Suzy Szokendi: This review specifically for the Retina section Dr E.Navajas team. I had a retina detachment in March 2023, which was very scary. Every person from the ladies at reception, the ones who were putting the drops in, and checking the eye sight were nice polite and patient. I had to go back few times and have the operation too. Dr R.Boladas and Dr Navajas were professional, patient, efficient and very helpful at every follow up visits. Thank you for saving my eyesight. I am grateful
Durspe Van: Two stars because the Doctors are great at what they do, but as a business this facility is run by clowns. No information was given for a specialist appointment for my 3 yr old that took 3 months to get and upon arrival I find out the process could last 4-6hrs. I was then told I should set up their email confirmation system if I want it. Wow! This has to be the worst clinic I've ever encountered in BC for costumer service and I work in healthcare and cover multiple health authorities.

Roger Vino: This review is specifically for Section C. So far, I find the team in this section to be very efficient and friendly. I have been there a few times to get my retina checked and remedied due to flashing lights.
Eileen Asere: Receptionist and team have poor communication as to instructions. The last visit The technician did my testing and told me to wait in the sitting area, I waiting 45 mins before I went to the reception and asked what was happening she told me I was done I could have left! The second time the Latin receptionist was being rude and told me I was told I had two waiting times and I had a paper slip. None of that was told to me and no paper was given. When the appointment was booked I was told it will be 30Mins. I’m a pretty patient person but this was disappointment. Receptionist just chat amongst each other not acknowledging parents terrible costumer service!!
Paul Wu: Sept 26, 2022Info on ParkingPaid parking is available and is accessed through the lane between Broadway and 10th.Only 10 spots with the rest reserved 24 hours.Exit through the closed gate, which will open as you cross the sensor. If you try to exit from where you entered you may encounter some difficulties if another car is trying to get in.There are parking meters along 10th going west. Note that they may be labeled with the handicapped icon.There is also a 10 min parking area in front of the building on 10th as well as on Willow.

She is very professional and knows her job very well. I saw alot of receptionists losing cool with patients but she is just being professional all the time. Thank you so much to the whole team.
Chao Deng: Chaotic organizing ability, rude and shows no respect.Was referred to the clinic and was expected to be reached on the next day, not until I called in to find out that they didn’t even know my file existed because no one checked their own fax, promised I will be contacted later, and wouldn’t hear from them at all, called at 4pm and was brushed off again and was told I will be reached after office hour, which I doubt they even care about reaching out to me after work?By far the worst medical “care” I’ve ever had in Canada for the past 20 years.If you work in medical care industry, please first understand what the word ‘care’ stands for

Jim Slater: The doctor was very polite and courteous. He performed laser surgery to seal a hole in my left retina that left untreated could have led to leakage from my eyeball, resulting in a detached retina. I didn't know that it would be so painful, or that I would be blind in that eye for several minutes after the surgery, and blurred vision for several minutes after that. The surgery was performed 11 days ago and my eye still aches and I have a superficial headache on the left side of my head. The ache is slowly diminishing, and hopefully will be gone in a few more weeks. But I wish they had told me before the procedure about the pain and the temporary blindness / blurred vision in my left eye.
José María de la Puente: I had to go there Yesterday for an urgent and very scary check up, as the optometrist had seen something concerning in my eye. I was very impressed by the kindness and efficiency of the team. Every single professional I could see (and I spend almost 2 hours there so I saw a lot) was working so diligently and always keeping an eye for the vulnerable ones to assist them and help them with their needs. Hats off to the Section C teams in particular, because that is where I was attended exquisitely.
Jackie Q: A bit hard to find the place in the VHG maze. All paid parking. Been here a few times with my grandma and almost every time we were kept waiting about 20-30 min past appointment time. But I get it. The docs have to deal with emergencies and appointments that run long. Docs are very qualified and knowledgeable. Staff are very competent too. But not overly friendly or anything. They do their job and do it well. What more can you ask for?
Rebecca Alexander: I just called to ask about details for my upcoming procedure and the staff answering the phone was SO RUDE. Unbelievable, don't answer the phone if you can't even simply be cordial.

They made me see again.But the way they run that clinic is a joke!If you have an appointment be prepared to NOT be seen for at least 3 to 4 hours.. My appointment was at 9:40 and I did not get seen at all. I got a parking ticket because they did not inform me I was going to be there all day so my 3 hour parking wasn't long enough. Then I got taken to the back in the room and they ignored me the entire time. What is the point of an appointment time if you're not going to value that? That was my time, I drove an hour just to get a follow up picture done And I was tossed aside like a piece of trash.
fay cornish: This surgeon has no interest in what complications you have after he does your surgery. He refuses to follow up with you when you are in a lot of pain. I have been in pain for two weeks and he refuses to give me an appointment to see what the problem is. I feel that the lens has slipped down to the lower left of my eye. He told me to keep putting drops in my eyes which l have been doing for weeks now. And go see the optometrist. What kind of surgeon does this. Not only that but the surgeon who did the first eye was so gentle. He is so rough it was terrible. Good luck going to someone who doesn’t care about his patients.
Angela Guerreiro: Dr Holland is amazing ! I got diagnosed with a eye condition , I been seeing him since 2014 . He has done 2 corneal transplant on my eyes ,one in 2015 and one in 2021. He was able to give the best gift to be able to "see again " . He always has fellowship there which is amazing seeing him teach ! I can not say anything better about him ! And all staff in the office is amazing , from the reception to the doctor's !Thank you for giving me my vision back ❤️

