BC Diabetes Offices: what do users think?
Tristan Elliott: Great diabetes clinic!
Cara T: Dr. Tom Elliot has demonstrated impatience and a lack of willingness to listen to patient concerns. He also did not review reports sent from the patient's family doctor. This behavior could be interpreted as neglectful and dismissive of patient needs. It may be advisable to seek out another practitioner if one desires a more respectful and attentive healthcare experience.
James Campbell-Page: This clinic is effective at advocacy and I am in their debt for it. For instance, they advocated for my continual glucose monitor to be covered by provincial medical insurance. They have saved me a tremendous amount of time, money and energy in their work. The team here is nice too.

Vancouver Prostate Centre: what do users think?
Mike B: Dr. Flannigan is great. He's personable, detailed, and patient with explaining care.Unfortunately, I've found arranging appointments difficult. My job involves the public at a moment's notice. While I have regular morning & afternoon breaks, it's impossible to accommodate an hour-long call window. It seems that telehealth has made access to specliasts even more cumbersome.I've ultimately had to go with a different doctor.
Jordan: Horrific . You will learn real fast that your welfare is not of any concern to staff. The outcome and quality of your life is not important but the constant flow of men with prostates to line the pockets of the surgeons is.That the need for bodies for medical students to work on or some study that the Doctors have financial interests in is far more important than youThe whole premise of VPC is not to treat prostate cancer but it is to serve those who profit from it. From the moment you walk in your on the Prostate Conveyor . Your individuality is gone. You are no longer a person but a prostate that can be utilized for profit , teaching and research. They don't tell you that most likely some medical student will be the one actually doing the cutting. You get told their surgeons are the best and their skills are second to none. But no mention of students doing the actual cuttingWhat they really mean is they are a teaching facility and people pay to go through UBC to learn how to pull prostates. That your prostate has some students name on it all ready. The worst of the worst is the Director . Martin Gleave.Do not trust him at all.If you do go there and decide to be treated make sure you take this step.. Read the consent form carefully. In it there will be a little line that says Medical students may take part in your care and treatment or something like that.Cross it out and initial it.. Make sure your are clear that your are to be treated by those who promised they would. There will be push back but don't give in. Stand your ground or you will be sorry the rest of your lifeWhat this allows is for some one in trainee to operate on you. There is no guarantee that your surgeon who promised to do the operation will even stay in the OR.. Just set up the trainee and let them have their way with you. Surgeons prefers to rely on residents to do the grunt work so they can get a fat fee for not getting their hand's dirty. Were as in non teaching facilities the surgeon you signed up for is the surgeon you get. Not some eager resident first time out.I made the dreadful mistake of putting my trust in these people and taking them to be honest.Only on the day of the surgery to find out a brash resident in training was do to the operation. When I went to stop the operation I was assaulted and forced back down on the operating table so I could be used as a teaching tool. Beware ! or better yet go to some other facility if your smart.
Anna K: Dr. Goldenberg himself is a brilliant and caring doctor and helped dad a lot, but the receptionist hung up on my mom mid-conversation when trying to make an appointment for my dad. This happened on August 12, 2019 around 3:30pm. Not cool :(

St. Paul's Hospital: what do users think?
Ramtin Lahooti: Very knowledgeable staff
Adam Blender: Last week I was admitted to St. Paul's for an ablation which is a procedure performed inside the heart. All of the nursing staff, as well as the doctors were friendly, empathetic and made me feel at ease. After hearing and seeing some of the horrible patients they have to deal with there, I have even more respect for them then I already had. Dr Yeung performed my ablation and with any luck it was successful, only time will tell. Their staff did an excellent job as far as I'm concerned and recommend the Heart Centre at St. Paul's to everyone in need of medical services for their heart.
Patrick Lee: Good job calling a 2nd waiting room fast track when people here are waiting up to three hours. Definitely fast track!
brashmarko: Ask for a little privacy and this what i get so I could sleep after having a stroke. I will be leaving tomorrow morning. How many people would take a pee in a plastic tube on video? *
Ricou: La jolie infirmière du 1er étage n'a pas voulue coucher avec moi quand je lui ai montrer mes fesses. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi, c'est honteux!
