Precision Athletics - Personal Trainer Vancouver-Fitness Trainers: what do users think?
Peter Chun
Peter Chun: Got paired with Sara and found out immediately she's not only badass but someone who knows what they're talking about. Her workouts and sessions are intense, and I find that I am motivated to ask her to push me more instead of staying at the easy level. Her energy motivates me to push further and makes me glad after every session we went all out. Currently doing the Strong Start Program and the Food Nutrition Coaching with Josee is 100% worth it! Nutrition and fitness go hand in hand and I'm glad that I'm doing it. If possible, I would 100% pay money to use the gyms full-time. Great Facilities.
Adrian Crook
Adrian Crook: Love Pepe and the crew at Precision Athletics. I can think of no one else I'd trust my fitness to more than these guys (and girls). Totally life changing.
Audrey
Audrey: Griselda is an excellent trainer, very knowledgeable and always thoroughly clear in her instructions. She emphasizes correct form which really helps to prevent injury. After just 20 sessions, what felt heavy on day one now seems light as feather! Highly recommended!
Matija Mihaldzic
Matija Mihaldzic: The gym is clean, well taken care of and I feel safe using the facilities! Much appreciated
Amanda Santiago
Amanda Santiago: Love this gym! It’s clean, safe and well-maintained. Also, the gym is spacious and equipment is new (which is just a bonus). Highly recommend.
Ewa Taranto
Ewa Taranto: I worked here in the past. They are really great employers - professional and understanding. The energy of the gym is nice inviting. Good Trainers.
Renée Chio
Renée Chio: I did almost four months of partner training with Griselda Wang and all I can say is that I am extremely satisfied with her method and the results. On day one, she asked us what our fitness goals were and she devoted herself to make us achieve them— I am much fitter and stronger than before! In order to get the best results, she would always make sure form was correct which was the main reason I went looking for a personal trainer, so I could get the most out of working out at the gym. Every training session was intense and exhausting but I felt really good about myself afterwards. Thanks to the training techniques she taught us I now feel comfortable training on my own. I highly recommend her!
Gina Kim
Gina Kim: I’ve completed 20+ personal training sessions with Josee and I saw big improvements (more muscles, toned and generally feeling less stressed). Josee has been very professional, building programs that are just right for me. She also gave me a lot of advice on nutrition and diet which was also helpful. If schedule changes on rare occasions, she was very fast in communicating it to me. Highly recommend personal training with her if anyone is looking for personalized fitness program.
Jon Chan
Jon Chan: Great gym with friendly and professional staff. The alpha program with Craig is fantastic.
jason lalli
jason lalli: Great gym and friendly staff!
control_alt_delete
control_alt_delete: I cancelled two of my sessions due to changes in my schedule and I was very specific about what dates I wanted cancelled. I was assured they were cancelled by Craig, but then received an email from the trainer saying see on you Wednesday. I called back to clear up the confusion and I found Craig to be rude and condescending when all i wanted to do was clarify and make sure I wasn't charged for something I had cancelled way in advance. Anyways, left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, I found a trainer that was much better for almost half the price. They will also try to get you to book more than you want to and oversell a bit too much.
Janelle Pearce
Janelle Pearce: Positive:Professionalism,QualityI have been taking the Power lifting class withTerri-lynn and I have never felt stronger. Coming in as a beginner and only ever doing HIIT training, I now feel totally confident on the squat rack. I highly recommend this class and gym. Very Covid friendly and inclusive space.
Aaron Brown
Aaron Brown: Loving the Alpha program at Precision Athletics with Craig Boyd. Craig is a great trainer and the program is pretty much everything I was looking for. Great value!
Abby Pelaez
Abby Pelaez: I completed the Abs and Glutes 12 week program this month and previously did their HIIT boot camp class in 2018-2019. They were very professional and had social distancing measures for the abs and glues class. The workout was the perfect balance of challenging and fun; i never felt bored and the hour always went by quick. I saw results with both programs, too and felt stronger and healthier after a week of each program. Ewa is a great trainer. The communication via email was good too, and they were able to respond quickly when i notified them about my schedule changes. Would highly recommend.
Vito Longo
Vito Longo: Always super friendly staff and overall good vibes! My wife is also taking personal training sessions and staff is knowledgeable with very positive attitudes:) professional and Very clean gym. Highly recommended
Niloofar Fekri
Niloofar Fekri: The instructors were great 🙂 i enjoyed my workout at Precision Athletics.
r goodlad
r goodlad: Recently I completed a 21 day Health Fitness challenge with Precision Athletics. The team was really knowledgeable and friendly. For the exercises, they offered thorough instruction and demonstration. The exercises were challenging, but not impossible, and well mixed so there was no monotony. To help with what to eat, several meal suggestions and planners were offered to make my life simple. The challenge was reinforced with lots of why’s, providing insight in how to be more healthy in future.I saw results and over all felt so much better in not only my appearance, my mood and my energy levels as well. I continue to remain off coffee, which no one who knows me would believe! I look forward to working with the great trainers at Precision Athletes again, and keep the positive results rolling!
Jay Dizzle
Jay Dizzle: Workouts were very manageable. I was just used to old routines and was plateaued for a long time. These simple but effective exercises helped me get back strength to other parts of my body and feeling the benefits of being active again! Thanks to Craig, Pepe and everyone at the Precision athletics!!
Cynthia Medrano
Cynthia Medrano: Best training ever! Loved the personalized exercises and the attention to detail.Everyone is super friendly at the gym and always punctual for appointments.Great location also! Will definitely recommend!
Mood Storage
Mood Storage: Great Virtual Experience. Thanks for the great program and high-quality fitness material. You know your craft well. Thanks again! :)
Vanessa Silva
Vanessa Silva: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityTook part in their 21 day fitness and nutrition challenge during COVID! Super accessible and led by amazing trainers. Was especially impressed by Craig and his level of engagement with everyone in the process. Had so much more energy, feel stronger and have numbers to show the improvement. Thanks for the motivation, Precision Athletics!

Anytime Fitness: what do users think?
Amber Leffers
Amber Leffers: What a great gym! Has a never ending feel to it! Nice and spacious, multiple areas for free weights/stretching. Plenty of cardio equipment even during peak hours! The showers were super clean also as was the rest of the club. A lot of natural light too which is always a plus! Also staff was SUPER welcoming and friendly!
Queenzy Joi Teneza
Queenzy Joi Teneza: I went here last Tuesday hoping that I could try their 7 day pass but it turns out they only do 1 day complimentary. I hope they change it on their ads or website to stop false advertising. I really had high hopes to try the gym before signing up since the fee is no joke. There are a bunch of fees you need to pay when signing up which can go up to total of $170. The lady who gave me a tour is very nice. Maybe I would sign up in the future but not right now as it’s too expensive. $44+gst bi-weekly is no joke
Kynan Suttle
Kynan Suttle: Excellent staff!! 24 hours offers superb flexibility. The gym is very well equipped with just recently expanding into the next building so there are enough weights for everyone. Keep in mind, it tends to get fairly busy towards the evening (4-7pm). Price for membership works fine for me however, might be steep for others depending on their goals.Omar and the owner; Greg are always super helpful and friendly, this is my favourite location so far in Canada!
Marco Martinez
Marco Martinez: It's the largest Anytime Fitness that I have ever seen. They have a lot of equipment, racks, dumbbells etc. You can work out in what ever you want. Buuuuuuut! It's also the only Anytime Fitness that have NO parking! How can this be possible? Fortunately we arrive at 5am so we can park in the street and didn't park for it, BTW, the parking meters are free from 10pm to 8am.
