Nana's Green Tea: what do users think?
Rz: Beef curry, tuna donburi were good but portions were very small. Matcha latte really good and not sweet. Matcha parfait is the best thing, although maybe there was a little bit too much cream.
Chen: Recommended dishes Hojicha Shiratama Float, Matcha Shiratama FloatMore
W: Matcha lovers' paradise. Ice cream not as creamy as other places but great nonetheless.Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Jane: Matcha loaf tastes good!
K Lee: Destination spot for sure! If you love matcha you will love this place! Did not explore the lunch but the desserts were fantastic! Large variety, so hard to choose! Definitely need to come back for more.
Sarah Wade: Great place for Matcha lovers and the workers are friendly and helpful I would come back.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Victoria Nguyen: Their parfaits are amazing but as a matcha lover that has been to Japan, I do not recommend their matcha lattes. It was bitter and has no sweetness, which tastes nothing like what I had in Japan. They will give you sugar packets when asked but I was rather disappointed because I paid around $7 for a small. The place is aesthetic for a cute hangout with friends but not a place to work/study because there’s no public Wifi or outlets available (just a heads up for fellow students!)
Very Hangry Guy: Had their hot Matcha Green Tea. Very good, quality beverage. All their desserts looked good, but did not have any. Worth a try. @veryhangryguyFood: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Megan Chui: Expensive and small portions. Ordered from ubereats & 3 things were missing out of 9. They used to be good, but now, not sure I would return.
Brijendra Nag: Great places, a ton of menu options for both matcha and hojicha. Loved the fact that they dishes aren’t too sweet and the flavour is just perfect, really well made and beautifully presented. Solid dessert or cafe spot and would highly recommendVegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian
Jonathan Lim: Cozy matcha café. Lots of dessert and drink options hot and cold!
Nicholas Kong: I like Nana's a lot more than Tsujiri. Their pastries are very nice as well. We always get the hojicha/match shiratama float!Update: prices have skyrocketed and you need minimum one item per person to dine in. Food quality stayed the same!
Nancy Chang: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
May Tong: If you’re a Matcha lover like me, you shouldn’t miss out this place!!!I’ve been so disappointed by the matcha drinks I’ve tried in any drink shops, you can only taste light and watery. But this place makes the richest matcha drinks I’ve ever tried. LOVE IT! 😍😍😍I got the Matcha Shiratama Frappe and. Basque cheesecake. The ice cream is covered by matcha chocolate coating, which makes it more creamy and flavorful. That was AMAZING. And Mochi is so chewy and yummy. And the cheesecake has surprisingly rich matcha flavor too. Strongly recommend!!🍵🍵🍵
A. San Pedro: Really good dessert! Definitely get their soft serve
Rachel: Very bad serviceThe girl banged the machine on counter just because I wanted to add a drink to my orderHorrible experience
Homing Fung: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Grace Yip: The parfait and tiramisu were good and portions weren’t too heavy. Pretty standard dessert cafe.
chloe: Decent matcha soft serve. Would like it to be richer and less sweet, but it's creamy and tasty overall.
Charles: Anything matcha related is authentic. The lattes, ice cream and parfaits kinda remind me of my time in Japan. Mochi is so-so.The lunch options however, are laughable, especially the portion sizes, not worth the price and the taste is subpar. I strongly suggest sticking to the dessert options if you do come here.
Annie Yu: TLDR: Overpriced… small portions. But hey, the aesthetics of the food was nice!My friends all felt very unsatisfied unfortunately with the meal size and quality given the expensive prices. I would definitely say skip the savoury foods, as you have a better chance of being less disappointed with the sweets! Also, be aware the store smell takes a while to get used to. We saw two bugs around (one silverfish by the cashier lolol and a spider near the table)

Konbiniya Japan Centre: what do users think?
jurgen Spang: We found everything we needed for our cooking adventures!
GLENNFLY Ho: 貨品相當齊全,價錢合理
Brad Marflund: They have stuff you need but pricey even compared to Fujiya or Sakuraya. Plus check expiry dates here! Too often we’ve bought stuff and get home only to see some items’ expiry dates are well past.
Sharon B: One of the best Japanese place I’ve beenThey have all kinds Japanese from beauty products + ready made food (onigiri) and ramensDon’t forget to try their crepes w ice cream! Best crepe I’ve ever had
Carson Leung: We are fortunate to have Konbiniya in our neighborhood! The moment you walk into the store it’s like you’re transported to Japan. I’m very grateful to the owner for creating this little slice of paradise on Robson.
Wai Wai Wong: Excellent place for Japanese snacks. Go there every week. Glad to see the new staff at the cashier smiles.
YVV Dude: Never buy origami rice ball at night. The rice is already hardened, kind of disappointed. It should be good when it was fresh.