N Bala: I have been living in Surrey and on hearing about the ER through friends and social media, I landed up at St. Paul’s and believe me that was one of the best decisions in my life preferring over the nearest ER. Staff from the greeter station to front desk to back room all were exceptional. Nurses, doctors, technicians were all superb. Turn around was pretty quick and my total thanks to the doctors Daniel Shi and Christopher DeWitt for the right advice and direction and concluding my visit an amazing experience. I had to change my mind totally that not all ERs are alike. There is outstanding one here which strives to take care of the patients utmost and make sure that when you leave, you are totally worry-free! Once again thank you doctors. A special mention about the nurse Bobby who attended to me nicely. Other ERs should consider this one as their ideal example to follow.
Joy Cabigting: Amazing care! Amazing doctors and nurses!
Bobbi k: Respect full
Verna victoria Mclaughlin: I am so disappointed in the way I was treated at this hospital. And I won't be returning.
Nikki Toma: I would avoid this place at all costs. I was literally kicked out of emergency for trying to advocate for myself. Asked for a second opinion and they threatened to call security on me…I literally did nothing wrong but patiently wait there in agony. I have a rare condition called Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. When it flares up I have to go to emergency but NEVER AGAIN. Shout out to Dr. Stoian. Thanks for literally treating me like nothing more than a piece of garbage. It’s scary that you are even practicing medicine. Please avoid this Dr. I don’t want anyone going through what I did today. He’s all ego and doesn’t care at all!!! MENTAL HEALTH IS REAL!!! #BEKIND
Spencer Quimby: Had an outpatient procedure with the GI clinic. Everything went very smoothly. Nurses were fantastic, super friendly, helpful and reassuring. Doctor went over everything with me until I was absolutely satisfied I knew what was going on. Took what could have been a stressful morning and made it A OK. Thanks all!
Dark Simpson: it's where my doctor's office is too
Love Peace: Turned me away with a dislocated finger after mocking me that it was my nail that was broken instead. Horrible excuse of a medical institution.
viviene thomas: The most amazing staff. From receptionist to surgeon the whole team is amazing. I felt so cared for and I would travel back again from Toronto to get amazing customer service.
TV Ted: The ceo Dalton should be ashamed of herself. The managers are liars and treat their staff like garbage. Liars from the top down. Shame. And this is healthcare!
siobhain Coopman: Thanks to the amazing staff in the cardiology unit at St Paul’s Hospital ! The Dr’s and nurses gave exceptional care to my Mom . They were attentive , kind, caring and their bedside manner did not go unnoticed . Thank you 🙏
YAN YAN TSO: Really nice visit today. All things considered. Injured in transit and the ambulance took me here. Didn’t even know it was that close. Walking distance to workplace actually. And very different experience from ER as a walk in. Coming in by ambulance was definitely less wait time. Maybe almost 1.5-2 hrs total time in the hospital. Partially dislocated my shoulder. The X-ray staff super nice took things slow. The “student” that took the X-rays did nice job.
Ken Glen: A very positive visit/experience even though this valuable asset is set in the middle of a portion of Vancouver which many City Administrations have ignored for decades....
Clara Andreoletti: Io son nato in questo ospedale e quindi gli son molto legato.
Maria .S: A well known hospital with knowledgeable, compassionate staff members 💜
Jim Ervin: I must give this hospital at least a five star review since I've been told that the paramedics actually saved my life there in 2021 when I went in with heart problems. It's quite disturbing for me to think of it now considering how perfectly normal I feel. I could complain about other things such as an increasing lack of a callback when I leave a message. But this place really came through for me in the crunch. And of course, that should be the same for anyone at any hospital.

