Rick K: Update: they changed the menu and when I asked for the sidecar from the old menu, they didn't make it that way. Its good but this is knocking the place down a full star. I believe they charge and should be better than this.My review is drinks exclusively. They make some killer drinks but to be honest the sidecar is the best by miles. Do yourself a favor and order that first. Look if you hate it, hit me up and I'll buy you a drink somewhere else. Honestly soooo freaking amazing!!!!! Now there's a review, an offer to buy you a drink elsewhere if you hate it. Do yourself a favor, go to notch 8 drinks.

amber mitchell: Had an incredible birthday / early mother's day brunch with my daughter and mom at Notch 8. Every single item from the buffet was exceptional. Ample vegetarian options, and also offered to make fresh vegetarian eggs Benny. We thought it would be a fun fancy treat, more for experience than food but we were wrong. Excellent food all round, fresh, hot, and high quality options. The best part however was the service. Raluca D. was beyond attentive, thoughtful, and we all remarked it was the best service we'd had in recent memory. She also took time to acknowledge my daughter, which helped her have an excellent time also.Excellent and will return, thank you Raluca.
hanh tran
hanh tran: After seeing all the great reviews we decided to try the Cherry Blossom afternoon tea, however, we left pretty disappointed. The tea was okay (7/10), expected a little better for the price. Scones were the best part of the tea set (10/10), sandwiches were okay at best (5.5/10), with the mushroom teriyaki tasting nothing like teriyaki and the katsu meat was too dry and not tender. The dessert tier was thoroughly disappointing (2/10), the cheesecake was grainy, and some of the dessert pairings (cherries with the lemon pound cake) were too contrasting and overpowering. Service was great though but I wouldn't recommend this afternoon tea, not worth $74/person.

Donna So: Lovely little place to dine post shopping trip. Haven’t had a burger in so long and heard the Reuben and classic burger was a good choice so we ordered one of each. Unfortunately today their fryer was not working so there was no fries so we each picked a different soup.We originally wanted to walk-in for afternoon tea but found out it wasn’t offered on a Monday. However, our waiter was such a darling and gave us a tour of the high tea room. This seasons theme was cherry blossoms to celebrate the spring season. We definitely want to check this out before they change the theme next month.
Sitong Liu
Sitong Liu: A group of us wen there just for drinks, since a couple of us really wanted to try this place! I personally never heard about it, but assuming the location, the atmosphere, the price you pay, should be worth it. While looking at the menu, I noticed that you can customize your drinks by rolling the dice! So I asked the server if we can anything special from rolling the same dice? She mentioned if you roll all 3 dices into the designated number you can get a free drink. 2 of us get excited and wanted to try it. Later, the manager came by with the box and dice and explained that only happy hour would have the free drink rule! Too sad we missed it. Anyways, 2of us rolled the dice and tried this adventurous game, it was alright, nothing special. Mediocre drinks! But I ordered the salted caramel cheesecake, that was AMAZING, perfectly baked, it’s not too condensed and the caramel was just so good! I recommend to try it!

