Brenda Reid
Brenda Reid: Absolutely the best pet supply store I have had the pleasure of shopping at! Friendly and knowledgeable staff (thank you Kat and Blake) who went out of their way to help me fit the right harness for my dog, answer all of my questions and suggest quality products. They were even able to help me obtain a refund when my pup damaged an item that we had purchased. I was so pleased with all of my purchases and will definitely be buying all of my pet needs there.

Andrea Fernandez
Andrea Fernandez: Called to enquire about the single employee nail trim option that was offered before covid (slightly cheaper). Was told it's still offered on a dog-by-dog case but not listed online. We have been bringing our dog Mylo to see Kat for his nail trims for years and always did the single employee option. The employee on the phone then promptly changed their mind and told me it is actually not offered at all. I feel confident with my dog's history of coming to Discover, he would be perfect with us coming in; Kat even asked us last time if we would be coming in with him for his trim which is how I realized this options was available once again.Unsure of why the employee changed their mind on the phone; guess this is just a special option that only preferred customers get?

Nazila Sedigh
Nazila Sedigh: Mr.Mehran the owner washed and comb my 11 months Yorkie very aggressively!
Miss B
Miss B: My cat had a lion cut and wash here. I had a request for keeping some length of hair. The stylist (or owner) did it perfectly as I wanted. My cat smelled very clean, fresh, and seemed to be calm and content when I pick him up. Will come again :)
Holly Hart
Holly Hart: I recently moved to the neighbourhood and stopped in to see if they could take on my dog. She is a little anxious and doesn't like being groomed, they (Rachel) did a fine job and paid particular attention to the areas that I asked them to. I will be bringing her back regularly. Thanks so much Golden Pet!.
KL Everfree
KL Everfree: Wow, these people were awful. I had been to them a few years ago, and I thought they did a good job with my schnauzer, even though I found them a bit rude. I gave them a positive rating regardless.Today, I went in with my dog in my arms and the man, without even saying hello, said my dog was matted. I take very good care of my mini-schnauzer, and I had brushed him just the night before. There was no way he was matted. In order to prove his point, he had me set my dog on one of the grooming tables and he immediately started to aggressively comb my dog’s long fur with a crooked metal comb. Seeing that my dog was shaking and getting hurt by the comb, I told him stop hurting my dog and to use a slicker brush first.Things went from bad to worse, and I walked out. They we’re horrible and had no regard for my dog. They might give good haircuts, but at what cost??
Andreas Gutsch
Andreas Gutsch: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,Value
Phyllis Moore
Phyllis Moore: I have my nephew's cats visiting and needed to get their nails clipped. I had called numerous vet clinics but as I wasn't a client ran into numerous road blocks including unavailability. I finally called Golden and they not only serviced cats but welcomed them. I was able to get an appointment about 4 hours later and it went smoothly with no trauma to anyone (feline or human)). Highly recommend!
Roxi EE
Roxi EE: Mehran and his staff are very gentle and patient, and do a fantastic job grooming my dog and cats. My dog is very, very anxious, and doesn't trust easily, but even she knows she's in good hands, here. They take extra-special care to comfort her, knowing her temperament.
nuvochic
nuvochic: So far my favorite groomer! Over the years, I've taken my puppy to many different groomers while I travelled or lived in different areas in Canada or the USA, and by far, Golden Pet Services is my favorite! This is the best groom that my puppy has ever had! Not many groomers are skilled with working with doodles. With that being said, I was quite pleased to see the great work that the groomer did with my dog. So many people complimented my dog on his teddy bear cut. The groomer took excellent care of my puppy. Guess who has a permanant groomer! Thanks so much Golden Pet Services. P.S Golden Pet Services gets really busy so make sure to book early.
swift33
swift33: These guys do a great job and also listen to my requests of how I have my dogs hair cut.

Bravo Dog Training & Behaviour: what do users think?
Nathan Salomon
Nathan Salomon: Renée is an awesome dog trainer and did a wonderful job helping us train our Bernedoodle Panda! I would highly recommend her puppy kindergarten and private training sessions!
Eryn MacKenzie
Eryn MacKenzie: I reached out to Renée after dealing with some sudden onset leash reactivity with my Boston terrier. He was a perfectly behaved well socialized little dude until he and I got bit by an off leash dog while he was on leash. Following that he started to get stressed on leash or when other dogs were in our home.Cue me calling Renee for some training assistance. What is so great about Renee is that she came and joined us just on a regular walk so she could observe at first and give feedback. In the end I was really worsening the behaviours and so she gave me training tips for both me and my little dude.Fast forward to living in a condo 2 years later and my dogs leash frustration turned into leash reactivity. I called Renee again and we went out for a walk where she introduced me to marker training. She also encouraged me to just understand and read my dog’s body language and helped me understand when he is over threshold and when to use taught cues like emergency u-turns.It’s been 4 years since we started working with Renee and I couldn’t be more grateful. My dog shows me daily how safe and happy he feels, his reactivity has become greatly reduced with only occasional triggers and best of all my relationship with my dog is stronger than ever.Thank you Renée for giving me all the tools to make Ollie’s life so full. We are so grateful for you.
Rebecca Milman
Rebecca Milman: My reactive doggie and I have been working with Renee and it has been wonderful! It worked very well for us to work virtually from home as he is fearful of strangers and new environments. Renee gave us tools to use in his own space, which helped to get him to a place where we can begin introducing the training in other environments (ie vet visits, public places). We have made so much progress with body handling, leash reactivity, and marker training. Thank you Renee for all your help!
Marina MacDougall
Marina MacDougall: We worked with Renée to help with our dog’s reactivity and it was such a great experience. She’s given us the tools to help us understand his patterns, keep him under threshold, and also how to expand that threshold. We did 3 sessions and have noticed a huge change in his behaviour and confidence. Thanks Renée!
Balen Habeeb
Balen Habeeb: The best 👌👌👌
Barbara Crystal
Barbara Crystal: We adopted a foreign rescue and luckily we were able to get an appointment with Renée fairly quickly because we were quite overwhelmed. I still consider many of the points Renée has raised in our sessions. Most of our sessions were virtual and it’s amazing what we accomplished through video. We now have a well adjusted rescue dog who enjoys her life, we understand her better and continue to see her adapting as she ages. We still celebrate all the small wins! Thanks Bravo Dog!
Christine Fedusiak
Christine Fedusiak: Took puppy kindergarten with Bravo when my dog was a pup, and recently had a behaviour consult for behaviour changes on-leash for my now 5 year old. Super helpful, glad we have this resource!
Jess Culham
Jess Culham: I have had the pleasure of working with the amazing team at Bravo dog both in puppy classes then multiple training sessions over the years with both my dogs. While using positive reinforcement techniques, practice and patience- my dogs have improved 10 fold- all because the amazing team at Bravo Dog. I cannot say enough positive things! Whether you have a puppy, a rescue, or a reactive dog- they have all the education and techniques to successfully address any challenges you have! Don’t send your dogs away for training- learn with them and do the work! Bravo Dog will help!
Emily Drummond
Emily Drummond: Highly recommend Sandy for private training sessions! She is a kind, compassionate, and caring individual who will go above and beyond to help you and your dog. We engaged Sandy earlier this year to help introduce our highly reactive older dog to our new puppy. Sandy delivered a clear and easy-to-follow training plan to help us prepare our senior pup for the new arrival, and additionally gave us lots of bonus enrichment ideas to improve quality of life for our senior. We would never have thought of these ourselves and were so grateful, as taking care of a senior pet comes with so many challenges. We also appreciated that Sandy made things easier for our senior pup by conducting the sessions at our home, and the many kind follow-ups she sent to check on our progress and answer questions. It is clear that she cares deeply for her clients and loves what she does. We would not hesitate to work with her again.
Jenna Beatty
Jenna Beatty: Super recommend Bravo Dogs!! Big thanks to Renée for the virtual training session, and the kindness and empathy the team showed when we were initially emailing them about our dog.My partner and I were skeptical to book an online session at first, thinking it wouldn’t be sufficient to help us train our occasionally reactive dog. We have a 5 year old Great Dane named Cabbie who’s usually an absolute sweetheart but we were struggling with reactivity around the elevator and certain triggers on walks. He was stressed, we were stressed, anyone trying to get out of the elevator while a 140 lb dog was barking at them was stressed. 😅We left the virtual training session with a better understanding of what’s going on with Cabbie during these triggering moments and having a clear path on how to support him in a positive and loving way.Within a week or two there was a HUGE difference in Cabbie’s behaviour. It’s now been a couple of months since our session and Cabbie’s a much more relaxed dog around his triggers (and everyone is much happier around the elevator when he’s there 😂).My partner and I feel so much better and we’re grateful for the simple, yet effective tools we’ve learned. If you’re struggling with reactivity I definitely recommend booking a virtual session at Bravo Dogs, you can train your dog in a caring and supportive way that will give you and your pup confidence. 🤗
Sandra Rodriguez
Sandra Rodriguez: Really good dog training
kate meagher
kate meagher: Bravo Dog are the best!! The trainers are knowledgeable, professional and use positive reinforcement to teach you and your pup how to learn more about each other.Sandy is amazing, patient and a true pro at what she does! The small class sizes really help ensure you get the most from each session. Really could not recommend the team at Bravo Dog more!
