Chyann Garrick: Went here for date night a day ordered the seafood tower. It was decent but I've had better for cheaper. It is quite pricey but the service was phenomenal which makes us for the costly price. I dropped my fork at one point in the night and the server came with a new one before I even asked. Patrice Ouellet: Amazing meal! Great food, great service! Really enjoyed our time at Joe Fortes!!
Melissa Denise: I've been here before but today was the perfect experience thanks to our lovely server Anais. She was so kind and thoughtful!I really wanted the sable fish which is usually only available for dinner, but Anais pulled some strings in the kitchen and I was able to have it for lunch today :) It's one of my fave dishes here as the fish is so buttery and the miso glaze is nice and sweet. My friend had the halibut which she loved. We also shared the deep fried oysters which were delicious. Our coffees were constantly refilled for us (thank you) and Anais brought us the tastiest dessert which happened to also be one of my faves... The creme brulee! The rooftop patio is one of the prettiest in the city and even though today was partly cloudy, we were very comfortable sitting up there.Joe Fortes is a restaurant I always recommend to my friends. Not only is the food and service consistently great but the restaurant always donates a gift card to our hospital unit every Christmas :) HealthCare workers absolutely love Joe Fortes!Thank you!

CutestKitten: Food was average but way overpriced for the quality. My 60$ steak was tough as a glove. The water Mellon salad was half a tomato placed whole on a plate with a piece of feta and Mellon. And to top it off the bar sent me a flat coke with a one inch shard of broken glass that I drank into my mouth and cut my lip. I didn't make a big deal about almost dying because I was in shock and was offered a free desert. But cried alot later in the evening of my bfs bday dinner as I could have died overall not impressed might come back though in a few years
Nick Burrows: Service from Tony was fine. The food tasted alright. Big step down compared to the last time we were there. The best part was being sick for hours at 2am and again in the morning. Probably won’t be back again any time soon.

Black+Blue: what do users think?
Nik Southwell: Again, another amazing experience. Worldly travelled and after consuming meats from all around the globe, I actually had one of the best steaks to date last night right here in Vancouver. Every bit of our night was perfect.
Saadiq Daya: Delicious food, service was good and quick, they were ok with my dog on the patio. Had the sea bass, was so perfectly cooked and seasoned
Jagdip Singh: We got there and tried the A5 Wagyu. This is the most expensive steak on the menu around $36 per ounce and I got 10 ounces due to them not having the 6 ounce. When arrived to the table this was not cooked correctly and was rested for too long causing the steak to become cold and rigid in the flavour. I complained and they mentioned they can do another one however I said its okay as I expected better from the restaurant. Its a shame due to the reputation of this place however it goes to show quality is not always monitored. Especially when spending $760 for 2 steaks. As for the service the waiter was not aware how to leave the customers to eat. I realised he was trying to be nice however there was not social awareness on how to handle an audience. We would be in a middle of a conversation and 4x the server came over to tell us about something or how the steak will be cooked and why even though we did not care. A better approach would have been to ask if we would like to know and not force knowledge onto customers that don't really care or perhaps already have knowledge on steaks. The sides were nice however overpriced again.Average restaurant more expensive due to the area I believe and was disappointing altogether unfortunately.
Angella Grau: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Haydn Keung: Their service was good and the decor was very nice. However, their steak was way overcooked for medium rare. The experience was nice but definitely not worth the price. Overall I would not recommend. For the same price, you can get much better food and experience elsewhere.
Mitra Azar: One of my fav restaurants in Vancouver. I been going here for 8 years and it never disappoints. Reserve a table a head of time to avoid waits. The rooftop has the best vibe and environment.
Paul Post: Best steaks, best people and a great atmosphereFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sheila Nemati: The service was fantastic, the wait staff asked everyone for allergies or if there was anything they should know. The food was tasty, however the portions were a little on the small side. Prices are relative to what you get…if you are on a budget maybe not the place but it you want to treat yourself to something nice definitely the place.

