Erin C: We worked with Jennifer at Umbrella Events for month-of wedding coordination. I can't say enough good things about our experience working with Jen! Overall, having month-of coordination was absolutely money well-spent. Jen helped us stay organized and on track leading up to the wedding. On the day before the wedding and day of, she completely took over wedding set up and did an AMAZING job! Her coordination on the day of the wedding was seamless -- she was organized and communicated very well, and made the day seem like it was effortless (although I know just how much work she put into it to make it feel that way for us). I wholeheartedly recommend Jen and Umbrella Events for your wedding coordination.

Mitchell Hoyle: Honestly where do I even begin with how much my partner and I loved Jennifer Schafer and the whole Umbrella Events crew! We had interviewed a few candidates for planning our wedding ahead of time, but as soon as we started up our call with Jennifer it was an instant connection. She is so kind, patient, and positive, and always makes your ideas feel heard while also lending her professional experience to enhance it ten fold. Not to mention all of this was done during the pandemic where we were working with a lot of what-if's and constraints of what we could and could not do. Still, the day turned out amazing, and Jennifer was SEAMLESS in her ability to coordinate and make everything flow perfectly. To be honest I barely saw her during the wedding day except when she needed to be seen and I mean that in the best way possible. It was truly a wedding without hiccups or mishaps and I attribute that to Jennifer and all the work she put into making it special for us. As a queer couple, this is a very LGBT+ friendly company, and I could not recommend them, and Jennifer, enough to make your wedding day the best day you've ever had.

Soooo detail oriented, kept her cool throughout, executed on our vision so perfectly. I still have no idea if there were any mishaps or issues on the day of!!! Even my guests were complimenting her and how gentle, yet effective her style was. If you’re looking for a responsive, detail oriented, and really kind planner then book umbrella! Worth every penny.

Not only is she fun, super down to earth but this woman knows how to pull off a seamless event! She is an absolute pleasure to work with and pulled off the exact vision I was after for our wedding day. She responded in a timely fashion to all my emails, accommodated calls and in-person meetings when needed. I was a stress-free bride on my wedding day thanks to Ariel and her exceptional organizational skills. Noemi Pomerleau: (EDIT: Updated following response from Umbrella Events)We got married last June, so it's been a few months, but every time I think about the wedding reception, I still feel frustrated by our experience.Hiring a day-of coordinator was almost certainly overkill for our small event, but I was planning it mostly alone, and didn't want to spend my day fussing and worrying over small details, so at the last minute I decided to hire someone to help, purely for peace of mind. In the end, though, a few crucial details got missed anyway.We were assigned Jennifer, and in the lead-up to the wedding she was great. She arranged pick-up for our wedding cake and other decor items, she helped me negotiate with the venue, she was super responsive in her emails. I was beyond thrilled and sure we were going to have a great experience with her.The day of the reception, though, things didn't go so smoothly.First, Jennifer showed up as scheduled to meet me at the venue, where I had dropped off a bunch of decor and prizes and my shoes and dress so I could change later. I told her my husband was going to arrive soon with desserts and other things and would need help unloading his car. I thought I had been clear, and Jennifer was just going to park her car and come back to meet him. I went off to hair and makeup, I texted my husband that she'd be there to meet him. All seemed well.When he showed up, nobody was there. He had to unload the entire car of all the materials and desserts, walking from two blocks away and making him a sweaty mess in the process. (EDIT: In the response, Jennifer went to lunch & remembers telling me that, but we had some crossed wires because she didn't know he needed help, & I didn't know she was at lunch!) Guests started arriving shortly after. Jennifer and her assistant helped hand out drink tickets, and we seemed to be back on track. The first couple of hours went flawlessly - Jennifer was probably super bored, with things going so well.Then, speeches started. The audio was WAY too low, and my mother-in-law was barely audible, even to me, who was sitting right next to her. Guests in the back kept talking over her, and I could see people visibly straining to hear. Despite me asking, at no point did somebody turn up the audio. I couldn't do anything, being pinned up at the front next to the speech-giver. I was very upset that Jennifer didn't step in.Worse, though, was when dancing was due to start. After our first dance, which had some audio hiccups at first (to be expected, as the first audio switch of the night) the audio got turned down, and when the party playlist came on it was nearly muted. A crowd of us shouted for the audio to be turned up, but nobody did it. My husband left to get the sound turned up, but - predictably - he got stopped by 15 people on his way. It took 20 minutes for the sound to get turned up, and by the time my husband returned almost an hour later, people were done dancing. He'd put together a custom mix for the party and was hugely invested in the music, so he was devastated. It's still the first thing that comes up when we remember that day, because he was so upset by that stolen moment. I was disappointed that after the issues with the first dance, nobody had been double-checking the audio or paying attention during the switch.Finally, at around 10pm, Jennifer came to tell me she was leaving. She'd never mentioned she'd be leaving early (three hours before the event was due to end). I was in shock. (EDIT: Since my review they clarified this was because we opted out of tear-down, which makes sense, but I wish it had been on the event schedule.)Overall our wedding was a huge success, but after paying $1500 for a simple job, I expected more. It was disappointing that these small mistakes and miscommunications had such big impacts on our memories of the day, when that was exactly what I was trying to avoid.(EDIT: Upped the rating to 3 stars to better reflect all the work Jennifer did in the lead-up to the event, despite the misses on the day of.)

