Jericho Beach Kayak Centre: what do users think?
Nils Bradley: We were a group of 16 for a two hour kayak introductions using eight double-Kayaks. Had a great time. Half our members were Mandarin speaking so one of the instructor spoke in Mandarin. Within the two hours our group became relatively proficient. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. EJ was very flexible and helpful in arranging for the event as it was difficult getting this many people to commit to doing it.I highly recommend this business for its very helpful and accommodating attitude along with concise and safe instructions by the two leaders on the water.
Koray: Enjoyed the great experience of kayaking and very helpful nice staff.
Glen Ivan: An incredible place to learn, super friendly and accommodating staff and excellent and empathetic instructors!
Justine Kowal: Helpful staff & smooth service. Had a lovely paddle on a beautiful day.
Jessica Pang: Yesterday evening I attended the BIPOC paddle, a relaxed 2 hour kayak paddle for BIPOC-identifying folks. It was my first time going to Jericho Beach Kayak Centre. The staff (Chris, Rhia, and Endaya) were so welcoming, helpful, and accommodating to the range of experience of the attendees from first time kayakers to the experienced. The vibe of the group was equally welcoming, sweet, and fun. It was really special to meet as a group of BIPOC and enjoy the sunset together from the water. I'm grateful that the kayak centre organizes these events and offer sliding price to help make it more financially accessible. I'm definitely looking forward to future paddles.
H B: Their group paddles are fun! I love it there. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I totally recommend!
Arizona: Booked a private lesson to learn how to roll. Instructor (Mike) was a fantastic teacher. Would recommend Jericho Beach Kayak to a friend :)
Rachel Dempsey: Really great activity for a sunny day! The staff are friendly and professional and the views are beautiful!
Troy Horne: Amazing instructor
CM Sin: I booked a private tour as it fit my availability. I have quite a bit of kayaking experience, but it's been a long time since I've been on the ocean. My instructor, Hannah was awesome! She was great at answering all my questions, and the pace matched my abilities. It's a great place to visit, and to kayak. Highly recommended!
les berezowski: Just took the online zoom VHF course with Jericho beach. it was great and learned so much besides just reading the book. Lots of time for questions. Highly recommended.
Evan Harkness: Amazing experience! Beautiful beach, quality equipment and the guides are awesome! Had a blast and felt safe the whole way! Must try if you’re in the Vancouver area!!
Carissa Thomas: I took the "Complete Kayaking" course at Jericho beach in the spring and have rented kayaks on other occasions and I must say, the people working here are absolutely incredible. The course was informative and also created a warm, welcoming environment that was comprehensive and fun! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone wanting to gain more safety skills as well as learn some strokes.
K Dubb: Great friendly staff and they were upbeat and seemed really happy! All positive vibes! The girl upon return that helped us with the kayak was very friendly and happy, she seemed to be full of light :)We went at 6pm to 8 pm and caught a amazing sunset. It's was beautiful. Will definitely come back :)
Shirley N: Went for sunset kayak last night. Staff was awesome ... very friendly and helpful!! We were given a very thorough safety orientation (some of our party were novice kayakers) before departing. They also went above and beyond to assist in getting in and out of the kayaks. Can't wait to come back!!😊
Doug Taylor: Very professional with huge customer service. All staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Jericho Beach Kayak Centre.
Adrian Schuurmans: Took the beginners course, what can I say.Deanne and Mark were fantastic instructors, covered everything we needed to know, in a clear and concise manner. Constantly made sure we understood and constantly checking how we are doing when we did drills. So we learnt basic strokes, draws, edging ( I didn't know a kayaking could be lean over that far and not fall out into the ocean)Classmates (kayakmates?) was really good, everyone seemed to participate and socialize and enjoy themselves. I KNOW I DIDHave been kayaking for 5 years and learnt some really important new skills. The assisted rescue was supercalifragilisticexpeladocious. It was my biggest fear. Instructors demoed, was the rescuer with us and then we had to assist each other. And in the process 2 kayaks (rescuer and rescuee) both ended up in the drink 2X. Instructors called for 2 new rescuers. It was fantastic.Weather was great, the group was great, the instructors are great, the experience was great. Can't use that word enough. Will I be taking Level 1 in the spring.....you betcha.Highly recommend for anyone starting out or wanting to learn proper technique in a safe and fun environment.
Nicolas Martinez: Went for intro to kayak class and they gracefully agreed to give us 2 seater kayak (steadier than 1 seater they normally use for this lesson) to calm my partner's fear of water. Our instructor was very patient and we had a great time thanks to him.$11 parking for 3h though goodness gracious me!
Mohammadreza Osouli: Beautiful beach and very good service. We got a double kayak and enjoyed it a lot. The prices are fair. Remember to bring extra clothes as you are getting wet.
Malcolm Clear: Great time kayaking in Vancouver bay. Wouldn’t hesitate to do again

Deep Cove Kayak Centre: what do users think?
Leah D'Souza: we rented a tandem kayak for a couple hours. it was such a lovely experience. we came here on a long weekend and they were all booked up for the day but we got a spot the following day, early morning. the staff were friendly and professional.parking can be an issue during peak hours/weekends/holidays.
Nick Cipp: Superb outing!
