Frankie's Jazz Club: what do users think?
Kingsley Bailey
Kingsley Bailey: The best we'll kept secret Jazz room in the lower mainland supporting well-known acts and also the local Jazz scene and all while offering great service and food choices
Thomas Coppi Cunha
Thomas Coppi Cunha: Amazingly welcome atmosphere, the server Philip was also incredible with his services.
Progressive Cardiac Services
Progressive Cardiac Services: Good times!
Gregory Kehm
Gregory Kehm: I'd say the best live jazz venue in Vancouver and with superb Italian food flavours. Reservations are a very good idea. A cover charge is added when there is live music.
the awakened wanderer
the awakened wanderer: Attended with group of friends. Lovely place, amazing service, awesome vibes, great food and cherry on top, Live Jazz performance by amazing amazing artist. What more can you expect for a beautiful evening.
Jacquelyn Johnston
Jacquelyn Johnston: Tonight was my first time here, went with a group of friends to hear LJ Mountenay. The music, while not jazz, was exceptionally good blues. The place was packed. The ambience, overall service, drinks and food were really good.I rated it four stars because although our server was lovely, efficient and kept our water glasses (prepoured when we arrived) full, she didn't come back to check on how we were enjoying our meals so I couldn't tell her my delicious lasagna wasn't quite hot enough. Also, while not her fault, my food contained a few bits of gristle and something herbal (leaves and stem) I couldn't chew through. I discreetly spit them into my napkin and brought it home to take a pic, but I haven't had success adding photos to reviews before. I'll try it. Perhaps someone can identify what it was. Looks a bit like bay leaf to me but it's poisonous so ... I don't know, probably not unless I die in my sleep.Okay, never mind the photo. I'm old and tired and don't want to start downloading apps. Maybe I can edit this later. As I said, overall a pleasant evening out.One more tiny note. I didn't hear the server thank me for the tip, which to me is imperative. If you expect a tip, I expect appreciation for it. I go out a fair bit, always tip but don't always get thanked and whenever that happens it makes me wish I hadn't bothered. So I'm just putting it out there to servers everywhere.By the way, the origin of tips is that it was an acronym for To Insure Prompt Service, usually given to the maitre'd to encourage fast seating and good service. Now, it's an expectation like an extra tax added to the bill. In my opinion, saying thank you is just as important a part of a server's job as saying hello with a smile. But, as I said, I'm old.
Ken Krueger WhiteCatzs
Ken Krueger WhiteCatzs: Great value for your money and home to Vancouver’s best jazz musicians. There are late night shows as well - starting around 11:30pm ( Frankie’s After Dark) with more experimental jazz performances by young up and coming musicians
Peter Myers
Peter Myers: Nice place, good food (Italian) great music the night we were there. Early start for the music 20:00, which suited us. Not far from Expo line.
Saddesh Gurikankar
Saddesh Gurikankar: I don’t usually partake in jazz music or smoke but the other night I had a few puffs and watched the D. Restivo Trio and all I can say is that my mind has been expanded. I’ll be back to this club.
Carlyle Wilde
Carlyle Wilde: What an amazing way to spend a rainy Vancouver Friday night. We went for the live jazz music and we're very impressed at this well thought out intimate environment. We sat at the bar and the bartender provided an extremely high level of service. We had the Shrimp Tagliatelle in Lobster cream sauce, Chicken Parmigiana, Mussels and the Frankie's Pizza. All the items we ordered were very flavorful and I am sure all the others dishes on their men are just as delectable from this talented kitchen.
Robert Franco
Robert Franco: Had a great time at Frankie’s Jazz Club. Good food and wine, great jazz and service, intimate venue. Can’t wait to go back.
Ula Cogito
Ula Cogito: Not great at all. Avoid it.
Political Foolishness
Political Foolishness: So you vet musical talent based on what now? Can you publish the complete list of criteria? For any future talent you book, should we scrutinize their views or sense of humor prior to coming to listen to their music? BTW, if you decide to rebook John Stetch, don't charge him a cent and make your announcement on Rebel News. I can guarantee your place will be full and you will be glad to welcome him back and all will be forgotten about this unfortunate political entanglement you have made for yourselves.
David Kujawa
David Kujawa: You start bending to the mob of cancel culture then your time will come to be cancelled. Such a shame you have no backbone.
julian ferrer
julian ferrer: frankies
N Boyko
N Boyko: Disappointed to hear about your venue’s recent decision to cancel the John Stetch musical performances. He is clearly a brilliant pianist and has dabbled in comedic impressions of prominent politicians. There is nothing inappropriate about engaging in humour to affect change in the political arena or cultural landscape. This has been the great thing about living in Canada—lots of creative comedians over the years poking fun at some of the ridiculous and often hypocritical things politicians say. It seems we’ve lost the ability to see humour for what it is, just that: humour. A small group has conspired to “cancel” Mr. Stetch based on a complete lack of understanding and context of his political satire. Frankie’s Jazz Club, unfortunately, has chosen to cave to this group of intolerant and immature people, rather than encouraging Mr. Stetch’s creativity in both music and comedy.
Cindy Dai - Thiessen
Cindy Dai - Thiessen: A flagship venue for jazz music in Vancouver. Great for the attentive-listening crowd. One of the only places in the city that now has a late night series (starts at 11:15 pm) that showcases creative music that tethers from the jazz and improvised music tradition. Good cocktails!
Matt Franceschini
Matt Franceschini: Incredible staff and wonderful music!
jeff anderson
jeff anderson: Really disappointed that you discriminate against talented artists who may have their own personal beliefs and political views. John Stetch is an amazing pianist and a lovely person. We have loved and thoroughly enjoyed his performances in the past. We definitely won't be returning to your venue as long as you exclude musicians based on hear say.
michelle
michelle: This is a great place to see and hear great local and international musicians! Special shoutout to the staff for giving their time to accommodate the late night series; it couldn’t be done without them.
Ella King
Ella King: I really enjoy music in general. I like to see all kinds of artists share their love of music and skill with people like me who were not given this talent.Musicians communicate through the stroke of a guitar string, a beat of a drum or through the combination of piano keys. It takes us from a place in the present world, which can be confusing and hard to understand, to a world where all there is, is the music. There are no politics, there are no arguments, there is no right or wrong, there is just the emotions brought forward by the notes being played. To have this establishment cancel an accomplished musician for his comedy spoofs based on real events, has me in disbelief. Do you know the beliefs of ALL of your performers - I highly doubt that. Gone are the days where we actually give people the benefit of the doubt.Frankie's needs to get back to being about the music.

