Kensington Judo Club: what do users think?
Claudio Lira Meirelles: Very friendly, my son love
mind kontrol: This gym offers a fun and competitive atmosphere for practicing judo and Jiu-Jitsu. Whether you're a veteran of the sport or just starting your journey, Kensington has you covered! Highly recommended!
Sony Sahota: I’ve been training and volunteering at this dojo for 8 years. I can honestly say this is not just a judo club but a positive culture of community and support. Everyone is welcome: beginners and advanced.Kensington Judo is unique since it’s possibly the only dojo in the province to have classes virtually everyday both daytime and evening. With so many programs (kids, adults, competitors, groundwork, private lessons, women’s self defence) it’s easy to find what you are looking for.I’ve noticed the goals of the staff is not only to help newcomers on their judo journey, or advance competitive athletes, or produce excellent coaches; but to take the philosophy of judo off the mats and carry it with you in your daily life.Do yourself a favour and stop in for a chat.
Enrique M.: My daughter really loves the FUNdamental class! The teacher is great with kids!
Sophie De Champlain: Very welcoming! Seems like a great place for all levels.
Sam Roberts: I used to practice Judo in my teens and 20s, and now my daughters are practicing here. They love it. The instructors are fun and encouraging, and have a good mix of technical instruction and Judo variations of popular games. I like that they are having fun, and learning how to roll, tumble, and wrestle around.
Petra F: great place to train Judo, excellent instructors
Donal Finn: Truly awesome in every way a Dojo can be....and I want it to stay that way, so if you're a tool, please go train elsewhere.
Ray Goerke: Very friendly, chill vibe with high quality training and instruction for adults.
Kern Chiu: My kids really enjoy this judo club. Smaller and intimate...more focussed training. Darcy, Andre and Dave are great instructors and make it fun that my kids look forward to judo night every week. My kids had done tae kwon do before but didn’t enjoy it with all the testing..so a friend told us to let them try judo as it teaches many life skills such as break falling, confidence and respect. Financially it’s also a very affordable activity for the kids.
Nicole Collard: Great coaches! They have an excellent coaching style and are great with the kids. My son has been attending the dojo since October 2018 and loves it! I’ve been impressed with the quality of instruction.
Diesel Diet: Awesome dojo!!! I had summer off last year and so I had the opportunity to train with these guys. Everyone is friendly and helpful but most importantly, their training style is safe, realistic and very technical.I only wish they had morning classes as well.
ali bordbar: Amazing dojo to train at!

Vancouver Martial Arts: what do users think?
Jess Bobby: Had to put in my info just to see the class schedule and since then, have been hit with a multipronged attack of text msgs, emails every 2 days, and phone calls. I was interested before, but not anymore...it feels too desperate. And yes, i know the text msgs and emails are automated...but it just creates more work for ppl to actively unsubscribe.
Anne CZ: I only got as far as inquiring about this place so my review is solely based off this experience. I submitted a request through their website to get info about their programs. Shortly after submitting the inquiry request I received both an email and a text message from the instructor Alan. He was quite prompt with his responses and suggested that I drop by the facility to get a tour of the place and more information then. He was also accommodating as his suggested times didn't work for me and he was able to suggest alternate times that worked around my schedule. During this time of figuring out what times would work, I received another email from Vancouver Martial Arts in response to my inquiry. I was a little confused as to why I also received this email but I shrugged it off thinking that maybe it was an automated email that gets sent out to those who inquire from their website. Unfortunately, I ended up changing my mind as I had decided to go ahead with another facility (decided I wanted to do something other than Taekwondo) prior to the tour we scheduled. I gave Alan a heads up that I had changed my mind and he was appreciative of me letting him know. Probably a week after, I received a call from Vancouver Martial Arts asking if I had time to talk - I'm assuming about the programs they offer and I let them know I had went with another facility. I was a little confused as to why I received this call but I have a feeling that there is a lack in communication between the instructor and the people who manage inquiries from the website. I also think that it would be nice for the name of this place to include Taekwondo in it as I was under the assumption that this place offered a variety of martial arts.