ADITYA SHARMA: Even though there were a lot of empty boats you guys are not able to rent boats due to insufficient staff. It’s very disappointing to hear this.
Qianyi Wong: I had an amazing experience joining the Island Explorer Tour with Deep Cove Kayak Centre! The area we paddled in was scenic and we got to visit a few islands (only accessible by water), which was cool! Ben is a knowledgeable guide, and helped to point out the wildlife around the area and explain how the surrounding terrain was formed. He also recommended the Quarry Rock hike which is walking distance away from the kayak centre and it was well worth it!The tour also included a sandwich, donut (Honey’s) and bottled drink for lunch on one of the islands! I would suggest putting on lots of suncream and bring a hat and sunglasses as it gets pretty hot and sunny midday!
Mila Bozinovski: Always enjoy coming out to this space for a paddle. The views are stunning, there is always parking available somewhere within the neighborhood - its a short distance away.Enjoy the Staff & their knowledge & help with setting up some of the guests I like to bring out - this I'd an excursion I definitely recommend to anyone visiting me from out of town.
Josh Norquist: I recently took the 2-day Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills course over a weekend. The course was awesome and packed full of great lessons! Hannah was a great instructor and took her time to explain everything in detail and demonstrate all of the skills! Booking was easy and communication afterwards was great! They even emailed the day before to warn that parking would be more difficult than usual due to a race the next day in Deep Cove. All the gear you need is provided and was in good condition. Highly recommend Deep Cove Kayak for lessons and rentals. I'll definitely be back.
Sun Ponzu: friendly staff and fair price.
Amy Poulston: Did a 3 hour kayak capsize and recovery course with Spencer and Miranda and they were great instructors! Glad to have the safety knowledge for going out on the water
Rain Scott: Took Paddle Canada One recently. The instructor was very knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. I learned a lot. One note: The very thin, loosing fitting wet suits provided by Deep Cove kayak are not adequate for cold spring days for immersion. I was shaking! I’d recommend bringing your own proper wet suit or having other strategies for managing the cold.
Mandy Johnston: Friendly Staff, Great Place for a Moonlight Paddle!
Harrison Gao: Amazing customer service, they are responsive by phone and email! These people are wonderful to work with
Jongwan Kim: Quick and easy to rent a kayak. The staff is kind and helpful in answering questions and recommending kayak spots!
WILLIAM REN: What a wonderful day!Deep Cove is a beautiful seaside village at the eastern edge of North Vancouver. I love to go there with my families for walks, hikes, kayaking and paddle boarding. The little sandy beach is nice for swimming. Along the paved pathway, you could walk appreciating the white clouds in water, listening to the birds singing, letting the breeze touching your face, Nice! For lunch, I would like go to ArMS BeaCH BiSTrO to have a beer for relaxing
Vicki Koersen: Mike was our guide for our two hour excursion on the rainiest Saturday in April 2023. We were able to get out to Jug Island and had a wonderful trip. Mike is very knowledgeable and seems very happy being on the water. Even though we were soaked through to skin, we had an amazing time!
Catalina Albury: We had a small error with scheduling, but the folks at Deep Cove Kayak were very understanding and made it right with us. Beautiful scenery and skilled guides
Stephen E: Great service perfect location
Ziad Ragab: Took the 3 hour winter tour with Thomas. The best thing to do in your weekend. He was really nice and helpful and the scenery is amazing.
yossy Nuñez: Buen lugar para ir a pasear
Ivi Ju: Einfach nur schön. Mitarbeiter erklären alles geduldig. Preise ok. Würde gerne wieder ne paddeltour machen.
Cenk Ozkan: Great friendly staff, easy going and super helpful. I go every year at least couple times to take a kayak out and recharge. Great place to see wildlife (kayaked with some seals) and take your time kayaking around.
Jessica W: Great location and good views. Prices are fair. In terms of parking if it’s going to be a busy day get there early. Deep cove does not have a designated lot and deep cove gets busy on weekends. Staff is friendly. They also have bathrooms on site.

Creekside Kayaks: what do users think?
Will Ko: Amazing way to spend an afternoon
Amir Beiklik: it was great, for both kids and adults... reasonable price and very friendly staff.
Atty: Nice and accommodating staff. It’s more expensive than DeepCove kayak rental but if you live in the area it’s easy to get to.
Sukhman Sidhu: Their rates are good but staff needs to be well trained. The guy who was pushing our kayaks into the water didn’t get it rightSoon he pushed my brother’s kayak in water it flipped and luckily my brother knew how to swim so he got to the dock. No towel or even a sorry was given to him by staff. It would have been terrible experience if my brother didn’t knew how to swim
Zekai Liu: it was a horrible experience. I did nothing but lost $2000. we were there 4 days ago. they only have two staff. I am the first one to try it after the staff explained every functions of the boat. only one female staff was there and push the boat and I into the water. I am a male with 80KG weight and 180cm height. We can tell she was not ok by herself when she pushes the boat. but when we ask she says ok. and the boat falls over aside and I was drops into the water. I even have not started to do anything! and when I was in the water instead of pulling me out, she was there holding the boat, and she was the closest one to me. my girlfriend was the first one who came to help me. I believe that I was in the water for about 1 to 2 minium. She helped literally nothing! Obversely she was not trained properly. And the other guy came over from another side and pulled me out. my phone ($1400) was water damaged and my customized glasses ($600) were lost. They said it would be my responsibility because of what I have signed. It has not started I haven't even rowed the paddle once, she just pushed me over. the boat was not protected and on a surface. Actually, the boat has not totally got into the water when I fall into the water. A small corner of the bow is still on the board. And they had no towels no dryer only some old clothes. they even didn't pay anything for our taxi home. only promise a full refund (not received) and I haven't see any apology letter through email or whatever! That is service!
