Vancouver Diving Locker: what do users think?
Jessica Reilly
Jessica Reilly: Best diveshop in Canada! Extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and just all around wonderful staff!!! Tech questions?? The gotta guy, Gear questions?? They gotta guy, Site questions?? Yep, guy for that too!! Class questions? you guessed it!! Hell they even have a free diving instructor! Promise you won't be disappointed.
Dan Luu
Dan Luu: Occasionally has great selection of really cheap sale gear. Also has cheap, beat up, used rental gear.Normal "new" items are fine, but obviously more expensive than shopping online.
Rachel Kinahan
Rachel Kinahan: I love the online shop, considering how difficult it can be to get diving equipment in some areas! It was fast, easy, great sales, and my order arrived only a few days after ordering. Very happy with this purchase
Howard
Howard: Very good service provider. Highly recommended.
Eric Del Rosario
Eric Del Rosario: I’d like to thank Paul Quiggle ((Sales Manager) for delivering expeditiously the products I ordered. But most importantly, I’m grateful for the amount of time and effort that Paul has spent in elucidating me on the technical aspects of each equipment unit and their compatibility with other units in a system. Not only does he know the diving equipment he’s selling but that he uses those same equipment for his numerous divings. Looking forward to my upcoming PADI Open Water Diver Course in May 2023 with the highly esteemed Vancouver Diving Locker.
Liam McDermott
Liam McDermott: Very friendly local dive shop with regular courses and fun dives. Friendly staff who go above and beyond for customers.

Luke Weller
Luke Weller: I bought an Oceanic dive watch a few months back. Unfortunately because I am a bit of a donut, I broke the strap. I spoke to Paul at the store and he offered a new strap for free and it arrived within 2 days. Excellent customer service. Very impressed x
Amina Virgolici
Amina Virgolici: My partner and I completed our Open Water PADI certification over the last three weeks. We mainly had Luke as our instructor, but the whole Diving Locker staff was awesome.Luke was a hoot!!! Between equalizing and navigating the ocean in a dry suit with over 36 pounds of extra weight, Luke was very patient, especially when I accidentally dropped one of the weights in the ocean.Highly recommended for taking any PADI certification with these great folks!!!
Dimitri Baranovski
Dimitri Baranovski: We needed some snorkeling equipment and have found all we need at the store, everything is in stock and available right away.Knowledgeable and very friendly staff, thank you to Nikita for his advice and help!!Will be returning customers for sure.Cheers!

Darryl Crawford
Darryl Crawford: I was fortunate enough to get my PADI Open Water at Vancouver Dive Locker this week. The entire staff was fantastic! I really want to point out how amazing Luke was as an instructor! He made the entire experience a ton of fun while giving us all the tools we need to dive safely. I had a bit or a nervous dive on the weekend and he was incredibly patient with me and got me back on the right track. I'll forever be grateful for that act of kindness. If you're looking to either get into diving or want to advance your certification, I would highly recommend you contact them and ask to have Luke as your instructor!
Chris Wilson
Chris Wilson: I've purchased a bunch of dive gear from the Diving Locker. My wife and I have recently got into warm water scuba diving. Sea Dragon Charters: what do users think?
Nina Wallace
Nina Wallace: Really lovely staff, the team at Sea Dragon Charters went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely day out on and in the water last Saturday (dive charter). I have never met a dive company who care so much about the welfare and happiness of their divers. I wasn't feeling up for the second boat dive that day so the dive master offered to go snorkeling with me instead or to do a shore dive later that day which would be less deep, or even for us to come back the next day to do the 2nd dive! We were amazed at how accommodating the dive shop was. Thank you so much for your excellent service!
Dylon Swiatek
Dylon Swiatek: Amazing Team, Great Service, Kind wonderful Owners. I had some amazing dives with Divemaster Brian. I highly recommend The Topline! They are very professional and knowledgeable about the area I support them 100%.
conrad schmidt
conrad schmidt: Total 5 star,, super cool bunch of people who clearly love suba diving and want to share the fun with others.
Anina
Anina: Loved the place. The staff are amazing, professional, helpsome and kind. They where very attentive and helpsome both for my dry suit certificate and the boat tour later. I felt totally safe and my dive instructor Victor Malhame was good and very patient with me, making it some very fun dives. We went on the smaller boat that day, which was a little cold for December, but a nice trip with great company.
Marty Reed
Marty Reed: We got the entire family scuba certified. Victor was our instructor. Overall a great experience. He made us all very comfortable throughout the process. We can't wait to take our new skills out for some dives!
Jack Dodson
Jack Dodson: What amazing tour and fantastic team !! It's an experience you just have to do in Vancouver ! The highlight was having a seal posing for us from the rock sticking his tongue out as us while we sat in the water . Wouldn't change a thing and would definitely go again in a heartbeat !
Jace Downey
Jace Downey: This was one of the most fun, amazing experience I’ve had! The staff added so much to the adventure. The whole process was easy, enjoyable and a total blast! We’ll never forget it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Simon Smith
Simon Smith: Amazing experience on the seal snorkel tour, really friendly and helpful crew and super friendly local seals as well!