Nina rally: Got to go here as part of a team activity and we were served a variety of items. Deep fried brussels sprout was so delicious. The shrimp was so tender amd I think my favourite. All the meat options were good too. I absolutely loved the cheese here as well.

Bruin Boy: Overall great experience, only thing that could have been improved upon was the steak knife that wasn't as sharp as it should be given the quality of meat they serve. Good thing I brought my own.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Mac and Cheese Sticks …More

Hy's Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar: what do users think?
A PH: Did not enjoy. At this price point, I expect a superior product. What was offered to me could be purchased at a local supermarket as a single A grade steak . They should have someone checking the product before it goes out to the table at 120 dollars for a steak. Hope it was a one off . But I would not return to try again.Food: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More

Harland Wirth: The best review I can leave is that my friend told me he'd never heard me say "mmmhmmm" so many times in a row while eating.Old-school Steakhouse fantastic meal. Waitstaff was fun but professional. Little expensive but worth the money if you can afford it.
Tom Grondin: Pretty disappointing experience. The only fancy steakhouse I have ever been to that doesn’t give you bread with your meal. You need to buy it and they push it on you as soon as you sit down. The steak cuts were inconsistent. Two NY strips could be completely different in thickness and size. Something you would never see at a Morton’s. Steaks cooked to wrong temperature, poor healthy side dish options (fried, cheese, etc are unavoidable). Should be 2/3 cheaper for the quality.
Aman Singh: My favourite steakhouse in Vancouver and I've been to them all. Everything about Hy's is so good. The cheesy bread and caeser salad is just to die for and of course the steak is pretty good too, lol. Always have a great time here. Service is always top notch 👌

Clifton Brock: The food was excellent, the waitress did a super job, and the atmosphere was civilised, and it worked. Some of the dishes are prepared at your table, which adds to the theatre and atmosphere. I would highly recommend Hy's. Aidin Shariatzadeh: High quality stakes and wines
Nick Villanti: This is a great classic steak house. They offer table side caesar and bananas foster. Overall, the food was great. We ordered the beef wellington medium rare but came out closer to medium well. My wife ordered the filet, and it came out medium rare (as expected).Service was perfect. Our waiter even let the kids help with the table side caesar. When we are back in town, we will definitely come back.

Sean Wiebe: The food, service and ambiance was awesome. While on the expensive side it is absolutely worth it for a special occasion.
Pippa: Very good, but not too sure it’s worth the price. More of a place to be seen in terms of the cost.
Hans Moon: Nice food and friendly staff that would go the extra mile to accommodate for specific dietary requirements.Vegetarian options: Good selection of salads soups and other veggie optionsDietary restrictions: I told staff I can't have food items mixed/cooked with alcohol, they checked what I can have and asked the chef to change the sauce for one item, kudos for helpful staff.
Evan: Doesn't get much better than fresh and well prepared seafood platter and sashimi on the patio! Liam especially stood out with excellent service. Having previously been a chef, he was very knowledgeable and efficient. Definitely added to a fun night!
Bob A: amazing food and service. definitely top end but worth it. took a group of business colleagues here and the experience was very memorable
Amy Kiesenwetter: The food is unreal, but the service is outstanding!! Adam is the bartender to see. I was in the mood for a Margarita... And not the spicy one on the menu (also delicious)... So I asked him to mix up something cool and unique. I have no idea what was in it, but it was spectacular! I love walking into a restaurant and having the ability to talk to knowledgeable staff that follow through with delicious items!! That is why we all go out to these places, right!!?? Thank you, Adam!!
Holly Schroedter: Awesome experience here. No complaints. Service was superb, food was amazing. Would 10/10 recommend.

