Museum of Vancouver: what do users think?
Ron Santico: Disappointed. Museum exhibitions still great however front of staff's attitude was not very pleasent. Snobby and rude.
Dilsher Singh: A must visit for the space section and the observatory. It has rotating art exhibitions which are funVisited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More
Veronika Sigutova: A very nicely organised, smallish museum tracing the history of Vancouver from its indigenous origins to 20th century. They also had a temporary exhibition on Tobias Wang, which I also enjoyed. Student price is reasonable (15 CAD).Visited on Public holiday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More

Amandeep Singh: It feels good when a city acknowledges and honours its people. Those who made a difference must be talked about. From the inside the place looks super awesome, someone did quite a brilliant job with it. Also don’t miss the 1950 gallery and the cool Ford Fairlane!
Kris King: Slightly smaller museum but very well laid out and the exhibits are wonderful. Only warning is the bathrooms downstairs are very old and dirty. The small garden on the lower floor is cute.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More
Slawomir Lech: Overated 20 bucks for 30 minutes.

Vancouver Maritime Museum: what do users think?
Kishan Geeganage: The Vancouver Maritime Museum is a fascinating attraction that offers a unique glimpse into the history of seafaring in Canada. The museum features a wide range of exhibits, including models of historic vessels, shipbuilding tools, and maritime art. The displays are well-designed and engaging, providing a fascinating insight into Canada's maritime heritage. The museum is easily accessible by public transportation and offers affordable admission prices. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and there is a gift shop and café on-site. Overall, the Vancouver Maritime Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in naval history and maritime culture.

Anne CZ: We went for the family day promotion where admission was free for all. We got there shortly after they opened and the parking lot was already packed (their parking lot is quite small to begin with). However, we were able to find street parking a few blocks away. As it was a public holiday, the place was packed. We've been here a few times before but when the children's play area was under renovation. We were pleasantly surprised that the play area was open and it was definitely the highlight. There are a ton of hands-on independent play activities including dress up, building blocks, and stuffed puppet animals, to name a few. One part of our visit that was quite uncomfortable was a professional photographer who was actively taking photos of kids. Originally I thought they were a parent, until I saw that they were taking photos of every kid in the space. I may have missed a notice saying that photos would be taken on this day but I know many folks who would have an issue with this as not all parents/guardians will give consent to people taking photos of their child. In the gallery room, I believe to celebrate family day, they provided some complimentary snacks. It would have been nice to have had some labels to identify all of the foods for those with dietary restrictions or allergies. The only thing I recognized was bannock. It would have also been nice to know where each of the food was catered from. We were only able to stay for about 45 minutes but overall, we had a good time. By the time we left, there was a line outside that went all the way to the parking lot, probably due to the free admission.
Rebecca Clarke: This was one of my favourite places on Earth as a kid. I can't tell you how excited I was to go with my grandma (repeatedly). If I had kids in my circle now, or visitors from out of town, I would take them without hesitation. Support Vancouver museums! ❤️
Laurice Manaligod: What a beautiful museum! Our 2 and 4 year old kids greatly enjoyed the exhibitions and seeing pieces of history. Would love to come back again next time.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …More
Dave Druid: I always enjoy going by there every once in a while to check out Heritage Harbour and see what Exhibits are on. I have especially enjoyed their Pirates & Ship Wreck Exhibitions of the Past.Unfortunately, access to the St.Roche is no longer as Open as it once was. Many parts of the Ship are now shut down from being able to go and see.

Eater Eater: On broad experience is good but long line up.
Peter Zhang: I visited the Vancouver Maritime Museum with my family and it was our second time there. We had a wonderful experience once again! The RCMP ship on display is incredibly well-preserved and it's amazing to see how well the ship has been maintained over the years. But what really stood out to us was the kid's playground. It's been recently renovated and it's incredibly family-friendly, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Our child had a blast playing there and it was a great way to break up the museum visit for them. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. We were fortunate enough to attend a family event on Family Day and the free cookies and drinks were a nice touch. Our child loved them! We highly recommend the Vancouver Maritime Museum for anyone looking for a fun and educational day out with the family.
Majker Alex Majkrak: After 12 years in Vancouver, finally came here to check it out. Pretty interesting for kids as well. My 6 year old boy was very exited to check real 100 years old ship from inside. Its not big museums, but where else you can see 100 year old ship and go on board?Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait …More
Chad Simpkins: It was so much fun. A lot of information had taken us a little over an hour to walk through it all. Even had a large vessel indoors that you could walk on and through. The price value is well worth the museum. I am not from Vancouver but I will return.
James Smart: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended NoMore
Peter Cooke: Listen, its not great, at best its underwhelming, very poorly lit and dusky, lots of signs saying exhibits removed or out of order.Complementary wheelchair for elderly patron looked and performed like it came off the set of 'one flew over the cockoo's nest', literally. The St Loch RCMP schooner and the ship models are good. The bit about Canada's 'rum running' role during the American prohibition between 1920 and 1933 was informative. We were the only people there, seems we were the last to find out.I guess I'd go if the parking and entry was free.
Andrew Yin: Really neat, specialized museum housed in a unique structure. Some of the exhibits and spaces are a bit old, but the main exhibit - the St. Roch - was well-maintained and housed in an impressive space. I liked how we could climb up to the ship's deck and even explore parts of its interior, include parts of the lower deck. Shoutout to the staff member manning the ship - he was very friendly and willing to answer our questions. There was also a host of exhibits surrounding the ship that gives great information on the ship's background and history. For a casual visit, an hour would be good.