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver: what do users think?
Sarah Greenwood
Sarah Greenwood: An exceptionally modern hotel, room, bar/restaurant - everything you would expect for a very healthy price! Or should I say, top dollar. Amazing experience form the minute we stepped foot on the driveway out front. Exceptionally nice staff, healthy food and delicious drinks. The hotel rooms are like luxury condos, however, the TV's could do with an upgrade.
Jay Joyce '74
Jay Joyce '74: Disappointing at best...My wife and I stayed as part of a Regent Cruise Lines off-ship Vancouver excursion. We have stayed at various Fairmont hotels in the past, and always had a great experience. Not this time. After the first evening, we went to breakfast with what we thought was plenty of time to spare. Upon arrival at the Notch8 maitre d's desk, we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for the breakfast buffet - even though we could see numerous empty seats in the dining room. They explained they were short-staffed. I asked to see the hotel manager, and only the desk manager was present. I expressed my concern, and said that at a minimum, we should have been told when we checked into the hotel to expect delays in breakfast service (because we had a morning time commitment). He was not aware of the problem. When I said that I would like to speak with the General Manager about the problem, he indicated that the GM had not yet arrived, and he did not know when he would. However, he said that he would have the GM contact me. The GM never contacted me.The make-up mirror light in our room was not working upon arrival. The next morning (same day as the breakfast problem) I stopped by the Front Desk, and the receptionist logged in the problem and said they would have it fixed that day. When we arrived back in our room that evening, it still had not been fixed. I called and they said that someone would be up to fix it. An hour later no one had appeared, and I called again. Same response - they'd get someone up to fix it. An hour later, after no one appeared, I went to bed.Next Day - breakfast - no problem - they had opened more space, leading me to wonder why they could not have seated us at an empty seat the day before...?At 8:15 AM, asked to see the manager to discuss my concerns; same desk manager appeared and said that GM was not in yet. I told him about the lack of response regarding the maintenance problem, and that the GM had not contacted me the day before. Polite reaction, but no actionable response on his part. When we left the hotel at 8:30, the GM had still not arrived. We were told by one of the dining staff team that there have been recent cuts in hours. How can this be possible if you're already not providing the level of service that Fairmont guests have come to expect? After three visits to Vancouver over several years - all at Fairmont Hotels - we will NOT stay at this hotel again, and not recommend it to others.

Room service food was average, and our bathroom was a little small, but the staff was all 10/10 fantastic. We can't wait to stay here again, either as a romantic getaway or as a family-friendly option. Great location with city views. I can't compliment the staff or environment here enough!

Bernard Beck Jr: Had a fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel as we were getting ready to depart for a cruise. Staff was AMAZING. Will Lin took exceptional care of us during check-in, and was readily available with any assistance that we required during our stay, including being most professional in always calling us by name. The bell and parking staff were also extremely polite and professional. A ten minute walk to the pier and convention center, this location is near anything that you would require including a massive amount of restaurants and bars. The room was fantastic, clean, and we were fortunate (thanks to Will Lin) to get a room with an awesome view of the port.
Matteo Bocci
Matteo Bocci: 4,5 stars. I spent five nights in this hotel for a business meeting. It is impressive how this huge hotel is run in a seemingly effortless fashion. Everything was really good. My room was spacious, clean, with an excellent view. The bed incredibly comfortable, and the service almost impeccable. The only minor point I believe can be improved is the coverage and speed of the Wi-Fi connection. Perfectly located, really convenient to walk pretty much anywhere in the city. Thank you for having me & looking forward to another stay!

xx PreppyinPink: The worst restaurant we visited in Vancouver. It started pretty good. We walked up to the host and were immediately seated. Then we waited 20 minutes to be greeted by the waitress. Another 10 minutes for our drink delivery any then the waitress was back to take our order….so 45 minutes in we placed our order. It then took 40 minutes to get the first course a salad then another 60 minutes for the entree. We never saw the waitress again. We flagged down a busboy for water and tea while we were waiting and after 10 minutes waiting for someone to come back to check on us to take our plates or offer dessert we gave up and walked up to to host, requested the bill and left. The salad was excellent. The duck was dry. A huge disappointment all around.

Valerie Michetti
Valerie Michetti: What an incredible dinner experience! We were served by Lynn, who was attentive, kind and helpful with wine recommendations. The bread was warm, the butter was soft, and we were brought little fried cauliflower amuse-bouche from the chef to start us off. While we waited on the wine, we had some cocktails: a clover club for me (perfectly balanced; I find them usually too sweet), and a moscow mule for my husband. The tuna tartare was mouth watering; both sweet and salty, with nice big pieces of fish and avocado. We couldn’t get enough of it!For the main course, I had the ravioli with scallops in beurre blanc, and don’t think I could ever order anything else off the menu going forward. It was to die for! Make sure you hold on to a slice or two of bread to sop up all that delicious sauce. My partner had the seafood spaghetti, and while the dish was over-salted, it was cooked to perfection and was delicious nonetheless. We were seated within earshot of the pianist, which was so enjoyable all evening, and he played happy birthday for me while Lynn surprised me with a little dessert to celebrate! Such a lovely touch. I can’t say enough about this restaurant and the experience, and can’t wait to come back
Michael Purdue
Michael Purdue: I was dining alone, yet I felt very taken care of--nit a second class citizen at all. E service was fantastic and the did delicious. The oysters were very good and shucked well. The Italian Greens exceeded my expectations. I also had the herb--crusted halibut special. Th portion was just right. The crust was crispy and flavorful, but not overwhelming, and it did not dry out the rest of the fish. It was moist and silky. The accompanying vegetables were also prepared quite well and I was able to enjoy the individual taste of each. I cannot remember the last time I had such wonderful zucchini. It was cooked perfectly and tasted delightful, as did the carrots. Highly recommend trying Bacchus.