Eilis Desmond
Eilis Desmond: Our rescue dog had many behaviour issues when we first got him including fear-based reactivity to both dogs and strange people. Renee gave us the tools we needed to help him overcome these issues and he is a much happier and calmer dog now! The stress in both his and our lives has reduced dramatically. Walking him, having guests over and taking him on trips used to be very difficult and involved a lot of planning and management; now we can just enjoy these occasions.
Shane Houlihan
Shane Houlihan: Thank you to the bravo dog team for all your support and guidance (loads of free educational content on social media and on the podcast). My view on dog guardianship has totally shifted for the better. Life is easier when we can meet our dogs needs. Highly recommend.
Ashley Gribble
Ashley Gribble: Trainers who take pride in education and providing ethical, humane training for dogs and their guardians. They are open, compassionate and non judgmental; ready to help guide you. True leaders.
B K
B K: I’m so glad to see all the education programs in place and have only heard amazing things about sandy and Renee from clients I’ve referred. I feel good knowing I can refer to trainers, like Renee and sandy who take pride in continuing to education themselves. I’m so stoked to see the Dog Walker certificate program in place 🙏🏼 I’m excited to see this grow as we the dog training and walking field is completely unregulated. Absolutely love that you guys are educating the masses in positive reinforcement fear free training methods. Thank you guys for providing so many amazing services and for all the hard work you do.
Amber Young
Amber Young: The trainers who train you! We adopted a street dog five years ago and Reneé worked with us to create a calm, loving and trusting environment for our pup. She gave us the tools to become his advocate and give him the best life possible. We initially completed the 'Mind your manners' course and I've continued to learn through Bravo Dog's social media and podcast. When you choose Bravo Dog, you choose people who use scientifically proven best practices and who have your dog's welfare at the heart of all they do.
Jeff Clark
Jeff Clark: I got a no-notice cancellation for no given reason for the dog training program. Pretty unprofessional.
Gillian Vrooman
Gillian Vrooman: Bravo Dog Training has been amazing to work with! I’ve learned so much about how to help my sensitive English mastiff through fear free & positive reinforcement training… the specialized training and certifications really show, truly experts in animal behaviour. Working with Sandy in particular was amazing & she helped me understand how to empower help my dog build confidence through positive reinforcement & providing choice to help with fear. She fine tunes my training & helps me see when I’m luring vs reinforcing, helps me problem solve and overall is such a support & wealth of knowledge. More importantly my relationship with my dog is better than ever thanks to Bravo ❤️ 🐾
Nadia Langenberg
Nadia Langenberg: We started working with Renee with our fearful rescue about 3 weeks after we got him and can easily say it was the best decision we made. Bravodog training has been invaluable for us. Renee is so knowledgeable, listened to all our concerns and worked with us to come up with personalized solutions that were tailored specifically for what we needed. Can't recommend Bravodog and Renee enough.
David Hui
David Hui: Renee and her team at Bravo Dog are excellent - simply one of the best in the industry. I love how each staff member is vetted, obtained professional certifications, and provide the best for their clients by providing force-free, fear-free, and positive reinforcement based training which is a modern, humane approach to dog training. (As opposed to 'balanced training' or training with aversive tools such as shock/choke collars or fear/intimidation)We have brought our puppy Flan here for puppy classes with Sandy Wei, and we were so thrilled with the education we received. You can seriously tell Sandy is extremely talented at what she does and she makes classes super enjoyable and easily digestible for everyone. We have enrolled our puppy in the next Manners Advanced class and trust that they will provide the best training and knowledge to us possible. If I could give Bravo Dog 6 stars, I seriously would. When I had a negative encounter recently with a stranger who spouted unsolicited, damaging advice and then proceeded to physically hurt my dog and made her scream (!) - I reached out to Renee and Sandy and they provided me with support and it really makes the biggest difference in the world having that help when I needed it. The ladies at Bravo Dog are some of the best people in the world and I am truly grateful for them.I highly recommend Bravo Dog to anyone who wants the best for their dog.

DOGSmart Training & Smart DAYcare: what do users think?
Anita Crampton
Anita Crampton: An excellent positive rewards dog training school. They train you to train your dog. I have a bad habit to slide back into training dogs the Woodhouse Way. Not really appropriate anymore. I go back with every pup.
TheDeadb3ar
TheDeadb3ar: Really good puppy classes with Tracy
Angela Steiner
Angela Steiner: We absolutely loved Alice’s class, she is incredibly knowledgeable. As an experienced dog owner I realized how little I actually knew. Her training is clear and concise. Be prepared she lets you know when your doing something wrong. My husband and I left the class each time in stitches laughing after being told sternly what to do and we needed to be told because everything she said worked. We have promptly signed up for more classes. We loved her attitude she cares about dogs and their well-being first and foremost. Alice does not sugarcoat what she says which is fine with us as we were there to learn. I have read other reviews about about her abruptness and we did not take it personally at all, we felt her priority was in the right place. Which was for the dogs not the feelings of the humans. I give her class five stars you will absolutely benefit if you do what she says.
Zach W (Awesome Cheese)
Zach W (Awesome Cheese): The beginner puppy school is the most useless thing I have done with a puppy because they don’t teach the basic of stay and coming which are important to teach to people because it’s hard to to teach yourself and new puppy to do it. The puppies are separated which I find odd because you should teach your dogs to nice play and meeting other dogs and human. I really don’t think I would recommend this puppy school because it really doesn’t help with much training on staying or come to your new puppy. For amount paid I would expect more personally training than watching videos in which I could easily look up myself.
Jenni
Jenni: I highly recommend the Come When Called Foundations class for anyone whose dog struggles with recall. My dog went from running away and barking at people off leash to me being able to call him away from chasing a coyote, a squirrel, and a group of running dogs! Tracey is a wonderful and knowledgeable instructor who really takes your dog's personality and individual needs into account.
Sandy Leung
Sandy Leung: Alice is an amazing woman and can work with all kinds of dogs. She will be training you! Love the sessions she holds. There are group sessions and private ones to meet your needs. She also does virtual zoom sessions for in home training.
Jess Alfonso
Jess Alfonso: Our dog registered for the canine good neighbour class. Our dog attended the first class. He was sick and couldn’t attend the second class because the vet recommended that.My wife sent an to Beth the trainer telling her about the situation and to request that the training material and homework be forwarded so we could prepare for the following class. No response was received, my wife sent a second request also with no response. Since my wife was concerned that Beth was sick or the class had been cancelled she sent an email to Annette requesting the same information. After 10 days no response response has been received. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. We guess that once you pay you are on your own.
Amy
Amy: Alice is a very knowledgeable trainer and you will NOT regret it. I have an extremely fearful and anxious Australian shepherd that reacts towards dogs, humans, bikes, children etc. We’ve also worked with a few other trainers before coming to Alice. At first, we were a bit nervous because of what people have written on here about her attitude. But if you really want to help your dog, put aside your ego and listen to what she has to offer. I also don’t know any trainers out there that would offer free assessment before committing to classes. My dog was attacked by another dog when he was 3 months old. When we first started the fear and anxiety class, my dog cant even stand seeing or the smell of other dogs. He would go crazy and completely out of control. We did 2 rounds of the fear and anxiety class and he’s much better now. He’s not 100% calm yet, but he’s much more manageable. He is a completely different dog!! We are very thankful of what Alice has done for us. She is truly a very caring person and genuinely wants to help humans understand and build a strong relationship with their dogs.
Jim Miller
Jim Miller: 4 years ago, my partner and I adopted a dog from Korea through an organization that rescues dogs from the meat trade there. When he arrived, while he was very sweet, he was incredibly nervous and frightened of his new environment. We attended a few dog training classes before we found Alice at DogSmart, and while they were good, they didn’t offer the level of expertise and patience we needed for our reactive boy. We started attending Alice’s Reactive Dog Course in 2019 along with some other dogs who had similar issues. While our dog, Gordon, still has work to be done, it is only through listening to Alice’s expert tutelage, and her tireless patience, care and generosity, that Gordon has shown so much improvement. I would highly recommend Alice to anyone looking for support with their dogs if they are willing to listen and put in the work.
Alison Staudt
Alison Staudt: My aunt recommended Alice’s anxious/fearful class for my rescue dog that I adopted a few months ago. I must admit I was very disappointed. Alice may have many years of experience but her demeanour is very unprofessional and judgmental. I felt anxious and dreaded going to each class. I already felt vulnerable because I was feeling guilty/unworthy for being unable to meet my dog’s needs. When I went to each class, I felt further judged and criticized. She would “snap” when we would ask simple questions, and even laugh sometimes. My main goal of the class was to reduce my dog’s reactivity and that has not improved one bit. We were supposed to have the dogs meet one another (group class of 4), but that never happened. I would not recommend this class.
