Raymond J
Raymond J: Quality art, knowledgeable, friendly staff and a great location.
Daveo
Daveo: A perfect, classic gallery. Its almost nostalgic these days.
Dave Perry
Dave Perry: Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Leaders in the Canadian market, best in the business. I love popping by, you never know what they'll have hanging on the walls!
Japonica Berg
Japonica Berg: The online bidding system CANNOT BE TRUSTED. Heffel does not seem to follow its own rules for bidding. BUYER BEWARE. Other auction houses may be more trustworthy.
Gordon Sjodin
Gordon Sjodin: Very nice place to look around. Great place to do buisness.
Stephanie Phillips
Stephanie Phillips: Not sure about some of the other posters here. Auction houses the wolrd over routinely charge 20%+ commissions. The Heffel brothers have done an amazing job with the Gallery over the years, turning into the preeminent Canadian auction house for fine art. Highest quality art at commensurate prices.
Craig W
Craig W: Outstanding service and attention to detail that inspires trust and reassurance. I am a happy customer.
Damien Secret
Damien Secret: The ppl that run this place are incredible tools. Spend your hard earned dollars somewhere else.

Maynards Fine Art And Antiques: what do users think?
Emma Smith
Emma Smith: My husband and I recently went into Maynards to discuss selling items from my mothers estate. The older woman behind the desk was so upbeat and informative and gave us so many options on how to move forward with our antiques and artwork. Thank you for your in-depth help Shannia. My peers and I will definitely bring our parents priceless collections as we have seen your outstanding facility and are confident you will handle our treasures with care.
Liveinsydney
Liveinsydney: Maynard’s have just cost me AU $489. I purchased two lots from Maynard’s only to discover the items were fake. I notified Maynard’s of the issue and questioned why the items being sold were not authenticated prior to selling. Now, I understand that this can happen and Libby was quick in offering a refund on the items, but not on the shipping or lost fees as a result of this error on their part. The result was I lost on the shipping costs both ways and the fees relating to the international transfer. A net loss of AU $489. I believe in this instance I should have been refunded the shipping costs because the items were sold as genuine and could not be proven as such. This is a case of poor performance on behalf of Maynard’s and poor policy decisions when an item is returned and the issue is not the customers fault.
vmurt
vmurt: I've bought items through their auctions and it's a fun experience - remember though that they add a 22% premium on top of your winning bid price, so factor that into your bid. Also, it's important to view items you're interested in person before bidding - the condition of an item usually isn't fully described online, so buyer beware. The staff have been very helpful with answering questions.
Celina Sekhon
Celina Sekhon: Lots of antiques to choose from but auctions are only online.
Jodie Blount
Jodie Blount: BE AWARE !!!!! There is a huge scam going around involving this company !!!! They have known about it for a long time and have done absolutely nothing about it !! I have just lost $900 because I thought i was being hired by this company as a personal assistant! There is someone pretending to be this company they know about it and do not care!!! Do not trust this company. If you see a job posting for a personal assistant of this company please report it to the police!!!!! This company has not posted anywhere about this scam involving them so I am writing this so others know !!!
Tt
Tt: I have bought 3 items from 2 auctions ,I was pleased with my purchases I think I got a great deal .The staff seem friendly and I received good help over the phone as well. I will definitely buy more from upcoming auctions.
Bruce MacLean
Bruce MacLean: I have purchased works of art from many auction houses in Canada and been very happy but this place is horrible. The staff should take some lessons from Heffel or Waddington's, etc. Very unprofessional to say the least. Glad I won't be dealing with them ever again.
肥罗先僧Rax
肥罗先僧Rax: Staffs were not friendly, feel like not welcomed.
Sarah Macaulay
Sarah Macaulay: If you are unable to attend a preview to view the items in person before you bid I strongly advise that if you win a lot ask to look at it before you pay for it. They try to get you to pay first before they bring it out. Twice I have received damaged items, and it was not easy to negotiate with them once they had my money. To note, none of the damage was pictured in the online preview, and it was not mentioned in the description of the item either. Buyer beware.
Shikhar Nehru
Shikhar Nehru: A great place to visit for antique and fine arts.
Gaming Fox “Gaming” Tunlor
Gaming Fox “Gaming” Tunlor: Pretty cool place with friendly people.
Edmund Chmelk
Edmund Chmelk: I have bought things and sold things through this auction house. They were very good in helping with information of the products sold and bought.I would recommend using this auction house to sell or buy items. There payment of sold items was a bit slow but realizing the process and amount of items they have to process and days to clear cheques and secure funds of the items it was not unreasonable .One must realize they are a world renowned establishment and not a consignment store .I give them top markThey served me well and hopefully everyone who reads this as well