Natasha Mehr: If I could provide ZERO stars, I would. The customer service at this place is sub-zero. I have witnessed rudeness by the old and grumpy owner in the past & just let it slip, thinking the old guy might be too tired, but hey, if you don't have patience, hire someone! The inefficiency and impoliteness we witnessed, made us finally make the decision to never shop at this place ever again! This place employs only two extremely slow female workers to make crepes and while they make crepes, they don't bother to have someone serve the soft ice cream from the machine which takes less than a minute for several ice cream cones while the two females waste so much time making a few crepes. It sure isn't a smart business choice, as they can make MORE MONEY serving soft ice cream cones every 30 seconds on a busy day, rather than WASTING 15 minutes to make a few crepes!!! Their crepes aren't the best either. Too bad the French Crepe shop closed due to the lock downs.Anyways, last Saturday, we waited over 15 minutes to get the ice cream the children wanted, as the two customers ahead of us had ordered four or five crepes each, and it took over 15 minutes for the workers to prepare their order, and the second customer was still waiting for her crepes that were being made in a sluggish pace while chatting on her phone & chewing gum very loudly, while children in the line got upset.Yet, there was no one to serve the soft ice cream to the poor kids waiting in the long line!!! Three kids decided to leave DISAPPOINTED without ice cream. Two mothers with children, could not wait any longer, and they too, left while their children got sad. A lady standing in line behind the customer who was waiting for the crepes asked the slow and RUDE Asian worker if they could get someone to at least serve the ice cream (which takes maybe 10 seconds for each cone), but the unprofessional said, "we are only two people here with so many crepes to make, and by the way, you should pay inside the store, and then come here and wait for your order".We got quite annoyed and left, and so did the couple in front of us. Never coming back to this pit again, as there are many other places serving delicious ice creams and other desserts in the area.
Keyvan Radbin: Nice foods here and getting to know with Japanese culture
Emi: I always make a stop here to pick up Japanese products I can't find in Alberta. Great selection of products and friendly staff.
Michelle MY: Best price for natto in the Vancouver area
Nicolas LAURENT: 夜遅くまで開いているのですごく助かります。うどん、米、中華の合わせ調味料などをよく購入しています。
Francesca Murray: A bit small on the inside but clean and lots to choose from, n friendly service.
Noah MacLeod: So awesome! Love it, definitely stop by if you're in Vancouver. I got my new favourite meal replacement here. This is 100% better than Mr Mike's.
Joaquin L: Wide variety of Japanese snacks and food.
Julie Bond: Fun, fun, fun.
Andrea J: What a fabulous variety of goods. Lots of candy and other choices.
Claudio Higashi: You have to try the oniguiri! Delicious and fair price!
Joana: Authentic Japanese convenience store. They have the biggest variety of items I’ve seen outside of Japan. A lot of the stuff is only marked in Japanese, so buying is a bit of a guessing game. The food we got was good though.I bought a skincare product there, before realizing that I couldn’t carry it back on the plane. They were nice enough to refund it even though I threw away my receipt.
Bryan Tung: Tons of great Japanese foods and drinks here! We love coming here when we visit to try and check out the Japanese items we cannot find anywhere else in Canada.
ccfishy: Lots of variety options, snacks, food, cosmetics, etc!!! Price is alright.

Uncle Tetsu’s Japanese Cheesecake, Robson Street: what do users think?
Danushka Bandara: I was excited to try the Japanese cheesecake as I have had it in Japan before and loved it. However, the product here is sub par and the service was worse. I went there Thursday afternoon around 1 pm. I bought a chocolate cheesecake for 15 dollars. I saw that they also sell madeleines and wanted to get one. I had three dollars cash and asked if I could get one for three dollars. Apparently the price of a madeleine with tax is 3.05, and the cashier refused to sell it for me because I didn’t have 5 cents to give her. I was a bit surprised as I had just bought 15 dollars product from her. Then the manager came to me and proceeded to lecture me on why the five cents was a big deal. I found it a bit odd. In any case I thought that even if the service was rude, their product will make up for it. Alas in my case the product was mediocre at best, it was cold cheesecake. They didn’t provide or ask if I needed any utensils. So I went to a nearby bakery and borrowed utensils from them rather than talk to the rude staff at this establishment. Cold cheesecake makes sense for American style cheesecake but not for Japanese style. My experience was one of the worst I’ve had at a bakery. Please train your staff on being polite to the customer. Also bring a single product shop, you should aim for better.
Diego Esperanza: Japanese cheesecake and madeleine for take out.Airy cheesecake 5/5Honey madeleine 5/5It was very busy but the line up was not crazy. They never let the customers down in the endless line up. I love it.I’ll come back again in the nearest future.
Stephen Long: I'm not a fan of super sweet desserts. Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake really appeals to me as a result. We tried all the flavors which included original, matcha, and mocha. They were all good with a spongy texture which is similar to angel food or cake to me. My favorite was the mocha which is similar in texture and flavor to tiramisu. I also had a Madeline which was not too sweet and reminded me a little bit of a cross between a cupcake and Jiffy cornbread.
LY Kan: it is the worst uncle tetsu cheesecake I have tried in the world. no matter I have it in japan/ other places, it should be hot or freshly basked by the staff. At least, i can feel some warmth. Yet, this one is completely cold and you can see the water droplet of the cover. Despite the tatste is the same, but this one the texture is very moist. the polyester cover is full of water droplet. we walked a Long way here to buy a cake is expecting fresh, and when we ate it outside the shop and realized it is not the same as the usual one, they said it is stated to be heated with microwave. well, it is not the quality I am expecting for tetsu cheesecake . definitely no more in vancouver.
Sally C: COLD CAKE!The so-called manager gave us a cold cheesecake (tasted as if it sat on the table for hours) and refused to exchange it for one that recently came out of the oven. In Japan’s branches they always serve hot cheesecakes which taste 1000 times better than cold ones. Do NOT go to the downtown Vancouver branch. It’s not worth your money!
Mahsa Ghaffari: Delicious cheesecake and Madeline. The warm Madeline in the morning was a real treat.
sabrina teles: This is my favorite cheesecake by far. There isn't any dessert like this. The product is fluffy and fresh. Whenever I go to Vancouver and pass by I buy one.
Ankush Arora: Always used to passby the outlet, and the aroma of preparation was a pleasurely invite everytime. However, the taste did not stand out anything exceptional at all. I would give it a one time try for anyone, but don't have a 'wow' expectation.
