I couldn't be happier with their stock and their service on my PC.I brought in my PC for several upgrades and brought very specific instructions (fan orientation, RGB-management, CPU cooler installation and more) and they met all of them with literally flying colors.If you're like me, you're either too busy and/or too nervous to tinker around your PC yourself - I couldn't be happier with how fast and efficient the builder was. Thomas Fillingham: Went in to get an active USB extension cable. I told the sales kid I had a webcam already connected to 25ft of extension and wanted an active extension to extend it out further. He gave me a 5 meter Techly active cable. I asked him in store did he have anything 25ft long and he didn't know how many feet there are in a meter ...I had to tell him. So he didn't understand how long my extension already was when I told him in feet, but was too something (embarrassed?) to admit it. He might have known this cable on top of the rest, even active, wasn't going to work if he had understood how long my current extension was. The active extension doesn't work. Now I have to go back and return it. Last time I use these guys.
PrithiPal Singh: - Great pc accessories and a go to place when building a pc or just to buy individual components.- they have key switch tray to try feel of different switches if you're out for keyboard hunt.- good return policy within a week I think.- warranty might be overkill in most cases but it's up to you since there's store markup.

Darius (Saxamuhphumpet): Ordered the wrong part twice and wasted an entire month of my time. They said the seller was the issue, but when I looked into it they had actually ordered a part that didn’t even advertise itself as compatible with my laptop. 2 stars because at least they didn’t charge me for wasting a month of time.
Spencer Shack: Typical Mem Ex location: helpful and knowledgeable staff, great stock of products, and a painless experience calling ahead for stock or other questions. This location is reasonably accessed via bus, in my case from Downtown.
Greg Mak: I recently got my computer repaired at this location. Overall it went well. One thing I was hoping for was the diagnostic cost to be deducted from the video card installation repair cost but that never happened.Also on the last day, the rep ended up frustrating me by him saying 'sorry' for every thing that I ask which he thought was a nuisance.Definitely feeling lukewarm over the experience. Not bad but could definitely be better.Edit: I assumed there would only be the video card cost and the diagnostic cost itself and that the diagnostic cost would minus off actual video card costs. But upon calling and clarifying with the memory express lead tech support there was a labor costs along with the actual video card costs and diagnostic fee.Long story short, the diagnostic cost was minus off the labor costs this time. Which the diagnostic cost was still charged and the video card itself was charged.I will bump this review from a 3 star to 4 star to reflect the changes.

Mark Mackenzie: Mike's computers was a good shop, we had bought laptops from them and had repairs done in the past but they are out of business. The notice on the locked door of the Laurel street shop dated March 15 /22 relating to bankruptcy of Mike's Technology Corp states the the property is in the possession of the trustee. I see here that other people have been trying to get refunds on large payments for undelivered orders. I'm only out a bike ride down the slope to the North Arm with my faulty laptop on my back.