Jed Spearing
Jed Spearing: Misleading marketingWebsite gladly takes your information promising a seven day trial except …… they don’t
Ana Elizabeth Carneiro Wanderley
Ana Elizabeth Carneiro Wanderley: I have used the gym 3-4 days per week since January 2023 and also have had the support from Lucy (PT). She is an amazing professional and so kind, always able to accommodate my limitations to the exercise. The equipment are pretty new, the gym is always clean and and the staff team very friendly. I really recommend them
Ron Graham
Ron Graham: I joined Anytime Fitness about three years ago. One of the big benefits of the AF brand is their many locations scattered around the world and the unlimited access to them. I travel extensively so I really appreciate this benefit.I've probably used over 30 AF locations and while they've all been quite acceptable, the False Creek location is my favorite. It's larger than the average AF and offers an extensive selection of excellent quality equipment. Importantly, Greg (the owner) and his team keep the place well maintained, clean/tidy, and disinfection wipes are readily available. They also replace the padded cushions on the equipment when the vinyl begins to crack and expose the sponge beneath it which otherwise becomes a breeding ground for bacteria. I've seen other gyms allow such deterioration to happen but not here, and I really appreciate that. I highly recommend Anytime Fitness in general but especially this location.
Kyle
Kyle: Modern equipment and a nice gym.
Tom St John
Tom St John: I'm not really a gym kinda guy but the staff here were really helpful so I'll def go back there
Ana Paola
Ana Paola: I’ve been to another location in Vancouver and two in Richmond and so far this is my favorite! Very clean and spacious.
Aurora B
Aurora B: The place is open 24hrs yet doesn't have someone on the desk 24hrs. The stairwell going up looks pretty beat. At night they request you wear a necklace alarm (which they provide) however, assistance is not immediate. It contacts the manager (I wasn't told how close or far away they are) and the fire dept. I was looking primarily for a gym that had later hours on the weekend so I could workout after work. I wouldn't feel safe here.
A
A: So apparently based on their website this gym is completely free. You don't need to pay for any memberships. Apparently I got to do is pay $1 and that's it there's no monthly cost. But it's also difficult to check on these details in person cuz I went there and there's no staff during the night time. Which is rather strange if there's ever an emergency with people utilizing the gym. It's highly dangerous actually since guests have no idea how the facility is built or organized.
Kart Tanya
Kart Tanya: More than 5stars!I give them 10000stars!!This fitness gym is amazing!!!!All the staffs are so kind and nice.Especially Greg, he's a store manager. He's the best person I've ever met. He's been helping me with payment from outside Canada. It was super helpful. For sure I'll come back here when I'm back to Canada.Thank you so much for your help my friend!!!!!
Logan
Logan: Best Anytime location I've been to. Spacious and filled with everything you need + included storage lockers. Multiple lifting racks and the nicest stair-machine I've ever used. Treadmills are also really nice
Navin
Navin: Awesome gym! Clean and Very well maintained. The personal trainers are always willing to go out of their way to help with 2 complimentary training sessions included. Overall a great experience!
Hussain Senior
Hussain Senior: Clean gym with newer equipment
Yassaman Malek
Yassaman Malek: Been a member here for almost 2 years and I have no complaints. Staff is so helpful and accommodating, gym is clean and has all necessary equipment. The recent expansion provides more space and area which is awesome!
Dan Gibbs
Dan Gibbs: Only take credit cards no option for cash month to month
Mike Mangan
Mike Mangan: I am a retired lawyer who rarely writes online reviews. Earlier, I wrote a positive review about the Anytime Fitness gym at Olympic Village. Their very recent expansion prompts me to comment again. After the large appliance store next door vacated their premises earlier this year, the gym expanded into their space. After months of construction, the gym’s new addition finally opened a few weeks ago. It feels like the gym has doubled in size.I use the gym late at night. Invariably, there is a pleasant, uncrowded atmosphere. The changing rooms and washrooms are spacious and clean. There are plenty of stations with hand sanitizer and pre-soaked wipes for cleaning equipment after use. The new cleaning person does a terrific job cleaning the facility every night.I’m sure that this expansion was expensive; in addition to incurring inflationary construction costs, the gym’s owner acquired more equipment. In the new addition, there are plenty of treadmills and strider-type machines, all with comfortable space between them. In the new addition, there are now two, large multi-function rigs, and racks with weight-lifting bars. There are lots of free weights and moveable benches. Much of the equipment is high quality, “Hammer Strength” brand. The weight-lifting areas have thick rubber flooring. It may be that some of the recently acquired equipment is not brand new, but that doesn’t matter to me. The equipment that I use is well maintained and in good working order. The club has only a few rules. I especially appreciate their rule against talking on one’s cell phone in workout areas. It’s so much more pleasant to exercise without having to listen to someone at the next station loudly conversing on their cell phone. I like that the gym’s owner enforces the rules.During construction of the addition, there were some inconveniences when areas were closed or equipment set aside or put in storage. On some days, there was visible dust from the alterations. I see that roughly one month ago, a person named Ertulgrul gave the gym a negative review after apparently visiting the gym during construction of the new addition. He wrote,I've been here a couple of years earlier and everything seem to have gone downhill since then. No towels, bathrooms were dirty, machines are now somewhat run down, the area is too small, though they are expanding? It’s unfortunate that Ertulgrul didn’t visit the gym a few weeks later, after the new addition opened. I’m expect that he would have had a much better experience.I am in my 60’s and I have nothing to gain by writing this review. I have regularly used gyms for roughly 40 years. I’ve been a member of the Anytime Fitness gym near Olympic Village for the last 15 months and I use the gym at least three times per week. I've never seen a gym so well managed and kept as this Anytime Fitness gym.
Ankush narwal
Ankush narwal: I didn’t get find parking here rest everything is amazing! Can you please tell me where I can park my car here?
Andrew Stevens
Andrew Stevens: Excellent gym, super welcoming, clean, spacious and great equipment. Love the style and atmosphere

All City Athletics: what do users think?
Tom Venables
Tom Venables: Wow!!Lisa and the rest of the underground athletics team are amazingly helpful in helping me find the right product.10oz FLY Superlace X gloves.I am so grateful that they bring these gloves to our shores. I’d recommend Underground Athletics and FLY boxing gloves 10/10 fir, form and function.KillerCheersTommy
Monica Yau
Monica Yau: I came across ACA through ClassPass, and decided to give boxing a try. Their studio is not the easiest to find, entrance is at a sketchy back alley full of urine and weed smell. But once you buzz in and go into the studio, it’s an entire different world. Dim lights, groovy music, cool decor that reminds me of a speakeasy pub. Laurie is very helpful with my hand wraps, I attended Jordan’s fundamental class and it’s amazing! He is a friendly patient guy who gives clear instructions, and comes to each individual to give us extra guidance and attention. Being a boxing virgin, I don’t feel intimidated at all. Classes are amazingly fun, I learn and sweat a lot. Thanks ACA!
Amber Shukaliak
Amber Shukaliak: Great workouts with stellar people. Jordan and Laurie are always welcoming and provide fun and challenging classes. Highly recommend!

