St. John's School: what do users think?
Angela C: BEST SCHOOL EVER
A I: I went to this school as an international student from Japan 8 years ago and loved it so much. The teachers helped me a lot with my English.
John S: Happy parents! Happy students!Amazing OVERqualified teachers and staff! Like a family! We have talked to all the best schools in our city before deciding and committing to SJS’s international baccalaureate program!Very satisfied.
Chris Dyson: I am very pleased with this excellent independent school. The kids really enjoy being here. The after care program is great. The school community has been warm and welcoming. I'm very familiar with the independent school system in BC and would highly recommend St. John's School.
J Bark: Note to reviewers: most of the low star revies made by students have been taken down by the higher ups. they would take you to the priceable office and force you to take it down. I personally think this school is be good but just know when your scrolling through reviews that there is a lot of unheard opinions.
S J: Not a great school if your child is dealing with rude students; good teachers have to play the popularity contest and please everyone, including consistently misbehaving students whom get away with being rude towards other students and staff. The teachers do a great job but have to put up with a lot of garbage and are not fully supported to be able to do their job making it a difficult environment for good students to learn in.
Rob Crawford: Excellent school.
Jing Chi: Coming alot in these school.
Pavic Ng: St John School provided the best service for transportation to school with school bus from Burnaby and Richmond
Jag M: It’s an excellent school with amazing teaching staff and a very inclusive community.
Kappa Kappa: it's cool I guess
sunshine subliminals: Very gooood
andrea ge: yaay
陈坚: 我女儿超级喜欢这学校的老师
Anne-Marie Kee: This school is committed to whole school continuous improvement! Happy to be meeting with the board and leadership team.
Chris Bromige: One of the most attractive/functional basketball courts in Vancouver.
Marco Liu: Good

Vancouver College: what do users think?
FlyingChicken: overrated
Clarence Javelli: 2 kids from vc Elvan planas and Matthew Sarmiento Bullied me throughout high school I don’t recommend sending your kid here if you want them depressed send them to stm good community
OPU Prakash: biased to some Asian students!
Lin Flanagan: Annual Mayfair celebration, school bands, football, food court and games and thrift sale. Good fun !
Akhil Modi: Good 👍
Jonathan Overton: Best school in all the 🌎’s10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Average teacher rating 5/5
Ben V: Went to this school from K-12. The brotherhood, clubs, and environment made it like a second home and left me with many great memories. However - like most Catholic schools - VC is moving in a less Catholic direction these days. Still, without Encounter, Debate, and the HPC, I wouldn't be me.
oknatedawg: i love it here, shout to my buddy jerard paiso and ethan cajigas
Rock Commen: A lot of smart students here. There is a bullying problem among some grades that is worse than public schools. I also don't think the school is as "Catholic" as it should be (some former students agree). It leans more towards being a sports school nowadays.
Aren Bal: Sicko mode
joe jenkins: best school
Ron J: Fantastic private boys school that is strong in faith and building good character.
Frank Nishi: Great School
Griffin Hamilton-Wong: Great school
Bosco Toa: Excellent school in academic, sports n attitude training.
antoni iorizz: What can I say? School maintenance is a solid 9/10. Classrooms can accommodate all class sizes. Teachers range from 6/10 0 - 9/10, average teacher is 8/10 imo. Pretty decent course selection for anyone not interested in going into trades (tons of maths and sciences w/ a few AP options). The community is welcoming to everyone. Overall not a bad choice for anyone interested in sports or anyone trying to get into UBC sciences.
YeWric Production: Benry Hudai
Declan Bostock: I am very happy with my experience at this school.
Michael Kan: Nope.
Peter P: BR. WM. BARNES WAS OUTSTANDING. MANY FROM THE CLASS OF 1963 DID WELL IN VARIOUS PROFESSIONS AND BUSINESS. PETER J.M. PALLESEN, CALGARY, ALBERTA.

Columbia Academy (Downtown Vancouver): what do users think?
Henry: 1 star is too much. At that time, the tuition fee was paid, and I was not given a course arrangement. The teacher and the principal ignored the school that specialized in cheating money, so I went to this school.

Mr.: A school that inspired me to aim higher and do better. Thank you CA !

