Banyen Books & Sound: what do users think?
Vivienne: whimsical
N D: Staff is always pleasant, polite, and eager to assist as well as knowledgable. The only drawback is they tend not to have new releases for about six months to a year. However, if you’re looking for a book that was published in the last five years, they have excellent bargains. The environment is warm and welcoming and comfortable. Definitely a local treasure.
Andie: Very cool place with so many book options!
BBisson: I love the atmosphere. They have every kind of book you could imagine. I like that they have a wall of tarot cards, wind chimes, candles and jewelry as well.
Jahanbanoo keshari: Go there for nourishing your mind and soul....
Toby Lermer: Great alternative local book store. Very helpful staff.
Fathom Gathergood: I love coming here, we stopped in for nearly 3 hours
Amber Roth Mauk: Beautiful book store with lots of spiritual tools.
Lozen Osecap: Very informative, deliciously spiritual refreshing energy. Lovely staff and good overall atmosphere ❤❤❤
Gandhinath Swaminathan: Great energy. Cannot find such a unique spiritual collection in US.I could find books on Hinduism to reiki to alchemy and all Carl Jung collection. A day is not enough.
Candice Neveu: I've been wanting to go here for awhile so on my solo trip to Vancouver, I made the stop. Took transit from downtown, super easy. The bookstore is amazing. Great depth so plan to take your time an savour. I just browsed but coming with a list would be good too. Left with 4 books, a Hafiz oracle deck and a few bits for my sacred space at home. Pleasant staff, lots of little reading nooks.
J M: I've lived in the neighbourhood for over a decade and would probably visit once or twice a year. Lately though, the last few times I went into the store I was followed and watched by an employee, a brown woman in her late 30s or early 40s. I don't know if she thinks she has some sort of "intuition" or can read "aura" of people because she works in a store with spiritual trinkets and books, but if she does think so, it's way, way off (sorry but you're not a psychic just a profiling bigot). I have never shoplifted in my life, and judging by the other 1 star reviews here I appear to not be alone in my experience. The complete irony of people believing they are "spiritual", "empathic" or "good" yet appropriate so much from other cultures, and are really just a bunch racist spiritual narcissists.
Julie Bond: Fabulous selection. The hippy in me loved the selection and ambience!
Kent B: If there is an adventure worth finding. It's here
OB3 ALVA: Love Banyen, it just has almost everything you would need and if not they're willing to look it up for you. All ecletics and traditionalist of all varieties should give it a shot.
Carmen: Love this store ❤️🙏 always has what I need when I feel called to visit.
Josh Heatherington: Always a great vibe
Gregory Kehm: A rare gem. A classic bookstore with a peaceful ambience to experience, browse and embrace the wonders within the written word.
Mel Sword: Oh good God, this is my favorite book store of all time They not only have books but everything to help you with crystals, taro cards, meditation.I can spend all day in here
Victor APT: Unique place.
Sid: Holy moly. What a cool store. As an English teacher and occult fan, the perfect combination was a book store with tarot and oracle and cauldrons and spellbooks. So cool. Dangerous store for me to walk into... my poor wallet.

Albion Books: what do users think?
Chris 778: So sad. Closing today. All saints and souls day.
Azeem Farooqui: I saw the sign board of Albion Books 32 years ago in the background of the movie 'Shoot to Kill', same board, same writing..
Jacqueline James: It was a small book store so don't expect too much but I found lots of interesting books here so I'm giving it 5 stars since my priority here is finding nice books. You can freely browse the books here and even enjoy a short read to one of their books.
Michelle Allan: Wonderful shop. The owner is very kind and helpful.
Julian Worker: There is a good selection of secondhand books at this store on Richards Street. There are probably more books than at nearby Paperhound but less books than at Macleods. However the books are easier to find at Paperhound and better sorted.