VJ Allado: Gave 1 star cause i couldnt give it zero stars. Purchased a Synology NAS and was provided a fake tracking number. Messaged customer service who apologized and said they would get back to me and never heard a word after that. Several messages later and still nothing. Read other reviews where other buyers were also provided fake tracking numbers and did not receive the items purchased. This place is a total scam. Do not buy anything from here.
Vincent N (Enick): I used to love mikes and used them frequently in the past years. Sadly I was let down when I got ghosted on a refund for a 2 3080 preorders leaving me nearly 3500 dollars gone. I was told to be given mailed a cheque, but to no response back after a month. Store does not answer calls and I have emailed multiple times. They used to respond quickly, but now have completely ghosted. I see TD bank has recently filed a lawsuit against them and I hope to get my 3500 back as this is a large sum of money.
Desmond Chai: Preordered a graphics card in June of 2021. It is now March 2022, and I still had not received the graphics card and received no reply when I tried to email customer support.Do not do any business with this fraudulent retailer who takes pre-orders for products they do not have.
Octobyte CA: In 11/30/21 I ordered 3 high end laptops that showed in stock and cost us upfront $11,806.17 wish I paid with credit cards and paying intertest until this is resolved as they did not ship the order, I had to cancel it after a long wait and they have not called yet to make the refund being 3/15/22 now. They were expected to take like 3 weeks to ship. The order showed "Shipping Soon" so we waited like a week and ask why that had not changed, they say they were back logged. We followed up every week or so and it was the same, until finally email after email they got backed to me with a reasonable explanation that they were short staffed due of Covid and there were some weather issues that delayed shipping but they said the order should be shipping soon. We waited again a week or so and nothing. They finally committed to a date for 2/22/22 the latest after we asked if it was better to cancel the order and they said it would also take a long time as they were backed queued on refunds and only reimburse a small amount daily so we waited again for the shipping instead of canceling and nothing, I was so frustrated, I just wanted out at this point from this disappointing transaction. I asked for a cancelation and weeks are passing and still no one has contacted me to arrange anything. I called and can only leave voice messages, and the website seems down since 3/11/22 saying it’s under and update processes. I am a small company and that was big investment, and this has cost me so much time, money and frustration and it’s so unfair that they took my $11,806 immediately and I have to wait until its convenient for them to return it with all what they already cost me, and now not even a follow up. There is a pattern with other complaints I unfortunately just saw in google reviews and BBB. I would have been more careful investing on them if I saw that earlier. Hopefully someone can help me sort this out and make sure this is not happening to others. Please help !
Jonathan Lee: I ordered something on the online store and a $10 coupon was provided. The actual coupon was only $5 , but Ezra helped me investigate. It turns out that the website was not updated to say $5 coupon for a $100 purchase and the old promotion was there. They honored the old coupon and provided excellent customer service while doing so.
Nimet Ladha: Graphics card preordered October 15th 2021. Order canceled and Refund requested December 5th. ( Order 486680, in the amount of $1243.18).Today is February 26th 2022. We are still waiting for our refund. Have made three inquiries (January 4th, 30th and February 24th), but get a stock answer that the request has been expedited.Have been Mike's customer since our son bought his first gaming conputer about five years ago. But this is the first time we have had issue. It reflects very poorly on the business and its ethics. Not sure how to proceed. Looking into getting legal advice..

Homesizzle: Small store that offers awesome products you might not find at big retailers, all at competitive prices. If you want a GPU, they have a wait-list on their website you can sign up to be on for individual cards, no guarantee when you'll get the card you're hunting but it's worth noting.

Matt: I went to this Mike's Computer shop location and decided to have my computer built by them. I had bought all my parts and asked them if they could assemble it for me. I was promised it would be done in two days, but I was able to get it the following day. The build was clean, cable management was clean. And most importantly the computer is in excellent working order. These guys know their stuff. Will be looking at them for future computer builds. Thanks again!
Rich Curren: I recently found myself with a dead monitor, and facing the daunting task of replacing it immediately because it's my sole work monitor. I have no laptop or secondary monitor, so I couldn't perform any work without it, and as a self-employed contractor I was losing income without it.Andrew at the Vancouver store could not have been more responsive or helpful. They immediately set me up with a loner monitor and found the eventual replacement monitor (which was somewhat obscure and hard to find), and he did it incredibly fast and updated me through every step of the process – something that is greatly appreciated when I was in panic mode.Customer service like this seems to be a thing of the past. I actually can't recall the last time I've have a more courteous, honest and helpful consumer experience. I would recommend Mike's Computer Shop, specifically Andrew, to anyone needing help with anything from computer repair to new equipment. 10 out of 5 stars!Also, they have ample parking, which is often a drag!

Tristan took the time to Check it out and explain which program I needed to download. The advice was free and so was the program. I am grateful for that assistance and certainly will come back for bigger problems.
Jeffrey Boone: I was in communication with the shop for months trying to source parts that are in global short supply. I really couldn't believe their level of patience and consideration through the process. When parts finally came available they took every measure to bring everything together quickly... from availability to completed build it was about two weeks. The personal service was extraordinary!!! 10s across the board.

Zosia Cassie: My laptop wasn't getting past the login screen, so I took it to PC Galore. They did a diagnostic (there was a problem with the hard drive), and gave me several options for how to proceed.  I chose to have a used hard drive installed and my files transferred to my new hard drive.  I also bought a hard drive reader from the store, in case there were any more files to transfer and/or to use in the future.Greg resolved my issue in a couple of days, and he was really helpful with explanation, options, and pricing.  He was easy to get in touch with via text and phone. The total for my service was fair and reasonable.My 13 year old Macbook Pro runs faster now with the new-to-me hard drive, and I think that it will last me until I decide to buy a new laptop.  I would definitely return to PC Galore for future service.Thank you for your help, Greg and PC Galore!
Matthew Leung: PC Galore is a gem in the neighbourhood. They are a convenient place to get all sorts of small computer parts, old and new. They were able to perform more advanced repair like soldering, which I found rare among computer repair shops. Without the proper tools like a soldering gun and spare parts, it may be impossible to do these repairs by yourself.Did I mention that they have some super cool antique rare computers on display?