Drake Shafer: Mr. Tetsu must have felt pretty lazy today beings they stopped selling cheesecake an hour before close. Walked an hour to get here and cried when I saw they were sold out.
itscolleenk: Loved this place!! You can’t go wrong with cheesecake, and this was my first time trying Japanese-style cheesecake! Super fluffy and light, and at a great price $15/ea. We stopped in after an afternoon of shopping and there was a like out the door!! That’s how you know it’s going to be good.Definitely go for the Madeleines as well - they were some of the best Madeleines I’ve ever had!! Super fluffy on the inside and quite large. Will absolutely be back!
ANGEL ROMERO: The best pancakes I've ever had!!!The people who serve you are very friendly. The place is very clean and well located. Without a doubt I will return a thousand times more! I love them! You should go, you will love it!!60915385216332
Ritika Jain: Tried the coffee cheesecake from Uncle Tetsu's and loved the subtle flavor and the feel of the fluffy cheesecake! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect dessert after dinner :)Order ID: 718450521RT0001Feb 8th, 2023 at Robson St. Vancouver.
Val: This cheesecake is one of the softest I have had. It is like taking a bite of a crossover between a wet cloud and a marshmallow. I don't think it's a favorite for everyone but for those craving something mildly sweet to go with black coffee, this is a great cake!
Yin Hindsight: Their cheesecake's look so delicous but honestly I was a but disappointed. The yuzu cheesecake had almost no yuzu flavour and only had about 5 small peices of yuzu in it. Apart from that it wasn't very creamy or cheesy. It was light and fluffy but that's about it.In hindsight if it's called a yuzu cheesecake, I would appreciate it having a more full and bright flavor of yuzu to make it worth while.
Simmi Sharma: Original cheese cake very yummyMy mother also like it Tooooo yummyMust try
Theresa Tsang: Uncle Tetsu cheesecakes are great most of the time if you love Japanese style fluffy cheesecakes. Both the original and chocolate cheesecakes are great! However, my most recent experience with the matcha cheesecake was somewhat disappointing. First of all, the size was probably about 2/3 of the cheesecakes I've purchased previously. I've cut half of it up before I remembered to snap a photo, but even with half of it you can see how the cake has shrunk. Judging from how wrinkly it looked when the cake was whole, I'm suspecting the cheesecake didn't rise properly in the baking process. Also, the matcha taste wasn't very prominent. Hopefully next time when I return for my favorite chocolate cheesecake it'll be a better product. If not then it's time to look for something else.
Atmaja Swain: They are so good. The cheese cake, the MADELEINE box, customer service everything is on point. They are so fresh and yummy.
Ava Yeganeh: I really expect something extraordinary. It was just ok, nothing special.
Sébastien: Love the fresh cheesecakes there
Helen Fang: Sitting in bed eating this cheesecake honestly the is the best thing I’ve eaten during my trip to Vancouver. Light fluffy perfection
Saide Nur ALP (saide’s): We all love its texture and taste. And also it wasn’t too sweet👏🏻

Annie Hoang: staff is cool
Karin Shamardani: Everything looks amazing amazing
SeotByul Kim: The mochi ice cream’s here are insanely good. There’s a variety of flavours to choose from and definitely the mango was my all-time favouriteRecommended dishes Japanese Mochi …More
Aly: The honey cranberry mochi SLAPS
amimeow: I know Japanese sweets usually have short shelf/best before periods (but less than a month is just shady) . I went to pick out a gift for my doctor and was in a hurry, so I didnt think to chk the date (I also assumed J sweets still has high standards ) I found out right after I had paid that it would expire in less than 1 month. And the staff told me all their stuff had same date. (As if that was believeable). I WILL NOT give my doctor this coz no one gives a gift that will expire in less than a month (unless fruits)! This place is expansive, shady and not worth it anymore. Stay far away!
Amanda Ip: The customer service is very poor.
Grace: The mochi here is amazing! My favourite was the raspberry mille-feuille, it’s creamy inside with some crunchy bits. It’s recommended to let them sit for about 15 minutes first so they defrost a little before enjoying them.
rhiannon cee: OH MY GOD the mochi is spectacular!!!! the most beautiful delicious mochi ever (and I love me some mochi) customer service was great, sorry some people had bad experiences....its unfortunate I don't live there...but good for me financially....I could spend alot of money there....see you next time!!
jiwon choi: Very poor customer service. Google map shows closing at 7pm but they actually close earlier than 7pm. The manger is very rude.
Kaman Kwok: Selection of Royce Chocolate is fairly limited. They don’t have many dark chocolate choices nor any pure chocolate collection. Very disappointed.
Kelvin Fong: Mochi Cream is good! Pricey.
S C: Went here this afternoon, decided to buy some treats for my friends and family as I do not live in Vancouver. I bought 5 boxes of EXPENSIVE chocolates, along with some Mochi's. I told them the kind I wanted. Watched them pack them into bags, then I paid and went on with my day. When I arrived back home, I noticed that they did not add my mochi into the big bag. I called them to see what they could do, not only did they say there was nothing they could do. But they told me to come back to the store. It's an hour commute. Clearly customer service is not a given here, but not only that. The first time I called them, halfway through the conversation the worker hung up on me. It was hard speaking to the worker as they were ESL, which I understand. But its absolutely frustrating when they say there's "nothing we can do," when clearly it's THEIR FAULT.
James Inouye: Great service, tasty fresh mochi.
C Z: Overpriced for those who want to pay for pretty packaging and little else.
