BC SPCA Vancouver Community Animal Centre: what do users think?
P P: My dog had more time, the vet Dr. Jackie McDowell and her assistant Carrie Bruelet stole my good bye away. There is a special place in hell, for evil people that push you into killing an innocent animal. The irony is they save dogs that had my dogs condition, give them meds and special diet. These options were not given to me. They set me up in a kill room trap and withheld my leash and harness, forced me into euthanasia knowing that I was in acute shock. I would never recommend this agency to anyone. If you love your animal, avoid all SPCAs other than adopting. 2 years later and I still live with the arguing that this vet did before my dog died. The assistant set me up with holding my leash and harness. What they did was illegal and against the law. Be warned.
Don Andrews: Best place around to take your furry friends for the best treatment. We've been going for close to 15 years and have developed a great relationship with everyone working at the Vanciuver branch. Thanks for always being a voice for our pets
A D: Vancouver staff is amazing!!!
Scott Musgrave: Doing gods work 😺
BRYAN FARRELL: We adopted a Tuxedo cat named Whiskey, who was taken to the shelter as a kitten. Hats off to all the volunteers and donors who make this possible. We are very happy with Whiskey and the care and love he received along his journey from the Peace region to Vancouver. Donate to the BC SPCA whenever or whatever you can. 👍👍
Ira Maslenikava: A wonderful experience as always! I've brought my pets to the hospital here previously and have nothing but positive things to say! Last week, my partner and I adopted a little guy! People working there know everything about the animals and really care. The adoption process was quick and easy, but fairly thorough to make sure the animal matched well with the future owner. Our new pet, Gus is adorable and we love him! Thank u staff & volunteers :)
jerry st jacques: Was happy they helped in time of need. Thank you
Eric C: This is the third BC SPCA I went to this weekend that is closed during regular adoption hours I see on the website. There's no updates on Google or twitter or website that says they will be closed or closed early.
Scott Galbraith: Amazing place!
Jeff MacDonald: Amazing
Stephanie willow: Wonderful caring staff. Organized and clean location.
Clarence Martens: Knowledgeable, caring helpful staff
Ache Brasil: Today is Nov 4th. Covid restrictions has been lifted everywhere, except here!!! I was told I had to leave my cat inside for examination while waiting in my car (not allowed inside). While waiting, the battery of my car died and I'm here freezing. This is beyond ridiculous!! No one is doing this anymore. We could be inside wearing a mask if that helps. On a positive note, the doctors here are very caring and very good to our animals.
Bruce Jim: Good customer service n
Karen Bast: I went there with my friend who was having his 2 new kitties fixed. They register people outside and then take the pets inside. I was very happy with the way they handled everything.
V B: I use their services alot.
Dominik Plempe: Went to the hospital to pay for my cat's cremation. Now, I await her ashes. Service was friendly enough and they were kind enough to hold my cat's body for longer then usual because me being on government disability, I had to pay in increments. I appreciate that, thank you.I wanted to look at the shelter dogs but they wouldn't let the public in that day due to a large seizure they were getting organised.
jaq martial: They are doing great things .
Jay Hensman: They are doing a great service 👍👍
Walter-KEMBLE WellBredNfed: Staff and volunteers are dedicated to the physical and mental well being of the animals.Creatures are no longer "put down" (killed) after a certain amount of time boarding at the SPCA.Happily, when one of our fellow beasts falls under their care for whatever reason, they are placed in foster homes appropriate to the requirements of the animal. The NEED for any donation You can give of pet food or money cannot be overstated. I hope anyone reading this will not be shy in reaching out to the SPCA in that regard. XoXo ❤️😻

VOKRA - Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue: what do users think?
Emma Turgut: Amazing place, to volunteer or to adopt (or foster), just an amazing organization in general.
Soccer 2019: Very unprofessional. Communication between the coordinator and foster homes was extremely poor. We were approved for adoption , attended viewings then were sent a cryptic message that they would not be able to proceed with adopting to us. We requested a phone call to see if there was a misunderstanding & discuss why. Our last adopter called me the wrong name so I think they had us confused with someone else, but did not even get the courtesy of a callback to discuss. We have been long time pet owners and would have provided an amazing forever home for two kittens - we still will, just not from Vokra. Be careful before wasting hours of your time with the interview and viewing process.
