The teachers have not only helped me develop my skills but have also been very supportive of my needs. The school has provided a conducive learning environment that has helped me grow and thrive. The curriculum has been well-structured, and I have learned so much from the program. The hands-on approach has allowed me to apply my knowledge and skills in actual practice, and I have already seen improvements in my understanding and reasoning to solve problems.I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to pursue a career in fashion. The staff and teachers are incredibly supportive, and the small group classes offer a unique learning experience that is hard to find elsewhere. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to continuing my journey with TFDA.

She has helped so much from the manufacturing off my product to new ideas and pointed me in the right direction so my company could stand a chance . She is amazing to deal with and has so much experience in her field. I am so grateful to have found her to show me the way.

The 6-week Launch Your Line course is the perfect launch-pad for anyone looking to start their fashion line. Sergine Zougbédé: I love the Cut!I took the Pattern Making and Assembling Technique certificate and learned so much! Intensive but I found exactly what I was looking for : a short, high-quality training that would give me industry-level pattern making skills. I am so happy with what I have learned. The teachers Joana and Chay are absolutely amazing! A lot of experience, supportive, but also they push you to give the best of yourself. The small class size allowed to have an almost one-on-one training. The staff there is also super nice and great! Great memories and connection with my classmates. I loved coming to the school and meet my school family :))Liza, the owner and dean of the school, is wonderful! She brings you amazing job opportunities and connections. She is always looking to connect you with people in the industry. I am so grateful!
Prathibha Nair: I got an opportunity to take up 2 full time courses at The Cut. The 14 weeks courses are perfectly designed to get the candidates prepared for the industry. We had a small class size which meant personalised attention to each student. I was mentored by Liza, Jason and Joanna, who are some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry. We also got a chance to exhibit our capsule collection at the end of the course which gave the confidence to step into the Vancouver fashion scene. Liza, the Dean at The Cut also greatly helped in finding placements after completion of the course.I would strongly recommend The Cut to anyone who wants to learn from the best!
Layne Thullner: When I first applied to The Cut I had minimal drawing skills but a real passion for design. I took the fashion illustration course hoping to understand more about the design industry and learn useful illustration skills… turns out that’s exactly what I got out of the course and more. Both of my instructors (Jason & Kelsey) were very well experienced in design as well as being understanding and patient when teaching new students. The environment in person at The Cut is very friendly for both new and experienced students. The staff is very encouraging and nice, while remaining professional and driven to get the best out of you. I never thought I’d be able to draw like I can now after taking the fashion illustration course at the cut. I definitely recommend The Cut to anyone wanting to get a start in the design industry.Liza is also very helpful and kind with her advice from her experience in the industry.
Jennifer Thompson: Get specific knowledge without an entire degree. This is huge for self taught creatives. Took the 2 week pattern making intensive and loved it! Small intimate class size. Teacher was patient, easy going and relaxed. I already had taught myself basic pattern making but was still intimidated and found pattern making a chore. This class was exactly what I needed to fill out my knowledge gaps and get comfortable with pattern making. We completed so many drafts within the 2 weeks and now when I make patterns at home, I am confident and actually enjoy it. Travelled from Texas to take the class and had so much fun exploring Vancouver and Canada for the first time. Definitely would take another course in the future.
Clair McLaughlin: I have thoroughly enjoyed my courses at the Cut, so much so that I now have an amazing new career path!
Toza Weave: Wonderful school! I enjoyed every minute and learned so much as classes are small and it feels like private lessons..Teacher always had time to repeat and explain anything we need. it felt like a little family! Thank you everyone!❤️
Cara Sumpton: We love The Cut! My business Apparelmark has hired grads from Liza's programs and we couldn't be more happy with her recommendations for future talent! The school will give you a full picture of what it's like working in the industry, and not only that, she will help you with next steps after, from finding employment opportunities to starting your own label. It just might change your life! 🙌🙌🙌♥️♥️♥️
Cutting Room Patterns: I took the Technical Pattern Making and Gerber Accumark Certificate programs at The Cut and would suggest this school to anyone wishing to improve their skills in fashion design and development. The school offers a wide range of options from beginner courses to advanced courses. I was able to get a job at The Cutting Room as a pattern maker through the school and am now able to apply the skills I learned there. Would definitely recommend! Very professional and wonderful teachers and staff!
Tee Kay: Admissions staff helpful, kind and great communications. Looking forward to in studio classes in January 2022.

Vancouver Sewing Classes: what do users think?
Kyle Archibald: If you're looking to learn how to sew, not make a reversible bag, not sit in a class with 10 people waiting for your turn to ask a question. Vancouver Sewing Classes is A+1 on 1 clearly communicated instruction, all the skills to sew literally anything & you leave with some pieces that you never thought you'd be sewing right out of the gate.I can't wait to go back and learn more
MIKAELA CRISOLOGO: Class was insightful, knowledgeable and on point on learning objectives. Entire atmosphere was laid-back and friendly; Chris and Stanley are great instructors.
Emeraude Bonard: I received a fine education in the precise-detailing of couture, and I am satisfied with the results as a debutante.
Ariel Pineda: It was a pleasure to meet Chris and Stan I learned sewing skills and knowledge of tailoring techniques. I told Chris I have zero experience on sewing. They taught me how to use sewing equipment and the understanding of garment construction and pattern making skills. I learned more than the basic on sewing, they taught me the sewing foundations. Chris and Stan are both amazing they are more than 5 stars to me. Thank you Chris and Stan I had a great time learning sewing.
Tone Batt: Stanley and Chris at VSC:Impeccable Service.Outstanding delivery of content. One on one teachings with gentle supervision.Much value for money. For the Novice, it is positivley challenging...for the knower, I suspect....priceless :)What a ride; for my ego, my boundaries, but most of all: my wish to make and create 3Wow you guys, you Rock !!!Thank you _/|_Tone
TJ .A: Vancouver sewing classes is a school with great knowledge. I’ve learned all the industrial sewing techniques that is required for the fashion industry. Great instructors one on one time to has a vision all learning experience.. highly recommend to anyone wanting to be a fashion designer.
Fereshteh Shojaei: I just had my first session with Chris today; I’m very satisfied with the choice I made coming to this class, they teach you everything you need to know and no wasting time, if you are looking to learn , this is definitely the right place. In just one session I learned so much( and keep in mind I took one of the basic courses yet it is just very complete ) They teach you each and every technique. I’m looking forward to learn more.
clarissa ty: I took the beginner sewing class with Chris and Stanley they were amazing. The program is very hands on and you learn how to do stitches, hems, zipper, pockets and many more! Honestly, I cant thank them enough on the things that I learned and I enjoyed every single class I had with both of them. They are very passionate, knowledgeable, friendly, patient and one of a kind! So, if you are interested to learn how to sew. Take one of the programs they offer and you will be surprised on the amount of knowledge and confidence you will get after the program.