Tania Perzoff: My son enjoys his classes with Master Alan and the environment is supportive and inclusive. The bonus is the leadership training students receive in addition to physical fitness. Great, well-rounded approach to teaching Taekwondo.
ada: Eh, not that good tbh. It's worse quality than tkd u could at a community centre.EDIT:If I was able, I would give this dojo 0 stars!Alan is unprofessional - he gives attitude (sighing after helping students that he dislikes) and uses the lower belts as instructors. What I mean by LOWER BELTS, he uses the second to third (so yellow belts to orange belts) least experienced belts. Also, he does not pay the instructors, which is completely unethical! In addition to what was mentioned above, he expects you to learn poomsaes/patterns, kicks, and weapons without teaching you. He gives off an "If you don't learn this, it's not my fault but yours" attitude. Like how dare that I don't know it!He gets mad at you for not coming to ONE teaching day and being late. He expects you to explain why you didn't come. He says he 'understands', but he doesn't.He is the worst instructor in the place. The higher belts (red-black to any of the black belts) are amazing as they can actually teach and their enthusiasm is evident. It completely frustrates me how I can't give 0/5 stars. Please, go to a different dojo.
Lynn Wee: The moment our daughter showed interest in Taekwondo, we looked online and found this place. We had an introduction meeting with Master Alan and he was detailed and experienced based on the number of awards he has received. It has been almost 3 months and my daughter has received her yellow belt and leadership badge. She has also become more focused and listens better. It has also built confidence in her.Master Alan takes note of his students improvements and where needs improving. He treats them as students, our future and not just clients. We as parents love everything about it and definitely would recommend Vancouver Martial Arts to anyone and everyone.
Rylie Chew: I have been going to Vancouver Martial Arts for about 9 years now. I can say that Vancouver Martial Arts teaches more than just punching and kicking. It teaches you leadership, respect, and gives you self confidence. Master Alan has a lot patience, especially when it comes to the younger students. I don’t think my life would be the same without Vancouver Martial Arts!
The a & b Sandhu: Both of my young sons (6 & 4) attend the youth classes here and I feel fortunate to have discovered such an incredible school close to home. Master Azizi is a remarkable teacher of Martial Arts, instilling life lessons of respect, dignity, discipline & perseverance through pearls of wisdom. His classes are highly organized and his level of firm patience with children offers a level of structure all youth require in order to prosper on their journey through life. It’s wonderful to witness my boys experiencing something transformational that I wish I had when I was their age. I highly recommend to all!
Rick Dhanda: I have been attending VMA for the majority of my life now, since the day my mother drove me to the school and signed me up. Since then, I've grown a tremendous appreciation for the martial arts and the way VMA teaches and inspires students. I received my black belt 13 years ago and haven't even considered stopping since. Martial arts is a lifestyle as much as a sport and Dragon Temple is a 5 star school to empower students. VMA is one of the fixtures of my life and I can actually feel the difference from taking even a week's break. In my over 20 years of being a student, I have seen my fellow attendees get healthier, happier, and more equipped to deal with the rigours of adult life. I cannot recommend this school and practice enough.
Dominic Chiu: Master Azizi has a tremendous talent for teaching and bringing out the best in his students. His professionalism and passion for martial arts is what inspires others. From him I have learned martial arts not only as a sport but also as a way of life. The potential he sees in his students is clear and he uses that vision to help them become leaders. He easily and accurately identifies what his students need to improve on and effectively communicates this to them to become better. His discipline and dedication to martial arts is what students can learn from him. Thank you for all that you do and for all that you have taught me.
Princes May Bartido: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueBest place to bring your kids! Master Alan is very welcoming and so professional. My daughter is having so much fun on her class and is always excited. She just started on March 2021 and I can already see some positive impact on her like always being positive in everything she does. 100% recommended!
Essentially Motivated: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy son has attended VMA for the past 3 years. His personal growth in terms of leadership and focus has been exponential. He enjoys learning as well as helping to teach Taekwondo. This has been such a positive experience for us I would recommend VMA to anyone!
Yellow Wonder: My son is 5 years old, he goes to Vancouver Martial Art for over 3 months. He is very happy and grateful in learning Martial Art with Alan.Alan give great guidance and patient toward his students. My son respect his master a lot, he doesn’t want to miss any lesson. I am very proud to see him practicing at home. I can see it in my son’s eyes that he is very proud to be learning Taekwondo.Special thanks to Master Alan 🙏🏻
Semiha Bahar: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityVMA is a great place to discover the capability of your body.Master Alan provides a welcoming environment for everyone who is interested in martial arts. First time in my life, I am exercising regularly. Contrary to every other attempts to include physical activity, this time, it is not boring.