Naser: I went to this business and dealt with the store manager who’s name was Dwight, I’m not sure if he was the owner or not.I did not like his help(if thats what you want to call it, classic sleezy salesman that tried to make me spend more& more money for no reason. I went there to see what he can do to repair my computer system, he told me the issue, but then he kept adding on things i would "need" in order for the computer to work efficiently again, and he went on saying my system is super old and he could upgrade it even to the lastest version. He had the classes sales pitch of “this is old, so you will need this more expensive unit”Long story short, he said I would have to pay something over $1,000 for it all. I took the computer and issues he told me that I had, I went to another location in north van, and they upgraded my system and hardware for on $300…..This place is a big scam that just wants your money. Don’t waste your time and energy or your money. These types of people have no respect nor should anyone respect them.
Outreach Coordinator: Dwight has been my computer guru since the 1980's when I first had one and wrote for a few arts publications. Being from the 1950's before the days colour tv's were popular, I get a C minus in technology. But rest assured Dwight of Concept Computers is always there when the computer has melt downs. The plan gives me peace of mind and I do a lot of searching on the internet. My creative property is a treasure and I feel confident that it is protected!Thanks for all the years of service Dwight.

Crystal Love: Terrible service. Took my computer in, it looked like it was running before I took it home then when I got home was a blue screen. He refused to fix it but offered a trade it. Felt sketchy. Offered no refund. Offered me a drink of wine at closing time, after I told him I didn't drink alcohol. Was completely inappropriate. Horrible experience. Charged me 500. COMPLETE RIPOFF. Took it to the guys down the street they fixed it for 100. Do not take your computer here. I was vulnerable at the time and felt he took advantage of my situation.
Mike Dumler: My old desktop PC recently died. And just like 5 or 6 years ago, when a previous Desktop died, Dwight @ Concept Computers in North Vancouver was able to recover all my data, and set up a reconditioned PC for me. He did this all within 24hrs. Awesome service at a very reasonable cost.
Andy: Waaaaaay over priced and hidden fees. He will quote you one price and when you return to pick up its triple it out of nowhere. He also sold me a faulty Power supply that died a few months later. Stay far away from this guy.

Kenny Baker: I had a good experience last year, but a bad one this year. I think that if you are getting parts and can't wait for Amazon, they are the way to go. But there are better options on-line for any serious computer purchase. I tried to support local brick and mortar stores, but I don't think you need to use this one.

W T: I brought in a computer with battery issues, the technician fixed the battery however in the process of fixing it the keyboard stopped working. The keyboard connection is directly under the battery, however the technician told me it's a new issue and there is no possible way he could have caused the keyboard to stop working. I'm sure he is a very skilled technician however the keyboard was working fine prior to him working on it. Reading past reviews there seems to be a common theme, the owner is great if he fixes it on the first try. Clearly he does not like to be questioned, the issue he caused would most likely be less than a 10 minute fix, but he would rather explain how he's been doing this for 50 years than take responsibility for the issue.Update.. thanks for offering to take it in and look at it. I fixed it myself using the youtube video.
CJ Y: Perhaps I'm unlucky. Spent roughly $500 here to replace an old battery on my laptop. Within 2 months or about 4 or 5 power on cycles after charging the battery as normal, the entire laptop wouldn't power on. Its now a dud laptop. I felt pretty terrible and regret it.The laptop was only 3 years old and in good condition otherwise.Hard to say what went wrong however given everything had been working fine, I suspect there was something wrong with the replacement or installation.I give 2 stars because saying it would take 2-3 hours to complete they had it ready within an hour which was appreciated. I only gave 2 stars because though the problem was not fixed.Seems I might be one of the unlucky ones but my feeling wasn't good about it. I noticed a good amount of 5 star reviews from consumers with 1 or 2 reviews so thought I'd throw my review into the mix as someone with more than 1 or two reviews.Best wishes and have a nice day

The tech upgraded my systems and installed new software as was required. He also provided helpful tips on computing and back up and wireless systems. He was a no nonsense polite guy who works quickly and in a professional manner I immediately trusted his skills. I will not hesitate to call him for future computing needs. A reservation I had was that they were a distance from where my business is but he came on time and did not waste my time. Rebooting the server once a day become a routine.They recommend moving our emails to office365 cloud and setting up a NAS drive for our shared files and for backups as well.This simply solved our problems.In addition they put in place a disaster recovery solutions that can get us back in business within few hours if a major disaster strikes.2 months and counting, the system hasn't have a single hiccup!I highly recommend their services for any local business.