Fiona Wong: I completed the Sewing Techniques Short Program and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to sew either professionally or as a hobby! I started with no experience and was provided with everything I needed – from a sewing machine, to materials/tools, and the bestest instructors in Stenly and Chris – to successfully complete 4 practice and 2 final garments. Stenly was my primary instructor and he was patient, personable and encouraging throughout. The program was a great experience!
Bhakti Purandare: I am an IT professional having a keen interest in the fashion industry. But I always wondered where and how I would start from to understand the potentials of my interest. I started with the basic Sewing classes at VSC and it turned out to be a great entry point because in 6 classes I made 4 samples along with 1 skirt and 1 shirt for myself. I will recommend VSC for many reasons like you get one-on-one training, you make 6 garments in 6 classes, there is flexibility in time, and last but not least my instructors Stanely and Chris. They both are very humble and perfectionists, they teach you professional skills for sewing garments.
Linda Santoso: I had a wonderful first class experience with Stanley and Chris. The class is 1 on 1 , so you get all the attention you need to improve on your weaknesses. I had zero experience in sewing and now at least i know a little bit about it. You get one sewing machine to start with the class so that you could practice at home, and that was also a plus++. In addition, I was pretty slow but they made sure I could still get my project done by adding extra classes. I am definitely looking forward to take next classes with them, can't wait to meet wonderful people like them!
Dami H: I had inherited an old sewing machine and wanted to learn how to use it properly. I searched for various sewing classes and stumbled upon Vancouver Sewing Classes. I was a bit overwhelmed and excited with the various classes VSC had to offer that I didn't know where to begin. So I called and talked to Chris. I explained to him what I wanted to learn and he recommended I take the Professional Sewing Techniques Short Program. This program consists of six 3 hours classes that focus on the basic sewing techniques such as stitches & hems, seams, pockets & invisible zippers, sleeve plackets, cuffs and collars, waistbands, buttonholes, buttons, and closures. As a bonus for signing up for this program, I received a brand new sewing machine in the first class and Chris went over every single component of the machine and taught me how to use it and maintain it for the homework assignments. Yes, there will be homework after every class. Don't fret, they are fun homework. You'll receive extra fabric to practice the skills you learned during class, which inturn will help you on your garment-making project. I completed two garments by the end of the program that covered every sewing technique taught. The best thing about it is you'll get to wear the garments! I had an amazing experience learning from both Chris and Stenly. They are patient, knowledgeable, and a trove of industry wisdom. You can ask them anything about the fashion industry and they will have an answer for you. If you are searching for a sewing class, program or just want to learn how to sew, give VSC a call and talk to Chris, he will guide you to your sewing journey. Forget about the one day workshop or group classes, at VSC you'll get one-on-one lessons from either Chris or Stenly and you will have an unbelievable time! This program was exactly what I was looking for and more. Thank you Chris and Stenly and I look forward taking more classes with both of you.
Patricia V: I have been sewing for most of my life, but never learned how to professionally craft clothing. I had tried taking college sewing programs in the past, but was always confused and did not learn the basic principles that I needed to succeed.Chris and Stenly were enthusiastic and kind from the moment I walked into my first class. Not only did I learn basic sewing techniques, I was able to bring in items that I wanted to create, and learn how to master them properly.Chris and Stenly’s enthusiasm and encouragement gave me the confidence and knowledge that I needed. I particularly found the one on one instruction worked well for me.The Vancouver sewing school is a very special place, where you will learn and be encouraged to succeed.I am already planning on signing up for another course. This is my new happy place. My only regret is that I didn’t study with them sooner.
Daryl C. Hyun: I had been wanting to learn sewing for several ideas I accumulated over time. When I tried to learn from makerspaces, but it was super hassle to sign up for a membership, and availability of classes is not good. Vancouver sewing classes runs like a studio where a student gets a full access to all kinds of machines and learning experiences. Very hands-on experiential learning with homework as well. Chris and Stanley are very kind and eager to share their skills, tips and knowhows. Also, the facility is very nice that a student gets to learn how to use industry sewing machine & steam iron, home sewing machine, serger, large table, etc. and complimentary snacks and water. My etude is on insta @guineapigmall :) Highly recommend to those who wanna learn sewing and making garment!!
Sanoe Lubensky: When I came across Chris and his sewing programs, I was immediately willing to try because of all the positive reviews. I’m happy to say that the reviews are no joke. After signing up for the short program, I was taught by two of the best sewing instructors, Chris and Stenly :) I learned so much from the short program in such an incredibly fast time, and I got to take home a new sewing machine. After completing the short program, I signed up for the womenswear long program, and it’s been the best decision ever; it is crazy (in a good way) how much I’m learning in each class. Chris is the best teacher; he is teaching me to be so detailed and precise with my sewing. I have gone from 0 knowledge of sewing to a very proficient sewer within just a few months. I’m also even more pleased because with the long program, I got to take home a new industrial sewing machine, a new full body-form, a serger, a cover stitcher, a factory grade ironing board, and a factory grade steam iron. Take home and keep :) The program is so helpful, and both Chris and Stenly are truly dedicated to helping their students be the best! And they have become lifelong friends. I have so many binders full of samples, so many sewing tools, and so much knowledge about fashion design. The program is truly 5 stars and better than anything you’ll be able to find anywhere. Thank you Chris and Stenly for being the best! :) I will truly miss going to class when my program is over.
Z Ali: Just completely “wowed” by my experience at VSC and with Chris and Stenly! You guys are absolutely amazing. Your passion for the craft comes through in your lessons. I searched for months before I found your school and I am so happy I did! The way you design your lessons and your teaching skills surpassed all my expectations! Thank you! Looking forward to taking more classes over the coming year.
chan mavis lok yiu: Its a incredible experience. They are both good teachers which really teach you useful sewing skills. They provide different programs and help with your assignments.Very patient and friendly,Best place ever
Z T: What on earth would possess someone to pay $1k for a short sewing program and drive over 1000km round trip (5 hours each way), PER CLASS, to do it? Well, we did it. Because this is a unique program. Nothing remotely close to this exists in our own region. Because the instructors are excellent. Because my teen took their portfolio home to my mom, who has been sewing for years, and she gasped because the quality was better than anything my mom could do. Because this has been the only time I can remember where my teen will actually sit and do something for 3 hours at a time, not only without complaining, but walking away from each session encouraged and inspired. Even when mistakes were made and things had to be redone. If you break the cost down per hour, it’s similar to the cost of group horseback riding lessons in the lower mainland. Only this experience is 1:1, they send you home with a sewing machine and supplies worth hundreds of dollars, and you have a very useful lifelong skill set. Once you master the basics you can customize the classes to your specific interests, too. For us, that means corsetry is next.We are temporarily recuperating from the frequent long distance drives and look forward to continuing. Thank you guys for such an awesome (and useful) experience! 🙏
Addie Tinholt: I took the 6 session intro to sewing classes and loved it. Very in-depth, but also understandable and easy to grasp. Chris and Stenly are great instructors, not only thorough, but patient and inspiring. I can’t wait for my next course with them.
