Jacky Cheung Kam To: I have a small job on floor tile replacement. Contacted them and they came over for estimates which was a certain amount. Then, I contacted them again saying I want to go ahead with the work and ask for a final estimate. That guy said he will give it to me next day which he never did. Then I contacted him again, he texted me the labour cost which was 500 dollars more than what he told me . I asked perhaps there's a mistake? He never replied .
Vick Lau: Small job changing carpeted rooms to floorboards. Prompt reply with email and phone. Rocked up to find out the guy I had been in contact with is the only one guy does the estimates and that he wasn’t in the store. Apparently it’s by appointment only. Was told to come anytime. Up selling by the lady who was there with nonchalant attitude. No thanks.
Jason Entote: Sometimes, finding a good contractor to do your flooring, especially in today's supply chain constricted world can be a difficult thing. So finding a contractor, that also supplies the product was an amazing discovery.When I first contacted the company, I was introduced to their account manager, Keit, and I have to say that Keit went beyond the scope of her work to ensure that as a customer, everything was laid out in a transparent and clear manner. She replied to all my inquiries in a professional and knowledgeable way.It was also very convenient that BC floors acted as a one stop shop, that had almost every type of flooring you can think of. I found their prices to be very competitive, and for the quality and speed of the work done, you are getting your money's worth.I would certainly recommend BC flooring in the future, and if your lucky enough to get Keit as your account manager, it will make the whole renovation/new build process much more seamless.

Colleen Mooney: My initial impression of AAA flooring was great. I had done plenty of research already so knew what I wanted. However, this was our first flooring project so we needed guidance. Thyago was great as were the other sales people. It wasn't until the installation that the frustration happened. Thyago knew we were on a budget and was helping us find ways to reduce costs. A lot of the costs are floating, but you don't know which ones are unless you know to ask in advance. We only learned once the bill arrived. We had someone come to our place and take measurements. He said we have a lot of furniture- we live in 700 sq. feet, so we definitely do not. However we spent days packing everything into boxes so things could be moved easily. We tucked the boxes away in our storage room, closets and on the deck, so the installers wouldn't have too much moving to do and moving the big furniture would be easier. We were told the job would take 5- 7 days. So we booked a trip to the interior to be out of the way. We were advised that this was a good idea. They warned us over and over again that there would need to be a lot of leveling. Our neighbours all had to do a lot of leveling when they re-did their floors. We had an area where the previous flooring was removed so we could see the thickness of the floor. When selecting the flooring, neither the sales staff nor the person who came to our home advised us on the repercussions of installing flooring of a different thickness. When we were on our trip Thyago called us to let us know he was going to go check on the job and had been informed they were done, after two days and only the floorboards needed installing. We learned that the lower height of the flooring meant huge scars on the wall would need to be repaired. We weren't prepared for that so we paid for new baseboards to cover the scarring. When we got home the kickboards around the island were not attached properly, the baseboards were flush at one end and had huge gaps on the other end. I could fit twonies under the gap. We had an installer come back, he fixed what he could be what was revealed was that the levelling wasn't done. There was also a number of chips out of the flooring and a huge scratch. We had the installer come back again. He repaired the scratch by rubbing some kind of red stain - so now it always looks like someone spilled wine on the floor. He told me they didn't do the levelling because it was too hard to move the furniture. Even though we were charged $750 moving fees. Because of how thin the new flooring is, I can feel where the cement humps up and sinks down. In one area the floor creaks because of this. Almost $10,000 and we now have to live this terrible installation.TLDR: the installers are terrible

Dilek Cansin: After I had a positive experience with Canadian Flooring to change the carpet and install baseboards in my one-bedroom apartment, my significant other and I decided to hire them for a much bigger project at the house we were both going to live in: changing the entire flooring and baseboards, painting, changing most of the lighting, removing a popcorn ceiling, retiling the fireplace, adding a backsplash in the kitchen and changing the toilets and faucets. We were very pleased with the final result.The original quote was fair and clearly broken out, and Mo was very accessible and flexible throughout the entire process as we made a few changes, skillfully coordinating with all the subcontractors, who all worked very hard on the project. They all went above and beyond to complete the project with excellent results. We appreciate the long hours they put in to get it all done before Christmas. Stephanie S: I had an appointment for a consultation and walk thru for a full bathroom renovation for a condo I had just purchased. 10 minutes after my appointment time, no one had showed up. I called the office and the man that was supposed to do the consultation told me he forgot about my appointment. As I do not have possession of my condo, this counted as one of my 2 walk throughs. They wasted mine, my realtor, and the current homeowners time, and have costed me a walk through.
William Hacker: As a designer with a newly acquired condo to renovate, I was looking for someone who could understand drawings, supply high quality materials and oversee their installation in a timely fashion. We went to Canadian Flooring and Renovation (CFR) on the recommendation of a friend. Peyman Jahani reviewed our drawings and, step by step introduced us to the wide range of materials CFR has on hand to execute our objective of inserting new materials into existing bathroom and kitchen. Once we made our selections, Peyman was able to give us a detailed estimate for the replacement of our standard tub with a glass enclosed tile shower and the replacement of our kitchen counter, backsplash and sink with an extended quartz counter top. Peyman supervised the multiple skilled trades, including demolition, plumbing, waterproofing, cabinetry and finished quartz countertop with waterfall and backsplash. We supplied the new range, exhaust fan, refrigerator and microwave. We've now moved into our condo and, thanks to Peyman and CFR, we have a beautifully enhanced bathroom and gorgeous kitchen. We really appreciate their efforts in helping make our dreams come true.