Dawn Stafford
Dawn Stafford: Great place to spend an afternoon listening to incredible jazz.
Bruno Bruno
Bruno Bruno: Food is decent for the price and the waitress was good. But on top of the terrible location there was a burning smell for nearly 2 hours and nobody did anything to address it.
Inga “Domino” Binga
Inga “Domino” Binga: A cozy historical gem! Feels like a tavern in the day and into an eclectic evening live music or rendez vous pub with large paid parking lot and well lit entrance, wheelchair accessible!

L B
L B: Pat's is great, Nella is super nice and remembered my orders before I ordered them, the dude bartender is funny and always has something nice to say. The food is very good (esp. the cod tacos). I'm only giving Pats a 3 because of how I was treated by a server there 2 nights ago; I don't know her name, but give her 5'3 with long brown hair. Sunday night I ordered only from her, and hadn't drank anywhere else. Like many other times, I minded my own business and was about to leave but the exit doors were locked. The doors to Hastings and the parking lot were bolt locked. I told her that I thought this was a fire code violation and she flipped out on me, opened the door to the hotel lobby, told me I was 86'd forever, that I was drunk, and she asked the hotel manager for my room number. What was all that? For my 2-3 weeks living at the Pat Hotel I very happily ate and drank downstairs many times, but for whatever reason, after I made mention that the doors were locked, this server who had been serving me went berserk. I'm leaving the hotel (which smells great when the craft brewery is making batch) for elsewhere so the barring me from the bar doesn't matter that much, but I do think she needs a review of her customer services skills. Does she even have her Serving It Right? Were it not for this last evenings shenanigans there I'd give Pats a 5.
Brianna Kay Music
Brianna Kay Music: BUT, one thing I did notice is that they need more single or double tables to fit more people in. Too many single people taking up 4 spots. Other than that, great place!!!
Laurie M.
Laurie M.: Good stage, great jazz band! Ron Johnston trio with Don Stewart, what a treat 😊 Decent beer on tap, and reasonably priced as well. Didn't try the food myself, but it sure look tasty.