Russell Klassen: Unorganized rats nest books all over the floor a fire Hazzard
JODI: Ty 4 leaving out my sonic youth cd 3
Dhwani: I like this bookstore a lot. The cashier was so helpful and friendly. I asked for one book and within a second he handover that book to me. Overall the bookstore was managed properly and it was easily to find the books over there in a kind of reasonable price. I must recommend this store. Apart from that, the owner was too kind to me and other customers. Keep up the good work. :)
Thitaree Tanprasert: My favorite bookstore in Vancouver! Love the selection. The atmosphere is chill and friendly.
Erin Chan: Great selection and vibes!
mister dumpling: It's small, packed and cool to browse. Finding something if half the fun. Friendly staff!
Erik Burney: It’s got culture
joshua beauchamp: I would but i an illiterit
Yoly C: Stumbled across this place and fell in love! David is so welcoming and knowledgeable—he knows where all his books are if you’re looking for a specific one. Lovely atmosphere and service.
Bobby Carnage: A good variety of used records at a fair price. Friendly, helpful ownership.
Richard COOPER: Nice staff
Aleksandar Jugovic: Favourite bookshop in BC. If you are looking to lose 4 hours out of your day and not know where they went. This is your place! It is also a treasure trove of lost information, serendipitous discoveries and as they say here in Vancouver, subaltern histories. The amount of hidden treasures and rare titles is what attracts me the most to this shop.I love the people who work there, and the owner of the book shop is a walking encyclopedia!!! He's brilliant!!
Goat Eggs: This shop is amazing. If you got attitude from the owner you probably deserved it.
Colm Nolan: Great experience today. Thanks!
Kalin Roads: Fantastic selection, great prices and a very friendly and knowledgeable owner.
P Hudson: David was great! He recommended a book and also gave me directions so I got to enjoy Vancouver during a stopover! Blessed

Humpty Dumpty Books & Music: what do users think?
Sharon Tse: This bookstore was a delight. Small but wide range of interesting books for children and adults. How often do you find a bookstore selling “The Artwork of Porco Rosso”?Purchased a couple of sketch pads and under the staff, Sean’s recommendation “The I Wonder Bookstore”.Thank you Sean! Love it.I hope the bookstore continues to delight their visitors, young and old.
Lea Toulouse Florentin: I just received a package to my home in Paris from Humpty Dumpty books in Vancouver! I am saving it for Christmas morning as this is my favourite bookshop in Vancouver, so much variety. I miss this magical bookstore and I highly recommend it. Fast shipping and all the books you could want/need!!
Matthew Kalil: I ordered some books for local delivery to my brother. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that my order was filled correctly, and even provided gift wrapping and a personalized card. Communication was great and very quick.I would absolutely shop here again, without reservation!
Randall Olson: Wow! Because of the pandemic, I have been preferring to shop online and trying to patronize local shops. I went online to their site which was easy to use and had a good selection. I ordered a couple of Richard Scarry books which came to under $50. My order was quickly acknowledged and hand-delivered without additional cost to Burnaby the next day....The Next Day! It was nicely-wrapped and had a hand written note of thanks. Wow! again. I am so happy that I patronized this Vancouver institution and I encourage others to do the same. Thank you to Jennifer Kim for the awesome friendly, fast and personal service and lovely books.
Amy Smith: This long-standing Vancouver shop is the best place for kids books! The owner has great taste and understands children's literature, and enthusiastically helped me pick stuff out for my nephew.
Eleonore Shaffer: Great little shop in the Kids Only market! The owner is really knowledgeable and helped me pick out the perfect books for a friend's baby. They have online shopping available now too.

Tanglewood Books: what do users think?
Nico Smith: Holy cow, what a fantastic neighborhood book shop. Strong science fiction offering, with numerous hardbacks stacked on the top shelves. Be careful when sliding out the hardbacks! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fair prices.
Robert Cromagnon: I don't get out to this store near enough but when I do I never walk away empty-handed. I especially love the narrow aisles with books on either side. Definitely not a place you want to just "pop in for a second".
Rory Mills: Awesome aesthetic - update though, please remove transphobic book “Irreversible Damage” from front window.
Miranda Maslany: I called to inquire about a book and they got back to me very quickly and were very lovely!
