Sheri Ecker: Complete waste of time and money! Not to mention the emotional distress it has caused my family. For 20 yrs we have been trying to heal from a tragic death of a family member. Someone came to us, thinking they may be the offspring of that person. We had this test done which came back 88.2% chance we are related. After having a more thorough test done from a different company, it came back we are not related at all. Super upset as we are starting our healing journey once again.

FireDrip: Great customer service via email. I asked several questions and they were able to answer each question in depth! They also waived a $15 report fee since I was having one sent to me (included) and one sent to my potential father's address (second report not included). I was impressed with how thorough they have been with two different tests I had ordered. This made them stand out from the competition! Gary Lyons: Complete waste of my time money and effort. I ordered a sibling DNA test to confirm the half sibling relationship between myself and my alleged sister. We suspect we have the same father but he is deceased. The test came back inconclusive. I reached out to LabCorp for a second opinion. They informed me that they could test myself and my alleged sister along with both of our mothers. They would be able to isolate the DNA we each received from our respective mothers which would as a result isolate the DNA we received from our fathers. They would then be able to give us a much more conclusive result. I gave SecuriGene a call to ask if they could test both of our mothers since my alleged sister and I have already been tested by them. They informed me that they do not have the capability to perform this test. So much for being the #1 lab in North America. In the end, the money I spent with SecuriGene was a complete waste not to mention the time which is even more valuable. Now I will have to pay LabCorp for 4 DNA tests. I sure wish I had went with LabCorp in the first place. Also SecuriGene was not transparent. They did not explain that without our alleged father to compare DNA with our results had a much higher chance of being inconclusive. Had I known that in the beginning I surely would have shopped around and did more research to find a better test. I'm very dissapointed.****UPDATE****SecuriGene reached out to me immediately to inform me that I received incorrect information from one of their newer staff members. It was an honest mistake. They informed me that they can in fact test both of our mothers to provide more accurate results. For the miscommunication they offered to do the two additional tests and no charge to me including shipping. This is wonderful! There’s nothing wrong with making a mistake. What matters most is how you handle the situation afterwards. Thank you so much SecuriGene for being a company with a high ethical standard and excellent customer service. I really appreciate it!

Kacey Leone: My doctor recommended I order the alcohol intolerance test from this company after experiencing some symptoms. Once it arrived, the packaging did not look like what I had ordered, and there was a note telling me to activate my kit when I couldn't find an activation code anywhere. After speaking with a representative, they informed me that the kit automatically activates after it is received... so why did I spend an hour trying to activate it per the instructions?? The test itself provided instructions for a genetics test, which I was not getting, leading to further confusion. Lastly, when I ordered the test I had assumed the turnaround time would be a few days after it was received, but when I went to check my results it said "4-6 WEEKS after it is received" - which was not posted anywhere on the website before I made the purchase. I'm not sure how their other tests are run, but the alcohol intolerance test thus far has left me unsatisfied.
Caitlin Ames: I bought a test it was sent out i gave my son the test and a month later i tested the guy who i didn't want to be his dad because he agreed to the test. I sent it back in the day they got the test samples i had the test within a day after they recieved the swabs. I took it to court and got the same results. Now i have 4 tests that say he's the dad. For accuracy I'd trust them. I'd use them again if i had any doubts for sure.

If I could give them 0 stars I would.I'll start off with I was getting this test for me and my father, who was in his last days of life. I placed an order with them march 16, 2018. And cancelled my order march 28, at this time I hadn't even received a kit from the company. I had to go buy a kit from cvs and send it to DDC Testing because my father was literally about to die and I had to do the swabs before we put him in the ground.So, got a kit from a store, did the test on him before he died on march 21 he left us.Mind you, I called Genex for assistance in cancelling my order march 17, but they were closed because it was a Saturday so I waited and called again on Monday from someone to hang up on me when I tried to talk about cancelling. I called again for someone to tell me they didn't cancel orders by way of phone and I had to fill out paperwork in order to recieve a refund. So, I fill out the paperwork to get my money back and I receive HALF of a refund. I call in to speak to a snarky child like woman named Jennifer, who thinks she can read, and she tells me per the refund paperwork since they already sent out the kit I only get half a refund but if I want to speak to someone else about and see about getting all of it back I need to email someone about this.So, I email now. They are absolutely no help and repeat what the child like woman named Jennifer says but they try to say I received a kit because they sent it (because mail that you sit on front door steps always arrives in the hands it belongs to). But regardless if they sent it and regardless if I received ear swabs in a package (which I did not) none of that should matter when they never had to do any testing for me what so ever. I had to go to another company not by choice but by cause of life. My father died March 21, 2018 at 10:46pm genex couldn't deliver what I needed in time therefore I needed a refund.They throw you through hoops of stuff and rude customer service for no one to actually be a decent human and give me a refund. This to me says only one thing; that the company isn't legit and is struggling to make it because they are stealing $40 from people and don't deliver. I paid $89 for the kit that never came and they refunded me $39.I am writing this review in hopes of helping people and being able to refer people to where I was pleased and helped many times over. Everyone save you time and money and go to do any testing like this to DDC paternity testing instead. Great service great people and quick turn around. Buy the kit in cvs, send it off recieve results. Best of luck!!

