Tony Garcia: Empower Fitness is great for all ages. Members are supportive, and the coaches are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Classes are challenging, but if you are unable to do a particular exercise due to a precision injury, instructors provide an alternative exercise. If you enjoy group classes or one-on-one instruction, I recommend Empower Fitness.

But Anja (and everyone) has been so welcoming and so ready and willing to meet me where I’m at in my fitness levels, and has both encouraged and motivated me to push myself, while also adapting to my goals and feedback. Anja has made me feel safe and supported every time!Looking forward to trying out some of Amy’s classes soon!

The coaches are incredible, even in a full class they will spot incorrect form or technique. It's the most welcoming gym I've ever been apart of and the best investment you'll ever make in yourself. Annu Vanga: I have done both group classes and personal training at Empower. The community feel and the culture at the gym is so different from any other gym I have attended. The gym is soacious, well organized and well equipped. Shades 'Fit Over 40' are my favorite group classes.I switched to personal training few months ago to focus my recovery from an injury. My personal trainer Leon is an exceptional trainer. He is patient, designs workouts that work around my injury and strength in a safe way. In 1 session, he helped me get the skill for double unders and rope climb. Never thought I could. Super physced about it. Leon's coaching approach pushes me to get outside my comfort zone and helped boost my confidence. Thank you Leon & Empower!
Amanda Lynn: This glowing review is long overdue -- I've been going to Empower for over a year now, and working with Leon on my fitness goals has been nothing but awesome! The gym itself is well-equipped with everything you need to work up a sweat, and Leon is an incredibly patient, supportive, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly coach -- training sessions are more like hanging out with a friend who just happens to be motivating me to work out! I never get bored or frustrated with my workouts, and anytime I'm struggling, Leon is right there to encourage me with a fist-bump :D I also really appreciate the time he takes to show me safe movements, and suggest at-home routines I can do with minimal equipment between our sessions. I haven't been to a group class yet, but the wider community at Empower seems super friendly, lots of smiles and waves as we cross paths. I'm really glad I found Empower, and the training time with Leon is worth every penny and more! Thank you so much for creating such a welcoming environment in which to achieve my fitness goals!

AM Inspire: I just started group training with Amy at CrossFit Empower (Alma & 4th Ave) on August 1st. What positive rewards I have felt and seen in only a month. The sessions combine dynamic strength training and intense cardio intervals that keep my heart rate up for the full hour. I’m energized for days that follow! I love the group atmosphere with Amy as our skilled and inspiring coach. Highly recommend this place and coach Amy.
Jack Judge: This gym part of the local community here, they do a lot of classes for kids and teens which is a good fit in this neighbourhood. My son even had his 11th birthday party here and everyone had a great time. Good place.

So far, CrossFit has delivered in spades.The workouts, albeit, brief have been challenging. My body is tasked in areas I never quite expect.The instructors are knowledgeable, insightful and caring (I am partial to my introductory coach Amy who first welcomed to this beehive of activity).The winning factor, though, is the welcoming, judging-free, toxic-free environment.At the risk of being saccharine about it, Empower is the perfect place for well-adjusted souls more focused on the journey than the destination.I cannot recommend it enough to anyone bent on improving their physical fitness and positively impact their outlook on life.I am kicking myself for circling the CrossFit well for 6 years and not jumping into it.This place flat out rocks!

Alexandra L: I came to CFK without previous athletic background and wanting to find a community which can support me in building a more active lifestyle. And I found exactly just that. You have to take mandatory foundation classes which gave you solid movements foundation that can be applied beyond the classes. I did my intro with Iker who provided great insights to my body movements and always has your back in every class. Even for a beginner like me, the movements are scalable and I could see my progression within 6-8 months after my first visit. While COVID restricted some of the more social aspects of the gym compared to normal, I still find that the people you meet in class truly roots for you (which goes a long way when you feel like giving up).I cannot recommend this place enough for everyone, no matter what kind of fitness goals you are looking for. You’ll find the workout energizing and fun (though hard), as well as a supportive community of coaches and attendees.
Matt Wende: This place is like a second home to me. I enjoy the workouts, but I look forward to going because of the friends I’ve made there. Small classes means you get more attention from instructors, and after a while they know when to push you and when your giving your all.

I joined with the goal of keeping active and learning something new, but I soon realized the strong sense of community and friendship that's formed at this box.The owner is passionate about CFK and very friendly. He did a great job in making changes in response to the recent pandemic and social environment. He really went a long way to keep members engaged during the lockdown and to continuously improve the class offerings and schedules. All of the coaches are also fantastic. They are extremely knowledge and very engaged in helping and motivating everyone during the class. The coaches are definitely what makes the difference in a class.I highly recommend this box for anyone interested in joining CrossFit!

