Shams Al: Best group workout classes in the city (I have tried many!). Love Matheus' classes!! The only downfall is that they are closed on Sundays.

Outgoing coach James and incoming coach Niall are both fantastic at tailoring workouts specific to clients needs and seem highly motivated to offer the most in their workouts.

I always thought that sport and physical activity was not for me. I was afraid of the embarrassment if I do something wrong having absolutely no experience. Everyone is so nice there. CY has absolutely amazing energy and positive attitude, Neall made every training session fun keeping things motivating and helping me progress towards my goals. I liked training with Jaden and Chad is always there with his good-morning-sir. These guys helped me in a way no one ever did before. I am looking forward to twenty more years!

Kyle Duske: I had an intense muscle spasm, and possible disk bulge, that left me walking on a cane for almost a week. I am a martial arts instructor so being immobilized like that was really hard. After just one RMT session Theron had me off my cane. It’s been a slow recovery and I still have a ways to go but I might still be hobbled over a cane if it wasn’t for Theron. I can’t recommend and thank Theron enough.

Sound Sculptor Recordings: An amazing, high quality gym with genuinely caring, motivating, fun and communicative staff. Most impressively, they use an integrated approach where trainers, physios, and nutritionists work together to help you reach your fitness goals . The physio and nutritionist initial visits are included in the sign up fee. Its the best quality you can find in a gym and the space has a really cool and modern design, but the vibe isn't pretentious. Matt was super friendly and really took the time to understand and evaluate my fitness goals and challenges.

Dee M: Dope gym! I’m so glad this place exists and I’m looking forward to attending as many classes as possible. Took the boxing class at 5:30pm (Amanda was the Instructor) and it was amazing. So challenging, but worth even sweat and tear. Bathrooms were clean and there are so many cool spaces around the gym. Also, they have a smoothie bar at the front that I didn’t have a chance to try.
Peter Pi: One of the funnest gym in town. STUDEO offers variety of classes for all levels. The coaches are knowledgeable and experienced at instructing. You can easily look at the weekly workouts via their Facebook page, as well as use the MINDBODY App to book the classes you want. If you want to get fit and do it right, this is it. I love going to the 6:15AM classes as those are the least busiest. The only negative review would be that their current pound mats for the platforms needs replacing.

Rena Lawrence: The support you receive at The Bar Method is above and beyond the value of membership. No matter what is going on with my body, the instructors continue to help me find ways to still get an amazing workouts. I’ve had multiple times in my life with back and neck pain that I was so afraid to workout and make it worse but this workout is actually so therapeutic that taking breaks is what makes my neck/shoulder/back pain worse. I can’t believe how much stronger I am because of this place. Highly HIGHLY recommend fully committing to this program and “Embrace the shake” 😌

The best part of the studio is hands down the instructors! They are all so kind and friendly and supportive! I was in a really serious car accident and I've been really insecure about my body as I was mostly on bed rest for about a year and have never been this out of shape as an adult. The welcoming attitudes of every single person on the staff have made me feel confident coming in and trying my best, even though I struggle with lots of the exercises and have to modify them due to my post accident pain and limitations. All of the teachers have great personalities and lots of technical skill - not to mention eyes in the backs of their heads! The exercises are also very effective and follow a loose structure so you can get more confident over time and improve your technique. I'm noticing a big difference, I realized today that I fit my pre accident jeans again after a little more than two weeks! I am forever grateful to the whole team at the Bar Method! I only wish they had more classes so I wouldn't have to miss any days!
Karen Wong: I have been doing the Bar Method since 2014. What drew me here was experiencing decreased strength, endurance and body awareness after an Achilles tendon repair and having 2 children. During this time, I have gotten to know the wonderful Bar Method owner Carolyn and the knowledgeable and very client centered instructors! This has become my happy place and a space where I have met personal goals with the many classes offered, getting exercise modifications when I needed, encouragement when I was feeling unmotivated and have met many friends who lift and support one another! I strongly encourage beginners to advanced exercisers to join Bar. When I started, I couldn’t do pretzel without tons of props, a heel lift without cramping or a push up on my toes! Now I can!
Linda S: I have taken 5 Bar Method classes for now. First time I entered the studio, I liked the clean, bright, spacious and loft-style studio right away. People are very friendly and teachers are super helpful to new comers. The workout routines are carefully designed, very efficient and effective. I did or am still doing weight training, hot yoga, zumba, HIIT, etc. At the beginning, I have my doubts, but those exercises do make my legs shaking. With small weights and small movements, muscles are toned and strengthened. I also feel my poses are little bit more elegant now (still a long way to go)

