Nourish Cooking School: what do users think?
T K: Had a wonderful time with Dan for his Ottolenghi Effect class. He's full of great little tips in the kitchen and has lots of laughs. You can tell he loves what he does. Looking forward to trying the recipes myself. Will definitely go back to try another course sometime.
Kevan Ramsden: I’ve been to two cooking classes with Nourish (Italian and French) and they were both lots of fun. Dan is a great teacher and you will learn some amazing recipes. Makes a perfect gift!
Tim Schofield: My daughter and I joined Nourish for the Japanese theme making gyoza, temaki, ramen and gomae e.Dan is a wonderful teacher, engaging and entertaining to all ages whilst remaining on point. We had a great time, enjoyed the food and are excited to cook these dishes at home. We will be back for more!
Todd Titera: We had a cooking class with our customers. Dan hosted a fantastic night that allowed great conversation between us and our customer while making some fun food and learning new techniques.
Janice Young: We enjoyed our first cooking class with Nourish so much we booked our staff holiday party at Nourish again. We had such a great time creating our Italian feast! Booking for our group was a breeze, Anisha was quick to respond to our inquiries prior to the event. Dan and his team created a lively and fun experience the day of. If you're interested in hands on cooking in a great environment, look no further!
Sean Curran: We recently had a company party held at Nourish. A great environment for our group of 12 and the cooking class of Italian Rustic was fantastic.Chef Dan was casual, engaging, informative and entertaining. It was like cooking in your home or at a dinner party. Dan's teaching approach was fun and we learned quite a bit about gnocchi and dough making! Can't say enough about the experience, the food and drink selection, and the overall enjoyment of the evening. Will come back again....
Kiran Brar: My friends and I had a blast doing their Italian Rustic class for my birthday. Great instructor, great food, and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend Nourish to anyone looking for an evening full of food, learning, and laughs.
J N: I went with my boyfriend to celebrate our 6th anniversary date. We wanted to try something interactive and engaging as opposed to eating dinner in a sit down restaurant. After some research, we came across Nourish Cooking School and we weren’t disappointed. We have previously visited The Dirty Apron and although it was a great time, we found our experience at Nourish to be more engaging and interactive. Dan does a fantastic job of engaging his students, incorporating humour and keeping it educational. We learned about knife skills and various home cooking techniques which made it very practical. Dan definitely prides his class on simple but delicious recipes that his students can replicate at home.Overall, I would highly recommend taking a class with Dan at Nourish Cooking School. We will definitely be back to try another class!P.S. we took the Rustic Italian cooking class and for people who have never really made pizza or gnocchi from scratch... I think we did a pretty good job! 🙈
SC Peter PANG: Attended a food prep class here and enjoyed it very much. Dan and his team was very knowledgeable about the topic, and are humorous too! It is a cozy place with a warm atmosphere. It was a great night indeed!
Jigme Love: Excellent experience!
Sean Bennett: Had a great experience here for a corporate team builder. Very engaging instructor who made everyone feel welcome and included. Food was great.
Kevin Hehr: Excellent cooking school and environment. It is a good place to learn new cooking styles that are practical and sustainable. Dan is a fantastic host!
parveen grewal: Had our company team building. My group had a very pleasant evening. The food we made was delicious. I would definitely recommend it for those looking for a team building event or even a fun thing to do with friends..the overall environment of the cafe and more specifically the cooking school was incredibly welcoming and fun! Couldn't say enough good things about Nourish. I highly Strongly recommend!1
Jennifer Ashby: My son attended the spring break kids cooking camp with theme days Italy/ Canada/ Japan/ China & France. He had a lot of fun learning to cook new foods, and his favourites are pizza, sushi, baos and the apple tart. He liked how sometimes you cook on your own and sometimes you cook in small groups, as well as sitting down after and eating with the rest of the children. He has already tried to make the items again at home and would like to sign up for another camp! As a parent, I love the interest he has in making his own foods and look forward to more help in the kitchen on a daily basis : ). I myself took the Contemporary Chinese class a few years ago with a small group of friends. The space is beautiful, staff welcoming & friendly and food was very tasty, fresh and filling.
Arnel Gabriel: Dan and his staff at Nourish are absolutely awesome! From our initial inquiry to booking our private session, Nourish was helpful with answering our questions which made it an easy choice for us to go with them. Dan was extremely accommodating when it came to meeting the needs of our group, and was happy to work with us to make sure we had everything we needed for the event. The staff’s energy and lightheartedness made for a positive experience for everyone in our group.12/10 would happily book another class with Nourish!
Lindsay Barnett: I won two spots at a cooking class at Nourish and was delighted upon arrival to find a beautifully decorated space, and to be welcomed by host and owner Dan. Dan has a great personality for creating an excellent group atmosphere, even among strangers. The class was a pizza making class, and while simple, the quality of the ingredients was fantastic, and the recipes were delicious and easy to replicate. I was particularly pleased that all of the learnings were actually applicable at a regular home without a ton of kitchen space or fancy equipment. Another huge bonus is that it didn't feel "salesy" as I've previously experienced at other cooking classes. Quality drinks were available, and I especially appreciated the beautiful nametags that were reusable for each class! Kudos Dan and team!
Krista Page: Had our team day yesterday and made the ramen and veggie gyoza. As you can see by my choice of stars, it was phenomenal. We all work with youth who are in care and this was just what we needed. Good food, lots of laughs and some drinks! Dan and his helpers (sorry can't remember their names) were awesome. I even ate some mushrooms (I hate mushrooms) and it actually tasted good. So extra points for that. This was a great day and thank you so much everyone at Nourish.
Genie C: A group of 10 of us went to nourish for my friends stagette to learn how to cook a Mediterranean dish. We all had a great time and the food was delicious. We took away a lot of good skills on how to prepare and cut certain foods. They have a nice area to sit down and eat what you just cooked after. It was also a great space to take gorgeous pictures of the food you just cooked. Would highly recommend this place!!