T Y: Friendly staff! Very easy to book online
Elsa Kermani: Been going here on a weekly basis. We buy our tix online and go there early morning. Service is great.Wish the water was not so polluted.
Shreyash Patel: Nice kayaks!
Fami Kaur: Awesome explanation soooo much fun, really recommend it. It amazing experience for beginners very stable water.
leesa tran: Enjoyed kayaking here although I thought that the kayaking area was quite small compared to the other places.
Mona Javed: This was such a beautiful experience, the views are breathtaking. 4 stars because i think it could be cheaper.
Suyong Shin: staffs are reasonable and accommodating. the safety instruction and the safety tools were provided promptly. They help you hop on and off the kayak.the experience was great!you may need your ID at closing hours.
Katia Somerville: Love this place, the staff are so laid back
Daniela Restrepo Roldan: Was my first time kayaking in Vancouver and the experience was amazing. You have to book online and use a mask while on the dock. The staff is really friendly and they explain all you need to know to stay safe, that's why they don't recommend go beyond Burrad bridge. This is an awesome way to explore the city doing something different and fun.
Vishal Joshi: Very nice and professional staff
Kevin Shen: Newbies can have fun too!
Susan: The staff are always friendly and accommodating. They ensure you have the est time out on the water!Keep your eyes peeled on Groupon for coupons :) still reasonably priced though
Dave Miller: Great way to get out and see the city from a different view. If you are a little bit bigger than than normal the single kayak might not work for you. I barely fit in and it was difficult for me to get comfortable. 8ts not the fault of creekside but would be helpful for us that are bigger to take something else out for access on the water. Cost is very reasonable and easy to do online.
Paula Mendoza: Great rates. Decent kayak quality. Grover was great checking our group in.
Dickson Siu: really friendly staff. great place to kayak. groupon accepted
Melody Monro: Really helpful staff getting us in and out of the water and making sure we knew what we were doing! The kayaks are plastic and that's fine to paddle about in False Creek. Thank you, great location too.

Vancouver Water Adventures LTD.: what do users think?
King Ife: Amazing time on seadoo/jet ski, the staff was very polite and helpful. I have to give a special shoutout to Darren for guiding us through the process
Meghan Threadson: Location is closed for the season. Would have loved to know before showing up
Gord Samuel: Granite Falls Tour;An absolutely awesome tour! Simon, our guide was the best too!! Very informative and exciting. I have lived in the lower mainland for over 70 years and I learned a ton about the Indian Arm area. I would recommend this 3 hour tour to everyone.
Alec Moloney: Loved it
Eric: Had a wonderful evening on the water celebrating a wedding anniversary. Alex our tour guide was fantastic, super friendly and did a phenomenal job captaining the zodiac all the while offering up a history of Vancouver at the same time! We signed up for the Bowen Island dinner which I highly recommend! Dinner at Rustique Bistro was delicious as well!
Em: Everyone working was super helpful and knew what they were doing. Great location. Would recommend!
Alli Bearinger: They have weekly deals, the staff are super friendly and helpful and it’s such a great activity for a nice sunny day!
Tim Wilson: We had so much fun! Great guys working there, they were super helpful and nice! Well worth the money for endless laughs and smiles!
Lihz Bailey: My boyfriend and I rented some SUP's on the long weekend. They were having a great deal; that was 50% off- which meant that it was only 15 dollars each for two hours. Somehow were charged an additional $14.80 on top of the $30, and when asked about it, the girl said it was 12% tax. Sorry, but 12% of $30 is $3.60. Even if they were charging us the tax on the full un-discounted price it would still only be $7.20. Someone's pocketing a whole lot of extra money....
Ch Isa: The staff is friendlyThe location is perfect, there are some waves which is awesome when you are kayaking !

Vancouver Water Adventures LTD.: what do users think?
Dana Houston Jackson: So good doing it again on Saturday with my husband. Exciting, fun, beautiful, safe and great tour guide. Using same group 2 more times.
David o brien: Second time I took the tour and was just as fantastic as the first. Amazing way to spend a few hours and the team and guides at Vancouver Water Adventures are 10/10
Soumya Bangera: Amazing experience, our captain Paul was very knowledgeable.
something appropriate: Was an amazing experience Simon was such a great tour guide He made sure we all had fun but still learned about all the spots he showed us and even moved the boat around when I wanted a picture so our group could get the water fall in the back. Such a sweet guy definitely deserves a raise ( he’s cute too lmao)
Urnmu81: Would highly recommend it to those who want to see the views of the city harbor as well gain some of the history. The trip then extends itself into some very beautiful views outside the city in a very rustic way, much of which you may not see traveling in a car or hiking on a local trail. Our tour guide Paul was both engaging and passionate. It was above and beyond our expectation. Well done!