Only very minor con is their product could be a bit better labelled in the store - sometimes was hard to tell if you were looking at laminate vs vinyl plank. Have recommended this location already to several people due to my experience.

He was very knowledgeable, suggested several options and invited us to view the extensive carpet and floor covering selection in their Dollarton Highway showroom.With so many samples, it was a bit overwhelming, but Warren helped us to narrow down what exactly we needed functionally, and which product would be best suited for our needs and budget.Warren was patient and professional and did not use any pressured sales tactics.In preparing for installation, Jan, the store manager was an excellent communicator, efficient, and mindful of our needs. He informed us that two installers would arrive about 10:00 am to remove the old carpet and Dan, the supervisor, would come by a little later to survey the situation after the removal and discuss with Mohammed the best way to prepare the underlying floor for the new carpet. Dan applied the necessary substance to ensure that the floor was levelled.The carpet installation itself was also efficiently performed by Mohammed and his assistant, and the attention to detail was superb. We are extremely pleased with the service of Ethical Flooring and Design.

Patricia Gooch: Ethical Flooring is awesome! After having a flood in my condo, the restoration company had put in the junkiest, cheapest carpet that was shedding fibres and offgassing fumes for months (enough to send VOC air quality warnings to my AQi sensor). I have allergies and asthma, so needed a high quality low pile, low VOC carpet for my bedroom. I started researching for a better product. I learned about Ethical Flooring since they are a distributor for high quality wool carpet and low VOC underpads. Bill took the time to speak with me on the phone, as well as host a Zoom meeting ahead of time to explain the different products to me (before I went across the bridge from Vancouver). Well worth it! My new underpad and carpet is classic and lovely. The installation crew did a fantastic job and also replaced the rotten old flooded tack strips that the other company had left hidden underneath. The Ethical Flooring crew also vacuumed up all of the old drywall dust that the other people left under there too. I'm kind of high maintenance, and cannot say enough good things about Ethical Flooring. I am so glad that I found them. They have very high standards, are professional, and sell high quality products at reasonable prices. I now have peace of mind knowing that there's nothing nasty hiding underfoot and that my bedroom is healthy. Highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I did my research and contacted three companies. Lee called me back right away and had answers to all my questions and offered additional helpful tips as well. His subsequent follow up email helped reassure me that this was the place to go to for expert service. They accommodated my scheduling needs and were communicative throughout the process. Accurate estimate, on time as promised, COVID safety protocols, friendly and professional crew, perfect results, and very little dust (I did have to wash the windows afterwards but floor and walls were spotless). Highly recommended!

Charles Stratford: I appreciate the reply to 'Website stated it was open and doing business yet still upon arrival the place looked completely abandoned with no reply to this day after leaving a voice message asking for a return call.' I am a contractor. I can tell you with absolute certainty it was the right location and that I arrived at 3pm using Google maps on a Monday to the exact address of 1181 Grant Street, Vancouver. The place was shut. Now I do realize that it is by appointment only NOW and the fact still remains that I did leave a message on the company voice while sitting at your business door but still, optics are optics. In any case I ended up finding 4500 sqf of 3/4 hardwood someplace else. I do appreciate your reply to my original post

I disagree with Devon’s skill, as I expect you might, if you had cared to review the install and the refinishing. 2 ½ years later, after living with the mess 24/7 I was more familiar than you obviously can imagine. Several folks remarked on it, including Banner Carpets, who also install hardwood. “As bad a job as could be done’, was their assessment.I had the installation repair done this past September. BC Hardwood redid the installation work with the same material I had stored and supplied to you.When I first asked Devon back to look at his work, his response was, “I am only a contractor”. Lee suggested the gaps were due to the fact the the floor was refinished in July and it was now December, with reduced humidity level. The original floor installed in 1998 never gapped.It seems your employees/contractors have fully adopted your lack of personal and professional responsibility. Company culture is a tangible thing and it only comes top down.PriscillaI had a very poor experience with the quality of work done by technician, Devon, and the owner of Restoration Hardwood, Lee, when I asked Lee to have Devon's substandard work remedied.Devon did no filling when he refinished my maple floor, leaving visible gaps everywhere. Devon was even more inept at installing a small portion of maple hardwood where we had moved a wall as part of a renovation.I paid my bill in FULL but Lee took NO personal responsibility for any of the issues, so I paid BC Hardwood to redo the work. Call BC Hardwood first - I surely wish I had.

The team were experienced and courteous while working at our home.One unpredicted change occurred when the replacement wood needed was white oak not red oak as originally thought, but the team absorbed the cost and stayed true to their quote. This meant an extra days work but a better finished product.We appreciated their honesty and diligence.

Geoff Johnson: Buyer beware if you purchase a clearance product from here. I was sold "premium" flooring on clearance with no mention of any manufacturing defects and in the end there were so many it wasn't possible for none of them to end up in visible space once installed. The only way I would have known this would have been to open all boxes and inspect every board, which I doubt they would have even let me do. So yeah, I wouldn't trust them again.Update:I didn't write my review to get a "response from the owner", I'd already emailed the salesperson that I dealt with and was ignored, but their response to my review said that they wanted to get in touch to look into it further. After a week that still hasn't happened, and I even sent them an email to let them know how to best contact me. Google doesn't let you give a review of zero stars, but that's my updated rating, zero stars, even if Google won't let me. Having someone say they're going to do something and not follow through definitely does not make me want to trust them again.
Devon: Burritt Bros. installed wall-to-wall wool carpet in my condo 8 years ago and everything was wonderful until an poorly executed carpet cleaning resulted in the seams in the carpet separating. Though it was not Burritt Bros. fault, the company went out of their way to evaluate the problem, attempt repairs and provide advice and a referral for future cleaning.
