Windsure Adventure Watersports: what do users think?
Jusleen Sahota: Thomas was an excellent host!
Sandra Petkute: We had a great session with our instructor Thomas, highly recommend booking a private session to those who are new to paddle boarding.
Steph: Great experience with the entire Windsure team, from an advance call from Matt inquiring into my learning priorities, to a fabulous and highly customized private lesson with Jonathan, who went above and beyond in teaching me all the essentials! Highly recommended! Great value with all the equipment included.
Adam Suban-Loewen: Top notch windsurfing instructors and clinics
Dalimil Hajek: It's so easy to show up and find a new hobby here. I always enjoy the vibe of this place and how helpful everyone is.Matt, Slava, Jonathan and the rest of the staff are all absolutely amazing and give you tips from beginner level all the way to pro.I tried windsurfing for the first time here (discovery lessons) and it ended up being my new favorite hobby. Also enjoyed my Skimboarding lesson. Great fun!
Graeme Gilchrist: I loved this place. Great bunch of friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable people working there. Amazing location and great value. I can't think of anywhere else I have been that had such a great combination of natural beauty, great vibes, and opportunity to learn or just have fun that still feels very much open to all!
Jay M: Top notch place to get on the water windsurfing or paddleboarding. And as a customer and former staff, there are multiple layers of safety in place to help guests minimize risk. Some proactive, some reactive. Visit with confidence!
Akanksha: They refused to rent paddleboards at 5pm, their closing time is 6:30pm
Jonathan Durrant: Attended the windsurfing lesson #1 and thought the instructor and experience was excellent.
Diane Stickney: Excellent experience! Jonathan was an amazing coach and teacher. A great ambassador for the sport! We will be back!
Ruth Gavin: A group of us rented stand up paddle boards on a Wednesday and were delighted to get a second hour free. All the staff we encountered were lovely and the equipment was in great shape. Look forward to renting equipment from windsure again in the future.
Vincent Hughes: Great experience learning the basics of Windsurfing. My girlfriend and I did the introduction course (Discover 1). We got plenty of on land training where we learned the concepts, as well as some simulated technical skills. We moved to the water, where we were able to put our skills to the test. While it's certainly more difficult the smaller/less powerful you are, it's rewarding enough that the ~3 hours we had flew by. Our guide Jonathan was absolutely fantastic, with a deep knowledge of the sport delivered in a laid back and approachable way.I'd recommend it to anyone in the area, or visiting, looking for something fun a different to do.
Eric Soo: Amazing! After 2 hours I could windsurf. Slav did a great job teaching us newbies to windsurf.
Dana Johnson: Easy to reserve, good selection of services, great service when we arrived.
Eileen Chen: we come in a group of 6. It was quite windy that day but the guide manage to show us around. Thanks a lot
Ian Shepherd: We had a great SUP lesson with Jonathan. He was very patient and helpful and emphasized on the water safety. Once launched he took the time to answer questions and help each person individually. The age of the 7 students ranged from 11yr to 75yr and was good with all of us. It was a fun experience and we learned a lot of skills.
Sina Ghoddous: Did paddle board for the first timeLucas was super friendly, got greeted with a big smile, clear and detailed instructions and crazy positive experience thereThey give free cliff bars too 😋
Hyun A Hong: I am not very active so I was a little hesitant to try SUP. I am so glad that I went because it was so fun!Firstly, the staff are nice and helpful. They will help you with finding the right size life jacket and paddle. Also, the staff gave us a tutorial before going out. I didn't feel unsafe and felt like I could ask additional questions.Second, it's bang for the buck!! There are certain days of the week where if you rent one hour, the second hour is free!Third, I SAW A SEAL and it was super relaxing. If you are looking to be active, this is a great business to go support! If you're new like me to SUP, stay close to the shore so the water is less choppy!! I've now gone SUP 3 times in the last three weeks and will be visiting again soon!
Shaiful Azrin Zakaria: ONE OF THE BEST OUT THERE!We love it every time we hit the water with Windsure SUP rental. Super friendly staffs, well maintained boards and most importantly super easy to book with their online system. Already planning our next session in a couple of weeks.
J Jia: very patient instructor, corrected my paddle strokes and showed me more tricks on the water. Beginners should definitely consider taking a class with them to learn the basics. Overall great experience with this company, money well spent!
Kerensa Wotton: staff very kind and patient

North Shore Ski & Board: what do users think?
Catrin Butler: Great service 👍
Gerry Duke: I went there looking for help to repair my telemark skis which is not easy to find today. But they ditected me to someone that could and I really appreciate that they were very nice they saved me a ton of money as I would have had to buy a hole new set of equipment that would have cost me 1500 to 2,000 dollars. I did not go in their store before this, looks like a good place to shop for outdoor equipment, I will be back for sure
shawn shergill: I have been there few times now they are very consistent with excellent service and knowledge of their product.