In these two years at CA, I have learned to be responsible for my studies. The students in CA are also very nice, and they have gained friendship, which may be with me for the rest of my life. CA allowed me to get into the ideal university, and these two years were not in vain.

West Point Grey Academy: what do users think?
Sam King: Cool, they have free wifi with the name wpga-72 and the passwd w1pg23456aThe other network like “secure” or something takes your data and tracks you, so make sure that you use this one to keep your information private and secure. I learned this the hard way when my data was tracked!
lu jiang: Applied for the school for JK as we live in the neiborhood. Teacher who is on the video interviewing the kid was rude, arrogant and unprofessional. Without self introduction, speaking fast with poker face and ended the session rudely without basic manner. I emailed head office but they did not care to response. I guess there is the atitude they want to show.
Bradley Jones: Exception staff and learning experience. I have had the pleasure of dealing with staff and students at WPGA. The school is a model of educating minds as well a model of inspiring spirit. Education is more than addition and regurgitation it is an experience of how to think and work with team members and the community. If all schools could create this experience our next generation would be so much better off.
cecilia: besttt
Monika Herrmann: Best private school in BC.
PoopScoop: idk I come to this school sooooo it's good enough?
Freddy Huang: Friendly staffs, top school in BC.
Bella Carter: Such an amazing school, so lucky to have been apart of it for the past five years
Cyrus Behroozi: Good quality of education. Somewhat strict with formalities
han ji: Yo
Aaron Bohnen: Definitely the best secondary school experience I've seen. A strong ethos of achievement and compassion infuses the whole organization. Students are energetic, faculty are passionate and parents are supportive. It's a privilege to be part of.

Magee Secondary School: what do users think?
Jake Collins: No one here showers
Jessica Lu: I dont go here, but my commute to UBC passes by this school. A student here stole my AirPods and I went to the principal/vice for help, because I can see the neighbourhood that my AirPods are in. They said they would check the attendance and the address to see if it matches with any students, and we exchanged emails. They never messaged me back. I had proof over several days that a student here stole my AirPod Pros, which were a gift from my parents for university. Now I’ve lost that hundred dollars because the staff couldn’t care enough to help me out. They’re gone and I can no longer track them. This was really my only hope of finding them because I have no data and it’s too hard to manually track them down. There was one student at this school that was kind enough to use their school credentials to log into the wifi for me. Thanks to that person only.
Charlie Richardson: i dont like the cafeteria food , too expensive
Peter Sun: Definitely a good school! Heard many great things about it. Meet some of its graduate students and they are all so nice and work very hard!
Vi “LiVi” Li: Great school for my teens! This is a nice small public high school on the west side, & great for specialty programs such Leaders & Sparks. Great principall - maybe moved soon, vice principal, teachers, and to be retired counsellor. My elder just graduated this year!!! Great graduation celebration!!! 😆
wilson lin: very good location.
Margarita Stoykova: After 5 dog allowed of leash great 👍 multinational neighbourhood

St. George's Senior School: what do users think?
Xi Bi Ci: I've been informed by a fellow classmate that the student who had the most popular review on this school had to take it down due to the Code of Conduct stating that you cannot defame the school. This is ridiculous! Sure, you want a good reputation, but if it means limiting freedom of speech, it sounds like DPRK to me. I don't hate the school, but seeing a student take down his review with fair and valid points just for the reputation of the school sounds so wrong to me. Purely rating based on fairness.
sootchh 1: Year after year the school hold this thing called Saints Fair in May and they would apply to the city to restrict street parking for the ACTUAL RESIDENTS in the nearby streets. Over 10 years ago I almost had my car towed away because I didn't move my car (on West 31st Ave) before 8am. I had to fork over $45 in cash to get the tow truck driver to release my car from its hook, and a week later the city even sent me a separate parking ticket of over $100. Screw them!
Ruihua Yang: Very good.
Ching Chen: Beautiful campus
Ryan McNagny-Valdez: it's neat
James Hopkins: Great school for our son!
Marcus Lai: Very nice Camaraderie at Saints. Everyone is hard working so you’ll find that most of the classmates that you’ll graduate with end up going to top schools like Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Oxford.etc. There’s also a lot of opportunity at Saints such as a wide variety of clubs and sports. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Saints and valued the amazing teachers and friendships I’ve made there. 10/10 would recommend your son going to this school 👍🏻.