Joyce Chan: I saw Dr. Jessica Cullis for a second opinion and I am so glad to have found her! She was extremely thorough with her examination and brought me back for additional testing to ensure that my vision was being properly assessed. Until I saw Dr. Cullis, I was not able to wear glasses for longer than a few hours because of terrible headaches. I had been using contacts all the time and my eyes were so dry. Dr. Cullis figured out that my prescription had been incorrect all these years!Julia helped me pick out a pair of frames that worked for my strong prescription (and looked great, too) and now I’m wearing my glasses all the time with no discomfort!I am impressed with the care, work and attention I received during my visits to View Optometry and highly recommend them to you!

Justin Mejia: Incredible service from the first visit. This team is top tier and I will go to them for all optical needs.I had my initial eye test and was able to get a couple contact lenses to test. Dr Hines was not only so accurate (best/least straining Rx I’ve had in approx a decade) and also was so kind! We talked about our kids and she advised to bring my 6 month son in for an initial screening (which came back as perfect. They also took care of my wife!They were so kind with ensuring we were able to get the most out of our benefits by making great suggestions for eyewear. All three of us have been extremely happy with our frames and lenses!I also had an issue that was caused on our behalf when my son sat on and bent my frames. The team offered multiple solutions and prepped for a warranty claim but we’re able to fix the frames back to exactly how they fit when I first put them on.I have to say it again, this team is incredible. A++ customer service and kindness, truly love them!

Sheri Goesen: 16:30 on a Friday afternoon after calling several of other places, View Optometry to the rescue. My husband had a piece of metal in his eye ( at the time, we weren’t sure if it was metal or a burn). With very limited options on a Friday afternoon, we figured we would definitely be in for a long haul at emerge after being told by 4 different offices that is was too late to get him in. Thought I would give it one more shot and called View Optometry and the girl that answered the phone was an absolute delight and more than willing to accommodate us, even if it meant the Optometrist having to stay a little longer. From the moment we stepped inside until the moment we left, they were so polite and nice and most importantly, successfully removed a piece of metal from my husband‘s eye!!! We ended up making appointments for ourselves and as well will make appointments for our kids there from now on as well. (The kids’ grandma had always taken care of the eye doctor appointments with our kids as that was there little thing to do but she’s recently passed away ) Hard to find good and friendly service these days so this was a pleasant surprise. Thanks so much for saving our weekend and you’ve definitely received our loyalty from this point on.

Rochelle Ogilvy: Went once and will never go again. I waited over an hour past my appointment time to see her for 2 minutes. Parking is a nightmare and only pay parking so her punctuality costed me extra money.They use an automated service for appointment reminders- none of which I got. So they want to charge me $150.00 for a “missed appointment” I never knew I had. I tried calling multiple times, leaving messages, and heard nothing back. Eventually I emailed and even then it took a few days where I was told to pay up and that is that.Clearly just a money hungry practice that does not actually care about the patients.Find a different Opthamologist.

Kate X: Dr. Briar Sexton is professional, responsible and amazing doctor.I have a bad eye's pain and headache for car accident many years. Recently I have more worse eye's double vision and blurring every day and eye balls are difficult to move with nausea and want to vomit. I had an appointment to see her the month ago, and she refered me to have a testing at St. Paul hospital. It found out that my eyes had trouble focusing. I am suffering for many years and see many different doctors that only give me pain medicines.I am so glad she found out my eye's problem. Thanks a lot!I recommend she is the best eye's doctor

When I was having some difficulty understanding an out of country medical insurance problem, Dr Sexton went out of her way to source the relevant literature on the issue and studied it before explaining it to me. It’s hard to find anyone out there that would go out of their way to help to this extent, let alone a busy doctor.
Shirley Choo: I have been going to Dr. Sexton for years and have always found her to be professional, reassuring and knowledgeable. I come from a family who tend to have problems with our eyes (I had a torn retina that had to be repaired 3 times). My husband is glad he went to Dr. Sexton, because she found the torn retina in his eye which had to be repaired that day. Our family doctor had insisted he go to the ophthalmologist and refused to give him a referral, so he had to go to a clinic to get the referral.
Lydia du Bois: Dr. Sexton was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain what she was investigating. She took my case seriously and paid attention to detail. The staff who helped me were friendly and all administrative matters were taken care of promptly.