Stephanie Ward-Mackay
Stephanie Ward-Mackay: I came ACA with experience boxing. It's a good balance between boxing technique, exercises to train like boxers, and HIIT intervals. It challenges my cardio every time and the variety of teacher styles is complimentary to each other. It's a different class every time, keeping it fresh and engaging.
Rhiannon Whitney
Rhiannon Whitney: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityAll City is such a cool Boxing studio! I feel so safe and welcome, Rob is a great teacher and the classes fly by and I get such an amazing work out! Thanks All City!

Kelsey Moss
Kelsey Moss: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityHighly recommend! I just completed my two week intro and will be staying around for more! The instructor’s are great at keeping you motivated and the community is welcoming to both beginners and pro’s. A great challenge in each class! Make sure to bring your sweat towel ; )
Christian K
Christian K: Positive:Professionalism,QualityGreat instructors and classes. Unlike some other studios, they focus on teaching some proper form and technique versus just getting a sweat.
Ayesha Renyard
Ayesha Renyard: Positive:QualitySuper happy with my experience at All City so far. Each teacher brings their unique flavour to a class, so I’m constantly feeling challenged and getting a good sweat in!
Melissa Woo
Melissa Woo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI've completed 5 classes (2 intro + 3 eight count) with various instructors. Loved every class! Such a good workout. The staff & instructors are so friendly & knowledgeable. My teenager came to an eight count class with me & he loved it too. I would highly recommended All City Athletics.
Dean Morris
Dean Morris: Positive:QualityLove ACA! The vibe can't be beat. Alley way entrance, underground boxing club feel, dark room, good tunes. The teachers are rad, and the classes are dope and guaranteed to get you dripping! Check out "Eight-Count" class for a full body workout that is accessible to everyone, regardless of experience. Also, they got sick merch.
Iman Hosseini
Iman Hosseini: All City Athletics is more than just a boxing club...its a community, a lifestyle! The private training session with Anna was such a blast and extremely helpful in teaching me the basics as a beginner and ensuring that I have proper technique. As for the group sessions, you really can't top the workout you get. The instructors are all phenomenal and unique in their own special ways, which makes each class different, yet as effective as the others. Joining All City has had a major positive impact on my life both physically and mentally and it's safe to say that I'm hooked! I would highly recommend it to anyone, whether beginner or expert.
Jeremy Goldberg
Jeremy Goldberg: Everyone who works here is a genuinely good human. They answer questions with patience. They support your growth. They help you improve. Overall, they care about you. And that's a wonderful environment to have when you're trying to make some changes in your life. If you've never boxed before, this place is the perfect place to start.

Functional Athletics Inc.: what do users think?
Bryce McRae
Bryce McRae: Great gym. Been going here for a few years now. Workouts are always a good mix of lifting and cardio. The Row classes are some of the toughest I’ve done. Coaches are all very friendly and super knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Nick Hearne
Nick Hearne: I couldn't be happier with my experience at Functional Athletics! The coaches are knowledgeable and supportive, the equipment is excellent, and the community is welcoming. The programming is challenging but scalable, so whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete, you'll be pushed to your limits in a safe and effective way. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to improve their fitness and be part of a great community. Five stars!
Daryl
Daryl: Highly recommended!!!The coaches at Functional Athletics are awesome and the other members are super friendly. The workouts are always changing, which is nice as you never get bored. I always leave feeling like I've had a tough workout, but in some weird way wanting to do it again.
doug conacher
doug conacher: I'm giving it 5 stars as there is not an option for more. I have been going to gyms for over 40 years and this is the best. Challenging workouts with friendly helpful owners and staff that will make you better. Friendly community vibe where everyone of all abilities will have fun.
Kirsten Parker-Sutton
Kirsten Parker-Sutton: FA is the best!! Such a great community of ppl, everyone super welcoming, instructors are awesome - helpful on ensuring proper form, workouts are challenging in a good way, app to book your workouts, small class size. Couldn’t recommend enough, if you’re thinking about joining a gym, this is the place to be.
Borna Arabi
Borna Arabi: Amazing family-owned business! Would rather train here any day than go to a commercial gym. It’s not the biggest gym, but there’s always plenty of space and the people are friendly. It was a long winter, but FA got us through it. We signed up for 3 monthsand I couldn’t be happier with the results. When I first started doing the exercises with my partner, I didn’t know too much about Crossfit. After the first 5 weeks of consistent training, I noticed an increase in strength and faster reflexes. My hand-eye coordination has also improved significantly over time, along with my endurance and ability to tolerate fatigue and pain. I really enjoyed their CrossFit and Row classes. Before, I was doing some of these workouts on my own, but it was here where I learned the proper techniques and form that go behind with it.At FA, they often incorporate cardio by using a combination of body weight exercises involving barbell/dumbbells that specialize in strength and mobility training. I was able to achieve my primary fitness goal of losing body fat, but not losing weight. I still weigh the same as before, but I don’t look the same. This is something I was never able to achieve on my own at a commercial without the knowledge of coaches. The gym is also very clean and the equipment they use is suitable for both beginners and high-intensity weightlifters. The benches and barbells are much better than the ones at commercial gyms.Thank you Coach Sean, Mike, Diego, Jorge, Sarah, Afeef, Marlon, Adam, Melissa, and Olena for all your support! If we come back to the North Shore, we’ll definitely sign up again. I recommend this gym to any novice Crossfitter who is looking for a challenge!
Nestor Fourik
Nestor Fourik: Functional Athletics is the gym to be at. With amazing coaches and excellent workout programming, it's perfect for all fitness levels. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting your fitness journey, you'll find classes and coaching to help you reach your goals while having a great time. The best part of this gym, however, is its warm and friendly community. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by familiar faces and genuine smiles. You feel connected to people and the gym, making it easier to stay motivated and committed. The camaraderie here is something else, you'll quickly find yourself immersed in a supportive environment that celebrates your achievements and encourages you to push beyond your limits. It's more than just a gym!
Dustin Noble
Dustin Noble: The best!
Juliette Fiszka
Juliette Fiszka: Excellent place to build a workout routine! My partner and I have been going to Functional Athletics for a year now and the schedule has many options to find a convenient moment to work out.The trainers and owners are super friendly and knowledgeable. I'm grateful for their patience to re-explain the different CrossFit moves when I don't remember them. And they make sure your moves are done correctly while giving you tips to improve.Besides being sore, I've never had injuries or body pain and I believe that the high quality of their warm-up is one of the reasons why (and they also have a yoga session on Sundays!). Glad we found you - Thank you for everything!
Vasant Iyer
Vasant Iyer: Functional Athletics is an amazing studio and the coaches are even more amazing. I was so scared of working out because of many preconceived notions about myself but I can't believe how far I've come in just a few weeks. If you're lucky, Sean, Mike, Sarah or one of the coaches might take you up on personal training but even if they might not have the time, the group classes more than make up for it. If you're like me and have been putting off getting in shape, visit their studio and do a free session.
Namwon Kim
Namwon Kim: "Awesome place to workout"When I first visited, I was worried because I couldn't speak English well, but the coaches explained slowly and well, and the atmosphere of the people working out together was very familiar. The WOD given every day is very well organized, and it shows how much the coaches have studied.Another good thing is that there are various programs, so you can do various training as well as CrossFit.
Jonathan Lloyd
Jonathan Lloyd: Good coaches and great gym. Very happy
Jody McPeak
Jody McPeak: Awesome gym, everything you need, very friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable! I was visiting from out of town and felt extremely welcomed. If I lived in North Van this would be a gem of a place for consistent workouts! I’ll visit again!