Reina
Reina: I had an assignment. I believe their training classes work good for some dogs but I don't feel like to come back. How the lady speak to people is not comfortable. I'm assuming she has a good knowledge of how to approach aggressive dogs but she needs to learn how to approach people.
Nancy Goldberg
Nancy Goldberg: My vet recommended that I retain the services of Alice Fisher DogSmart Trainer for my one and a half year old terrier who was characterized as being reactive. That recommendation turned out to be a real blessing! With the assistance of Alice I can honestly say that, after two months of effort, my dog is well on the way to being “cured” of the anxiety that was underlying his behavioral problems. Alice is a consummate professional who is 100% committed to both the human and canine clients. I was really impressed by Alice’s professionalism. The enthusiasm she brought to each class, the genuine care she showed for our pet, and the compassion she showed for the stress I was suffering as the owner of a reactive dog was greatly appreciated. I participated in small group sessions which were extremely well organized and run. Watching how the owners of other reactive dogs were instructed to deal with their problems and having the opportunity to participate in discussions with them was most helpful. In addition to attending the reactive dog sessions I had a few private sessions with Alice where she observed how our family interacted with our dog in our home. She gave us brilliant suggestions which we have put into practice. I cannot say enough positive things about Alice and her enterprise. I would unconditionally recommend her to anyone with a dog that has behavioral issues. Sincerely Ben and Nancy
Rosemary Smith
Rosemary Smith: We didn't know our Boston Terrier got out of our yard...a rare occasion...until Tracy from DOGSmart arrived with Tootsie in tow!! Tracy was driving by on busy Main Street and noticed our dog (no collar on!!) wandering. She kindly pulled over and leashed Tootsie. Tracy being a professional employee of DOGSmart (fitting name) smartly let Tootsie lead her the distance home to us! We had no idea Tootsie was even missing!!!This was above and beyond the call of duty and level of care and human kindness ❤️ What a testimony to Tracy, an animal lover, who also works in the field. Lucky DOGSmart! Boy will we be using their service if ever needed 🤩Gratefully, Tootsie's Family👪 & Tootsie 🐾
colleen brady
colleen brady: John and I had Tracey as an instructor. The best program was called Walk this Way. We have a very distractible puppy and Tracey was so helpful in guiding us. We had a breakthrough in our last lesson. Thank you Tracey!! As we told Tracey, this was a 4-week session which really needs to be 6-weeks. Nevertheless, we found it so valuable.
chrissy stewart
chrissy stewart: We went in for an assessment to see which class was the best fit for us. The “trainer” rude, distracted and did not assess my dog. She was talking to other clients and not even looking at us when completing the assessment. She did nothing to see where my dog was at in terms of Behavior as we sat down and spoke about previous training. Such a waste of time. She was horrible.Response to owner:I have our conversation saved confirming the date and time. This was your error and don't worry about sending me away because I would never waste my time coming back. As I told you, my dog has had training with different trainers, and successfully completed the training skills we were working on and the others trainers feedback is very different then yours.I was not flustered at all and its ridiculous that you refuse to take any accountability. I agreed with you because I was very unimpressed with your professionalism was happy to end our interaction. I was deliberating posting my review however your response has confirmed my original thoughts. Also when I was walking in the parking lot, i did so as you instructed me as it was to do an " assessment" of his leash handling. Your back was to us talking to others....how could you have done the assessment if you are not going to watch? Our dogs were not close together at that point and when the " assessment" period was over, you seemed more interested in helping the next person and moving us along. Not to mention the other dog was still in the car so I don't believe you were concerned for anyone's safety at that point, You need to reflect back and take some accountability.
Sophie Cooper
Sophie Cooper: We took the Puppy SmartStart class with Tracey and loved it! We learned so much. It was wonderful to see how much Tracey loves her job and all the puppies. She is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. We're excited to continue the training at home and feel like we've been set up for an awesome relationship with our lab. We also appreciated that the class is based on positive dog training rather than reactive training. Could not recommend enough!
B Ridge
B Ridge: I took my dog to the "anxious and fearful" class with Alice and I'm so glad I did! It was a good opportunity to learn about dog anxiety, what to look for and how to respond. The set up is unique compared to standard obedience classes so I had a chance to work with my dog around strange dogs in a controlled way that reduced my stress as well! Alice gave good, practical instruction and explained her methods well. She was always available and invited contact between sessions with videos and pictures of our 'homework' she even spent extra time with me reviewing loose leash walking which has been a struggle for my dog that pulls hard on the leash.I looked at other behaviourists but none were as qualified and the rates at dogsmart are more affordable. I picked this class because of the philosophy of training they endorse. I think some of the critical reviews online should have done their research into positive reinforcement and force free training which does involve a lot of reward and generally that is food for most dogs. Alice teaches you how to use a treat as a reward... not a bribe. I also dont think its realistic to go to a behaviour modification course and not expect to be corrected by the trainer. Alice isn't there to be your best friend or sugar coat things and tell you everything is perfect... why would u need her class then? It's been a few weeks since finishing the class and the results for my dog are undeniable! I'm so pleased my dog is walking calmly on the leash and just seems calmer in general. I plan to keep using Alice as my dogs trainer... seeing results gives me hope I'll be able to help my rescue dog overcome her many fears. 5 stars. Read the website and pick a class!!
Tina V
Tina V: I took a beginner class with my 7 month old chi the other 3 dogs in class were much older and had previous training .after 1st class instructor noticed my dog was nervous n fearfull .she even told the others I may not return cause this wasn't the class for me .she let me continue and didn't speak to the owner like she said she was gonna .so miswell say I donated the money cause got nothing in return .I don't recommend this place nor do I recommend Tracy she did me disservice with not directing me to the right direction. The owner wasn't very quick to respond I'm upset n 😒
Nina Harada
Nina Harada: My husband and I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. We brought him in at a very early age around 6 months old and the instructions we got were mostly around postive reinforcement. There was no corrections as that was considered 'abusive' and unfortunately it's lead to a series of bad behaviors our little corgi now has.We read books from Monks of New Skete and Ian Dunbar (which the lady at the front desk recommended) that specifically states a martingale collar is appropriate at a certain age. When we brought him at 10 months old, Alice reamed us out for having it on him. She was very disrespectful, rude and did not provide any USEFUL information in how to manage his excitement and herding instincts.Fast forward to NOW, where we have gone to take him to a real trainer who told us how to help with our corgi's misbehaviors in a firm and communicative manner. The change is 180. Unreal. We have spent MONEY, TIME, and a tremendous effort to help our dog during the crucial puppy stage only to have received the wrong advise from the DogSmart establishment. I strongly recommend that if your dog is like ours please do not waste your money and time on this business.
Rob R
Rob R: Masumi is the reason people come to dogsmart. She is an excellent trainer and has a very friendly attitude.
Joanne Cheung
Joanne Cheung: Love their agility classes. Mary is the best!

PetSmart: what do users think?
Kaitlin Ashley
Kaitlin Ashley: Pretty busy location so I imagine it's difficult keeping the shelves full. I'm still able to find most things I need! Staff are friendly and helpful .
linda maris
linda maris: Tried to use the drop in service at 5:20pm to have our dachshund’s nails trimmed. They advertise that they are open 8am - 8pm. Parked for $12 at indigo parking 5 blocks away. Walked thru the open door and the 2 groomers that were standing there told us they were closed. When I asked about the sign, they told us the manager in Petsmart refuses to change the sign to reflect their hours. When we asked the Petsmart manager (who was very nice and sympathetic) she said the groomers hours are “fluid” and apologized. We asked to have our parking validated and were told that they only validate at the indigo closest to them. Super disappointing. Won’t be back.
Emma Turgut
Emma Turgut: Their selection for small pets is not as wide as the location at Grandview but still has some of the essentials I need. I come here regularly and have never had a bad experience. Plus I got my hamster from here and although he had mites and currently has alopecia he is my pride and joy 3
Aaron “Crappy” Crassweller
Aaron “Crappy” Crassweller: Got some good pet gear there
burkyyy
burkyyy: Frick ya. Lookin for dog toy. Found one here. You rule
Lisa Suchy
Lisa Suchy: Pet smart is a favorite pastime for my 9 month old puppy. We signed up for training classes the group class wasn't working out for my shy puppy PetSmart offered an upgrade to attend a private class for a one on one training session. I highly recommend a private training class for puppies.
Vanessa Perez Morin
Vanessa Perez Morin: Staff is always friendly in the store. But the service in groomer salon is totally different, they don’t pickup the the phone and they don’t try to give a good customer service.
Evan O'Connor
Evan O'Connor: This location refused to groom my rescue dog because her vaccination papers were written in a foreign language and they didn’t want to do the minimal amount of effort that it would have required to find the information they needed which was clearly legible in the documents provided. They wasted my time and disappointed my daughter two weeks in a row.