Tereza: The first exercise that I enjoy and decided to stick with. Instructors are very nice and will help you adjust your position if incorrect while pushing your limits so that your legs shake. User-friendly app to book classes. Very nice, clean, modern studio and equipment (you don't need to bring anything besides non-slip socks). Membership for $200 a month is reasonable since you usually attend 3+ classes a week. Since the first class, I felt very welcome by the staff, and they followed up and were interested in how the experience with The Bar was for me. Very happy so far.

Groupon states the package doesn’t expire, I come back from vacation and 10 sessions left have magically expired. This place is a true scam, get your moneys worth elsewhere. If I could add screenshots of the Groupon page to prove my point I would, I’m positive this business will claim otherwise but I have screenshots. Fine prints mean nothing when in bold it states it doesn’t expire and can be repurchased by the same customer, scammers :)

Ghazal: Oxygen Yaletown is the second Oxygen studio that I’ve been to and it turned out to be better that the first one (Surrey Center studio).They are located at Richards and Smithe. The girl at the front desk was nice and helpful.The washroom, showers, and lockers are located in the fitting room. The lockers have locks on them already so you don’t need to bring one.I went to the HIIT and Sculpt class and was happy with both the class and the instructor, Carlos.The room was really packed though. There were at most 10 inches of space between the mats and that made some of the movements very hard.The room is heated so make sure to hydrate we’ll be the class and bring water with you.Overall, other than the number of people in the class, I was happy with the experience.

Keisha Gratton: The customer service skill at this location is highly lacking compared to the other locations I have been to. It takes over a week to get a response via email and that's only after repeatedly following up and asking for a response. Accidentally signed up at this location instead of the one in my neighborhood and even though I did not attend a single class they still refused to give me a refund for the first month. For a place that is claiming to uphold such positive values this is beyond disappointing and greedy.

My apologies for not getting her name, but the woman working the front desk was SO HELPFUL.Not only are the people amazing… the classes are great too.

Maria Cruz Hernández Arroyo: For the price you paid they should limit the amount of people in the studio. The room is way to small to fit us all plus all our belongings now that the change rooms are closed. The classes and teachers are great but the yoga mats are spaced literally 10 cm. It is really hard to focus on the exercises when you are all the time trying not to hit anyone close to you. Also, even if we are all vaccinated, it doesn't feel safe to be in a heated room with no social distance at all. Hope they reconsider the number of reasonable spots that room actually fits.

Ron Stevens: Local fitness studios are tough businesses to run, especially now but so useful and valuable to a community! At least until Amazon figures out a way to destroy that business too.Since the return and new distancing protocols are in place that limits classes to 15 people, this studio manager did a good job of navigating through the issues and got much better as a result. The new changes only improved the overall experience and even without changeroom usage, it's just better!The teachers did a great job with the online classes and are even better now in live classes. The front reception and management are all very good, patient and pleasant.Suggestions.Offer some new quiet classes without music or classes with no loud music, only calming music that appeals to everyone.

Jen Han: One of the yoga instructor that I don't know if she usually practices yoga for her self.The class was mess. She explained the gesture only with words, so the students were busy seeing other people's movements. In the middle, the teacher finally did some moves, but he could hardly do them. I doubt if she really enjoys yoga and does her own training to share good energy with us.