Liz Moxham: French cooking class with my 18 year old daughter - objectives: mom and daughter time, and some cooking skills, too. Awesome.
M Nguyen: ShawOpen wifi availableCame here for a bachelorette, Dan and his staff are super pleasant and knowledgeableNice homey feel, everything you use, appliances wise, you probably have at homeThe class is very interactive and a great date idea or something to do with friendsIt was a great experience and I would highly recommend!
Stephanie Soebagio: My husband and I attended the Ramen Revolution class and had a great time! Our instructor Dan was entertaining and shared lots of tips and techniques. The class itself was well organized, and the food was tasty and healthy. A great activity for couples, singles, friends, or a work group.

Little Kitchen Academy: what do users think?
Youjung Youn: Hanna yang loved this place for cooking and chefs. All menus were very interesting but it was a little hard to eat for her because most of dish were made of veggies. She just enjoyed her cooking skill and her own station :) thanks
Joanne Burns Millar: Such an incredible space for kids to feel empowered, capable and seen. Little Kitchen Academy is more than a cooking school. It’s a school of life for our little people! I love everything about LKA! Thank you for everything you put into it to maximize what our kids get out of it!
Madeleine Kipling: My 6 yo son has adhd and has had difficulty in other group activities following instruction and staying on task. He thrived in this environment because all the kids have their own private stations and must follow the specific steps and do them all by themselves. He was very proud of each creation he made, explaining how he chopped the ingredients, sautéed them in his own pan, baked things in the oven etc. he even handled food he hates and ate food he refuses to eat at home. He’s begging me to go back as soon as possible. Great experience.
Bed4ord&Co: LKA is nothing short of mind blowing when it comes to an experiential and enriching education for kids and teens. If you have the opportunity to share this with a young person in your life - JUST DO IT. The impact will fill you with joy and the student with confidence, independence and knowledge that will truly change their lives from scratch.
Lil Ronalds: My daughter had the BEST time at Little Kitchen Academy. She was a little nervous to go on her own, but they had her at "cinnamon buns"! She gained so much confidence and was very proud to make her very own dessert. She had so much fun, and the teachers were fantastic. Highly recommend!
Gillian Theodosia: Great place for the kids to learn about cooking baking and kitchen preparation. My daughter had so much fun in the class for Pro D day and really proud of her self-made food. Ingredients are fresh and high quality, kitchen space is modern and clean. We will go back for baking session next time :)
Katherine Tam: My son has been attending LKA for a few years now. We used to drive him all the way from the tri-cities to attend class, now it's much easier to go since being back in Vancouver. This is one activity which he really loves due to the hands-on approach, he really enjoys the whole process and always comes home with some tasty creations!
Manica Blain: Ok so Mike (my 3-year old) just had an amazing time at LKA ... so much so that I have never written a review for any of his extra-curricular activities, but felt compelled to share his experience! He was joined in the class by two of his classmates from his daycare, as the daycare was closed that day - the 3 of them had a blast and I can tell he just reveled in the independence. We are definitely hooked and I will be coming at least biweekly for a drop in - his entire mood for the rest of the day was different too - and in a good way. He enjoyed telling our family later that evening during our weekly Friday pizza night about using the mixer and the various utensils and how to be safe. So so so cute. And amazing. LKA - you're all onto something.
Vivy: My 7 year old daughter loves LKA. She has attended summer and winter break camps, weekly sessions and most recently, a Pro-D Day camp over the past 3 years and comes home excited to share her positive experience with the chef-instructors as well as the skills she learned. She is also very proud to share the delicious food she has made. We’ll definitely be back!
Alice Ao: Very professional and my daughter like it!
Chana Davis: My pre-teen son had a great time at LKA cooking class. It's motivated him to pitch in at home which is much appreciated!
Ísis Menezes de Albuquerque: It was an awesome experience for all of our family. Our daughter loved the class, told us the steps and was really excited to work like a chef. Now, every meal we make we have an assistant, or may I say, a chef? Thanks for letting them experience this in a real kitchen, respecting there time and interests.
Ying Liu: My daughter has been having lots of fun AND LEARNED a lot about cooking at Little Kitchen Point Grey ! She has been taking cooking lessons there for almost 2 years now. Great Instructors, no doubt! they are teaching kids basic techniques and even the proper cleaning and tidy-up routines after the cooking! AMAZING! Our whole family have been enjoying the yummy food our daughter brought home every weekend!
Dragana Vasic: It is such a great learning and fun experience for kids and teenagers. The kitchen is spacious, new and modern. The recepies are amazing, and the ingredients are high quality. The staff teaches life skills and economics. The children's hard work results in the delicious examples of coolinary arts. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to the dietary restrictions as well.
Alex Level: My son loved Little Kitchen Academy! I would definitely recommend it. Not only did he have fun but he was always very excited and proud to show us what they prepared. The experience gave him a lot of confidence.
Katherine McAusland: Fri night is a grt night of cooking at Little Kitchen Academy! I love to chill, talk and sit down to eat my creations at the end of the session
Yinchun Ji: it is an incredible journey that my daughter loves so much.
Brittany Hopkins: My 3yo loves the drop-in classes at LKA. She often asks to go back.
Heidi Hirano: It's a magical place for kids, with healthy meals made with care and respect. We could taste their food after the class was over, and it was delicious. My child asked me to go back on the following day!
Stephanie Devlin: My son loved his first class! He made spiced pear and chai oatmeal and wanted to eat it over chicken strips at a restaurant. Happy mama here :)
Samantha Rivera: I really enjoy the space and the service, and most important my kids LOVED IT :) Thank you

Northwest Culinary Academy Of Vancouver: what do users think?