Dexter Chaisson: Learning with Chris and Stanley was a great experience. All the programs are very hands on and you get working on a project right away. They have great knowledge of the industry and the 1 on 1 aspect makes it easy to learn. Definitely check them out!
Karen Russell-Barley: I just completed the beginner short sewing program and my sewing skills have improved greatly. I'm kicking myself for not taking this class years ago. Although I have been able to sew clothes for myself I have spent years avoiding anything difficult. I now feel more confident knowing I can sew in a precise manner. Chris and Stanley were a pleasure to learn from. I liked that Chris has been in the industry for years and is a wealth of knowledge. The classes were very organised, structured and professional. There was flexibility in the day and time I could take my classes and that worked well with my schedule.

Raji S: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueSheila is the best!!
Karin Hatch: I have had the best experience learning the process and skills of the architecture of sewing. From pattern drafting to sizing and hand sewing, I am working to create from sketch to wearable clothing. Sheila meets you where you are and elevates your competency, correctly. I appreciate how she cuts through 'the noise' to provide the right learning environment for me to grow to an advanced level in an inspired personalized way.
Lauren B: I've been seeing Sheila for lessons over the past year and always have a great time in the studio. She is great leading the learning and design process and is always open to ideas and questions. I always love the conversation and her professional demeanour when communication via phone, email or in person. I'll be taking lessons here for a long time!
Eric Corbeil: Sheila and her staff are amazing, friendly, and incredibly skilled instructors. I have been attending classes for almost a year now and have enjoyed every moment! I would recommend her classes for anyone from inexperienced beginners to experienced designers/tailors looking for help and inspiration.
annabelle burridge: I have had lessons with sheila for coming up to three years on and off and it was one of the best decisions I could have made! She has such a lovely warm professional manner and her expertise with drafting and garment construction are incredible. Ive gained more skills from coming here than i ever could have hoped for. All of her employees are lovely and the space is great and in a convenient location ( during the pandemic ive also had some great virtual lessons) thank you for all your help sheila!
Anita Early: I have been taking sewing/drafting lessons with Sheila Wong since April 2018. The process began with me relearning "how to sew", after many years of being away from a sewing machine. I started out by constructing a very cute pink mini-skirt, and over the last 2 years I have blossomed into drafting clothing for myself and my daughter. Sheila has taught me so much over these 2 years....and I am so grateful. She's a very talented fashion designer with an exquisite eye for detail. She's organized, punctual, kind and a patient instructor. I admire her talent for her creative abilities as well as for her keen entrepreneurship.I always have fun with Sheila when I'm in her Yaletown studio...one night we even shared a glass of rose on a cold snowy December Friday. We laugh, chat and also work hard. She is generous with the use of her professional sergers, and other equipment/supplies in her studio.Being able to sew, design and work with fabric is very fulfuilling for me. Wearing the clothes I have made gives me a lot of joy, especially when someone asks me "where I bought it?".I recommend Sheila Wong Fashion Design Studio highly to anyone who has an inkling to get creative.
Trevor Dogwin: Sheila Wong is a great teacher and her studio space is exceptional. I have been taking one on one classes since June of 2020 each time building on practical applications of sewing, pattern drafting as well as understanding garment construction. One of the main reasons I was drawn to SWFDS is that she listened to what I wanted to accomplish -Once we got past some basics in sewing she tailored each lesson towards my goal.Another thing to point out, especially in the current environment, is that her studio is SPOTLESS and she takes great care in cleaning and disinfecting. With all that being said, I highly recommend Sheila Wong if you are interested in learning all things sewing.
Claire Newton: Sheila's sewing lessons have gone above and beyond what I expected! One of my dreams was to learn how to draft my own patterns but I have always been intimidated by the process. I feel so much more confident now. I love Sheila's teaching method, she gives detailed instructions (with handouts!), demos, and homework which keeps me motivated to continue sewing in between lessons. I can't recommend enough!
Vivian Lee: Sheila has a very efficient way of making sewing easy and fun, I have attended a full year at her studio, and I have learned a lot of skills and it has always been a very positive experience for me. Her studio is well-equipped, and well organized, the atmosphere is relaxing and full of energy. I highly recommend having a one on one lesson with her!
Barb Lawrie: I have been a student of Shelia's for over 3 years. She has advanced my skills considerably to the point that I am now able to design, draft and construct my own garments. She has the innate ability to know when to step in and help and when to step back. The studio is beautiful and well set up with everything you could need. The staff are incredibly supportive and Shelia is stellar in all ways. I strongly recommend them
Diane Haarstad: I have always wanted to design clothing and create my own patterns.Together Sheila and I have brought dozens of my designs to life. I thought I was an experienced seamstress but the techniques I have learned from Sheila has taken me to a new level. So now, not only can I create patterns, adjust and adapt commercial patterns but I am also a more efficient seamstress. I enjoy my craft more than ever. Sheila's studio is a magical place where my life long dream of being a designer has come true. If you are even mildly interested in clothing design I highly recommend you invest in lessons from Sheila and her amazing team.
Sujitha Shivajothi: Looking for a place to learn how to sew? Look no further than Sheila Wong Fashion and Design Studio! I have been taking lessons here for just over a year and the wealth of knowledge I have gained is priceless.I had the privilege of starting my journey with Deanna. I would recommend her to everyone from beginners to professionals.

La Movida Fashion Design Academy: what do users think?
Cupcake Baby: This was my daughter’s first sewing lesson. She enjoyed it so much. She loves it. Thanks 😊
Laura Elgie: I did the intro to sew course and it was so much fun!! I had no prior experience sewing and am a classic over thinker but it was really easy to follow and a really empowering experience. I will definitely be back to learn to sew more!