Since we get corporate discount hence I was trying to call them to see that may be today my luck may shine and someone will reply in a positive helpful way but No. they r really rude and when u ask them name so that you could take the matter to the manager they hang up on you.If this is how they treat initially I wonder how they would treat after taking money.
Geoffrey Scoates: Great studio, the teachers are fantastic and the people are the front are friendly (special shout of to Kat and Larissa) and very helpful. Make sure you read the description of the classes before hand because some of the classes can be very different from each other, but they're all good.

Alex really helped with my mobility and guided us through getting stronger every week (I can now just about do a muscle-up). The gym is welcoming with all the trainers providing a great workout environment. Cannot recommend enough

Sahra Homayounian: I have been to Elite Performance HIIT classes before COVID, and I greatly enjoyed the vibe and classes. Six years ago, I had a very bad experience with a personal trainer, which caused me a shoulder injury. Since then, I have been doing pilates and Lagree, afraid of weight training. Finally, I decided to give weight training another shot, and I started training with Jared Pearson. I was very peaky on a trainer, and Jared’s experience got my attention. Since I started a couple of months ago, I’m seeing a steady improvement in the weak areas of my body and overall strength and fitness. Jared is very fun but disciplined. He is very knowledgeable and understanding and will go above and beyond to motivate you and ensure you will reach your goals. I would highly recommend Elite Performance and Jared Pearson. 😊

My husband had been going to Rez for personal training for quite some time and convinced me to try it out. Rez was anything but pushy, but instead is considerate, has helped me work toward my fitness goals, and has a great sense of humour! I’ve been seeing Rez weekly for almost 2 years now, including through my second pregnancy. I would recommend that anyone go see him for their personal fitness goals! He’s awesome! Thanks Rez!

Sarah goes way above and beyond with designing the program and invests herself into understanding each individual's goal. I came to Sarah because I was struggling with sleep and energy. Ever since I started training with her I've noticed significant improvement in my energy levels and athletic performance. I'm the strongest I've ever been and each session I feel stronger than the last. Sarah is definitely tough so don't get tricked by her lovely smile - but it does get me through those painful cardio sessions.If you're hesitant about getting a personal trainer, you will not be disappointed with Sarah :)

Airsawat Sawatdang: My friend who works out here for so many years invited me to join him. I don't work out often and don't even know the name of any gym equipment. I was worried at first but it turned out so fun 😃. Felix is amazing. He run the entire class while making sure each of us did each exercise correctly. The washroom is clean and full of quality toiletries. They provide towel and lockers but you need to bring your own lock.

First and foremost, the range of bodybuilding machines here is simply mind-blowing. The amazing equipment delivers exceptional results. Every machine seems to have been carefully selected and designed to target specific muscle groups, allowing me to customise my workouts with precision and efficiency. All in all the presence of classic metal weights takes me back to the golden era of weightlifting. It's a refreshing departure from the cookie-cutter gyms that solely rely on high-tech machines that don't deliver the same results.As well as this, One of the aspects I appreciate most is the variety of machines available. Whether I want to focus on strength training, cardiovascular exercises, or functional workouts, this gym seems to have it all. The diverse range of equipment ensures that I never get bored and can continually challenge myself to new heights.In terms of location, this gym couldn't be more convenient. Nestled in the heart of Kitsilano, it's easily accessible from every corner of the city. This means that for most of us we can seamlessly incorporate our fitness routines into our daily lives without wasting too much time commuting. The prime location honestly does add an extra layer of convenience and motivation.When it comes to the cons of the gym, I do have to say that the gym tends to have less of a crowd. It's a double-edged sword, really. On the one hand, you won't have to deal with overcrowding or wait times for equipment.When it comes to equipment, while the majority is top-notch, there are a few older pieces that might not offer the same level of comfort or features. However, don't let that deter you! The core equipment is well-maintained and gets the job done.Although at times the staff can be a little over enthusiastic about pushing you towards getting a membership, To me at least they seem to always welcome me and make this gym feel like my home.To sum it up, this gym is a hidden gem that I'm thrilled to be a part of. The outstanding selection of bodybuilding machines, the fusion of modern and traditional equipment, the variety of workouts available, the unbeatable location, and the affordability make it a fitness haven like no other. Although this gym may not be for everyone I seriously suggest you give it a shot and see it for yourself.