Jill Bennett
Jill Bennett: What a great experience! I went on the afternoon Snorkel with Seals excursion and was thoroughly impressed with the entire trip. There were only seven people on my trip which I think made it a bit nicer, but the boat is large and could easily accommodate more. The crew was very knowledgeable and helpful and friendly. This is a great way to see a really beautiful part of Howe Sound and to get some great snorkeling in as well. Also, we saw a LOT of seals while in the water. One note, parking in Horseshoe Bay on weekends especially in the summer is difficult, so make sure you give yourself some extra time to find parking if you are driving.
Terri Silvis
Terri Silvis: Had a lovely afternoon snorkeling with seals! The crew was knowledgeable and helpful. Gorgeous day for a unique adventure! I definitely recommend.
Robert Kadlec
Robert Kadlec: Great staff! Fantastic trip. Unbelievable value for your money! Thank you for a fantastic day!
Darby Grady
Darby Grady: Dispite complications with my scheduled dives, the friendly and helpful staff were flexible able to accommodate, facilitating an unforgettable dive trip.
Brynne Wambold
Brynne Wambold: SeaDragons cancelled on us two days before our wedding day and refuse to repay me for their folly. I was informed that the cancellation was due to the trip not being financially worthwhile for SeaDragons as we were the only people booked. We were left scrambling to find another provider and were informed our refund would be issued soon.I have spent the past 7 weeks hounding them via email in order to receive my refund. I was mislead multiple times that a return was going though when it was not. Today they informed me they are no longer able to issue the refund and suggest I contact my credit card company to be reimbursed the $200.Not only did SeaDragons add significant stress to us regarding this special day, they continue to hold my money. We have paid not only for services not rendered, but services that were cancelled BY THEM. I am amazed a small business with these dishonest and uncaring ethics can function.Reply to Owner's Comment:Your lack of honesty is so very disappointing.
Lia Blackett
Lia Blackett: Amazing customer service! I booked a diving tour while on a quick trip to Vancouver with this company and ended up missing it because I got quite sick and ended up in the hospital. When I explained what happened the company helped me out by refunding my tour (which another company I had booked a whale watching tour with refused to do). The lady I booked with was also so nice and helpful to talk to. I will definitely book with them if I ever end up in Vancouver again.
Dina Martinez Tyson
Dina Martinez Tyson: Awesome excursion! Saw seals, kayaked, and swam in Howe Sound. Even saw a hump back whale at the end as we were docking. The staff was courteous and informative. Highly recommend!
IgnisXIII
IgnisXIII: Took a tour with them and it was fantastic! We couldn't see the seals since visibility was low, but even then the experience was pure bliss, and they are all so nice. They thought of everything. Highly recommend them!
Ashwin Gadgil
Ashwin Gadgil: Extremely friendly knowledgable and fairly affordable as well! 10/10 Will recommend for daily charters and training certifications
Naomi B
Naomi B: Would give this a 10 star rating if I could! My friends and I had such an amazing experience on the snorkel and kayak tour!! The owners/tour guides are extremely friendly and nice! They explained everything to us from getting ready before we left, to the seals as a species etc. Definitely going to recommend this to anyone who says they’re coming to Vancouver!
Sebastien Metivier
Sebastien Metivier: Had such a blast. Our instructor went above and beyond. Owners are great people and very knowledgeable. Nice little store front and charter. So many great memories and I will 100% be going back. And I drive 14 hours to go there
Menglei Zhang
Menglei Zhang: 在这里买了一件santi干衣。超级好的服务,老板娘耐心讲解。对于我这样第一次买干衣的人来说相当有帮助。 推荐
Rebecca Grundy
Rebecca Grundy: My boyfriend and I had such a great experience with this company! We went on the Morning Cruise and Kayak Tour and had so much fun. The scenery was gorgeous and Sea Dragon staff were so friendly, communicative, and accommodating. It was raining a bit and they provided us with warm gloves and boots to keep our hands and feet dry. We saw a ton of starfish and seals, which was super exciting. The scenery of Howe Sound itself was unbelievable. Such a great experience, we will never forget it :). Thanks so much for the great tour and service!

International Diving Centre: what do users think?
Cliny Bug
Cliny Bug: Great product choice, good prices and good service
Paul Levesque
Paul Levesque: Wow! I am new to diving and have felt intimidated stepping foot into many of my local diving stores. The extensive on-line shop that International Diving Centre has makes it so easy to browse for that new item you're thinking about adding to your kit. I was able to get all of my questions answered using the chat feature and even though I bought some gear online, I knew that they were taking the same care of my items as if I were standing right there in the store. I look forward to the day that I get to visit the shop in person.
David Shoemaker
David Shoemaker: IDC Vancouver is awesome! I recently did my AOW and Drysuit certifications with Madixx and he was an awesome instructor! Fun to dive with, knowledgeable and patient with us newbie’s!! I’ve purchased new gear and had my existing gear serviced by them and they have been great to work with! A big Thank you to Royse, Madixx and all the staff at IDC!