Jacqueline James: It was a unique book shopping experience for me because I found the store on my way to visit a friend and I got so curious so I came inside and to my surprise, it was a nice book place filled with many impressive books. You can freely browse each book, which I found amazing.
Estelle Cunningham: It was a classic book shopping. I love their interior, it is like being inside a good antique store. You would definitely like this store even from the outside. The ambiance was nice, it not dusty but was so clean and everything is organized. I had a nice time shopping interesting books here.
Ava Hall: I really like this store!! The ambiance is great, prices are good, I believe there's a chandelier which is so sick, and the employees are nice and very interesting!! Great store, I love buying books here :)
Trey Schober: Great selection, nice staff, and you can trade in your old books.
Justin Le Herissier: Great local bookstore, worth a browse if you're in the area. If you make a purchase you can start indulging at a cool coffee shop right next door!
Marten W: Ah yes, I think this is the place where the 2 love birds first met in the movie First Love.
Nadim S: Nice brick and mortar place with real books in wooden bookshelves and a gorgeous booksmell to boot. Oh and there's the perennial Murakami!
Marina Ribatto: Great selection of classic books as well as other genres ; friendly staff relaxed atmosphere no pressure sales free to browse , great place for those that love books
Lloyd McKnight: Tidy and we'll organized
Paisley D: Great prices, good selection (at least for what I was looking for) and super friendly/knowledgable staff. Definitely adding to my list of favorite Vancouver bookstores.
Svea Poulsen (Sveava): Lovely little shop with great pricing. They don't usually have indigenous art books but a great selection of everything else.
Cecilia Yu: this is my new favourite book store, the owner is very nice and knows a lot about all the books. very friendly and peaceful atmosphere. me and my friend went today and found so many books. there is a book for everyone. they have brand new books, as well as used books for great prices, usually half off. I ended up buying six books, some brand new, and the total was only 50 dollars.
Tarun Maitra: Great book store. Really knowledgeable and interesting staff. The last time I was there, the owner bought cookies from two kids selling chocolate for charity. He also ordered a new book for me that ended up cheaper than the local chain. Go there, buy a book, and then read it at the coffee shop next door.
J M: Cute little store.. great collection of books..
Emma Gagnon: Absolutely the cutest little book shop ever. Letting you live your fantasy bookstore dreams.
Andrew R: Dropped by one sunny October day in search of a gift for my mother. While they didn't have the book I was looking for, they placed an affordable order for it in no time. Great customer service and a cozy atmosphere that makes Kitsilano and West Broadway a better place.
Joel Chico: One of my favourite book nooks in Vancouver! Wide selection of books from many genres, a bit of an exisite mystery every time you go, as you'll never know what you'll end up leaving home with! Duncan and Alan are great people to talk to about whatever book you're into or looking for!

MacLeod's Books: what do users think?
Cicy G: Great used bookstore, lots to browse.
Angus: Booklovers, come here, step back in time for the traditional second-hand book store experience. If it's your first time here, and it all looks a bit confusing, just ask the super knowledgeable staff.
Matheson Murray: My favourite bookstore in Vancouver. Staff are very helpful and know where things should be. A great place to go in not knowing what you are looking for and coming out with a couple of books.
Bizou: You will find everything you came for and more
Artie Lane: Hard to imagine what they DON'T have. Very helpful, very well stocked.
Veronica Zayas: If you enjoy reading, this is your place. They have a huge amount of books from many different categories and they are second hand which makes them much cheaper and in very good conditions. You have to look a little if you want to find anything in particular but you´ll enjoy looking around and can find so many things.
stephen wilde: wonder the isles. step over the piles. even if you’re not looking for a book and just want one of the best visual historic vancouver (not yet torn down made into cheap/expensive condos) experiences, you will find a book to purchase!!!
Geoff DeLuca: So many books! Go there if you like looking thru piles of books for used hard to find books. Helpful staff, good location.
Kris Toijonen: Friendly service, and a wide selection of most everything!
SN: Excellent selection and friendly staff. Prices for newer releases were decent (not cheap, but fair considering recency + condition). Will be returning soon!