Cheyenne John
Cheyenne John: Didn't play as much country music as I would've liked. But overall was still a fun night
Mariana Barros
Mariana Barros: Sooo fun, if you’re a fan of the rock and horse in toronto, you will love this.
Milo Talon
Milo Talon: Love the Yale salon
Adan Khan
Adan Khan: felt like I was back in the 1800s surrounded by a bunch of conservatives, the bull is the only sick thing there. warning do not go if you have melanin and like white girls.
Timothy Bonner
Timothy Bonner: Kevin made sure I got a bottle of corona that got broken. Someone broke my stem and he made sure it got compensated by a new bottle and it meant a lot when my buddy was the one who bought it. Give him a raise he deserves it
Connor
Connor: Yeehaw
Stefan Mitchell
Stefan Mitchell: Great place for young people, beers could be a bit cheaper though
Gareth Eyre
Gareth Eyre: The bouncer stole my granola bars outta my Fanny pack but tbh would still return…🤠
Erika Partridge
Erika Partridge: Atmosphere is great and the bull is super fun. Drinks are insanely expensive though, plus a $20 cover
Capt. Anthony
Capt. Anthony: Ace
Ramsay Anderson
Ramsay Anderson: Love it
Justin McGregor
Justin McGregor: Fun country bar downtown!
Anna
Anna: Can’t lean on the car can’t lean on the bull ring, security guy walking around like police officer scolding ppl about it! Such a tense atmosphere, even Service Canada is less strict. They don’t accept cash, they don’t have any cocktails only beer, the entrance fee was 20 dollars…
Ava Ferenc
Ava Ferenc: Atmosphere was fun for a group of friends! Buckets were a fair price ($23 for a triple highball) and the bull was great (free rides, but you have to sign a waiver). Bathrooms werent clean and it was country music all night which is not my thing but I’m sure a lot of people enjoy that
korbin
korbin: Refused to let me pay with this horrendous thing called cash, which is legal currency in this country. Will not be back.
hamed shamohammadi
hamed shamohammadi: Despite the pictures of food, they do not have a kitchen. They have signs outside saying wings and bbq but they don’t serve food. After entry, they charge $20+tip per person. 1 minute after entrance when I understood that they don’t serve food, we wanted to leave but they didn’t return the money.
Praneeth
Praneeth: Good country side vibes. Cool songs collection ( you will definitely want to tap your feet on the dance floor). Can get crowded on weekends, but hey that's what pubs are for right?Get your friends here on a Saturday night and you won't regret
Patricia Reinoso
Patricia Reinoso: Went there to ride the mechanic bull. Ended up playing pull, having a los of beer and learning how to dance country music. One of the best nights o my life
Belinda Chambless Tucker
Belinda Chambless Tucker: Fun
Jason Deline
Jason Deline: Could be great, but they need an overhaul.Website says to email for reservations, emailed for weeks, no response. This page shows tons of food and menus, but they don't serve food anymore and you can't even bring your own food. Big problem when planning a dinner party. Update this page! They don't have much selection for beers, and don't even serve wine. They advertise line dancing at 7, doesn't start until 8Staff are incredibly rude. With new management it could be a fun place.
Donal
Donal: Yeehaw 🤠 (I spent way too much money here)