Eva Lin: It’s okay mochi. It’s nothing spectacular in my opinion, but I’m not a foodie. I do enjoy food and is really picky - it’s something to try once if you love mochi.
David Wu: Service is friendly and eager to help. The Mochi is from Japan and was quite delicious. I would go back for more.
Andrea: If you have a loooooo t money. This store may help you to pay the IQ tax that normal people don't really have to pay. For a normal taste desert it's over priced. FYI you can get the same thing in T&T for lower price.Service is poor, even you see there are 3 staffs in the store, no one comes to help you. Tried one time and never gonna visit again.
Marcus Wang: The mochi was delicious, the staff was friendly and provided good service. Except the mochi was a little too pricey.
Sab L: The mochi here are soo yummy! Many options to choose from. Staff can be more friendly though..
Hsin-Ju Lin: The mochi is delicious, i also bought their maccha senbei and tsuya, they are both delicious. Best japanese sweet shop i every been so far.
Anna P.: The only store in Canada that carries Royce chocolate. They’re very expensive, for a small box, Royce chocolates are around $30 before tax but they’re perfect gifts for every occasion. I bought a few boxes as birthday presents. The Royce chocolates are not too sweet and definitely more suitable for the Asian palette. I highly recommend the Nama Chocolate - Orange and Mango flavour. Only con is that this type of meltaway chocolate needs to be refrigerated (an ice pack was given to me with my purchase).I also tried the mochi and highly recommend the sweet potato, one of the best mochis I’ve ever had. Again, not too sweet and you can really taste the little bits of sweet potato- does not taste artificial at all!

Miku Vancouver: what do users think?
Z Just.Z: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Brussels Sprout Chips, Sashimi PlatterMore
Connie Ono: If this is your first time visiting Vancouver, Miku would be my top recommendations on your itinerary list for places to eat. Now, this isn't your typical sushi restaurant, in fact, I would consider this to be fine dining and here's why. When it comes to Japanese food, presentation is the most important next to customer service level, and they are bang on. I absolutely love how intricate their sushi layered to simplicity on a plate. Reminds me of a zen garden. The waiters/ waitress' are knowledgeable of their dishes being served and super friendly! Dishes are, at minimum $20, but the portions are decently sized. (Anything with Wagyu will always be expensive). They do offer gluten -free and vegetarian dishes and non alcoholic drinks.(I had their Shiso Nojito and it was the most refreshing non-alcoholic I've ever had. Not too sweet either).Overall, I would highly recommend it for first time travellers to Vancouver. It's absolutely a beautiful place to dine in!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free available
Ayushi: I loved this place! Sushi was so fresh and flavourful. Our waiter was so kind and informative, he really knew the menu and provided great recommendations. Worth every penny!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Aburi Sushi, Green Tea Opera, Sashimi, Salmon Oshi Sushi …More
Keith C: We had the 7 course Kaiseki dinner and were very impressed by the taste of most of the dishes. Also, the portion is very large and we found it quite heavy.Favourites are the insanely tender fillet, the Hokkaido scallop, oyster, and fresh sashimi.Few of the menu items were a miss, such as the Uni (Sea urchin) which we found not fresh at all. And sake pairing was late for one of the courses.Overall, this was a delicious meal and definitely recommended. We would have liked some lighter dishes that were not fatty-protein-focused, or slightly less portion for lower price (like the omakase platter at the end). Bring a large appetite if you are ordering this tasting menu!
Junky Mailhai: For the price, I thought that it’s an okay place. The food is fresh and the service is good. I didn’t love the sushi. It was good but not amazing. At CAD $50 per person, I felt that it could be a bit more than what it was. The salmon sushi and the soba noodles were tasty.Recommended dishes Sushi …More
niloofar tavasoli (Nillicious): I can say one of the best sushi places in Vancouver, freshly made , delicious, and a great variety of Japanese foodRecommended dishes Sashimi Platter, Sushi …More

Milly 楊楊: Our server Kana was the highlight of our dinner She was so thoughtful! Never let our tea or water run low. Made wonderful suggestions tailored to each of our taste! I myself am vegan so she even thought to come up with something not on the menu to make sure I have a different variety of entree 😭!The food and the service is equally amazing!Thank you Kana for a great time!

Alexander Chan: Went to Minami last year and had saved Miku for a special occasion. Food was great and the space is really nice, but was disappointed they changed the surf and turf roll without changing the name.
t t: Sushi in Vancouver is an obvious choice and I visited Miku recently for the first time. Due to its popularity we weren’t able to get a reservation for dinner but came as a walk in at lunch time!! Great service and atmosphere, views right in the harbour. If you love sushi you 100% need to go here.
ミスタードーナツ: People go here for the pressed sushi, which is pretty awesome, but their protein selection is pretty impressive to. Try the lamb, try the prime rib.
Séhèce: Such a travel in my mouthFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Joel Chan: This restaurant was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and had surprisingly large portions. Our server was professional and attentive. My ribeye steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the sablefish was also delicious. The surf and turf role was excellent and I would order it again. The view was also lovely during dinner.
Chris L: I love Miku! Every time I’m in Vancouver I make sure to go and get the tart in my photo. In fact, on my last trip I went four days in a row for lunch. Definite must try when I’m Vancouver.Recommended dishes Salmon Oshi Sushi, Sashimi Platter, Aburi Sushi …More

David Geiman: Recomendo fazer reserva para não esperar muito. Os sushis prensados e flambados são realmente muito bons. Um pouco caro mas as porções são generosas. Atendimento um pouco lento pois estava bem cheio.