John Mackey
John Mackey: The order process was seamless....got what I wanted for the price I wanted and it was delivered immediately. Recommend IDC to every diver looking for professional quality and service
Yvonnick Vigneault
Yvonnick Vigneault: Bought equipment online and I had the best service a custumer could have. Great experience with IDC, thank you Royce!
Eric Claus
Eric Claus: Awesome team, service and assortment - 5 stars!!!Eric Claus
Burc Ucak
Burc Ucak: I have got quite few gears from IDC, all transactions were smooth as it's possible as can be. Top notch staff, answered all of my endless questions. Keep up the awesome work!
scott johnson
scott johnson: I have been a long time customer of the international dive center. My daughter got certified last weekend, and I cannot describe how happy we are with our decision to go with iDC. Royce, Maddox and Ho Ki were spectacular. They made the experience of 7° water temperature bearable. At Depth, my daughter, experienced some anxiety and trouble breathing and Ho Ki was able to calm her down and make her feel completely comfortable with the dive, complete the skills and get certified!🙏🏻 My son will be getting certified next, and I would never dream of taking a him anywhere other than the international dive centre
Ann Montgomery
Ann Montgomery: Awesome and prompt service. Bought fins from them online—they helped with sizing, fast shipping, love the fins…thanks
Amanda Bourdages
Amanda Bourdages: Had an incredible customer service experience here! My boyfriend and I went in to get wetsuits, being complete beginners, not knowing really anything about the differences or how they even worked. The team there were super knowledgeable and took the time to educate us and answer all of our questions. We left with a suit each and after use, we are both incredibly pleased with the quality and the fit especially after purchasing the suits suggested for what we wanted to use them for. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!
Chris Wilson
Chris Wilson: My wife and I recently went into IDC to try on some wetsuits and ask some questions about dive gear. We are new to diving and wanted to know more about the essentials.Royce (the owner) was very diligent in answering everything and anything we asked. He is knowledgeable and knows all about diving and the products in the store. We ended up purchasing two wetsuits and two pairs of boots for a great deal. We will definitely be back for more gear in the future.Excellent shop which is clean, organized, and has a lot of different options for all your gear needs.
Sean Duffy
Sean Duffy: I'm a big stickler for service and IDC exceeds my expectations every time. The store is great with a wide selection of gear for all your diving needs. And what they don't have they can get very quickly.Reed is my go-to guy there at IDC and Maddix runs a close second. Reed is an absolute encyclopedia of product knowledge and I always leave more knowledgeable than when I walked in.Great store. Great staff. Everything you need for your diving needs. Can't say enough good things about these people.
Armin Ghayyur
Armin Ghayyur: I completed my open water practical with this dive shop. Amazing team and staff. I strongly recommend completing your course or future dives with Madixx, Alex and Hoki! They do a great job at explaining things and getting you through the program safely and with confidence. Strongly recommend.
nathan parrish
nathan parrish: Great dive shopI had been searching the corners of the web for a Scubapro women's steamer upf 50 suit in xl since I’m a dude and that was the only size that would fit me and came across this site. Being excited that I had finally found one I asked them what size would be best and they helped me determine the size I needed and as for shipping it arrived on time. But great shop I will maybe be returning here to get more stuff if I need it.
Emad Nossier
Emad Nossier: Very good variety of diving gear. reasonable pricing and very good deals offered, above all, excellent customer service.
Nick Pizza
Nick Pizza: Phenomenal dive shop. This review is solely for customer service and shopping experience.Staff are extremely knowledgeable and honest. Never felt pressured for an upsell or anything. Just straight facts and trying to see what's actually the best for me.Had an issue with a product (manufacturer issue) and they were very prompt, and happy, to assist. Selection is abundant. Where they didn't have something in stock there, they offered to conveniently order it in. Will continue to shop here
Megan Koevoet
Megan Koevoet: Great customer service!!
Freedom TaeKwon-Do
Freedom TaeKwon-Do: Truly a great company to deal with! I was looking to pick up a dry suit and was not sure what my best option was. I sent out emails to many companies and Reed got back to my really quickly. He took the time to send me a bunch of different options, prices and suggestions. He really went above and beyond to provide amazing customer service. Once I had narrowed my choices down, I had asked Reed to place an item aside until I could travel down to see it. He was awesome and put the suit aside, making sure he had everything I was interested in for when I was able to travel down to Vancouver. When I got to the shop,. He spent over an hour with me, explains options, technical points, and getting me to try on different combinations into we came up with the perfect package. He took his time to explain everything, answer all my questions and even offer personal and professional suggestions to all of my questions. I will certainly be back and will get all my gear through Reed and IDC. Their knowledge, patience and customer service are truly top level. They even took the time to check up on me a week later and see how things worked out for me…. I haven’t seen customer service like this for a very long time. Kudos to IDC for being the best! I highly recommend everyone that is looking for gear… go see IDC!