Biltmore Cabaret: what do users think?
Jeff Raimondo
Jeff Raimondo: This place has always been a great venue to see a live show! Great sound, nice space, close to the action, room to dance, good bar with decent prices. The private security is kind of a bummer because they don’t really seem to understand or appreciate the organism that is a live music performance (telling people they’re standing in the wrong space, being a bit standoffish when it comes to traffic redirection of the crowd) but it’s not enough to ruin your good time. Long love the Biltmore!
James Duncan
James Duncan: This dirty little basement venue is the place to see artists before they get big. Such a fun time here, highly recommend supporting bands and comedians on their way up, out or wherever… the photo is of Tommy Newport and band.
Gonz VonLog
Gonz VonLog: Love watching live shows here, I’ve seen so many great ones. Only downside is the stage being at ground level, makes it hard to see when crowded
Nathalie Mila
Nathalie Mila: Fun shows, kind staff.
Renu Singh
Renu Singh: Friendly staff from bartenders to front door team. Awesome venue for intimate shows! Drinks on the pricey side.
Chaz Williams
Chaz Williams: Most intimate concert venue, always an amazing show whenever I've visited.
Kelsey Morris
Kelsey Morris: Always a good time! Friendly staff and great music
Karl Poldre
Karl Poldre: This place rules. Amazing live music. I came in on a Saturday for my Birthday and both the manager, Matt, and the band playing went completely above and beyond to make sure I had a good experience.I will absolutely be back!
mary s
mary s: War and TreatyWhat a fabulous showVenue was great
oaksound studio
oaksound studio: Great atmosphere and awesome sound system. I love playing here
Vanessa Mousavizadeh
Vanessa Mousavizadeh: So enjoyed the Jake Wesley Rogers show this March. Fantastic show. Comfortable space, nice ambiance, standard drinks. Really nice, welcoming staff. I would have been so grateful if you'd offered food options. A girl has got to eat! I'll definitely be back but might bring some takeout.
Kurt Yesilcimen
Kurt Yesilcimen: Hard to find the entrance and a bit of a crammed feeling but it's nice to see a smaller venue with decent enough drink options and pinball machines. Came for an event and the seating arrangements were a bit odd. Will have to go back to see it in a different setting.
Scott Alexander
Scott Alexander: The Biltmore Cabaret cares greatly about their guests hydration and as such has a self-serve free cold water tap. I’d give them 6 gold stars for this alone, but their staff are also friendly and the concert environment is top notch. I do wish the stage was a bit bigger, but its smaller stature provides a more intimate experience.
Chelsea Bowers
Chelsea Bowers: One of the best music venues in Vancouver
Nic Bachleitner (Suprastitious)
Nic Bachleitner (Suprastitious): No parking, $8 for a can of lucky and they ask for a tip...acoustics were great but they over sold for seating and numerous people were standing around complaining. Go early if you want to get a seat
Anastassia Zukova
Anastassia Zukova: I thought this place was great for a comedy spot. The only less than ideal thing about it is that the entrance is in the alley and it seems to often have homeless here and there (generally, Vancouver seems to have quite a problem with this). But if you come let’s say about 15min before a show, there should be other people in line and that feels much less dodgy. That said I am a female and was waiting by myself because I got there about 30 minutes early, so definitely felt a little uneasy. Other than that, the inside is super Cody and the drinks were good enough. Fun time all in all.
Jesse Neudorf
Jesse Neudorf: Awesome place to see a band you like. Good beer. Smaller venue
Byron Pelly
Byron Pelly: Pretty enjoyable experience, venue was nice. The drinks are a little expensive. They do offer a free water station. I would come back for another event.
Izi Kavazo
Izi Kavazo: Dark and tight, but in the best possible way. It's a great place to see a small band. It feels intimate, but not awkward. There are good nooks and crannies to sit in on the edges and you can see the stage from almost every one.
Hannah Jarvis
Hannah Jarvis: Was there for NYE and it was the worst DJ experience of my life. The transitions were brutal and it was really hard to dance to.
mason lemons
mason lemons: Very nice place for live shows