Lucie In the sky: My favorite restaurant in Vancouver. Service and quality of the food is always on point and has been consistent over the years.
Pablo Santos: I had probably one of my best dinner experiences last night. The restaurant was elegant and cozy, with a beautiful atmosphere. The food was delicious and creative, with a variety of dishes to suit different tastes and preferences. I especially enjoyed the Kobe style shortribs, the fish and the chocolate cake. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made me feel welcome and comfortable. I want to give a special shout-out to Adrien, who was my guide for the night. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list, and he gave me great recommendations based on my preferences. He was also very charming and witty. He really went above and beyond to make my night memorable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a 5 star dining experience in Vancouver. It is worth every penny and more.
HJ Marshall: We were there for a wedding. It has a cozy room for the special event. The food was great, the service was awesome and the couple got married. It was a perfect night.
Tess Filling: Staff were wonderful, drinks were great, and the raw bar dishes were delicious. The tsunami dish (pictured) was so perfectly balanced. We will be back during our next trip to Vancouver.Recommended dishes Ahi Tuna Tataki …More
Pamela Key: An exceptional experience with the highest quality ingredients and flavours. The service we received here should have provided us with a seven star option to select. Above and beyond. Thank you to the entire team, from start to finish absolutely incredible. We cannot wait to return.
Winston Mew: A delicious dinner with excellent service from Liam. A great place to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The seafood plateau was a tasty appetizer sized just right for 2 people. Just love the special fork they have to aid diners with the assorted oysters, mussels, clams, and other tasty treats. The halibut was firm and juicy, and although the steak was medium rather than the medium-rare we requested, it was still juicy and very tasty. We didn’t leave much room for desert, so settled for tasty strawberry & raspberry lemon tarts. Highly recommended for a memorable night out.