Jacky Tang: Good community
APL Restoration: Thank you from APL Restoration Team!
Annabel St. John: The style of making each boy feel valued and important, the method of teaching, the team building, the arts, the sports, the teachers and staff... we can't say enough great things about this school. Highly recommend you consider sending your sons to St. George's.
Shiwo: G.O.A.T.
Mac Reynolds: great education
Noah Merkur: Very good school!!!!!
Steve Sim: The learning experience, the quality of teaching (most teachers are professors), attention to individual students, the facilities, and the availability of extra-curricular activities are far above other schools. However, in an ideal world, private schools would be banned. If children of the rich and powerful were forced to attend local public schools, more attention and budget would be allocated to public schools.
Qiu Jason: super legit
Ethan Wang: Awesome school
Jeffery Lin: nice chairs
James Hou: The school is the greatest school I’ve ever seen before
Jacky Jiang: Very nice and clean school with a big field
jacksonjbd: It sucked.
김영재: 멋있는데

Vancouver Christian School: what do users think?
Yness Boily: Indoctrination at its best.
Henry Wong: good control of traffic
Hadden W: I am writing this on behalf that Jimmy Ma. He says 10/10 would read again. The reviews that is.
Mohammed Diatiwa: Came here from Manicaland Christian in Zimbabwe and at first the school was good. But then things just got worse, like the luke-warm water fountains and the Tiny classrooms and lockers. I don’t recommend it here. 💀💀💀👎
Joe Surachet T.: Great school, committed and caring teachers, academic excellent, discipleship oriented, Christ-centered education.
Mark Peters: The school is incredible for big or small families with caring teachers and a vast family support networkS. We thank the Community and the school come together to invest in the kid's futures.
A Person: Overall, Vancouver Christian School is a sufficient school, fulfilling its claim of a Christ-centered education. Nonetheless, the decline in the high-school department has led me to address various issues that future applicants may want to consider. As a ninth-grade student attending since Kindergarten, the learning environment has evidently changed throughout my time here.A strength of VCS is its smaller class sizes, giving students more opportunities to interact with teachers who display the will to contribute to their success. However, the number of students accepted have drastically increased despite the lack of space inside the building. Rooms such as the rooftop and library commons have been made into classrooms as there is limited space, and the main classrooms are minimal in area, as well. Lockers, as stated by others, are lacking in size, even with the few upgrades that were installed last summer. In short, the student to space ratio is off-balance, taking into account the building size.Furthermore, VCS is extremely restrictive in terms of course selections and external education. If seeking academic challenges, there are little to none, as staying within one’s community is encouraged over acceleration in courses. There is also a lack of variety in courses in comparison to other schools, such as Richmond Christian and Vancouver College. The number of AP courses have slowly lowered, accompanied by heavy restrictions concerning summer school applications. A grade 9/10 honours accelerated program is available, but is the only opportunity for extension above grade level.Rules and regulations at VCS are, in my opinion, questionable, as the strangest rules are enforced, whereas leniency is allowed in more general and important aspects. Community practices are explained, but are not always put into action. In particular, respect is a common issue, as students speak over and disregard both peers and teachers during presentations, lessons, and activities. However, this is not solely the students’ fault, as some teachers show no intention to change such habits. Instead, specific rules that scarcely impact the whole idea of community are enforced, such as dress codes and device infractions. Even these rules are not regulated properly, displaying the leniency VCS gives. Although teachers show substantial grace, it comes to the point where it seems like they do not care enough about respect to both teachers and students.Ultimately, VCS is a school that tries to bring everything to the table, yet is not able to fulfill basic requirements that cultivate a strong community, spiritual growth, and academic skills. With more attention to such aspects, I believe that VCS can become an all-rounder school; for now, it leaves as an unfavourable community that I wish could have been better.
Gia Lee: worst school to play against. horrible sportsmanship. the players just degrade and call the other team slurs and the coaches just sit back and watch.