Olga Goyzueta: 100% recommends these tours, professional and safe. We enjoyed all the time.
Nancy Y: Had lots of fun! Very informative and considerate at the same time. We were a group of 8. Our ages ranging from teens to 55. All had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We got to see some Seals and Eagles and the boat ride itself was exhilarating! If you want to feel like you are flying on the ocean, sit in the front of the boat.
Jessica Jones: Justin and Isaac were fantastic guides! Justin was knowledgeable about the Vancouver sights and the machines, and didn't hesitate to let 'er rip when we wanted to go max speed on the waves! It was quite safe and very well organized. My speed-loving mother had a blast rocketing across the surf and catching air - she said this was her favorite watersport experience in all 7 continents!
Shraddha Patel: Max and Scott were amazing tour guides we really enjoyed the jet ski tour with them! Even in rocky weather it was truly a blast. Cant wait to come back with friends!
Narowe Crivede: It was Fantastic and amazing with Simon as our guide he was very friendly and very understanding with senior people like me and my friends, you are the best Simon waiting patiently when we were the last one to disembark the boat. I will recommend this to my friends.
Mustafa Al Balushi: Greg is an awesome guy
Jon Patrick: Marvelous place to explore Vancouver
Dave Romani: The boat tour was really good! Greg (our Captain) was awesome! This is our second time taking this tour... although we highly recommend this tour itself, the restaurant on Bowen Island wasn't great! Before your tour you have to place your dinner order... all good, until you get to the restaurant and realize you still have to wait another hour for your dinner. That's a three hour window between the time you ordered and you meal. The group we were with was super nice so most of that time was eaten up getting to know each other, not eating. When we did get our meal, we had to eat and run! This is the same problem we ran into on our first tour with two years ago.Having worked in the restaurant business for almost twenty years I understand the in's/out's of the business. Waiting for good food can be worth the wait, but my wife's pizza was burnt, the pasta was bland with no cheese, and we were told it would be another hour for anything else if we ordered it when we sat down; even salad or bread! We should have ordered it anyway as our meals took 51 minutes to get out to us anyway. Even the server didn't know that our tour included a beverage? I'm told that 'things' take a little longer on the island.... that I believe after our experience, but three hours???? So we didn't get back on time, but Greg was very good at history and making it interesting. Thanks Greg!So realize that this is a likely situation to happen if you take this tour... longer than expected, but still a good tour.
Silvia Koten: We had so much fun on the Granite Falls Tour! The weather was amazing and Paul couldn't have been a better Captain. Thank you for this unforgettable experience.
Afsaneh mojtabanezhad Shariatpanahi: We had an amazing time and far exceeded our expectations. We booked a Kayak tour and our tour leaders ( Anja & Katie) were so nice, freindly and caring and this made our trip much more wonderful.Reza
Cina Rin: Amazing experience, and equally amazing staff!! Our tour guides were absolutely fantastic and were SO. FUNNY.— They were extremely friendly and gave us plenty of ideas on where to explore next!! I cannot recommend taking their tour enough, we’ll definitely be returning here to check out their other activities next time we come down!! Graydon, Braedon, and Greg were so cool and it was a pleasure to have them as our tour guides :)) Thank you for the wonderful memories!!
Nick: This was such an amazing experience! My partner and I went on one of the boat tours and it was incredible. All of the sights were top notch, the ride was comfortable and so much fun. One of the best parts was our tour guide Graydon who was informative and hilarious throughout the trip. I would definitely go again because these guys did an amazing job!
ER W: Captain Steve was okay
Youness Ettaï: What an amazing experience we had this morning ! Everything was perfection. Thanks to the best english guide ever ! Between Sea and Mountain, you feel the nature all around you.
Chinweike Orji: SO MUCH FUN!We had gone for kayaking but after seeing they offered seadoos there was no turning back! Everyone was so patient and even though they were busy, they took time to answer all our questions and set us up.They provide EVERYTHING, and it is pricier than I'd like, but 100% fun. I hope to try it again.About the seadoos: they were well maintained, and clean. Each one sat 2 people, and went up to 60 something km/h. There's tons of storage in the seadoo itself. Again, she's pricey, they're also a deposit so just a heads up!Big thank you to Darren who was so patient with us and was so kind with us newbies!
Terri Nordstrom: Great way to see Vancouver from the water !

Wild Root Journeys: what do users think?
Elizabeth Cunnin: I just returned from my 2nd LGBTQ2S+ journey, my third trip (God’s Pocket 2020), with Wild Root Journeys.Every part of my being is touched and grows on these kayaking trips with Silke…even those inner parts I tend to try and ignore .I feel re-connected to the power of life and love of community. Thank you Silke and Micheal, and all my fellow paddlers, for the superb experience.
FangTooth: Giving it 4 star only because the answering machine is apparently full. I haven’t been on any journey yet. So obviously they are quite popular because they do such a good job. Also it seems everyone in the city wants to do this type of outdoorsy opportunity at an affordable cost, mainly for the experience. Hopefully there will be more places like this around so at least it gives everyone a bit of options. And the pipedream is that maybe BCs Mayor will recognize this and Contribute some funding to organizations so that they can open up more activities like this. This is what we all need in our lives! Also, maybe hire more Native Peoples because they know our land best.