Reggie Johnson: Incredibly rude staff
Karena Lindstrom: Very cool used bookstore, literally filled to the brim with books on many topics. There was a wide selection of old, hardcover titles. The staff were friendly and helpful for locating areas within the shop on a certain topic/genre.
Eric Saczuk: A true literary treasure trove...if you can look past the disorganized mess. Super helpful staff who seem to know everything about each book you pick up.
Gregory Devine: Everything you want a bookstore to be. Every time I'm in Vancouver, I visit.
Alessandro Monetti: Complete chaos. Piles of books everywhere making it hard to move around the store (someone knocked down piles simply by turning around). Labels on shelves don’t always match what’s on there. I’m sure there are plenty of great titles, but way too disorganized for my taste.
Henry Chen: A true treasure in the city. Mountains of books here, you can find lots of interesting/unique ones. A perfect spot to spend some down time here!
Robert Cromagnon: Books, books, and more books! Books on shelves, books in piles, books in the window.....and staff who know exactly where to point you. The trouble is every time I pop in looking for one specific book I usually walk out with three or four more. A bibliophile's paradise!
Aaddmd Desai: AmazingStore
Turtles and Peace Photography: I went to Macleod’s Books to sell some of my collection. They have an incredible store with lots to choose from! The store was busy, the staff were busy, but I was greeted and dealt with quickly and respectfully! I got a fair price for my books and the ones that they didn’t buy, they said it’s because they won’t sell well. I highly recommend Macleod’s Books for buying or selling!
Julian Worker: An excellent secondhand bookshop with many different sections to choose from. There's been a bit of a tidy up recently and there aren't quite as many books on the floor as there used to be but the choice is still overwhelming and you'll probably end up buying a book you didn't come into the store to buy.
Tatyana A: It's an interesting bookstore, with very proactive staff, but I would not recommend going if you have anxiety. I was visiting from out of town and wanted to stop in as soon as I saw it! I went right to the desk to ask where to find culinary books, and they directed us right to it. But as I was looking around, I went to take a picture and was told off in an unnecessarily stern manner. They spoke to me as if I willfully ignored their no photography policy, but I only saw the sign after they mentioned it, as they were both by the entrance and very easy to miss amongst all the books. I apologized profusely, and repeatedly, as well as deleted the photo. But I had to spend the rest of the visit just trying to quell my anxiety rather than enjoy the store.

Heide Ballesteros: Friendly staff at the drums department. E-drums are usually rented out fast. Dave was nice to call me back as soon as they got one drum set available and had it prepared nicely for pick up. Convenient and fast transaction when you are there. Store is huge. Would be the one-stop shop when you need something.
Deejay Bjorn: Love doing business with long and McQuaid. Love their lowest price guarantee and just the way they treat customersbis amazing. Very kind and considerate staff and management. Kudos
David Fowler: Very happy with my two latest guitars - purchased at the Terminal Ave Long and McQuade. It's a little out of my way, but always worth the trip! Thanks again to Chad, Wesley, and Caleb!
orangeravii •: This is my go to place now specifically if I need to buy acoustic guitar related products. I also love the people who work at their acoustic guitar department, especially to Brian and Khasian, who were a big help and knowledgeable. I also like the enthusiasm they show, even at busy times! Keep up the great work! 😎
Amin Ya: Very friendly and helpful. They have a great service for repair, set-up, etc.
Nolan Males: It was pretty good place. They had lots of cool thing there, and we had to get some speakers. The customers were nice as well.
silveryfeather208: Not sure if it's my bad luck or what. I emailed the lesson center and no response. Called and no one was there to pick up. Called on two separate ocadsions. So I had to go to the store physically. Was ok.
Grimoaldo Assuncao: Amazing store with a full variety of instruments, acessories and others. Also classes of all instruments.A huge parking lot for customers.I really recommend this place.

Eddie C: Absolutely love this company and this location specifically. Consistently amazing service from friendly and knowledgeable staff. GREAT selection of products. Lessons for musical instruments with great teachers. Really really impressed.