Sheila Gelinas: Amazing volunteers who are so helpful and provide every resource one needs. They go above and beyond the scope of volunteers. So glad we went through VOKRA!!
collin rasmussen: Very seriously adopting cats and kittens. They do the hard work other rescue orgs don’t bother with. Everyone ends up happy if you follow their instructions
Lucy Animator: I adopted my cat there. Vokra is amazing regarding the cat's wellness. When I adopted, I got training, useful instructions and I learned a lot of things I had no idea about cats, even when I already had cats in the past. They are open to volunteers and receiving donations, so please support them whenever you have the chance.
Mindy Gratwicke: It was a great experience, and they were very detailed in how to, and what to do with our adopted kitten Tigger. I learned a lot.
Tatiana Casas: The place was nice, it was clean but smelled bad but it was a car place so I guess that's a given.
Grace Olson: This is an amazing organization that does so much for cats. I have fostered with them multiple times and highly recommend volunteering for them.
Kim Thomson: We've adopted two cats through VOKRA and both times have been great experiences.
Glenn Truax: Top to bottom experience was amazing. All the volunteers were always helpful. I will absolutely recommend to anyone adopting cats.
J H: used to be trustworthy but the turnover in volunteers means no one knows much. still I love the old 16 year old boy I adopted to be with my 17 yr old. love them! Grateful that he was fostered until I met him
Karen Ingram: Wonderful people taking care of the most vulnerable cats in our city. They Rock!
Adrian Carotenuto: Well, been on a list for over year. ;(
keely wood: The lovely people at VOKRA reunited me with my cat who had gone missing for 3 months during the severe winter storm. When they called me, I had a good ugly cry with relief that my fluffball was found. They medically treated him before releasing him to family, for that I am forever grateful. He was tattooed and microchipped, which I can't stress enough is so important to reuniting your pet. Check out their website to see the good work that they do for the feline friends in our city and keep them in mind when you want to donate to a good cause. I had a happy outcome because of this wonderful organization!
Marc Petrunia: If you're going to adopt a kitty companion, this is by far the place to do it! I adopted my two grey brothers from them and it was a wonderful experience all the way around!
Kevin Stewart: All volunteer, no kill rescue and sanctuary. They're the best
Kathy denton: The best place to adopt from. They do a great job of matching a cat to the person.
Erica Mattson: I adopted my two little girls from VOKRA. They are very conscientious about making sure the cats are going to good homes. I have been recommending them to people I know who are looking for a cat.
Walter-KEMBLE WellBredNfed: They sound like the.Guardian Angels for cats. Nicely designed website. That's as far as I've gone with them. XoXo
Shotel D: They are very awesome at their job! And the niceness of every individual that is there is unmatched.
Leeann McKenzie: Donated in honour of Betty White to this wonderful organization.

City of Vancouver Animal Services: what do users think?
Hunter Ex (human_in_a_box): Not useful in the least at helping find a solution to the issue of trapped raccoons on site.
Hélène Dez: I found a dog roaming in the streets, no collar, nothing to ID him. I brought him to the shelter after calling 311. The women I met there were very kind with the poor lad, who was super scared, and to me who was doing this for the first time.I called a few hours later to check if they found his family and once again they were very nice. 👌
Dan: I've adopted rats here a few times and they're always really sweet, both the rats and the staff.
Brian Irwin: These are very nice people. I reported our cat lost, and expected to never hear from them again. While sadly we have not found our cat, they followed up with us a week later, to see if we'd had any luck, with a charming email that showed concern.
J Y: I just went to donate things. Very appreciative and happy to receive donations.