Nam Hong
Nam Hong: Avoid this auction house. If anything ever goes wrong with your purchase from them, they are rubber and you're glue and whatever goes wrong bounces off them and sticks to you. Seriously, I have never dealt with a seller that was so committed to not taking responsibility for anything. I will never deal with this place ever again. Caveat Emptor and all of that.
M L
M L: One of the best Auction Houses to deal with in the lower mainland. Ethical, Honest and friendly staff. No problems dealing with this mainstay of the antique business for many years.
Colin Stevens
Colin Stevens: I have always found the staff to be friendly and very helpful at the auctions that I have attended.
c Ross
c Ross: I have bought for years from Maynards and I love the Antiques I have purchased. I did read the reviews below and I have not experienced this at all.The condition reports are accurate. The quality of the items are to die for. They are very honest and I have purchase some really amazing arms and Armour, silver and antiques. I have had many great conversations with the staff. MY ONLY REGRET IS NOT BUYING MORE FROM PAST MAYNARDS AUCTIONS!!I trust this auction 100% with anything I want to buy from any of the auctions by phone or online bidding. The staff is very polished and the items you get are outstanding in beauty and quality.
Graham
Graham: Maynards new location is large, modern and very impressive, our family has been buying and consigning for over 60 years with Maynards and have been very pleased with the results.
mangore623
mangore623: I’ve been happily attending Maynard’s auctions for 15 years, and am happy to add a bit of balance to a ridiculously skewed set of review data.Number one: All auction houses have a Buyers Premium on auctioned goods. This occurs without exception across the globe, as auction houses are not charitable institutions; they are businesses. At an auction, the goods will be sold to the highest bidder, and there is no guarantee that your goods will circumvent fundamentals, and sell at an appraised or retail level. In fact, unless the goods are highly coveted, you can be reasonably assured of a disappointing outcome.Given this, no auctioneer would give a guarantee on a positive outcome, but would venture a conjecture; something that you cannot take to the bank.Auctions serve the purpose of liquidating masses of goods quickly. If you feel slighted that the clapped-out tat you dragged down to the auction didn’t generate a king’s ransom, then this is only a confession of your naïveté.As an example, let’s examine the sale of a Persian rug. Depending upon its pedigree, it isn’t uncommon for a rug to sell at auction for a tiny fraction of its retail value. This is normal. If the rug was an Isfahan signed rug, it will sell for considerably more than the bazaar grade rug, but unless it is rare Isfahan rug, or several bidders go mad, it will never sell for more than the retail rate. The bottom dropped out of the antiques market a decade ago, and there is not even a hint that it will recover anytime soon. This means that the once highly coveted Scottish Victorian chest of drawers you bought for $2K at auction in the late 90s/early 2000s can barely be given away for $100 today.Lastly, and this should be painfully obvious, a little research will go a long way towards staving off disappointing outcomes. If a set of Noritake China sold for x amount of dollars at auction two months earlier, you can be certain that when you trot your set in that the audience will not spontaneously burst into a standing ovation when yours appears up for bids.Like the laws of Physics, common sense always prevails over infantile wish fulfillments.
Derek Andrews
Derek Andrews: Great selection
Saroop Soofi
Saroop Soofi: They are sham bags! Please DO NOT get involved with them if you are an artist! If there was a no star option I would go for it! They have malicious tactics and unethical ways which have nothing to do with Fine Art! I walked in today at one of their shady displays at Kingsway as they have not paid in months to one of my artist friends even after the work was sold! I had a very interesting encounter with the discourteous and rude lady on the reception who not only failed to explain what their shady business practises are about but also mentioned they only buy art from "very well known artists" in her thick accent. You need to pay back people and hire decent human beings to work for you!
James David
James David: This auction house charges you a “Buyer’s Premium”, as if it is somehow a great privilege that you are allowed to buy from them. Just think about it. Would you go into any other business and pay this. Go into any major or minor retailer. Pick say $1000.00 in merchandise. You get your sales slip and they want $1250.00 plus any applicable taxes. You show them the mistake and they tell you it is a “Buyer’s Premium”. Would you pay it? Why pay it here? The hammer price is the same as the price in a retail shop. Why are you paying more?On top of that they are looking for out of area and international business. They do not have the courtesy to offer in house shipping.Very poor5 service.Just something to think about.