Jan Lehmann
Jan Lehmann: cooles Gym, nette Coaches, nicht optimale aber gute Lage, nicht grossflächig aber gut ausgestattet, in diesem Gym wurden die DC Stars für die CW Serien (Arrow…) trainiert
Chad Anderson
Chad Anderson: I’ve always weightlifted by myself but joining Functional Athletics and their group classes has really improved my cardio and mobility. The coaches make sure that form comes first and every workout is fun. Great community vibe.
Nadeen Boman
Nadeen Boman: Superior training and they have childcare!!Been going here for years and it's consistently the best gym in the lower mainland. Highly recommend!!
Daniel O Brien
Daniel O Brien: Great place and welcoming of new comers! Went today and gave me a complimentary welcome session. Thanks guys
Erin Nutbeam
Erin Nutbeam: Awesome staff and members. Make you feel welcome at any fitness level.
Gordon Hatusupy
Gordon Hatusupy: We started personal training a couple of months ago with coach Sean. It has been a great experience! I’m a beginner in the gym and Sean keeps an eye on form and explains everything really well. It’s challenging but I can tell that I’m improving every week. Awesome gym and people that work there are super friendly!
Shannon Zambo
Shannon Zambo: Fantastic gym! Great people and coaching.
KASTLES
KASTLES: I cannot speak to the gym itself, but I can speak to the owner being a right jerk. I’m a courier driver, who parked in the underground parking near V-Nam just long enough to pick up an order. This jerk follows me into the restaurant to insist I move my car and tries to dictate that the employee at said neighbouring business refuse to give me my order so I can leave until I do so. There were 9 open spots and he was closed in 90 minutes.I am also new to the area and didn’t know there was parking further down, since he has “reserved” even the alleyway parking. He was not respectful or friendly and I wouldn’t go to his gym if he paid me to. Kindness and patience are free. I suppose those are things this business owner only cares to provide if you pay for them. Conflict resolution skills, nonexistent. The staff at the restaurant apologized to me for his grossly appalling behaviour. I was just about to drop money for two year-long memberships. Dodged that bullet.

Equinox West Georgia Street: what do users think?
HereForYou
HereForYou: It’s quite busy here. The front desk greeters are quite slow and always seem to not know what’s going on when I interact with them… Trainers and facilities are great. The classes are meh.. since there is such a wide variety, don’t expect them to be really high quality. If you want a great spin class, go to a spin studio.. same for yoga, boxing, pilates. But it’s convenient that it’s all in one place and you can try your hand at different activities.
Saman Saadat
Saman Saadat: Cancelled after being one of their first membera. Great place to workout with amazing instructors but got toooo busy in the past few months so the service got really bad
Blakelock Brown
Blakelock Brown: Lorcan is the best trainer I’ve ever worked with! This location also has amazing amenities & atmosphere (more upscale than most other Equinox locations).
Tejinder Mann
Tejinder Mann: Website does not give pricing or just hard to find . Waste people's time. Will not be joining. Need more transparency.
Erik Johnson
Erik Johnson: A popular, large, newish Equinox with solid amenities. Wet and dry sauna, large changing rooms, and lounge area with fireplace. A bit crowded at peak times; try to go off-peak if possible.
Felipe Beltrán
Felipe Beltrán: The Club and the staff are amazing!! Maddy was so kind and informative while showing me around and she has become my “go-to” person if I have any questions. 20/10 would recommend
Marion Senez
Marion Senez: Maddy Kenwood at Equinox West Georgia in Vancouver was our first contact person in the club. She was fabulous! She gave my husband and I a wonderful, comprehensive tour of the gorgeous facility, clearly very proud to be the excellent Equinox Ambassador that she is. Her warm and friendly personality is charming. She didn’t pressure us at all, and followed up nicely with an email afterwards thanking us for our interest. We both joined the club the next day and have since loved waving to her in her office before and after the classes that we are enjoying.Maddy is a gem. Equinox is lucky to have her!!
Gary Senez
Gary Senez: Maddy gave us a tour of Equinox last summer, and I was sold! I’m delighted to say that my experience has significantly exceeded my expectations and the commitments made by Maddy. I have been going to gyms for over 40 years, in Winnipeg, Toronto, and Vancouver as well as many high end hotels around the world, and Equinox outranks them all. The facilities are impeccably clean with best in class equipment. The staff are extremely friendly, and the trainers are terrific. As an “older” member they have adapted programs for all fitness levels. Equinox is more costly than other gyms in the city, but well worth the premium, in my opinion.
Luca N
Luca N: Update: NO space during weekday 5-7pm. Monday is the worse don’t have any space to work out. I Stopped going on Monday. Could not find empty locker at a glance, had to wait someone to leave. Some Classes are filled in A less than a MUNITE !! Worst situation continues..they've signed up way too much for the SMALL gym space. It is overly crowded. You won't be able to do a workout you want if you go around 5-7pm, even hard to pass beside people, this small space is just fully fully packed.cleaning is not catching up, lack of towels and washroom was gross. Also, the classes get full so quickly with a long waiting list.Didn't expect this busy . I don't think it's worth for what you are paying for. At least they should explain this ridiculously crowded situation to the people before sign up to be fair( of course they don't .. I wish I knew this.. I should have read more negative reviews before sign in)I can not believe they are still trying to get more people sign in.If your schedule is flexible and can visit daytime avoid rush hour it is a good gym, maybe. otherwise welcome to the zoo.If you read this before sign up, THINK about it ! and don’t be frustrated for a year contract like me. I with I did better research..
Fabian Morales
Fabian Morales: extremely crowded!!!!! The weight room is not very big and it gets really busy, all the equipment taken and seems like it’s getting busier and busier by the day. When I joined Equinox, I explained that that was the reason I was leaving my previous gym only to find it is getting worse by the day here.Seems like management doesn’t care and keep signing up new members, the problem they don’t have the space! Looker rooms are always packed and hard to find an empty one…I rarely write reviews but it is frustrating, if you mind crowds and waiting for equipment, think twice before joining!!!! I really wish I had read the one-star reviews before committing for one year! BEWARE!
Michael O Brien
Michael O Brien: Recently on-boarded by Elis in their membership department. She provided answers to all my questions and allowed for a pretty seamless transition into a new gym. Excellent facilities, great classes and good staff make this gym worth the fees!
Breezy B
Breezy B: Best gym In town!!Love being a member here.Elis signed me up and she was amazing,10/10 recommend
Malika Melashenko
Malika Melashenko: Modern cozy gym with variety of group classes through the day from early morning till evening. Thanks to Elis whom I met on my first visit, she showed me around and explained everything. Can get crowded evenings and I would add reverse kickback machine, but pricing is fine.
Anastasiya Dolce
Anastasiya Dolce: Wow it’s an amazing place to give your body and soul well deserved retreat . Replenish with incredible energy whether by doing high intensity classes , yoga and barre leaded by highly skilled instructors and upbeat music or exercising on your own on the floor using high end equipment.I am delighted with friendly top notch professional service starting at the entrance . Incredible cleanliness ,my favourite eucalyptus towels and Kohl’s bath and body care. My program coordinator lovely Maddy guided me thoroughly through Equinox facility always open to organize my friends first visits making sure they have a one of a kind experience!Very convenient body energy club on the side to refuel with delicious smoothies snacks and meals. Can’t have enough of this place ! It’s very addicting!
