Liz P: Already a repeat customer (home owner), I'd happily work with them again on future projects.Several years ago Lauten built and installed extensive cabinetry for our kitchen, dining room, powder room, office, and single bedroom (100+ doors & drawers!). We were so pleased with their work that we asked them back when we renovated the master bedroom and two other bathrooms.Last week we had to replace the built-in fridge and needed an adjustment to the millwork. No problem! They sent someone over the same day we called and got it done on the spot. Great service!

Paul Steinbok: I used GVA contracting to replace a 37 year old metal garage door. Fred was very prompt in providing an estimate and arranging for his workers to complete the job. When the door was replaced, the old deadbolt did not fit and the workers ended up placing a new dead bolt lock. Of course, the keys were now different than before and this would be an inconvenience. I spoke with Fred by phone to see if he could look at whether the old lock could be used. He came over himself in the evening. He noted that, as his crew had said, the old lock did not fit the new door. Amazingly, he was able to use the dead bolt part of the new lock and retool parts of the old lock so that the combined lock worked perfectly and now we could still use our old keys as before. I was very impressed by his ability to think out of the box and problem solve so that the end result was exactly as we wished. There was no extra charge for his time in dealing with this. I will use GVA again and highly recommend the company and Fred.Service:Repairs maintenance
Muni Lim: Fred did an excellent job on our flooring. We had our balcony deck reinstalled with Trax. He removed our old cedar and replaced them with Trax. His workmanship is neat and tidy. He was on schedule and finished the job in the timeline he gave us.We chose GVA based on the reviews we read and he responded the fastest when we called which gives us a positive first impression. Pricing wise, I do believe he was reasonable and more importantly his work quality speaks for itself. We will definitely use him again if we need other stuff done in the home improvement segment. L Claxton: Excellent work; willingly took on a grungy job and did a great job in shoring up the porch as well as replacing deck stairs, a gate, and part of a fence. Went out of his way to blend in the ancient stucco with the repair work. Innovative in determining the best route to take to fix everything. Would highly recommend Fred and will utilize him for any future work.Fred returned to repair windows and soffits (doing an excellent job) and was here after a locksmith had attempted to repair the old but sturdy door hardware. After the locksmith left, the doorknob fell off in 3 days (2 of which we weren't here). Fred repaired it in 45 minutes and it's as good as new.

Due to their popularity, the wait time between your consultation and installation will be a few months but it's worth it.Afton was my design consultant and she was a consummate professional. She was able to give us real time estimates and design changes and was patient to a home design newbie like us.The installation team was quick and professional. They got everything done in just one morning session.The only reason why I did not give 5 stars because of the slight damage to the walls during the installation process. A layperson may not notice it, but it's visible if your look closely. Also, at least one of the brad nails sticks out in an area where I can stab myself. Leslie Dale: I'd been eyeing the Essentials Adjustable Desk for over a year. This desk is absolutely stunning and worth every penny! I mostly worked with Craig and Ben through out the process and they were very kind and always got back to me in a timely manner. There was a problem with shipping though. Something struck the crate and created a hole that punctured one of the screws holding the up/down mechanism in place. Fortunately, the damage wasn't too bad and I was able to re-screw it with little effort. Although, the transport had little to do with the Union Wood Co., Ben was quick to make the situation right, expressing concern and offering several different possible solutions. And after all that, he sent me a complimentary cutting board, pot scrub brush and some additional screws with an apology. I am thoroughly impressed with both the product and customer service!