K Ro: I went on a 6 day guided kayak tour to God's Pocket with Wild Root Journeys. I can say this one of the of the most beautiful adventures of my life.I loved how quiet and serene the area was. This is not a bustling tourist hotspot, and the wildlife experiences were exceptional. The marine life was healthier than almost anywhere I've been. Our guides were wonderful, organized, grounded and a lot of fun.I would go back for the wonderful meals alone, and I hope to! :)
M J: The folks at Wild Root Journeys are incredibly experienced, attentive, caring and an absolute blast to journey with! I have been on 3 multi-day kayak trips and am excited for my next trip. They run queer kayak journeys which is such a wonderful offering as it provides safer space for marginalized folks to explore the beautiful natural wild west coast. I loved getting wild and queer with them!
Barb Krahn: Wild Root Journeys provided a beautiful, unforgettable 4 days in the Broken Group Islands. Guides Silke and Bill kept the vibe relaxed and friendly. Their meticulous organization, knowledge and skills meant we always felt cared for and safe, even as novice kayakers. Gear was top-notch and the food was pretty awesome too! A wonderfully immersive adventure in a stunning part of the world. Highly recommended!!
Morag Desormeaux: Since my broken group island paddle with Wild root journeys I knew there wasnt any other way id want to spend my birthday! With full confidence that our guide Silke would practice all social distancing and sanitization practices I felt safe to invite my family. From the start to finish this journey was organized and informative. My siblings had all different levels of paddling experience and Silkes patience really shone bright that meant for a comfortable paddle and pace. Along the way we got to see plenty star fish, eagles and seals! When ready for our delicious lunch Silke found us a private beach to dock and enjoy the views away from crowds. To our delight on our paddle back Silke shared Indigenous history of where we were passing by. Overall this was a perfect day to connect with family and nature and will be cherished for many years to come!! Cant speak highly enough of Wild root journeys and the fantastic staycation celebration it turned out to be.
Jillian Soh: Beautiful day out on the water with Silke - who is so sincere, thoughtful, and knowledgeable! Best kayaking instruction I've ever received. Comfortable and welcomed as part of the queer community. Thank you!
Kailey Robertson: This woman is the absolute best! Silke is professional, fun, passionate about the experience she is sharing, knowledgeable about the environment and ecology around her, and does an amazing job creating an inclusive atmosphere. It was amazing to discover what's accessible so locally to Vancouver. What a great experience! (lunch was a wonderful touch as well!) Can't wait to do a longer trip!
Tahler Lovell: Booked an 8 person 3 hour Deep Cove Trip for my birthday! All beginners. Had an absolutely amazing time. Our guides were ready to go when we got there, so friendly and relaxed and made us feel so at ease and safe. We headed straight out after a quick but thorough safety talk. They got us all situated and comfortable in our kayaks. Really took great care of us. We stopped at a little beach for a snack and they brought me A BIRTHDAY SURPRISE. CAKE! from a little bakery near her home. Completely went above and beyond my expectations. Silke shared some really cool information about the land we were near. Truly felt like we were travelling with friends not guides. They were very patient while we all got our groove in the water. I will ALWAYS choose Wild Root Journeys for any future kayaking endeavors. Truly wonderful people.
Jocelyn Morgan: We booked Wild Roots for the Deep Cove day journey for my girlfriends bachlorette party. It was an amazing day! We saw tons of wildlife, and spent six hours Kayaking around gorgeous Deep Cove. We stopped for a provided lunch and all dietary restrictions were 100% accomodated. Lunch was healthy and we ate it picnic style on a beautiful island. Silke our guide was so knowledgable about the area, wildlife, and on Kayaking generally. We had some beginners and everyone felt safe, taken care of, and had a great time. We also had one pregnant participant and she was put in the Princess seat in a two person Kayak with our guide so that she could rest when needed and just enjoy the view. She loved it! Absolutely spectacular day. Cannot say enough good things about Wild Roots. Completely tailored our journey to what we were looking for. Amazing day, amazing guide, and it really was a journey worth taking! I would do it again in a heartbeat! And absolutely recommend it as a bachlorette event. Thank you Wild Roots!
Radovan Andrej Grezo: Kayaking for the first time ever, I couldn't have picked a better guide than Silke. She made sure everyone was safe (no capsizing at all!) and had a great time on the water, outside the city. It was really fun to paddle with her.Thinking back on some other kayaking tours I was looking into in Vancouver, I definitely felt like picking Silke's was the right decision because it's not in the city-bay side, but she takes you out of the city a bit. So you're kayaking surrounded by beautiful nature. We even got a seal or two to come by and say hi to us!