Pat Nguyen: I cannot say enough great things about VCR IT services. Recently, the hard drive on my work desktop crashed. If it wasn't for Rob and his previous recommendation to back up all my data on Carbonite online I would have lost a ton of highly valuable data.When we were having issues with our modem at work, he came out to our facility and resolved the problems within a reasonable time. Their responsiveness is highly commendable. Having someone you can trust to address your computers and IT issues is so important for your business. I know that I can trust them and his awesome team whenever I need technical support.Note: they informed me lately that they have changed their company name. Now they are Vansys Solutions. The tech who was on call helped me fix the problem through a remote support session. Frankly, i was not expecting someone to pick up he phone that late. But they did, even though we did not have any kind of contract.Now, This is what I call first class service!----------------------------------------------------------I manage a restarant in downtown vancouver. Over the weekend we kept having problems with our payment terminals. At random some transactions were not going through. We called this company, they sent a tech within 1.5 hour. He diagnosted the problem. And within 30 minutes we were back in business.I specally appreciated the prompt response.
Ismaelle Mars: I’m posting this review to mention the unbelievable service from the computer support crew. I recently leased out a 3,000sqft office space and called them for a quote. I spoke to Mike, and he was very friendly and informative over the phone. I felt very comfortable talking with him as I am no IT genius. He didn't use all that confusing IT jargon, just what I needed to know and within 15 mins we scheduled an appointment for him to come to my space.During the site inspection he went over every detail possible, things that I never heard of or thought I would need. He also pointed out the areas on where I can hide the cables and make the space more clean looking. I gave him my budget and within 2 hours of leaving my space I got a detailed quote with options. It was nice that he wasn't trying to pad the quote or squeeze out some extra money, but rather guided me to the best options that fit my budget and needs. I had to be price sensitive so he even gave me cheaper options for some items, while others I was able to spend a little more to be more future ready. We spend a long time on a follow-up phone call and he didn't lose patience with me.The day of the install he arrived early to make sure he can complete everything in one day. He even stayed a little later without overcharging me. During the install Mike and his crew offered to help with moving some furniture like the computer desks to make sure his install was clean and ready to go. It was really nice that he went out of his way to help. When he left everything worked seamlessly and I was very impressed. I always thought that he would have to come back due to not completing something or missing a piece. But no he brought everything that I would need and even predicted things that he thought I would want. Plus they cleaned up there mess before they left.Overall I am really pleased with their work and ability to stay within my budget, even with some last minute changes. I would highly recommend them.Update: I had Mike to come to our offices to add 2 work stations to our setup since we are hiring 2 more collaborators. The work was done on Saturday on a rush order.I want to thank them again for their prompt services.
Sarrab Barry: Two months ago we called Vancouver Computer Services in a rush to fix some computer problems in our Downtown office that resulted from an overnight power outage. We spoke to Mike about the problems and he was very knowledgeable and accommodating in scheduling a next day appointment. We were in a huge bind because we could not operate properly without a reliable internet connection. And calling Shaw was our last resort considering the poor services that they have provided to us in the past.The next day Mike showed up on time and within an hour or so had the problem resolved. There was a problem with our wireless router which lost the bridge connection to the Shaw modem after the power outage. Mike was quick to identify the problem and come up with the fix. He also ran diagnostics and clean ups of all of our computers, and made suggestions on how to improve several of the computers that were running slow.We called Vancouver computer services a second time two weeks later to install and configure our brand new professional printer, and to install more RAM on the computers that were running slow. Again, the tech completed the tasks quickly and efficiently at a reasonable cost.We would highly recommend Vancouver computer repairs for your office needs and would not hesitate to call them again for future services.
rizo13a: The one star service turned out to be five stars for me. I have had a problem with the Windows update and sent a message to get a call back. After half a day I called and left a message and finally someone got back to me on a Friday. They said they are moving but can come to my place to fix it and that they can be at my place on Saturday at 1PM. It was in the middle of the day so I arranged everything around that appointment.At 12:30 PM on Saturday (half an hour before the appointment) I got a text message stating"Unfortunately, we have to cancel today's appointment.. we are dealing with an emergency for one of our clients. Our apologies." That was the whole message I got... Not the kind of service I expectedI googled my problem again, and found the recommendation to go to the Microsoft shop, who at least made the computer running again, but will need to bring it back to do a major fix. The good thing about it, Microsoft does not charge for this service. So the bad service of Vancouver Computer Repair Services at least saved me some money. If VCRS are really experts and care about their costumers they would have suggested to check with Microsoft first anyway.Now it is up to you to decide if you want to trust a company that lets you down on short notice. For me it is clear that won't be my business partnerAddendum 11Apr2018: Seen that there is reply from the owner. I have never requested a service for free. Obviously I could not solve the issue at my first attempt an was willing to pay to have it fixed. My suggestion is that it would be easy for you just let people know, that they can first check with the Microsoft store. This is how you build trust and people come back when they have another issue. Furthermore, I have never postponed or cancelled an appointment. You suggested the time and then cancelled on short notice. Your answer just shows me that it is not about your costumer. Mistakes happen. Own it an improve in the future.