Karla Daniella Diaz Navarro
Karla Daniella Diaz Navarro: Equinox West Georgia is gorgeous! Facilities, crew members and trainers are top notch! Thanks to Maddy Kenwood for showing me the facilities 9 months ago, her charisma and excellent approach to show the facilities to me and my partner helped us to make the final decision to join the best gym in town!
Владислав Исаев
Владислав Исаев: Absolutely not enough equipment or space even on Sunday evening, I am not saying anything about workday after 5 pm as there is no even space on floor
Nicholas
Nicholas: Definitely an unnecessary luxury at ~$240/mo, but it’s kept me working out like no other gym has and it really is a great experience if you take advantage of everything they offer
Mateo Giron
Mateo Giron: The community at this gym is incredibly strong. That’s important in such a city which often feels like communal relations are weaker than a lot of other places in this country. Aside from the amenities and classes which can be found at other locations in Canada, the people at this location are worth it.The gym can sometimes get busy but most of the time it is not overcrowded. I rent a locker and pay for laundry service, so I don’t have to worry about locker space. They’re generally pretty good about getting your clothes cleaned and returned to your locker within 24 hours.I go nearly every day and the staff are always amazing. They basically all know my name (even if I don’t know theirs) and will get stuff done. I’ve never been told that something is not possible, they always find a solution.Geoff, who manages all the classes is the most productive person I have met. He knows so many people’s names and his classes are always perfectly challenging and achievable.I am especially happy that Maddy Kenwood is my membership coordinator! She is one of the most pleasant and welcoming people that I have met who brightens the day of everyone she interacts with. There are also a bunch of charismatic, professional and learned teachers. The standout trainers are:Zachary Fiordio–extremely charismatic and motivating.Christie Baumgartner–who always challenges you with new yoga flows.Chelsea Wissink–the funniest, and most personable one of them all.Davi Teixeira–Who gives the best, most detailed instruction. As well as Krystina Kodesh & Todd Randall.Todd is the best movement teacher I have had. He teaches Vinyasa and Power Yoga a couple times a week. His flows vary from class to class, but it feels like his foundation is consistent and challenging. My body has never consistently felt so good than how it feels after each class that he teaches. He suggests micro-movements to ameliorate your stance and posture which make my stances and flows more powerful and safer every time. Each class I gain strength while my body feels relaxed and restored.I’d recommend joining if you’re interested in the classes or in the strong community!
Lacrecia Allison
Lacrecia Allison: I am totally happy with this gym. I was a member a long time ago. I decided to rejoin and I have to say it’s the best decision. Thank you very much to Maddy who helped me with getting started again and totally encouraging and boosting my enthusiasm. I especially enjoy the one on one training and the Pilates classes. Of course the cold and scented towels just adds to the completeness of my workout routine.
Gordon Price
Gordon Price: Five stars for the five best features of the best gym I've been to: (1) Staff, especially the trainers. If only I had this kind of coaching when I started working out. (2) Maintenance. Amenities are only great if they're kept clean and in good condition. These are. (Hey, scented towels!) (3) People watching. The lobby is one of the best-designed interior spaces in the city, along with the Energie bar, that makes hanging out and checking out the clientele (one of the most diverse in a diverse city) a pleasure. Equinox may have a rep for stand-offishness, but not my experience. Think of the sauna as a conversation pit. (4) Progamming. More options than I know what to do with. (5) Sound design. What can make the overall environment annoying if too loud or the music inappropriate can also be motivating, Not an easy balance to find, and most of the time it is.Okay, the down side: (1) Yup, it's expensive - the business class of gyms. For me, it's been worth it. (2) Too small - a boutique gym. Okay if it's not too crowded, but often it is. (3) Locker room - an exception to the high quality of design. Too tight, with an awful locking system that makes it easy to forget where your locker is and what the combo was. (4) Limited equipment, especially dumbbells. Need more of 'em with 'in-between' weights, like 12.5. (5) More passes for guests and to Equinoxes in other cities. Too few over a year. Most of the negatives are a consequence of its popularity and size. But the quality of the staff (hey Maddy, Aivan, Nico and y'all at the front desk!) offset that for me.
Kabir Brar
Kabir Brar: First class gym including amenities, equipment, membership classes, etc. The staff have been friendly and supportive. Big shoutout to Elis for being so helpful and making the transition to Equinox seamless.

Elite Performance Fitness: what do users think?
Declan Burke
Declan Burke: My partner and I did the 3 month transformation program with Alex. It was fantastic. Alex really helped with my mobility and guided us through getting stronger every week (I can now just about do a muscle-up). The gym is welcoming with all the trainers providing a great workout environment. Cannot recommend enough
Cheryl McNeight
Cheryl McNeight: Jared is incredibly knowledgeable and very attentive to your individual needs for an exercise program. I would highly recommend him to help anyone wanting to reach their personal fitness goals!
farshad boostani
farshad boostani: TJ was the trainer for my HIIT fit class and he is absolutely amazing! He taught and corrected me multiple times; he is vigorous and I could feel the emotional energy and the liveliness during the class which led to very high levels of endorphin!💪Everything else was great as well, cleanliness, punctuality etc.
Eric Lau
Eric Lau: Great gym with awesome classes and trainers. I broke an awesome sweat and learned something. They have a jump rope class run by Coach Andrea, it was an awesome session of cardio and good vibes.
Agnes Douglas
Agnes Douglas: Rez has been my personal trainer for the past 5 1/2 years. We trained through Covid online.I'm very pleased with the results I'm achieving with Rez as my trainer. He keeps me motivated and focused. He has a natural ability to get the most out of me even when my motivation is low. He always seems to make working out enjoyable. He is patient and has a great sense of humor. Rez is very knowledgable in maintaining good living and a healthy diet. "We don't diet, we change our eating habits". This has been a life changer for me.I am very comfortable in referring Rez for a personal trainer and ElitePerformance (EP) for a great place to workout. It's clean and the staff are all friendly, making working out comfortable and fun.Agnes
Annaline Munoz
Annaline Munoz: I’ve been going here for years. Rez, my trainer, is always accommodating and available and has a pretty good jawline 😉.Lance, the owner, and the entire staff treats me like family. Love it here. Highly recommended for any fitness level.
Alessandro Alloisio
Alessandro Alloisio: My husband and I signed in for semi-private training sessions and we’re having a great time. Our coach is Jared Pearson and he’s an amazing trainer, very dedicated and professional. He’s following us closely and he’s safely pushing our boundaries outside the comfort zone. Results are quite over expectations for body and mindset and it’s exactly what we needed. 5 stars!
Nabeel Rizvi
Nabeel Rizvi: Nice gym, everyone's friendly and fosters a nice environment. Too expensive tho, hard to justify the process
Jason Boparai
Jason Boparai: I love coming to rez’s classes, he really gets the most out of you every workout. Great environment, no other gym I rather go to besides here.