Shreya K: Vancouver Martial Arts is a place where leaders are born and it is exemplified in both words and action. Taekwondo is world consisting of so much more than just kicking and punching, and I was able to realize that at VMA. Some aspects such as self-respect, perseverance, and leadership qualities are equally valuable as the physical techniques you get to develop here. I would definitely recommend VMA to anyone looking to send their kids or learn taekwondo for themselves, as there is no age limit for partaking in this magnificent art of life.
CDN Mountain Rider: Vancouver Martial Arts is a school that inspires you to become a master of you own body’s capability. Master Alan's teaching extends beyond just the class itself. His school and his focus on developing one’s self to the maximum of their potential quickly translates to all aspects of your life. I 100% recommend VMA to all who want to challenge their body’s ability, and personal capacity to grow into more than you are today. The Cook Family
Ahmad Rasouli: My son is an old student in Dragon Temple Martial Arts. Master Alan teach my son self-confidence and Self-discipline .I appreciate him to help my son to know himself well.My son is always excited for going to class.
Niayesh Rasoli: Mr Alan is amazing . At the beginning I thought that I can just learn kicking and punching. But now I learned self discipline too and I appreciate him . Thank you for all those amazing words and thoughts . You changed my life Mr Alan .
Nima rasouli: Great atmosphere and a great teacherMaster Alan taught me how can I be confident and become a good leader
D0D0BIRDIE XD: I attended Vancouver Martial Arts from 2012 to late 2019, and after around seven years of consistent training and practice, I can say that my overall experience was an overwhelming positive one. The instructors are all very kind and cared deeply about my success the and advancement of my martial art abilities, whilst my fellow students became some of my closest friends. Vancouver Martial Arts not only kept me fit, but in the process, I also learned valuable life lessons and the importance of self discipline. Greatest Martial Arts studio ever!
Ritchie Le: 2 words to describe it? Second home. a place where I was able to relax and just practice the art of martial arts. A very comfortable environment and a great community to be surrounded by. Even after absence, they still care about you and are always welcome back. Not only did I learn Martial arts, I learnt how to better myself in life and others around me.

BUDō Jiu-Jitsu Team: what do users think?
jak fil: After doing a fair amount of research and head-scratching, I chose Budo school as my introduction to jiu-jitsu and I definitely made the right choice. All of the instructors and members are top-notch and very personable guys and girls.I highly recommend Budo as a starting point for anyone considering embarking on the jiu-jitsu journey.Jake F
Wyatt Foster: Awesome environment to learn jiu jitsu. Very welcoming and great instructors!
Joel F.: Absolutely fantastic place. My son has been going there and it has transformed him. They are so supportive and helpful. Scott in particular. It is such an amazing place for someone to build confidence. I highly recommend it for everyone.
Tracy Spring: My son started here after a traumatic event and has gained confidence and skills in a short amount of time. Scott has been an amazing teacher and support and we are very grateful to him and the other staff.
Shion Gin: A gem of a gym - amazing gym culture that fosters a friendly, and welcoming environment along with a great team of people. Scott Boudreau is a top class instructor who also actively competes internationally and have multiple golds under his belt. I especially enjoy his open-minded, creative and practical approach to teaching, as I find that quite uncommon in most bjj gyms. This is a great place to start your bjj journey, pick up where you left of, or if you want to compete at a higher level. Budo is a rare find for sure. Highly recommend!
Boris Kolev: I've started my BJJ journey at Budo nearly 2.5 years ago. The environment is extremely friendly and open. It's a great place for beginners as well as high level competitors. The main coach Scott is a world class competitor himself and continues to crush it year after year 💪. Highly recommend this place! OSS
Kyrylo “Kayden” Ukr: Great mix of comradeship and sheer enthusiasm of people in this gym. The main coach is a welcoming brother figure type. Great pick for anybody.
JohnsonQuon522: This is where champions are made!
Daniel Clement: Amazing atmosphere and team.