Amelie Hnm: Today, I had a great kayaking experience with Silke. She is a very nice person and pays attention to your own needs. She has very good teaching skills and is also a person with a very admirable character :) ! I really enjoyed the time with you and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to do kayaking, no matter if beginner or advanced. Thank you Silke for all the great experiences, including seals, starfish and your personality! Hugs, Amelie :)
Jason Short: Amazing trip, seriously life affirming and beautiful
Elli Klaus: My recent four day trip to the Broken Group Islands with WildRootJourneys was a definite highlight of my summer! Not only are the islands one of the most spectacular places I have ever visited, but our guides Silke and Agnes made this trip a journey of a lifetime.I have spend much time and many years exploring the beauty of BC but I learned that to truly get off the beaten path one needs to get in a kayak! Words can not describe the feeling of bliss and peace when quietly gliding through the water whilst surrounded by the most beautiful nature. We saw sea stars of every colour, eagles, bears, ravens, ancient trees and even a humpback whale on our way home.Silke and Agnes are extremely passionate about what they do and their love for their work and their knowledge, passion, and respect for nature and indigenous culture made this trip outstanding. I have gone on many tours in the past and I can honestly say that I have never had guides that expressed so much passion for what they do. Their positive energy, never ending patience with all of our quirks and demands, and not to mention their top chef culinary skills (!) made this vacation five star. Silke asks her guest about dietary restrictions at the start of the trip and being the only vegan she went beyond the call of duty in catering to my diet and cooking up gourmet meals for me!It is also worth mentioning that Silke's equipment was top notch, clean and everything was in great condition. Many of us were beginners but Silke and Agnes made sure every day that we were all safe and sound and learning great outdoor skills along the way.I can't wait to join Silke again on another tour!
Miles Mitchinson: The coast of BC is an incredibly beautiful place on it's own, but experiencing it at water-level by kayak with Wild Root Journeys takes it all to another level. It's hard to express just how much the passion and knowledge of our kayak guides (Agnes and Silke) added to our 4 days together in the Broken Island Group. There's a genuine love and appreciation for nature, history, and the indigenous people who have called this area home for thousands of years, and all of that is so evident and so valuable to this experience. And they can cook too! I was amazed at how they whipped up these restaurant-quality meals in minutes, using just a little camp stove on a beach. From the cooking to the logistics of ferries and carting supplies... everything just seemed so seamless (although I'm sure they had a ton of behind-the-scenes work going on).But what I really take away from this whole experience are the deep connections made... by the campfire at night with a diverse group of people (none of our group of 7 knew each other prior to the trip but we ended feeling like a little family)... and with nature (my favorite was late-night swimming with the glowing bio-luminescence, oh and the two black bear sightings, and dolphins).I can't thank you enough, Silke and Agnes and WRJ, for the experience, and I highly recommend everyone to take a trip with them to really immerse yourselves into the beautiful natural BC coast.

Northshore Kayaking: what do users think?
HU MAN ANGEL: Peace
Evan Aagaard: This turned out to be a good alternative vs. renting from Deep Cove which is now so busy they get booked up 8 weeks in advance. We rented two double kayaks for 4 people and Kit dropped the boats and gear off at an easy launch point from Little Cates Park just a little south of the traditional Deep Cove launch point. It was a little hard to get ahold of Northshore through the week to get things organized and confirmed. Of the 3 different phone numbers on the site only one of them seemed to work so I think the site needs some updating. The gear was of good quality but well used. If you're heading up Indian Arm and need those-to-find double kayaks with enough room for camping gear, Northshore can get you outfitted.

Cates Park Paddling Centre: what do users think?
DY M: This paddling center has wonderful staff.I didn't rent a kayak to paddle here, I brought my own boat to launch from the beach here last weekend. Because the tide was high, I wasn't sure if the water would flood the wagon I had left on the shore, so I asked this paddling center staff who was on the shore about the height of the tide, and this young guy with long hair named Collin (not sure if I got the name right) was very kind and said he would stay until 7:00pmand if the tide was too high he would help us pull the wagon to higher ground. We got back to the shore at almost 8:00pm and were very surprised to find that the high tide had flooded the entire beach, but our wagon was still intact on the high ramp!Thank you so much Collin!
R Galls: Another great place to Yaddle!
Ace Joy: Staff is so friendly. It was a really nice experience. Just a few minutes from DeepCove.
Martin Jou: Great service and nice people. It is very similar to kayaking at deep cove and they use the same kayaks with rudders. I rented 2 double kayaks with my friends and had a great time :)
Heidi Herrera: Amazing customer service!! Kaitlin was super helpful and very accommodating to our situation.
jaegyu gwak: Rented a SUP for 2 hours and extended 1 more hour.Price is about average, service is awesome, renting process is super fast(I booked online so I don't know about the walk-in), and a cool guy at the beach teaches you quick tips.Thank you for your work guys!!
Chang Qian: Simple online reservation, simple Check in and all the fun.
Sato B: Staff: reception , at the beach site, both staffs were friendly and good manner.I wanted to go kayaking at Deep Cove but it was full booking , they suggested to book here.I didn't know about here.It was hidden place. Not too busy.I will come back again. Was wonderful day !!Thanks.
Melissa Prasad: Absolutely beautiful.Great instructions.Great pricing.
TABA: Friendly staff, enjoyed the experience!
Ben Bishop: Great location for kayaking, paddle boarding and surfskiing!
Pioneer Steel: The staff at Cates are kind, courteous and very pleasant. Customer service seems to be their number one priority. I would definitely come back and I highly recommend the experience for families to enjoy the outdoors.