Thomas Matthey: First time participating in a course at the Northwest Culinary. The best course I have done in years.
Sara D: We did the Sushi class with Chef Tarek, it was a lot of fun and we all felt it was great value for money. They even gave us all goodie bags at the end with Poke Bowl ingredients. Will definitely come back in future!
Amee Barber: We went to the one night wonder event for pad Thai. It was so much fun and great tips you’d never figure out on your own. Five stars for sure and I’ll be back!
V B: Highly recommend this place. My partner and I started with the lasagna class, then the risotto class and we just signed up for the bread making series.Couldn’t recommend this place more !!
Stella Ammendolia: The course exceeded my expectations. The teachers wereprofessional, well informed and had a down to earth wayof explaining the lesson. I would recommend this courseto all levels of cooks. The proof is in the pudding...as soon as I arrived home, (I flew infrom Ontario), I went to my garage and fished out my very largecutting board. It now has a place on my counter. Also, for the first time ever, I am using my pastry scraper.Thank you for a memorable course.
Kristian Kletke: Had a great experience with Fundamentals 1. The instructors were friendly and knowledgeable, not teaching you to just read a recipe, but to understand it, and the facility was clean and well prepped. Nice wine pairings too!
Mark Glimm: Just finished a one night lasagna class here, and it was just great. The instructors are knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The facility has I think 8 big gas ranges, with lots of other stuff, and there's a two table dining/lecture area with big screens to see the tutorials. Loved it. Thanks Tony and Jonathan!
Siavash E: .Highest ratio of instructors to studentsHighest ratio of cooking stations to studentsHighest spenders on ingredients and equipmentsNorthwest is not a school, its a passion project. This state of the art food laboratory is run by a team of chefs who are all owners - better described as family rather than co-workers. They'll take you in as one of their own, equip you with the most up-to-date culinary skills and knowledge, and give you unlimited support even after graduation. They are, however, selective in their admission process. You will need a lot of enthusiasm and a bit of luck. I wish you both!
Noya Madadi: I had an incredible experience taking the Enthusiast Level 1 course. Every day was packed with valuable information that are very relevant to everyday cooking including ingredient quality selection & all the reasons behind it. They teach you how to use your senses so you’re not reliant on a recipe or if you are looking to a recipe for inspiration, how to easily adjust things based on your touch or what you have available in your pantry. Every dish was delicious & very repeatable. Tony, our main instructor was very informative as well as the other chefs & instructors. I am already dying to take the next Level 2 course. My partner was so impressed with all the knowledge & relevant information I brought back home. Thank you so much for creating such a fun program. Cooking has never been so fun & stress-free. I highly recommend this course.
Alexandro Rubio: Great place to learn, only took the Basics 1 & 2 courses so far, since I cook for fun, but this place has made me think twice about my career choices, maybe I should have become a Chef! Instructor chefs are polite and knowledgeable, feels like you are cooking with friends and learning is nice and easy.
Janine Kreil: Could not recommend North West Culinary school enough! No matter your skill level, I can guarantee you will learn here from these wonderful people. I have taken 2 enthusiast classes now and I plan to take a whole lot more in the future!
J V: Took the 2 week boot camp as a proficient home cook and left with a new level of understanding for techniques and ingredients that I had never used before. The chefs were all great teachers and always there for questions and to help you succeed. The pace of the program gradually increased as we became more proficient and comfortable in our environment. The 2 weeks went by like a blur but with lots of practice after, I'm sure the techniques will slowly become second nature. Great way for home cooks to level up their game!
Banny Sohal: I would recommend the basic 1 course to everyone. The chefs are thoughtful and engaging and will teach you something no matter you’re level of cooking. The facilities are top notch. Overall great experience. Will definitely try some more courses!
Dayane L.: Amazing experience! My bf got us a couple cooking class this week - Phad Thai food! It so much fun and we learn how to make our favourite dish! The chef and his team were very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming! Their kitchen is unreal! Very clean and well equipped. We’ll definitely go back soon!😍 highly recommend them! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Andrew: I took the Basics I: Flagship Fundamentals Course just recently to improve on my home cooking skills and to learn its discipline. I've been cooking by following recipes but this course has certainly opened up my eyes with a fresh look, i.e., by putting on a new "Reading Lens". I've also learned the art of flow in the kitchen with Mise en Place. Each Chef instructor brought to the classes their insights, techniques, personal experiences, and how to "Think like a Chef." There were times during the classes I have those light-bulb moments at either during the class or at the kitchen station. Yesterday was my birthday, and I wanted to share what I've learned. I couldn't believe that I was able to cook 10 dishes - first time ever - out from the four day class lessons for a family meal. And the verdict from family - "...every dish was delicious... and that it was a melody of food." I was inspired and I can't wait to begin with the Culinary Basics II: Next level of courage + creativity. Thank you Chefs, and thank you NWCA...
Anthony G.: Thank you for an inspiring lesson! Learned and ate a lot :p
Jim Grant: Really great Basics course with an opportunity to make and learn from meals we made and actually learn a lot of the ‘why’s’ of what you’re doing, rather than just following a recipe. Really enjoyed a lot of the tricks and discussions around things like different salts, and what’s so good about olive oil.
Xiao Yu: Took the fundamentals 101 in-person class here, had a great time. Atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting. Chef and staff were very helpful and provided a comfortable space for all the students to work in. Great kitchen to work in and quality products. I have been cooking at home for some time but I think any level can benefit from this course. Look forward to taking more courses in the future.
Sonya Szoczei: Great classes! Covid distance friendly
A. Owens: The 2-Week Plant Based Bootcamp was excellent! Everyone was so friendly, knowledgeable + most importantly, approachable. The class was taught in a cohesive + professional manner, + yet it was still fun + lighthearted. I definitely recommend anyone who is considered taking a class and / or course here to do so.