Carly R
Carly R: Last night (April 25th, 2023) I visited the store at 8:55 pm to exchange a bag of dog food.I went to the front at approx 858 (they close at 9 pm) and asked a question about the Greenies dog treats. The woman at the front, Lindsay, was happy to help. At first.Once she heard I wanted to exchange something, she let out the biggest, most obvious sigh and said “why do people come in when we are closing” out loud. I quickly responded saying “pardon me?” And then this is how the rest of the conversation went:me: pardon me?Lindsay: you heard me. I don’t know why you had to come in to do this to me.Me: what the heck? Why are you taking out your problems on customers? What did I do to you?Lindsay: *snaps* you shouldn’t be hereMe: why are you taking this out on me?!Lindsay: I’m just having a really bad day ok! Someone just broke in and stole stuff from me.Me: ok but why are you taking this out on the customer? This is wrong. You can’t do this to customers.Lindsay: *leaves the cash register area*This is the most horrific customer experience I have ever had in my 24 years of existence. I will never forget what happened tonight. Don’t worry, I will still be shopping at pet smart but you will never be able to erase the most painful and uncomfortable customer service situation I’ve ever experienced.
Abbie
Abbie: Didn't go
Jhon Flow
Jhon Flow: Good pet shop where you can find many options about food, beds, toys, grooming, etc...
Ann K
Ann K: Great.
Christina Thoma
Christina Thoma: Big selection and very helpful staff
M
M: Overpriced chain of stores but staff here is really nice!
Katrina Kollmann
Katrina Kollmann: Clean facility. Kind and helpful staff. The small pets look healthy as well which is a large indication of a good pet store. Bring your doggies for a treat!
Ryusuke Fukazawa (Ryu)
Ryusuke Fukazawa (Ryu): Every time I come, I have nothing but a positive experience! A little bit of a crammed store in my opinion, especially compared the one in Richmond that I visit often. But the staff are super friendly, everything that I look for is in-stock majority of the time, and there's great selection on pet products. Probably my favourite PetSmart!
Felipe Verdugo
Felipe Verdugo: Great and knowledgeable service. Thanks guys!
Yu Chi Chiu
Yu Chi Chiu: Quite busy at this location (so sometimes there would be a long line-up for the cashier or exotic area), but that would be the only negative thing I can think of.It is overall a very good location: the staff here is always really helpful. They are also one of the few stores that sell crickets (quite difficult to find in Vancouver in my experience), so that is always a plus for people keeping herptiles.
Moj Noroozi
Moj Noroozi: The store is huge and has a lot of stuff to select. But we had to wait for someone to help us about 15 minutes. There was only one guy to help customers who was helpful at the end.
David Finden
David Finden: The woman helping me in the fish department seemed to really know her stuff.
Mae Postel
Mae Postel: Staff here are friendly. Theres alot of variety of food treats etc. However if you have an XS or small dog the clothes are very limited and not the greatest of selections.Otherwise its pretty good store for all your pet needs.

Patricia Melgar
Patricia Melgar: Doaa is an amazing holistic dog trainer who has helped us with our 1 year old Aussiedoodle. After being neutered, our dog had a lot of reactions to humans and other dogs, so we were very worried. Doaa took the time to explain to us what it would take to help our dog become more comfortable and better behaved. She gave us valuable insight and guidance on how to be compassionate and understanding dog owners. With Doaa’s help, our dog has made tremendous progress. He can now interact with humans and dogs and we know how to move forward to continue progressing his training. We are so grateful for Doaa and her expertise. She is kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable in the field of holistic dog training. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for help with their dog’s training. She is an incredible trainer who has made a huge difference in our lives!
Joyce Poon
Joyce Poon: Doaa is so wonderful with our pup! She’s helped us with training, sitting, and walks since he was a puppy. She was a great help when our pup was in a cast after surgery and during rehab.
Hope Aylen
Hope Aylen: Doaa is so so helpful with our one eyed cat. We were having issues with her biting at our hands and Doaa gave us all the tips and tricks after visiting her. You can tell Doaa is a super caring pet owner and that transcends into caring about not only her own animals but yours as well. Highly recommend her services as she is very well informed and responsive.
Leah Erickson
Leah Erickson: Doaa is amazing. She absolutely loves animals and she always has their best interest at heart. She does her best to help you relate better with your animal so it can help it lives its best life. She helped me with my bored cat and made my home more cat friendly.
V
V: Doaa is LIFECHANGING.We are first-time cat owners, to a 3 y/o female feline rescue, Cocoa. Doaa has been a part of our journey since we first consulted her earlier this year, which was especially valuable, given that there was no previous history that came with Cocoa.Doaa is a fast observer, and understands cats in ways that my husband and I can’t even process. At the initial consult, she came to quickly understand Cocoa’s disposition, and really understood how to 1) solve her litter box issues, 2) catify the home, and 3) build feline confidence - paired with actual, actionable advice with lots of different product suggestions. Doaa is a must-have contact / educator / support for first-time (or really anyone looking to understand their pets further!) owners.THANK YOU DOAA!
Lexy Brouwer
Lexy Brouwer: Doaa was AMAZING!! From the very thorough initial consultation to the consistent check-ins afterward, it was clear that she really cared about my cat. She gave great recommendations in a way that was easy to understand and follow. My cat’s litter box issues are solved and she is relaxed and happy! Thanks Doaa!!
Leah Kozak
Leah Kozak: Our experience with Doaa and how she completely changed our little kitty’s life and ours was remarkable! Our kitty was brought over from Bali 7 years ago, and over the years had grown very anxious. He would wake up up screaming and meowing through the night EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for the last 7 years. We finally got him on some medication that would sometimes help, but our issue was fixed. I came across Doaa online and at this point being desperate was willing to try anything and everything. After 2 months of working with her, and cat is completely off his medication, and sleeps through the night EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! It’s a miracle. Doaa is a true miracle, and knows cats inside and out and knew exactly what his issue was. We toughed out the process, along the way with some doubts that we would ever get sleep, but she encouraged us to stay strong and stick with it. We give Doaa a million stars, highly recommend!
Rita L
Rita L: Doaa helped me understand the underlying issue of my cat. My baby Luna became extremely anxious after a traumatic pidgeon encounter so I took her to the vet numerous times and they kept giving my her injections but it only helped short term and she would return to her stressed and anxious self. I felt stuck so I reached out to Doaa for help and she really listened to my concern and was able to help me understand WHY my cat was so stressed and HOW to help improve the situation. She was able to provide continuous support at any time and answered any questions or concerns. I highly recommend Doaa to help with your pet needs! Thank you so much for helping us!! Luna and Simba appreciate you so much!
B W
B W: Doaa was amazing with our cat, Izzy. Our previous catsitter moved out of the city and we were completely stressed over being able to find someone who we could trust to watch our girl. From the initial consultation to the very last day, Doaa was extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and it was obvious that she cared deeply about animal welfare. 10/10 experience, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for pet sitting services!
Alexandra Luchenko
Alexandra Luchenko: Our pups love Doaa! They get so excited when she comes. Since working with her, they have gained so much confidence and are much more social with other dogs and people - she really has helped enrich their lives! She really took the time to build a relationship with both of them, even when one started off quite timid with her - now they are best friends. The dogs are also a pleasure to walk for us now, which wasn’t always the case with two enthusiastic young puppies.
maxien87
maxien87: Out of nowhere my 1.5 year-old indoor, social, attention loving cat suddenly started peeing on my bed. I tried everything: vet, urine test, antibiotics, change diet, feliaway, move the litter box, change the litter, changed how/when she was fed, had playtime before bed, I even tried locking her out of the room at night— which was heartbreaking because she cried. Nothing worked! I just could not understand why she was doing this because nothing else about her changed, there was no other symptoms. After months of this and sleeping with a plastic sheet on my bed I was at the end of my rope. I just couldn’t stand it anymore but there was no way I was getting rid of my cat. Finally I caved and started looking for a cat behaviourist because the vet had no answers and neither did the Internet. After googling for a while I stumbled across Doaa’s website. She was the first behaviourist that was offering an initial in person visit (everyone else was online only). The in person visit was really important to me because there was no other symptoms so I needed someone to come and interact with my cat in the home to better understand her.Even though I was out of her normal service area after hearing how hopeless I was she made an exception and came over. She immediately understood my cat’s personality, investigated the home and made a whole bunch of notes for me with suggestions—that through all of my research had never come up. I was thrilled to have a game plan. Some of the changes were easy and fast, others slow—we were playing the long game.It took some time but we’re finally able to nail down why she was peeing on the bed. It turns out she was mad at me for some reason or another; eventually we were able to pinpoint exactly what reasons would make her upset and I could make adjustments to avoid them. Now it’s incredibly rare that she’ll pee on the bed and when she does I know exactly what I did to insight her wrath. We’ve even started car training which has been going swimmingly due to my cats curious and outgoing nature.Whenever I tell people about Doaa I always refer to her as my cat’s “therapist” because that’s what she was, she was acting as the interpreter by advising me on how my cat was feeling. Even though we solved the peeing issue she has continued to give me valuable advice on how to approach other potential situations.Through all of this Doaa was incredibly accommodating to us and was always available via text when I had questions or concerns or even just proud little videos I could send. I can’t recommend her enough, especially if your pet is medically fine.-From an experienced pet owner
Stacy Wells
Stacy Wells: I cannot express enough how much I recommend Doaa for cat-to-cat introductions. We were struggling for months introducing our new cat to our resident cat and, with Doaa’s help, feel better than ever about their relationship.Doaa provides exceptional service and is available via text whenever we have a question or challenge. I can tell Doaa loves our cats SO much and I am very confident in her knowledge as a cat expert and trainer.I am so glad that we found Doaa. Thank you!!!