Olivia Marais: Not sure if it was just an off night but was pretty underwhelmed. We waited 25 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. We sat at the bar and the chairs were uncomfortable. Quite noisy inside, couldn’t hear anyone that wasn’t sitting beside me. There was a table on the other side of the restaurant that was very noisy, I really wish they had talked to them to calm down.As for the food, we had the tasting menu inspired by different kinds of trees. The dishes were unique and most were delicious but the pork which was the main dish was rubbery and I left most of it on my plate. The mushroom dish, shrimp on toast, ravioli, and olive oil cake were really good. The ravioli was lukewarm and I found a small hair in it (we were sitting right by the kitchen and none of the kitchen staff were wearing hats), but otherwise it was great. The wine pairings were very nice.Overall compared to the other Michelin restaurants I’ve visited, this was underwhelming. Our experience would have been a lot better if the restaurant was less noisy and the chairs more comfortable... it's amazing what a difference those small details can make. Unfortunately I probably won’t be back.
Grace Waeohongsa: I’ve tried the set menu and I found it’s all good in a small portion of every dishes. Jake C.: I'm truly shocked by the number of low reviews of Burdock (granted most are from a few years ago). This place was one of the best dining experiences in the city in my opinion. A truly local assortment of foods with a great story behind every dish. The wine list is also amazing, and you won't be disappointed with either of the pairing options (they offer a standard and a premium level). Portion size was what you'd expect at a set menu experience like this. Totally adequate and not too small like most people say. I would recommend ordering the fried chicken and one of the other optional starters (they're all delicious) if you show up hungry though. The staff were quite friendly but not over the top. What was most important is they were knowledgeable about what they were serving and the story behind it. If you enjoy a truly great dining experience this is your place.
Aoife Dowling: I have wanted to go here for many years and was almost sad when it got the Michelin star as I feared that was true end of my chance to get a table and the cost would double. But.. the chance finally came and it was an experience worth waiting for.The restaurant offers a set menu ($95) is 5 courses, modest in size but outsized in interesting ingredients (many of which are locally foraged) and flavour/texture combinations. The starters (or add ons) are shared portions and come before the mains if you so choose. We decided we needed to try the savoury profiteroles with fois gras and we didn’t regret it.We went for the wine pairing and didn’t regret it. The knowledgeable background on the producers and their methods was really engaging and each was the perfect sup for the plates. They are all organic (natty wines, as I’ve been told) which I’ll be honest, I’m sometimes afraid of in case we’re sacrificing quality for the organic label, but these were great in their own right and turned me into a believer. The service was very casual, friendly, detailed, completely comfortable but still absolutely highest class. The only quibble I have at all was the bar seating which is never my favourite because I felt like I had to turn to my eating partner to see them and eat half turned on my seat. So, I’d ask for a table on the floor if you can. (I know for next time). And last but not least the menu itself was interesting, drew you in. It was a really delightful. The stuffed morels the aged dry pork, the light and fluffy sauce that housed the ravioli. The citrus (hydroponically grown on salt spring island) everything had a story to accompany the taste.Glad to have made it here finally, hope to come back soon.
Nick Go: Was on my list of places to try and I was not disappointed!Everything was delicious and I liked the creativity and presentation of the dishes. The lamb that was cooked two ways was a real treat. The service was quite accommodating as well, which unfortunately is not a guarantee nowadays especially with certain restaurants.Only minor nitpick is that the restaurant was a bit too dim and they need a foyer as whenever the door was opened the cold winter wind would blow in. Otherwise, I recommend Burdock and Co and will be back again soon.
Jessica Martel: Amazing place. Nice wine list, food is fresh, perfectly put together. And Shiva makes the experience even better. Absolute must in Vancouver.
Bonnie S: For a Michelin star restaurant, the service was disappointing. We went here for a birthday celebration which was indicated on the reservation. There was no mention of this or asking throughout the meal at all. We also had a cocktail with our meal that was quite subpar with the taste profile. It was bitter and sour. I do believe that other restaurants which received a Michelin star had a better dining experience. It may have been deserving to be on the Michelin recommended list (not a star), but given our experience, we were quite disappointed. I would probably not recommend for others to come if they are expecting a Michelin star experience.
Víctor Barreda: Menu was very original and creative but out of the five courses we had only one was memorable, others laked taste and presence. Menu changes often hopefully it gets better next time. Unfortunately this time it did not impress and for the price was kind of disappointing specially for the expectations a micheling Star restaurant. Service was very good but thr timing between the courses felt really long and compared to tables on either side of ours it was considerable.
Spike Luk: The Mrs and I decided to celebrate my birthday at Burdock and Co.. Today was the last day of the Citrus menu as they apparently prepared a 10th Anniversary menu. The restaurant received a Michelin star. Our server told us with a menu that changes regularly and different Michelin reviewers they couldn’t say what dish earned them that rating.I have to say the service was excellent and everyone seemed friendly and attentive. The food was very good overall. The chef was creative. Each dish was well plated and the flavours from each ingredient had a purpose and paired well with each other. My wife was full but I have to say I can imagine a lot of people would require larger portions. The atmosphere was great. The restaurant is small but we could hold a conversation easily. My one complaint is that the pace of service felt a little rushed. My wife and I barely finished the wine pairings before the next course. Tonight was not a busy night yet they felt the food had to come out sooner.Would we come back again? YesWould we recommend here? 100%Is it affordable? No.Is it worth it? It is worth a try. You could just order the tasting menu and share a bottle of wine or avoid the alcohol all together and enjoy the food!I love the concept here and look forward to seeing what the next tasting menu brings.
Jason Oppliger: This place rocks. Amazing flavors in everything. Fun and delicious dishes. Reasonable wines by the glass but not a ton, so prob just get the wine pairing. One of the my new favorite restaurants.
hameed dhanani: My partner and I went for our 4 year anniversary not knowing what to expect. The food and ambience were great, but the standout element was the service. Kieran was EXCELLENT, actually the best server my girlfriend and I EVER had. In the past, servers have always been 'there', pleasant, good to deal with, but Kieran elevated the experience from great food, to a great overall experience. We will come back for his jokes and insight. My only regret is not asking where he got his glasses from (I lowkey want a pair).
Ali Taheri: More than anything, im disappointed in Michelin guid people, our “citrus journey “ set menu was just meh, nth to go back to, nth special, the price makes it even worst, its easy to get fooled by all the dish descriptions from the waitress “ this comes from where infused with that none sense “