Emily Kaing: This place is fantastic! Head coach Scott and the team of instructors move at a pace that makes anyone, beginner or advanced, feel like they are learning something new. Thanks Budo! I'll be back!
Aaron Peat: I've been training at Budo for a few months now. Budo has given me an opportunity to explore martial arts in a fun environment. It has improved my physical fitness, and increased my confidence when dealing with difficult people on the street. The students and instructors are friendly, and make you feel included during training. You will be exposed to live rolling here, where you test your skills against others, but the atmosphere at the school makes it safe for less fit hobbyists and challenging for serious competitors.
O Ruppel: After trying several other BJJ schools I am grateful to have found Budo. The instructors are excellent; they break complex moves down into manageable steps so us beginners can understand. They are also attentive, answering questions and watching us practice to ensure we are doing the techniques properly. On top of the excellent instructors, the whole Budo team is extremely welcoming. I feel lucky to have found a place where I am this excited to attend each class.
AJ B: Real amazing place to learn jiu Jitsu in a safe environment. Good instructor(s) that take a pragmatic and methodical approach. Training partners that are all trying to improve, and help each other improve in a safe and controlled way.
mind kontrol: Awesome team to train with here! Whether you're sharpening your skills or just beginning your journey into the gentle art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Budo offers a fun and competitive atmosphere to train in, and an individualized focus to help you find your game! The new location is great, if you haven't checked it out, you really should!
Sami Ghali: My 8 years old daughter has been training at Budo Jiu-Jitsu Team for over a year. Classes are given by the master itself Scott Boudreau and are very well thought and taught. L. is getting better, stronger, more technical every month. It is a great feeling to see these kids evolve together lead by such a great master.
Scott Donnelly: Budo Jiujitsu Team offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Not only do you get world class champion level training, Scott the head coach also understands everyone’s journey is different and respects the process individuals wish to choose. I will always choose Budo when in Vancouver.
Coby Derban: Great place, great coach, great vibe. Būdo is, somehow, easygoing enough to be enjoyable while intense enough to be meaningful. A solid gym and a stellar place to bring your BJJ questions. Highly recommended.
Manuela Vieira: BUDō is a fresh and well-maintained space with clean, simple aesthetics where you can focus on training on the mats without visual clutter. It is a beautiful gym, but more importantly, it is a welcoming environment with friendly and encouraging students. The instructors are professional, respectful and supportive of your lifelong learning in the art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. BUDō Jiu-Jitsu Team is definitely worth a visit! Once you try out a class, you will be hooked!
Sharen Leung: Epic first visit at Budo Vancouver! Awesome all-around! Very nice simple, zen-like decor, new mats, and best of all, nice, fun and welcoming juijitsu crew there. Thank you Budo Vancouver!!- Looking forward to coming back!!
SWOO 1987: This place is awesome! The instructors are very nice people too. This is the best place to learn martial arts and kungfu or karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jutsus.
Roger Aba: Before the Pandemic, both of my kids were training here.Great teacher and curriculum for them to learn from.Clean place and good communication.Good prices for classes.

Susan Kim: I have two kids at Third Eye Martial Arts and we absolutely love the environment, staff and teaching methods. cigar1965: Both my daughters Ashley and Jessica have trained with the Masters and instructors for over 12 and 16 years ,Throughout that time they have both earned there black belts ,while also instructing in 4 locations . I have seen how this has given them confidence to move fwd in life knowing that they have become strong independent women.
Karen Clinch: I have two kids (ages 5 and 8) enrolled at Third Eye Martial Arts and it has been a fantastic experience. My kids have opposite personalities to each other and the instructors know exactly how to engage each of them in a way that keeps them interested and excited to come back each time. I've noticed an improvement in my son's ability to remain focused and disciplined, and my daughter is gaining confidence and loves the physical challenge. My son's very first summer camp (ever) was last week with Third Eye and he was SO excited to return each day. Highly recommend!

Pacific Top Team Vancity: what do users think?
Laatya t: I trained here for 2 years when I first moved to Vancouver. They have excellent coaches from fundamental class to advance class in BJJ. Would definitely recommend this gym to a friend!
Michael H: Friendly service.
Alejandro Dumas: Great place. Highly recommend.