Ethan Van Dyk
Ethan Van Dyk: Desmond and Malik are the best. Good guys who do their job well. I would highly recommend this place for a good night
J Y
J Y: I really like the place. Music was great. Staff was friendly and the vibe was very good. People came here to have a good time and not just to hook up. loved that all ages were here so it's not only those in the 20s enjoying themselves.I want to give extra shout out to the admin staff. My wallet went missing and I've called them 3 times to check, once first thing in the day, 2nd time later when cleaners were done and 3rd the next day. I also emailed them. They were so friendly and gracious and I felt they tried to help (it's by phone but felt they were looking). Some lost and found treat you like you are an inconvenience but not the staff here. So kudos to you. You made a good impression to me, even though my wallet is still MIA.
Justin Morgan
Justin Morgan: Usually good but the last time I went was terrible, we waited an hour to get in and then all wanted to leave because it was so crowded inside everyone was constantly being aggressively shoved and groped. You couldn’t move at all or even dance without people almost knocking you over. I don’t get what the point is in making people wait an hour to get in if you’re still gonna let the club overfill like that. I’m used to crowded bars but this was the worst I’ve seen.
Kate Madden
Kate Madden: One of my favourite spots, I have been having fun here for 30 years. It's very safe and welcoming for Trans folks too. 🏳️‍⚧️
Anthony Gador
Anthony Gador: Exactly as I remembered it
Mitchell Singer
Mitchell Singer: It's not for everyone, but if you want a bar with a ton of action, the Roxy is a must stop when in Vancouver
Charlie Frie
Charlie Frie: Great live music venue
Cody Wesley
Cody Wesley: Had an epic time... good staff
Martin V.
Martin V.: Wednesday 1130pm and there is a line like they are handing out free money 🤣 didn't even bothered trying to wait
Mr Chatman
Mr Chatman: What a time I had here. The staff were friendly and efficient. The house and was freakin awesome. The DJ in between live sets had the place jumping. Absolutely will be going back there again and again. Go there for a time...do it, do it, do it. 🤩
Saeed F.Farahani
Saeed F.Farahani: Rude security staff & Abuse of power in dealing with male customers
AMAN JAIN
AMAN JAIN: Best security ever, specially Mr Chris, and Mr Felix respect to those guys it’s my favourite club overall in Granville with no doubts only I had to get out because of a head moment where I was not wrong but it was just the bad moment but sometimes things happen although best staff, also I wrote a bad review when I was not conscious because something unintentional happened with me and it was the moment anyways definitely the first name is Roxy and it’s people lovely place !!..❤️😭
charlotte webb
charlotte webb: Great atmosphere and brilliant set up for music! Felt a bit hurt when the girl on the door looked and spoke down to me when she asked what I wanted, like I was a nuisance drunk person, but in fact I was sober waiting my turn for the cloakroom. There’s really no need for the rude looks and tone - I am a nice and kind girl and it upsets me when staff think they’re better than others. We’ve all got things to deal with so just be nice and don’t assume. Really let my night down
deemantha wijesekera
deemantha wijesekera: Awesome live music.. suitable for ages around 22+ n upwards
Justin Wiebe
Justin Wiebe: This place is pretty good. Small but the sound is good and it's a fun venu to watch a live band. The bartenders know how to make cocktail drinks and have proper tattoo art on their bodies
Pam
Pam: Had great time with friends with lively music here. If you want Live band and classic one you can go here..
Adam Kingdon
Adam Kingdon: I had an awesome time, live music, dancing, and great prices and staff was amazing
Jay Morgen
Jay Morgen: I love the old school vancouver vibe of this place. A bit grungey, a bit divey. Myself personally, that's what I like when I go dancing. Others may prefer a more upscale modern vibe but if you like to kick it old school and dance to a variety of music then this is the place to go!!
Karo b
Karo b: Belle ambiance peut importe le jour de la semaine

Derek Dilts

Dylan Ford
Dylan Ford: I was a regular at Memphis blues but over the past while the service and portions have been cut in half !I always ordered the pulled pork poutine or pulled pork meal.
Rebecca Milson
Rebecca Milson: Very friendly staff. I had the tomato beef brisket soup which was delicious! More like a stew, very generous with the meat. Yum!!

Thomson Farquhar: Good friendly service, but was the driest brisket I’ve ever tried to choke down, also served cold. They gave us complementary corn bread when they asked how it was. Skipped desert. Probably don’t know how to bake a key lime pie either
Peter Jensen
Peter Jensen: I found the Memphis Blues BBQ House by accident, The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the jambalaya dish which was awesome. It was delicious and well prepared. I would heartily recommend for ny one. Itwas expensive though as most meals these days.