Love's Auctioneers and Appraisers Ltd.: what do users think?
David Bostock
David Bostock: Referred by friend and had some of what I needed but just ok
carson w
Armando Sardegna
Armando Sardegna: Can get a great deal sometimes. Buyer beware.
Lord David Paul; House MacLucas: (DIRECTOR)
Lord David Paul; House MacLucas: (DIRECTOR): Its cold, no washrooms, no credit cards and no boxing up of your stuff.... TAKE IT AND GO!
Evan Wiley
Evan Wiley: Always good deals to be had
Jeremy Kristopher
Jeremy Kristopher: Nice helpful people. All good experiences. They have their usual auctions a few times a month of which they are -antiques and collectibles, restaurant and industry equipment, Amazon returns and they usually mixed that with courier non-delivery or returns. You can usually find some pretty good stuff. Bid prices fluctuates sometimes there's not many people bidding or interested and you get amazing deals and other times prices jump up quick and you need to be on-top of it to get what you want. I enjoy checking it weekly. Be cautious of how quick your bids can rack up they have tax and the actuation fees still on top. Also if your really interested in a bigger price item take the time to go and see it on a viewing day. Bad products slip by. Thats bound to happen if you buy lots, you'll run into that.Alright, be blessed.
Don Sherstobitoff
Don Sherstobitoff: Brought in numerous pieces, 26 pieces of JG durand crystal, vintage brass, etc etc etc. in boxes may 2, 2022, was told be 3 weeks, after months of viewing auctions expecting to see my items online. 1 piece shown, after numerous stop by visits , lost paperwork, working on it. $5 for box of crystal $5 for numerous boxes of items,
Riger Thorvaldson
Riger Thorvaldson: Loves auctions is one of the better auction houses in the lower mainland. All their auctions are online now due to COVID and that hasn't been rescinded yet. They have preauction visitation for item viewing but they still have COVID protocols in place. And never forget that they still charge taxes and a 20%+ admin fee on top of your bid. It can add up quickly if you forget the math and bid a little too enthusiastically! The staff are awesome and work as fast as they can to bring out your items. The online ordering system works very well and is simple to setup and use. One of the easiest bidding systems I've ever used. Parking is limited and items have to be picked up within 3 business days after the end of the auction.
ray nevill
ray nevill: I picked some items up for a friend from out of town last week. The items I picked up were damaged and that damage was not noted in the photos or pre-sale notes. Avoid! Avoid!
veryprettything
veryprettything: Always treasures to be found
Douglas Forst
Douglas Forst: Update: The auction house refunded the purchase of the TV stand as the there was no way we could have detected the missing part. Good people, reputable company!Do not buy furniture from this auction house that is not fully assembled and can be inspected before buying. We paid $85 for a TV stand that was worthless because a major part was missing. We did our diligence and inspected the packaging before buying and there was no sign it had been re-packed and the box was in good condition. Without the missing piece the item was worthless and just more garbage for the landfill. Buyer beware, this is our second auction purchase that was completely worthless.
Gordon Good
Gordon Good: I purchased from 2 of their auctions, found some interesting items in their auctions. Be sure to view the items you are interested in. One recommendation I can give anyone purchasing off this auction is never put in a maximum bid. You will pay your maximum bid you entered every time.
Signe Herbert
Signe Herbert: THIEVES-- I sent a full estate worth of antiques and collectibles- a full 15' trucks worth. I didn't even receive proper receipts of things sold..just hand written amounts. Was guaranteed X amount of dollars on a few items which never happened. THEN I had to keep calling about items that were missing. I RECEIVED LESS THEN $2000 FOR IT ALL.UPDATE--- just found out another person got ripped off here. BEWARE
Piotr Wojtowicz
Piotr Wojtowicz: You can sell quickly all your household but don't expect a lot of money. You can buy many things at a 10%-30 of original value at the same time but make sure you know what you are bidding for!
Anderson
Anderson: I don't recommend this auction for anyone, they sell disposed items especially electronics and small appliances without informing their client about damages or missing items as all other auctions do.
Michael Hadikin
Michael Hadikin: I've been going to loves for so many years now, they are like family. Sure do miss the in person auctions...
Mo Be
Mo Be: This is an unaffordable option for an auction. They have an exceptionally high buyers premium - 23%, and they ship through the UPS Store, which is not mentioned in their auction catalogue. Catalogue also did not disclose damage to 4 out of 8 items in the lot that I purchased through the description or pictures.
Bita Askari
Bita Askari: False advertisement, rude customer service. They will overcharge you in anyway they can. 👎
Nicholas Janosy
Nicholas Janosy: Rude staff.