Peter Towler: I always get great service at Long and McQuade locations, but today’s experience at the Terminal Ave location was exceptional. Kassian, thank you SO much for taking the time to help me today. My GS Mini Koa thanks you as well.
Dominik Csonka: If you're in need of rental items, this is the perfect spot to visit. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to assist you with your needs, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience. Trustworthy and reliable, you can count on this establishment to provide top-notch service every time.
Moj Noroozi: We are happy with our experience here, renting microphones and speakers for a reasonable price. They made sure all the cables and chargers are working properly. Staff are so nice and helpful.
S: I would not recommend getting your guitar tuned up here. I was billed $669.30 for repairs done without my consent.I was originally quoted around $150 for a small service suggestion, even though my initial reason for coming in was to simply buy new strings and have them put on for me.I found out later that Long & McQuade commissions a part-time technician (Jake) that took my instrument to their home to repair. This could also explain why it took so long to get my instrument back.I had 2 very unpleasant interactions with the repair technician over the phone. Jake was very rude and entitled on the phone. He suggested around $250 worth of repair, so I needed time to think about it. In the end, I called them to give them OK for a $250 repair, as I naively trusted they had reason to believe this was necessary.3 weeks later, I receive a bill that my guitar is ready for pick up, at $669.30!I called the manager right away, and he lowered the price back down to the original quote of $150. The repair description was very loosely described and printed on a small receipt, not even a real piece of paper. Very questionable billing.
Chanel Vautour: Good selection

Tapestry Music Ltd: what do users think?
veruca spin: Quite delighted with this local Vancouver shop! Our new-ish to music family has rented school instruments from Tapestry as well as bought new, fun things, and we’ve always felt well taken care of!
Caitlin Frame: I’ve been coming here for years. Staff are very friendly!
Clayton McKee: My 11 year old daughter and I have decided to learn to play the electric guitar together but were a bit intimidated by it all. John take amazing care of us - zero pressure but very attentive to our individual quirks. I almost bought something I shouldn't have but he showed me a much better choice for a fraction of the cost. We'll be back!
sheila li: Prompt response and very nice service. Would recommend!
Sahar Kanani: Tapestry on W 10th Ave: Great service, extremely professional & friendly staff, an amazing gem in a neighborhood which most other businesses are struggling. Please support local businesses in our city.
Andrew Pope: The store is larger than I thought, with a wide variety of instruments. The guys were helpful and friendly while helping me to rent a violin for my daughter, and advised me about drum sticks.
Amber Feng: Nice place to rent and buying instruments for your kids. Staff are friendly and genuine. Just got a ukulele for my son.
Mark Rossum: I had an amazing spontaneous inspired purchase recently. This place is full of great energy. Love it and now my son and I have a place to build out our musical instrument experience. Thanks guys.
Michelle Tan: We did not know about Tapestry Music until we happened to be in the area, saw it, and walked in because we were in the market for a new flute for our child. We browsed the store while a customer was being serviced. And when it came our turn, we asked if they had a curved flute in stock. The assistant told us there wasn't one in stock at that location, and she said she could look it up to see whether their other store had it, and indeed, their White Rock location had one in stock. She told us that it could be transferred over. We did not have to put a deposit down for the transfer. We were called within 3 days that the flute was available for pickup. We picked it up and paid for it today. Everything went smoothly with the order. We would recommend buying from this local small business for the attentive service and customer care.
Tom Jones: Friendly and knowledgeable service at a cool store.
David Kolawole: Tapestry treated me with respect and politeness
Jessey Hua: Purchase my kids ‘ violin, viola and music theory books here. The staff is very friendly and professional. Recommend! Always give me the best service!
Li Li: Very good music store and staff.
Marvin Bancouver: Thanks for letting me leave the postcards!
Linda Jones: I ordered a Royal Conservatory of Music Voice book from this company a day or so ago. It has arrived today in good time, in great condition and well packaged. I cannot recommend this company more highly for ease of ordering and efficiency since I needed this book to practise with right away to be ready for a lesson next week. Would definitely re-order from this company again and highly recommend it.