Chanel Warshafsky: I came to Northwest Culinary Academy as a home cook, looking to advance my skills and make a career change. Northwest exceeded my expectations in every way possible and without a doubt, participating in the professional culinary and pastry program this past year, was the best year of my life. The instructors all made an incredibly positive impact and I am thankful for the newfound confidence I have gained as a result, both in cooking at home, and now working in the field. The entire team at Northwest is extremely supportive and encouraging, they care deeply about every student's journey, interests and are truly dedicated to help students navigate their first steps when entering into the field and continued mentorship throughout one's career. The curriculum and environment is one of a kind, you will truly have the opportunity to dive into your learning, hone your skills and discover a deeper appreciation for your love of cooking, and forever be inspired to follow your dreams!

Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts: what do users think?
Valerie Farnsworth: We did a fun and insightful cooking class of Japanese cuisine.Wonderful teacher and student helpers , great recipes that I WILL repeat at home
jen h: I have been fortunate enough to have two events held here for clients. This is a very unique and great team building exercise as one of the events they offer is an iron chef challenge. The basis of this activity is that you are put into teams and tasked with the difficult and creative job of cooking a appetizer and entrée using a secret ingredient that has to be incorporated in both dishes. They hosted our clients professionally and with care which was much appreciated. The experience can come in at a little bit high of a price however, it has been a very successful event and our clients seemed to love it (which is the main goal!). You have to cook for one hour and have access to the kitchen and ingredients and can talk with some of the students that are there as well. It feels very high pressure and depending how you cook or eat it could be either very creative or a little bit overwhelming but it’s all in good fun. After that, the head chef tries out all the dishes and scores everyone. Don’t fret, you do not have to only eat your concoctions after the cooking challenge. You are then presented with a three course meal done by the students. One thing I do wish they offered was perhaps a Feedback card (I understand this is difficult for a client event but could be coordinated to the organizer). The dishes we got for good, the portions were a bit small and some of the dishes were a bit over salted in my opinion but overall it was a great meal and event. There is limited parking and just have to register your car with the business beforehand, otherwise be prepared to get towed.
Joseph Harasymko: Brilliant school. Very welcoming and knowledgeable about all aspects of the culinary arts.
Marc Bellera: They have a pleasant space with good views. The pastries and snacks are really good. The reason for the low punctuation is unfortunately due to the poor quality of the coffee and the lack of preparation as baristas and fortiori in a city where the competition of coffee shops and their quality is very high. Unfortunately, bad coffee definitely ruins a good meal.
Cindi Jones: We were there for a group event and did an Iron Chef challenge. It was a great experience so much fun. And, the we enjoyed a lovely meal prepared for us by the chef. Great team building event!
G I: Used to stop by every time to buy their delicious danish, croissants etc. Lately the are smaller than they use to be. They are almost half of what they used to be. When i asked to talk to the new baker , i was told the size it is the same.We are regulars and we know what size the pastries were.Anyways, time to look for another bakery.
J F: Amazing. Love this place. Best bakery, great customer service, and relaxing environment.
William Johnson: Good classes, but absolutely terrible customer service and student communication.
Martin Merrigold: Always interesting when a place transfers to new ownership. Prices up, quality is somewhat the same but evm that has taken a hit. Too bad it was a bit of a gem. Long term staff are still great!
Richard Felske: Blue Hat Bistro is great for coffee and pastries with a view of the marina and seawall at the entrance to Granville Island.
Asif Asad Jan: It was a great visiting there.
By my reckoning: I’m an international student who graduated from here, this place was my safe space tbh, at first when I was trying to find Culinary school this is the one who always got the good reviews which I don’t know why, now I know!!! Everything here is so blessing, all chef instructors and my friends are amazing. I don’t wanna say this but I don’t wanna graduate and still stay in this school PS. As the international student, it’s hard at first to adjust but when you do you will love it!!!
Me Mehl: Nice place to find something tasty and a good cup of coffee served however you like it.
Brooklyn PA: We ordered Easter dinner. They accommodated us as a high risk family. They accommodated curbside and were so friendly via email and phone.Team was amazing 👏 Food was great.
Kawa Rammo: Amazing aria
Felicity Shaw: My partner and I took the laminated dough class on Saturday. The class was taught by an incredibly passionate and talented chef / instructor named Christian who's enthusiasm for pastry was infectious. We cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back for more classes
MANBIR RANDHAWA: If anyone out there wants to be a chef, baker or anything in the field of food cooking please do yourself a good favour and invest your money in this school.Since 1997, the school has graduated many wonderful talented students who not only learned from the high quality teachers but also learn to survive in the competitive hospitality field. The school is not just a school but also a full fledged restaurant and cafe overlooking the ships, yachts and boats parked from its big glass window. What a view and so I didn’t miss a chance to grab a coffee with yummy in house baked goodies.Lets talk about the school itself. Massive kitchens/classrooms, small size classrooms , student study room with apple macbook desktops and full fledge change rooms are just some of the features. Very spacious and clean especially during covid time. All precautions and safety measurements are taken before you go further from reception. Friendly staff and career advisors are very knowledgeable and helpful. Check in with “seane “ the admission guy for all ur program related queries.
H: Do not try and get help through their website, they won’t get back to you. Pre covid.
Mali DS: Very cool spot, with great views and lots of space. I love how organized and clean everything looked like. They have a good choice of desserts and bread.I only had a coffee, bit I will definitely come back.
Bailey: Definitely one of my fave spots for lunch in the area. Fresh food & ingredients, great prices and wonderful staff.
Purple Chainz: Was a pleasant experience

The Dirty Apron Cooking School, Delicatessen & Catering: what do users think?