Sahra Homayounian
Sahra Homayounian: I have been to Elite Performance HIIT classes before COVID, and I greatly enjoyed the vibe and classes. Six years ago, I had a very bad experience with a personal trainer, which caused me a shoulder injury. Since then, I have been doing pilates and Lagree, afraid of weight training. Finally, I decided to give weight training another shot, and I started training with Jared Pearson. I was very peaky on a trainer, and Jared’s experience got my attention. Since I started a couple of months ago, I’m seeing a steady improvement in the weak areas of my body and overall strength and fitness. Jared is very fun but disciplined. He is very knowledgeable and understanding and will go above and beyond to motivate you and ensure you will reach your goals. I would highly recommend Elite Performance and Jared Pearson. 😊
Reena Sian
Reena Sian: I was always hesitant about getting a personal trainer as I was worried they would be pushy and create unrealistic goals for me, especially after having my first child. My husband had been going to Rez for personal training for quite some time and convinced me to try it out. Rez was anything but pushy, but instead is considerate, has helped me work toward my fitness goals, and has a great sense of humour! I’ve been seeing Rez weekly for almost 2 years now, including through my second pregnancy. I would recommend that anyone go see him for their personal fitness goals! He’s awesome! Thanks Rez!
Kristina Mansveld
Kristina Mansveld: EP is awesome. For years, I have looked forward to their classes as an awesome beginning or end to my day. I have also had great personal training from Sarah Bellwood. She takes a very caring but tough approach to helping you reach your goals! Highly recommend.
Angela L
Angela L: I've been training with Sarah Bellwood since February and I cannot recommend her enough. Sarah goes way above and beyond with designing the program and invests herself into understanding each individual's goal. I came to Sarah because I was struggling with sleep and energy. Ever since I started training with her I've noticed significant improvement in my energy levels and athletic performance. I'm the strongest I've ever been and each session I feel stronger than the last. Sarah is definitely tough so don't get tricked by her lovely smile - but it does get me through those painful cardio sessions. If you're hesitant about getting a personal trainer, you will not be disappointed with Sarah :)
Joel Giffen
Joel Giffen: I have been going to Ep for nearly 3 years. The classes are challenging and a lot fun!For the past 18 months, I have been doing personal training sessions with Sarah Bellwood. The experience has been nothing short of wonderful! She has a great positive mood and is motivating during our workouts. She holds a wealth of knowledge on training, nutrition and overall best health practices. Sarah was able to personalize both a fitness and nutrition plan based on my needs, abilities, previous injuries and personal fitness goals.I love the physical and mental results it has got me and look forward to building on our relationship. I would recommend Sarah to any of my friends and family!
Airsawat Sawatdang
Airsawat Sawatdang: My friend who works out here for so many years invited me to join him. I don't work out often and don't even know the name of any gym equipment. I was worried at first but it turned out so fun 😃. Felix is amazing. He run the entire class while making sure each of us did each exercise correctly. The washroom is clean and full of quality toiletries. They provide towel and lockers but you need to bring your own lock.
Gareth
Gareth: Great gym. I have really enjoyed training with Jared at Elite Performance. Have never been able to train consistently due to recurring injury until I started going to Jared. Seeing steady improvements in my overall strength and fitness as the weeks progress. Would recommend!
Caitlin McKinnon
Caitlin McKinnon: Love this place! Great community atmosphere that stems from their helpful and welcoming trainers, who keep the focus on proper technique. Classes are challenging and fun, but offer something for all skill levels. I always look forward to working out at Elite Performance!
William Wright
William Wright: Great space and great team! I love the powerfit classes here in particular 💪🏽
ben
ben: I have been doing personal training with Jared for almost a year now. Over this period I have greatly improved my movement and strength while also removing some small injuries/imbalances. I strongly recommend you check out Elite Performance for your personal training.
Aldre Keyzar
Aldre Keyzar: Hands down the best gym to go to whatever your goals are. Love the vibe of the classes, the friendly trainers, high quality equipments, and overall fitness programs (group or personal) that they offer. The trainers are very knowledgeable and accommodating to whatever the fitness goal is. Love the place!
Meriem Latrous
Meriem Latrous: One of my favourite gyms in Vancouver. I can always count on EP to work me hard and for the instructors to correct my form. I always look forward to working out here!

Raincity Athletics - Strength & Conditioning: what do users think?
Jordan Wyatt
Jordan Wyatt: Honestly a fantastic community to be a member of (since summer 2022). The cross-section of people at Raincity is diverse and welcoming. The camaraderie between members, regardless of experience, is excellent and the coaches are fun and engaging. I would highly recommend this place!
Chris Xander Rinaldi
Chris Xander Rinaldi: - cilquey- poor accommodation for disable and deaf people.- olympic weightlifting class is poor.- crossfit classes are pushy.- price is too expensive. They made me lose my motivation and I didn't want to continue working out at RainCity Athletics anymore. After all, I asked them for refund, but they refused. Shame on them.
Arsen Pelekh

Raskle 604
Raskle 604: My name is Joe Currie I’ve been going to this gym since Feb 2021 (I think) I love my gym I would highly recommend this gym for all levels of fitness and skill! They have something for every one. the programming and coaches have helped me and continue to help me reach my goals and then some. The community and coaches are super friendly and helpful and there’s even a turtle named pong that is there occasionally. Couldn’t ask for much more from a gym.

Kassie Harder
Kassie Harder: Everything about Raincity athletics is amazing, they really go over and above to make sure all of their members have a great experience. The coaching is fantastic, each and every coach there takes the time to make sure everyone understands the workout and the movements. The community is very welcoming and friendly, I love that they have events where we can get to know each other outside of our regular workout times. The response to covid restrictions has also been over and above, quickly adapting to the ever changing rules, keeping members updated and finding ways to make sure there are safe workout options, even during closures.

Since then, coaches give me feedback in both complex and simple movements. Groundwork Athletics Inc: what do users think?
linda marieskind
linda marieskind: I didn't go here just researched
Ghazal
Ghazal: Booked a Conditioning + Core class through ClassPass with Alfonso and I’m very happy with the choice. The studio is located near Vancouver City Centre skytrain station and provides personal training. The class I attended was a small one with 3 students. It included several circuits with a combination of cardio and weights. Alfonso regularly checked on us and made sure to guide each of us based on our needs.I do recommend checking them out!
Jonny Warkentin
Jonny Warkentin: Had such a great experience training with Nathan Lee @ Groundwork. He immediately identified key mobility issues that were contributing to my lower back issues, and systematically worked on them. Highly recommend!
Ry Hickey
Ry Hickey: Fantastic gym. Knowledgeable and approachable trainers. Well organized facility. Love this place!
Andrei Stadnyk
Andrei Stadnyk: My review is specific to powerlifting. Nathan Lee has been an invaluable trainer/coach. If you are looking for corrections on form, programming, etc look no further, you've found your guy.
George Perianu
George Perianu: 2 years ago I had a bad injury to my back & hand. I’ve been dealing with Nathan Lee. He helped me a lot!! Now I feel much better. He’s a very good kinesiologist
Olivia J
Olivia J: Great environment with wonderful people, including for those with anxieties surrounding the gym. They've recently expanded their services to include injury rehabilitation / treatment, and Nathan (Kinesiologist) is fantastic at his job; I highly recommend GWA if you're looking for professional, personable, and effective treatment - or even a personal trainer, because Nathan does that too! :)
Mac @Elementus Wealth
Mac @Elementus Wealth: Feleen is my personal trainer and Kate is my nutrition coach. I love them both to bits. They've helped me so much!Detailed review:Prior to working with Feleen and Kate, I hit a plateau on my fitness journey and was trending downwards. I got complacent when it comes my training and I ate whatever. Feleen developed a training routine that is flexible and complimentary to what I was already doing. My performance for both strength and cardio massively improved. I can now lift heavier (squats, deads, press). I can play tennis sets back to back for 3 hours with more explosiveness and tenacity without getting exhausted.Nutrition also plays a huge part in my fitness improvement. Kate has been working with me on my eating habits. After working with Kate for 3 months, I've adopted a new healthy lifestyle and I can still have fun with what I eat! I went from 158 lbs to 143 lbs in 3 months (15 lbs loss) and still gained muscle mass.Openly, I was very unhappy with myself and had a massive loss in confidence before Feleen and Kate. They helped me become happy and gain confidence in myself again :)
Tara Worthy
Tara Worthy: Came on a ClassPass and they treated me like part of the community; friendly and welcoming. The class was tough but well paced. Instructor gave personalized feedback to everyone.