Miriam Homem de Mello: Nice store, well organized and full of interesting instruments and books. I spent almost one hour playing guitars, trying different ones and it was an amazing experience to be there. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend a visit.
Pauline Kung: Friendly and helpful staff, great place to buy or rent instruments.
Scott Shpak: I became aware of Tapestry Music recently online. When I saw the pickup combo on the Gretsch, I thought, "why not?" and ordered. The process was simple in online commerce terms and free shipping was a nice touch. I got a call later that day informing me of a factory flaw that bumped the guitar down to B-stock status and I was offered the choice of cancelling the sale or accepting a markdown. I chose the latter and I'm still looking for the flaw. Completely positive guitar purchase and I have no hesitation recommending Tapestry.
Diego Domene: It was my first visit to the store. Even though I was only getting small accessories, the staff were super friendly and patient. They also gave me and my friend great recommendations.
J Wong: Fast shipping
Inchang Hwang: Great experience! The instruments were excellent, and I had enough time to test out the sounds. Most of all, the staff provided a kind and detailed explanation of the instruments. Highly recommended

Kestrel Books: what do users think?
bronwyn kroh: One of my favourite local book stores. Have been coming here my whole life
A Chen: Wonderful selection of books! The bookstore is bright, clean and welcoming. Will visit again😊
Alexander Lu: great selection of classics, poetry, and fine arts. love the atmosphere and the music, super chill. my new favourite used and rare book store in Vancouver
Nico Smith: All the fiction is sorted together, by author. More fantasy than sci-fi. Paperback heavy. Very helpful staff that will make suggestions.
Sarah Blackwood: Lovely bookstore and great selection. Woman working there was a delight and extremely helpful! I cannot wait to return again.
Joe A: A delightful book store
Thomas Bunbury: Probably the best bookstore in Vancouver. A beautifully curated collection. I can’t seem to walk in without walking out with a book under my arm. The owner is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. If you live in the area a must. If you don’t, it’s worth the trip.
McKinley Johnson: Loved stopping at Kestrel, the owner was so nice and helpful and their selection of books had a little of everything in the best way.
Jessica Kay: I got up today with the sole purpose of making the hour long trek out to Kestrel today to pick up some hard to find and long out of circulation editions of some books I had put on hold the day before. I was already excited but then, after I made my purchase, I decided to browse lol.... As per usual, I found what I was looking for and then some at this the loveliest of shops!!Thank you Ron for everything and as always, it was lovely chatting and having a bit of a laugh with you, glad we've now officially introduced ourselves! And I must say, if I hadn't remembered that I had forgotten it, my plant looked quite attractive and at home on your front counter! 😊📚
Estelle Cunningham: It was an adorable book store with a lot to choose from. It has a cozy and the books were arranged accordingly. You will find it easy to shop nice books here. The prices were reasonable and each of the books I bought was a page-turner. I would definitely shop here again for more fascinating books.
Ren Chouinard: Amazing little store with a huge variety of books at great prices!
Lorne Haveruk: Nice neighbourhood bookstore with a large variety of topics covered.
Sarah “Biancanetta” A: Cute little bookstore with older, rare, and put of print books. I wish I'd had more time to look around but my 3 year old wasn't really letting me. I shall return!
Sarah: Cozy little bookstore. The shop is organized and the shelves/sections are easy to navigate. I found a book I was looking for and would shop here again.
Conrad Wolf: An absolutely awesome bookstore with some great collections and loads of interesting (and well preserved books). At good prices, too. However, the owner (or whoever the elderly gentleman with no hair who sells the books is) has a horrible, horrible attitude. The last time this man cracked a smiled was probably in the 1960s. As long as he is there, I wont' be going back.
Russell Klassen: Bought a book off this guy
Mark Chambers: Great bookstore!
ifournier96: I love this place so much
Kris B: Kestrel Books is a used Bookstore on West 4th and Alma in Vancouver. I've been there a few times and I always purchased from them. Yesterday I went there again. The older gentleman working who's apparently the owner was extremely rude to me. I was furious. I left the books I was gonna buy and I left the store. I will probably never go there again.