She went above and beyond, and we are so grateful and appreciative. We had a very specific vision of what we wanted for our big day and not only did Jill execute and deliver everything seamlessly, but she also foresaw any potential problems and dealt with them head on, without us even knowing! She is the most organized and meticulous planner and her experience was a tremendous asset. She always went the extra mile for us, and it was a great feeling to have a planner that has your back and fights for you tooth and nail. This is 100% Jill and her work ethic is unmatched. Our guests were blown away by everything, and we credit this to Jill!

From the very first meeting up to when the last vendor left our venue, Jessie was impeccable with her level of detail and organization. Without Jessie, the wedding never would have gone as smooth as it did. She really went above and beyond from contacting all of the vendors to helping out set up all of the decorations. Her eye for detail and design is excellent! She helped us with transporting all of our decorations to the venue and made sure that everything was set up in the exact way that we wanted it to! After the ceremony, Jessie helped us transport the florals from the arch to our sweetheart table and made it look immaculate! These are just the few things that shes done. Don Reyes: My better half and I have experience in organizing events, but we wanted to keep wedding planning as stress-free as possible. We chose the Wedding Day Essentials package and we were paired with Cayenne - we knew we were in great hands from the first conversation as she demonstrated equal parts of calm, humour, and the willingness to learn about her clients. On top of this is her deadly precision in knowing what to do/say and when with ourselves and our vendors and we realized just how lucky we were to have her on our side.From reviewing contracts and providing commentary, to keeping us on track with timelines and deadlines, to always thinking about the "what if..?" or the "how about...?" situations and scenarios, the planning process was pretty darn low stress and this was definitely the case during the big day.Our wedding was approximately 125 guests - Cayenne and her assistants made the entire day FLAWLESS! We were ahead of schedule in cocktail hour, group photographs, and the tea ceremony to the point where we were able to get an extra 90 minutes with our photographers before the sun set!

Jessie was our wedding day coordinator and we cannot commend her enough for her professionalism, responsiveness, patience, and attention to detail. Erica W: We first had the pleasure of meeting Jessie back in 2019 for our 2020 wedding and right off the bat, we knew we wanted Jessie to coordinate our big day!In our initial meeting she offered so much advice and gave us a true idea of how much our ‘ideal’ wedding would cost. We left the meeting feeling like we received so much helpful information and felt that she deeply cared about how successful our wedding was.Due to Covid, we ended up having to postpone our wedding twice. I remember back in March of 2020, when everything was shutting down and I was stressing out over what to do with the wedding, I saw an email from Jessie telling us she already contacted our venue to see if there was another day available the following year. She also checked with all our other vendors to see what their availability was as well. Despite it being a very emotional time having to postpone, Jessie's proactive and sensitive approach to the way she assisted us was truly amazing.We finally were able to have our wedding in July 2022 and throughout the 3 years, Jessie was always so responsive and quick with emails. Planning a wedding can be very stressful, especially when it's a 250 person event, but Jessie was so personable and easy to talk to, that she made planning our wedding so enjoyable and fun.Thanks to Jessie, we truly had our fairytale wedding. I can’t say enough good things about Jessie and I would recommend her to anyone!