H S
H S: Excellent customer service. I received a personal email within minutes of placing an order to inform me the item was on back order. Half of my purchase was immediately shipped to me and I was given the option to cancel the other item. Will definitely purchase from them again.
R Casama
R Casama: Offered very helpful advice over the phone
Marcus Sommers
Marcus Sommers: I ordered a mask with prescription lens inserts and they were kind enough to install the lenses for me and communicated clearly throughout. Excellent service

UBC Aqua Society: what do users think?
Victor Leung
Victor Leung: My experience was terrible but it was about ten years ago. The coach randomly made up rules days before the test. eg. He randomly made up we need to swim 800m instead of 200 and treading water for like 40 minutes. It was such a big waste of my time and money.
Ellie Chen
Ellie Chen: Took the open water course with UBC aqua society. The instructors are very knowledgeable and took time to ensure everyone understand the knowledge and skills performed. I have recommended this to my friends who are interested to get their open water certification.
Michael M
Michael M: The whole crew at the UBC Aqua Society is amazing to deal with. Thank you for fixing my regs when no other dive shop I took them to was able to! I look forward to continuing my training with you guys
Greig Laughlin
Greig Laughlin: DO NOT GO HERE. I had an awful experience here (and so did my friends). I went looking for a refresher and told them I had been 14 years since initial open water training and 10 yrs without a dive and that I couldn't remember much. They suggested I'd be fine for the open water dive, anyway. I asked for a refresher in the pool first before committing to open water. Went in the pool with them for a refresher which included ZERO basic material review. I had a hard time in the pool and forgot basic stuff. Out of the pool the instructor outright accused me of lying about my PADI open water cert. Humiliating and insulting. Furthermore, they refused to refund money for the outdoor dive even though that dive was full anyway (I was only on a wait list - and had only agreed to go if the pool went well). I eventually got a refund when I argued at length with them. Someone is going to die on one of their trips given how nonchalant and disorganized they are.Edit: note the response below, refusing to take responsibility. i wrote a letter the day after and emailed it to the aqua society- so they received it. Shame.
Daniel Korchinski
Daniel Korchinski: Just got our dry suit cert with Alex. Had a ton of fun! He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and made getting acquainted with the new gear (despite a few years of rust) a breeze.
Kelsey Dougan
Kelsey Dougan: Did my Advanced diver course with Aqua Society a few years ago. Very helpful and encouraging, staff are knowledgeable about the equipment. Now I still enjoy their monthly fun dives (called club dives but you don't need to be a UBC student nor club member to join). It's a great way to meet new dive friends, the bbq is delicious and dm Alex is awesome at pointing out cool/hidden animals. I would reccomend this shop
Andrew Zang
Andrew Zang: UBC Aqua has some of the most knowledgeable and attentive instructors I have ever met! I have taken courses here all the way from Advanced Open Water to Divemaster and have seen firsthand how much the instructors care about each and every student who comes through UBC Aqua. Their club dives also provide a fun, relaxed and welcoming environment to really allow diving to flourish as a passion. I will definitely be diving with UBC Aqua for years to come!
Chris D
Chris D: Course is too fast paced, and relatively large groups with very little opportunity to practice under supervision if you don’t opt for the private lesson route and even then. Each exercise is practiced at a strict minimum, if possible only once... very different from my normal approach where practice makes perfect. Great instructors with lots of experience but this could be the down fall as it makes the class relay on pass successes and not assessing the special need of each group. Timing allows for very little flexibility if anything goes wrong, if I had to chose now, I would of chosen an other provider.
Todd A. Whitworth
Todd A. Whitworth: I took my PADI Rescue Diver Course with UBC Aquasociety, and I am currently in their Divemaster program. They are a professional very friendly group of instructors. Between all of the staff there is a vast and varied knowledge set on the sport of scuba diving.Weather you are interested in recreational diving, technical diving, gear maintenance, scientific diving etc these folks have someone who can help you with your goals. They have a full service shop, including air fills, rentals, retail items, and gear maintenance, and they have one of the few course directors in the province of BC Canada. Come on by and get to know the crew, enjoy some cold water diving with us in beautiful British Columbia!
Angela Geib
Angela Geib: The staff here really know their stuff.
Xixi Tian
Xixi Tian: It was a Great experience of learning scuba diving with my instructor Alex and Michael, they are super nice, experienced and patient to their students. Everyone in the society are super nice and friendly. The price was fairly good. Btw it’s not just for UBC student, anyone can join event and take course. if you are planing on starting scuba diving, Strongly recommended here
Loudyn Forsgren
Loudyn Forsgren: Brendan and his staff offer a top class experience when it comes to diving. If you're just starting out or want to go pro The Aqua Society is a great shop to dive with. They have well organized schedules for classes so whether you're a student at the university or work in the city they can always find a way to get you certified. Having the pool so close to the shop is nice as it saves so much time during courses. A lot of the instructors at the shop are or we're students at the university and did their training through the aqua society so they know exactly how to help new divers. The club aspect creates a friendly atmosphere with regular dive trips planned, and with tons of members there are always chances to meet new dive buddies.Of course in the shop they can also help you with any gear needs you have.
