Fardad Alavi: A laser training school needs to be ahead in the technology they use. Something that you hardly see any trace of it here; Old devices mainly for very basic services. The consultant couldn’t communicate in an acceptable level of english and they claim providing any training you can imagine without having the machinery for that!Even on their social media they posted photos of their students who aim the laser aperture towards their own face! An undoubted negligence of the basic laser safety. (See the attached photo from their Instagram)If you are planning to get trained for very basic treatment and you are fluent in farsi not English, their school could be a choice. But definitely not for a person who is seeking a quality training with up-to-date technology.I put a two star review just because of their receptionist who was friendly and cooperative.

Grey Studio: The Medical Aesthetic Training program far exceeded my expectations. Overall an amazing course. The combination of theory and hands on practical made it all come together too make sense. The class size was small which made it possible to be extremely hands on. The learning was made fun by Dr.Honardoust and Imane, who are both extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend the school because of its extensive knowledge, positive environment and amazing teachers. Nisha Klair: I'm an RN and I attended the one-week program to be certified as an aesthetic dermatology technician. This program provided a balance of morning theory + afternoon hands on training with real clients. I enjoyed the small class size as it allowed for one on one learning, guidance and feedback. The course material was well detailed with a focus on what is relevant and required to understand the science behind medical aesthetics and skin care. Dr. Honardoust and Imane were clearly knowledgeable, professional and respectful throughout the program. Overall, I highly recommend this academy and its programs for those who wish to become certified quickly while also being confident, competent and safe in their practice. Iza Alegro: Overall, the Medical Aesthetician Technician program had a great learning environment and its value worth the price; In-person lessons and hands-on training with guidance from medical professionals.With the smaller class sizes, the doctors were able to give me and my classmates live demonstrations on models, along with instant feedback after practicing.I was provided with reading material to review at home after class and in preparation for three exams over 7 days. The information was easy to understand and if you're a skin care enthusiast, you will probably be familiar with some of the material already.Additionally, since the school has an established relationship with their dedicated suppliers, the doctors/instructors will order equipment on your behalf should you need to buy machines for your spa or at-home business.I highly recommend this institution to anyone who wants to learn condensed information on skin care and medical aesthetics without having to learn other topics like massage therapy, nails, makeup, etc. It is a cost effective program and the instructors are medical doctors with years of experience in the field.Thank you, Dr. Honar and Imane, for the invaluable experience - including the fruit and coffee! :)

Aesthetic Medicine: As a registered nurse, I attended to some of the courses in the BC Academy of Medical Aesthetics and Skin Care. The professor Dr. Dariush Honardoust and his team were highly knowledgeable and professional. Courses are taught right to the point. The course materials, subjects and course outlines were thorough and focused. Compared to other schools that I took courses, this academy is offering the knowledge and hands on training comprehensive, intense yet concise without wasting our time on unrelated subjects. Highly recommended for people who want to quickly become trained, certified and start working.Thank you very much Dr. H.
Strata LMS865: One of the best experience I ever had in may Facial Rejuvenation and Skin Care. This Academy has practitioners and experienced staff that all are University graduated professionals. They treat their clients and students with dignity and respect. I enjoyed multicultural and friendly atmosphere in their premises. I requested from the director if they are Health Department approved and if their devices are up to code. He showed me all certificates of approval with patience and respect. Their chief director Dr. Honardoust is extremely humble and caring. He appointed one of his best technologist, Imane, for me to carry on with my appointment and feel comfortable and relax. I definitely will go back for more treatments and recommend this Academy to my family and friends.
Tulipia Flower: I usually never leave any reviews, but I just felt I needed to share my experience. I had a consultation for a treatment with Dr. Honar and Imane for a treatment I planned to get. They were very knowledgeable and patient with me. They explained the needs for my skin very well. I initially wanted to get some thread lifting, instead of just doing the treatment that I asked for they advised me to chose a different approach with my skin, since the treatment I had in mind would not give me the results I hope for. They have such good and competitive prices. Imane who offered me the treatment was very sweet and caring, and very thorough and knowledgeable. I really recommend this place. They care so much about what is best for their clients, and they are not just trying to make a buck out of people's needs and insecurities. I will certainly go back their and recommend the place to my family and friends.