He was great, taught me everything I needed to know, helped push me mentally, and was right there when I had any questions. The overall atmosphere is awesome, its a friendly, caring community and everyone wants to see you succeed! The owner is very involved and you can tell he is passionate about his gym, and what he does. Would recommend this to anyone!

I've been at the gym for over two years, and it is always a highlight of my week. I'm a middle-aged guy with a lot of responsibility for aging parents, teenage kids and people I care for where I work. But regardless of how difficult life gets, I can always count on a great workout, lots of laughs with a community of friends and a freeing of my mind from the burdens of life.

J Sior: I started private training with the owner after my doctors ordered me to start working out, following confirmation ofTraumatic Brain Injury. He was patient and understood that he would have to tell me over and over again the technique or the exercises because my memory was zero and my brain would forget and in shut down mode. I literally could not do a flow without him telling me what came next. So he has the patience to deal with anyone if he could deal with me in recovery from TBI and Neck Compression. I then had to take a break due to major shoulder injury sustained on my return to work and even though I’m still recovering 10 months later, I have rebounded and he has tailored sessions for me specifically to ensure that we don’t over do it, or that I don’t need manipulation and that I keep good form. He went out of his way to do major research to teach me different movements, alignment techniques and explains when to push me through an exercise. But more importantly HE LISTENS - he respects that I know my body just as well and when I say I need to take it slow or it feels off and we suddenly have switch up the routine he does no questions asked. I’m in recovery and even though we are increasing progress, he is my number cheerleader. Reminding me to strong mentally first and physically second.So even though they are well known for #crossfit they really do private training even more and #functionalbodybuilding is just as hard as CrossFit and perfect for those with injuries and mobility issues.

They warmly introduce you to other members and give you personal and consistent attention. They ensure you are doing the routines/weightlifting correctly so you feel on top of your game. They are very encouraging , and no matter what level you are at, they support and encourage you, as do the other members of the gym. I joined with my two teenage sons, and they love it. They really feel a connection with their community and are inspired to work out. Worth every dollar!

I had two amazing coaches, the programming is spot on, the gym is clean, neat, and spacious, and it seems that the members are a really tight and supportive community. I had a blast and will surely come back to Dynasty whenever I am back in town!

Incredibly knowledgeable and will push you yet take the time to get to know you, create community and make it fun. I've brought friends from other crossfit gyms and they've all said the programming here is the best. On top of the the community of athletes are fantastic. A full range of abilities and an extremely friendly and supportive vibe makes this gym an incredibly inclusive community no matter your skill or capability. Lastly there's always great playlists, the trainers show a lot of modifications and the gym is generally well taken care of, with new equipment being brought in often. I fear the day I might have to move away and can't keep coming here!

Dai “Coach Moose” Manuel: CrossFitBC is hands down the best CrossFit gym community in Vancouver! The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do, and they create a welcoming and supportive environment that makes you want to come back day after day. The programming is challenging but scalable, so whether you're a beginner or an experienced athlete, you'll always get a great workout that pushes you to your limits. And most importantly, the community here is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and supportive, and it really feels like a family. If you're looking for a gym where you can challenge yourself, learn new skills, and be a part of a supportive community, CrossFitBC is the place to be!
Tristan Tran: I did open gym only - I was looking for a gym where I could do my own program, with good olympic bars, bumper plates, and that was never too crowded. I love that you have to book time in advance to work out because it means you’re never waiting for equipment, and it forces you to block out time in your calendar and go (you can’t procrastinate).Staff is friendly, and there’s more of a community vibe than big box gyms - but it doesn’t feel fake and overly friendly. I never did the CrossFit classes - but they look well by dope and approachable coaches.

The classes are amazing, and the coaches really follow up with you and see if you are doing everything correctly. The place is very welcoming and I feel very safe. Sophie and Troy (the owners) are always there with a smile and you feel part of the CrossFit family. Shoutout to Jason - great coach!

Tiana Ewing: I've been to many crossfit/functional fitness gyms over the last few years and this one is absolutely amazing. They offer group crossfit an open gym membership that is super flexible and accommodating. I went with the open gym option but despite this, I still feel a real sense of community and support. Also, as someone with a little more experience, I'm used to getting little to no feedback from coaches, but the coaches here are super helpful and have given me little tips that have helped me! You can tell they really care about your sucess.There's lots of equiptment, space and the gym is clean. I just moved to the area two weeks ago forward to many more sessions here :)

Gabe Davis: This gym is truly a family vibe. You cannot find a cleaner and more experienced staff. The ownership is at the gym everyday and are always there to listen and assist in any way possible. Highly recommended!
JD C: Real talk time. In the last 6 months, they have silently removed 10am and 330pm classes. They’ve cancelled classes with no notice to host a third party workshop rather than running it outside gym hours or reducing hours.They had also quietly removed afternoon open gym times. When asked about it, they deleted and disabled commenting. After promising there will be no afternoon closures in the new year, it was announced the gym will be closed daily 2-3pm for "lunch break". There are seperate morning, noon and evening coaches who just leave when they're done. Could other staff not take lunch when the coaches are there?The gym has a no pets policy due to safety concerns yet the owner’s dog is allowed to roam around the workout space freely… Double standard much?I have seen many long time members leave and even actively recruit others to join them. The gym owners seem to care little about building community, valuing their members or supporting their staff. I rarely see them interact with the students. Thanks to others, I already know where to go next.