Emma V: Matthew and I hired Alexa with Dreamgroup for day of coordination for our wedding. She was a referral from a friend who used her services in the past, and boy are we happy we chose to work with Alexa and Dreamgroup! From the beginning of my 2 year wedding planning process, Alexa was open to any emails or phone calls that I had, and sent a very comprehensive checklist of things to do up until the wedding day, which I used “religiously”. During our planning meeting a month before the wedding, Alexa was super organized, discussing and finalizing little pieces I hadn’t even thought of, and made sure to follow up with any vendors if necessary after our discussion. Leading up to and on the day of the wedding, Alexa and her team were extremely organized and made the environment super relaxed and stress free. I know how much was going on behind the scenes with Alexa coordinating the vendors, the venue, etc., but based off the way she acted, you would never know! She was extremely relaxed and it was fun to laugh and smile with her to ease my nerves as well. Everything went super smooth on our wedding, and I can say so much of that was because of Alexa. I couldn’t recommend Alexa and Dreamgroup MORE - they are incredible!

Lynita White: Hiring Alexa at DreamGroup was the best thing we could have done for our wedding! Alexa is professional, but also has a funny and sweet personality that makes her so easy to get along with. She was a welcome presence at our rehearsal dinner and wedding for this very reason! Alexa is so easy to communicate with from beginning to end, and she was also able to take complete control on the wedding day to make everything run seamlessly. One of the biggest priorities of our wedding was to make sure that both we and our guests did not feel like we were working, and Alexa made sure that we achieved that and more. She did so much work behind the scenes to make feel pampered on the day. She made sure all VIP guests were fed before and during the wedding, ensured that we were on time in the limo and shuttle, and kept the timeline of the day running smoothly. Alexa wasn’t hired to decorate the event, but went above and beyond with setting up our personal belongings - the set up looked better than I could have ever imagined.There were a few mini emergencies on our day (venue front door locked when we were supposed to arrive! Difficulties corralling guests!), but Alexa handled them easily. She is someone to depend on for sure.All of our other vendors loved working with Alexa. We also had guests taking Alexa’s business card at our wedding because they plan to hire her for their events! I would love to see her at a future event, and if we need any events planned in the future, Alexa will be the first person I reach out to. I highly recommend hiring a month-of coordinator if you plan to get married, and if you can, you should definitely work with Alexa.

Chloe & Jose: We are so glad that we picked DreamGroup out of all the wedding planners that we shortlisted - and even more glad that we got partnered up with Alexa to plan out Day Of Coordination.From the first appointment to the very last item to be packed up at the end of our wedding day, Alexa was there to make sure every single detail of what we wanted to do was well executed.The whole process of planning was very smooth starting with DreamGroup's resource guide recommendation of all possible vendors that couples can use. From there, planning the wedding was easy and Alexa was accessible and knowledgable when it came to bouncing off ideas during our meetings. During the Wedding Day, it was such a breeze working with Alexa and her assistant. All our vendors were informed on every single detail of our special day and Alexa and her team handled it all. Deborah Hong: We were looking for a month-of coordinator as we had done a lot of the preliminary planning and booking and wanted someone to take the lead at the end so we can enjoy the time with each other and our families. After meeting Cayenne in January, we knew she was the right person for our wedding as she was so friendly and very organized. The questionnaire was a great way for us to see where we were with our planning and see what was still missing. Once she got all our previous planning down, she was on top of all our wedding details and made everything seamless.The meetings and check-ins starting two months before the wedding were perfect as it allowed us to get any last minute tasks completed and really helped us be stress-free leading up to the big day. On the day of our wedding we were really able to enjoy the day as we knew that everything would run smoothly because of her. She checked in with us throughout the day and made sure we were happy and taken care of.Having Cayenne and DreamGroup as our coodinators was hands down one of the BEST decisions we made when planning our wedding! I have told everyone they need to have a coordinator for their wedding and highly recommended Cayenne.