Claus Laundrup: YVR Gate C - Huevos Ranchero breakfast wrap. Hot and very delicious. The only thing it was missing was some hot sauce. They could have had a spicy ranchero sauce on the side for those that like their Huevos with a little kick. A negatives go, it's a super small thing BUT it did cost that one star. Overall very good and would eat here again.
John Bragg: The prices are absolutely outrageous!!! $20 for a very average chicken wrap? For the low amount of chicken I suspect the food cost (the measure of value for me) is about 17%. That is a ripoff and egregious. Avoid at all cost.
Roy Wilson (Pup Bigbad): Great experience. Forgot all of the recipes behind though. Maybe the server could remind everyone during dessert to get your recipes before leaving. Load of fun.
Michaela Paterová: Great coffee and food!
Anabelle Mirfatahi: We had a wonderful time at the vegan cooking class. Our chef was lovely and every dish was divine! Would definitely go again and highly recommend to anyone interested in taking a fun cooking class.
Anita Tiernan: Was excited to find this place at YVR domestic terminal. My sandwich was $18.50 and orange juice $12!! I put the orange juice back. The bread was so chewy. What a disappointment. Sorry guys but not good.
Karen: Amazing unique sandwiches and London Fog. Flavours are perfectly balanced , savoury, tangy, sweet umami. 😋😋😋😋 Interior is very chill and comfortable to sit.I come here all the time to grab lunch, their food is awesome 100% of the time — very consistent taste and quality.
Vicki Wenman: it was a wonderful experience. I went solo and felt at home with others. the Chef was knowledgeable and super friendly. I highly recommend this cooking class. the food was great, instructions easy to follow and relaxed atmosphere.
Nicholas Hermansen: 6am in the morning with a line up 40m long and they have 1 staff working. If there was literally anywhere else to go I would. Great job in staffing…..not!
Puja Raniga: When you hear the name Dirty Apron you think it's going to be a great experience. As someone who enjoys cooking I can say, this was not the case. Overpriced, Overhyped, you can't even support local without the owner wanting to not admit to being wrong when you try to explain why you didn't enjoy the experience. What a horrible practice. Also, who serves sparkling apple juice? Is it that hard to buy a soda stream?
Michelle Caven: I took the Valentines virtual cooking class last night 6-8pm. Chef was wonderful! Good pace, personal, fun…seafood chorizo paella was incredible, sticky toffee pudding yummy and manchego cheese/Iberian ham appy welcomed! I picked up my box of ingredients the day of and everything was premeasured and soooo fresh!
Patricia Sagert: Amazing experience, great ambiance, fabulous ingredients and easy to do. Overall incredible!
Henry Duffy: Tasty vegetarian breakfast wrap and a nice coffee, great ambience too although I wouldnt have chosen quite so many Killers songs in a row.....
Tomas Koronczi: We had a staff party at The Dirty Apron. Great atmosphere, a nice kitchen setup and friendly staff. We truly enjoyed the event! Highly recommended. Thanks for the great event! Tomas and the EVS Nespresso Professional team.
Jane Mcmahon: We enjoyed a family outing at the Dirty Apron with Chef Carol Chow sharing her expertise in an entertaining and informative manner. We were certainly - winner winners at the chicken dinners! Thank you and highly recommended.
Marie Gleason: Fantastic, delicious & fun! 😋
alejandra lopez: Súper amable el personal, la comida deliciosa, muy bonito el lugar, sin duda, un lugar muy recomendable
Sahar F: Have organized multiple private client events over the years at Dirty Apron and they are beyond exceptional. They make the process of hosting an event super easy, offer high quality produce/poultry, staff are extremely professional and the instructors deliver a fun yet educational experience!Who can not love cooking when all your ingredients are measured, cleaned and cut? 🤷🏻‍♀️
Ghazal: A friend recommended this place and it did not disappoint!!! We were a group of four and each of us tried a different sandwich and all of them were super delicious!!
Peter Prevost: This restaurant was supposed to open at 7 AM, but only opened at 7:15 which made catching my flight somewhat of a problem. The staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing and there wasn’t a smile to be found anywhere. Quite a disappointment. The franchise owner should have a serious talk with the staff.
Lynn Kairis: What a fun and amazing time we had again cooking with the dirty apron! This was the second time the dirty apron hosted our dental office for a team building event. We were greeted by the hosts upon arrival, who instantly directed us to our aprons and poured our glasses with wine (which were all very good btw). We were divided into three teams (appie, main and dessert) and each of the instructors guided us through the preparation of our course. We made crab cakes/prawns, beef medallion and a potato crosti (which was to die for) and a trio of chocolate desserts. Not only were we surprised how delicious the food was, we were so immensely full and satisfied by the time the desserts came. The instructors made it clear they were not there to turn us into chefs but to teach us how to make good food in a simple way. Thank you so much for making our experience at the Dirty Apron memorable and we look forward to our next visit in the future!!

Little Kitchen Academy North Vancouver Edgemont Village: what do users think?
hannah Nam: It is a perfect class for small chefs who not only learn to cook dishes made with healthy ingredients, but also taste various sauces and learn from ingredient handling to washing dishes. My child always waits and waits for class of LKA
J R: My daughter likes this place very much. She says it gives her the feeling of being a special chef.ㆍBecause you have to finish with your own hands from beginning to end, you can definitely develop your self-subjectivity.
Angela An: My son did camps with them at 3yr and 4yr. The teachers/chefs were very patient with the kids. The food my son brought home were surprisingly tasty! I recommend this place for preschool kids
Jessica Tan: My kids have fun learning how to cook! I like listening to them tell me what they made, how they made it, and the ingredients they used. They learned how to use kitchen appliances. They are learning how to cook and bake at a young age and that makes me happy. I always look forward to eating the food they made. Thank you LKA for teaching them a new skill.
fan yang: Great experience! My daughter loves it, she has been with LKA for 5 months and she always enjoys the beautiful environment and the lovely people there, I am so happy to choose LKA for her!