Fiona Burness: One of the best book shops in Vancouver. Huge selection of quality reads, priced well. I miss the cat that used to live in the shop but this is still a destination book store.
Ketarel: Cool books, cool staff.. the world would be a better place if there were more lil bookstores like this.

The Paper Hound Bookshop: what do users think?
R Lowery: Such a cool little bookshop! If you like vintage, antique or collectible books this place is the best. The prices are really fair as well, especially since many of the books are in really good condition.
P D: the Paper Hound is a small precious gem of a bookstore.
Robert Barry: Well kept location, cool selection, friendly owner, and a puppo in the store.!! What more do you want?
Alessandro Monetti: Lovely, neatly curated spot. I was looking for 3 specific books but I only needed to find 1, as I was happy to read whichever I could find first. I visited 3 much larger bookstores in the area, some of which said they had items in stock that apparently they didn’t — or couldn’t find due to chaotic [lack of] organization — I finally found one of them right here! Lots of other interesting titles here. I’ll be back the next time I’m in Vancouver!
Shirin K: Friendly, helpful staff....bookstore where serendipitous things happen, such as Guatemalan coin findings! ;-)
Robert Cromagnon: Cozy space with a great overall selection inside plus a bargain cart outside. The sales staff really know their stuff too.
Julian Worker: This is a lovely bookshop where the books are easier to find than in MacLeods on the other side of the road. They do have some new books too as well as many second-hand books. There are many genres including philosophy, thrillers, and novels. The shop also sells collectibles and titles published by the New York Review of Books.
Anastasia Kostaki: Super cute and quirky bookshop with interesting shelf names and book categories. A must for book lovers ♥️
Keith Gilbert: A great independent bookstore with carefully chosen stock. If I come into browse I always find (several) somethings of interest. Especially good for literature and poetry and books in the Humanities. New and second hand, always in good condition. My favorite bookstore.
Soefae Chen: Beautiful and neat little bookshop. The ambience is great and the shelves are organized with creating sorting names. The employee I met was knowledgeable and enjoyable to chat with. I will definitely be visiting the shop soon again.
Nainika Agrawal: A beautiful bookstore with a peaceful vibe and some interesting titles. Their collection isn’t as huge as MacLeod’s down the street, but it’s tidier and more organised.
Harneet Heer: Loved it! Great selection of books and decent prices.
Christoph: This wonderful little Buchhandlung is utterly saturated with delights - all housed in a unique realm that will surely compel you to forget your worries and dream. To visit this place is to do your health and wellbeing a wonderful favour. I look forward to my next journey. Thank you for the E.T.A Hoffmann collection!
Rose Sun: One of my favourite bookstores in Vancouver! Such interesting decor and fascinating collection of books
Mahshad: Tons of interesting books. Feels great and nostalgic
Stephen Gregory Nelson: Well it looked nice from the outside. Never been in there. Just walked by it so but I can tell you this. Don't judge a book by its cover lol
Lily Beigi: Cute little book store.
Estelle Cunningham: It was a nice place and it feels comfortable inside. What makes it special is its good selection of books. You will have a lot to choose from and the price is very affordable. I was interested to a lot of books here but I only bought just 2 books because my budget is tight recently.
Lin Kathy: Cute
Jochen Fromm: Nice little 2nd hand bookstore. Good collection of rare books.
Invidia Midnight: Very warm and lovely store with wide and highly tasteful selection. Perfect place to pick up quality literature in multiple languages all in one convenient location. Staff are kind and helpful. Always a treat coming here. Definitely recommend, especially for people who like to collect vintage books, read in several languages, or are looking for a solid philosophy selection.

Massy Books: what do users think?
Theodore Jakob: Phenomenal bookstore, incredibly helpful staff & great selection. The staff are very knowledgeable. Couldn't give a higher recommendation!
Sebastian Fiorini: Great selection, knowledgeable staff, and pays living wages for their employees. Highly recommend
MikeGonzales84: Great book store. Indigenous owned. Great selection. Easy to find. Definitely recommend visiting. I will be returning and getting a few more books at a later date.