Deanna Huff: It was fine. No complaints. Food and drinks (margaritas) were alright but maybe a bit bland. But definitely not a complaint. Just not what I was expecting. I would eat there again.Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Stephen Gibson: Excellent first meal and beer in Canada. Nice sports bar atmosphere with good beer on tap and excellent service.
D J: Expensive
Rebekah Woodward: This place is lucky they have this location as the food is certainly not why anyone is coming. Terrible, over priced, and from a jar. They couldn't even use fresh jalapeños on the nachos and the "spicy" ground beef reminded me of something from a hamburger helper. Service was good at least.
Neehal M: Awesome place to have a relaxing lunch! Service is perfect and the happy hour specials are a bargain. 👍🍻Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Nachos with Cheese, Grilled Cheese Burger, Teriyaki Bowl …More
Gina West: Not bad, ordered steak sandwich, medium rare but was over cooked, chewy. Had coffee, waitress didn’t offer refill. Also not so friendly. Seemed they wanted us out but we were hungry. Ate and left. Staying at the hotel to. Live and learn. We won’t be backWheelchair accessibility: It’s not bad, no button for door to open for wheelchair. A person on wheelchair would have to get themselves out
Andrew Hartung: Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
María Inés Parnisari: I had butter chicken, it was okay, nor amazing. Service was very good though!Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Gildardo Mendez: Me gustó todo acerca del lugar, pero por sobretodo me encantó el servicio
Anna Fu: We had Happy Hour with beer and juicy crispy chicken wings.A bit noisy cause it is a bar.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Henry Procyk: Great place to eat and socializeFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Chicken Wings …More
Jean-Paul Laube: Great service, especially by Justice. She has my drink in front of me before I even sit down.
Brock Carbery: Had breakfast on Sunday march 5th. I realize you were short staffed but you should not even bother serving the breakfast you served us. It was quite possibly the worst breakfast we had ever had. Everything was completely ice cold on all 6 of our plates and if we had sent it back it would have been another hour to get it. We felt sorry for the staff, they were doing the best they could.
Andres: Food was ok, ordered chicken wings, beef dip and nachos (don't order them). On the other hand service was great!Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
iTScomplicated: Went 3 times with my brother in 5 days, seen manager third time....no "welcome back" or "good to see you guys". This is after spending around $300.00 with tips. Blonde server seemed like she just had to work there/ no personality. Terrible hospitality. Won't be back!!
David Yates: Not a bad hotel restaurant. Had the Buffalo chicken poutine and it was definitely satisfying.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Rachael Smith: Lovely staff and very accommodating. Steak was juicy and perfect. Definitely recommendDietary restrictions: Accommodating to lactose free individuals
R a: Usually a big fan and every restaurant has an off day. Greeting was good, steady crowd for two servers, menu offered shortly after. That’s about it, no return to take a drink order or food, a Doordash person came in and the bartender went to get their order. I unfortunately left. You have to care a little bit more, schedule one more person or maybe not look too hard for why sales are down.

Sarah ingram-reid: Made a reservation over a month in advance for the patio, came to Vancouver from Vancouver island just to come to this restaurant. When I arrived they had told me that a large party has come in and the patio is no longer available. The front desk staff were extremely disrespectful and rude, and said it was my fault that I didn’t know the reservations were “first come first serve” Will never go to this place again.