Rob Kowalczyk: Awesome training !!! I been training on and off for around 20 years now. As you can imagine during this time, I have been to many schools and academies. PTT Vancity is my favorite one, of them all. The facility is clean, and well located. Easily accessible by public transportation. The instructors are friendly, informative, and show enthusiasm to teach. The general atmosphere here is very relaxed and fun. The sizes of the classes in my personal opinion, are ideal. Enough people to have a variety of training partners, but not too big where the instructors do not check your technique into detail. Everyone here gets the same respect, and attention, professional, or beginner alike. I highly recommend.
Valerii Yakubovych: Very friendly people. Everybody works carefully. Very good place for safe and productive training.
Mikayla Wong: Had an amazing first BJJ class at PTT. As a total newbie to the sport, they made me feel very welcome. Gym is super clean and all the instructors and students were very kind in showing me the ropes. Gary even took extra time to show me more key fundamentals after class, which was unexpected and very much appreciated. Looking forward to coming here, and 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a chill, good vibes gym.
Tuyen Lieu: The Muay Thai classes are always great. Instructor is knowledgeable and cool. Friendly training partners and a good vibe to get some sweat. Recommended to anyone who is looking for a Muay Thai gym
Ali Hakam: Visited for an open mat. Very friendly community as well as awesome technical rolls!
Andrew Uyeno: A great and friendly place to train even for just a drop in session.
Hunter Dillon: Been to a few jiu jitsu gyms, PTT was by far the best. Good training partners, constructive instructors and a wide variety of classes to choose from.
Jack Chi: Dropped in here for open mat one day. Good vibes, good training partners that won’t beat up beginners for no reason.
Stefano Papa: I have trained at many of the local gyms in the North Burnaby area and PTT Vancity really stands out among them. The gym has a well equipped free weight area as well two private showers. It is very family oriented, with classes for children from ages 4 and up. There is a bleacher area for parents or spectators to observe classes and parents are welcome to use the weight area while their kid(s) train. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable in both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu; whether you are looking to compete, get fit, or casually learn self defense, this gym can deliver. Above all, the gym has a vibe that radiates positivity and provides a feeling of community for its patrons. There is also a massage area and an RMT on site. Not sure what more you are looking for in a gym, but I would highly recommend this one.
Ariel Greenblat: This is the best place ever!
S Duncan: Amazing coaches and training partners. Was there five years then I moved. If you’re looking for quality coaching hit em up!
sunny: so welcoming and motivational space. Coaches and people are kind and always willing to help you with skills and everything.
Fernando Torres: Very clean gym, great instructors and friendly training partners
Eric M: I've been training at this gym for about 5 years. The instructors are passionate and dedicated to the growth of their students. Whether it's learning a martial art or getting in shape, this is the place to go.
10ske: I was always looking for great place for my daughter to pick up where she left off from quitting Jiujitsu for Competitive Swimming. My friend told me about how great the PTT teachers/coaches are.. and I had her try out the free week. I was impressed by the facilities and my daughter learned a lot in just a few days. I signed her up and now she's learning Muay Thai and Jiujitsu.Best teacher/coaches/sensei's here, you can really see the amount of enthusiasm and skill they all have while teaching the kids and adults. No brainer go try it out!
Gerald S: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy kids attend the Muay Thai and JiuJitsu classes. The instructors are absolute professionals who care for the welfare and the development of the kids. Its been awesome watching my boys improve and gain confidence while having fun.
J V: Terrific group of people. There's no one else I would rather pay to beat me up every week.Coaches are all knowledgeable, have a great sense of humor, are welcoming, and break things down in easy-to-understand steps. Team and training partners are friendly and always willing to help out. Also has a weights area so you can get jacked.
Miles Maclean: I've been very happy in my time at PTT VanCity. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience on the mats that can rival any school. The atmosphere that has been created is welcoming, fun and focused on helping everyone from beginner to advanced learn. There are a variety of class types and times as well as a workout area. If you're looking for a place to learn BJJ and/or Muay Thai you can't do much better that PTT VanCity.

Lions MMA: what do users think?
Johnny Tesoro: Best training, best classes, most classes, best instructors and best team in Vancouver. I've been a member for 17 years and will never go anywhere else. Lions MMA is my second family and home away from home. Great for beginners all the way to pro/am fighters. Big love to Coach Paulie!
Mr. Muscle: If you want to go pro in combat sports. This is the place. They have good fighters and good disciplined training.