Shadi Sajjad: The front desk staff members are not polite and considerate. They talk to people in a very unpleasant and disrespectful way.
Farzaneh A: I had my best blood test experience in this lab. Very clean place, the staff were friendly and skilled.
British Knight: This life lab is always busy. Staff are exceptional considering patients arrive early and are always in a rush. Have to have blood check every three months and I found them to be courteous and patient. Those in the health services do not get enough credit for what they have to put up with with viruses, pandemic, over doses, normal flu season and everyday health problems. I thank them for being there and their services.
Helia: Very rude staff at the reception. I think she didn’t like my accent, telling me about the rules in Canada while I’m a Canadian myself.

I cannot get my blood work results online as the I have to register MYSELF under my own account to see those!! However, this does not work as my lab visit number is not there on the sheet they gave me or does not fit!! Why my PHN that your should have asked me on the first place is not sufficient for my test results!????

Talon Mann: Incredible service!I hate blood and needles to begin with so it’s important to me that the staff is understanding and accommodating.My appointment started off with a hitch when they told me they never received my requisition but the receptionist was incredibly patient and friendly and was willing to wait almost 30min for my doctors office to send the req even though this was a scheduled appointment. I didn’t even have to wait much longer for my blood test once they got it and it was quick and painless and the phlebotomist was also friendly.My experience here was 100% better than when I went to the one in Chinatown where the staff were pushy, rude, and in accommodating.

Michael: This is my neighborhood LifeLabs which I visit when I get a requisition from doctor. You need to book an appointment though. After booking and showing up I've never had a problem and their staff is polite and efficient. One of the staff even warned me that one test would incur a triple figure fee because doctor didn't specify a diagnosis. Thank you.
Susan Jung: The lab closed at 2pm today, January 6 due to inclement weather. No one from the office had the decency to call the patient to inform them of the closure. So anyone with an appointment after 2pm made their way to the office through the snow and slush to find the door shut.Time and effort to get my elderly parent to the appointment not worth anything to the lab
Nathan Lim: Fiancé went for a blood test. The 40 something year old lady with shaky hands jabbed the needle way to deep into her arm causing a shooting pain down to the hand and a burning sensation at the site of the incision.

I have severe anxiety and it caused me to have a meltdown. After having to call my drs office wait on hold, wait for them to email me a copy of the request. Go back inside and have to wait because now my pre booked appointment is missed. It was such a gong show.

Natasha Lu: I have had the WORST experience with LifeLabs Travel PCR Tests. If you do use them, make sure all your details are correct and your middle name is included because they DO NOT provide refunds quickly. Someone told me to just purchase another one and request a refund (they said it would take a few days). I asked for the refund on JULY 7 and its been basically 4 MONTHS (OCTOBER 27) and I still have not received it. This is completely ridiculous.

Usually I'm given the option of which arm I would like them to draw from but not today!He chose my heavily tattooed right arm and after putting the needle in my skin, fumbled around under my skin for at least 10-15 seconds looking for a vein.I've had blood taken plenty of times and am a regular blood donor and this was the most painful experience I've had in regards to blood being taken.I was surprised how short the wait was considering I didn't have an appointment, so that was a plus.

Atefeh Erfani: This life lab location has such great staff! The team here, from receptionist to technicians, are all so nice and kind! They treated me and everyone else with smile and sense of humor here and there! Great service! Thank you!
Piotr Wieczorek: Really unfriendly, slow, rude front desk service. Also, the nurse asked me for the sample location of a swab I handed him in a tiny room packed with people with a complete disregard for my privacy of such sensitive information. When I said they can read it on the label, where it’s written in bold letters, they were visibly grumpy. I don’t think this person is enjoying their job or should be working a job based on helping and respecting others.