Sharon Richards: Dockside has improved again. Last time we were there was a couple of years ago and not great. Last night we had a lovely meal of starters. Pork belly was outstanding. Potatoes also delicious. Great cocktails. Great service. Even young Rex was very attentive by keeping our water glasses full and clearing our table. A wonderful night!

Jordan Reid
Jordan Reid: We came on a day that wasn’t very busy. Our server took a very long time taking our order. She didn’t come to even take our drink order before going to take a table of 16’s food and drink order. Our two person order would have been very quick. After this she went and billed out another table before finally coming to take our order. This caused us to wait almost an hour before getting our food- which was all we ordered.Overall, the food was good, nothing to write home about. Wouldn’t recommend. Mediocre food and not great service. But a lovely view.
Nicole Harpold
Nicole Harpold: Weird and disappointing. We stayed at the hotel and we’re so excited when we checked in to see a waterfront restaurant right at the hotel. After wandering all afternoon around Granville Island and shopping, we were looking forward to dinner on-site. At check-in we even received a promo coupon for a “chef’s choice” happy hour appetizer, happy from 3pm - 5pm. We walked into the restaurant at 4:40 and were seated no problem, they even had a high chair for our toddler, no problem. We put our order in for our promo appetizer, plus two other happy hour appetizers to share as well as 2 cocktails at 4:45. Waitress brought our drinks and our first appetizer (marinated olives) no problem. About 5 minutes later (4:52 by my watch). Waitress came out and apologized, and said our order had been cancelled by the kitchen because happy hour was over. Excuse me? You still have happy hour menus in the table, the signs and the cards you hand out to guests all day until 5pm, but at 4:45 the kitchen starts cancelling orders? Okay. Check please, we’ll take our business elsewhere. One star for the nice view and the very apologetic waitress who was highly embarrassed by all of it.
Thea
Thea: Food was good. Wasnt happy with our server victoryia though. She was nice but her service wasnt the best. We didnt get side plates when our appetizers arrived and we were starving so we ate it right then and there with no plates to share. She didnt even ask how our food was until she gave us the bill to pay. We asked for refils but they came 10 minutes later. She took our napkins away when she took our appetizer plates away and didnt give us new ones. My mom ordered clams (which were delicious) and she sat there for 20 minutes with no eyes on our server to get a napkin. It turned out to be so cold so we asked for a blanket and she took 10 minutes to get that. We asked to sit at a table that wasnt wobbly. I even said if its a big issue we can stay its no problem but she totally avoided the question and never came back woth an answer whether we could or couldnt move. For a dinner that was 300+ $ especially on mothers day it was such a disappointment to have a server that seemed to not care. We asked about 2 other servers to get us our bill because we couldnt find victoria and they all said theylle be right there but then go to their pos system and then walk right away far away from us. I understand we might have been annoying and asked for too many things but its expensive eating out and we want everything to go perfect. We most likely will never go back to this restaurant just because of the service we received.

Very reasonable prices for the amazing location. Highlight was Lara's amazing service! She was efficient and attentive with a warm genuine smile. She made an early Mother's Day dinner ever more special. Thank you Lara. Beautiful view, good food choices, easy parking, and great service!Parking: Lots of reasonably priced parking.
Joel McCooey (The Tough Critique)
Joel McCooey (The Tough Critique): We decided to dine here since we we’re staying at the Granville Island hotel. First impressions were good and the service staff were attentive. The first plate we had was the Wagyu Beef Carpacio. This was delicious and well plated. Accompanying this plate was the smoked olives these were very good although only some of the olives on the plate were smoked. Ok, good start. The mains were overall lacklustre in all ways. Lacking in presentation, flavour and overall composition. I can guess that this could only be attributed to the fact that cooks in a kitchen are only as good as their training. Perhaps if there were just a little more over the shoulder looking by the head chef these plates would come out cleaner. I will say that whoever wrote the menu did a fantastic job. i did want to order everything on it.