Bryant Valverde: Amir and all the guys here are Amazing and very understanding. The energy is amazing.
Hui Jillain: Thanks to instructor Amir, I Had such a good workout while in Vancouver. When I Google searched, some other gyms only have evening classes, but Lions MMA not only offers day classes but also has so many classes during the day. I joined their 12-1pm class within 1 hour of my initial search. Technic was good, workout was hard :):). Staff is friendly. Strongly recommended! May God bless your business, staff and your students!
Thi Nguyen: This is a great establishment but the trainer, Jess, has a terrible attitude. She is arrogant and entitled. She was late for our session and did not apologize for it. It would not be wise for Lions to keep an instructor that has these inappropriate and unprofessional values. It’s a shame that her toxic energy is now in their space.
TIM C: Recently moved to Van from Calgary, have always had trouble finding a boxing place back home, came across Lion’s and saw they were offering 2 week trial, decided to take the leap and give it a try.My experience over the 2 weeks was nothing short of amazing, Adam (Muay Thai instructor) was by far the most attentive, Christian (Boxing instructor) made the classes fun and enjoyable, and Gui (No Gi instructor) customized his classes to fit all levels.Because of you guys, I am now able to confirm my passion for MMA, not only can it be super enjoyable, it can also be extremely beneficial in getting back in shape, thank you Lions MMA!!If/when I move back in the area, will definitely be signing up, hopefully you guys will have another promo then :D
Cristian Aldea: I had a great time at LionsMMA trying out their Muay Thai class. The staff was really friendly and welcoming and I had a great workout.
ROGUE 47: It's like you're a part of a family... For someone that's new to Vancouver, so far my favorite place to be. If you're looking for professional training, skill developing or simply want to try something you have never done before... than that's exactly where you should go!
Heteng Zhang: Michael is one of the best striking coach i’ve had. He’s friendly, skilled, and an absolute beast.
Mohsen H.: Great coaches, nice community and people. They were nice enough ti give me boxing gear for free after I signed up.I recommend this place for kickboxing and boxing 👍🏼👍🏼
Darryl Agawin: Lions MMA provides world class instruction in an incredibly supportive environment. Not only will you have an incredible workout, you'll be coached under skilled eyes to work through explosive combinations. Quite honestly, it's one of the best gyms in Canada. I highly recommend this gym for people of all skill levels, looking to challenge themselves and have a great time while doing so.
Andrew Sexton: Lions MMA is an incredible gym and an excellent place to go to for all levels. I joined just looking to do gi Jiu jitsu, but ended up doing Muay Thai, gi and no-gi Jiu jitsu. The instructors are friendly, enthusiastic and thorough for all the disciplines I did. I was anxious to join at the start, but within minutes they help make you feel at home and excellent teaching you everything from the moves, to your posture, and how you should breathe. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Raed Sabbah: We recently had the pleasure of attending classes at Lions MMA, which was an incredible experience. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about martial arts, and they took the time to explain techniques in great detail. Management is understanding and welcoming of all regardless of experience level. The facility is clean, spacious and well-equipped with all the necessary gear for a great workout.
Abhinav KC: One of the best places to train in the city of Vancouver. There are offers like get free fighting equipment and a free first month. The instructors are very friendly and helpful even in these tough times when the gyms cannot fully open. They follow proper rules and regulations, temperature checks, maintaining social-distancing, limited entry and sanitizing equipment.Overall, you will not regret joining this place.
Harry Toor: I've been going here for years. Highly skilled staff, good hearted people. They're supportive and attentive to the beginners and high level fighters alike. I'll be going here until my body tells me not to
Tolemak Man: The absolute best, hands down. Do yourself a favour and start training here :).
Navid Mirzaiy: Amazing coaches, good people, and a great environment to train and make new friends.
Han Nguyen: I'm from out of town and did a drop in class. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The instructor was knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks! 🤙
Huan Nguyen: I can not say enough good things about this place. I was visiting from out of town and came to do a drop in class. The vibe was really friendly. The instructor (Neto) was amazing. He came around often to ensure we did the techniques properly. I got better today from his instructions. Big thank you to him.