Gabriel Favero Personal
Gabriel Favero Personal: Awesome place, awesome people!Donny and his staff are fantastic!
Christine Valdes
Christine Valdes: Best training gym in the lower mainland! Incredibly motivating trainers who are heavily educated and accredited. Very competitive pricing and all COVID cleaning and safety protocols in place. I've been coming here for 5 years. Highly recommend.
Arlene MacDonald
Arlene MacDonald: Great individual training areas. Safe distancing in place. Easier to workout and stay focused
Auret Esselen
Auret Esselen: I've been training with Clay at Groundworks for almost a year now and I can honestly say I feel the strongest and most comfortable in my body now than I've ever felt in my life. Clay keeps me accountable and continues to push my levels of strength & endurance, while meticulously checking form to prevent any injuries (no matter how many times I've done the same exercise before). Every session is different so I always feel challenged and never bored like I normally would at another gym. I also love how it's not an intimidating or cold environment - the staff and other trainers are all friendly and welcoming. If you're on the fence about training at Groundworks, just know you're in good hands here, no matter what level of fitness you're at - invest the money in yourself and your well-being. It's well worth it.
helen lam
helen lam: Since coming to GWA in May, I’ve noticed significant gains in my fitness and body shape. All of the trainers are professional, knowledgeable and really take the time to make sure your form is accurate. They listen to your goals and help you achieve them without being pushy. I always look forward to coming to train whether it’s for a 1:1 with Ale or the group classes.
Donald McPherson
Donald McPherson: I haven't gone to a gym in 12 years and was worried about being pushed too hard or feeling out of place as has happened in previous attempts. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming which makes it very easy to go.Kate is great at planning a work out that pushes me without killing me. This is the first time I've ever looked forward to going to the gym.
Drew Cooper
Drew Cooper: A great gym where all of the staff a very friendly and create a fun and non-judgmental environment to improve your fitness and wellbeing. After just a few weeks I can see and feel the difference in my body. Kate listens and adjusts the workouts as necessary to push me but not break me. I always feel energized after a workout and look forward to the new challenges set each time I come in. I would definitely recommend trying this place out for anyone, both beginners and advanced alike.
DSoozy
DSoozy: Amazing facility!!

Wayne Scott
Wayne Scott: Nice clean updated place.
jules conejero
jules conejero: Really clean and well equipped facility with an exceptional staff. I've been to many group classes and personal training before and their trainers really pay attention to everyone making sure they get the most out of their workout. They give you tips for improvement that carry on outside the gym. Once you start coming here you end up becoming a part of their community as a bonus.
Eddie Hall
Eddie Hall: If you are looking for a first class facility and a great trainer - Uli Webster at GWA is incredible! Knowledgable and personal - she gets to know you very well to help you achieve your fitness goals. I would highly recommend training with Uli and the team at GWA!

Essentials of Athletics: what do users think?
Donna Delgado
Donna Delgado: The staff there is great. They're friendly and helpful. The place is kept clean, their equipment is well kept and other members are usually very friendly.
Daniel Cook (CooksChronicles)
Daniel Cook (CooksChronicles): First the good: good student discount, helpful staff, manageable app, plenty of equipment in a very spacious gym, helpful trainers, and no contract. Really good place to work out, especially if you're into power lifting or crossfit style stuff, or need a trainer (for any age or ability, I saw them happily training everyone from grannies to huge buff dudes). Now the areas for improvement: The app works, but its very slow and clunky and is poorly designed so you have to get used to it. The bathrooms could use some maintenance and more regular cleaning (replace the broken door locks, maybe a coat of paint, some febreeze?).Finally my reason for leaving: I don't have a credit card, don't need one so I don't have one. When I signed up, this wasn't an issue, I just paid monthly with my debit card, no problem. Suddenly, my app stopped letting me book sessions and said I needed to enter my credit card info. I went in to sort it out and was told that they now require credit cards for everything. I asked if there was a workaround and was referred to some guy who I assume was the head manager. This dude rudely told me that "people without credit cards don't pay" and the only way I would be able to continue was to pay extra in advance, and that I should have already been informed of this (I wasn't). He wasn't able to give me a clear explanation of the new charging system or show me a written copy of the new policy- and even on the new policy I would have been shut out of the app anyway, leaving me no other option to schedule sessions over the phone. I understand that this is an edge case and 95% of people have a credit card, so if you have one, ignore this. If you don't have one, they clearly don't want your business and the manager guy will be rude about it.Nothing against anyone else working there though, the rest of the staff was excellent and friendly! Also plenty of parking and super close to the skytrain station/greenway path so it's super convenient for commuters.Update months later - they sent me an email wishing me a happy anniversary of a year attending their gym. Clearly they don't really understand why I left. Not a great sign that their management has improved in the past 9 months 😂
Dean Neuls
Dean Neuls: Best facility in Lower Mainland
Justin M
Justin M: This is the best gym in town if you’re serious about getting in shape and just getting shi*t done. Sure, it doesn’t have fancy showers, towel service or $15 smoothies for sale, but it does have amazing trainers who are all down to earth and are committed to achieving results. I lost around 12lbs of fat and gained 8-9lbs of muscle. Their daily progressive programs and classes drive results and they adjust based on your level and experience. I can’t say enough about the trainers, Ror, CJ, Alysha - all first class. At first I was intimidated by all the squat racks, but after learning the basics in their EOA classes, I’ll never join another commercial, mainstream gym again where I find myself to be waiting and watching more than moving and working!
Ahina Yoga with Jum
Ahina Yoga with Jum: Excellent facility for those looking for professional, yet open to any level fitness. Their focus is on small group classes (under 10 people), personal training, and specialty programs, such as body transformation, or maximal strength, or sports specific. They also give you access to the whole gym anytime, unlike all the other group class places like Orange Theory, CrossFit, F45, etc that only allow you to be in classes. This means I don't need 2 memberships. I also love that they add in FREE classes like the Barbell Club for free, and have a number of seminars and educational workshops all the time.I've seen a few recent disgruntled reviews on here from former members who are upset that this gym with 23 SQUAT RACKS! TURF! TIRES! HEAVY BAGS, TONS OF SPACE, and all the FREE workshops and classes raised their prices after a certain pandemic, BUT they are obviously missing the EXTREME amounts of value that is now there. If you don't come to the monthly FREE workshops, the FREE classes, or FREE events like their recent Sauna & Ice Bath, and instead just want to come in with your hat down, earphones in, and not be part of a bigger community, you probably do belong at a cheaper community center or save your $20-30 and go to a gym where if you're lucky you get 3 racks, or 2 benches.I for one, LOVE the equipment, accountability, coaching, community, and education I get here. Not to mention, they even have their own professional podcast, NO OTHER GYM I HAVE EVER SEEN ANYWHERE DOES THIS.