Salmon n' Bannock: what do users think?
Cecilia Wang: Feeling grateful that I got to dine at an indigenous restaurant in Canada / Turtle Island. I walked in after an appointment nearby and managed to get a table. To be honest I’ve never spent so much money on one meal by myself before, but so worth it. I had the salmon and wild rice, and a bison soup. The cedar jam served with bread was so tasty. The service was stellar.
ER W: The food brought me back to my childhood in Alaska, it was so delicious and I haven't had such wonderful salmon and game since I came to Canada. Thank you! Also, happy birthday, Carl!
Sarah Becker: Super delicious food and the service was very nice, I'll be back when I'm in Vancouver.
Caleb Ellison: Amazing service, great food. Please eat here and support this Indigenous owned and operated business.
Lee Ann Steyns: The best, fresh choice at YVR airport! My bbq salmi sandwich was delicious!
Erez Yalon: Salmon n' Bannock is a small restaurant focusing on ingredients and dishes of the indigenous heritage. You will find different interesting tastes of salmon, bison, game meat, honey, maple, berries, and herbs. The atmosphere is intimate with low lights and candles, and the service is friendly.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Salmon Sampler …More
Nadine Graham: The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very welcoming. There is very beautiful art and the customer service was very friendly. I would definitely return.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Bison Pot Roast …More
Antonio (Techguruji): Truly good for you body and soul!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sockeye Salmon, Salmon and Wild Rice, Burger …More
Pablo Soria: Restaurante regentado por indios nativos candienses. Buena comida y personal agradable
Shan: Came here after lunch at Granville Island Public Market, because we were keen to try someindigenous cuisine during our short stay in Canada. We were not left disappointed and rather wished we had extra room to try more of Salmon n Bannock’s offerings. The bison bone marrow was just exquisite and paired so well with their bannock crackers. They have a rotating game sausage - we had the elk red wine (appetizer portion) which was very tasty as was the sage blueberries it came with. Their traditional bannock was also very good.Popular with the locals, I would also recommend it to visitors with an interest in trying indigenous cuisine within reach of downtown Vancouver.
Kimberly Stephenson: The bison pot-roast, candied salmon & pemmican mouse were worth the appropriately somber (borderline depressing) introduction we received to the cuisine’s culture. This truly feels like a diamond-in-the-rough establishment— tight indoor dining quarters, tucked into a busy street between other shops, etc…. but the first-to-last bites sparkle brilliantly on the palate. The art and music within made for a lovely atmosphere also. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a unique dining experience in Vancouver!
Vanessa Lesperance: If you want an authentic Indigenous cuisine experience dine here! Amazing food. Top notch service. Lovely ambience. A must try in Vancouver.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sockeye Salmon, Burger, Bison Pot Roast, Sweet Potato Wedges …More
Vyan Vu: Had a wonderful time here! The service was very quick and our waitress was amazing. We got the toasted mushroom on bannock for an appetizer, salmon n rice and bison pot roast for mains - all of which were so flavourful paired with the best veggies! For drinks; the blackcherry cider was to die for and the haywire beer was also amazing! I would recommend!!!It was a little busy by 6 (on a tuesday!) so book a reservation if you can
Cat S: What a cute little restaurant with some tasty and unique food options! It is a MUST GO for anyone visiting Vancouver.I recommend the salmon and wild rice & any of the appetizers which were delicious (I had the bannock with mushroom and blueberries and bison gravy—soooo good!). The food was very fresh and the service was great. If its still available, get the haywire beer, so good! Tastes like strawberries.
RudeCanal: Just returned from a fabulous visit to Vancouver. One of the highlights (and there were many!) was eating at First Nation restaurant Salmon & Bannock! Inez, the owner & host personally greeted us and guided us through the menu & drink list. Salmon chowder…. Yummy!! The ambiance, food and drinks were incredible! Visit for a great experience!!!!
Malkhaz Tsotsoriya: Amazing experience! Everything, starting from communication with the restaurant, food, service, staff are absolutely fantastic! Thank you!
Manohar Gunturu: Salmon is fresh but a bit pricy
Chi T: I loved it💕. The restaurant is small and it was quiet until a large party arrived. Then it was quite loud. I was happy that we arrived early so that we could relax, talk and enjoy our meal. The service is extraordinary. You can't help but like the servers. They are so nice. The food is incredible. My friend had the bone marrow with crackers. She said it was a very generous piece which she enjoyed. We both had the salmon burger on a Bannock bun. We ordered the fries as our side. They were hand cut freshly fried sweet potatoes. Yumm. Instead of ketchup, we were given a small container of lemon aoili, which was heavenly. The Bannock is addictive. It is a thick dense bun, and I could eat it all the time. In fact, i amcraving one now. This restaurant is definitely worth trying. Please make sure you make reservations. You will probably need it.
Gary Enns: An AMAZING restaurant!!! Everything is fresh and tasty!!Recommended dishes Sausage Dinner, Bison Pot Roast, Salmon 3 Ways, Game Sausage …More