Priscilla wan: Don’t waste your time here. This was my first time coming and wasted my money and time as they can’t do anything UNLESS you have virgin hair. When I made my appointment, I mentioned I have blonde highlights. Day of appointment, I go in requesting for dark brown hair. The student proceeded filling out a consultation form, only to call out to the instructor later. 30 minutes into the appointment, the instructor came by and was very rude. The instructor laughed at my request for brown hair and stating that nowhere else, not even a regular salon or school can accommodate the color I want….. dark brown hair. Of course I went to another hair salon and guess what, it was possible to change my full head hair to dark brown.
Vanessa Miner: I absolutely love Blanche Macdonald! This is the second fashion school I've attended as a Fashion Marketing student. While my last school mostly focused on just the business aspect (things like buying, wholesaling, starting a business, etc.), Blanche Macdonald taught that as well as things we need to know that are specific to the fashion industry itself. Things like history of fashion trends and also the history of fashion houses and their creative directors throughout the years. We were also taught things like different silhouettes and garment details so that we could go into the industry with not only business knowledge, but fashion knowledge as well.
Zahoor Hassan: I attended the Global Fashion Marketing Program and would recommend it to anyone wanting to start their career in fashion or beauty.My favourite classes were public relations, sustainability and business entrepreneurship. The program gives you an inside scoop into all the different parts of the fashion industry. Great internship and job opportunities while studying to prepare you once you graduate. Instructors are super helpful and knowledgeable!
sierra: The way they portray the global fashion marketing program is very misleading and far from what is what they actually teach you. Lyndi (a sweetheart) but she retaught the same information in all three classes I took. the social media teacher Lindsay has a very millennial approach that is very inaccurate and outdated. Peggy is incredible but her fashion elements class, certain parts are quite irrelevant to what you actually need to know about the fashion industry. Ex: the date of the years certain designers worked for certain brands. It’s just a way to make it seem like the people who graduate know more when it reality they don’t. They make it seem like it’s very hands-on but it isn’t. The only teacher who was hands-on in my opinion was Briana and Arshnoor. Everyone else just expected you to sit in a chair for 3.5 hours and listen while not taking into account that every student learns in a different way. Ps why are the classrooms so bland for a school that’s supposed to be a creative fashion space. It’s not worth the money because most of the places you apply to post-grad know how much of a scam it is. Every single friend of mine who went there (even past admission directors) know how terrible this school is. Don’t go into debt for a school that won’t help you get a job after. @mel and @tais
Shantay Dennis: With my instructors at Blanche being so passionate about what they taught and so encouraging to us as students it was a really inspiring and great learning experience. Blanche provided me with skills in all areas of the fashion, business and marketing industry. There was not one day I did not learn something new and valuable. Everyday I was learning and applying the skills I was taught into my life outside of school. I have developed a great sense of what it means to be apart of the fashion industry and what you need to successfully build and grow a business from scratch. Blanche always encouraged creativity from all students whether it was through assignments or class discussions and I feel that really helped me in discovering my own personal branding. Since graduating from Blanche in September 2022 I have left with a great skill set and deep knowledge on all the fashion and marketing essentials. I’ve started an internship at Banana Republic working with their incredible Visual Merchandising team. I am so excited for this new chapter of mine as I start my journey in the industry building my career, creating new experiences and meeting amazing people!
Sydney Pazurik: The first time I came here was great, it took 8 hours but I was fine waiting.Today I was humiliated, they looked at my hair for a minute or two before telling me they couldn’t bleach it because it had been dyed and that would require a “colour correction”. They refused to work on my hair and I had to leave the salon. Unless you have perfect, healthy, virgin hair, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE. The students were lovely but the two teachers were so rude and judgemental. I took the day off work to come here, now my day is ruined.
Van Guy: Since the COVID 19 pandemic began, I have been going to Blanche MacDonald Centre beauty school for inexpensive haircuts.Earlier today I needed grooming for my facial hair as opposed to a haircut. I had a student, Priyanka instructed by Holly who had suggested different ideas/techniques on how to style my facial hair as I needed to look sharp for a gala event I am to attend later.Although it is a beauty salon school, I was impressed at Holly’s knowledge of styling beards as I had been more accustomed to barber shops pre-pandemic, with the same style.I appreciated Holly was passionate about teaching students, in essence giving back with all her expertise she learned from.My beard looked great with a new style I never had before.I felt I was ‘giving back’ as I had a lot of time to offer… as the students are learning and training in a new occupation, they need the extra time to practice what they are being taught.Thanks Holly. By teaching you are coming full circle by passing on everything you have learned with the added experience of being a hair stylist for a new set students to graduate. Keep it up! 😉
Amelia Paczynski: I went to Blanche Macdonald for fashion design. It was a really great experience! Instructors were helpful and had a lot of knowledge and real world experience to share about the fashion industry. There is support for finding a job in fashion after you graduate. Mel and Brianna are super helpful, I was hired within 2 months after reaching out to them. Overall my experience at Blanche was a lot of hard work, I learned so much, and it was a great step towards becoming a fashion designer!
Brandon Mitchell: I was very lucky to meet and Alicia and Holly at the Blanche Macdonald Centre. Alicia is in the process of learning to become a barber and Holly was instructing a course on how to do it, Holly is an extremely patient and friendly instructor. Alicia was extremely polite, friendly, and an amazing student. I was so impressed by Alicia's success through the program, she told me that she had started in June and that I was her 8th live haircut from the time she started the program.Alicia washed my hair, cut, buzzed, trimmed, and even finished off with a warm towel shave. It was a relaxing experience. I have to say I was a bit concerned at before going in for a cut and shave due to past experience at a different hair school many years ago, but thanks to Holly's guidance with the program Alicia did such an amazing job, it is by far the best cut and shave I have had in a while that is right on par with all the local professionals with many years of experience!So happy to support their efforts and wishing many years of continued success, keep up the hard work!-Brandon