Hong Mai
Hong Mai: Update: Sept 2022After 2 plus years, I have decided to leave the gym for 2 big reasons. The first is monthly membership has doubled and the value for price is just not there anymore. Compared to other gyms you aren't really getting good value for example other gyms at this price point would have towel service, suana, multiple showers, air conditioning etc.The second reason I have decided to leave is the direction of the operations. When I joined I was referred and the process was pretty straight forward no pressure come try the gym if you like sign up, no contracts everything simple. Recently I referred a couple of friends because they wanted to join a gym. Unfortunately they were put through a "time share" type of presentation and attempted to be sold a personal training package. They were told for safety reasons they needed a personal trainer, which I guess makes sense but at the end they were told if they paid a big joiners fee they could bypass the personal training, which threw the safety explanation out the door. That turned them and myself off. They joined another gym.I think they have shifted to more personal training and group fitness stuff so people looking for a gym to work out alone or with friends will find better options. It's unfortunate to have to leave. It was great while it lasted!Better late then never. Been training here for 2 years. GREAT GYM if you are a newbie to a pro, great staff and members, non intimidating for the new members. Personal Squat Racks, Sled, balls, everything you need for functional training and health! They also have a rehab clinic side as well! Hands down better then a commercial Gym if you just want to get the work in!
Juztin L
Juztin L: Great gym. Just the price increase is insane. First year I signed up I just missed the $530ish 1 year membership price. I ended up paying $660.=$55/month (June 2021). Come June 2022 Price increased to $830= $69/month. now I get a email saying its going to be $1100= $99/month(sept 2022). I get they added classes and painted the place but it doesn't justify $99/mon for only having a squat rack, free weights and a cable machine. $1100 a year I can buy my own squat rack. Now I have to find a new gym.
Justin Bull
Justin Bull: Great gym and friendly staff. Love the open space and range of equipment.
L Chan
L Chan: We used to enjoy training at this facility. But I agree with another reviewer that the administration is terrible.
A Cure For Happiness
A Cure For Happiness: I miss the workplace environment. Was very chill.
bhavin gohel
bhavin gohel: Best gym in town, hands down. Great staff, great equipment, well designed layout to give you lot of space to perform your workout. I love their advance booking feature to make sure you always have your rack ready and distribute the traffic. They also have great trainers and my favorite is Damian. Damian has great knowledge about mechanics of all exercises and takes time explaining how and why. He teaches great fundamentals first and then builds on top of it to make sure you can make continuous progress on your own. He never tracks his time and goes above and beyond to make sure you get great workout in. The only down side, he is a Warriors fan ;).
Evan Quan
Evan Quan: Equipment:22 squat racks, extra barbells, loads of plates, sufficient cardio machines (about 15), tons of dumbbells up to 100lbs, kettlebells up to 50lbs, a whole batting cage, and a turf 6x60 foot runway and very spacious inside the gym floor. The flooring is very grippy and most of the equipment is kept clean except for sometimes the medicine balls are worn out but still usable.Price:Its a limited contract membership (30 day grace period for cancellations) which is great. Just remember to actually confirm you are cancelling by giving them proof through e-mail to cancel, not just asking the front desk For students its $50 a month and for regular members its around $60 I believe. There is a $25 bi-annual facility improvement fee. There is an initiation fee which I believe was somewhere around $50 to $80 but I cant remember. That basically just includes a free personal training sessions with one of the trainersPersonal Training:I am not sure, I am more of a independent type of gym goer, so I would look at other reviews for that one. What I did notice while in the gym that all the trainers were very lively and happy to accommodate any needs a person may have. They seem to work within your capabilities and not make you do things that have little benefit or could possibly do harm.Environment:The atmosphere is good. The speaker system just got updated but it kind of projects towards only one side of the gym. At least the music they play is gym worthy in my opinion (pop, hip-hop, edm). The times I go which is around 4:30 pm on weekdays and in the afternoon on weekends have few people in the gym. At most, there has probably only been around 20-24 people max at one time. And since there is only 22 squat racks and a limited number of machines otherwise, that makes sense. The gym-goers are friendly and nobody really seems to judge anyone which makes it easy to focus on my personal goals. Also, you can drop the weights and nobody will care because 95% of the plates are bumpers. Just try not to grunt too loud because people will care about that.Bathrooms/Changerooms:There are 2 pretty tiny washrooms. And the bigger one is kind of worn down. There is a shower in one of the washrooms but I would not be using it anytime soon and the toilet has a water leakage beside it I think... (there is always a puddle of water underneath the trash can beside the toilet sooo). If you can, try and come to the gym changed and ready to go. If that is not possible, try and use the bathroom on the south side of the gym, it is nicer but smaller.Gym Hours are decent. I mean, if you work a standard work schedule during the day, there should be no issues. However, someone who can only workout late at night (10pm or later) or early in the morning (6 am or earlier) would want to find a different place. There are not really any amenities. But they are in the same building as East Vancouver Sports and Rehabilitation Clinic. I have heard only great things about that clinic, so give them a try while you are at it. Travail also runs out of the batting cage attached to the gym. Good luck finding a time where the batting cage is not being used by them. Luckily that is why the main gym has a very long turf runway for any movements your heart desires. This gym is place where you come to focus for 60-90 minutes, do a workout, and leave. But for some people like myself, I do not mind that. The booking system is not the best. However, if you can manage to book the day before, it will make everything easier. Some racks seem to always be taken because of persona trainers. If you want a rack 90% of the time, look for numbers #18-22 because they are have less features than the other ones, but do the job well enough.Overall this gym is very detail oriented and they genuinely care about their customers well-being and health. If there are two things they could do better, it would be updating their washrooms and possibly getting more of those northern lights bumper plates instead of the yorks because the yorks take up a LOT of space on the barbells.
Andrei Gerasimenko
Andrei Gerasimenko: Good place for real athletes. One day I met there Brenden Dillon (NHL).
victoria carriquiriborde
victoria carriquiriborde: Great gym, horrible administration.I used this gym for months, even befriended some of the staff. When I went to cancel my membership because I was moving they told me it was done. But surprise surprise they charged me for 2 more months because I hadn't sent an email. Moral of the story, send an email if you want to cancel the account, otherwise they will screw you over.
Vladyslav Shokun
Vladyslav Shokun: Really good gym, the staff is friendly. Really!But..! The APP for booking is a complete garbage. It was the reason i left this gym. Just couldn't bear it anymore...
Ali Rasekh
Ali Rasekh: Positive:Professionalism,Qualitygreat gym and friendly staff. very spacious and pleasant ambience. highly recommended!
Nick Sanchez
Nick Sanchez: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityAwesome gym with 20 squat racks, staff is great - special shout out to Katie she is awesome! Also fantastic physio here, Justin Mazzai helped me so much pre and post ACL surgery. 5 minute walk from Renfrew station as well, highly recommend this gym.
David Smythe
David Smythe: Great place to work out.
Todd Griffin
Todd Griffin: The gym is amazing.... The app you use to book is awful. You have to go through and try and book each rack before you can see what time it's available. Instead of picking what time you want to go, and seeing what's available. Spend more time trying to get a rack booked than I do working out. Until it's fixed I can't recommend getting a membership here and I will probably cancel because it doesn't seem like they're going to fix it.
Ror Alexander
Ror Alexander: Not a gym, a proper S&C facility! Calling it a gym is an insult to this AMAZING facility.