David Foley: Brilliant place to learn, has a great atmosphere and culture. Everyone is very friendly with both instructors and students willing to take time to explain different techniques and give useful tips to what I’m doing wrong and could do better. Settling in quite quickly, would recommend.
Brandon Green: I just wanted to thank you guys for everything, I learned a lot. Being American new here in another Country without any friends or family here coming to lions was the only place to socialize and interact with people consistently. I've been training for almost 8yrs in multiple disciplines and trained at multiple gyms and your staff and gym is #1. It's a great gym for all ages, levels, genders and races. I got offered an instructor position in Texas and will take every thing I learned and apply it to my classes. So thank you guys, you will be missed.

FKP MMA: what do users think?
Lamonte Cantwell: If you're looking to learn self defense, improve confidence, or get in shape, Franco's offers excellent instruction, and a supportive and inclusive environment to help you achieve your goals. Few other gyms offer the level of discipline with a healthy dose of humor that sets Franco's fkp mma apart. If you are curious about mixed martial arts do not hesitate to try their free introductory class.
John I: The training and philosophy at FKP MMA is world-class. From the moment you step through the doors, bow in and mentally prepare for the lessons. The coaches are deeply passionate and their energy enthusiasm is invigorating. They bring the best out of everyone, from beginners to professionals. You definitely leave the facility better than you arrived.
Abdullah Saad: I have been a student at FKP for a few months now and find them the most professional outfit that I have come across. They don’t mollycoddle their students, which just means that you get the best bang for your buck. Yes, it may take a few classes before you get used to their style but once you do, their workouts are the best! And Mr. Franco is an excellent teacher, considering how seriously he takes his job.
Kalatheepan Kanagarajah: Highly recommend this place for cardio kickboxing. Skilled trainers reasonable price.
So Carmen: I first met Mr. Franco and Mr. Martin at FKP MMA in January 2023. Both of them are nice and decent people. They patiently explained to me the courses offered by the school. Since I knew what I wanted, I signed up right away. So far, I have already attended almost three weeks of group classes, and I believe this school is the best place to exercise one’s body and mind. No matter you are a beginner or a veteran, all students here are being treated equally. The instructors are always willing to help those who are serious on training. It didn't take me long to get used to their training system. Skills take time to hone. If you consistently train hard with a humble learning attitude, you will definitely gain a lot from FKP MMA over time.
Annette: Such a great place. I love it there, highly recommend
Joerosh Castillo: Though I've only been training here for three months, FKP is a fantastic gym. Since day one, I've felt like I've made significant progress, and Mr. Franco and Mr. Martin truly help you through your training. When you are new, they help you and advise you on what to do, and they get you going right away. I believe that with the wonderful community and team at FKP, I will grow so much more in the future.
Logan Wang: I have been here over 5 years. Great coaches and students made me feel like a family here.
Elaine Ma: I've wanted to put my daughter into FKP's program since she was 3, but she wasn't old enough so we tried other martial art programs and she hated it. When my daughter was old enough we put her on a waitlist and finally got a spot. Again, my daughter was super hesitant because she thought it was like that other program we tried. The first person we encountered was Coach Maria and she was so good with making my daughter feel comfortable. After a few classes my daughter loved going to class. My daughter especially loves that there are more female coaches than most other programs. The classes have made her stronger and more confident. Once my son was old enough we signed him up right away and I'm so glad we did because he now loves it as well. I highly recommend FKP to all my friends. The first time I got to sit in and watch the class I was very impressed. I even told my husband how calm and direct Coach Franco was with the kids. He truly is like a giant teddy bear. Some people may think he looks intimidating, but I've only seen him speak kindly and behave professionally towards the children and parents. All the coaches have been great with the kids. It really does feel like a family.Shortly after my daughter joined, I joined their conditioning class so I could set an example for my daughter and also learn first hand what she's learning so I could do it with her at home. Coach Maria was very patient even though I had no clue what I was doing. It was an amazing workout and wish I could have continued (currently pregnant). My experience with Coach Maria gave me the confidence that my kids are getting the same respect and patience in their classes
Kento Y: I recently joined the MMA classes at this dojo and am very pleased with the quality of the lessons. I am able to practice under very kind and caring coaches, which helps me to acquire a high level of perfection and confidence in myself. Also, many other trainees are enthusiastic and skilled, so we can train mentally and physically while improving each other. This dojo is the best place to start martial arts in Vancouver.