Specialist Referral Clinic: what do users think?
jordan bray: never returns calls. I was put on a year(+) long waiting list (b.s. as im a risk for colon cancer since i was a toddler) and when my appointment was eventually booked it came and went and nobody contacted me... I have been trying to get an appointment since and nothing. I'm furious with this useless operation.
Marge Urbani: Terrible!
JD Projects: this place never return calls or answer emails.
Mar Clanuzzi: This is an excellent clinic. Dr. Rod French was so caring and helpful with my husband's ganglion cyst and wrist arthritis. So thorough in his explanation. An amazing doctor. And the staff were courteous and helpful.
Corey Doell: After living in pain and fighting with the public system for 1.5 years on a botched hernia surgery the team at SRC and Cambie surgical repaired me. They are fast( 24 days start to finish) , efficient and increadible professionals to deal with. Called after to make sure I was OK. I would highly recommend them!
kami Ra: I visit my specialist after my torn 3 ligaments in soccer .Dr Saswah said no surgery I decided to get second opinion and I visit Dr day about month ago he told me come back in month they called me back after 10 days and arrange another visit I went back to Dr Day , like last time he was very kind and respectful and kindly exam me and he said keep going no surgery and again offer me follow up in 3 months for $550 this great man allowing me to visit him for 3 rd times ,what else I should expect ? Dr day thanks so much for your effort and honestly .Both times you spent more than enough time with my knee
CT M: After paying close to $1000 for a consult I can’t get them to call me back or Email after 6 attempts in 4 weeks. Waste of time and $ that I could be using to heal instead of get taken advantage of.
Breezie Lee: Wow! Excellent Service. Professional, kind, compassionate and very organized. I decided to see Dr. Alastair Younger regarding my ongoing issues with my right foot/ankle as I had an accident/surgery in Costa Rica nearly a year ago and have been in terrible ongoing pain. Dr.Younger is a leading foot/ankle surgeon, and I really wanted his opinion. And I was right! He was so patient and empathetic, he spent a significant amount of time going thru my MRI's, X-rays and all other medical reports. Plus, he examined my foot/ankle thoroughly and explained what he believed was going on. Furthermore, he reviewed all my options so I could make a decision on my recovery moving forward. I cannot recommend the Specialist Referral Clinic enough. The receptionist that I booked the appointment with, Evangeline was so sweet and extremely organized with my instructions for pre-xrays and other necessary documents in order to properly prepare for my consultation with Dr.Younger in advance. I highly recommend the Specialist Referral Clinic to anyone dealing with health concerns. It was the best decision I have made since I got home from Costa Rica and simply couldn't handle the pain anymore and needed answers. Our health is in our own hands! Listen to your body. THANK YOU Specialist Referral Clinic. I greatly appreciate everything you did for me.
M T: The service is mediocre.
A T: Extremely Unprofessional, Poor and Unethical management. It is Unbelievable how they treat their patients. They do Not care for their patients. They take advantage of the patients' desperation to see a doctor because of the waits in the public system. This is wrong. It is not worth the headache and stress . After three and half months of stress and frustration, I did not get any result. No patient should go through this. This is a private medical Clinic!! Act like a medical clinic. The office manager did not respond to patient's emails for weeks, either ignoring them or arguing back and forth about any routine patient questions. The only reason I endured the way I was treated by him for three and half months was because the doctor I needed to see only works at this private clinic. It was extremely negative and stressful experience to deal with this candidly unprofessional management. I did ask him repeatedly to speak to the director for over three months. He said that he conveyed my message. But, I was not given her email and she did not email or call me- a patient of their clinic !! She could take a few minutes to resolve this unnecessary nonsense issue which was created by her staff , which should not be an issues for any patient in the first place. I would have not written a review if the management/director had taken a few minutes to call the patient , listen to them and address the issues. This is simple Wrong. No patient should go through this headache.

Vancouver General Hospital: what do users think?
Jessica: I came in for a CT and found the two information desk staff to be incredibly rude when asked for directions and a face mask. I know health care workers are overworked and we are grateful for your service but.. Isn't the point of an information desk to provide information?