Christine Spice
Christine Spice: I first learned about UBC Aqua Soc 3 years ago when I was a student at UBC. I was fresh out of my Open Water that I got back in Ontario and was eager to dive in the ocean for the first time!My boyfriend and I signed up for the Advanced Open Water and Dry Suit Specialty Course and we had a great first experience with long-time instructor Rahim! The shop was also the most budget-friendly shop in the city!As other reviews have mentioned, once you get a feel for the shop, you get hooked! Since then, I've taken my Rescue Diver course, my Divemater course and participated in Club Dives.I have nothing but great things to say about UBC Aqua Soc!As a young female it was so refreshing to have young, men AND women instructors who are so knowledgeable! It was easy to relate to the team and it was awesome to make new friends my own age in the diving community. When I was in a pinch to buy all by own gear for a Scientific Diving course Brendan the shop manager went above and beyond to help me find all the gear I needed. I even rock his old BCD now! If you have any equipment questions or are shopping around for some new gear, he's your man!I really enjoyed taking my Divemaster course at the shop. It was so fun helping with Open Water courses and seeing new divers so keen on exploring the underwater world. I would highly recommend the Divemaster course! They are so accommodating if you work full-time (like me!) I was able to make it happen!Lastly, If you already have your Open Water cert sign up for a Club Dive!! Its a great way to meet the team and get out and make new diving friends!Keep on being awesome UBC Aqua Soc!
Jonathan Heinz
Jonathan Heinz: I took my first PADI course through the UBC Aqua Society in 2008 and have continued to join in for the occasional event. All of the staff have been incredibly helpful and their knowledge of dive sites all across British Columbia is exceptional. With a brand new pool and great facilities at UBC; I can't imagine a better place to take any of the introductory or more advanced courses.
Amroco
Amroco: A really great team, very engaging, fun and supportive. I did my IDC with themand feel that the years of teaching (its the oldest dive club in Canada??), and their familiarity with the local diving conditions was passed along to me really well. I have dived all over the World and hands down think that diving in Cold water conditions with drysuit experience, gives you skills and confidence to dive in anywhere (I guess it's almost like learning to drive manual/stick first - you can drive anything after!) Full disclosure - I am biased because I like these people! (but I bet you will be too, so whatever)
Bobby Chan
Bobby Chan: I have done a number of courses, club dives, and trips with this group. Everything has always been well planned and organized and the instructors are all very experienced and friendly. Definitely the funnest group to dive out of!
Rosalind Doak
Rosalind Doak: Such a great place! The staff I've dealt with are super knowledgeable and also make the experience really fun. I have done my advanced and rescue certifications there and I would definitely recommend them!
Stef G
Stef G: I did all of my dive training with the Aquasoc. Brendan the shop manager is very helpful and organized. The instructors are really passionate about what they do. The club atmosphere is great for meeting new people and getting in on group dives locally and affordably. The pool facility is next door to the shop too!
Samantha Tyrrell
Samantha Tyrrell: Loved every bit of the experience. The whole team was so awesome and supportive, I 100% recommend UBC Aqua Society to anyone wanting to "dive" into something new! Missing my little scuba fam!
April Houweling
April Houweling: Best diving experience! The whole trip to Victoria was planned out very well and was such a good deal! Everyone on the trip was stoked about diving and very knowledgeable. As a beginner I felt very comfortable and everyone was willing to help. My trip to Race Rocks is one I will never forget! Swimming with sea lions is an experience I will never forget. I got to know the group really well and share amazing experiences with them. Will definitely be signed up for the next trip!
Emily Smith
Emily Smith: I highly recommend The UBC Aqua Society: an eclectic, professional, and fun group of instructors / friends to all.

Rowand's Reef: what do users think?
Daisy Zhang
Daisy Zhang: We were supposed to get a 10% discount for our in-store purchases because of our open-water swimming lessons. On May 5, 2023, we visited the shop and reminded the store employee Noah about the discount before making the purchase. After paying, we confirmed with him that he had applied the discount. After walking out of the store, we checked the receipt and noticed no discount was applied. We immediately went back to the store to get an answer, and Noah told us he had applied the discount to the original price of the first item on the receipt (i.e. he claims the $49.99 neoprene socks were supposed to sell for $59.99 and that he had manually marked it down). I thought it’s suspicious that a 10% discount would come to exactly 10 dollars & went and checked the price of the item at the corner of the store. Guess what? It’s priced at $49.99, i.e. no discounts whatsoever were applied to our purchase for any of the items. With no apologies, Noah then told us that he is new and thus doesn’t know how to apply discounts. (??!!)Noah lied to us twice in a row, without blinking. He also claims to not know how to issue us a refund, citing that he’s new to the store. He then asked us to call the store the next day for a refund. I had to ask him to write us a note on the back of the receipt for proof because at this point I can no longer trust him/the store. My partner emailed the store the next day about the incident, and we are asked to visit the store again to get the refund in cash. When I went back to the store to get the refund, on May 11, the manager of the store Cody confronted me, without hearing anything from me, told me that I was rude to Noah.—I sent Cody an email offering to go over the their store’s video/audio surveillance footage of my time at the store together, and have yet to receive any response.