TE ZHANG: Great class for kids
Beiyi: Awesome place, my son loves it!
Sepideh Parlee: My son had a great time in Little Kitchen Academy, experimenting with basics of baking & cooking! Lovely way to start this journey in kids!
Chloe F: Absolutely wonderful experience- very impressed with set up and organization. As a parent of an ND child my common worries and complaints about a class were non-issues. Will definitely be coming again.
Lisa Romero: My daughter had a great time and learned so much. Impressed with the chefs and facility. Will be back again.
xy7209: 드랍인했는데. 너무너무 좋아했어요 또하고싶다고
margaret Bowden: This was our second time treating a grandchild to LKA classes. He loved it and looks forward to doing it again. They were very accommodating about making sure he had other children in his class and keeping it fun !! Excellent experience !
Amy Rozier: This was excellent!
Sungshin Kim: It was great experience for My 8 yrs old son as he discovers the different taste of some of the vegetables he made during the class. And he wants to go back for weekly sessions!
Carrie Finlay: Our daughter really enjoyed the Easter baking class!
Amanda Pratt: Being honest😬 …I was dissapointed with the food my kids made. One of my daughters in the teen class made pizza and the dough was thick and very doughy. Honestly, we make better pizza at home…This recipe was sub par and I expected more. My other 2 kids made tacos with cut up fruit and chocolate sauce which was cute. Again I just thought the cooking classes would be of a different caliber. I can say the kids had fun so it’s a nice way to pass the time.
N R: My 4 year old attended Little Kitchen Academy in North Vancouver and had a “super great” time that was “lots and lots of fun” (her words when I picked her up). The experience was really positive and she was so proud to share her baking with the family. I would highly recommend and we cannot wait to book again in the near future.
Katherine Mills: My almost 5 year old daughter attended the spring break class and absolutely loved it!!
Helen Chung: Professional, fun, engaging, educational
Niamh Tallon: We cancelled a registration well before the course began and they will not refund out payment. Not sure what grounds any business gets to keep your money for no services rendered.
Emel AN: My kid had a wonderful time at one of Little Kitchen Academy’s drop in classes. They made Mac and cheese from scratch at their own little stations, sampled herbs and spices and were taught valuable kitchen skills. They came home so excited to share their creation and teach us everything they learned! They keep asking when they get to go back again. I definitely recommend giving LKA a try if your kiddo is at all interested in food or cooking!

Pasta Boy Peter: what do users think?
Jayden Manzara: Peter came to our home & taught us how to make gnocchi and pomodoro sauce. Everything was delicious and it was very fun learning from him. He has lots of knowledge and stories to share, and we had a great time!
Office Suites: It may have been a while ago now (pre COVID!) but we had Peter teach us homestyle, Italian Pasta, for a team building at one of our houses. What fun!We laughed, we cooked, we learned, and we really enjoyed ourselves.Great evening and experience all around!
Peter: Peter came to our house to teach us how to make several kinds of pasta, and to prepare a beautiful dinner using that pasta, as part of a birthday celebration. He has a very engaging and friendly style, and is very knowledgable about many things Italian. Three generations had fun and enjoyed a delicious meal. As my 93 year-old father said, he is a real 'mensch'.
Manroop Ferraro: We had Peter come to our home & teach us a private class for our family. It was such an amazing & fun night. We had 2 little ones (4 & 6yrs) who were entertained and so focused during the class as well. We learned how to make pasta, sauce and also learned so many tips around the kitchen. Peter is very knowledgeable, personable and great teacher. We will definitely book with him again!
Katja Raps: Had so much fun learning to make ravioli. Peter taught us different methods on achieving beautiful ravioli. So Delicious! Also loved his stories. Will be back for more lessons for sure!
asagdagda dagadgad: Room was hot. The stories and stupid. I learnt nothing other than eating food.
Gary Sidhu: A knowledgeable, kind, and talented teacher (he's almost done teacher training for middle/high school kids too) with so many great, entertaining stories. We will be back for more lessons from Peter!
Joanne Cote: I would highly recommend the services of Peter the Pasta Boy. We were a group of 10 co-workers learning to cook over Zoom and it was so much fun!! Peter kept us engaged, laughing and cooking. He gave us great cooking tips, where to shop ideas and stories of his travels. His set up allows you to see each step in the pasta making process. My family loved it so much I made more the following day! Thank you Peter…I look forward to future cooking adventures!
Ilima Loomis: I took Peter's fresh pasta making class at Kitsilano Community Center and loved it! He was an entertaining and supportive teacher, and I left the class feeling confident I could make fresh pasta at home. My family loved the egg noodles I brought home that night and prepared with the fresh tomato sauce Peter showed me how to make. I will definitely be taking more of Peter's classes in the future!
Kaila Butler: Gifted Peter's fresh egg pasta class to my pasta-loving partner for Christmas and it was an absolute treat. First of all, Peter was very strict with COVID protocols and adhering to food safe which was greatly appreciated. The pasta was incredible (we've already made it again!) and Peter was a joy to welcome into our home. I couldn't recommend the experience more 😍
Z Cruz: I gifted my family a gnocchi making class for Christmas with Peter in 2017. We had such a blast and I eagerly awaited the email for the next class. When it did, I jumped on it and I was able to gift the pasta making class for this Christmas. We had so much fun leaning invaluable skills from Peter and words of wisdom from Nonna. Peter took his time to make sure each and everyone of us was learning the steps and skills to produce beautiful pasta dough and turning it into fettuccine. He showed us how make a simple and delicious Pomodorro sauce. I highly recommend this class as it was enjoyable and very educational. Thank you so much Peter for sharing what you love!