Vicky Giles
Vicky Giles: Doaa is great! She really understands animal behaviour, our cat wouldn’t stop spraying since we moved to a bigger condo, all her suggestions and homework really helped! We have had so many what I like to call “dry nights” it’s just amazing! It’s so nice to have my cat back to his old happy self! Thanks Doaa!!!
Kristen Widdowson
Kristen Widdowson: Me and my partner contacted Doaa after experiencing some persistent vocalization and behavioural issues with our 9 year old Cat, Munch. We were at the end of our rope trying to figure it out by ourselves and knew it was time for outside help.Doaa was a godsend. Not only is she experienced but she’s compassionate and not only addresses your animal’s issues but also takes into consideration how it impacts you and your family. She gave us practical and easy to implement tools and suggestions to help Munch and was incredibly insightful when it came to what might be bothering him. I’m so happy to say that a month after meeting with Doaa we’ve seen vast improvement! His vocalization has calmed down and he’s a much happier and well adjusted little guy!I highly recommend Doaa, can’t say enough good things about her and the work she does! If you’re in need of help with you pet give her a call!
Petreece Salterio
Petreece Salterio: We are very grateful to Doaa for helping us with Ebony, our 8.5 yr old cat, who had ongoing litter box issues. As a rescue kitty she seemed to have missed some training from her mom on how to use her box regularly and we lived on a strict schedule of ensuring she used it her box regularly when at home. Unfortunately, there were still accidents and out of desperation contacted Doaa for her help in trying to resolve these incidences. With Doaa's recommendations and guidance, Ebony started using her litter box on her own within a couple of weeks. She has become a more mature and secure kitty, and the reduced stress on us has remarkable. We are very grateful for Doaa's help and would recommend her services and insights to anyone experiencing behaviour issues, even with older cats that seem very set in their ways. Thanks Doaa!
Scott Purvis
Scott Purvis: Doaa is a great listener and observer. She's also intuitive, caring and compassionate. She showed us how to deal with some behavioural issues by helping our cat become more confident. She's generous with her time and follow-ups. Recommended!
Tim Eijgelshoven
Tim Eijgelshoven: Doaa provided us with lots of tips and tricks to help resocialize our COVID kitten. She's easy to talk to, very insightful, creative, and very responsive. If you have issues with your pets, I would highly recommend Doaa's services.
Melissa H
Melissa H: Doaa is an amazing animal behaviourist. She really helped me with my cat. The cat really responded to her and her techniques and information was amazingly helpful. The tools I implemented really worked. She works with you to change your own behavior and how to work with your animal so they can be best pet they can be. She’s a positive reinforcement trainer always making she the animal is comfortable and non stressed. She’s helped me to have a happier and healthier cat and one that’s really well trained. I unequivocally recommend her as a pet trainer. She helped to make my cat more calm and happy and is worth every ounce of her affordable rate. She is also there for her clients with help anytime via email. She provides 5 star treatment to her clients.

My Fluffy Friend's Pet Shop: what do users think?
Jen T
Jen T: Beware of Kathy’s training approach - I am writing this review because I don’t want anyone to go through the nightmare we experienced with Kathy’s methods. It may seem like it’s working in the moment (it convinced me for awhile), but that’s because it’s working for all the wrong reasons. Her approach began with some positive reinforcement, but gradually became more punitive with time. Kathy’s training philosophy is steeped in the highly outdated and de-bunked dominance theory, which was increasingly revealed as time went on. Her latest recommendations to flood my dog with his triggers completely backfired (which I reluctantly tried since she convinced me to do it), and caused him to develop severe phobias in his own neighbourhood. Not only did he become terrified to leave the house, he began to show stress responses as soon as I picked up his leash. I had to carry him out of the house just so he could go to the bathroom, and after I told Kathy the impact of her recommendations, she had zero constructive recommendations whatsoever. Rather, she insisted her approach works on dogs as long as they are healthy - despite my warning her he was showing signs of anxiety. Not only did her recommendations leave me with a highly anxious dog with severe phobias and panic disorder, Kathy did not bother to follow up with us after she left my dog in the worst state of his life. After I cut ties with Kathy, I hired a highly reputable Animal Behaviour and Welfare Scientist with her PhD. She was appalled at Kathy’s punitive methods, which included a “firm correction” of dangling my dog in the air by his head collar for 1-2 minutes after Kathy unsuccessfully demonstrated a “lift and pull” on my dog’s leash - she didn’t heed his warnings, so of course he tried attacking her. Not only did our behaviourist say Kathy’s punishments CONTRIBUTED to and worsened my dog’s fear aggression, she also said these methods would qualify as animal cruelty, as our behaviourist is an international court expert in animal welfare and law. Our behaviourist’s recommendations have been completely opposite to what Kathy’s recommendations were. I was told that Kathy’s quick-fix punishments (shutting down every bark and growl) changed my dog’s behaviour without changing his underlying emotional state - fear. When I used Kathy’s approach, his regressions grew bigger and bigger without warning because he’d been punished for communicating with me. Now that I’m using my behaviourist’s methods, I am shocked that Kathy never taught me a basic counter-conditioning protocol of engage-disengage, which changes an animals’s emotional response to a trigger. My dog caught on really quickly, and it completely transformed him. I am shocked that a so-called professional went straight to trigger flooding instead, which traumatized both my dog and myself.Don’t make the same mistake as I did in working with Kathy's approach - they may work in the short-term, but they work for all the wrong reasons and the results will not last - it means your dog will suppress their behaviours because they are forced to, while their mental health needs are not being addressed. Still not convinced, since you’re seeing progress with her recommendations? Well, I went through that exact same process, as it’s easy to be blinded by the short-term gains. Then ask yourself why she doesn’t publish her last name anywhere on her website, despite being the store owner and trainer - it’s so no one can hold her accountable to her methods. Ask yourself why Kathy doesn’t describe her training philosophy on her site - it’s because it’s highly outdated and abusive. If you research reputable trainers, they list all of the courses they take to stay current in the field - and in my chats with other trainers, they have all said that Kathy’s methods are antiquated approaches from over 20 years ago. I'm glad we cut ties with Kathy, and I’m looking forward to my dog living his best life now that we have our behaviourist's guidance!
Courtney Macrobert
Courtney Macrobert: This place is my go to for all our cats needs!Amazing selection, great prices, but the staff are the real reason we keep coming back ❤ very knowledgeable about their products and services! And the best place in Kits to get your pups groomed!
SSHWC
SSHWC: Very friendly staff, they have a variety of services too, like dog training, teeth cleaning g, grooming etc. Being able to order online is nice, though sometimes they’d have inventory error. Good selection of pet food, even for my cat with CKD I can find things he’s be able to eat!
Jules Labelle
Jules Labelle: best cuts ever for my dog
Emily Do
Emily Do: Cozy and friendly pet store with good selections went there to buy some dried chicken necks for my cat
Roxie Pepper
Roxie Pepper: I came here to get a collar tag for my dog. Not only did his name fit, but both my husband and my number fit on the back of the tag. They also carry Acana at great prices, and offer a deliver-to-your door subscription service. The owner was friendly and I am super happy with this shop. Will continue our food subscription service after my dog graduates from puppy food.
Elsie Beaulieu
Elsie Beaulieu: I wanted to find a healthier cat food for my young cat. The person working was very friendly and helped me pick out the best food which my cat is already loving. I was given plenty of help and advice, it was a great experience.
Elaine Luu
Elaine Luu: We brought our 2 year old formosan mountain dog in for training with Kathy this past week and we were absolutely blown away by the knowledge and techniques that she shared with us! Our little rescue formosan is generally quite anxious meeting new people but she was so comfortable with Kathy right from the beginning. Kathy was able to assess and read Rosie's cues quickly and offered us a lot of advice on our concerns. We worked on Rosie's loose leash walking, and her fear of walking on slippery surfaces. In our hour with Kathy, we had Rosie walking a little more comfortably on slippery tile, and she was pulling much less on our leash than before! Kathy was very quick to answer any questions I had through email and her care for us and our dog makes us love her and her shop! On top of the great training advice they educated us on food and nutrition. We'll definitely be returning to visit My Fluffy Friend's for further training and grooming! Thank you Kathy & team for all your help and care for us and our fur-baby!
Angus S
Angus S: Best team we have found in the city. Our groomer, Monica, and the team were wonderful and extremely professional. We had so much anxiety bringing in our Aussie as it was our first time visiting and we were worried about ruining his natural coat but the team knew what they were doing and the BUTT was so well groomed!