Homesteading Heather: Best food I've had all year. Staff were friendly and helped me choose some great dishes. View was amazing!!! Bake49: what do users think?
Doug Hallett: My son brought home 4 croissants, 2 savoury and two sweet. Everything was fantastic, probably the best I have ever had. The ham and cheese with mornay sauce was decadent yet light and flakey. My wife thinks the almond croissant is out of this world.
j j: Best cream puff
Vivian Nguyen: The cheese tarts and cream puffs are only available after 2pm!!! Came here the first day in the morning to learn this. Came back day after about 315pm and all the cream puffs were already sold out. Quite disappointing but still tried the cheese tart which was rich and flakey
Thiago Diniz: Delicious pastries
Kanako Sakurada: Their cheese tarts were really good….5 stars!! Flaky crust with generous amount of tasty but light cheese fillings. The cream puff was beard papa’s style but long in shape and extra nutty coating on the puff. I liked the texture but the filling was lacking flavour….3.5 stars.
Simba Chang: Meh, the goods are not even fresh when we got it, it’s so stale, so cold, and in the same fridge with other item and the cream literary taste and smell like other baked goods, that’s not good. Don’t sell those items for customers, please keep it fresh.
Francis Leong: Very delicious cream puff & cheese tart. Highly addictive…. Thumbs up !!!!
Abhishek Das: Have been here a few times. The cheese tarts both the original and the strawberry are really light and well balanced. The creampuff is also quite good. The croissants were average but overall its a nice spot with great pastries.
癲子圍觀: As popular Cream puffs bar, 1 pc .over $5.00+tax+tips15%,That's your ideas ✌️✌️
Lisa Chan: B49 Bakery and Coffee located in Yale town. Known for its Japanese cheese tarts, cream puffs, cheesecakes. We went late in the afternoon so only thing left to try was the cheese tarts. Super soft and light with a crispy crunch once you bite into it. Yummy! We’ll be back. No seating or parking. Pop in to order and take away, you won’t be disappointed.
Yusheng Liao: Tasty tarts.
Alex Unro: Ham & cheese croissant is the best i’ve ever had here! Grab a cheese tart too
Marzieh Minooee: Best almost croissant
Joanne Johnston: Great Experience here!
Katherine J: great experience!
Derek Goodswimmer: Awesome, awesome cheese tarts. Like, crazy good. Oh, and their cream puff right now might be even better than the tarts! But ya, as far as the tarts go, definitely stick with original. The strawberry one is actually pretty decent, too! It's just that the original is flawless. Muah! As far as only giving four stars, pretty much just because of their hours. Closed Monday and Tuesday and only having the tarts ready after 2 pm. Booo. XD I just salty because I want them now and always lol.
Hui Chun Hsu: The best croissant I ever had!
Holly Gibson: Always great quality and friendly service
Little Journey: Doing really well in Japanese cheese tarts, filling is creamy and cheesy yet the crust is crunchy.
Meline J: We passed this shop in the evening on weekend. I wanted to try their croissant & pastry but they already sold out. So, I bought their cheese tarts.- Original cheese tarts: the crust was flaky and good - baked perfectly! The original cheese filling was creamy and tasted good. However, I was disappointed since the filling was very runny (more like liquid cheese) and it was dripping on my hand. I had cheese tarts before so I know it wasn’t supposed to be this runny.- Matcha cheese tarts: the crust was good. The filling tasted good and I could definitely taste the matcha flavor. However, the filling wasn’t set properly. It was a bit better than the original but it was still a bit too soft & runny in the middle.I’m not sure why the cheese filling was runny and wasn’t set. Maybe it was the end of the day and the cheese tarts were placed on the hot tray all day (?). Otherwise, the taste was good and I might try them again next time. I’d suggest to come there in the morning.

Kanadell Japanese Bakery: what do users think?
Tori Lhug: I really want to like this place. It's very cute and the staff are nice pretty much what other low reviews state: the baked goods are expensive and bland. Also: My cup was open with milk in it while the Espresso was being made and the barista sprayed cleaner and wiped the same counter my drink was open on. The one barista is serving food, making drinks, taking payments and cleaning all at the same time. The spraying cleaner beside half made drinks has to be a violation.
EvilestDuck: I love the curry pan and the melon pan is so good as well. While it may be a little expensive I have paid around the same price for a lot worse quality and taste
Rachel Stolberg: I just want to eat everything here. The melon pan is perfectly fluffy and chewy. Ask about the green tea cookies they are amazing but they keep them in the freezer in the back. Very convenient location by bus, right at the Kootenay Loop at the R5 stop, you can hop off, buy goods and hop on the next bus and continue on your way.
Timothy Dyksterhuis: Yummy pastries and very friendly service!
Eric Prothero-Brooks: Great selection of hot meals, using their own bread which was just perfection. I could have eaten two of the karaage sando's.The baked goods are a great selection of bakery staples you'd find in Japan as well. Very cute and super tasty. Can't wait to come back
Misaki Ha: This cafe is one of my favorite one. The location is not good actually, but they have good taste breads. Especially, I like "Bear bread" and "Melon pan". They are great taste and sugar is not too much. I recommend you have to bring some big bagges if you go there. because I'm sure you will probably buy them a little too much!
HereForYou: Good quality authentic Japanese bakery!! Some very cute freshly baked goods although a bit pricey.
Helena: Cozy atmosphere & very attentive staff; everything looked so cute and delicious! Opted for the nutella filled animal buns and the black sesame latte, and was super delighted. Just the right amount of filling and the buns were very fluffy! The latte was served just at the right temperature and was nice and sweet. It is also possible to order it cold and sweetness to your liking. Overall, it was a great experience and will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu. 💖
Susan Machan: Super soft bread!