Raman Toor: I graduated from the Global Fashion Marketing Program 4 months ago and it was amazing! The classes are very diverse so you truly get a great insight into the entire industry. J Naley: I had a virtual consultation with Dana last month and it was such a great experience, she was so knowledgeable and caring, the consultation did not feel salesy and I can tell she wanted the very best for me! It was great to be able to do a virtual consultation because I able to take care of my two young children while I was able to address all my skin and hair concerns. When I came in to the clinic to do my first PRP hair treatment with Dr Pavlou he was so professional and gentle. I can’t wait to finish my series for fuller hair after it thinned post pregnancy!Haley has also treated me for my stubborn melasma with the starwalker device with the vivier HQ kit and it has changed my skin completely! Regan Ogilvie: Had a pretty terrible experience here. The whole aesthetic is cold and icy, and the front desk staff are not personable. I got Botox and Dr Pavlov was also impersonal and spent so few seconds with me. No care instructions or follow up treatment offered. The Botox didn’t take to one side and I ended up going elsewhere to fix it. Also the price per unit for Botox is astronomical- $13/u. Not a fan, there are way better places for less.

Samantha MacKenzie: I got fillers for my very first time recently at Skin Technique. I cannot speak more highly of the experience with Dr Pavlou & his staff. They are extremely knowledgeable, caring and deliver fantastic results you will be very happy with.I had several areas of my face I wanted to enhance and Dana was super helpful at guiding me as a newbie during our consultation. Initially I felt that the number of syringes she quoted was far above what I expected. But as a first timer wanting a pretty big change, I’m very happy I took her advice when booking. It ended up being very accurate to what Dr Pavlou used in my ultimate visit. He mapped out exactly what he was going to be doing, how he injects for natural results and was very communicative the entire time.I ended up having a vasovagal response during my session. I experienced these type of responses before in my life, but it had been over 10 years since my last one and I had eaten/had good sleep the night before so was definitely not expecting it.Essentially, I got really hot, dizzy and then ultimately loss consciousness for a few seconds. This is where I knew I made the best decision coming to Dr Pavlou. I’ve said the word “vasovagal” to some doctors and they had no clue what I was even talking about. Dr Pavlou immediately knew what happened to me and told me I had that response as soon as I was conscious. He and his assistant, Sahar, took such great care of me - brought me back with juice and chocolate, fanned me, made me comfortable and continued the procedure with my permission. They checked in with me consistently. I felt extremely safe in a very vulnerable position.Ultimately, the results are exactly what I was looking for. Highly highly recommend this clinic for facial filler. Dr Pavlou is an artist, as well as very knowledgeable about the human body. His staff is kind and ready for anything!