LA: Save My Spot is not a reliable system at this location. What is the point of calling it Save My Spot? You get bumped often without warning. Should be able to get text message alerts. Also, the staff at the City View (West 7th Avenue) location are quite rude & need to be retrained in client service. They do not make ANY effort to protect patients’ privacy. In addition, my husband attended this lab for blood work. He has prominent veins, yet the laboratory assistant dug multiple times in his vein with the same needle. He told her to stop as he felt like he was going into shock & she left him ALONE in the bleeding station. She didn’t even have him lay down. He was extremely pale when he arrived home. He never went back to get his blood work done! Completely unacceptable!
Mark McGregor: This clinic is pure chaos. There's an air of poorly-concealed hysteria from the moment you walk in. It's a small space, but the person working the check-in practically shouts everything so you know exactly why everyone is there. We were there with 15 mins to spare but there was no reception person and we waited so long our check in expired and they would not give us our spot. So upsetting!! We went to the west Broadway life labs location and it was MUCH better
David Bremner: This place is a total disaster. I used the app to "save my spot" but when I got there they just stuck me at the back of the line and I waited an hour. It was my mother getting the bloodwork done and she's recovering from a severe stroke so the wait was terrible for her.Staff didn't care... were rude and dismissive (if they even talked to you at all).The waiting room has people jam packed with no social distancing.
EpicSocksProductions: Check in ladies weren’t especially friendly but they were by no means rude, they were efficient and that’s how I like it! The online check-in was great, I spent a total of 20 minutes in there including the initial wait time and tests.
Karen Swaffield: The front desk staff are rude and unhelpful. Their paperwork seems to be more important than the client standing in front of them.
Sunmin Park: The front desk was short and unfriendly. She also doesn’t appear effective using email when searching for requisition. Even with “save my spot” it was a much longer wait than estimate. Other LifeLabs are much more efficient, fast at processing and friendly.

I booked an appointment ahead of time - I think that's the trick to getting processed quickly.*** I saw a complaint by other reviewers - yes, indeed, the receptionist is also the person drawing blood. But their office is small and presumably, the lab must limit the number of people in the office at any given point due to COVID-19. The staff were working very hard, multi-tasking and were efficient. I was also treated very nicely, both by the receptionist and the other lady who did my tests. No complaints about my experience.***I contrast this with my drop in experience using SaveMySpot at a different location a few months ago. I was waiting in the blood drawing room for over 20 minutes.
Mo Fel: Slow service. More concerned with shuffling paper than servicing clients or drawing a blood sample. This is what you get with a monopoly.
Mike Kim: Don't go here. They had one person doing everything from reception to the actual testing. The receptionist actually turned me around to another location. I am at the Yaletown location now and they are way more organized.
Wednesday Addams: Definitely understaffed and rushed. Lady that took my blood was nice. Lady that did my ecg was nice.They told me to put urine sample in cupboard after I'm done I was in testing room. Could not find cupboard. Receptionist says put in washroom!. I can't find washroom because it's my first time there. Receptionist gets short at me and grabs my pee container out of my hand. They should just point out to patients where washroom is before spazzing on them.

Leonie Adler: The star is for the staff that put up with working in this lab. Understaffed and too small for the amount of bookings. Always late for BOOKED appts. Yesterday was 45 minutes late. Staff state bookings are every 5 mins. Only 2 rooms. Lifelabs knows this. Suggestion: book appts further apart so staff dont have to put up with disgruntled patients.....and hire more staff!!!

Christopher Wulff: Without a doubt one of the most poorly run operations I’ve ever had to frequent. An appointment-only place where I’ve never been seen less than 45 minutes after my appointment time. If it weren’t so much more conveniently located to me than the others, I would never go here again.
Yoony: I felt the facility could use a really good cleaning. Lots of dust and dirt on the chair and room where blood is drawn. Surprised at the level of cleanliness (or lack thereof) particularly in this hyper-sanitized way of life lately.
Scott Harrison: First off the staff are lovely and incredibly hard working. They do an amazing job considering the conditions they’re working under. It’s like something out of a Dickens novel. There is no receptionist so the two technologists are run off their feet. It’s incredible to see. Not only are they checking patients in, they’re answering the phone and answering questions on top of their main job.The office is cramped and rundown. LifeLbs should be ashamed.
Dan Berk: Incredibly understaffed, and the staff they do have there is INCREDIBLY rude. i dont think i have ever heard them say please once.if your appt is at 2pm, dont expect to get into the booth until minimum 230, 245, they are so so so so so behind its ridiculous.will never go to this one again and i will be making a formal complaint to lifelabs.
Neil Bailey: An appointment is scheduled for every 5 minutes but the check in process takes longer than that for each person. So they are always behind and the waiting room is full of disgruntled people who have made appointments which are not honoured on time. This is a corporate problem rather than the fault of the staff - it is under-staffed and unfortunately that means the staff get the brunt of people’s dissatisfaction.
Marie Bomber: Been here a few time now: they have never been remotely on time, space is visibly dirty, staff is rude, the phone never gets answered, and usually no one is even at reception or acknowledges your arrival/their delays. Also don’t have masks out, despite them being required.For a medical center, this is all pretty concerning.Edited to say the young guy who actually did the blood draw was great; fast, efficient, friendly.
Asuka Forest: Even with an appointment, you wait 30 min or so. I don't find it but my child finds the staff to be rather blunt and at time rude. But I suspect they are very overworked.

David Brown: Absolutely brutal. They were running 20 minutes late for my scheduled appointment, and when I had the nerve to ask politely how much longer they were incredibly rude and annoyed and said it would be another 20 minutes. No excuse to be so off schedule and rude.
Emmy: for bookings only you expect to be served within a 10-15 min period max of apt time - severely unstaffed. Staff is short & cold. Would never book again.