M J: Stopped by to pick up some bread the other day. They have such a wide range of bread: takoyaki bread, matcha melon bread, original melon bread, etc. The bird and bear bread are adorable. The food is delicious. Service is great and the shop is welcoming. It's best to check their hours before visiting. Highly recommended
Tracy: Super cute & unique items & VERY AUTHENTIC JAPANESE BAKED GOODS!! I don't usually eat baked items, but this bakery offers really unique foods that are tasty & homemade.
T C: Very fun bakery cafe to visit. Cuteness overdose and it would put a smile on your gf’s face. Plenty of choice from burger to sandwich as well. We picked up a few bread and they all tasted alright though not something that will blow you away. Good and fun experience to visit there at least once if you are in the area. But expect parking to be bit tough to find nearby.
A: cute seating area and great variety of japanese baked goods to pick from-a handful of items containing mochi
Juan Nino: It was very delicious, the service was very friendly and fast, I recommend this place if you want to try something new, going for a chill snack and have a pleasant time eating something good, the place is super beautiful, perfect for insta pics - aesthetics 👌🏼 I recommend you the Curry Pan - IS SO DAMN GOOD !!
Diane Blue: Great Japanese bakery, friendly staff, amazing selection of treats. Busy! Lots of locals but I came from across town to check out. Was not disappointed. Will be returning to try their entire menu of both sweet and savoury items.
Baking Arts Academy: The most authentic Japanese breads in town!Must try deep fry curry pan, super crispy and crunchy. The chicken custard bread as soft as my pillow, the mochi soybean powder bread are very special, melon pan is very transitional Japanese taste.Yum yum
Matt Haydon: Mmmmmmmm curry pan.
Hollis Schmidt: Truly some of the best buns in the tri-city area! They have inventive pastries, discount day-old bread, and great prices! One of the few affordable AND terrific cafes left around Vancouver. Never change, Kanadell. Yall are amazing!!!
Serina Nakamura: Everything here is delicious but the earl grey jam and milk jam are especially amazing! Very good quality and the most authentic Japanese bakery in Vancouver in my opinion :)
Spencer Worobec: Super yummy, with a really nice variety of sweet and savory items. I enjoyed the coffee jelly drink as well. The person at the counter was very nice.
Rose Chan: Great variety of breads and lunches

Bon Crepe: what do users think?
Kanako Sakurada: Love their Japanese style crapes!! It’s softer and thinner than the French original ones and lots of things (usually sweet) inside. Most common things insides are fruits and cream but my favorite is pudding one. Not too crazy about their parfait tho.
Jakub Fritsche: Best crepes in Vancouver, try 26 or 54 and you won’t be dissatisfied!
Noella Chu: The matcha ice cream is good, price is reasonable.
Any Liu: Great soft serve. 🍦 When they open. Not sure why, but they sometimes close early, and they have a different hour than the convenience store attached, so don't be fooled. Otherwise, you may be too late. 😂
Sally: It tasted awful.
Deepnath Majumder: Tried a crepe and a kinako ice cream. The ice cream was really good, but I would have preferred a bit more ingredients, I felt there was a little too much vanilla. The crepe was excellent. The staff were super friendly and provided good recommendations.
Viktoria Tsiokou: best crepe with Nutella, strawberries and cream I've ever had!
ZHEN CONG: Texture is like slush. But it’s one of my must go green tea ice cream on Robson.
Kristen C: The yuzu soft serve at Bon Crepe is a must-try. For only $3.99, you get a delicious and refreshing treat. The yuzu flavor is very distinct and not too overwhelming. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The texture is also incredibly smooth and creamy. Overall, it's a great value for a delicious and unique dessert.
Daniela: Whenever I come to Vancouver I have to eat a crêpe from this place (any of the sweet ones are good, have not try the savory). Not too much sugar, just perfect and warm. Highly recommend :)
Vi Nguyen: Been having crepes here for a while. Came today to order a crepe and the girl was wearing blue gloves to prep my order - very good. But then she started cleaning the space, washing dishes using the same gloves. And continued touching my crepe, flipping, waving and rolling it. Please pay more attention on food safety.
Tianhui Yang: Got their matcha soft serve with a waffle cone. It was light and fluffy but the matcha flavour was very mild. I personally prefer stronger matcha flavours and would choose places like Tsujiri over this - hence the 3 stars. If you’re into mild matcha flavours (more sweet and creamy) then this place is for you!
Aamir Sheergar: I quite enjoyed the Matcha parfait, worth a try. It comes with both soft serve and hard matcha ice cream, vanilla ice cream, vanilla ice cream, sweet red bean paste, matcha Pocky, a wafer, and some cereal at the bottom.
Sacalamachia: So many choices and easy to find what you're looking for, great quality and service.
Jennifer Wang: Picked a normal ice cream crepe with strawberry. Tasted good and price was also decent.
Thu Nguyen: Matcha ice cream is so great. Decent taste. Not too sweet
Mustafa Tuma: Yummy!
R L: Tried the pudding crepe. Maybe not my best pick as it's more of a novelty flavour. There is literally a giant pudding in the middle of the crepe, and they serve the crepe with a spoon. Not sure if that is unique to the pudding version but it wasn't needed. The crepe itself is good and pairs nicely with the whipped cream. The pudding could be more flavourful. I think a softer, creamier pudding reminiscent of a creme brulee would work better. As it was, it was a little too stiff and cold. Though it could be for structural integrity. It did hold up very well! No mess at all.Very fast service. Limited seating (two tables) outside.