William Gregary: There are a lot of problems with this school, but I'll start off with the good things. Mr. Reimer is great teacher, everything about him is so inspirational and he has great songs, Ms. Chou is very nerdy, likes to play videogames no one has heard of and has to deal with brats, Miss. Tang likes to joke with us and likes memes, Mrs. Prinsloo likes to give out snacks and host blooket games. Their All the Grade 8 teachers that are really good and some of best teachers I have had, they all really care amd joke about all them way too much, especially Mr. Cavey he's just an absolute legend plus that head shine! Now the problems: They use TV's as glorified clocks which only say the time and weather, they have tiny lockers because the school wanted us to sit on the lockers but were not even allowed to, they don't know how to use their money wisely which is why they need better accountants obviously, they need to plan way more ahead and the major problem, the penalty box, it literally stops from doing any work at school.
Tony Ung: I was a former student at VCS and I can tell you that VCS has a lots of pros and cons. I left the school in 7th grade and went to a public high school for 8th grade and now I am attending an academy in the United States. I can tell you that this school is really really small for a K-12 school. There are only 2 gyms which is not a lot since it is K-12. Lockers are really small could barely fit my backpack and you'd think there'd be a cafeteria but no, no cafeteria. Athletics aren't the best. Athletic field isn't good. Besides that, I can definitely say that the teachers are caring and they will put the time in and effort to help your kid with academics. When I transitioned into public school, I saw a huge difference. In public schools. It is very diverse and you meet a lot of different people good and bad. In VCS it is very Christ Centered which isn't a bad thing but public entering a public is seeing like a whole new world. You'll learn more about the outside world and not just Christianity. You will also interact with a lot more teachers and not just one teacher who teaches all your subjects. If you want your kids in small and Christ Centered school than this is a good school. I could definitely say I was much more happy in a public school. One last thing, I saw a lots kids leave this school in Gr. 7 to attend a public high school.
Nikita Khrushchev: This place is good but u lose 3 stars for not offering a Russian course, a jazz band, and ur wasting money on maintaining trees. Its kinda stupid to "Plant Trees" and then waste money on maintenance, when u can just donate to organisations that support reforestation.edits: Glad to see you have a sense of humour, its been quite sometime since since I laughed like this. I may have confused you when i was referring to trees l. But It is clear you planted quite alot of Thorny plants all around the campus. and it is also clear that these plants Require money to be maintained. Im sure My predecessor had no Intent of doing anything other than Purge all of our people.
sanchez prodoctions: I've been in the VCS community for around a decade now, and it pains me to say how it has only been downhill. I recall how excited everyone was about the new building; however, looking back, even the older one was better. Our lockers are smaller than most backpacks and cant even fit textbooks. We don't have an auditorium, nor a cafeteria (which you would expect from a brand new school). The school only knows how to accept new children without limits, leading to the school bursting from the seams. Small office rooms have had to be turned into classrooms, and a large portion of the lobby has been. Many electives are cancelled because of a lack of classroom space. The library in the old building was much better: it had computer desks and a more extensive library space. I love this school, don't get me wrong, but I wish they would think about their current students rather than accept as many students as they can.
Ezra Duifhuis: Smol lackers and no cafiteria. Forsed to eat in ar classrome.
Star Moonie: Eh it's okay i guess. I'm going to try to make this as short as possible. Cons: Small lockers (My backpack almost doesn't fit) , not allowed to listen to music (like it helps a lot of students focus and calm down, it's like they don't trust us) not allowed to use your own devices for filming smt for school (one time our group had to film something but the chromebooks were lagging and there were no ipads available, so we asked if we could use one of our phones and the teacher said we couldn't because the i.t team said no: trust issues again huh?) the school is very small for a k-12. maybe make another building for elementary or hs?Ok sorry that was kind of long but time for the prosA lot of the staff are really helpful and nice, the library is very organized and neat (the bathrooms too) and I learn new stuff here. I think if the school makes quite some changes it can become a really really nice place.
KONDOR BOY: I go there and teacher are friendly and classmates are nice
Kaden Salleh: Mr.Liu number one. I love the gym here!
YOULLNEVERGUESS: Good school that I have gone to for 8 years now, after going through a lot of changes, and now settling down in a new building after 3 years.=)
Sheryl Le: I tryed to enroll my child here, filled out the application and paid the application fees. I was than emailed and told that all spots are full and that they will not be accepting anymore children and will be returning the fees to those who were not accepted. Well I wasn’t accepted and my fees were never returned. Pretty sure somewhere in the bible it states that “THOU SHALL NOT STEAL”. But hey who’s judging right, I’ll pass on this school and any other school which runs there business like this. Can’t send my kid to a school run by hypocrites.