Paul Doig: Amazing service at North Shore Ski and Board. Possibly the best ski store around (worldwide - big claim but true). I have travelled far and wide and always come back to NSSB.Bought an amazing setup of Elan 106 Ripstick Black Edition 180cm with Aramada Strive 14 binding (in sand colour). Bought online and was in Vancouver from the Island. Brett and the team turned around the install of the bindings in 25min to accommodate my travel back to the Island. Amazing.Thx for having the best ski shop and best service anywhere.
Natalia Tape: I couldn't recommend North Shore Ski & Board more for all your mountain needs! I was thoroughly impressed with the service Jordan, Heather & Kayla provided to me while purchasing my new snowboard. They offered individualized, friendly service, anticipating my needs and going out of their way to find me a suitable board, both in style and price. I live far away from the store, and each of these associates took the time to remember me & my requests, call me on the phone to check in, and create a smooth/seamless experience. I felt like everyone was working hard to please me as the customer, and their knowledge base on mountain equipment is second to none. I will be going back for any further supplies without hesitation! Kudos to the NSKB team. 10/10 recommend.
Yusuke Kowalewski: Staff were kind, and the snowboard waxing service is quick
albert: Employees were absolutely wonderful, 10/10 would recommend!
Enno S: Cheaper and better than up on Grouse Mountain. Forgot I brought my board there for 2,5 weeks, picked it up with no additional charge. 44 CAD for waxing and sharpening.
Kyle Gill: Great service. Brett help fix my splitboard binding.
Krista Greig: Only good things to say about North Shore Ski and Board! I've been helped by several staff members with buying boots, getting custom footbeds made, and having bindings mounted - all the staff have been super helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. NSSB is my go-to for all things skiing-related and it's where I send my friends when they're looking for gear.
Samantha Smith: I bought new touring boots here, and worked with Simon. He was so great! Took a ton of time with me. Really listened to what I needed and went above and beyond! Highly recommend
Walker: They are wicked friendly and wicked helpful. Big shout out to Arsenio, Brett, James, and Adam.So I need to double down on the recommendation for this place. I've been back three times to have my touring boots adjusted. It's been inexpensive and the service has been very insightful each time. I didn't buy my boots from them but you can sure as hell bet that I'll buy the next pair from them.Bought a pair of downhill boots from these folks this season. The service and advice was absolutely outstanding. I'd be tempted to pick up a pair of skis next year if I don't find any amazing deals at the SAR sale.
Elly Akhoundi: I recently visited North Shore Ski & Board to purchase new ski gear and I had an exceptional experience! I was lucky enough to have Simon help me with my fitting and he was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of the products and attention to detail was impressive and he worked tirelessly to ensure that I found the perfect fit. Believe me, just trust him although you may think there is absolutely no way the size he is offering the right one for you!The entire team at North Shore Ski & Board was welcoming and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. They are experts at finding the right gear for each individual and I was impressed by their level of professionalism and expertise.I can confidently say that my skiing experience has been taken to a whole new level thanks to Simon!I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a quality product and exceptional customer service. Thank you, Simon, and the entire team at North Shore Ski & Board!
Marta C: 100% the best shop to get your ski gear. Max is the best sales person! He is a pro and he helped me find the most comfortable boots!!!! Thanks guys :)
golsa mozoun: I went into the store and the staff were so meanI tried some clothes on and then put them on the hanger right in front of the fitting roomsThen this blonde girl asked me in a very bad manner like I wanted to rob them “where did you put the stuff”She then asked me several times to leave and asked me are you waiting for somethingI have never been treated like this in any other stores
Harper Klusman: Best customer service ever! I’ve got weird legs which makes finding good ski boots impossible; I wasn’t sure I was ever going to be able to go skiing again. Simon and the North Shore Ski and Board team went above and beyond to craft an extremely unique pair of custom ski boots. Would highly recommend this place. Just finished my first day back skiing with my new boots and it was AMAZING. Thanks Simon!
Allan Furlong: An amazing experience! Late season, we hoped to get used kids ski boots. The service and knowledge of equipment was beyond what I've ever seen. We got what we needed, with adjustments an no extra cost, advice on future equipment etc. We left with smiles at the friendliness of the staff and the ease of the purchase. Thanks!
Mackenzie Cromie: Max was fantastic at putting in all the effort during my partners fitting, shared so many interesting facts. Went above an beyond to make sure we were happy with the investment. Will definitely be returning!
Patsy Hallimond: Great friendly staff, clean and great consultation from arsenio on boots!
Paul Boenisch: The very best place in the lower mainland to outfit the whole family for skiing, boarding and even summer sports like kite boarding. Huge store, great clothing, accessories and knowledgeable friendly staff. Great kids program too for kids that grow out of ski gear every year, used gear and you get credit back for returning your used boots and skis etc. Check it out.