Assefa kebede: Excellent
David Jolivet: Easy to get around and nice staff.
Peter Clark: Busy
Ron Gallant: Easy to get around no stress
Marshall Miller: Great people 👏 👍 👌 fast service people are beautiful there 👏 may God bless them 🙏 they know what they are doing ty very much 😀 for all ur help I appreciate it
kathryn stewart: The medical teams at VGH are the best you can get. The care and attention they gave my son after his accident was top notch. We are forever grateful 🙏
Kevin Strome: I am currently in right now with an abscess in my throat and it has cause me a lot of pain and it’s been very hard to swallow I want to thank the nursing staff her for being very kind and very helpful and intuitive ion helping me figure out every way possible to take my pain meds SHOUT-OUT TO THE NIGHT STAFF AND DAY-So TAFF
nicole travassos: Clean, friendly staff covid friendly.
Jonine Rochacewich: I recently had ankle surgery, I spent three weeks on the orthopedic/trauma floor. The doctors and nursing staff were wonderful and professional, I know their jobs are especially challenging during Covid-19 and they work very hard. I cannot say the same for the two physiotherapists assigned to me; one was extremely rude with no bedside manner. Also, the hospital was not very clean. I realize the cleanliness could be a result of the hospital being short staffed.
brigitte cavanagh: Everything look fine. I had many small surgeries and 1 bigger, some nurses were not nice....but there is not much i can do about their staff.
Keith Johnstone: Well run. No hot water in some of the public washrooms tho
JOHN SHINNICK: This is a major component of Vancouver General Hospital.
Brenda Sachse: I can't thank the Doctors, Surgeons, and especially the Nursing Staff enough for the amazing work they do!

Richard Douglas Griffin: it would be nice to hear a human voice instead of a recording telling me to leave a message in the hope i get a call back i was told by doctor at Richmond Er that i would hear from the stroke prevention center today. I am worried because this is serous matter and when i called all i got was a answering machine. it would be nice to at least hear a caring compassionate voice on the other end. Strokes are a serous matter not to mention i am scared. that is all my hope is that maybe they may change the way they answer the phone.

JJ: Dr Dan treated me from the time I was 2 years old... an amazing, caring, knowledgeable, considerate physician. With his help, I made it through, stronger and taller than they thought I could ever be. My whole family loved him. Perfect working with kids. Thank you Dr Dan. 3 Jessica Jane
Aaron M: A wonderful, caring, thoughtful and intelligent doctor who is so dedicated to his patients. I had Dr. metzger as my endocrinologist for 18 years from age 1 to 18. Visits and checkups were so awesome with him. I attribute so much of my good health later in life to the education he gave me as a kid. The time he puts into his patients and the work he does is truly exceptional. The staff whenever I went made our whole family feel so comfortable and went out of their way to make sure we had all the knowledge we needed to maintain my diabetes in great control. Thanks Dr. Metzger, I’ll never forget you.Aaron M
Lois Nahirney: We couldn't be more grateful for the smart, kind, funny care and support provided by Dr. Dan. Truly we could not have had a more amazing endocrinologist working with our son. Thank you.
ShineTrue777: Dr. Dan is not only an incredible doctor but one of the most kind and caring people I have ever had the honour of knowing. He is genuine and has an amazing method of connecting with his patients, even though he feels more like family to me. When I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when I was 2 years old he helped me and my family take control of my disease. We would see him once a year and it was always a trip we looked forward to. Later on he connected me to a Diabetes Camp where I was able to bond with other kids who shared my illness. When I graduated from Children's Hospital it was bitter sweet, I only wish he could work with adults as well but if you or your child have the opportunity to see him, take it! Dr. Dan will change your whole outlook on care and make you smile while he does it. God bless him and all that he does for others! -A.S.