Connal McNamara
Connal McNamara: I’ve done a couple of the community dives with this shop. It’s a nice way to get more comfortable with diving, dry suits, and get more familiar with the areas around Vancouver. I hope they can continue to dive at Porteau Cove!I also did my Advanced Open Water with Paul. It was a fun, relaxed experience with an emphasis on gaining confidence and learning a few useful skills. We saw an octopus! So good—five stars.
Jennifer Jackson
Jennifer Jackson: Friendly, helpful staff, and very good at making someone feel comfortable while learning how to dive.
Zuber Singh
Zuber Singh: I did my Dry Suit cert this past weekend with Allie at Whytecliff Park and it was one of the best experiences I've had.She is a joy to be around, is very patient, and helped me get comfortable with the dry suit fast. Buoyancy control was something I was a bit nervous about at first but she helped me understand it well, gain confidence, and start enjoying everything cold water diving has to offer. The rest of the staff I've interacted with, Paul and Cody, were professional and helped me get prepared properly in the days leading up to the course.I look forward to continuing exploring BC waters with Rowand's Reef!
CORITON & LE MAREC Théo & Claire
CORITON & LE MAREC Théo & Claire: An awesome experience with awesome instructors ! We did our Open Water Certificate. They are very patient and supportive ! Thank you !

Nicolas Gillet
Nicolas Gillet: Amazing shop, amazing courses, amazing people there!
Thomas Campos
Thomas Campos: Did our Padi certification open water with Paul and Ali. They were incredibly professional and friendly, fun and efficient instructors.
CHJ Lee
CHJ Lee: Take a photo of your receipt. Really??? This is the best tip from this store and the staff. One year warranty will be given to you with the receipt. (Of course you need to purchase from this store.) The staff even show me how to take care of the wetsuit, how to store it and dry it. Putting money in your pocket*.* Love it. Thank you very much Rowand's reef.
Mark Pickup
Mark Pickup: We did our dry suit course with Allie. She was a great instructor. Very knowledgeable and patient.
Megan Bourassa
Megan Bourassa: Had a great dive adventure this weekend with Allie and Paul! They were both very knowledgable, helpful and fun. We will definitely be booking another dive trip with Rowand's Reef again soon!
Derek Isaac
Derek Isaac: I took a refresher open water dive as I hadn’t dived in over 20 years. We went out to Porteau Cove and my instructor Paul was very knowledgeable and helpful. The dives were great and I would highly recommend them.
Daz
Daz: They'll give you more information than you need when buying something, don't ever change. Super knowledgeable and great service.
Dylan Campbell
Dylan Campbell: I got certified to drysuit dive. It was an absolutely phenomenal experience. I’ve done a fair bit of diving all over the world and was really impressed with the quality of gear and experience of everyone at the shop. Shout out to Ali in particular. If you dive with her your in good hands. Would recommend to anyone.
Annie Roy
Annie Roy: Such a great day diving with Paul!Communication with the dive shop was always super easy and friendly. On the day of our dive tour, Paul was very welcoming and made our experience memorable. I highly recommend.
Philippe Morin
Philippe Morin: Had a private dive tour with Paul and it was great! Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I'm a beginner scuba diver and he was very generous with his time, answering every question I could think of. Worth every penny and more!
Terry Wallace
Terry Wallace: Nice store with very friendly and helpful staff.
Lillian Liberman
Lillian Liberman: Great store for scuba gear and triathlon events. I returned a tri suit i never ended up wearing and lost 10% on a restocking fee. I was told this was because visa companies charge a fee but i believe that is 2% not 10% disappointing as if you buy something that doesn't work for you you won't get your full money back even within 2 weeks of returning the item. Definitely something to consider when shopping here as items aren't cheap so 10% adds up.
Ben
Ben: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff (and doggo)!
J Dh
J Dh: Reviewing as an open water swimmer.I bought articles (gloves, socks, wetsuit) so I could extend my open water swimming season into the colder months. The wetsuit I bought was a tad too small and did not stretch to fit me better as the shop attendant advised. The 5mm gloves are amazing (incredibly hard to get on).The 5mm socks are also amazing. One year prior I bought 3mm socks that are too large, the shop worker at the time told me they were the perfect size for me and so on my second visit I had a better idea of fitting. This is the first time I've bought swimming "gear" (not needed in warmer months) and would have appreciated some help getting the sizes right. Bummed with my first sock purchase but I can eat it because they're not super expensive. Especially bummed with the fit of my wetsuit because that was an expensive purchase.I also purchased a pair of training fins for swimming that are maybe a size too small.I don't buy online because I like to try things on and have never shopped for any of these items before. Would have appreciated more of an effort by staff to ensure correct sizing on my first sock purchase, training fins, and wetsuit.I'm not sure they are used to total gear newbs walking in and expect some base level of knowledge by the customer. Unfortunately my base knowledge came at the cost of some ill fitting gear.Otherwise the shop is excellent. Not newbie friendly. Take your time to do research, don't feel rushed, and don't feel bad to ask the staff to try on every size of the thing(s) you want to purchase. For cold water swimming make sure the gloves have a gasket of sorts else water will come into the glove and slosh around. Oversized socks will also slosh with water, ensure a proper fitting.Would be 4 star if my purchases fit better. 5 star if staff had been more proactive in sorting me out.