Eat Eat (Icaneatanelephant)
Eat Eat (Icaneatanelephant): It was our first time here, we liked the environment here, nice and quiet, great service, great food, and very reasonable price. I didn’t add as a special occasion when we book online, however through the conversation they found out is my bday, I didn’t expect a card and a tasty hazelnut chocolate cake. The wine ! One of the spots, the white wine was very fruity with clean after taste, fruity as actual fruity not the sweetness, it is very pleasant pairing with my cream sauce halibut. The halibut was just cook right ! Not too cook or raw, it’s just prefect .The red wine as I rmb is from California, its buttery and a little spice, very good with the sirloin steak, the sauce is also a hit, a very good recommendation of the wine pairing from the server Todd.Sorry to mention your name here but I truly appreciated your service with heart and in details. You did shown your passion of what you are doing. Just nothing more I can say. You did a great job!We will surely come back when it’s getting hotter.Service: full starsFood : fullEnvironment: fullFree Parking after 18:00 as I rmbCheers,

Lisa
Lisa: Celebrated my bday here early April and had a pleasant experience with my sons. Food was tasty and fresh. Oysters were delicious but a pricey at $5 a piece and they were tiny. Not sure what kind of oysters. Truffles on the pasta was quite expensive, I didn’t realize. Service was friendly and prompt. Nice if you can get a window seat. But walk outside of the restaurant by the water is refreshing.
Alex Rose
Alex Rose: I came here this evening for my birthday dinner with some friends. We were really excited after hearing great reviews. We ordered some sharing plates and most of them did not seem fresh or had a very unpleasant taste. We were given a discount and had some plates taken off the bill but the bill was still high even though we did not touch barely any of the food. I hope others don't have the same experience.

Enno S: It has an incredible view over the city and it's quite fun to point out things you see/ places you've been while you rotate. You see waterplanes and helicopters landing and a bit of the harbour. The restaurant is pretty expensive, but if you go during happy hour and order a beer or two (CAD 8-9) you can stay for a while and make a full rotation (60min). The staff was very nice aswell.

We went at happy hour (3-4) and got a window side table. The view is unreal! We got cocktails (great) and apps (ok) and our bill was $68, plus tip.We enjoyed our drinks and got to see a complete revolution (1 hour), a 360° view of the Harbour and Downtown.I will go back as soon as possible. Oh, be sure to ask for Vicky, as she is a blast.

At one point I was waiting for a biscuit for over 20 minutes (after asking two different people,) and when I finally asked someone again, I saw that the biscuits were just sitting in a heated basket right behind us.No one apologized, not even once! In fact, after the biscuit incident, I think our server purposely avoided making eye contact. It was pretty odd.Don't recommend.

As part of Amex we had a deal for the restaurant and the hotel. Breakfast was covered as part of Amex. We had 5 meals at this restaurant and it was the best all the time. For breakfast our favorite was Benny with Spinach and caramelized onions. The hollandaise sauce is out of the world. We also had Pancakes and Avocado toast. We paired it with a latte onee time and cappuccino another time and a smoothie both times. For dinner our favorite was Butternut squash soup. We also tried the Sablefish, Cobb salad, Veggie burger, Lentils and Chicken wings. All the items were delicious and sufficient quantity.Update: Came back here after a year and a half and the food was better the last time around.