Jeff Mack: Had great memories of this place in the 2010s, but looks like the former chef is no longer there and doesn't seem quite the same. Still worth checking out though.
Vicky Chuang: tasty! ! !
Angeline River: Good ice cream!

Buttermere Patisserie (CAFE): what do users think?
Samantha P: Beautiful cakes and thoughtfully constructed. I've ordered several times for different occasions - birthdays and Valentine's Day. They have not disappointed each time and consistently deliver quality that matches their prices (which is higher than most cake and pastry shops). What is unique about Buttermere is they infuse a lot of Asian and Parisienne approaches and touches to the make of their cakes - meaning they are not heavy, have a lot of intricate details, and blend flavours from fruits and ingredients that are linked more with Asian cuisines (e.g. matcha, papaya). The only (constructive) criticism for them is that current pickup of cakes must be at the same restaurant space as Torafuku. It's neat but often quite crowded at the door where others are showing their order number and waiting for their cakes to be brought out. Also, the delivery service they used has been horrible in the past - making mistakes with delivery of cakes - though this is not a fault of the Buttermere operation (but for the tremendous amount of frustration, that's why there is one star less).Otherwise, a fantastic local business worth supporting - can't wait to see all the different creations in the coming year!Addendum:Buttermere is closing as of June 10, 2023. So very sad. Vancouver is losing a pastry talent and wonderful small business. Hopefully Jamie the owner and pastry chef will reconsider and open back up in town again. Really can't find another business (and taste) similar to hers!
Felicity Carter: I ordered the Banoffee pie for my husbands birthday and it was AWESOME. I was called into work last minute and couldn't collect during the agreed time, but the staff were so kind and flexible. They worked with me to make alternative arrangements. Will definitely order from these guys again.
Donna So: I only have good things to say about buttermere. Their cakes are works of edible art. Perfect for a celebratory centrepiece. We picked one up for Mother’s Day and our mom was impressed. Sweetness is just right, not too sweet like North American cakes.
Laural Miles: We're impressed by Buttermere Patisserie. I live in the Kootenays and ordered a chocolate number cake for my niece's sweet 16th. The order was handled thoughtfully and professionally. The number cake was amazingly beautiful and I'm told, delicious. Delivery time was accommodated. I will be ordering again in the future for my nephew's birthday and I have no doubt Buttermere Patisserie won't disappoint. Thank you for being a very special part of my very special niece's sweet 16th birthday. Definitely deserving of a 5 star review.
Arindam Hazra: Loved the services and the product from Buttermere Patisserie. I reached out Buttermere with my request very late but the services were awesome. The request is prioritized and they delivered the cake right at my home in a specified time. Also I like to acknowledge the great tracking app they use - that updates real-time about the delivery progress and this helped me plan without any hitch. Finally the cake is exactly what I wanted and we loved the taste ! Will go back to Buttermere anytime I would need a cake :) :)
Liana Huang: Delicious cakes! We always order for special occasions. Super tasty, high quality, and wow factor. Five stars.
Jenny Onsamer: Ordered a couple cakes from here. In my opinion the cakes taste amazing.
Dennis Hsu: I always order their cake for special occasions and this year I ordered their 3 layer wedding cake! My wife loves it! Great service always!
Rong Wang: The taste is disappointing and the price is not nice. I won’t recommend this place to my friends.
Andy Shum: The best birthday cake I've tasted!
Mel W: I've ordered multiple cakes from Buttermere before and have been really impressed with the combination of flavours and aesthetics of the cake. For my wedding, I ordered a 2 tier naked cake from them and once again, they never failed to disappoint. The chiffon was very moist and soft, flavours are AMAZING! i will definitely be ordering from them again
Vanessa Yu: The cake ordering process was simple. But be wary of using the second location pickup. It was delayed several times. Better to save the extra $5 fee for pickup in Richmond. Just go to the Main St location. Unpredictable delivery times.
Tina Z: Ordered the 6 pack of snow skinned mooncakes for $68 and was sooo disappointed. Tried the taro one (image below) and not only did it look super factory made but the mooncake was super dry and terrible. You're better off buying Taipan mooncakes which are much more delicate and smooth and don't taste like dried up paste.
YJ Oh: Thought it is a fresh cake, however, it was frozen one and not that fresh and the taste was so-so. I feel this cake is overpriced.
ggslk: It gets 2 stars only because the cake part was actually edible. I ordered a chocolate trio cake that’s supposed to have ovaltine taste but I can’t taste anything ovaltine. What’s worse, I ordered this cake for my husband’s birthday specifically asking for a fondant topper of my dog. I even sent them a picture of the fondant topper I wanted. They replied they can do an edible print topper, but didn’t say they don’t do fondant anymore, despite sending me sample cake pictures it’s fondant toppers. I didn’t catch in the email that they are to make an edible print topper instead. Charged me $15 extra for the “edible print” topper. Picked up the cake and didn’t see any fondant topper but a print that’s just stuck on cardboard. I asked why isn’t it a fondant, they told me they stopped making fondant a long time ago (but the pictures they sent me had fondant toppers!) Well it’s on me that I didn’t read their email carefully it did say “edible print” topper and not fondant, but I can’t say I wasn’t disappointed as it wasn’t something I expected. The time came to cut the cake, told my husband it’s an edible print. Took a bite and it’s just a lousy desk-jet printout of the picture I sent them stuck on a cardboard. That’s their version of an “edible” print topper? Am I supposed to eat paper? I was charged $15 extra for a print job that I could’ve done at home myself. Terrible! Definitely my first and last time ordering from here. Pure disappointment.