Marvel Auctions Ltd: what do users think?
Andrew Ferguson
Andrew Ferguson: Dealt with Marvel for years. Friendly, professional and fair. Frankly the best out of all the Metro Vancouver Auction houses. Very solid to deal with.
Pierre
Pierre: It's the worst auction house in bc, it looks really bad and they're not auctioning, they're blapping.
Shingara Singh Sumal
Shingara Singh Sumal: Good place for house hold products
John Kohler
John Kohler: Marvel Auctions Ltd. of Richmond B.C. in two auctions this past summer, held in July and August 2022, found new homes for three generation's of, and a large three bedroom house full of my family's belongings, saving me a small fortune in storage costs and putting cash in my pockets. Given the high inflation rates and most people being on tight budgets in 2022 I was pleased with the results. Marvel Auctions Ltd. is an efficient, well run, professional operation. I can highly recommend Marvel Auctions Ltd. without reservation. September 2, 2022.John P. Kohler,Vancouver, B.C., Canada
veryprettything

lisa
lisa: Marvel took care of most of my late mum’s estate. Initially, I had no idea all her cherished collectibles and antique furniture would be worth so little and so difficult to sell. No one wants your stuff, folks! Service with Marvel was quick, easy, efficient, professional and friendly. Highly recommend.

Carl Sommerfeld

Gavin Paisley
Gavin Paisley: Unlike many of the other auctions on the lower mainland, Marvel does their best to sell items that are in good working condition. I have spent a lot of money here and will continue to in the future.
James Traynor
James Traynor: A little dirty but price goes for a reasonable amount. Family owned and operated. Just don't reserve bit. The ladies can't seem to keep up. Lost out many times bidding that way...

Shirley Sundberg
Shirley Sundberg: I hope this is getting to Waddington's Auctioneer-the first picture is of Lincoln and it looks like it is bronze and copper bottom. The second picture is of a music player that uses a wire to play and there are little cannisters-there is an instruction booklet and it is in a cabinet. The cricket player plate is 1 of a series..Pope John Paul's visit to Canada in 1984 and is copper with a wooden frame. The Royal license plate was on the Queen's car for her Canada visit..The vintage lamp has been painted. There is also a vintage wedding dress from 1948..Want to put on auction
Jodilyn Morel
Jodilyn Morel: I wouldn’t work with this company. I reached out for a quote on a white gold Concord and received a rude email questioning the authenticity of the watch and the rep telling me that it was “tarnished” and therefore fake as white gold “doesn’t tarnish.” Anyone with any knowledge of white gold knows it can and will tarnish and that white gold has the bright “white” lustre due to a rhodium coating, which will wear off over time. This is my second experience with the same rep, both bad.I deleted the email regarding the watch and will never deal with this auction house again.
MBS Enterprises
MBS Enterprises: I sent a rare bottle of whiskey and got top dollar. I found Waddington's to be very professional and they responded promptly to any of my questions.
paul bremner
paul bremner: My experience with Waddington's has always been a joy. As a seller and as a buyer it is always a pleasure .... Waddington's have always gone far beyond being helpful and courteous and professional.... many years of dealing with a GREAT Canadian auction company.
Ben Goldenthal
Ben Goldenthal: AVOID WADDINGTON'S!!!! If you're a buyer they are ok but as a seller you'll find no bigger ripoff in Toronto. They claim to be "experts" and tell you you'll get big money for your items however they advertise auctions extremely poorly and will get you nothing for your items every time. They then take a seller's premium on top of this and offer horrible reserve prices ensuring they can sell it cheap. If it doesn't sell they also donate your item to charity. Ridiculous!
ali shaygan
ali shaygan: I have loved this auction house for so many years. Both my mother and myself have purchased multiple items from them and always been very pleased with their assistance, quality of items auctioned and overall experience. The best auction in Toronto.
William Green
William Green: Recently had some art to sell and filled out their consignment form on line and got an auto reply they will be in touch. One week later no reply. Then sent a new email to their general inquiries asking what happened to my consignment and again after a few days no reply. Obviously they could care less about dealing on line even though they are set up for it. I like to deal on line, so have now contacted another competitor that does reply. Wont waste my time with this company any more.
c Ross
c Ross: I have used this auction originally taking a trip to Toronto couple times a year staying at a bed and breakfast just down from king street and going to Craft Burger for lunch. So I have a very long history with this auction and they have second to none honest and helpful employees that pride themselves for being honest to a fault. The antiques from this auction fill my home and this auction has been a really big part of my life,I consider the staff my friends and I care for them deeply. When going in person, went for drinks with staff after the auction finished. The quality of antiques, pictures and jewelry is outstanding and very expansive. The price you pay is well worth it and the online auctions are amazing and you know what is going on all the time. All the condition reports I get for 15 years have been spot on and very accurate more accurate that any other auction house world wide I have dealt with for 15 years.Buy and consign with confidence. They get great prices but are very conservative as they should be with estimates. This auction has been as mentioned a big part of my life and will be for the rest of it!!! It is much more than a auction house. Without Waddington's my life would not have been as rich in experience.
R Morgan
R Morgan: They have a wide range of collectable art as well as their wine and Spirt auctions through out the year. Helpful and knowledgeable.
Andrew S
Andrew S: My dealings with Waddington's has always been positive, professional, personable. They offer new areas of the art world to explore above and bring the norm.