Courtenay Gee: My girlfriends and I went to La Movida for the tote bag workshop and we had the best time! The class size was small and our instructor Samantha was really attentive, patient and knowledgeable. There were nice fabric colours to choose from and our bags turned out really cute. I would recommend this studio to anyone wanting to learn how to sew.
Alexa Bevis: Such a fun beginners class. Will definitely be coming back for more!
Eamon Lefebvre: Well that was awesome. Great value, exceptional instruction, and I walked away with a high quality bag that I made myself. Highly recommend.
Angel C: I took the intro class for adults at La Movida Sewing and it was such an awesome experience. The instructors were very informative and engaging, and the instructions they provided were clear and precise. Our class made a tote bag that we got to bring home which is so beautiful. The fabrics they provided (which is included in the price of the class) was amazing, and the sewing machines were all in amazing working condition. I'd highly recommend them if you're looking to pursue a fun little hobby.
Ella LV: I recently had my birthday party at La Movida, and it was the best birthday party ever! Our instructor was Laurie, and she was hilarious, passionate, and an excellent teacher. Most of us were beginner sewers, and she made the process of learning to sew incredibly fun and simple. This was an unforgetable and creatively enriching party, and I can't recommend this studio enough. I plan on coming back to take adult sewing lessons very soon!
Lauren Wong: I took the Intro to Sew class for adults and it was a great experience! Fun, informative, and easier than I expected. And I got to completely make something of my own and take it home!
Nalie Nilson: They don’t have enough experience and knowledge! It’s a scam
Nil A: Was not happy taking class here, they do not have enough knowledge to teach you how to sew and create what you love!
Debby DeJager: My daughters' have both loved taking classes here! Oldest even had a Birthday party, but I really loved the opportunity that I had to book some sewing time for MYSELF. Staff here is so knowledgeable and I really enjoyed the chance to work from some vintage patterns!! What a wonderful space, and it feels so wonderful to just get lost doing something creative and have guidance for the bumpy parts. Great Space!
R “Bro's Sis' Bro” W: This a good place if you want to learn how to sew. Be prepared to have to pay hidden fees (they were listed but weren't obvious at all) and lots of money. We complained to the owner about not being upfront about the cost but in the end, it's all about making the extra money for them, I guess. Kind of sad.
Patrick Burns: Not a fountain of advice.
Ramen Noodles: Sets you up really well for a life skill that's quite underappreciated.
Maria Gruschzak: My 9 year old daughter LOVES this place. They have great instructors and she feels proud of what she has accomplished. We highly recommend!
Gayle N: I finally, happily, created something that doesn't look like I made it. Thank you, Laurie.
Elle R.: Lovely newly expanded sewing studio that runs fantastic programs for kids, as well as adult classes. Took part in a beginners sewing course for adults. The 3h Intro to Sewing is great both for beginners and people needing a refresher, and you get to make a sturdy and fashionable canvas bag to take home. The beginner’s class that follows is also great fun! The shop owner is an experienced self-taught sewing genius with great character, and she employs lovely school-taught young women to help her teach. Their classes are very reasonably priced and you can pick any material from their shop or bring your own to sew with.
Cheylene Rondpre: Amazing, I had such a great time at the classes and am an infinitely better sewing since. HIGHLY recommend.
Lori Bamber: My daughter and I had so much fun learning basic skills while sewing a very nice tote bag. Our instructor was an gifted teacher and laugh-out-loud funny. It made a great birthday gift/celebration.
Paige Roeske: Creative, Fun and Vibrant Fashion Studio - I am so thrilled to work with such a creative and innovative set of Fashion Designers at La Movida Studios. All the instructors are professional and genuinely love what they do. The recent Designer BootCamps allow students to develop and pursue a collection of 5 looks. This includes lessons on illustration, sewing and simple pattern drafting. This is a perfect edition to La Movida's current classes!
DJ RockStarGirl: I think la movida is the best class ever i had a few classes there i have done a button purse, pillow, tunic, dress, beanbag and s backpack i thought i would never be able to make any of these but laurie gave me a helping hand so i thank you laurie from you know who :)

Vancouver Institute of Media Arts (VanArts): what do users think?
Deepesh sachdev: Female Respresenatative of vanart india was mean, rude, disrecptful. No Apology came from van art. was also asked to take down my bad review about van art for being brutal honest over social media in threatful way.
Prachi Bapat: I recently completed my Web development and Interactive design program from VanArts. It was an intense program. The professors are really supportive and give you ample of time answering your questions. Classes are small. You get lots of professional advice in your one to one sessions. Its a very hands on, project-based program were you get to learn from your professors who are experts in this industry.I would totally recommend this program to anyone who want to pursue their career in Web development industry.
Lisa Millerd: I took the web development course in 2021-2022 and had an excellent experience. It's a very hands on, project-based program where you work closely with your instructors who are professionals in the industry. Classes are small and you get lots of one-on-one time with instructors when you want to work through a problem or ask for professional advice.
sachi goto: I completed the Web Development and Interactive Design program in August 2022. You will definitely benefit from this program if you can dedicate yourself for one year and put your best effort into all the projects. This program is intense so you can easily fall behind if you are not committed to this program but you will gain a comprehensive understanding of web development, from UX/UI to SEO to multiple different programming languages if you dedicate yourself to this program. The head of the department, John Manoar, is dedicated to teaching us and constantly reminds us to ask questions if we are unclear. He is very approachable. He is up-to-date about technology and you get to learn cutting-edge technology from him.The way John taught us programming was particularly impressive to me. He is very thorough and he is more than happy to repeat until we understand.Throughout the program, I was very grateful that he is the heard of the department.I recommend this program to anyone who is willing to dedicate a year to being a developer.
Yuka Yamamoto: I am a student of web development & interactive design at VanArts. There was a head teacher change from my class and there seems to be a big and good change in the program. The teachers are very supportive. They are always flexible and willing to take the students' opinions and try to make the class suitable for our situation. The classes are always step by step and if there is a lot that we don't understand, they give us time to work on it. Taking advantage of the small class size, if you ask for feedback or follow-up after class, they will give me time to talk one-on-one.All classes are project-based, giving me more hands-on skills. The course content tries to help me study the rapidly changing front-end trends.Since this is a one-year course, there are many hard parts of the course, but my teachers and classmates are always very supportive!
Techy Ted: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueSTAY AWAY... especially from the Web Development course. It is useless and the teachers don't care about you or your future! This college is mainly attended by rich kids looking for a student visa so they can stay in Vancouver. BCIT is around the corner go there and get your moneys worth!