Vaughan Bowser: Excellent instructor. Fun, knowledgeable, friendly, makes the class interesting and takes the mystery out of making pasta. Look forward to making pasta at home and to taking more of his classes!
Nora Tong: Peter was so great at educating and keeping the group entertained. A group of 8 of us decided to have an online virtual cooking class for my partner's birthday. We had lots of fun and I'm glad we were able to get together and celebrate despite all of these COVID restrictions! We chose to make the cavatelli pasta which didn't require a pasta machine! Would definitely recommend!
Taiya Ahola: We had a fantastic experience with Pete! I'd organized the pasta making as a virtual event for our work team. It went over well, we drank wine, hand made pasta and sauce and had some good laughs. Pete kept us entertained with stories of travel and tips on best methods for authentic Italian cuisine. 10/10 would recommend Pete for a virtual and fun event.
Chris Patrick: Here's a wonderful idea to bring some social fun into an otherwise bleak 2020.Recently, a group of 8 of us (four couples but needn't be in twos), had an online pasta cooking course with Pasta Boy Peter Ciuffa. It was SO much fun.My friend Jane came up with the idea and after a little hunting on the inter-web, I found Peter. What a lovely person. Full of great personality and a great teacher. We began at 5:00 and started making the cavatelli pasta - Peter chose that as there's no need for pasta making machines. All made by hand.Setting that aside, we then made the boscaiola sauce. Oh, my, was it good! And the tips Peter provided were remarkable. I can still smell the mushrooms heating in the pan. Then pasta met sauce and we all shared a Zoom meal - including Peter and his wife Kathleen.Peter sends out the recipe in advance so you can purchase and measure all the ingredients before starting. The other advantages of this form over 'in person', you can drink yourself silly (not that we did), don't have to drive and you can be anywhere in the world doing it.We had such fun we're doing it again with a different group later this month!
PNO: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValuePeter put on an engaging, educating and fun-fillled evening. I did this with my team at work and enjoyed it so much I did it with my family too. I would highly recommend Peter for any event, either work or pleasure. Thanks Peter, I look forward to another cooking class in the future.
Kathy: Peters Pasta class is a combination of everything you would want in a cooking lesson! ... His passion for food and cooking is enthusiastic as he tells colorful stories relating to the Italian dishes you are about to prepare and sample. His hands on instructions are clear, concise and you will feel confident making these recipes at home. For a great Italian cooking experience I highly recommend Pasta Boy Peter’s classes!
Linda: Really fun day! We made focaccia and Roman pizza. Peter breaks it down and makes it easy - we were sent home with the dough we made and we were able to create our pizzas easily. So many great tips & tricks! It’s a really fun! 👌🏼
Kynan Suttle: Peter is an exceptional chef as well as gentleman. We brought him over for a 9 person pasta making demo and everyone loved it. His food is great and so are his stories about his Italian past. I would highly recommend him for personal lessons, group lessons, as well as social and workplace events. Well done Peter!Fantastico, lo consiglierei!!#eatwhatyoulove
Victoria Charman: I booked a pasta making class with Pasta Boy Peter for an office team building day activity for 20 people and Peter and his sister Daniela could not have made us feel more welcome. Everyone loved the class, there was non-stop smiles and giggles throughout and we all took away a newly found appreciation for pasta making and pasta makers... those poor Nonnas! I highly recommend Peter's classes - his enthusiasm for food is contagious and his classes are so much fun.
John Rankine: Awesome pasta making class!I've already picked up a gnocchi board to practice with.

Pastry Training Centre of Vancouver: what do users think?
Meagan Craven: I completed the cake decorating program in January of this year. Its intensive and comprehensive as you learn the fundamentals and techniques that are becoming a lost art. Marco is a great teacher, extremely knowledgeable, and doesn't sugar coat anything which is great as this is the only way to improve your skills. Its a small class size which allows for more instruction if you are finding a particular technique challenging, all you have to do is ask! Also the smaller size fosters a sense of comradery with the other students and is lots of fun! There is so much to learn from this program. I finished the class with a whole new appreciation and passion for cakes. These lessons are not only helpful for baking but transferable to other areas of life. With Marcos instruction, I learnt to respect each step of the process, as they are all equally fundamental in making a beautiful creation, cake or otherwise!
Giovana Nascimento: I was looking for a pastry course to improve my skills and learn new things. The Pastry Training Centre of Vancouver was the best find. Marco is an amazing chef instructor and the way the course is built and taught, allowed me to have a better understanding and knowledge of the techniques and the science behind the world of pastries and baking. Cathy is the sweetest and always welcome you with a smile.I really enjoyed it and learned a lot, and will be coming back for more!
Elisa K.: Took:Pastry Training Courses 1-10, September to November, 2014.Artisan Bread Baking Course 1, April 2015.The Art of French Eclairs, September 2015.Pastry Chef Ropke, is both, difficult to learn from if you’re low income and highly sensitive. And a vastly knowledgeable professor, and of course, excellent Pastry Chef. For which he has my deep respect.I learned to respect the hard work it takes to do French standard Pastry Art.But you also have to just check how much it costs to take any other professional pastry program. The other are priced astronomically high. And they don’t even teach the French style. The very basic North American style that is somewhat easier. You should only take his courses for education, not expect to be a pro baker if you’re not passionate about it. Saw that in one of my baking partners. She just wanted to have fun.Or be passionate and expect to work blood, sweat and tears to get to be that good at it.[[Edit: Was planning to take the Chocolate Courses, one day. But goals and priorities have changed.]]Also, run a business and see how you like how some customers treat you. You get fed up eventually, too, of the difficult to please customers. Expecting perfect customer service, even if they have unreasonable expectations. And if you want the best, sometimes you have to put up with rudeness from the stressed out Chef. It ain’t easy achieving perfection.Took me so long to review, because I had to work through my feelings, he definitely can’t win Mr. Congeniality😂~
hasan raza: Excellent place to learn and grow your passion for fine pastry, chocolates and baking.Marco is an amazing chef, instructor and person.