Marianus Von Korff
Marianus Von Korff: My Formosan Mountain Dog (FMD) had some issues when i adopted him, and Kathy really helped me get him under control. The first time we went to see her we worked on his prey drive which was out of control when ever he saw a squirrel. It took only one in person session for Kathy to give me the tools and tips to manage him, and now i can walk past squirrels without him losing his mind. The second session we did was for his insecurity with other dogs, Skateboards and certain people. And again with only one in person session with Kathy i am now able to manage him without him losing his mind.Kathy really knows what she is doing, she is responsive to any questions you may have and is very helpful. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone who has a FMD or any other breed. Thank you very much Kathy for all your help.
alan barwell-clarke
alan barwell-clarke: A very good grooming on our first time big hairy dog.
Booker Bransford
Booker Bransford: Always an amazing cut, our Aussiedoodle comes out feeling fresh and happy!
keita amo
keita amo: Kathy is the best dog trainer!!! My 4 years old dog, we just adopted a month ago, we had a great training session with Kathy. Amazing and super surprise, my dog can walk with us so nicely without sniffing and stopping.Highly recommend to take Kathy's dog class!!!
Irena M
Irena M: They did a great job grooming my puppy. The only reason I gave 4/5 starts is because they require your dog to have a rabies vaccine which is not mandatory as per my vet. If your dog does not have this vaccine their policy won’t allow your pet to be groomed with them - just heads up. Monica was very courteous and knowledgeable.
Jillian B
Jillian B: Such helpful service! I live in Alberta but found my two cats’ favourite (discontinued) toy on their website. They usually only ship locally but were willing to accommodate my crazy request to ship it to me. Thank you so much!
Bogdan Brodowski
Bogdan Brodowski: Great peole
Mila Milic
Mila Milic: I booked an appointment over the phone to get my pup’s nails trimmed. There must have been some miscommunication on their end because when I showed up, the manager/owner (?) said my reservation never existed. But instead of turning me away, she accommodated my dog and I. I had to wait outside the shop due to Covid, which was totally fine. They had no-contact payment (link via text) which was cool. And to top it off, they did a great job with my boy’s nails! Aside from that minor reservation hiccup, I’d definitely recommend this place.
Marzia Armonia Rispoli
Marzia Armonia Rispoli: Amazing. Professional and awesome customer service
Laura Briard
Laura Briard: My Fluffy Friend's Pet Shop was recommended to us by the amazing adoption agency we adopted our dog, Boston, from. Boston was a shy/timid puppy and was also having issues with our cat. We reached out to Kathy for assistance and completed a private training appointment as well as the Beginner Elementary Class and we couldn't be happier with the results! The classes helped Boston with comfort and socialization and the private training appointment helped us manage her issues with our cat. We use the skills we learned through both every single day. Kathy is such a knowledgeable and caring instructor. Not only did Boston learn her basic commands, but the classes helped us become more confident pet owners. I highly recommend My Fluffy Friend's Pet Shop and the training they provide!!

Canine Solutions Dog Training: what do users think?
jewlz-cloud
jewlz-cloud: I wouldn’t believe that such a change in how my pup and I communicate would be possible without experiencing it first hand. I felt like Prince was so out of control (lunging at other dogs on our walks, no recall response and so possessive of toys and sticks) and I was getting frustrated because I didn’t know how to tell him what I wanted him to do. Drew gave me the tools I needed to clearly tell Prince what I expected of him using an e-collar. The combination of correction for unwanted behaviour and reward for positive behaviour was so powerful in creating a positive relationship between my pup and I. We can go anywhere now and I’m not worried that he’s going to get hurt or hurt other dogs. I absolutely recommend Drew with Canine Solutions if you want a great bond with your dog and the confidence in knowing your dog will listen to you everywhere you go. Thanks Drew, we couldn’t have come this far without you!
Lynne
Lynne: Without sounding dramatic, Canine Solutions’ training with Drew has completely changed our relationship with our Berne doodle, Davie. Before training Davie was (and continues to be), the star of the dog park but we had almost zero success in having him recall. It was frustrating, discouraging and dangerous. We now have the skills and confidence to take Davie ‘off leash’ on trails and the dog park knowing he will happily return to us when called. We continue to work with him but are so happy that we can enjoy our special pal !! Thanks so much Drew!
Erica Y
Erica Y: We have the dog we always wanted now! Working with Drew has been a transforming experience for us and our excitable Nova Scotia Duck Toller. We had worked with multiple trainers prior to Drew with little success on what we were seeking—reliable recall and off leash reliabilities. Drew's approach is practical and focused. Unlike other trainers, he provides you with the tools and actually teaches you how to use them effectively. The e-collar is simply a form of communication and link to our dogs when their minds are focused on other things.Prior to Drew, our dog did not have any off leash reliability or a reliable recall. Now her recall is spot on and she can be trusted off leash. She enjoys her time outside and understands when it is time to have fun and when it is time to be obedient. Together we now have so much more fun and it is actually an enjoyable experience to be outside, rather than it being stressful and frustrating.Drew also brought his own dogs out for training sessions. Their calming presence was a real gift to help our pup learn to relax and enjoy the presence of other dogs. It also helped simulate more real world scenarios. We're so happy to have worked with Drew and 100% recommend him!
Cat and Olin Thomson-Quam
Cat and Olin Thomson-Quam: We can't say enough good things about Drew and the training methods we learned. We were convinced our 12 month Nova Scotia Duck Toller was untrainable, as we had watched every YouTube video out there, spoke to countless other dog owners about tips and tricks, and nothing worked. She refused to come when called, was constantly distracted, pulled the leash like crazy, and just didn't listen (among lots of other frustrating traits). We also didn't believe Drew after our consultation when he said if we follow the techniques, she would be a different dog after 12 weeks.Well...we can officially eat our words. Using the hands-on training, and following the specific criteria Drew created for us and what we wanted to achieve, we can officially say our dog has done a complete 180. We are constantly amazed with how quickly we were able to train our pup, and how seemingly easy it was (even though we worked hard!). We have an insanely high energy dog who we can now enjoy walking (OFF LEASH!) without the stress of her running off to every dog or person she sees, we can throw her the ball and have her actually play fetch without getting distracting, we can take her on a nice walk as a family now without pulling a muscle from constantly being pulled by her.Drew gave us the confidence (and sometimes a deserved stern talking to), to allow us to command loving respect from our dog. The training and methods we learned in 3 months will continue as we daily work with our pup, so we only expect to see more results as the months go by.If you have been on the fence about getting private training, we implore you to reach out to Drew at Canine Solutions. You won't regret the decision.
Anna Moreau
Anna Moreau: As previous owners of a reactive senior dog, when Queenie (a 3 ½ year old staffy who hadn’t been socialized) came along, we realized we didn’t know how to handle her. We remembered Drew from his stall at Mount Pleasant Car Free Day and decided to call him to talk about our needs. Drew was professional and attentive and super knowledgeable, right from the get go.Drew really listened to us by tailoring our sessions to our needs. Also, Queenie responded so well to him and his training methods. It has been more than a month since our last training session and we found it has been easy to commit to the training. Like other clients of Drew’s, we often get compliments about how well behaved and ‘good’ Queenie is.We are so fortunate to have found Drew for our dog training needs. We would not hesitate to recommend Drew and Canine solutions to any dog owner.Update: it's April 2023 and Queenie is the goodest baby hippo in the world. We attribute a lot of it to Drew's training methods - if you stick with them, they work!
Becky Greenhalgh
Becky Greenhalgh: We were referred to Drew by our neighbour (who was a previous client). Working with Drew was the best decision/investment we could have made for our pup Jersey and our busy family. During our initial meeting with Drew he walked us through his training program and we felt very comfortable and confident in him. We developed a list of goals that we wanted to achieve and throughout the next few weeks we were able to achieve success on each one of these goals! This speaks to the quality and success of his program. Drew was very easy to work, offered a lot of tips and tricks, involved our kids in the training process, checked in to see how our progress was going and was always available for questions which speaks to his commitment level. Our life with Jersey is so much more enjoyable now. Highly recommend Drew.
Nicole
Nicole: Working with Drew on the e-collar course was great! Drew is super organised and the material provided before and between sessions is so professional and well put together to really benefit you beyond just the 1-1 training.Whist I had done as much early training as possible with my dog, the e-collar has been night and day on the final hurdles for a solid recall and overall responsiveness in any environment. The level of freedom my dog has now safely is amazing and I feel so much more confident that we can handle any adventure we want!Would definitely recommend this course to anyone , so worth it.
Brianne Fudge
Brianne Fudge: Our experience with Drew was a really positive one. We appreciated the time he took to teach us how to properly use and respect the e-collar. Our dog Ernie was so overstimulated in very environment we took him to, and because of this training him was becoming super frustrating for us and for him. After training with Drew we now have a relaxed well trained dog who we feel confident to take into all sorts of situations. Instead of dreading taking him to the dog park or busy trails, we look forward to it.
