Melanie Gagnon: I had been dealing with Linde Canada In Vancouver( formerly Praxair ) for years. Generally, I was a happy customer. The location was close to my business so exchanging tanks was easy.However, I wasn't paying attention to the invoicing and somehow i was being charged for two 50 pounds tank rentals since October 2020 due to an employee error. It was put into their system that i had picked up two, when we only have ever exchanged one tank for another.As a small business owner who has her hands full during the pandemic, the double charge slipped past me, and one of the employees informed me I was being charged for two tanks for nearly a year. She had sent out the details to head office to look into what happened and to get a refund. It took MONTHS for them to get back to me. I had called and followed up several times. Finally i got a call back letting me know that i would get the credit for the overcharge backdated but only for 3 months ( the over charge was for almost and entire year.). I was not satisfied for this, and i had argued that it would only be right for them to reverse all of the over charges. I was a long time customer and did business with them regularly. I never heard back from them again. I have recently stopped using their services and switched to Messer Gas. Their pricing is a lot better for tank rentals.

JBo: The “Customer service” counter is suffering, if it’s open. I’ve never seen an employee behind this counter smile & as a Safeway customer, feel like a burden to the disgruntled employee when I’ve approached the counter for a refund or lottery. Most recently an employee rolled their eyes at me in the queue holding lottery tickets then slammed the ‘Next Cashier’ sign in front of me. Safeway, you can do all the remodeling you like, but if customers aren’t at minimum treated politely & made to feel welcome (& the products, particularly the bakery, are still outdated) you’ll never make any overhaul a success. Recommend: the self checkout.