No MSG No Garlic Foodie: A friend of mine raved about their bread making class, that's how I found them. I see from other reviews that I am not the only one who find it hard to contact them as they don't tend to return your calls. But that's no reason to give them a low rating here so I took one star off because they are hard to connect with. In terms of rating for food, five stars. I wanted to share how great their cookies are – the best we've ever tasted – not sweet at all. I saw these by chance when I was picking up pastry flour from them. I've been there many times to pick up flour and typically, they have French pastries or chocolates. They promised to contact me when they have a bake sale, but I'm still waiting. I do wish they would offer cookies more often and tell me when they have them!!!
Lauren Wilton: I enjoyed all the classes . Chef Marco is an excellent instructor I learned so much ,the difference that really good ingredients make.i would recommend any of the classes.
Eva Choy: has a temper, unprofessional to students. Pathetic refund policy.
Kathy Raby: Ok, I wonder about the seriousness of this school? Been there twice when they are supposed to be open. Twice they have been closed with all of the lights out door locked up tight..there was nobody in the building. They advertise that they carry a large selection for all you baking needs, but how do we know that if you are not open for anyone to shop there. When i asked around the area, no one seems to know if there were classes being held there since no one is ever around.I was interested in classes with you, but with the poorly kept business hours it leads me to think you business/school is not your first priority. I think I'll just wait.
Paul Cohen-Tannugi: Learned so much from the three Artisan Bread Baking Class I took with Chef Marco. I still haven't bought bread ever since I took classes. Making them every now and then and freezing them is so rewarding. If you feel motivated, you won't regret it.
Anne Motha: I took the cake decorating course with Marco. He is a great teacher. When you are there, he expects you to pay attention and do your best. He demonstrates the techniques and encourage to ask questions. I thoroughly enjoyed the program which was offered in a compressed time over 8 days. I learned a lot and planning on taking some more courses. I will recommend this course to anyone who would like to learn more about cake decorating.
James Shaw: Chef Marco is a great instructor. You get hands on training as well as lessons on the science behind baking.
Kyle Nordman: A passionate teacher who cares about his students and their learning adventure. I have never met someone so good At teaching such a creative course. He makes you feel welcome and really wants you to understand what is happening with pastry than just following some simple recipes. Highly recommended!
Renee Duras: Poor Teaching EthicsI paid $3000 CDN (including tax) for pastry and bread training program and I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the owner of Pastry Training Center of Vancouver- Marco Ropke and Cathy Hui.Firstly, Chef Marco Ropke’s training method is inconsistent. What is taught in class is often different in the recipe. The recipes are often missing baking temperature, baking time and there are spelling mistakes on them. The finish product at home turns out differently. When students go back for help, he brushes them off like its their own problems.Secondly, Chef Marco Ropke does not respect students. He continuously yelling at students and treats student like inferior. In his kitchen, it has to be his way or you get non verbal Put Downs. For example, students have to roll the dough a certain way or they will get a firely look and sarcastic remark from Chef Marco Ropke. What is worse is that he gets MAD at students for asking questions; this kind of negative behavior is a disgrace.Thirdly, Pastry training center offers poor refund policy. In the receipt it states “ We do not offer cash or credit card refunds, all refunds will be issues as credits […] we will keep your credit for max. 6 month.” Leaving students unable to withdrawal from the program and what can you do with $3000 in store credit?Don’t misunderstand me, if you are taking few courses for fun that’s great. But when you paid $3000CDN and gets treated unreasonably, its hard to give a good review and demonstrate magnanimity. All he desires is to make profit from students so he can ease into gentle old age.
Aprilstorm21: I have taken 2 courses from here and I have enjoyed them both immensely. Everyone is friendly and you learn so much about not only how you make things, but why it works that way.
Jennifer Cant: I took the 2 day introductory pastry course, a Christmas gift from my wife. I can't believe how much I learned from Marco. Not only is he an excellent teacher, he has entirely prepared the lessons so that there is a maximum of learning taking place at all times. The atmosphere is relaxed yet efficient. I've produced a Choux pastry desert for friends and family all of whom were very impressed. It was fun to demonstrate what I was taught.I am looking forward to taking more courses which I've discovered on his web site. If you want to learn how to bake properly and also learn WHY you should do the things you do, this is the place to learn!
Erin Dosman: I have taken the introductory pastry course and the summer preserve course and loved both courses. Chef Marco doesn't just tell you how to do things, he tells you why as well. With the information from the courses you better understand how to experiment in the kitchen. And Marco you were right - raspberry, mango, lime jam! My family will never go back to plain raspberry again.
Kristýna Šmídová: Excellent teacher, friendly class, good price, convenient schedule and much more. My initial intention was take just chocolate classes but when I saw the class and stuff Marco teachs I signed up for all pastry and also cake decorating courses. It worked very well with my job as classes are mornings or evenings and I could afford it compare to other schools. The best thing was we took home all the stuff we made. As I learnt a lot I had to sign up for bread classes as well. I was layman in the kitchen but after few months in pastry training centre of Vancouver I got so much knowledge and now I work in Thierry chocolaterie & patisserie - one of the best patisserie in Vancouver. I have to thank Marco and Cathy for everything they did for me. Kristyna
Amie Padilla: Marko is an excellent, knowledgable chef and instructor. The classes are well organized and it is truly amazing what you are able to successfully attain as the end product at the conclusion of the sessions. Would have no reservations about recommending to anyone who is interested in learning more about pastry/baking/decorating.