Marcela Moreira: I've been trying to get myself moving for the last years with no success or very little of it. I find working out by myself in a conventional gym pretty boring so the discipline it'd require of me is simply non-existent. After a great recommendation from a friend I decided to give CeossFit a try and it was love at first sight! The ppl are very welcoming and friendly, you undoubtedly will get motivated with them cheering for you and giving you tips of how to improve, and I felt looked after at all times, being told to take my time to get up to speed as well as get better with the technique. Raymond especially is a knowledgeable and thoughtful trainer! Just a month and a half in and I've already almost completely recovered from a persistent and extremely mobility reducing shoulder injury and I'm well on my way to exceeding my pre-injury fitness level but with more manageable lifestyle changes that I'll be able to keep up with consistently.

He taught me how important nutrition is, how to build muscles effectively and corrected all the confusion I had. Kate Nugent: I have been working with Charlotte virtually since July and I cannot thank her enough for her nutritional guidance, structured training and overall support. I can truly say this program has changed my life forever. When I first started out the program, I was very unmotivated, felt like I lost the person I was both physically and mentally and stopped enjoying the simple things in life like choosing what to wear, or doing my makeup. Throughout the duration of my training journey, I have lost almost 15lbs. Iron labs was the best decision I could’ve made. John Hallett: I have been training with Martin for at least 5 years. I really appreciate his focused attention on what I'm doing and he can immediately spot me not doing a weight exercise correctly. When I've come with a minor injury he can right away change the workout to accommodate my limitation. He is super encouraging and knows exactly how much to push me to a new personal best without me feeling pressured.He has taken on several new associates recently and I know he has instilled the same exacting standards in them. I'm 75 and hope he's still around when I'm 90!
Barry Hoffman: I have been working with Martin twice a week for almost six years now and couldn't have asked for a better trainer. Each session has been both challenging and a positive experience thanks to his professionalism, his years of experience with fitness training and his ability to easily modify any training session if I'm experiencing an "off" day. Nicandro Calibud: Martin was able to help me loose approximately 20 lbs over 3 months of coaching. I learned of the importance of accounting for my calorific intake as is relates to my daily expenditures, and also the importance of the micronutrient profiles of the food I was eating. I also learned a great deal in terms of technique, when it comes to weight lifting. With a focus on proper form, correct preparation, and joint mobility I was able to make great advances in the weight room, and am able to really enjoy working out without injuries or undue strain. Linda Chamut: I highly recommend Martin and Charlotte of Iron Lab. I am a retired teacher who, in February 2021, found myself hardly able to move about without pain. I decided to contact , Martin, my personal trainer from a number of years ago before I moved out of town. Well, we had a Zoom call and then Martin and Charlotte, working on-line with me immediately set me up with a program and approach that works for me. My body and I thank them all the time as doing activities no longer results in pain and soreness. Both Martin and Charlotte are knowledgeable and flexible in their approach with me, which I appreciate so much. We meet twice a week for 1/2 hour each on-line and , I must say, that it works very well if you, like me, cannot make it to the gym. It is an absolute pleasure to work with these two great people who are dedicated to helping us be the best that we want to be.

Jenika and her coaches really know how to challenge people while making sure we learn good technique and avoid injury. Marick Shakespeare: Westside Training was the last gym that I visited when I moved into the area, and it definitely was best for last! After seeing the facility and meeting coach Jenika I knew that this was the gym for me. Not only was it COVID-19 safe but Jenika also had such a warm presence, with years of experience. I joined into classes right away and was so warmly welcomed by all the members, no matter what class time I attended. All the coaches are very knowledgeable, and have the ability to modify movements if needed.After a couple of months of training at Westside, I spoke to Jenika about my goals, and she suggested I do the individualized programming, best decision I have made! Every week the programming was slightly varied but got me closer to reaching my fitness goals. Not only did Jenika focus on my fitness and movements but she also helped me with my nutrition, which has been a game-changer for my performance. I came out of 6 months individualized programming achieving many of my goals but also a more well-rounded athlete.Jenika has created a safe, fun space , with an amazing community of people. I would highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for a functional training facility.