College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia: what do users think?
mehjabin patel: I have waited months to book an appointment and finally we got booked for my daughter regarding autism But the day we had appointment she called us that dr is not feeling well so we will book you for another day and I said okay so book us the day when dr is coming back so she responded that those days are booked so you will have to wait another month to see a dr. Now can anyone tell how it is our fault that we have to wait for another while other patients booked after us get to see dr first. She then responded then you can go ahead and complain where ever you want. Very unprofessional and bad attitude. I am officially filing complaint to board of physicians and surgeons.
JenNDaHaus: I've changed my mind about the CPSBC. It's fantastic because it's run by champagne socialist lizards, like myself. We're so WOKE, while you're all BROKE. Yay, Justin Trudeau!
Paul R: The College is a completely useless establishment. They didn't bother reading my complaint and started discussing something irrelevant altogether. Dr. Siavash Ganjbakhsh at Hilltop Medical Clinic completely lied in his response to my complaint, and when this was brought to their attention, they simply ignored it.The college did not address my actual complaint and only looked to assert the lies of this so called "doctor". They basically ALWAYS side with the doctor as if their word is that of a god and no person is allowed to challenge them. I genuinely do not know why this organization even exists. There's a reason the reviews for the college are so low. It's full of very lazy investigators that simply do not do their job, or bother reading complaints appropriately.
Kyler Markle: Joke establishment, no anonymity for reporting abuse. Do I want the person who I'd like to see their medical license revoked to know where I live? Obviously not. Doctors in BC claiming they perform "miracle healing" and trying to get people to attend their church, and this college does nothing.
C vdM: They don't take complaints about doctors seriously.
Sean Lehmann: Lots of complaints from patients. Doctors aren't happy with the College either. They seem to exist to only complicate matters for Physicians. Constant requirements and regulations. The very definition of bureaucracy. Doctors are drowning in BC. The College doesn't care.
Schmoobear XOX: Worst establishment. They won't answer questions. They evade facts because they don't want to bit the hand who feeds them. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation...the new so called "vaccines" are killing and gravely injuring people. Zero stars.....
darlene yee: Organization needs serious overhaul or shut down. What is the point of an organization that does nothing to resolve serious issues.
Katey Mason: Intimidating doctors who write exemptions for those who had extreme adverse reactions to any of the jabs, threatening to pull their license. Very corrupt!
steven loewen: Nice to see a doctor willing to fight for what is right.
Rose: Be warned- they won't do anything if you complain that Dr. Paul Milanese is abusing female patients if you don't make the document viewable to the abuser too. Absolutely no protections or shielding measures are available to victims.
Brian Verishine: Probably the worst govt agency i have dealt with. In 1 hr i accomplished more than they did in 8 months.i had the worst hip replacement in vgh history. Im now severely disabled. Dr clive duncanfalsified all my medical records. I told college my gp has the truth. They refusrd to contact my gp. The investigator basically asked me to take the lead on my own investigation. Ive withdrawn my complaint cause i refuse to be neglected any more. Total waste of time and energy. They should be ashamed of themsrlves for cashing a pay cheque.
Frank B.: I live in Ontario but I am hoping to live in BC sometime in the foreseeable future. But my situation is different in that I am learning disabled, have Aspergers, etc. I intend on applying for social assistance out there. Now, IF I'm lucky enough to get my own personal physician, then ok. BUT if I am forced to get a walk-in clinic doctor, then that will be fine too, at least I hope.. Anyway, we'll see how that goes. Of course, I can't get my hopes too high up because realistically, the likelihood of getting a new doctor out there is quite slim.
Jivan Grewal: Stop protecting surgeons with racist views. Do the right thing and license only competent surgeons that are fit to treat all patients with the same level of respect and service. Stop playing with the lives of citizens!
Paul Priest: I filed a complaint with the College about my family physician, Dr. E.E. Stockenström. The week after I had a myocardial infarction, I asked Dr. Stockenström to check my medication. He refused. As it turned out Shoppers Drug Mart had failed to dispense Brilinta. In his letter in response to my complaint, Dr. Stockenström asserted that it was not his job to check his patients' medication. The College disagreed. At the time I informed Dr. Stockenström I was filing a complaint with the College, he informed me that I could no longer be his patient. The College said Dr. Stockenström did not meet their expectations as he did not provide bridging. While I am happy with the conclusions of the College, I note that they lack transparency when compared to the College of Pharmacists of BC where I also lodged a complaint.