Shub Adub: Vancouver Christian school is a very nice and welcoming school. The classrooms are okay, sometimes a bit small, the lockers are definitely small, but I don't really mind that, just bring a smaller back pack. The school is okay with all their christian studies, and they welcome people of any culture to study Christianity with them. You can give your opinion pretty freely, and they won't punish you if you don't agree with some parts of Christianity. The school does not respect the students decisions and choices. They put people we want in our class in another class, and people we don't like as much in our class. They make us write a list, too. I understand that they want us to hang out with people we don't get along with, but seriously? They promise us one person that we want in our class, but guess what? we get none of them. This school does not solve conflicts in the best way. Before they gather enough evidence, they jump to accusations, and then the people who haven't done anything wrong get in trouble. The people who blamed others don't get in trouble, and somehow save their face. The thing is, I love this school, and as much as i love it, I want to be able to give it a good review, but I can't when there are many problems.Next, the school's sports program is not good either. All the sports start late into the year and we only get around 1 month of practice before any tournament. The school's main sport is volleyball, but we aren't super good. It also isn't the most popular sport at school. Some sports have many people joining, but we lack resources to train the players. Overall, the sports program is a mess. They also have trouble maintaining the gym floor, and lighting is terrible if your thinking of playing specifically badminton. The thing I love about this school though, is the fact that the kids are nice. The community is great, and friends are easy enough to make. The teachers are overall decent, but there are some problems with solving conflicts. They also have a decent variety of sports, which is good. The community doesn't have many problems. The students don't have any bullying problems, drug problems, or any thing of that sort, so our school is safe. We also try our best to welcome the new kids. It may take a few days, but it'll be alright.I hope you took the time to look at this, and take all of this into consideration. Thank you.
Samuel Zhou: Good school with good staff. You'll really like it here.
coolboy101 2006: No different from a normal public school, only difference I can find is that it cost a lot of money.

Pear Tree Elementary: what do users think?
Vanja: Pear Tree School is a forefront leader in childhood education. Their innovative theme-based methodology coupled with real-life knowledge application sets Pear Tree apart from all other schools in Vancouver. Pear Tree equips students with the skills and confidence to understand the challenges of the world in which they live, recognizing their responsibility towards others, the environment, and themselves.Lead by an exceptional team of Masters prepared teachers, the school offers an outstanding breadth of educational experiences, encourages academic intrigue, and sets the stage for lifelong learning. Enthusiasm for academic endeavor lies at the heart of the school, stimulating students to think deeply and explore ideas beyond the curriculum. Every pupil is encouraged to be curious, creative, critically aware, and to develop their passion and talent to their fullest potential. Pear Tree provides students with an abundance of opportunities to discover, pursue, and develop their skills, talents, and interests while being empowered to flourish and build healthy relationships with others and with the community.Pear Tree has a holistic student approach which ensures every member of the school feels valued, supported and encouraged, and has the confidence and determination to respond to setbacks in a resilient manner. Children are nurtured into confident, outgoing, inquiring, and creative young people. The faculty, students, and parents recognize and celebrate the benefits of having a diverse school community, in which individuals value themselves, one another, and the different contributions that everyone can make in the classroom, our wider neighborhood, and the world. It has been an absolute privilege having my child attend Pear Tree; I recommend the school whole-heartedly to families.
Darrick Boyes: It was a delight to see such a bright, and positive environment. Healthy and happy children excited to learn. I know that we are lucky to have progressive learning schools like this, and it definitely gave me hope for a better way to bring the best out of our children. The staff and the children all smiling and the chef cooking healthy food for the children. This would have been a dream come true when I was a kid.