Mary W
Mary W: The Sylvia Hotel, in the heart of Vancouver’s Westend is one of Vancouver’s best hotel locations. We loved the hotel views of English Bay, walks along Seawall, watching the sunsets from the beach and being so close to Stanley Park and Granville Island. The Sylvia Hotel, built in 1912, is a designated heritage building and its ivy-covered exterior is quite charming, but the interior of the hotel is quite dated with it clunky worn wood décor. A variety of factors can determine how comfortable a guest feels at a hotel; including customer service, room cleanliness and the types of facilities that are offered. When a guest checks in to their hotel room, the first thing they are likely to see is their bed, whether it looks inviting, clean, comfortable, and presentable, and then the bathroom for thick, fluffy towels. While our room was clean and comfortable, the bed linens and towels were tired. During our 4-night stay we only had one meal in the dining room. The pan seared wild B.C. Salmon was dry and overcooked and the AAA prime top sirloin steak was so grisly it was almost impossible to cut a knife through it. It’s the little things that make all the difference and with attention to detail, The Sylvia could change their rating from a three-star to a four-star hotel!Walkability: English Bay Seawall, Stanley ParkFood & drinks: Close to great restaurants

April Heyman
April Heyman: It was nice that the restaurant could accommodate 12 people at short notice. No other restaurant could. But we waited over an hour for our food and other than a couple of us who managed to flag the waitress for a second drink, she never did a drink order for the whole table in that whole hour. The food was horrendous when it did arrive. Only one person in the entire group was happy. He got a steak. We got cauliflower that was frozen in the middle, poke bowls that had clumped rice and warm raw fish, a completely burnt burger patty with burnt bun, the veggie yam bowl was small enough to fit in a small ziplock, cold mash potatoes, cold fries and cold salmon burgers. Hard, dry donuts too. It was just sad. Actually worst food any of us have ever had. If it had something to do with not enough cooks and a massive group, they could have warned us and just brought our food out at different times so it would be fresh. The people who sent their food back got something decent in return. Also, apparently I was told when I asked for a table that they can’t split the bill!?I thought she was just warning us about the 18% gratuity but apparently they can’t do separate bills and we found out at the end. We were all shocked because this has never happened anywhere else. Fortunately our server was kind enough to give it a try and she did it just fine. No mistakes on the bill and she took some meals off. She apologized about the food and was sure to remind us it wasn’t her fault, it was the kitchen’s fault and that they wouldn’t be getting any tips. We thought that was kind of unprofessional, especially considering there were a few people who were not impressed by the service either. The tip became optional after she split our bills so that was good. We could tip how we wanted. That all being said, I have been to Lobby a few times for drinks they’ve been fantastic. I would recommend them for drinks only. And maybe the food is better in smaller groups? I don’t know. It was just a very disappointing food experience.

Max Carter: We went to The Lobby Restaurant for Christmas dinner, and they did not disappoint. We needed to make a reservation beforehand as the restaurant was very busy. We had a private room to have dinner in, which was pleasant, although it was right near a footpath and the room had big windows, so it wasn't very private. The waitress was lovely and was a great caterer, but she did seem quite stressed, perhaps because it was a busy night. The food took a while to come but it was delicious. There was a lot of flavour in every bite. However, it might be best not to come with kids, as the food options were not very kid friendly (raw meat). For starters, I had the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, which was delicious, and my first taste of raw beef. As for the main, I had the Fraser Valley Turkey. It was a bit dry but still very tasty and filling. As for the dessert, I ordered the Eggnog Cheesecake, which was tasty but very rich. Besides the cost of everything, this was a very memorable Christmas dinner.

Efficient, but could use some attention and kindness.Ciopiino was clearly sitting in a heater for way too long, all the seafood was rubber. Wagyu carpaccio and salad were actually quite good.Mains were pretty disappointing. Although the protein was cooked nicely, the sugars in the cherry reduction for the duck was burnt, pretty much ruining the dish; accompanying spaetzle was bland.Short rib was dry and overdone, had a distinct scent.Sablefish was very nice and buttery, great portion size as well.Found everything a little underseasoned overall in my taste.Would come here for just a beer and the view if I had an hour to burn, but I’ll favour somewhere else for dinner.

