Professional Photography Program: what do users think?
Jaime Larsen: I have not been a student at Langara (yet) however, I have had an amazing experience with the faculty and students in the Arts/Photography department that I would like to share. My wedding was coming up in 3 weeks, and my photographer (who is a pro, but also a family member) bailed on us. She wasn't able to travel to the wedding. We researched the top photography schools in Vancouver area and Langara is number one. We couldn't afford a typical $3000-$5000 wedding package, and we thought it would be a great opportunity for an eager student to get some experience. Surprisingly enough, the faculty at Langara responded right away, first of all to apologize on behalf of photographers everywhere! They agreed that it would be a great opportunity for the students. We received numerous emails from students, in a very professional manor, asking to take on the job. We decided to go with the lovely Laura Mohr of Belleza Pura Photography and SHE DID SUCH A FANTASTIC JOB!!! I can certainly tell that they are doing a great job of teaching new photographers, not just about the art, but the ins and outs of the business too. She also spoke very highly of the photography program at Langara. We are SO appreciative of the philosophy and ethics at this school. THANK YOU!

Vancouver Photo Workshops: what do users think?
Todd Mercer: Save your money and spend it in a worthwhile online course instead because this is not one of those. I was living in Vancouver at the time and wanted to help support a local business. I took the photoshop for photographers course a couple of years ago and found it incredibly disjointed, jumbled and unprofessional. The instructor made so many mistakes...and I do mean so many (this is a pre-recorded course) through each and every tutorial, often excusing it as a better way for you to learn by learning from his mistakes. Here's a better way to learn, VPW..practice and edit your tutorials in a more streamlined and professional fashion. Listening and watching to you're instructors fumble through their lessons is confusing and aggravating. There was also zero input on any projects completed by the instructor or any one else at VPW.My workplace re-imbursed me for the cost of the course itself but I needed some type of receipt to prove I had taken the course and completed it. Multiple emails over the course of a couple of months received no responses until I worded my final inquiry more critically...only then did I finally get a proper response. (refer to review below concerning another persons experience with communicating with these people).Like I said save your money, there are plenty of online courses that offer far superior instruction ( even youtube tutorials are far better). Don't waste your hard earned money and time with this hackneyed attempt at online tutorials. I'm suspicious of anyone reviewing this course positively, either they are complete beginners with no real expectations or they are somehow connected.
Sarah Frank: I took a couple courses last year, enjoyed them immensely. Instructors were professional and thorough. Courses were affordable. Now that winter is here I'll be looking to continue my studies with VPW. My photography has noticeably improved. Thanks VPW, see you soon

Vancouver Institute of Media Arts (VanArts): what do users think?
Mathews Gijo: If I had a time machine and were given the option of either travelling to one of the best moments of my life or back to that one year at Vanarts, I wouldn’t have to choose...they are both the same. This place is not just a school. It’s more. Vanarts is familia. The fast and furious kind. Besides all these, the staff is extremely helpful and kind. They are also a few of the best in their respective industry. The environment is very friendly and calming too. I for one have learnt a lot in one year that another student would take years to learn.I’d give the school more stars if Google gave me more stars XD
Yuka Yamamoto: I am a student of web development & interactive design at VanArts. There was a head teacher change from my class and there seems to be a big and good change in the program. The teachers are very supportive. They are always flexible and willing to take the students' opinions and try to make the class suitable for our situation. The classes are always step by step and if there is a lot that we don't understand, they give us time to work on it. Taking advantage of the small class size, if you ask for feedback or follow-up after class, they will give me time to talk one-on-one.All classes are project-based, giving me more hands-on skills. The course content tries to help me study the rapidly changing front-end trends.Since this is a one-year course, there are many hard parts of the course, but my teachers and classmates are always very supportive!

Edge Imaging Studio Vancouver: what do users think?
Roo Wyda: We went into the Vancouver studio to do Grad photos and ended up doing lifestyle photos as well. The photographers were fantastic in both making our teen feel very relaxed and comfortable and the end result was really fantastic in the photos. There were lots of prop options as well which made for a really great end result as well. Jordan and his team were top notch in their talent and professionalism.
Eeva Stenhouse: Excellent photographers absolute icons. They took my grad photos and offered so many different options and let me look at the photos after. 10/10 would recommend.

The Photography Institute - Canada: what do users think?
John Neil Photography: This course was fantastic. I learned everything that I wanted to know and so much more! Whenever I submitted an assignment, after it was marked I received detailed and direct feedback from an experienced industry professional, which let me know when I was on the right track, and when I was not. I also received resources after each module that helped me understand topics even more. The overall tone and style of the whole course were perfect; I enjoyed reading all of it. I was unsure of the pictures that I was taking before this program. Now I am proud of the work that I do!
Nicole Eliuk: I went into this course not knowing a lot of information. I have learned so much from the last 12 modules. I feel like my skills and knowledge have improved from the details you get from the course. The teacher was amazing, and the response I got back made me feel more confident. I am going to go further with some advanced courses and look forward to learning more techniques and wonderful information to further my career. Thank you!!

LaSalle College Vancouver: what do users think?
madison jarvis: Great school if your looking for smaller class sizes and one-on-one learning experience.Starbucks is just across the street which is great when I need an energy-boost.I am half way through my Architecture and Interior Design Degree, and from my experience what I can say is you will get what you put into it.If you are a hard worker and you strive for success... that will be recognized amongst the instructors and they will do everything and anything to help.If you want to do the bare minimum and "get by" well then, sorry... this isn't the industry for you because its very competitive and requires hard work, haha.If you're the kind of person who has leadership qualities and would like to be involved in the student life on campus then I recommend that you join the Student Representative Committee. When I was reading through the previous comments from 2+ years ago (this was before my time), I can honestly say that from my experience I can't agree or relate to anything that those people were concerned about. The school switched ownership years ago and as a result many things have improved.
jagraj singh 0190: Its really awesome all the staff is very respectful and helps me in very polite way