Seemed fine but I decided not to join as you couldn't deadlift heavy due to the hair salon being underneath. What was with the response to Philip Phil and meeting face to face? A thinly veiled threat? Weird.
Rhiannon Whitney: The way Ron Zalko staff are handling people who are medically exempt from receiving the vaccine is absolutely disgusting. A woman who answered the phone said "Its not my fault you are choosing to not get the vaccine!" after I had just explained to her that I am medically exempt due to a medical condition. I paid upfront for 6 months, haven't even used 2 of those months. When I asked to put my membership on hold they told me this is impossible, they don't have the software to do it. I then spoke to the owner himself and he said they will not put memberships on hold or give refunds. This is pretty disgraceful and I cannot believe they are discriminating against people with legitimate medical conditions this way.UPDATE: After posting this review, they replied with posting my PERSONAL ADDRESS AND INFORMATION which is completely ILLEGAL and I will be seeking legal council.

Linney Sylvester: The cardio equipment is regularly maintained which is nice. Some new items over the last couple years to keep things interestin, its a but its over crowded with equipment. Lots of classes available. Womens' only section, but the db don't go past 30lbs and the heaviest KB is 25lbs. It also doesnt take much to max out the cable machine either (its old). You can't use any weights in the large open room that is available or take weights into the stretching room, so there isn't anywhere to do walking lunges with weight or anything like that. No hair dryers or hand dryers, but there are showers in the main change room.Free parking for the evening and weekends, otherwise it's luck on the streets and meter. Minimal juice monkey cliental! Hours are not the best. Hours mon-thur till 9pm. Friday till 8, sat till 6. Sun till 5. Closed on holidays. Some of the staff are friendly.

Good location.The men's bathroom is woefully inadequate and needs to be gutted and completely redone. Many machines lack legible instructions. Sad vibe of a better past. Odd shrine to Ryan Reynolds and the owner from the early 2000s. Weird.Needs new blood and a thorough renovation.

Elizabeth Everwood: I did not have a good experience at this gym but upon hearing of an incident that happened today I feel compelled to warn people away from this place. The lady at the front desk targeted the only POC female in the gym who drove through the snow to get to the gym to KICK HER OUT very rudely for not bringing an alternate pair of shoes when hers were perfectly dry (she drove and went through the parking facility). As a woman, I will not stand with a gym that treats people this way and I encourage others not to join this gym. Throughout covid they continued to take money from people when they were closed and refused to answer about cancellations and are so rude to loyal paying customers. I do not go here anymore because of their attitude and I encourage others to find a more welcoming and inclusive gym.

Nuria Francisco: I went this morning to Ron Zalko Fitness and Yoga to ask for the pricing.When I arrived “Steve” asked me if I want to join right away or I would like the gym first.-Well I don’t know any prices, and I would like to know how much is before sign in, right? -He showed me the list of prices and was crazy insane.I been reading the reviews about how they make money from people, but this was WOW.Because I didn’t want to join for a full year, the “promos” that they have where almost 70$ per month (doing the math) .No one mentioned about the online promo which is WAY LESS.After that I asked him for the free trial that they are promoting outside the gym… and he told me to fill the form online.My surprise was when MARIA called me 3 hours later and was offering me this free trial all in afternoon shift.After explaining 3 times that I was unable to come any afternoon due my work someone pick up the phone abruptly and start explaining me about the gym fee.I asked him for his name, because honestly I didn’t know who was on the other line , and his reply was “You don’t need to know this. I’m the CO and I’m here to do business.