Thomas Miraglio
Thomas Miraglio: I did my dry suit certification with Rowand's Reef. The staff is very friendly, and I look forward to dive with them again for sunday group dives!

Ocean Quest Dive Centre: what do users think?
Aurora Sawkins
Aurora Sawkins: Had a great experience taking my open water dive course here. Super good vibes all around, very friendly, attentive and professional staff
Sebastián Delgado Sánchez
Sebastián Delgado Sánchez: Amazing diving instructors, the course is pretty chill and everyone had a great time.Zach and Alex 👍👍
Quinton Pryce
Quinton Pryce: A Dive Center that really cares about the community. The kind of place that everyone knows your name (if you let them) and are more than happy to help anytime. Makes me really love the sport
Taylor K
Taylor K: Thank you Aiden and Zack for the excellent advice and help. As always, the staff at Ocean quest are knowledgeable and polite.
Carley Caldow
Carley Caldow: We had a great experience with our training. The 3 instructors were amazing, would highly recommend.
Robert Boshaw
Robert Boshaw: I did my Search and Recovery, and my Rescue certification at Ocean Quest. Excellent instruction and a fantastic community.
Yuli Sun
Yuli Sun: This is THE place for high quality training with a desirable selection of gear! And Fabiola is amazing!
Tristan Wilson
Tristan Wilson: Wonderful experience. Extending helpful staff.
Brad Houghton
Brad Houghton: I just finished my IDC and MSDT with Ocean Quest. We started by doing the online elearning, then did our first 4 sessions through zoom video calls. The last 10 days have been filled with classroom, training, and diving. Words can't express this experience. Fabiola is a wealth of dive knowledge, and an amazing resource in preparing future instructor candidates for the IE at the end of the course. Not only did I pass, I made some incredible new friends and dive buddies along the way.Thank you for your guidance, wisdom, and words of encouragement throughout the whole process. I will definitely recommend Ocean Quest to anyone who wants to become a scuba instructor!
Christian Kragh
Christian Kragh: I took my sidemount course with Ocean Quest in December and it is by far the best I have ever taken.I also bought my sidemount kit from them and they were great at helping me set up the entire rig, while going through the process, so I could adjust it myself if needed.Alex was a great instructor and he took his time to answer every question and went through every single step of the course, and made sure that we understood everything. It seems like the owner Greg has made his own modified program for teaching sidemount, (PADI has some stuff about using a snorkel, which to me seems like a hazard), so I'm glad they didn't ask us to use that, and this to me seems so much better.Remember it's about the instructor and not the agency. It is also worth mentioning, that although you can come and get your OW / AOW certs here, these are definitely more of a technical diveshop (but don't let that stop you from going here if you are new to diving). Most, if not all of the staff also seems to be diving SM themselves, and it clearly shows (Fabiola knew the length of the various bungees by memory).I would also mention to anyone considering buying gear, these guys will let you try most things before you buy. I only had the the Fourth Element Arctic and Alex offered to let me borrow their vest if I thought I would be cold. A lot of other shops won't let you do that, they will even try and sell you stuff off the shelf just to clear their storage. You won't find 100 different brands of masks and fins here, but that is because they value quality over quantity and only sell gear they, themselves have tried and would recommend. If for some reason you insist on split fins, I'm sure they could do a special order. Otherwise there's other diveshops that thinks they are great and sell them.My next course will probably be the foundations and then off to rescue diver. Can't wait to go diving with you guys again.
Robyn Huang
Robyn Huang: Great service here at Ocean Quest - friendly, detailed, patient and client-focussed. Enjoyed working with the team - Bryce, Phil and Greg - for rental gear, free-diving coaching (via Phil), and buying equipment.
Rob MacKenzie
Rob MacKenzie: Good place, my local dive shop for all my scuba stuff
RodrigoBastias - com
RodrigoBastias - com: Friendly #customerservice and convenient prices. Great place if you are looking for a new Scuba gear. I highly recommend this place for a quick visit. One of my favorite
Bruce Singer
Bruce Singer: I got into diving a few years ago. I was always looking for a shop to be my “home shop”. I tried most shops in the the Vancouver area and they all left me wanting more however somehow I missed Ocean Quest. I left the Province for work and upon my return, I sent messages to all of the shops and Ocean Quest welcomed me into the shop. Very quickly I found the shop to feel like family. This place is well worth your time. Equipment is amazing and service is even better. Their classes are kept at a small student to instructor ratio which allows you almost personal instruction. Their Saturday mornings are kept busy as they host free professionally led dives open to all levels of divers.