Heather Ferguson
Heather Ferguson: First off - Drew is amazing. I hired Drew when I first adopted my dog. As she was a year old with unknown history, I wanted to get started on the right path and build a relationship with her that would be good for me as well as her.Drew's approach to training seems really basic when you look back as his focus is on a happy healthy dog, but he really picks up on little things that we (humans) don't see that our dogs interpret. The e-collar is one of the best purchases I have ever made and Drew's approach to using it is all about positive reinforcement. I have a dog that I can walk off leash ANYWHERE and who ALWAYS listens to me. I am never that person at the dog park screaming and calling or racing after their dog. I can control her behaviour and interactions with other dogs and people without my voice. I like to expain it to people that her e-collar is an "e-leash" - its there, but not in a physical way. And with Drew's approach, there is nothing negative or punitive about it. Drew has taught me how to have a strong relationship with my dog - give her what she needs to be safe and happy, and how she gives me the confidence and trust in her.Drew also suggested getting a 'place mat', and as someone who lives in an apartment, this is golden. We live in a small place, and she is a big dog with tons of energy, and her 'place' gives her the opportunity to control herself in moments of excitement (when people come over or when someone knocks at the door).Overall, I would recommend Drew to anyone with a dog. Any dog. With issues, no issues. Drew will help to bring you to a better relationship with your fur-baby and be able to give you the confidence to trust your dog in any situation. Drew has the knowledge and personality to bring your relationship with your dog to an entire new level of trust and mutual joy. However, I will make a note here - Drew does not bullsh**t. He is incredilby honest and true, and his heart is with the dog. If you want someone to sell you something you do not need or give you promises that can't be fulfilled - Drew is not your person. Be prepared for some honesty and self-reflection.
Randy Parizeau
Randy Parizeau: When our dog was two, after having done a number of group classes, we realized that we needed to have some individual training for ourselves and our dog. She was barking excessively at our year old grandchild as well as at anyone who came to our door and her recall was not what we wanted it to when we were out with her. After doing some research on trainers we settled on Drew at Canine Solutions Dog Training and are so glad we did. Working with an e-collar to help switch our dog's focus away from something and have her return her attention to us was uncomfortable at first but Drew taught us how and when to use this tool and it became a game changer. We are certain it is not harming our dog and we see such a change in her. She still barks to alert us when someone comes to the door but stops and our dog and our grandchild are getting along! Her recall outdoors and around other dogs is much better and we feel more confident with her off leash. Her loose leash walking manners have also improved significantly.Much of Drew's training focused on us with a lot of teaching on how to handle our dog. It was very personal. He listened well to what we wanted to accomplish and helped us get there. We have learned that we will be doing ongoing work with our dog and now know how to do that.We would highly recommend Drew.
Ger Clarke
Ger Clarke: Drew is absolutely amazing and we have seen so many positive changes in our dog Ozzy in such a short space of time. I didn't know much about e-collar training before but it has been amazing and I was surprised at how quick you can see results. Ozzy is a year and a half old Husky mix who's stubborn, is nervous of strangers, ignores our personal space and a dog I couldn't trust off leash with zero recall amidst distractions and often getting the zoomies. I've often times been embarrassed at the dog park when Ozzy would run around completely ignoring me and misbehaving and I could do nothing about it while he was in that zone.We had our initial consultation where we discussed all the major issues we experience and our goals for turning Ozzy in to a well behaved dog. Drew walked us through his approach and explained how e-collar training works. We set up a training program and got to work. The sessions were easy to follow and Drew is great at guiding you how to get things right. If you take up training with Drew and put the work in together with your dog you will not believe the difference.Ozzy now recalls every time even when he's running around off-leash distracted and playing with all the other dogs.In the house he'll go to his spot when told and remain there amongst distractions so we can cook, eat, relax and even when there's a knock at the door and a stranger arrives. The changes we've seen in Ozzy have been amazing and I cannot recommend Drews program enough.
Allie D
Allie D: Drew is a wonderful trainer! He helped us so much with our sweet rescue, who is a nervous nelly . The e-collar was the perfect device that has enabled us find a way of communicating with her without adding any extra energy to any situation. She's excited to put it on because she knows it means we're going on an adventure. Thank you again Drew for teaching us how to help our sweet girl gain more confidence :). I can't wait to see where she'll be next year!
Teles Santos
Teles Santos: Drew did the impossible and turned our traumatized, spoiled, reactive dachshund into a calm, happy, playful dog! I highly recommend his service! I had spent almost U$3000 in training and gear before I met Drew, and after his training that never happened again!
Nicole Santos
Nicole Santos: Training our dog with Drew completely changed our quality of life. We brought our dachshund from Brazil to Vancouver, she was a pandemic dog (so no socialization) plus the flight was very stressful on her. She was super reactive, anxious, and aggressive towards other people and dogs. After the first class, she was already SO different! Drew presented us with the tools to deal with her behavior and made sure we put in the practice necessary to improve. Now we can walk with her without stress, have people over, and even started letting her off leash without issues! We are so grateful and will recommend Drew to anyone.
Mark Stevenson
Mark Stevenson: Great experience training my 6 month old hound with Drew. Drew was an awesome teacher and my pup is now heeling and recalling without a leash no problem!
Alfrey C
Alfrey C: After two hospital visits and handful of biting incidents as a result of resource and territorial guarding, we were desperate for some guidance...We then came across Drew and through his guidance, we were able to see tremendous change in our dog. Not only did his aggressive behaviour disappear, but he's become extremely obedient and is always giving us his attention.Quite astonishing how we were just fearing for our safety on a daily basis a few months back and now we feel like we're able to enjoy our lives with him without that fear.
Breanne C
Breanne C: Only regret is not doing this sooner! We have a Frenchie/Boxer with a lot of sass, and Drew's techniques have allowed us to better communicate. We have made leaps and bounds in training, no more door rushing, no more leash biting, reduced jumping (still in progress), and way better recall amongst other things. The training program didn't waste time, getting results quickly which was great for our busy schedule and key for us too was that it got the whole family on the same page. The at-home work/routines are reasonable to maintain long term, I can see us continuing to make progress, even to some more difficult tricks and skills post-program now that we have been taught the fundamentals. Thank you Drew, you've been wonderful!
Jennifer Pape
Jennifer Pape: TL;DR: Worth every penny. My 1 year old mini-goldendoodle, Tug, was distracted, chaotic, and lacked boundaries before I reached out to Drew for help. He was dragging me on our walks, picking up alllllll the garbage, and there was no chance I would have ever even dreamed of letting him off leash in an unenclosed space. With Drew's guidance and training methods, including the e-collar, we were able to get Tug calmed down, focused, and our walks are now an absolute pleasure. His recall is so good it's hard to believe he's the same dog, and he LOVES to put on his collar and head out for a training session (he has absolutely no fear or negative association with the collar because of how Drew taught me to use it).Practice makes perfect and we're going to keep at it, but in the 3 months that we've been working with Drew, Tug has basically done a complete 180. No more dragging me around, no more jumping and nipping at me for treats and attention. Just a great dog who now gets to live his best, off-leash life.A big thank you to you, Drew, for all of your help and encouragement along the way. Tug and I so enjoyed working with you, and we're so grateful for everything we've learned! If only you also trained children... ;)
Jourdan Jackson
Jourdan Jackson: We cannot thank Drew at Canine Solutions Dog Training enough! He helped us structure and improve our relationship with our dog, Kipp. We rescued Kipp from the Meat Market in South Korea and understandably, that came with some trauma behaviors. Our main concern was Kipp's intense anxiety which sometimes came out as reactive towards people (particularly men) and food guarding/alpha behaviors with other dogs. It was really hard for us as we are social people with male friends and lots of other dogs in our lives. Our first pet trainer recommended Canine Solutions, but in all honesty, we were quite hesitant about e-collar training. We were afraid that using a balanced approach, rather than a strictly all positive reinforcement approach, would break the bond that we had built with Kipp. Well, we were so wrong. The structure and communication that e-collar training offered made our bond with Kipp stronger than we thought possible. Kipp now looks to us for everything. He trusts us when we tell him someone is safe, meaning that he now wags his tail at our male friends who come over and plays endlessly with dogs without reacting negatively when upset. Kipp's recall is phenomenal for being 1.5 years old. Of course, nothing is perfect, but rarely does he not instantly come back when called which has given him and us such freedom outdoors. He's a happy dog now which means we are happy pet parents! Also, we wanted to mention that Drew is such a caring and responsive trainer. He was attentive and responsive to every concern, and he worked with us at our pace. We didn't realize how important excellent communication between trainer and trainees would be to our success! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Drew!
margot scott
margot scott: Three months ago I adopted two rescue dogs from Mexico. They were small dogs with big insecurities.Although I had raised other dogs nothing had prepared me for these two.I was feeling overwhelmed with trying to train these two very nervous, and reactive dogs, and knew that I would need the help of a professional dog trainer. The owners at my local pet food store (Cascadia), recommended Drew at Canine Solutions. They told me that Drew was experienced with training rescue dogs, and would probably be able to help me.They were correct: Drew has been an immense help. From the first lesson I learned that the dogs needed to know that I was in charge, that they could trust me, and learn to respect me, and I needed to respect their need to be protected from people that they didn't know or trust, at least until they felt more secure and confident in their new world. I learned how to be with them so they, and I, are more relaxed and calm. Thanks to Drew's patient teaching and enthusiastic praise, the dogs have learned to trust me, and I think, they mostly respect me!On walks they heal. They no longer attempt to chase/fight other dogs. They have learned that they have a "place" in the house that is uniquely theirs. They (usually) come when they're called. They are less reactive to new noises, and people. They have learned, and respond to some commands.I have learned to keep them on a schedule - lots of walks and lots of training, and then some much needed down time. I am now realizing how important continuity is with these two and try to respect their dependence on a predictable schedule. It's been a huge amount of work, and I am very grateful to Drew for guiding me through this intense time. Without his incredible experience, his patience, his skill as a calm and assertive trainer, the dogs and I would not be where we are today: more or less happily coexisting!I highly recommend Drew for his training techniques, and his ability to work and communicate well with both the dog and the dog's owner.