Claire Demner: We worked with Olivia Woolwich with DreamGroup and she was amazing. We had a COVID wedding, so got bumped twice, but Olivia was available throughout the process, helped us move the date (twice) and then once we actually got married in 2022 she was exceptional. She made the process so easy for us, to the point where multiple people commented on how stress free I was. Olivia helped us with arranging everything the day of, making sure we didn't forget anything, set up, take down, as well as was fantastic in helping with our decor. She was truly a pleasure to work with and we cannot recommend her enough.

We were finally able to have our dream wedding at Brock House on August 6th with our full complement of guests.I am writing to you to sing the praises of your planner Jill Bryan. I cannot say enough great things about her calm and reassuring presence. Jill met us ahead of time at our home and took photos and notes of all our decor plans. I knew my vision would be recreated well. We met her at our rehearsal two days before the wedding, where her amazing SUV managed to hold all our decor plus 100 wrapped tea cups! Once everything was loaded up, we knew we could relax, knowing it was all in such capable hands. The day of the wedding could not have gone more smoothly. The bride's room was all set up and waiting when we arrived, and so was Jill! The decor was set up exactly as I had envisioned. Jill was able to quietly keep everything and everyone on track and was always there when you needed her. Not a single item was missed or forgotten. I think my favourite thing was Jill making sure I had plates of all three types of wedding cake! Thank you for making our day so flawless, Jill. We couldn't have done it without you!

Since our very first meeting about event’s details, they exactly understood the vision I had in mind for my wedding and they executed everything in a perfect way.I’m a very particular person with obsessive attention to details and not too easy to work with, and I had very specific ideas about a lot of things. I usually have to explain things many times or micromanage people to get the result I want but it was different with them. They inspired a lot of confidence and showed they can be relied on for everything I wanted. I had such a piece of mind for my wedding day and was very confident that they would manage everything perfectly and they did! During the process, always, I just had to say what I wanted once, and it would happen without me having to follow up or check on things or having to explain any further. We went through a lot of ups and downs and changed the date several times because of COVID, and eventually had to finalize everything in three weeks and I don’t think anyone else would’ve been able to put everything together in such a flawless way in such a short amount of time but this team. Jenny was always pleasant and very patient and responsive. She had a backup plan for everything! Soha is amazing and in our design meetings she led the process with professionalism and passion and great attention to details and she didn’t stop until we got the perfect result! My wedding day was a perfect day. Everything went great and exactly how we planned. Matin was very helpful and always available whenever I needed anything and took such a good care of me.I had A LOT of stuff at the venue, many things for my Sofreh, a lot of personal stuff for my hair and make up, cameras,extra jewelries, extra shoes, extra dresse, veil, cause I changed everything, many little items ... And matin packed everything at the end of the day. When I opened my suitcases the next day I was soo impressed with the way everything was packed individually and placed beautifully with such a care and attention (even the bobby pins!) and it was a perfect ending to a perfect process! If you have a wedding or an event, CD is definitely the way to go!

Our idea was for each of us to paint a canvas connected through a common theme, and the art work would then be displayed in our boardroom. Mixed Media was really accommodating to our ideas and tailored their team bonding activities to our needs. Miriam provided great feedback on how we should coordinate our paintings to make sure it would fit our office. Mixed Media also ensured a professional artist (Erica) was there to guide us and answer any questions we had about painting techniques. Even though we each had a different painting, Erica was patient and helped each of us walk through how we should approach our painting, and also provided tips on how to improve the painting. Miriam took photos throughout, and helped us capture some great moments. We also had food/drinks, and everything tasted great!