Michael Blecich
Michael Blecich: Did my IDC with Ken D, 4 years ago...was a commercial diver as well but had a dive accident that has kept me out of the water for 4 long dry years...when I got medical clearance to dive again..ocean quest was the FIRST call I made. They have the gear I prefer, they are knowledgable and fairly priced...come on...its 1 800 pay padi for a reason, everything diving is costly, BUT.. these guys are fair and not greedy. Cant wait to get back into teaching status. They are serving my regs this week and I'm buying a BCD as well..thanks for keeping it going Greg, when other shops have closed up.
Owen Craig
Owen Craig: We were looking to purchase FULL Drysuit gear. Ocean Quest spent the time to fit us out properly, provided a guided shore dive, and permitted us to demo ALL BRAND NEW gear without providing a credit card, or deposit. We could have walked away after the demo. Our dives were great! Needless to say we bought the gear from them!I have never heard of a dive shop letting you try ALL the gear PRIOR to purchasing. They go above and beyond! We would give them a 6 out of 5 if we could.
Terry Abel
Terry Abel: Great course instruction, great gear advice and super nice staff.
Mohamed Auf
Mohamed Auf: Dry suit Diving at Whytecliff - Sierra the instructor was very good, passionate about diving and enjoyed every minute of the course.
Ted Fowler
Ted Fowler: Stopped in to shop for fins and mask, while discussing dive gear I mentioned I had purchased a Mares dive computer, "oooo"..... the the young gentleman minding the shop said "They havent updated their computer programs since the nineties" untrue I later discovered, the Puck, Mares baseline model hasnt been changed, mainly because it is still considered the best budget computer on the market. Apparently he has been listening to the sales reps. Then I mentioned I would be diving on Cozumel, at which time I was informed that diving in and around Vancouver was far superior, I have yet to meet anyone who has dived at both who agrees with him, I assume he was trying to sell their diving services, or has never been to Cozumel. I did puchase a mask there which I was assured was a low volume mask, it has turned out to impossible to completely clear when flooded, and I have realized after speaking with my divemaster that it is one of the largest masks she has seen. The next time I go scuba shopping I will do it at a shop with informed employees.
Caitlin McCracken
Caitlin McCracken: The team at Ocean Quest is by far the most outstanding scuba dive training facility that my family and I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with in our years of diving! They always take all the time we need to impart the highest level of knowledge about equipment and all types and levels of training. Their entire staff follows Greg & Deirdre’s sales philosophy and really matches what it says on their website!! They never try to sell us something we don’t need and only sell gear they believe in:) It is obvious they all just love scuba diving!! 🐟🐬🐳Owners Deirdre & Greg along with their phenomenal dive team always make us feel welcome, never rushed and it’s just nice a good feeling to walk into this friendly shop, even if it’s been a while and they always remember our names:) Thanks to Deirdre & Greg and their professional and personable team - Noah, Fabiolla, Phil, Sierra, Jason, Dan & Josh 😀🌟
Janet S
Janet S: Got certified with Ocean quest, doing the classroom portion prior to our trip to the Philippines - where we would then do our open water portion. Instructors were thorough, entertaining and experienced. They made sure our skills were solidified in the pool before letting us go. Would return here again if we decide to get more courses done.

I took all of my scuba course through dive and sea, bought my scuba gear through dive and sea, and when I buy random dive gear from Craigslist, George is the guy to get it serviced and up and running! 1000% recommend this spot for all your diving needs!

Nathalie Koo
Nathalie Koo: George is great! Still new to diving so really don't know what I should get and what I need to get. But George knows and won't pressure me to buy things outside my budget and skill level. He takes the time to explain why I need the pieces I need and what they do. Yay George and team!
Alexandre Rondeau
Alexandre Rondeau: George, the owner, is super knowledgeable and super fun to talk with. I never felt pressure to buy anything from him. He never push to sell the expensive gear, he strive to make sure you get what you need. Always gave me super good advice. His shop is in a little mall, from the outside it doesn't look as fancy as other Vancouver dive shop, but for me the service and expertise is what counts and that's what you are getting at Dive and Sea! Ask him to look at his filling system. I think he owns more banks than all the other shop put together! It's impressive!

Barbara Leao: I came to Vancouver from Quebec only for a whale watching tour to watch orcas. I am an animal lover, and I was pretty excited about visiting the aquarium because it says it is the largest one in Canada. Well, I have been to Ripley's Aquarium in Toronto and the Quebec City Aquarium, and I have to say both are better than the one in Vancouver. It is not bad, but the penguins have been transferred to Alberta, and aside from the others, seals, and sea lions, it is very common. It is the most expensive of all three if you do no plan ahead. If you are an animal lover like me, give it a shot. Otherwise, just walk around Stanley Park for free.