Brent Steele: Very unsatisfied. Still waiting for a decision - after a year. Is there any accountability ? I would file a complaint ith the BC Ombudsman ... but they are no better in my experience. Perhaps the local MLA ? We got rid of the College of Teachers when they lost credibility. Is it time again ? Beware people.
PS: Protected by the Canadian Medical Protective Association's $5 billion dollar war chest, of mostly tax payer money. This college does as it pleases, regardless of the law in my opinion. This self-regulating college refused to answer my questions about the complaints process when I called on multiple occasions. Instead, transferring me to a recording. Which instructed me to leave a detailed message, and someone would get back to me. No one ever did. My written complaints were submitted via courier, and signed for by staff. The complaints then went missing. The Chief Registrar refused to investigate the loss of the documents. My follow-up complaint against the Chief Registrar for obstruction and breach of trust were immediately dismissed by her friends. This self-serving college has demonstrated a compete lack of respect for the Health Professions Act in my opinion. I do not recommend wasting your time and money filing a complaint with them. As the outcome seems to be pre-determined in my opinion.
MrRythcan R: Absolutely useless organization like most governing bodies. Called to inform them that a walk-in clinic near me is using used urine specimen containers. There has even been complaints on google from others too about the issue. Potential health risk to others and contaminated tests. The collage didn't care unless I went through the whole formal written complaint process. What is this the 1980's where they can not take a complaint over the phone where it is recorded or online?????? Really it is 2019. Age of computers and cellphones lol. Good Job collage for failing the public once again in protecting them. Let use an outdated process that can take weeks to months to protect someone's life. talking to their receptionist is like most governing bodies. Robot with a script. She didn't care that there is a health risk to the public from a walk-in clinic. All she cared about is that it had to be written. If anyone has medical issues with used urine containers in Burnaby let me know. I informed the Collage they didn't care it is on them now.
Vicky Isdabomb: Dear college of physicians, I think it is of huge urgency that you investigate the Medlife clinic in North Vancouver. I believe from the rudness and disorganization of the receptionists that they have uncertified staff handling peoples private medical files. Please read the Google reviews about this clinic to see how many patients are complaing about the staffs rude and abusive behavior. Apparently the staff manager is also not certified to be working in a clinic yet she is managing staff in a medical clinic!!! I asked the reseptionist to talk to the office manager and she said no you can't and hung up on me. This behavior is beyond unprofessional and needs to be addressed. If I find out untrained/uncertified staff have had access to my private medical files at Medlife clinic legal action will be taken.
S Dedic: Why does this organization even exist if they can't do anything. They exist so u can make complaint so public think there are there they can discipline or do something about your case, WRONG!Had complaint about malpractice, even had other doctor that gave us second opinion write them a letter in support of my claim, as result they silenced doctor that supported my claim and did nothing to the other doctor even though they admitted the malpractice...We are making complaints in vain of course they do nothing, lets just ignore evidence they protect their own. Will sue doctor privately and will see if I can sue them as well.
D Bourassa: I am finding that more and more patients are being referred but they are handling the referral process. in my MOA days, the MOA would fax off referral for doctor. But i hear more and more clients booking with a referral in hand. Too many new physicians not knowing the process and only medical receptionists being hired.

Jordan: I didn't go in but I went orienteering fire campus and surrounding parts would go again I clocked 8km in 40 minutes pretty fire I love orienteering so much it's so fire
M C: The Triage nurses were a bit rude diagnosing a lots of children saying that they had the flue and to go home. The doctor I had last night was questing me on why I brought him in and minimizing my concerns. That was unprofessional. I would recommend RCH more!