Tasaday Pollesel
Tasaday Pollesel: After running into (many) frustrations with my new Frenchie, Roger, I started looking into a professional trainer to try and nip the issues before he was older. I came across Drew’s page and was elated to see all the great reviews/experiences, and free consultation.Once I met Drew, I knew he’d be a great fit for my fur baby. He’s such a professional with tons of experience, knowledge, helpful tips, good follow ups, and is always more than happy to go the extra mile.I can’t thank Drew enough- now I feel confident with Roger and have all the tools I neeed…it’s like I have a new “dream dog”.I would highly recommend Drew to anyone looking to train their dog(s), he’s definitely one of a kind and a game changer!

The Cat Nanny: what do users think?
Kristi Hardy
Kristi Hardy: Angela is the best cat sitter we've ever had. Super attentive and loving towards our cat! Highly recommend.
Ian Chant
Ian Chant: Angela is an excellent cat sitter who we feel very lucky to have taking care of our pet.
Will K
Will K: Kitty Poppins is a knowledgeable, trustworthy, and reliable cat sitter. We've used her services for the past couple years for our special needs cat. When faced with our very shy adopted cat, she's creatively found ways to make sure she gets her meds and built a connection to her. She's gone above and beyond as well. When our sink pipes started spraying water she sent pictures of the issue and offered to help us coordinate a plumber while we're away.
Jonathan Wegner
Jonathan Wegner: We've used a variety of cat sitters and boarding options in the past, but none come close to the level of care and authentic attention to the well-being of our cats as what we experienced with Kitty Poppins. From onboarding, through to drop-off and introduction to the boarding space, Kitty Poppins ensures that the experience is seamless, yet also versatile to each cat's personality and preferences. We have two cats, a very outgoing and boisterous male and a quieter and reserved female, Kitty Poppins sent us frequent updates and let us know how they were going, and how their care routines differed based on their needs. The space is a cat's paradise, with an "outdoor catio" for safe outdoor adventure, spacious and clean cat condos per cat for their personal space and sleep, as well as plenty of things to keep them occupied.Would 100% recommend Kitty Poppins, our cats will certainly be back!
Yvelis Menendez
Yvelis Menendez: TLDR: Kitty Poppins is phenomenal - 5-star service all around! When I needed to take an emergency out-of-state trip, Kitty Poppins was recommended to me by my usual cat boarding place because they were at capacity already. After reaching out, I immediately felt confident in having my baby board here for a couple reasons. My baby has never been boarded in his 12 years of living & is EXTREMRLY timid & skittish of everything & anything. Has never been away from my mother (who was no longer able to take care of him for health reasons). Nor has he ever shared a space with another pet/ animal.Upon disclosing all of the details to Kitty Poppins, she immediately responded with an extremely detailed email of what the typical behavior & acclimation expectations are for newcomers, how the communal space is set up, how newcomers are housed in slightly more secluded condos during their "warm-up" period, how many guests are anticipated to stay during that time frame & their temperament, and about the nature views from the catio.During the stay, she sent me these absolutely stunning photos of my baby along with the behavioral & dietary observations she made that day of him.And to top it off, not only was he sent home as a more confident & relaxed cat, but also threw in some swag & calming treats! (Um, What?! 😲😄🙌🐾) It doesn't end there- Kitty Poppins sent me a final email with links to natural supplements to aid his g.i. issues & help him be less tense with tips on how to get him to eat it (she learned he's also a finicky eater 😅)It was SO easy & relieving knowing Onyx was in phenomenal care and that I was able to dedicate my full attention to tend family matters. Point blank: I was blown away by the attention to detail, care, communication, hospitality, and overall compassion from Kitty Poppins. Do not think twice about whether or not to board your baby here!
Lori Buono
Lori Buono: I cannot say enough good things about Kitty Poppins!!A trip last year prompted me to look for cat boarding for my young active cat and my elder cat who tends to be anxious. I toured several places and was extremely disappointed to find nothing but small cat "prisions", offered at a high price. Keeping my cats in a small contained area for solid week was out of the question.A friend finally recommended Angela, who is (the owner of) Kitty Poppins, and described her as, "part cat herself"!I couldn't agree more. She has a natural compassion, intuition and understanding of cats.Angela has an entire room dedicated to her cat boarders along with an outdoor catio that the cats can access at anytime. She also has individual and airy cat condos for the kitties that need time acclimating. There are plenty of areas for the cats to climb if they need a little space for themselves. My cats found the other cats to be an additional source of stimulation. They came home happy! Both of my cats have done very well on all three of their stays. We have another stay booked for the end of this month!I can't say enough good things about Angela and Kitty Poppins. I highly recommend this cat boarder.I understand that she offers home visits as well.
Hunky Dory
Hunky Dory: Kitty Poppins is simply the best! This was my cat Ash’s first time away from me and I was very nervous about how he would adapt to the new setting. Angela was amazing and so welcoming to me and Ash - I knew right away that he’d have so much fun here! And so he did! Angela was fantastic about sending me daily updates about how he was doing and how much he loooooooved the catio. It was such a relief to know that my cat was in such capable hands while I was away. Next time I go on vacation - I know just who I want to look after my kitty! - Zoe F.
Seattle Rider
Seattle Rider: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueAngela is amazing! Total cat whisperer… Great facility, took amazing care of my cat. It was her first time being boarded and she did great! I Highly recommend kitty poppins to anyone seeking a kind and caring kitty sitter!
Lina Moberg
Lina Moberg: Positive:Quality,Responsiveness,ValueAngela’s Purr Palace must be the best little cat hotel in the world! Our cat Selma loves to hang out there while his hoomans are on vacation. She always sends the best updates and photos, and her love for cats really shines through in everything she does. Thank you Angela!
Annette J.
Annette J.: Angela is amazing :) I was referred to her when another cat hotel was too full to take my cat in during the holidays, I'm so glad they did ! She updates her Instagram daily with photos of her boarding cats so you can see how your cat is getting along with others. She also responds very quickly if you email or text her. Will be asking to board my cat here for all my vacations !
Alley Brown
Alley Brown: Positive:Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueAngela is nothing short of a "cat whisperer "All I can say is when I got home from my two week vacation, my 3 cats just looked at me like "oh, it's you. So when is Angela coming over?" I know they are in safe and fun! hands.
Sara Lufrano
Sara Lufrano: I don't think my cat wanted to come home! She did a wonderful job caring for my big, old dude, Norm. She updated me frequently on how he was, rearranged some of the play boxes so that he could look out of the window, and he came back with a nice shiny, smooth coat. Kitty Poppins is definitely my go to cat nanny now!
Wesley McMurrian
Wesley McMurrian: Kitty Poppins (Seattle area) is fantastic, terrific, and amazing! My 4 month old kitten, fresh off his final vaccination with paperwork and tags, spent a week at her house and came home a better cat all around (not that he was terrible to begin with, but definitely a handful). I found out I needed a major surgery 48 hours ahead of when it was scheduled, and Kitty Poppins went out of her way to help me get kitten's paperwork submitted to her, and communicated promptly and frequently to help me schedule a dropoff within 24 hours of first finding her.As a cat lover, it's natural and understandable to be nervous about trusting your baby or babies to someone you've yet to meet. As I soon found out, there is nothing to be nervous about with Kitty Poppins. Business license - check mark. Feline experience - check mark. Glowing referrals from both clients AND colleagues - check mark. Medical experience and emergency connections - check mark. And finally, after meeting her on both dropoff and pickup, a kind heart and gentle personality - big check marks! If you have a trip, a move, or an emergency, I highly recommend Kitty Poppins for your furry friends! They are in the capable hands of someone who cares about both your pet, AND you!
Alison Shane
Alison Shane: Kitty Poppins is incredible! My feline, Felix, absolutely adores her. Sometimes I think he enjoys when we leave because it means he gets his twice daily visits and cuddles from Ms. Poppins! Her visits are complete with texts, photos, and videos of their time together which helps me feel connected to Felix while I'm away. She is a cat whisper and is also knowledgeable about cat behavior and nutrition. She is simply fantastic!