The Doll’s Ghost, F. Marion Crawford - we were so surprised at this story! Science World: what do users think?
michael gray: Was expecting more, I've been to better science center.
kurtis Hartwell: Always a fun visit to science world. My kid loves all the activities and talked about it all the way there telling us what we were going to do. Very busy as we were there on a long weekend. Bring your own food if you are there during peak time waited 30mins for whitespot. Skin exibit was neat and seemed small compaired to other exibits in the past.
Christopher G: An absolute must see if you are in Vancouver! Great time for both the kids and the adults with something for everyone to see. Located right on the ocean, there are plenty of places to have a nice picnic when visiting or take a walk on the sea wall. Accessible by transit. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It can be a little expensive to visit so keep this in mind when doing so.
Connie Ono: This was my first visit and I'd have to say it's not what I expected. I was looking forward to their Reptile World Exhibit where you can "feel" the skin of the various cold blooded animals but was disappointed, since most of them were interpretations to the real thing... It felt like the Telus Science Centre in Calgary but with more space and things to interact, but in all honesty, this is more for the younger generations to explore and build a love for science. As for parking, I HIGHLY recommend going early to get a parking spot, especially if it is near the science centre because the space is really crowded that if you are driving one of those big Ford trucks, you wouldn't be able to park if it's jammed packed to begin with. Otherwise, it is best to take a subway or sky train, or the aquabus to get here. And yes, purchasing a ticket in advance is always best to avoid waiting in line.
Pietro Biondo: Il museo è sicuramente ben fatto. Lo consiglio per famiglie con bambini. Agli adulti potrebbe risultare un po' troppo bambinesco per i miei gusti.
Barbara Leao: It is wonderful for kids because there are lots of fun games that can teach them science, but not as much for adults. I thought it was more a museum type of thing, but I was mistaken. I think it is an amazing place to go if you have children between six and 12. They will enjoy it for sure. 探险家Ramona: I loved to be able to show this place to a friend who visited from the US. The place and people working there are very informative and it is a great opportunity to understand the chinese community living in Vancouver. A great eye opener on how positively chinese have worked hard, to make an impact in Vancouver and the Canadian economy, even up to this day. You get a self guided tour and can make your own immigration mark on the provided map in the museum. Visiting this museum will chang people's view of the life in Chinatown. Bring an open mind it be worth it.
J Y: It was interesting to learn the history of a prominent Chinese member/family who has a long history in Canada. What is unfortunate is that there are multiple Chinatown/Chinese history museum in Chinatown. They are competing against each other rather than work together to promote better understanding of Chinese Canadian history. One of these museums will fail because even if I am interested in Chinese Canadian history, I will only visit one of them since the info will be similar. So competing against each other. That is too bad.
Kevin Lee: Good Chinese caption. Stories well told. Very high level of curation. And was free.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait …More
T Y: What a fantastic place to visit! So glad we decided to visit
Ron Pong: Perfectly situated in the heart of Chinatown on Pender street. Very well done in highlighting the history of Chinatown and how Chinese immigrants and Canadians played such a big role in shaping Chinatown and the surrounding areas in its hey days. There are themed interactive boards, videos and VR. It's a great learning experience. Admission is free and a excellent way to spend the afternoon. Lots of good food close by as well.
Edwardolardo Plays: Just visited there today. Great history and videos to show what Chinatown used to look like and the people who made it happened. Appreciated it much more since watching documentaries of Chinatown and Chinese Canadian history.
Vincent Min: Fantastic exhibition telling the story of chinese-canadians. Really great that it's located in chinatown as well.
Alexander Lee: The museum was quite small, but made use of modern technology (TVs, audio, VR headset, etc.) to share stories of a vibrant past.No entry fee, just walk right in and absorb the history of determination, discrimination, and deterioration.
Manuel Lam: Must-see museum in Chinatown that tells stories about Chinese Canadians. Dedicate at least an hour for your visit to watch all the different videos, check out artifacts, and use their VR displays.
Steven Smethurst: Wonderful exhibit with mixed vr and plenty of video interviews. Well done
Derek Oss: As I was walking on Pender Street yesterday, I was graciously invited to the current exhibition which I found informative & illuminating. I was so pleased to be invited to understand the history of the struggle of the Chinese community against immense odds in establishing a legitimate place in Canadian society. Thank you!
Dan A: It was alright
Robert Kerslake: Small exhibit but was very informative. The host was great
David Wang: An extraordinary place to visit in Chinatown, the exhibition has many amazing stories about individual Chinese Canadians