Bob Li: the chef is a very good chef and he makes good food too
Delaram Norani: We decided to look for a private school after the pandemic hit. First of all, they never disclosed the fact that they have a group three certificate which means they are considered a school that doesn't have follow BC's curriculum. I found out about that after I called the FISA.The co-owner is a very unprofessional person that obviously only cares about money. I sent an email notifying the school that my daughter wouldn't attend PT. Below is his exact response. Very disappointing response from a school that its main goal should be kids' education."Regardless of your decision, the 1st tuition payment of $5,757 is still due at the end of May, as per your contractual agreement. This can be paid by cheque or e-transfer."The principal listens to your concern, but never really takes action as she believes, the school knows what they are doing and we as parents shouldn't interfere in what happens at school.Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would rather send my child to a public school and hire tutors instead of sending my child to an incompetent school like Pear Tree.Below is my husband's review that keeps getting deleted:Positives;this is a small, 50 student school that escaped the distractions of Covid because of its size.the project based learning approach is an interesting way to educate – if executed properlyNegatives; This is a “group three” independent school (link below) that is not obligated to follow BC curriculum or test to it. In fact, they are very reluctant to do any substantive testing to reassure parents that they are educating appropriately. "Trust us" is the operative phrase they use. They are not rated by the Fraser Institute, nor would they want to be we suspect. This is somewhat disingenuous, as Pear Trees marketing material claims that they are a "top Private School" without any effort to substantiate this, and indeed a stated school aversion to ”testing”. In our opinion, the level of education provided is inferior to that of the private school our daughter is now attending. The school facilities are “Spartan”, to say the least.Pear Tree is a tenant in a class C (old), unsecured commercial building and has no gym, no change facilities, no library, no campus, no auditorium, no music rooms, no cafeteria, no computer lab -these would be considered basic amenities for a "Top Private School".There is administrative dysfunction - for both terms, report cards (which provide little in the way of progress information for your child) were provided several days later than promised, and for term 1 were lacking in any mention of term progress – in their words, the school needed to “remedy the oversight" with a revised report some days later still. The particular teacher for grades 5-7 we unfortunately rate as poor to mediocre based on our parent teacher meets, feedback from our daughter, and feedback from other parents. In addition, she was absent from class for in excess of a month of school, and the school was not capable of providing a suitable substitute replacement. We believe teacher quality is THE critical factor in education quality. When we communicated our specific concerns with the principal, she informed us that she was in a much better position to evaluate the quality of her staff as a "professional educator" and defensively and summarily dismissed our concerns. Conclusion; We decided to move our child to St. Johns, as did other parents, as she faced two more years with this teacher and an unresponsive school which sees fit to charge top dollar for a poor to mediocre educational experience.
Dylan D: Not recommended-there are many good reasons to have your child attend a private school in BC including seeking a superior education and facilities. And if you are paying $15-26,000 in tuition, you should, at a minimum, expect these benefits.Unfortunately, Pear Tree can only offer a hot lunch.
Zahra Hudani: We love Pear Tree. It truly has a community feel. We appreciate the regular communication channels available to us as parents and feel informed throughout the year. They are also really responsive to any concerns or feedback which is important for us as parents. The group of staff are wonderful, very smart and kind, and focused on each individual students’ needs. They have built an inclusive environment and their project-based learning approach is practical and impactful. Our daughter has grown so much, both socially and academically, since being there. We also love their focus on being active and healthy. Our daughter absolutely loves the healthy hot lunch program and it takes a huge load off us as parents with meal preparation. They have PE everyday and some fun programs too like skating, yoga and gymnastics. We highly recommend Pear Tree!
Kate Chase: Pear Tree has been a wonderful experience for our daughter. In terms of academics, the project based learning approach is implemented with an enormous amount of planning and thought, and it shows in the high quality of the children's work! Pear Tree kids are learning to think deeply and critically about the big issues of our day.Socially, Pear Tree is a warm, welcoming environment and teachers are focused on fostering positive relationships and an understanding of diversity. We feel so lucky as a family to have discovered Pear Tree, and are excited to see what high school brings!