Evgenia K: Our order of Berry Lagoon cake turned out to be a big disappointment. Overall the cake was unremarkable and tasteless. The middle part was frozen (seems like they prep and freeze cakes in advance, but no one at the shop mentioned that), other parts tasted stale/dry — strange and unpleasant combination. And sadly but not unexpectedly we ditched this cake and ended up in another pastry shop up Main Street for a better and more delicious desert option.
Katherine Jiayin Zheng: Oh let's take a minute and admire the cake. It was the most beautiful cake I had ever seen, and I still could not believe it was our wedding cake. The service and communication were good, delivery was on time, and the cake tasted better than we had expected. Our guests dropped out of the dance to get in line for it; that's how good the cake was. We picked the Vietnamese coffee flavour, btw. 200/10 recommend their wedding cake.
Margaret Yu: I am from New Jersey and have to order a cake for my cousin who is celebrating her birthday. I called them yesterday but no one answered. However, Pauline called me back. She was very gracious to help me with my order. She requested that I order online, and she will make sure that my cake will be delivered today. It was delivered as promised. My cousin loved the cake, and she said it was one of the best she had for a while. Thank you for making it a wonderful day for her, Buttermere P.
Shirley Lu: I ordered a cake, cupcakes, and pillow cakes for my wedding. Everything looked amazing and tasted delicious. The guests loved them. Big thanks to Buttermere!
Sydney Tian: Ordered a birthday cake for our friend. $50 for a tiny tiny cake. On website discretion, it comes with gold leaf on the top. Our cake doesn’t have the gold leaf and the price is the same. Overpriced cake with an very ordinary taste. Super disappointed.
ELISA Gao: The Easter eggs are stunning. But the shop is really inconvenient to get to.

Castella Cheesecake Partner Store: what do users think?
Jackie Garraway: They no longer sell castella cheesecakes even tho their website says they do ☹️
Hailey Rae: Impossible to find. Drove around 4 times trying to locate this store
ThisIsIndoLife: Good
tapiocacake: Delicious cheese tarts, and amazing service! Would definitely come again.
Prithu Banerjee: Best cheese tarts in town
Scrumptious Foodie: The cheese tarts are soo yummy and best served warm 😋🤤. To enjoy them after dinner, we warmed them up in the oven before indulging. We will be back to try other delicious pastries. The cheese tarts are packaged in a beautiful box.
Kevin: cheesecake is the best!! must try
Oscar Kwok: Loved their cheese tart! It surprised me because it tasted just as good as the ones I've had at Pablo's. Would definetely come back!
ET: If you do not prefer people ordering 1/4 size of your cakes then don’t offer it on the menu. We wanted to try out their cheese cake but we were full from dinner, so we ordered two 1/4 pieces to-go. The owner looked displeased and told us the cake will be better as a whole for take out (lol wut). When we paid he didn’t even say thank you.The cheese cake and tarts taste good but the owners attitude left a sour note.
Todd S: Omg. Go. Do it.
Adventure Archive: Cheesecake have consistent texture and flavor. One of the best I've ate in Vancouver.Regular cheese tart have great texture but a little too salty for my tasteSoft cheese tart wasn't my favorite. It was like eating yogurt.
Tian Yu: It's in a small corner of a bubble tea cafe. There's no Castella banner visible outside. I had to look for street number. If you love egg tarts but think hey are too sweet and you love cheese, you will definitely love those cheese tarts!Fresh ones are constantly being baked in the oven. The baker told me most people prefer the texture after they cool down. I have to agree they do taste better after cooled. Are you guys planning to open one near Surrey? Vancouver is kind of far.XD
Leo Pan: Very clean environment with excellent service and fairly priced menu items. Staff were friendly and made a excellent creme brulee.
Jacob Lee: This place is my saviour! Whenever my girlfriend is upset with me I just gotta get a box of those tarts to cheer her up! Even though it’s mostly for her, I do get my share ;)
Jennifer Wong: Amazing service! To be honest lots of old grannies come in and ask the cashier questions and end up not buying, but still the cashier explains everything really nicely. I applaud to that. Not to mention the desserts are really yummy too. My family always get their ice cream cones when we pass by during our nightly walks.
Madhumanti Mandal: Really delicious cheese tart... Reminds me of my experience in Japan with Hokkaido cheesecake.. this Kerrisdale location is small together with Bobba boy.. but they have everything including tart, icecream and souffle cake. I would not recommend the Creme Brulee though, but the cheese tart is a must try. The cashier guy gave me detailed instructions about how you store it and not to eat it warm for best experience.. I really appreciate that. My new favorite dessert place now, would definitely come here often..
Jennifer Liu: Very tasty cheese tart with two of my favourite flavours~ Definitely worth a try
Meena D.K.: Went in to buy ice cream for the family at around 8:00pm 12 July 2019. No one at the till. No sign or note saying they’d be back later. Nothing. Waited for someone to come, nothing. Asked Boba Boy staff if there was anyone who could help us, nothing. Said guy was in the back, eventually checked, he wasn’t there. Just gone. Went in to buy something, had to leave with nothing as there was literally no staff.
Ghassan Al Zein: First time trying Japanese ice cream and cheese tarts. WOW!Amazing taste, freshly baked every hour, and not too sweet. Ice cream is new to Vancouver and it's got a different flavour. Must go back and definitely recommend it to everyone.
ian chen: Love their cheese tarts
YIXUAN HE: great food good service