Jesse Byiers: My favourite book store in the city. Phenomenal selection of fiction, poetry and indigenous lit as well as extensive reads on queer, gender and sexwork. With art and drama works upstairs that doubles as a gallery from time to time I can get lost in this store for endless hours.
Sofia Lowenstein: Really good selection of books if you're into socioeconomic issues. It also has a good selection of local authors, authors of colour, indigenous authors, and topics of all kinds. Just overall amazing selection and atmosphere and wonderful staff.
Chiara Berton: A very nice and cosy book store. I was very excited about the secret room behind a bookshelf. There is a great selection of books, also second-hand books. The only thing is that some books are to high placed to even look at.
Mary S: Really great selection but man o man are they expensive. Not for the budget conscious 😭
David Jolivet: Easily accessable by wheel chair, Or scooter, parking no problems accessable for mobile or whwel chair devices as well. Friendly staff, who are very eager to help if you need assistance in finding your book. Kid friendly and any book you want you'll get it here.great place its a really good business in Vancouver.
Rachel W: I came in specifically to ask for recommendations on some very niche topics. The staff compiled a whole list of recommendations (some of which weren’t even sold in the store) with zero sales pressure.. Extremely cool and knowledgeable bunch of people. Plus, over a certain price you can get a discount or you can donate it to the Massy Arts fund. Massy is an Indigenous owned and operated bookstore—very important, and so thankful to have this gem in town.
Travis Amyott: Charming book store, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fun to explore, and get lost in. Easy to order books, if they do not have in stock; they are happy to also redirect you to another store if it's a better option. Welcoming to all :).
Effie S: This is an example of an excellent book store. We are big collectors, and though we had less interest in the general selection, the rare books in the locked glass case were a delight to look at. The staff also didn't hound us or monitor us while we examined all the books and we took our time doing so (we inspect books quite meticulously). Once we selected the books, we returned to pay. A rare book set we recognized had just come out of a box and was being prepared to be priced. We inquired about it and even though it had not been put on the floor, it was offered to us on the spot and at an excellent price. We really appreciated that, that the staff were so friendly and accommodating, and also they gave us a nice tote for free to protect the box set. Will certainly stop in again on our next visit to this city.
Julie: Favourite bookstore in vancouver!Very cozy, neat and it has various kind of books about gender, indigenous people, and LGBTQ+.Reasonable prices for second-hand books, they are almost new.
FancyChristine: Massy books is a great space, and the staff are friendly and professional. I appreciate the large selection of books about Indigenous people, places and histories, it’s a very community-focused store, and I feel safe shopping there. The preorder process is easy, and I appreciate how it currently includes the option to make donations. Very grateful for Massy Books!
Gray Elf: Well curated book selection, art showcase, caring for employees, Indigenous owned, central location.... What are you waiting for? Get yourself to Massy!
Taryn Peterson: Indigenous owned wonderful bookstore with a secret room 🤩 would reccomend.
Elsi Dawson: Always welcoming, so helpful. Staff are knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and genuinely warm. Every time I'm here, I see interactions with the wider community that makes me proud to call this my local bookstore.
Duncan McIntyre: Extremely well-read staff members give the most thoughtful recommendations. Amazing selection. A must-visit - an experience like no other!
Soefae Chen: I visited Massy Books with a friend recently. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by two very friendly employees, one of which complimented my makeup, which made my day. I am very impressed with this bookstore as it has many sections promoting authors that don’t get as much recognition as they deserve, such as Indigenous authors. The bookstore interior is very tidy and organized. There is even a secret room hidden behind a bookshelf, which was quite a surprise :) Overall, would reccomend!
Jui-Ting Hsu: An incredible treasure of books, of all parchment and genres, housed in a small enclosure within Chinatown. Peruse the sections, or - if you so choose - visit the website to discover new and welcome recommendations!
Marissa Jolin-Dobbin Lim: Amazing selection and service
M: Great selection of used books, wonderful service and fantastic prices.