Dark Prince: I went for the first few sessions and one of the trainer made fun of how I looked and my body...I felt uncomfortable with this experience so I decided not go there even thought I booked for additional sessions...this isn't how you treat someone with different race, skin color and how there body looks..
YJ Kim: Unfortunately, this gym was a big NO-NO for me. First I had to email them several times to consult with someone regarding the membership. Then when the manager arranged the schedule for me, she completely forgot our schedule and pushed me over to some other trainer. The other trainer was good but I was a bit surprised as the manager didn't say anything about who will be training me. So I assumed this new trainer will be training me from onward but the next session, the manager took over and start training me.Aside from who is training who, it was really messy as how the scheduling works, when is the next session etc. When I reach out to them by email, I won't hear back for a good week. During the training session, the trainer looked very indifferent to me and she was attending the session for half the time. She would be so distracted by other patrons in the premise that I feel like I'm not really getting what I paid for. I decide not to continue training with Dynasty anymore after few sessions even though I paid for more sessions because I felt so unwelcomed.
D S: I have trained with Mackenzie Friesen for two years and the five stars are not enough to show how delighted I am to work with her. She is always positive and her energy is contagious and pushes you to new levels. One on one or in a group setting, she excels in making sure your lifting form is on point! I was prone to shoulder and knee injuries and have had no problems with either since working with her. She takes the time to get to know you and what works for you and what doesn't and adjusts accordingly. She is exactly what a coach should be!
Sonia Na: I looked into this place because i was looking for an independent community-minded gym that had a strength/ functional movement focus, and because I've always wanted to learn how to lift barbell weights properly (i.e. without breaking something). Everyone i've met there so far has been friendly, supportive and helpful. Would recommend, whether you are just starting out, or are more advanced in your fitness level.

Jordan Wyatt: Honestly a fantastic community to be a member of (since summer 2022). The cross-section of people at Raincity is diverse and welcoming. The camaraderie between members, regardless of experience, is excellent and the coaches are fun and engaging. I would highly recommend this place!
Chris Xander Rinaldi: - cilquey- poor accommodation for disable and deaf people.- olympic weightlifting class is poor.- crossfit classes are pushy.- price is too expensive.They made me lose my motivation and I didn't want to continue working out at RainCity Athletics anymore.After all, I asked them for refund, but they refused. Shame on them.
Arsen Pelekh: Raincity is an excellent place for everyone. Here you will find a wide range of different workouts: functional/cardio, CrossFit-related types, and Olympic lifting.During each training, you are motivated to improve your technique and learn new movements, so you always feel a progress.Here you will find a great encouraging environment and be always excited about the new workouts
Raskle 604: My name is Joe Currie I’ve been going to this gym since Feb 2021 (I think) I love my gym I would highly recommend this gym for all levels of fitness and skill! They have something for every one. the programming and coaches have helped me and continue to help me reach my goals and then some. The community and coaches are super friendly and helpful and there’s even a turtle named pong that is there occasionally. Couldn’t ask for much more from a gym.

Azita sharifiyaqn: Raincity is one of the most professional gym in the Vancouver. All coaches are seriously an amazing and experienced. Most private gym are scammers, but this one does not charge any extra money their customers. If you are looking for learning and faxing your technique, Raincity is highly recommended.

Kassie Harder: Everything about Raincity athletics is amazing, they really go over and above to make sure all of their members have a great experience. The coaching is fantastic, each and every coach there takes the time to make sure everyone understands the workout and the movements. The community is very welcoming and friendly, I love that they have events where we can get to know each other outside of our regular workout times. The response to covid restrictions has also been over and above, quickly adapting to the ever changing rules, keeping members updated and finding ways to make sure there are safe workout options, even during closures.

Danila Piasco: You can definitely feel a nice positive energy as you walk through the doors ✨ If you want a fun welcoming space and train with lots of smiles - and dogs- around, this is the place.I’ve been training at Raincity since December 2019. Since then, coaches give me feedback in both complex and simple movements. I find this very important when looking for a gym.Also, they have adapted to COVID-19 measures very quickly, keeping members updated, engaged, and active! And of course safe once we went back. Stations are provided, each of them with a sanitation kit.
Grace Goh: I've been coming to Raincity for over a year now. I used to hate working out but not anymore! I've seen so much improvement in my fitness since joining and I love going to the gym now. All the coaches here are amazing. A great community run by people who truly care!
Triane Tambay: All coaches are so friendly and the atmosphere they create makes this a very enjoyable place to workout. There is no weird bro vibes or intimidating gym culture here. It's full of really friendly and supportive people enjoying really tough, but awesome, programming. They have great communication with their members and there is a great community feel to this gym.