Brittney H: Wonderful hospital
Rodnoel De Chavez: We are truly amazed to all the staff, the service, and great collaboration we experienced in BC Children's Hospital. To Pediatric Dental department, nurses, doctors ,surgeons all the staff thank you so much for proving us the high quality and efficient care services.
Adam Cai: Really friendly, all parents will be so worried their kid in the same time all the stuff are doing professional job. For the parking you have to pay for it, the emergency parking is only 4 hours so have to work out your time.
Roksana Darmofal: Friendly and professional staff. Sometimes you have to wait for hours, but it's worth it. Your kids are in good hands there.
Arigato Hae: Hi speechlessly amazing hospital,Thank you for raising me. I can't say enough thank you's.I decided to further learn business to pay you back in success.Consider 'tweak'ing your mission statement? (I sent a gmail)(It's 4 stars because of the meals.)Thanks, Arigato
anni: I’m so grateful of most of the drs and nurses. My 2 daughters were admitted at this hospital in December , staff were very kind and nice with me and my kids, thanks you so much for all your hard work 🌹
Davis Lim: At first the care and environment was great. After 10 months with my son at Nicu, the environment became toxic. There is a superiority complex a few doctors and nurses have and they have exaggerated and falsified information. They got MCFD INVOLVED AND NOW have taken away my right to see and advocate for my son and I have only seen him one hour this whole week and it is Friday now. I have no way to defend myself of the false accusations and wasted time in court Wednesday. And it will be a long road before I get to be a father to my son again. He is 11 months and 3 days old and has VACTERL and TRAF7. They want to force a treache on him even though he did well off his mask for 30 mins last month. Doctor and nurse was in the room at that time and video was taken. My mother was not permitted to visit my grandson just 2 days ago.Very unjust use of power and control I have experienced this last month. Hope there will be reform
Maria Huezo: *The worst doctor experience at Emergency side*.I took my baby to children’s because he was crying uncontrollably one evening. I thought it was Colic at first but he’s almost 5 months old and I assumed he was way passed that stage. He’s never ever cried like the way he did that day and obviously as a mother you worry for your little one. I took him to the hospital because I assumed that was the right thing to do. While we were waiting for a doctor he had about 2 or 3 more episodes of him crying uncontrollably like he was in pain and/or in discomfort. Doctor comes in, I can’t remember her name but she was an older Caucasian lady with glasses and very short grey hair. She was working on March.4th which was a Saturday in the evening. As she walks in, my boyfriend who is stressed and extremely worried explains to her about his cry and she interrupts him and says “well he is a baby and UNFORTUNATELY babies cry and there’s nothing you can do, have you fed him? Most of the time they just want to be held.. but yea unfortunately they Cry so welcome to parent hood” in the most rudest way possible, almost like she was being sarcastic.. and took the whole situation as a joke.I was very upset on the way she spoke to us, she made us feel like we were bad parents and that being there because of his “cry” was pointless.I’m not sure if she woke up on the wrong side of the bed and was having a bad day or if it had to do anything with our skin colour and/or because we were young but she did not take us seriously.Even though I’m a first time mom, we know OUR babies, we spend every day caring for them loving them and I’m proud to say I’m doing an amazing job. And if something doesn’t feel right you bet I’m taking my little one to the hospital and I expect help and/or solutions not someone to point out the obvious!!!I hope that this doctor is a little more compassionate and easy going with other new parents that need help because no parent wants to feel like a bad parent..!
Tu Le: I am extremely grateful for the exceptional service provided by the wonderful doctors, nurses, and volunteers at BC Children's Hospital. They went above and beyond to help my son remove a corn from his nose, making his stay at the hospital warm and memorable. I must especially mention Dr. Sarah Fetcher from the ER, who took the time to establish a connection with my 3-year-old son, Sora. She spent time greeting, chatting and colouring with him, which helped him build trust and follow her instructions eagerly. Dr. Sarah, you are truly outstanding! Thank you for your kindness, care, and compassion towards my son and our family. We are forever grateful to you and the entire team. Take care!