Paul C: Brilliant service. I came in for an adjustment on boots NOT bought from them. Dillon was first class - quick, knowledgeable, precise and easy to deal with. He tweaked a pinch point on the top of my foot. Very little wait time and price was well below what I expected to pay. Any issues I'm told to swing back in, no charge & they'll get it right for me. Very impressed. Thanks guys.

MEC Vancouver: what do users think?
Prima Primavera: Came on weekday ( weekends are crazy busy there, come on weekday if you can) and felt like I am in a forest hiking and no one around me, not even sales person Lol. If you have any questions You would need to get compass and find them in the store, to catch them to ask ))Same situation in Langley, by the way. Will be continue shopping in both locations anyway cause they have unique products, good assortment.
Thomas Robson: I joined Mountain Equipment CO-OP in the late '70's.This new corporate version is disappointing on so many levels.I'm surprised there wasn't more protest from the co-op sector.
Florian Rossmann: We are big fans of MEC and we were very excited about our first visit at the new location. But it is nowhere nearly as good as the old store. Parking is expensive, EV charging stations are not working, staff was not very helpful, many of the shelves (especially on the ground level) were empty and everything was very disorganized. We wanted to buy camping chairs but only found some loose covers without metal feet piled in the corner. Overall an disappointing experience.Update:The store is much better now. The shelves are well stocked and the climbing area is so much fun for the kids. The overall shopping experience is great.
Brooke Amélie: Quality and customer service was so much better when they were still a coop. Ever since they were bought out it’s gone downhill. It’s really unfortunate.
R & R: When it was a Co-op it was something special from the customer service to the perfect quality products. Now it is just another corporate store. Look for a family owned store or franchise and give back to the community!
Lutz Hellmund: Riesenangebot. Kompetente Beratung. Super freundlich. Leider nicht ganz Preiswert.
A.M. Wolf: This place is the best! MEC staff are awesome, just like the products.
Aayush Sahai: Great customer service and selection of products! Samuel was incredibly helpful, he was patient, answered all my questions to help me pick out the the right equipment for me
Paul Ng: Newer and bigger store with more selections than used to, price is a little higher than other competitors
YC Kim: After the horrendous experience I had at the Vancouver location, I won’t be back. The MEC website showed some items I wanted were in stock at the Vancouver store. I was unable to find the items myself, so after much difficulty in locating someone to help, I finally found someone. Adam assured me the website was accurate and started looking for the items. While he was looking, another customer approached him, and he left without a word. I was left standing alone and bewildered that the employee that was helping me abandoned me. After waiting around there for awhile, I was able to locate the employee and asked to speak to the manager regarding the lack of professionalism and customer service. He scoffed and said quite arrogantly, “I’m the manager. You want to speak to me?” I had to leave the store without my items due to the manager’s rude behaviour and total lack of consideration. This is not what I expect from MEC.If this is the manager’s attitude, then it’s easy to see why customer service has fallen at this location.
Ruben Gregg: Simarjit and Felix did me a solid and helped me out with a return! Nice guys.
Sami Kruse: I needed some help choosing a bike rack and basket for the summer. Sam was a super friendly and helpful sales associate. He went above and beyond to help me find what I needed. Would definitely recommend Sam at MEC on 2nd ave in Vancouver for this type of support.
Regis Denefle: Nice store, with a great array of sports equipment, supplies and clothes. Still the big game in town for all outdoors activities.
Ben Nelms: Not the greatest experience dealing with their ‘rock solid’ guarantee. Brought my 2016 MEC synergy GoreTex jacket in to either be repaired or exchanged as it has completely lost it waterproofing, is falling apart at the seams and has ‘bubbling’ under the Gore-Tex fabric. Was told they don’t do any repairs anymore and can’t even offer me a discounted new jacket as ‘I failed to properly wash my jacket enough times’.I did wash this jacket using a product I purchased at MEC a few times a year.Considering most other outdoor brands will offer a discount or exchange your faulty product is unfortunately a reason I may spend hundreds of dollars on a high end jacket elsewhere.
Yousef Ahmad: Great place. Love the exterior aesthetic
Vaughn Halen: They go out of their way to get what you need. It's great to see that still exists!
GINA L: Low on staff but they tried to be helpful and were all very friendly
Dave White: Mark in the Bike shop is a gem! Happy disposition, willingness to help and very knowledgeable. I came in with my bike not knowing what was wrong with it, Mark was able to assess the issue and saved me a ton of time trying to figure it out myself. It is always nice to find exceptional customer service like that! Keep up the awesome work Mark! MEC, don't let Mark go, he's one in a million!