Once again the customer service from the assistant was fantastic, and the optometrist was very thorough this time, taking care to explain the tests and the specifics of how glasses are made for eyes like my own. They are following all of the new Covid-19 guidelines, so I felt safe during my visit. I now have a new, adjusted pair of glasses on the way. My experience this time was great, I felt heard and am confident my new glasses will be the right strength, and I am changing my review from 2 stars to 5. **The receptionist is fantastic, very friendly and helpful, the optometrist was not. He did not listen to me when I told him that due to being dyslexic I was taught to read by the shape of the letters, and can recognize them well, even when blurry, so I need to be tested on the children's instruments in order to get accurate results, which he refused to do, and now I still cant see through my glassesPretty disappointed.

Harshone M: I got there 10 minutes before my 4pm appointment and checked in and the receptionist asked me to sit down which I did. At around 5 minutes before my appointment I asked the receptionist if there is a form I could fill out while I'm waiting. She rudely told me she is too busy to give me a form so I sat back down. I got up again 5 minutes after 4 to see if the receptionist could give me an eta of when I would be called. She told me she does not know that and there is someone else in there and 2 other people ahead of me. She said each appointment time varies and an appointment is up to 45 minutes long. So upon realizing I might not be called until after 5 and would be waiting there over an hour I told her to cancel my appointment. She didn't care. If doctors want patients to respect their time then it should work the opposite as well where client's time is also respected.

Meh Maz: I took my mother Today to the Eye clinic for an appointment. She gets extreme motion sickness, at times. And Today was such day and on the way to the appointment she threw up. Same happened just before the start of the examination, and also during.Emma was the person doing the eye exam and shewas very patient and not phased out at all by by the situation. The eye tests beforehand were efficiently and pleasantly carried out by Dr. Janda and various technicians. Because I will be away by the end of the month, Johnny kindly expedited the manufacture of my new lenses, and we were both pleasantly surprised by how quickly they came to FYidoctors' new (airy, bright) Broadway office.There wasn't a huge change in my prescriptions, but there feels a significant improvement with these lenses.

Pam and Dr. Leung were both incredibly kind and professional. Pam was very patient with pre-exam testing and all my questions about the process for ordering contact lenses. Dr. Leung walked me through all of the exams with patience and answered all of my questions. My fears and anxiety from my previous optometrist were alleviated instantly. I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking to get their eyesight checked, for new glasses, and for ordering contact lenses.

I did my eye exam there and got the new prescription,I asked them to order the contact lenses (the brand that I’m comfortable with) and she just refused and said you need to come and sit with contact lenses specialist and they will tell you what to wear!!! And I’m gonna be charged for a service that I don’t need!! They charge extra for training and for Samples which is ridiculous!I went to Costco, they trained me for wearing contact lenses, they ordered samples from three different brands and it was all for free, and they have the BEST customer service.

Joseph Lee: It's 2nd time I visited this place. Unfortunately, they forgot about me, and I had to wait for an hour.Having said that, I am still giving 5 stars. The quality of service was great. Dr. Reis offered a free eye exam for the wait, but you know what? I still paid the full money. The service was that good.Everyone makes mistakes. We are all human. It matters how well a person handles his/her own mistakes. Dr. Reis spend lot of time with me explaining all the findings without a rush. He showed many available options with his honest opinion including my kid's eye health and future plans. I will come back with my wife and two kids to see Dr. Reis.
Petri Dish: I see on Google Reviews I’m not the only patient to have received the wrong prescription. Integra says the typo was the manufacturer's fault. They finally compensated me well after my 1-star review.They don’t answer their phones, which has been their downside for at least a year. They say they have a solution to that. Also, they had booked me on the wrong week. Reception had made me follow up with the same optometrist that ordered the contact lenses, who only works two to three days of the week, but after my 1-star review, one of the owners said that I can book with another optometrist if the mailed contact lenses need further adjustment. When I was in the clinic, the optometrist looked up the prescription that Integra says the manufacturer Precision used, and they confirmed that it mistakenly had a one in front of it. That’s more than double! They said that it was the mistake of Precision's.Also, they could be more sanitary. The optometrist touched my eyelashes with the eye drop bottle, which shouldn’t even be used between multiple people. I didn’t see staff wipe the equipment (phoropter?) that you touch your face with in the optometrist room, which is normally done when the patient or the optometrist enters.Lastly, the area for customers to insert contact lenses is cramped. Other optometrist offices I’ve been to had more space for that. Staff asked me to use the washroom to insert my contact lenses, and then someone wanted to urgently use the toilet, so I left and moved to the other area with only one contact lens in at the time. Staff ended up saying the usual area was fine for me to use, but that I might not have a mirror there because a patient was sitting at the table in front of it. Get another mirror or get that patient to leave the area instead of sitting there for several minutes then! Anyway, I didn’t even need a mirror, so they could’ve mentioned the mirror before making me use the washroom.