Sarah: Came here for Dineout on a Thursday at 6:15pm. Out of the three entrée options only one was available. The server was nice but rushed us - leaving no time to think of any other options after realizing we were not able to order the dishes we wanted. This restaurant opens at 5pm for dinner, so I have no idea why both the chicken and oyster mushroom entrees were not available. It was also not busy, so it is very odd why we were so extremely rushed. Perhaps they were understaffed, but at the end of the meal the server (although nice enough) took our cards and tapped the machine himself saying that he would be faster than if we did it. As he rushed us incredibly, there was no time to think before he already took the card out of our hand to tap the machine.Overall, this Dineout was a fail for our group as the only choice we were able to make was of the two appetizer options. Only one option was available for the entrée, and there was only one option of dessert to begin with. If the food was amazing, we would not have minded as much.. but nothing came out hot, just warm, and the cuts for the main were very inconsistent (one of us got meat that was twice the size of another one). Same with the dessert, some of us had a cluster of pecans with barely any caramel drizzle while another only had only one pecan but more caramel drizzle. Seems as though things were rushed inside the kitchen as well.

Hans Sy: Came here for DineOut 2023.Menu offers 3 mains: Beef Brisket, Chicken, and Mushrooms. Coming in as a group, we wanted to try it all, but they only had Beef available, unfortunately. We ordered by 7pm, but the other tables had ordered all of the other chicken.Food came, but wasn't hot and ready. Very filling, but beef was a little dry. Cant help but feel it was rushed.Atmosphere and vibes were beautiful. Waiter was rushing, but very kind, almost over bearingly?I feel the location was understaffed, which would explain the quality my party received throughout the evening. Hopefully things improve, I would give H2 another chance. At this price point, I do expect more.PSA: A gratuity is not a charge. This location insists they charge 18% for large parties. Which is fine, I dont usually dispute it. But if I could tip, I would give 12%.
MsLucre CAS
MsLucre CAS: If you are a Filipino diner, avoid this restaurant! One female Filipino reception-server (wearing black uniform with shoulder length hair) at abt 9am, was so mean to us. We requested for a window table & she said "if we were willing to wait." We took the offer to sit down using non-window table. When one window-table became available in-front of us, I approached same Filipino staff that I was speaking with & asked if we could move to that & she said "NO, you can't have it & besides you only have an hour to dine here, we are closing soon." She gave the table instead to a Caucasian diners. We were left feeling speechless. It is a shame that she didn't appreciate us because we happened to be Filipinos too. Worst - it was like telling us "you can only dine for an hour!" Then, another Caucasian staff approached us & she was not patient to take our orders & left. The staff appeared to be serving well the Caucasian diners than Filipino-looking diners. We were going to walk out but decided to give it one more chance. Kareema (non-Filipino staff) by chance noticed that we had been there for long & nobody was serving us, and she was kind enough to take our orders. I told her about the humiliation that we were having & then suddenly the same Filipino server-staff came back to us and kept on explaining her reasons and blah blah blah, it was very shameful that she came back to us three times to tell her reasons infront of everyone - very loud & arguing with us. We really felt very humiliated. If not for Kareema, we would just walk out. One Filipino-server-staff was bossy on us instead of giving us the best experience as it's a new year. This place sucks if you are Filipino diner! Repeat and repeat ---- if you are a Filipino diner, go somewhere else and AVOID this restaurant/hotel because you do not want to be humiliated by a bossy Filipino-server-staff. She should NOT be in that restaurant if she could NOT appreciate a Filipino diner. It is a shame on her as the other staff members were nice to us.

Fairmont Pacific Rim: what do users think?

Hossein s: We went to the Botanist with friends. The food was excellent. Especially the lamb was delicious and fresh.Obviously this place is fine dining with its special prices. The food quality was indeed at the level of its pricing. My only issue with the food is, and this very subjective, the presentation was over crowded.

Tim C.: A bit of a background, I have a very long history with Fairmont PacRim ever since I discovered it back in 2012. I have made many return visits several times a year and basically obtained Accor Diamond status just from Fairmont stays alone.A lot has happened since my last negative review of this place. It was in the transition to a new management team and new staff on the gold floor. I am happy to say that all of my issues with my previous bad experience have been rectified, and it is now once again among the finest properties I've had the opportunity to stay at. (Even compared with some of the most exclusive European boutiques!)Jasmine and her entire Fairmont Gold staff have everything dialed in. They remember our preferences, and try their best to make each of our visit special from extremely generous upgrades to little things like setting up desserts in our room. Although a lot of familiar faces have left to pursue new ventures, I am really liking Jasmine and her team. Her attention to every detail is what makes our visits so wonderful, and I am looking forward to enjoying many more stays at this world class property.