Martina Perry: Although my financial constraints and job made it difficult to pick up my poor puppy from the Vancouver Animal Services earlier this month, I must acknowledge a certain staff member: Sarah Engleson (Office Support Clerk III) at the Vancouver Development, Buildings and Licensing office at Raymur Ave. was incredibly compassionate, kind and patient with me (even after I had a major freak out on her, including yelling and swearing - my bad).Sarah kept it 100 percent professional, was still polite and understanding despite my awful treatment of her during our initial meeting. She even paid for two nights of fees for my poor dog out of her own pocket. If you witnessed how truly awful I was during the first interaction, you'd understand how much of a saint this woman truly is. LOL.GIVE THIS WOMAN A RAISE!!Plus, she spoiled my little baby while he was locked away, which I truly appreciated. Sarah Engleson is a GOLDEN GOD!
Alan Mars: The staff are very nice and really care about the animals.
Kyle Spencer Reakes (Ky): good service horrible policy's
David Waterhouse: Awesome Place! Good People 😀
Williàm White: The price they charge for the adoption fee is way too high, for animal lovers,on a fixed income. I actually rate this -0 stars!! All they are interested in is your money. Extremely GREEDY and UNCARING!! More people would be willing to adopt if the Fees weren't ridiculously expensive !! 👎👎👏
Idrewthetable4you: Good
Nikunj Patel: Good Services ! Staff is helpful in many way !
Danielle Hamilton: Helpful and kind. Thank-you for helping us choose our rats and thank-you for everything you guys do. Highly recommended.
Prettech Canada: Try to stay away from this place. It's not a warm place.
divina rosaria byers: Couple of months ago and my dog Junior we're missing look for him for two days and they found them for me they looked after him and they were very friendly and I'm so happy that my dog is safe and back with me
denny bilac: Nice staff and was clean.
Brooke Chandler: They were great to Houdini. My daughter thought an employee reminded her of the little mermaid, red hair and loves animals. She was very helpful and patient. Making the stressful time easier.
Ken Gardner: I was impressed by this shelter. It is obviously very well-managed. The facility is clean, spacious, and orderly. Various people went out of their way to help my dog and myself. When my dog was brought to me, he was calm and happy. Situations that bring pets to shelters can be very stressful to the pets and their owners. I really appreciated all of the professional and empathetic attention of the staff.
van Nghia Phan: Good Service
Catherine Mellon: We had such a good experience here. Professional, kind and caring staff at every level.

BCSPCA Animal Shelter: what do users think?
Niloofar Mozafari: Helpful staff.Got lots of information and services while adopting my pupper.I appreciate SPCA work.
Kaley Parchoc: I cannot express enough appreciation for the generosity, kindness and love SPCA staff show to animals. It is an amazing organization. We are so grateful of the staff at the SPCA West Van branch as they helped us through the adoption process of our beautiful 2 year old Retriever. The staff was so kind, friendly and accommodating to our circumstances. After a long time searching, we have finally found the perfect addition to our family. Thank you for the great work you do!
A D: Wonderful place to adopt!!
Jessica Mesa: Very nice place to carry cats and dogs
Alexis Howe: Amazing location with lovely staff. Easily accessible by transit as well!
Taylor: We had a wonderful adoption experience at the spca in west Vancouver. The staff were knowledgeable, kind and supportive. Highly recommend!
icecream puddin: Fostering and hopefully adopting my first cat here. Staff was friendly and answered all my questions.
Dianne Volek: WestVan SPCA are absolutely amazing. Each animal comes in scared and lost, and they are quickly assessed and given medical care. They don't just get food and shelter, but also therapy so they fit in more easily in their forever homes. The staff and volunteers put such a lot of time and effort into assessing each animal's strengths, weaknesses and needs, and finding just the right home. I'm sure some people get impatient that they can't just "buy" a pet, or come in an play with the rescues, but the continual training that every volunteer gets ensures that animals don't get put under extra stress.
Tazo: Just a fantastic cafe in an awesome location to hang out with family and friends especially your elderly parents as it's only a few steps away from the available street parkings. The staff are nice but they could be more friendly especially with peoples of other cultures! All in all, the Boatshed deserves at the very least 4 full stars!