Hamed Adibi: It was very bad experience, tonight at 10:20 my son and I we entered in the emergency department and they asked us to wait after 80 minutes anybody didn’t come and do anythings. It was really sadly because when were leaving there, anybody didn’t ask us anything. Right know my son doesn’t feel good and try to sleep. If the feel worth we will call 911
Glenda Hawkins: We are incredibly appreciative of BC Children's and the superb care they gave to our daughter. We were given incredibly thorough, considerate, and compassionate attention. After being severely affected by RSV, our daughter required breathing assistance and an IV.The doctors and nurses are working nonstop to provide treatment for our children during this particularly challenging cold and flu season. We are so grateful to have access to such a magnificent and well-run institution. The team worked hard to make our daughter smile, feel heard, and protected during what might have been a very terrible event for her.
Tameka Davis: Both our sons have had experiences at this hospital. It is always a nervous experience whenever you have to bring your child to a hospital but the staff here are the most amazing, hard working, knowledgeable, caring people. The facilities are clean and child friendly with caregivers needs in mind. We feel very fortunate to have a place like this to care for our children.
Eden Chan: Went to the lab in children's hospital today for a blood draw for my 2 year old. It was amazing! It's walk in only and no booking , but when I was there ( Wed morning) it was no wait at all. We got to have the draw immediately. It was my toddler's first time having blood taken from his arm but there were 2 staff, one drawing the blood and one holding him, both were very supportive and super nice to my toddler. At the end there was no crying at all! Not a drop of tear was shed during the blood draw and he even got a little froggy toy.And when we were getting dressed back up and having some juice in the waiting room, the fun cart came by and my toddler got a colouring sheet and crayons too.I drove all the way from Maple ridge to here for the blood work because my doctor recommended ( they are better with kids) and it was totally worth it. It's especially important that no bad memories were created around lab work so he won't be scared in the future ☺️💝Thank you so much for your amazing work !
Zach N: People need to stop leaving negative reviews in the emergency waiting room. The entire healthcare system is struggling, and the difficult truth is that your child with a cough and fever was deemed to be lower priority. The nurses are amazing - extremely compassionate. The doctors are professional and kind. We are lucky to have access to this facility.
Training Video: Extremely bad emergency service.. my kid has been in pain for 2 hours and no one attend to him .. I walked out and see nurse playing on cell phone .. and doctors casually chatting .. I stood in front of a nurse and took her almost a full minute too realise I was standing right in front of her ..
Dialin Angus-Lincoln: Best nurses in the area 🤗
Strawberry Artz: I've always been very impressed with Children's Hospital and have always had the most professional care from conscientious, patient, and responsible doctors and nurses. But today, I was really disappointed when my daughter fell face down on her chin and land on her neck after a one and half front tuck .The coach immediately told me to take my daughter to the children's hospital. Because the position of the fall was very bad. We arrived at Children's Hospital at 6:30 and my sister could walk but felt pain from her upper back to her neck to her head.a littabout her condition and then we sat down and waited. The boys who came in at the same time or even three hours ago and fell without trauma were all assigned to rooms. My daughter was still sitting there, the only child who hadn't moved in the entire three and a half hours of the evening. She had neck pain and upper back pain, so I told the nurse, who gave her a collar. Then the wait continued. I went back to say my daughter had neck pain , Sitting for more than three hours made her more sore. Everyone went in but my daughter was still sitting there. The nurse said this is an emergency room and everyone comes in in a hurry. I totally agree, I have brought my kids or myself to the ER not only once or twice and I understand that the triage nurse will arrange for the patient to be treated according to their condition. But with a neck and back injury, there was room to arrange to lie flat, but nothing at all was done for three hours. This is completely unacceptable. After I told the nurse for the second time that my daughter's neck was hurting even more, she said if you feel pain there is a bed over there you can lie down if you want. That bed was always empty, but must the same thing be said three times before the child can lie flat? My daughter told the nurse the pain gets worse, but nurse just told her that you are fine. Even other nurse asked, she still said my daughter is fine and did nothing.