Peter Heinrich: I took a surfski course here. Seth was the instructor. He's a very qualified surfski enthusiast and racer. Young, very personable and an extremely good teacher. We were using a Think surfski which was very light, amazingly responsive to rudder controls and surprisingly stable. I only went for a swim twice which gave me an opportunity to practice self rescue. Fantastic experience. Highly recommended.
정은영: 이틀에 한번쯤 산책을 딸가족과 가고있는데 바다산책길과 숲속산책 공원넘 조은거 같아요 가끔 독수리도 보구요
Joseph Hough: These guys rock like a boat in a stormy day, but instead of a storm, you'll find very, very friendly people (Hi Kanya!) and service beyond your imagination. From the very start to the very end, you'll (as I did) receive some beneficial pointers about where to kayak, the "do and don't do," the GPS functionality, the waiver, the rope in your kayak, a place to keep your wallet, phone and keys, etc. With that come very friendly conversations and some decent jokes. These guys know what they are doing. And honestly, this is rare to find anywhere! But what about Cates Park? Well, I'll leave it to you to discover. However, be prepared for one-in-a-life-time experience!
Umer Karbari: A really fun and adventurous experience. We did kayaking and it was amazing. 🏻
paul magnus: Great place
Carina O: Had a pleasant experience with the customer service, it's a very nice location with a park that has a playground so it's a great place to go kayaking with kids and then have a picnic and a play. The place is less expensive than at Deep Cove but the view it's not the best and there is pretty strong current there. On the plus side, you can book a spot easier than in Deep Cove.
beebug 14: Imagine touring this beautiful inlet.. the park gets busy and parking could be challenging but its all worth it.
Pia Kar: We enjoyed a wonderful Explorers tour with the Lead Guide, Katrina. The check-in process was easy especially since we filled all our documentation / waivers online. We are experienced kayakers, but it was well worth reviewing the how to steer the kayak, and other safety protocols.Katrina is extremely friendly and shared insights into the surrounding area as we paddled.I highly recommend this summer activity for a family or friends looking for something to do during the week! Not sure how busy they are on the weekends. Cates park has much more parking available than Deep Cove, and is more accessible. The only issue I had was being unable to book our tour online, for whatever reason. But once I emailed them directly, I got a response right away and made the booking via phone.
Jerry Rentuza: Nice beach

Rocky Point Kayak: what do users think?
Naveen Ranganathan: Amazing way to explore Rocky Point. The staffs are wonderful. The tides were high when we visited. The staffs gave us the option to come back and reschedule if needed. Luckily we could manage kayaking and wow what a wonderful time we had also were lucky to spot some seals.
Nina Liu: spent almost every weekend here this summer. all staffs are awesome!
Satish Sekharan: My wife and I signed up for Kayak lesson for beginners. We had a delightful experience. Kaya, our instructor was very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely patient with us. Our group was wonderful as well. We really enjoyed our lesson. We feel very confident about renting kayaks and going out by ourselves in the future. Thank you again to the team at Rocky Point Kayak.
Mariah M: This place is great, I came with my friend to rent out paddle boards for our first time ever trying the activity. The staff was super helpful and kind. Shout out to Evan for making our experience 10/10.
Gordana Panic: Been here a few times for overnight kayak rentals. Great, knowledgable, and friendly staff, fair prices and very stable sea kayaks. Reserve ahead, they are popular. Always great to grab a beer and food truck goodies at the local breweries nearby after a paddle :-)
Enoc Li: super friendly staff and great experience
Jeff Summers: We have been here a few times. Once for lessons and then a few times since to rent kayaks. First and foremost, the kayak lessons they give are great and well worth it.The rental experience is also easy and always fast. Make sure to reserve. You will have a great time as they have many great sites, including seals everywhere, right nearby.
Kevin Budiman: What a great way to explore Rocky Point and Port Moody from the water. The staff were helpful is getting us ready to hit the water. Relaxing activity but still gave us a good work out. We even saw some seals popping up as we kayak. Highly recommend Rocky Point Kayak.
Anastasia Roy: We had an awesome SUP lesson with Tobias today! It was my first time on a paddle board and I had a ridiculously good time. In two hours, we had the basics covered, got to try out a couple of more advanced tricks and even played a game. Bonus: friendly local wildlife Thanks, Rocky Point Kayak team!
Sophie At Travelutions: Love Kayaking at Rocky Point. Rocky Point Kayaking provides great service.
Angelika “Oldtimer on tour” Iris: Toller Service, war das erste mal mit 62 im Kajak. Lief super. Hatten 27 Seals und einen Eagle beim Frühstück
Dean: Easy to deal with, great service. Will be back.
Melody Monro: Booked on line, clear instructions, staff helpful on arrival. All around great experience!
Fraser Jurock: Great time, and super friendly and helpful staff. We had some issues regarding our prices switching from a double kayak to paddle boards and the gentleman there was awesome and patiently clarified everything for us.