Josephine Roper: I filled out the long application and was told they never received it. I wanted a dog and was told to fill out the long application again it was like I was ai
Mac - PC Tech Total Solution: Good communication - Fast respond
Ben Szum: They euthanized a 10 month old Collie just minutes after it's adoption papers were signed, because he tugged on his new owners jeans, and was deemed a threat to safety (skin was not broken). The owners didn't want him put down, but the SPCA did it anyways. On top of all that, they lied, claiming animal behaviourist Rebecca Ledger supported the decision to euthanize, but she didn't.puppies nip. He was not a "public safety hazard", HE👏WAS👏JUST👏A 👏PUPPY👏. Nipping is normal puppy behaviour that can easily be corrected. Please don't reply to this. There is nothing you can possibly tell me that can justify what you've done. As of this writing, I am no longer supporting any SPCA organizations. You've become the very thing you're supposed to be fighting 👎
Rene and Melinda de Jong: Kudos to Sarah Henderson. Sarah is very thorough. She makes sure the pet finds a loving home, the way it should be. We are very grateful for her help in finding the right match for our family. Sarah, thank you very much for all that you do to help the animals in need. We need more people like you.
A. S.: They met with us in a timely manner and helped us with our inquiries. The staff were polite and helpful.
Mona Sabzevari: We adopted a rabbit from this branch and everything went smoothly and efficiently. We communicated the most with Brynne and she was friendly, helpful, and supportive! The new bun and our other bunny have happily bonded and we are so glad to be able to provide a loving home for this little guy. He was found wandering on the streets before the SPCA rescued him. Now he is safe and loved by us :)
tapatiaplus1: Estaba cerrado. Desgraciadamente no pudimos ver a ningún perro. Parece ser que no tenían en ese momento. Fueron Muy amables al explicarnos la situación. Espero que muy pronto podamos adoptar un perrito.
Eman 120212: When I Get A Pet When I Grow Up At My Home In California Is A Dalmatian Puppy For My Pet🐶🐾🖤💟
jackie paul: Lovely
Chelsea Smith: Was trying to adopt a kitten from a friend of mine that was fostering. I'm not sure if it was a disconnect between her and I or she just got conflicting information from Squamish and West Van branches, but was then told I couldn't adopt directly from my friend and had to go through West Van SPCA and fill out an application. okay. So I fill out the application online and their form is terrible. Hit submit about 18 times and it never tells you whether it actually submitted. Apparently it didn't all 18 times because we didn't have the adoption ID # (wasn't given that) and it doesn't TELL YOU that is mandatory information. So after not hearing anything back for a week we finally get someone on the phone just to say they never got our application (fix your submission form!) and that it's unlikely we would be able to adopt one of the kittens. Great! So glad I donate to this stellar organization. I probably won't be again.EDIT: the problem with the form is that because I didn't have the adoption ID (the kittens weren't listed on the site, I just knew about them because my friend was fostering them), I just put "N/A" in that field. However when you hit submit, it just takes you back up to the top of the form. Apparently it doesn't actually submit it, but it also does not highlight that field as being incorrect or invalid. As I said: FIX YOUR FORM! If a field is invalid or something, you should inform the user of that clearly. And there should be a way to submit an application without an adoption ID #. What if someone just wants a cat and not a particular cat?
K Man: Staff are exceptional! Positive, professional and very caring for both animals and adopters. Communication is clear and open. Great support and no pressure.
Craig Lien: Great staff. We adopted a kitten that is so loving, it definitely was very well cared for.

BC SPCA Burnaby Community Animal Centre: what do users think?
Don: They do not care about reuniting pets with there owners. All they care about is draining your bank account and if you can not pay. They make over $400 selling your pet
The One: Tried to call in to ask for a lady I dealt with but couldn't remember the staffs name and the staff that answered the phone was very rude. Shouldn't be working at a SPCA with attitude not helpong people
marksfc13: Great people who do a tough job.
Paula Ramor: Spoke with Carolina at the front desk. She was such a pleasure to chat with. As wanna be first-time dog owners, we were looking for some advice, and she had lots of it. Carolina, you are amazing. Thank you for all of the information. You have given us a lot of tools to work and search with. We are looking forward to finding a new family member, with a bit more confidence in our plan.