Ali Hashim: Really good repair center. They helped me order the part required and then installed it for me. Saved me a lot of money and time compared to going to other repair services. They also recycle of the old battery for me. Location was so easy to get and staff were friendly. Highly recommend checking this place out if you need laptop help.

They undertook a comprehensive diagnostic before starting and found another problem which we were able to fix before it became a major issue. Very polite and efficient people to deal with. Good value for money. They even delivered the laptop back to my home late on a Saturday evening in great working order. Highly recommended!
Sunny: Go elsewhere. Quick to take your computer but so slow to answer any questions and the ticket system is useless. Couldn’t get them to respond once they had my laptop. The whole thing felt weird and dishonest from the repair quote I eventually got that didn’t seem right (the quote suddenly dropped to half when I said I didn’t want to go through with the repair..) to them not responding to email, calls or texts.
Isanya Köhne: Sad to say that my experience with this repair shop wasn't what I had hoped based on some of the reviews here. Recommend doing more research before committing to this business.I went to BC Computers to get the hinges of my Lenovo Ideapad fixed as those had caused my laptop's screen frame to snap and didn't allow the computer to close. Though the service was quick, I had to return cause they did nothing with the hinge cover - which immediately fell off when I got home. Second time they'd done a mediocre job with gluing the hinge cover (dry glue line seeping out) and I came home to discover they didn't put the battery back in properly - whether this was just sloppiness or some scheme I cannot say. All in all not worth 250 CAD.

Yanuo Y: My experience with this place is extremely frustrating. Do not go there is your devices have severe issues. I brought my ipad and my macbook to the store on 2022, September 30. Both of my devices had severe water damage and I came because they promised a 24 diagnostic test. On the first day of the visit they claimed that they will let me know later that day and that 24 diagnostic test turns out to be a lie. I texted them but they will not respond on less you chase them down. If I'm leaving my $2500 worth of devices in this place then I should be informed with an update at each stage. A couple days later they contacted me and claimed that my macbook needs a screen replacement. I went back and paid approximately $500 for a screen replacement for my macbook. Still no updates for my ipad. While the macbook is being fixed I called them multiple times for updates not surprisingly they never picked up. When they finally texted me and told me that my macbook if ready I asked about my ipad they told me it would be too expensive to fix my ipad and I should just get a new one. SO ALL THIS WAITING TIME FOR WHAT why couldn't you tell me this earlier so that I would waste weeks for you just to tell me that I should just get a new one! Anyway that day I picked up my macbook and found out that the screen still has some water mark remaining and had some scratches that was never there before. I waited for 2-3 weeks paid over $500 and went home with an unfixed ipad and partially fixed macbook. I questioned them about the remaining water marks and they told me to get rid of the marks on my macbook I would need to bring it back again for a complete screen replacement but that service would be free. However, they are missing some components and asked me to go back and they will let me know whenever the component is in stock. GUESS WHAT IS MID JANUARY 2023 and they still haven't giving me any update. I tried calling them a couple times and texted them and they only replied to me once saying how they're still missing the components. At this point I just gave up all I can tell you is AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. They lack communication skills and lied to me multiple times. They make promises when they lack the ability to fulfill it and it will just turn out to be a waste of your time. Do not trust them with your computers. The amount of stress this place brought me is worse than all of my finals combined.