Pigeon Man: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Valueif you aren't a social person, you won't do well here
Risako Futagawa: I am actually a full time student in Van Arts Web Development program. This is the most relevant information I can provide. About 3 weeks ago our department head suddenly left and we have not been able to get a proper education. We all pay the tuition and we should be able to get a high quality education. Since the instructor changed, one of the instructor for PHP and Javascript never came on time, he will not teach us enough. Also he will never give us break and continue the class past our lunch time. Because of his delay, we have not been taught enough in term2 so far. All the students are frustrated, worried and concerned about the situation. We have been sending emails to school but nothing has been better. Another instructor started teaching us PHP from this week but he seems like he does not know what we have learned so far... None of the communication has been done between instructors. We thought this new instructor will be better. But he does not answer questions from students and finish the class early. My classmates and I really want to change this whole situation because we take our education seriously. We emailed this new instructor to have a talk on Friday. He said he will make time but he did not show up.... I am very upset about how school is handling everything and no one cares about our education. My classmates and I are trying our best but nothing has been working well. I hate to write a poor review but this is the reality and I do not recommend anyone to go to this school. When you have problems, none of the instructors are there to understand or support you. I do not think it is worth to pay an expensive tuition and get nothing from it. I do not know about other programs but I do not recommend web development program. It is not a good school.
Dave S: Horrible experience in my opinion. Towards the end, the school became cheap and unprofessional. They even crack a joke at your expense when you leave. I have personally not recommended this school at all.
Jessica Everington: I did the Web Development & Interactive Design course 2019-2020. The teachers were really knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I felt comfortable raising any issues and the department head listened to any concerns we had. They really care about nuturing you, and were genuinely excited to watch us grow and develop our skills.I didn't have any issue with the facilities there. They are basic, but you're there to learn not chill out in the break room. I had access to all the software and programs required for the course without needing to buy anything except a $15 domain name where we uploaded our projects. The school itself is in a central location and easy to get to by bus or train.I'd recommend this course to anyone considering a career in web-something. I say "web-something" because it's a holistic course that goes beyond "just" web development. I shopped around a few different schools and ultimately chose this one due to the fact they also cover design, business, project management, and SEO. I'm so thankful I went here - I went in thinking I wanted to be a full-stack developer and fell in love with SEO instead. Now, I'm a digital marketer. I don't think I'd have had that opportunity at another school. If you are considering the webdev course, just know that you need to put the work in or you'll get nothing out of this course. The webdev course is REALLY hard and you can't coast along. It moves at a breakneck pace because there is just SO MUCH you need to learn in a year.Pro tip: always remember that every project you do will eventually go in your portfolio. At job interviews they will test your skills, so don't put anything on your portfolio that you can't code by yourself.
Maria Lavetkina: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME.I wish I invested my money in the stock market than wasted them on Web Development program.Instructors make you believe you can be a full stack developer but that's not true. That's not how the market works. Yes, the program covered a lot of courses, but nothing went in depth.A couple of instructors were professional and good, the rest of them weren't.One instructor took really long to check the homework or other projects. And when I say long, I mean 4 months, no joke. The same instructor kept talking about his dating life. So I learned a lot about it but not much about PHP and JavaScript.Instructors tell you to email them when you have questions, but they rarely reply. They are great example of who you should not be.One instructor said that VanArts is a business. Well, then I'm not satisfied with a quality of service VanArts provides. The only one good thing about my time in VanArts is the other students, some of them became my friends. Most of the students in my class also thought it was a waste of money.I DO NOT RECOMMEND web development program. There are better schools in Vancouver.
Jacob Green: Positive:Professionalism,ValueSpeaking on Photography: a school that is invested in an individual's success outside of grades on a sheet. Helps by creating a professional environment, they can help guide real-life opportunity, with real-life working professionals, and an admin team that listens to their students
Anirudh Garg: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Arthur “The Old Arthur” Marto: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityAwesome school and people!! I loved the Game Art and Design Program. I learned everything I needed to be in the industry. Thank you so much VANARTS! :)
Salman Ali: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueCame with mediocre skills..learned a lot in span of one year.
Ian Manuel Hernández: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityGreta! I completed the VFX program and learned A LOT, great for all levels of students.
Rohaan Allport: I'm a graduate from the Game Art & Design March 2019 batch. VanArts was in many ways what I expected, and in many ways not. I learnt a lot. Learnt industry standards, processes and became proficient in a lot of software. And I made many new friend with similar career interest. However after being guided and taught the basics, myself, friends and colleagues feel that program needs to be updated. Newer tools, and methods to accomplishing a task have since developed, An example would be making hair and adding hair dynamics.
Gabriel Antoniosi: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueLovely place. You will learn tons of stuffs in just one year program.
Mathews Gijo: If I had a time machine and were given the option of either travelling to one of the best moments of my life or back to that one year at Vanarts, I wouldn’t have to choose...they are both the same. This place is not just a school. It’s more. Vanarts is familia. The fast and furious kind. Besides all these, the staff is extremely helpful and kind. They are also a few of the best in their respective industry. The environment is very friendly and calming too. I for one have learnt a lot in one year that another student would take years to learn.I’d give the school more stars if Google gave me more stars XD

Blanche Macdonald Centre - Atelier Campus: what do users think?
Francis Cruz: I recently had the privilege of experiencing and being apart of the Blanche Macdonald Fashion Marketing Program from April 2022 to March 2023. The staff and the instructors went above and beyond my expectations, providing me with exceptional hands on knowledge to help me get a better understanding in the Fashion Industry. The connections i've built through my year attending here, whether it be with my peers or with the admin/instructors, have been connections that I will continue to cherish for the rest of my life. Super thankful for the admin/instructors for allowing me to explore different sides of the Fashion Industry, allowing me to learn more about where I want to be working in the future. This program will teach you more and more about the Fashion Industry that you didn't know, and I highly recommend anyone considering this program to reach out further and apply!
Jenna Bittle: I want to say a big thank you to the faculty at Blanche 💗I’m a personal shopping assistant at Holt Renfrew in womenswear and menswear department. I feel so prepared and equipped for this job because of the information from my wonderful teachers. It wouldn’t have happened without the opportunities I received while attending Blanche!I miss you all 💗💗💗
Richard Tan: As a graduate from Blanche Macdonald Centre, they gave me the foundations in order to professionally execute all aspects of the Fashion Industry. I had the privilege of meeting and learning with creative individuals.Everything about this school was inspiring. When you can't put it into words it speaks volumes to how appreciative I was attending the 1 year course for Global Marketing: Fashion and Social Media. They say when you figure out your passion in life no matter what field it is, it'll never feel like work to you. Being at Blanche was its own Utopia for me. My classmates and teachers motivated me every single day to give it my all.I love that each curriculum challenges you, and that's what life is all about. Taking a chance on yourself, because you never know unless you try. I am grateful to have been a Blanche Macdonald student in my lifetime.I wanted to personal thank each and everyone I came across during my time here. Whether we became friends or it was a quick hi, I wouldn’t be here without the help and guidance from everyone I met. I thank you all for my successes and future endeavours in the world of Fashion. If you're willing to put in the work and have the appreciation for Fashion as a whole, Blanche Macdonald Centre is for you.