Irina Mackay: If you are looking for a school that fosters children's love for learning and helps them grow as confident, responsible and kind people then look no further! Our son started attending Pear Tree in Kindergarten and is now finishing Grade 1. He started off as shy and introverted and has since blossomed with confidence and is a lot more comfortable with public speaking and interpersonal relations. The reading and math skills acquired at Pear Tree surpass those of many other kids his age. We believe that this is due to Pear Tree's approach to education through project based learning which keeps students engaged and allows to apply their skills to real life concepts. Our son is always coming home excited about the themes explored at school and has developed a love for learning at Pear Tree. One of the other amazing things about this school is that they have an in house kitchen and chef and serve daily fresh meals and snacks to the students! Our son used to be very picky when it came to eating but since attending Pear Tree he is a lot more open minded to trying a variety of foods. As parents this is also very convenient for us since we don't have to worry about packing a lunch or snacks and we know that he is eating healthy and fresh food while at school. All teachers and staff are amazing educators and really care about students as individuals. The communication is excellent and we are always updated about our son's daily activities through the Fresh Grade app.The school also places a strong emphasis on physical education, with daily PE time and different activities such as yoga, gymnastics as even parkour! Our middle son is joining Pear Tree next year and we will be also sending our daughter to this school when it comes time for her to join kindergarten. We are delighted to have found this amazing community and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this school as an overall excellent choice for both academic and personal growth.
Sandrine Espie: Our son joined PearTree last year. He is now in grade 3, and our decision to change school for PearTree was the best decision for his socio-emotional and intellectual development. Pear Tree offers project-based learning opportunities. Kids develop various hands-on experiences as well as creative, artistic, engaging, collaborative, and fun projects. The small classes and combined grades enhance leadership and a sense of cooperation and peer support between students. The themes that students worked on every semester address some of the most pressing issues that this generation will need to understand, i.e. exploring their natural environment by going on various field trips to study birds, bees, weather and landforms.Pear Tree curriculum includes daily PE, music classes, french (all the teachers are bright, responsive and engaging). The school has a fantastic chef who cooks hot lunch on site (which exposes students to different flavours, textures, cultures etc.). PearTree's learning environment is challenging (in a positive way), supportive, vibrant, creative. I've seen my child flourish, and I know he will thrive this year thanks to the dedicated, experienced, and professional staff.
Crystal Ehresman: Pear Tree is the best option in the city for busy parents. Their curriculum is well-rounded in arts and athletics which really takes the pressure off from finding extracurricular activities. The days are extended compared to public schools, and there is a before and/or after-school care option. This was a huge relief to me because my schedule requires flexibility. I love not having to pack lunches or provide snacks. The in-school chef saves me the time and mental energy that comes with meal prep and I can count on nutritious snacks and lunches. Most importantly, the faculty, staff and students are wonderful people, and I know my daughter is well-cared for.
Penny Chuang: Our daughter attended Pear Tree Elementary since kindergarten. Their project-based learning really showed a different approach compared to traditional education. The teachers, the staff, and the kids work collectively and really make up a warm and welcoming environment. Pear Tree does not just focus on academic results, but rather shaping our kid to be growing in all aspects of life, into becoming a better part of the community. In addition, their hot lunch program provides healthy and various choices everyday, shout out to chef Borja! We are more than satisfied of what our daughter has been able to achieve and learn here. Our second daughter will be graduating pre-school next year, and needless to say, Pear Tree is our one and only choice for her as well!
Ryusei Koyama: I was a student at pear tree, and this school was the best school I ever went in my life! The cook’s food is really healthy AND good!
Luna G: Pear tree elementary is a small but exceptional school in Vancouver. My son could adjust well thanks to their careful attention and full support when we moved to this new city. My son loves Pear Tree’s tailored approach to teaching and learning. He’s learning how to learn in PTE. In particular, I like this about the school. PTE offers a variety of activities and special classes, so children can have diverse experiences. One more thing I must tell you is the best teachers with passion and professionalism. I highly recommend PTE.
Cailin Broere: We recently moved to Vancouver from Hong Kong where our daughter attended a top international school. We really wanted to keep her level of learning consistent with what she had experienced in HK and hoped to find a school that shared our values and also provided a diverse and global outlook. We found Pear Tree in our search and have been truly impressed.Pear Tree is a small school but its founders are committed to educating the whole child. Social, emotional and dietary health are all considered and nurtured on a daily basis. The PE program and outdoor learning opportunities are fantastic. Borja, the school chef, ensures that my daughter is eating healthy, hot meals and saves me so much time and stress during the week. Picking up my daughter from school and having her excitedly show me the perfect seashell that she found on her morning trip to the beach is really just one of the many aspects that make Pear Tree so special. If you are familiar with the PYP curriculum and its values and principles, I really encourage you to consider Pear Tree in your search. Innovative, enquiry-based learning is alive and well here.