Agnes Yu: Great place to kayak for first timers and beginners! The water is generally calm and I recommend going in the morning as there's much less boat traffic. Rocky Point Kayak has an easy-to-use online reservation system with payments and waivers. Staff present were very friendly and informative. They were also flexible with the two hour rental we pre-booked because we arrived at a busy time with a lot of people off loading and on boarding; they allowed us to start counting our two hours from the moment we entered the water. Overall a very fun and pleasant experience!
Rajdeep Brar: Wonderful experience! Very friendly people and easy to follow booking procedures.
Shawn Taylor: Did a lesson on self rescue, which they require to go solo kayaking. It was an informative lesson and actually a lot of fun as well. I'm looking forward to getting back out on the water in the next few week. Prices are fair and it's a great place to learn because you are relatively sheltered that far into the inlet. Go check them out!
Cameron Saylor: We had a great time out on the water all thanks to the team at Rocky Point Kayak....very friendly team From check in to the crew at the dock. Phenomenal customer service (once we got situated)I do have one negative. Is when we checked in the girl got us Our waivers and we did them (online). And she pretty much forgot about us. So we stood around for a good 10 minutes waiting for her to come take our payment and get us set up with paddles and vest.It wasn't until we noticed her walking out the door ready to head home and she was gone. Finally we asked the gentleman who was helping literally everyone by now. Came up and helped us to our stuff. And sent us to the dock.We could've gotten away without paying but we told the gentleman at the end we had to still pay and he was a bit taken back that didn't happen yet. But was thankful for our honestly. After that whole thing we were on the water with help for the dock crew (who were super friendly and professional even with being super busy)So hats off to the gentleman at check in. We didn't get his name but found out he's from Switzerland. And to the Dock Crew keep up the hard work.
aman basra: Great place to Kayak! Tobi was super amazing as well. Highly recommend!
Sophie Tsai: Good customer service, and the prices are very fair. Loved kayaking around here. Waters were not too rough when we went around early afternoon. Saw tons of birds, and a couple of seals.
Malee G: Perfect way to get away from the heat, great location to go kayaking and paddle boarding. Bbq spots and picnic areas at the park.

Middleton's Canoes & Kayaks: what do users think?
Octavian: Great Experience! David was a blast to deal with, super helpful and friendly and hooked us up with 2 canoes for a day adventure to Deep Cove. Will come again :D
Elina Goldin: I'm a couple months late on this review but we had such a wonderful experience renting from Dave! He was able to find us a canoe for our extremely last minute Canada Day outing, and took the time to chat with us and offer all the tips we could need. We'll be coming back for all our future rentals and encourage everyone to do the same. Thanks Dave!
Jordan Larkins: Great rental spot! Dave makes it easy and convenient to rent a craft and get on the water. He even taught me how to tie all the knots! He's got some nice equipment at good prices.
Aye Min: I had an amazing experience with Kayak Rental here a few summer ago. Thinking of getting a kayak again soon from David for the upcoming summer!
Jessica Richmond: 10/10 for service and value for money. David was super helpful and very efficient. We had a fantastic trip and the kayak was perfect. Highly recommend. Thank you very much!! From the French & the British :)
Jennifer Lynn Bolster: Just booked with Middletons! Usually I wouldn't write a review until after the experience, however Mr.Middleton was so pleasant and accommodating in helping us reserve and book some kayaks I had to get ahead of the review early. Incredible to see such devote customer service, even during a time where the businesses are so busy. Thanks Dave!
Ash H: Great service, David was very knowledgeable and accomodating. Made the process super simple and straightforward. Also a great price compared to other rental locations. Great guy.
Candice Ip: David has fantastic boats and is clearly very knowledgeable and friendly. He helped us with tips for our overnight camping/kayaking trip and made it possible for us to bring his double kayak over our small hatchback car! Would definitely recommend him.
Madeleine Service: Absolutely wonderful experience. My friends and I were doing a trip from Deep Cove to Twin Islands and Deep Cove Rentals was all sold out. I got in touch with Dave and I'm so glad I did. Not only were the rates cheaper, but Dave helped me put the kayak on my roof rack, demonstrated how to use the safety equipment, taught me some knots, and gave me loads of other practical information. The rental came with everything I needed, I just brought the dry bags.
Elisa Cardona: I am extremely happy with this place and will be returning. Running shop from his backyard, gives the true "Mom & Pops" feeling. The owner David is courteous, kind, and a great conversationalist. He knows great spots to visit by canoe and gives great tips. I highly recommend him.
Robert Veerman: Dave is such a knowledgeable and helpful person. He helped us pick the right canoe for the water we were going to be paddling in and helped us out a lot with mounting the two canoes on top of our SUV. Make sure you have a car / SUV with rails going front to back! Dave provides us with the horizontal supports to mount the canoes. 10/10 would rent canoes from Dave again.
Jared Pagotto: Had a great experience with Dave. Wanted to book a last minute overnight kayak trip and he was more than accommodating. I'm happy the other places were sold out and that I came across this business, because now I'll only go to him for rentals.
Oliver Boekbinder: Such a great home based business. David is super nice, helpful, and knowledgable. We were able to very easily pick up a canoe for a paddle, last minute on a Saturday.
D'Anne Abrams: I have canoed all over the world these canoes are the most durable and sturdy for rough waters. The lightweight frame makes transporting them easy! Even when I'm alone! Thank you Dave!