Priscilla wan: Don’t waste your time here. This was my first time coming and wasted my money and time as they can’t do anything UNLESS you have virgin hair. When I made my appointment, I mentioned I have blonde highlights. Day of appointment, I go in requesting for dark brown hair. The student proceeded filling out a consultation form, only to call out to the instructor later. 30 minutes into the appointment, the instructor came by and was very rude. The instructor laughed at my request for brown hair and stating that nowhere else, not even a regular salon or school can accommodate the color I want….. dark brown hair. Of course I went to another hair salon and guess what, it was possible to change my full head hair to dark brown.
Vanessa Miner: I absolutely love Blanche Macdonald! This is the second fashion school I've attended as a Fashion Marketing student. While my last school mostly focused on just the business aspect (things like buying, wholesaling, starting a business, etc.), Blanche Macdonald taught that as well as things we need to know that are specific to the fashion industry itself. Things like history of fashion trends and also the history of fashion houses and their creative directors throughout the years. We were also taught things like different silhouettes and garment details so that we could go into the industry with not only business knowledge, but fashion knowledge as well.
Zahoor Hassan: I attended the Global Fashion Marketing Program and would recommend it to anyone wanting to start their career in fashion or beauty. My favourite classes were public relations, sustainability and business entrepreneurship. The program gives you an inside scoop into all the different parts of the fashion industry. Great internship and job opportunities while studying to prepare you once you graduate. Instructors are super helpful and knowledgeable!
sierra: The way they portray the global fashion marketing program is very misleading and far from what is what they actually teach you. Lyndi (a sweetheart) but she retaught the same information in all three classes I took. the social media teacher Lindsay has a very millennial approach that is very inaccurate and outdated. Peggy is incredible but her fashion elements class, certain parts are quite irrelevant to what you actually need to know about the fashion industry. Ex: the date of the years certain designers worked for certain brands. It’s just a way to make it seem like the people who graduate know more when it reality they don’t. They make it seem like it’s very hands-on but it isn’t. The only teacher who was hands-on in my opinion was Briana and Arshnoor. Everyone else just expected you to sit in a chair for 3.5 hours and listen while not taking into account that every student learns in a different way. Ps why are the classrooms so bland for a school that’s supposed to be a creative fashion space. It’s not worth the money because most of the places you apply to post-grad know how much of a scam it is. Every single friend of mine who went there (even past admission directors) know how terrible this school is. Don’t go into debt for a school that won’t help you get a job after. @mel and @tais
Shantay Dennis: With my instructors at Blanche being so passionate about what they taught and so encouraging to us as students it was a really inspiring and great learning experience. Blanche provided me with skills in all areas of the fashion, business and marketing industry. There was not one day I did not learn something new and valuable. Everyday I was learning and applying the skills I was taught into my life outside of school. I have developed a great sense of what it means to be apart of the fashion industry and what you need to successfully build and grow a business from scratch. Blanche always encouraged creativity from all students whether it was through assignments or class discussions and I feel that really helped me in discovering my own personal branding. Since graduating from Blanche in September 2022 I have left with a great skill set and deep knowledge on all the fashion and marketing essentials. I’ve started an internship at Banana Republic working with their incredible Visual Merchandising team. I am so excited for this new chapter of mine as I start my journey in the industry building my career, creating new experiences and meeting amazing people!
Sydney Pazurik: The first time I came here was great, it took 8 hours but I was fine waiting.Today I was humiliated, they looked at my hair for a minute or two before telling me they couldn’t bleach it because it had been dyed and that would require a “colour correction”. They refused to work on my hair and I had to leave the salon. Unless you have perfect, healthy, virgin hair, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE. The students were lovely but the two teachers were so rude and judgemental. I took the day off work to come here, now my day is ruined.
Van Guy: Since the COVID 19 pandemic began, I have been going to Blanche MacDonald Centre beauty school for inexpensive haircuts.Earlier today I needed grooming for my facial hair as opposed to a haircut. I had a student, Priyanka instructed by Holly who had suggested different ideas/techniques on how to style my facial hair as I needed to look sharp for a gala event I am to attend later.Although it is a beauty salon school, I was impressed at Holly’s knowledge of styling beards as I had been more accustomed to barber shops pre-pandemic, with the same style.I appreciated Holly was passionate about teaching students, in essence giving back with all her expertise she learned from.My beard looked great with a new style I never had before.I felt I was ‘giving back’ as I had a lot of time to offer… as the students are learning and training in a new occupation, they need the extra time to practice what they are being taught. Thanks Holly. By teaching you are coming full circle by passing on everything you have learned with the added experience of being a hair stylist for a new set students to graduate. Keep it up! 😉
Amelia Paczynski: I went to Blanche Macdonald for fashion design. It was a really great experience! Instructors were helpful and had a lot of knowledge and real world experience to share about the fashion industry. There is support for finding a job in fashion after you graduate. Mel and Brianna are super helpful, I was hired within 2 months after reaching out to them. Overall my experience at Blanche was a lot of hard work, I learned so much, and it was a great step towards becoming a fashion designer!
Brandon Mitchell: I was very lucky to meet and Alicia and Holly at the Blanche Macdonald Centre. Alicia is in the process of learning to become a barber and Holly was instructing a course on how to do it, Holly is an extremely patient and friendly instructor. Alicia was extremely polite, friendly, and an amazing student. I was so impressed by Alicia's success through the program, she told me that she had started in June and that I was her 8th live haircut from the time she started the program.Alicia washed my hair, cut, buzzed, trimmed, and even finished off with a warm towel shave. It was a relaxing experience. I have to say I was a bit concerned at before going in for a cut and shave due to past experience at a different hair school many years ago, but thanks to Holly's guidance with the program Alicia did such an amazing job, it is by far the best cut and shave I have had in a while that is right on par with all the local professionals with many years of experience! So happy to support their efforts and wishing many years of continued success, keep up the hard work!-Brandon
Lexi S: As both a previous student and now an employer, I can say that Blanche Macdonald empowers its students with a vast foundation and knowledge of the fashion industry. We look to Blanche for students interested in retail, styling, event management, PR and more. The career centre has been more than generous helping us find the appropriate students for our needs. I have personally reviewed my own studies from Blanche throughout my career, especially when I started my own line and opened our first flagship retail location.