Go time
Go time: This place was okay. The restaurant is clean and smaller but The food was good. The service was okay. The fries that came with all the sandwiches were spicy but if that’s your thing you may like these. The po boy food was good too. Another spot in Vancouver that doesn’t play music to go with the restaurant theme. The decor and wall art is all about emojis blues but plays old rock and rock but not blues as one would expect.

Jorge y Blanca
Jorge y Blanca: Our favorite place to eat a good BBQ
Carolina Ramírez
Carolina Ramírez: The food here is really inconsistent in terms of flavor, quality and freshness. We have ordered a couple of times but both times we were not fully happy with the whole dish. The first time, we ordered the briskets and ribs, the meat in general was fine same as the fries, but the corn bread was really dry. We ordered a second time, and it was really bad food, the corn bread was awful even the smell was bad same as the salad, and the meat was not good at all: cold and not good quality. Not ordering anymore from this place

Sean Tan: Rude and abusive door man on 15 May 8:30pm to 1230am was screaming obscenities at (GET THE F OUT OF HERE) and pushing customers (to get them to leave they should have left earlier.. but this was a frankly, psychotic way to handle it)..Nice place actually. Enjoyed myself. but too afraid to ever come here again and will need to inform the rest of the music scene that a venue is physically abusing it's performers and paying customers.Take Caution for your safety please. 😊

Commodore Ballroom: what do users think?
Teuh Bousquet
Teuh Bousquet: Best music venue in Vancouver, hands down! Super intimate, some seating available on reservation. Never a bad experience!
Emma Turgut
Emma Turgut: They didn't let us bring our bags in even though there is a bag check inside?? Made trying to get in to see our show super difficult, very inconvenient. Security was also like weirdly forceful and just like when is it ever that deep. I would probably never come back here but it is a pretty venue and the performance was great. Also it is massive.
the Bride of Frankenstein
the Bride of Frankenstein: This place was THE place in Vancouver in the 90s would love to revisit...
Mark Osborne
Mark Osborne: Commodore is the best indoor music venue on the West Coast! 3 bors, plenty of seating, and amazing staff. I’ve been going there since 1992, when I first saw Pavement on their Wowie Zowie tour. Just recently saw M83 there, and was just as impressed as my 1992 show. Go! Make the drive from SF if you have to!
John Edmeston
John Edmeston: Best ever!!! Look at the list of past performers!!! Great acoustics, Dance your face off
Elizabeth Wildeboer
Elizabeth Wildeboer: Loved this venue! Such a cool space. Larger than expected with tables along the edge, a large dance floor and balcony
Icarus Skelly
Icarus Skelly: Loud. Yeouchie my ears. Very cool!
Caroline F
Caroline F: Amazing venue with amazing sound!
Kristina Tait
Kristina Tait: Great venue
olim82
olim82: The Commodore is the best venue in Vancouver. It's a smaller intimate venue and no matter where you are seated or standing you'll have a great view or seat. There are 4 different bars to grab a drink so never a long line. Once the artist or band gets going the tires underneath the floor get the place jumping.
Coho Parhar
Coho Parhar: Best venue in town
Manish Sharma
Manish Sharma: Awesome place, great music, great food n drinks... perfect place for Friday evening...
Mark Pedicelli
Mark Pedicelli: Great live music, great band, good mix of music. Very talented! Loved it.

Peter Fenwick
Peter Fenwick: Best place to see a show. Perfect size!
Sam Jones
Sam Jones: Awesome venue. Friendly staff. Expensive drinks, although not as expensive as other nearby venues. Parking nearby. Always a good time to be had!
Brent Janzen
Brent Janzen: Always a great Show at the Commodore !
Tony Klassen
Tony Klassen: Good atmosphere for a night out.
Mike M
Mike M: Always a great time here! Love the energy, atmosphere and sound set up. Saw Big Sugar a couple of weeks ago and the pricing was decent. The night was priceless! A legendary venue 😊😊