Ryan Liu: Pear Tree is an excellent elementary school. Even though, the school is small but it's packed with everything your children need to know. Their directors and teachers are very friendly. Their staff knows every single child's name. I can see that all the students are having fun learning at school.
Lynn Wang: We went to the school when my son was 3 and we really impressed the education environment. Although the school is small and located in an office building, the kids still have plenty of space here and there. what we like the best is the school using most updated social events as study case and make us feel like our son is communicating with the society. very good school and very nice teachers.
Qin Luo: It is the best school for us, our oldest child studies in community 3 and she likes everything in this place ,and we hope our second child and youngest child could study at Peartree in near future!
Qin Zhang: Fantastic! It has a very friendly and respectful environment, my daughter Eva started at Peartree in September 2018, she was very shy and speak a little English at that time, but now she is very confident and enjoy everyday in Peartree, moreover she loves every Peartree's staff and students!By the way, Louisa Chen is really amazing!
Line Aune: What an inspiring place Pear Tree is! Our daughter started at Pear Tree Elementary last fall after loosing motivation at her previous school. After just a short while, after school starting, she started to love school again and she doesn't even want to leave at pick-up time.My daughter enjoys being in a class with other grades, where it is most important to excel on your own level. All students are closely followed up by their enthusiastic teacher. The teacher continuously keeps the students eager to learn by using different tools ; visual, arts and crafts, field trips and new technology, as well as using interesting themes as background. And how cool isn't it to have snake or salmon eggs hatching in the classroom? We also love that the school focuses on nutritious food and physical education every day (during last half year they have had martial arts, skating, yoga, climbing, dance class and a lot of different activities outside with Mr M)!All the above makes an excellent foundation for our child and I strongly recommend the school.
Neda Shahbandian: Today I went to this school for privet tour , after half an hour delay its manager (Paul) was coming he behaved completely impolite toward us, without any sorry for delay. He didn't show us anythings and just asked "what is your question?" when I asked my question he said :"there are all answers in their website". On the other hand this school is so bad and really small like a small daycare , I never will register my daughter in horrible school.
Ivy Irem Dreger: Our daughter started Pear Tree in September (Grade 2). After 3 years in a very elite and popular co-educational private school, we wanted something less traditional and more creative and innovative for her. She was getting bored and losing her creative spark. Even though she had no academic or emotional issues, she wasn’t very happy and wanted to be challenged.Pear Tree is a breath of fresh air for her because she gets to create new things daily and there is no time for boredom. She gets so much attention thanks to the small class size. Lessons are always connected to real life and incorporate so many different subjects. Project based learning is very beneficial for sparking creativity and mimicking real life work environment. Kids need to work in groups frequently and complete tasks together in a timely manner. All work is always completed and accounted for. You don’t end up with piles of half completed work at the end of the term. Kids are always out and about and go to so many educational and fun field trips. The PE and music programs are amazing. Thanks to her encouraging PE teacher, she participated at a cross country race even though running is not her forte. After only one term she already plays songs with her ukulele! The hot food program is amazing. Their chef prepares everything from scratch and makes very creative, healthy dishes. No more packing lunches and worrying about her veggie consumption!Pear Tree is a very special school. It might look small from outside, but somehow manages to fit a much bigger and more creative world into its space compared to a lot of schools with elaborate campuses. Paul and Alexis put so much effort into creating an outstanding education experience for all. They hire top notch teachers and staff that are so dedicated to their craft. Pear Tree is what 21st century education should be.Our daughter loves her school and never wants to miss a day. We feel so fortunate to be a part of Pear Tree family.

Well maintained for a high school. Inclusive and supportive environment. Just a nice place with nice people, feel lucky to have gone here
Md Zeeshan Parvaiz Mansoori: From which class to which class this school is??
Karen Gerbrecht: My son loves his time at Lord Byng. He's in the Arts Mini. Some of the teachers, notably Ms.Sheppet in the math department, are EXCELLENT. Some teachers are a little disappointing, though I suppose that is the case at many schools. Certainly none of the teachers my son has had have been any less than competent and many have been superb. We feel that the vast majority of the instructors and admin staff care deeply about the students. The trips and extra curricular activities are great, as are the many school clubs. The Arts mini schools are carefully run, and the kids are enthusiastic and well supported.