Raman Toor: I graduated from the Global Fashion Marketing Program 4 months ago and it was amazing! The classes are very diverse so you truly get a great insight into the entire industry. All of my teachers were amazing, incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they were teaching, truly made the experience that much better! The projects double as portfolio pieces, leaving you with content to present employers post graduations. This program challenged me in the best ways possible and I 100% recommend it to anyone considering it!
Susan Ellahi: Can’t be happier .now I’m a salon owner and blanch is the best .
Kimia Kashani Momtaz: attending Blanche Macdonolad fashion program was a very good decision because it is a truly inspirational fashion school.
Victoria Baranowski: I took the global fashion marketing program and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The teachers where so fascinating. I learnt so much and not just about marketing but public relations, film industry, manufacturing and more. I graduated June 24 2022 and the Blanche staff has helped me get an internship in the field I wanted, and from this I landed a full time position. Thank you to all the staff and all my new friends I’ve acquired.
Laila A: I can't speak enough about the great experience I had at blanche Macdonald, from day one everything was perfect. The admnistration makes every step easy. I did my registration with Susan and she was so kind, thoughtful honest and everything was explained with a total honesty I felt so confortable with her. The teachers are helpful kind and very patient. The school is in a great location, it's a small classes so we have a lot of attention from the teachers. I looked around and I could not find better.
25324 Meira: When I decided to study fashion in Canada, I was told some options, but I ended up choosing to do it at BMC and I am very happy to have made this choice, I already have a fashion education in Brazil, but taking the one-year course helped me a lot to retrain and improve technically, the teachers and staff are wonderful and I am grateful to all of them. After graduating, I was invited to join the team as an assistant teacher and also an introductory sewing instructor, BMC has become more than a school for me and I have no doubt it was my best choice.Beatriz Gontijo - BR
Dylan Wiens: I had a great experience with Blanche Macdonald and their Fashion Marketing course. Everyone at Blanche truly cares about our careers and go the extra mile in trying to set you up with work once you've graduated.
Aashna Nanda: I love blanche macdonald have been enjoying my classes a lot so far. Teachers are really kind and understanding, and the environment is friendly, creative and supportive! my mom went to blanche before me and loved it as well, if you're a creative person or interesting in any program blanche offers, i would highly recommend going here!

poonam monga: I am a freelance artist. I took my fashion course from Luciana. She was awesome and I learnt a lot under her. I highly recommend her to all❤️❤️
mglanfield: Blanche Macdonald has been incredibly supportive with our 2023 hiring season at the Island Currents Spa at Sonora Resort. Their administration team has provided a keen interest, professionalism and ongoing support with our hiring process. In the past we have employed many previous graduates from their school, that provided exceptional high end spa service and treatments to our cliental. I would not hesitate to recommend their school for not only hiring but for student enrollment as well.Michelle GlanfieldSpa ManagerIsland Currents Spa at Sonora Resort
Pam Sklofsky: I was incredibly disappointed with the nail program at Blanche. Highly over priced for the kit and products received. Definitely didn't learn current techniques and we didn't cover a quarter of the notes received for the artificial module. I've heard all other programs at Blanche are amazing but they definitely missed the mark for nails. I didn't feel heard by staff with regards to my concerns until things went to the highest level. Don't forget that WE are your customers, Blanche.
Lisa Liang: I met Caroline Crochet, the owner of La Cachette Spa and a former instructor of Blanche Macdonald. It was then I got to experience my first facial with her and it was absolutely life-changing. With her extensive knowledge, Caroline has single-handedly inspired my new passion in life, SKIN! Knowing that Caroline went to Blanche Macdonald I knew I needed to go there and like that, I was enrolled at Blanche. Starting my first day of class, I met Angie Barnetson, an instructor at Blanche Macdonald. Angie made me fall in love with learning about the skin and doing nails. I now work for Caroline as her senior esthetician. Amazing school that will steer you in the right direction if you want to be in this industry!
R D: God bless holly, Phil, Susan, Barb and the whole team at blanche,What a great and memorable experienceI highly recommend the barbering program,Elite level training by Holly! She will take your skills to the next level!Nothing but good things to say!
Based Adonis: Taryn K gave me such a great shamp and sty that I stopped paying my hydro bill, and have started just going to her for my shamp and sty’s now. Have never been happier
Jamie: My experience at Blanche was excellent. After several years of planning to attend, it did not disappoint.I was fascinated by the many instructor’s authentic backgrounds from various fields like celebrity makeup, fashion week/runway, & TV/film, with work spanning from Vancouver to New York to London to LA. I was often on the edge of my seat hearing stories & techniques from these accomplished artists. As an ardent fan of movies & makeup FX since childhood, it was amazing for me to learn from artists who’ve built entire careers working on movie sets & in FX labs. As a child I would watch movie makeup VHS & DVD making-of featurettes over & over - so to be able to study under these kinds of creators in person was just so cool.I also felt the school environment was enhanced by the makeup program managers as well as the the career team. Both of these departments were always so encouraging, supportive, & available to discuss next steps & career strategies. This experience has put me on the path to being able to focus on doing what I love. Thanks so much to these incredible instructors, managers & to Blanche Macdonald!
Monica Randhawa: This school is great for everything except nails. Myself and my class all left the school feeling confused frustrated and incompetent with our skills. The products that were given to us to use were hard to work with and many people ended up in tears from frustration. My brushes from the kit were poor quality and most of them can be found at the dollar store. When asking for help we were not taught but just shown how to do it. Staff was friendly to our faces but there was gossiping going on about students. I highly do NOT recommend this school for nails save your money and time.
Kerry Maguire: I'm 1 month away from finishing the Freelance Makeup Artistry Program, and I've already made the jump from my day job to working full time in the industry. With the help of the instructors and the school staff, I've been given the tools to become a freelancer with multiple makeup brands and I freelance in almost every facet of the industry right now (fashion, bridal, film... I do it all!) Thank you so much Blanche for jumpstarting my career
Nemo Hu: with a Global Esthetics diploma. It’s amazing place to learn professional knowledge and skills as well as valuable industry experiences from my great instructors (i.e. Behnaz, Carrie, Jamie, Lesley, Natalia, and Tasneem
JIENE ZHANG: My wife was a student there recently and she said this school is awesome!