Kalene: Horrible experience online. My order of over $200 did not show up. Apparently clicking on the check mark when ordering that says shipping address same as billing address actually does nothing! I went back to make another order just to check and yup clicking that actually doesn't change your order to your billing address. One service rep online just left the convo after saying she would check on it and never got back to me. Other guy said it defaulted to an old address I haven't lived at for 4 years and they couldn't do anything about it. I've bought stuff for years in store no problems but their online store has a few bugs and I've wasted a bunch of money for nothing. I'll just order on Amazon next time.
Richard Phan: Saw a sale on Cannondale bikes on MEC website. Decided to visit this location to take a look at a bike for my partner and I am glad we did. The people working in the bike department were very helpful and friendly, especially, Samarjit aka “Sam”. He was very helpful finding and explaining info for the bikes we were interested in. The ordering and purchasing process was a great experience as this was our first time buying at mec. If you ever visit this location, look for Sam if you want friendly service and someone who goes above and beyond their duties.
Artur G: Ian was extremely helpful in the shoe department. Provided lots of knowledge and recommendations to get the perfect fit.

MEC North Vancouver: what do users think?
Brody Isaak: saw this cool ice axe here, kinda want one now
emily: Bad customer service.
Ed Powell: Very helpful staff
ChopinLiszt Ridge: My membership money got stolen by these crooks!!! Never buy from you
Kristen sciberras: You would think the staff are helpful here but a lot of them are clueless. Do your research before buying that's all
Joe Palooka: If you are going to shop for shoes at MEC North Vancouver, be prepared for extreme tension and nasty looks from other customers. I went this morning when the store opened, was first in line at the shoe department, and was served by a very pleasant young woman. But shortly afterwards, a man and a woman arrived and were standing impatiently behind me as the staff person was helping me with shoes. The look of extreme annoyance, rage and hatred on the woman's face was amazing! Wow, who has to live with that? The man was no less surly and very unhappy that he had to wait. I felt so pressured to hurry up that it made me very angry. Rather than risking a serious confrontation with these two losers who were impeding my time and space, I decided to leave. I was unable to try on another pair as a result of this extreme pressure and tension and will have to go back at a better time. So the lesson is --- when shopping for shoes at MEC North Vancouver, be prepared in case the same happens to you.
Jonathan Lloyd: Unfortunate experience at this store many, many times, customer service is very disappointing. I just finished waiting for a staff member for 20+ min for help on getting a rope (off the wall) and checking inventory for a size medium harness. I asked two different staff members who said they didn't work in the climb department and said they would find someone who could help (nobody came). After waiting for sometime I just decided to leave without any gear. This scenario has played out several times, no staff and no attention or help when needed. I always feel invisible and ignored while shopping here. The selection is adequate at this store and the staff I do interact with are nice but sometimes cannot address my question.Valhalla and climb on in Squamish has provided in depth, fast service and goes beyond my expectations in customer service, product knowledge, and selection- I wish MEC could do the same. I will be using these competitors going forward for my outdoor needs.
Paul: Great selection, lots of parking, friendly staff, were very accommodating with making a return on a pair of hiking shoes that were very uncomfortable on a trail, which I appreciated. I've visited first thing in the morning and appreciate that they open right at the listed time for a last minute tent I needed to buy for a trip.
Trevor Linden: The staff is the best at this location ! Thanks guys
King Ma: It's a great store as selling outdoor gears, camping/bike stuffs, clothing, etc, which you can find what you need the most for adventure.
Gerrit van Rensburg: Solid experience
Nuri OHN (KR_Rainmaker): Great store for outdoor gears except wrong labeled products. You will know at the till you saw wrong price at the time of picking up. Please make it right.
jurgen Spang: EV charging station!!👍👍
Aazora: Helpful staff, pretty good sale prices and they gave me a sale when it was marked incorrectly in store but it was on sale on the site5/5
Ryan Jack: Staff are always helpful and I have found the quality of their house brand has really improved over the past 2 years.
Pinpoint Listings Marketing Group: Wow. What a great place to shop at today. Picked up an online purchase (flippers), and got a pair of shoes I wasn’t even thinking of buying today but had a great experience at the shoe section w the guys there. The shoe I liked was actually on sale too! Also, picked up a dry bag for my trip based on the young guy’s suggestion, when I asked him about these. Reminded me of the MEC I bought my aqua shoes & backpacking bags from years ago. Keep up the great work. Nice store. They have everything here.
Jaspreet Singh: Rude management, overly priced and limited variety.
JingXiang Mo: I was trying to buy a pair of climbing shoes and Catherine was extremely helpful and professional
Salina Williams: Katie is the best! Helped me find the perfect product! this girl has the customer experience skills! she deserves a raise! Will be back just to see her again!
D: 5 stars for Hayden. Had a terrible experience with another staff member (bearded/glasses/pride flag pin)Hayden is a great manager, told the other fellow to step aside, listened to my issue, and took the time to offer me something that was more than I had initially requested.