M H: NOT a review of the classes themselves. I paid for one month back in february, took a few classes, and decided not to keep going, and they said I could ask for a refund. i called them multiple, multiple times asking for a refund and they never called back and i never got my money back.
Sanjay Kajal: Chris “MJOLNIR” Franco FKP MMA FRANCO KICKBOXING PANKRATION MIXED MARTIAL ARTS is the best marital artist and best school in the all of 9 realms. I heard of Mr. Chris Franco and his school in 2004, meet him in 2005 when my sister joined him and his school and my brother joined in 2006. Mr. Chris Franco is the greatest hero of all. I will never ever train anywhere else.
Arvin Parmar: I have been training at FKP for 4 years now and the experience has been nothing less than fantastic. The entire coaching staff are really caring and truly want nothing but the best for every student. These past 4 years of training at FKP have truly been amazing not only helping myself with my martial arts skills but also my confidence and self-esteem. I am extremely looking forward to continue training at this dojo, and recommend it to anyone who's interested.
Kristy Scarcelli: We are so happy to have two of our kids at FKP. The coaches opened their hearts and their doors to my teenagers. My son, who has autism, is proud and confident for the first time ever after training with Mr. Franco. My 16 year old daughter feels strong and powerful after training with Mr. Martin, Miss. Demers, Mr. Machado and Mr. Franco. My kids are getting great exercise and gaining muscle strength. But what’s even more, they are learning respect for themselves and others. I recommend FKP to anyone and everyone. FKP helps with body, mind and soul. You don’t need any experience. They will train you every step of the way. Thank you so much to you all.
Arjun Jaswal: I have been at this dojo since 2015 and it has been an awesome experience. I started when I was 12 years old and the coaching staff has always provided a welcoming atmosphere with some of the most skilled and friendly people I have ever met. Coming from a background in the Cadets, I love the structure and teaching style that Mr. Franco provides. FKP MMA is an amazing place to get the best quality training you will ever receive.
Manpreet Bajwa: FKP MMA is like a second home to me. I have been training for about 7 years now and having initially start in the junior program, I have progressed to the adult program and am looking to compete in my first tournament. Starting a program in a new environment can be intimidating , but trust me Mr. Franco and the coaches are very nice and welcoming. Mr. Franco is kind of like a teddy bear on the inside. I would highly recommend training here, whether you are new to martial arts or have previous experience.
Camryn Harlock: I've been trainning at FKP for 5 years and joined at the age of 14. Trainning at such an impressionable age helped me a lot with my self confidence and diligence, which also tied into how I was outside of the dojo as well within school and my friend groups. Mr. Franco and the coaching staff are amazing people who really do care about the progress you make in martial arts and the people you train with are just as great. Overall I would recommend FKP to anyone wanting to learn martial arts or even just how to defend themselves in a worst case scenario.
Caio Machado: I started training 6 years ago at FKP MMA being relatively new to MMA and now I don't have other way to call this people but FAMILY.Within those four walls I've been working on my craft all the way to became the 4x BFL Heavyweight Champion with a professional record of 6-1-1 and the #1 HW in Canada. This is definitely the best place to learn MMA in Canada regardless of experience level.
Jamie Coade: If you are a beginner adult, it’s not the gym for you
Tony Lee: We've been sending our daughter here for roughly 2 years now. She is now 7 and we completely trust her with the Mr. Franco, Mr. Martin and the team of coaches and mentors they've assembled. So yes - if you're sitting there reading this review and especially if you're a girl dad/mom, no hesitations. All the coaches really are like a live group of Marvel characters - each with their own strengths and abilities that they bring to the collective table that these kids just love and look up to. Confidence, discipline, respect, fun and fitness - that's just the tip of the iceberg of what is being taught here.
Link D: I called FKP MMA, asked for their pricing, and I tried to ask if they had pay-by-times packages instead of monthly. The gentlemen did not answer me directly, so I asked again. I had no idea why the conversation escalated so fast, the gentlemen started barraging me saying "I have been doing this for 30 year, won many gold medals, etc." and I replied "I did not question your credential, sir." He was so furious, so defensive, and I just wanted to ask pricing. This experience was so surreal. I do not think he showed basic patience and respect towards others.