Vincent Silver: Above and beyond the usual strengths from the Fairmont brand (prime locations/ luxury amenities), this particular Fairmont delivers on an experience that is second to none. The service is tirelessly outstanding and consistent from the doormen, front desk, bellhop, dining, bike attendant, valet to the concierge. The foyer has a bustling vibe but it’s so well staffed. Dining is busy as well so I appreciated how eager staff are to accommodate. The established work culture at this location is so rare to witness these days (it’s why I’m writing this review). I booked with my Amex this time and received more perks than when I booked directly with Fairmont in the past. Regardless, with or without the perks, this hotel offers incredible value; Canadian hospitality at its finest.
Sam Wong
Sam Wong: Location is amazing. Room is not styling but very well settled in details. Room amenities are upscale. The harbor view is stunning. Food and service in the restaurant are fabulous and impeccable. However, the service from Front Office staff is not up to par which ruined the whole experience of our arrival AGAIN in two months. Last time we booked the partial harbor view room, but we got a room on the very lower floor with buildings and swimming pool view in March. Today we check in at 5pm, we were informed that the room is not ready. We booked through AMEX ( been called “the 3rd party” from Front Office) which is entitled noon check-in if available. But considering it is long weekend we chose to check-in late in order to get the room instantly while checking in. We were shocked while the FO staff informed us that the room was not ready at that moment. After a chat with the Front Office Manager, we immediately got a clean room which is exactly our room type. We were even more upset with the experience, so we were wondering why we could not get the room which is already been cleaned and ready to check-in. Instead, the Front Office wanted us to wait since room is available. We have stayed with Fairmont for years with Accor member. While we were trying to let the front office hook up our reservation to the guest profile, they told us they could not do it, and kept saying that as the system been changed, there’s no guest data been kept in their new system, except for Accor member. Front Office Manager was shocked when we let her know that we do have the membership.I am not sure what exactly the reason why they did not provide us the ready room while checking-in. I did not know the excuse that why they refuse to look for the guest profile.I just feel like we are not welcomed to stay at Pacific Rim.Maybe I should book through other channels instead of through “the 3rd party” like American Express.Sure thing is for our next staycation, we definitely won’t stay with Fairmont Pacific Rim

Nader El-Ramly: Stay at the Pan Pacific downtown due to some unexpected renovation nightmare. Turned it into a tourist in my own city vacation. Staff were amazing, great rooms and beautiful views! The location is perfect.Walkability: Great walkability. Close to lots of attractions downtown Vancouver within 15 to 20 minutes walk.

Stefanie Wills: I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff, food, location and value are all wonderful. My bed was so comfy. My room was on the 19 floor and I had a very small room but it amazing view of the harbor and mountains. My only gripe was that because of the automatic curtains they do not go long enough and the bright light woke me up every morning at 6 am and the seaplanes outside make a lot of noise. I hoped to have a soaking bath but the large bathroom and shower made up for sit. Other than that, it was perfect!

Shailesh Dalmia: Disgusting check in. Long queue. Each check in taking about 15 mins per guest! I mean wow! In todays age n time when it usually takes in about few mins. Were Centurion Card members and had put in an early request for check in at 12 noon but they allotted room only at 3.15. Waited for more than 3 hours. We kept on checking with the check in desk at regular intervals and they said that the room was being cleaned. This continued on for about 1.30 hours. We guessed that they had taken a “vow” not to allocate the room before 3.Anyways we waited. No choice. At 3pm, still room not alloted. Thats the time we decided to meet the Guest Relations manager. I just asked her that such a big hotel, couldnt they accomodate a single room early. The Guest relations manager replied with a curt no. I would have expected her to be a bit apologetic but her behaviour was rude. She said were just 15 mins late and looked as if its a big deal! Then she asks me what can she do? Im not the kind of client who looks for favours. Not me! Would have appreciated a simple sorry and a body language being sorry about it. But this was: WoW! She was not bothered. This is really sad. It seems just business for her.Ive stayed earlier at the hotel and would hold it as one of my most favourite stays.Really disgusting this time. Not staying next time for sure.