Sun**: I came to have a haircut in downtown campus last week. I have received one of the best treatments in the cut. Although the student, Kylar, was very new and very slow in the cut, he was very careful. The thing that I like him the most was his gentle and friendly attitude toward clients. I think that this is a very important quality when a barber performs on a personal service. I was willing and patience to give him all the time that I have that afternoon. When my time run out, he has to pass the cut to the instructor, Jenny, to complete the work. She was one of the very friendly teachers at Blanche MacDonald. Needless to say, that she did a beautiful cut while she showed the work to the student. I always confidence to the teachers and to most of the students at this school. I know the teachers will back up the cut before the students make irreversible mistakes. I don’t make a big deal of it if it turns out not to my satisfaction because I just wear a baseball cap for a week or so. I have never needed to. Hair will grow back. Thank you, Jenny and Kylar.
bela narang: It is a wonderful place to learn and grow! Practice is the key to perfection! Having said that , the instructors are marvellous !! With them sharing knowledge with years of experience in the industry while teaching is an icing on the cake! well planned our curriculum and class room experience was just outstanding!
Ashleigh Stewart: I attended the freelance makeup program and haven't regretted it. Since graduation I have had a very successful and thriving career with plenty of respect, support, guidance and mentorship from both my teachers and the career department. What made me choose Blanche over other schools, aside from its reputation, was the fact that the career department is dedicated to supporting graduates even after they finish school and they have truly stood up to that. I left my career in finance to become a HMUA and have had support with weddings, working with photographers, getting students to assist me in a team when I was key for a prestigious fashion gala, and ongoing mentorship in other ways too when I have questions or need some guidance. Jordy, Sussanne and Leah have really helped me too, they help me out when I have questions about jobs or projects and answer me the same day and have never made me feel like I am bothersome to them. The learning has continued even after graduation! I truly appreciate it. While I was at school, I really enjoyed it. The classes were fun and excellent, with top notch curriculum and standards from technical makeup and hair styling to hygiene and safety standards. I follow and implement everything I was taught there and have been really successful so far. The kit we received was comprehensive and all round great, we really do receive all we need to get straight to work in the industry. The community at the school is respectful, inviting, warm, friendly, encouraging, supportive and a lot of fun! I loved it there and miss being at school. If you are wanting to go to study makeup, hair, beauty then I highly recommend Blanche MacDonald.
Christina Jana Siratranont: My experience with Blanche Macdonald is truly a great one so far and I'm not even halfway through the program. I recently moved to Canada not knowing where my career was going to, and figured maybe I should try to build a career in the make-up industry. I didn't even know about Blanche Macdonald until I googled it and it was the first thing that appeared in the search results. Not knowing that it was actually the best makeup school in Canada, I enrolled myself in and I must say it's really transforming. I was just really planning to enhance my skills for Bridal Makeup and I was so glad that I enrolled in the Global Makeup Diploma program, they cover everything from basic makeup fundamentals to the most advanced modules for TV and Film, prosthetics and special effects and many more from creating résumés to building your own portfolio! I am so excited for what the future holds for all of us students. The instructors are very hands on, they really push you to bring out your best. The school also helps us find jobs and employment opportunities because they never stop providing us opportunities to volunteer and be exposed, which eventually opens up a network of opportunities. I have never been more confident with my makeup skills until after enrolling! I must say, Blanche Macdonald really prepares you for your make-up career, they don't only teach you make-up skills but also prepare you for your professional career. I am so proud to be a BMC Student.
Angela Nguyen: Unforgettable experience at Blanche Macdonald Centre where everyone is welcome and included. Staff and teachers know you by name in a warm supportive environment. High standard quality in teaching and learning experience. I’m proud to be grad of BMC, top beauty school in Canada.
Harpriya: Being a part of the freelance makeup program at BMC is one of the best opportunities that I have ever got. The level of skills growth I got to experience in all these months is tremendous. There have been number of opportunities to volunteer with some renowned organizations along with well known professionals. At BMC i am not only learning skills but also getting every possible opportunity to put that into action and getting better at being the best. I also really want to thank the career department team.THANK YOU BLANCHE MacDonald!!!!
Carly Kennedy: I loved attending Blanche Macdonald Centre! The teachers and staff were always so understanding and friendly. On my days off I would look forward to going back to school. The Global Program helped me understand where I wanted to further my career in makeup and introduced me to other areas of the feild in the makeup industry. I would definitely recommend Blanche Macdonald to anyone who wants a career in makeup! Glad I studied there :)Thank you Blanche Macdonald 3
Lulu Marieth K: I am truly blessed and grateful to have been selected as a recipient of the Blanche Macdonald Black Canadian Scholarship. I attended the Global Esthetics Program from September 2021 to September 2022 at the City Square campus. The hands-on training, theoretical knowledge as well as genuine kindness I received from my instructors was exceptional! As someone who values the holistic approach to healing the body, I particularly enjoyed learning Ayurvedic and Hot Stone massage methods, grounding techniques before starting a facial and learning more about holistic beauty products through the Cosmetic Kitchen Project. I will definitely incorporate them into treatments I offer clients. This program taught me to view the beauty and wellness industry from the lens of a service provider and that has made a major difference. I feel equipped and confident to launch my holistic esthetics business and bring my education plus experience to not only Canada but also my home country of Tanzania. Thank you Blanche Macdonald for awakening my dream of being an esthetician through skills, knowledge and a compassionate learning environment.
Atika Shahid: I am the present student of esthetic program. One of the best schools I have ever attached. Some of my favourite great teachers are carri, perri, Angie and simona. Still in school but already got a job in the industry with the help of school . Pretty much you get helped at each step.Super friendly environment great teachers and great staffOne of the best place to start your dream journey
Dawn Bourque: I recently graduated from the Freelance Makeup Artistry program at Blanche in August 2022! I had always received good feedback and reviews which prompted me to enroll there. After having completed the program I can honestly say it is a wonderful environment for learning and honing your craft. Whether you have no clue about makeup or you have a natural talent and want to up your skills, the school will support you. The instructors are passionate and work in the industry—none of that “those who can’t do, teach”. So you get up-to-date knowledge about the industry as it currently is. Each instructor brings a different flavour to their module so I find it helpful to get exposed to different ways of doing things. The Directors always have an open door (or inbox) policy—to show off your work or ask questions or get feedback or provide feedback. The careers department is determined that every graduate should find work in the industry and are around and available constantly to assist. The schools Facebook pages assist grads with job and volunteer opportunities. I would say it’s nearly impossible to fail here and if you do it’s your own doing really. Highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to enter the industry full time or part time. It’s a good jumping off point but of course success only comes to those who put in the work!