Patricia Holmes: Only one poor little cat. Sad she was all alone. So thankful however for the SPCA! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
Meggie Javid: I LOVE The Dogs
Tenmei: Great staff. They helped me with providing temporary emergency shelter for my two cats. When we picked our cats up, they gave us an update on how our cats adapted or did not adapt to the environment. We are very thankful for them for taking care of our very precious cats.
Ben Murray: Amazing people in a great place. Working like crazy, and always friendly and helpful.
ahmed Salem: We got a beautiful puppy to my friends son and I love the people who works there they were very helpful and professional
Marcela Villaça: A very unhelpful staff member answered the phone when I called this morning. I had a stressful exchange with an aggressive dog owner after off leash his dog charged at me and my puppy in training. He yelled at me, calling me names and making threats after I said his dog should be on leash. It was really upsetting. The SPCA staff member offered no reassurance or support once I shared about what happened but said I didn't have their address. In fact, they were dismissive and condescending. I hope there can be better support for people who call the SPCA in distress.
joud asfour: the receptionist was very rude , when we went in she was on the phone and didnt even acknowledge us at all . and when she was done she was like “ were closed” for people who actively are interested in adopting and are excited dont come here . ot takes the excitement out
Sean Chysyk: I recently had dealings with Agent Kellogg of the Bby SPCA. I really appreciated his approach to the situation. He was observant, thorough and respectful. Thank you Agent Kellogg.
Alex Hannig: Great place to adopt a new pet
Alex Gedala: Extremely friendly and kind staff. First time at this branch and the experience was very pleasant.
David P Smith: Very friendly and punctual staff helped George the cat to find a new home after a trip to the vet Dr.and students at Douglas College.
Rod Smith: Got mail from SPCA today asking for a donation ! Terrible.. we had to surrender our cat a few months ago... She was very sick...
D B: Fantastic staff. Forever grateful!
Tomson Hu: Big help
Charlie Bailey: Unfortunate experience when trying to do a third party surrender. Ends up I was incorrect to assume I’d found an escaped indoor cat, but the reception workers were very condescending. They also openly trash-talked a customer on hold in front of us. Overall got the job done, but handled things very unprofessionally.
Arif Bhaloo: We just went to this place to see the adoptable animals. At first the door is locked and they ask you to phone. We phoned the number on the door and there was no answer it went to a recording. I looked inside and saw a girl sitting inside so I knocked on the door she said to phone. So I phoned again this time she answered. She said we could not come in without an appointment and that we have to check out the available animals online. Which we did last night but we could not access or see any of these animals that she talked about. We wanted to see the animals 5 and possibly adopt immediately. We would have followed the protocol but they showed zero pets hence our walk-in attempt. Then we called again to ask her to check the website and she did not answer it went to the recording again. Really not happy with this experience find it hard to believe that they would make it so difficult for people wanting to adopt an animal. We have been looking at a dopping very seriously for quite a while. Not sure what steps to take now. Because when we called the other SPCA locations it was another long recording and could not contact a live person to speak with. Their website doesn't show any pets.
Ramasubramani Muthanapillai: Kind people

RAPS Cat Sanctuary: what do users think?
Megan Berry: I'm so glad that the sanctuary has reopened for public visitors, it is such a cool place! I have such admiration for everyone who makes the place so special; it is clearly a labour of love and it warms my heart to see all of these cats well taken care of. Really magical place for anyone who has any affinity for cats or the animal welfare in general
L Jeon: I've been bitten by several cats seven times, and somehow my whole body tickles. But I will visit again.
zhoujue wang: if u r a cat lover, never miss this place
Ai R: Coming here was a life-changing experience. My mental illness was cured.
Andrew Burant: Heaven on earth for cats and cat lovers alike.Stop by and donate to help out these beautiful cats, or sign up to volunteer!
Rachelle Crites: Lovvvvvvvvvvvve this place!!!!!!!! Love what they do. Love the cats.
: J: A magical place filled with cats! The atmosphere of this place is calming and relaxing, perfect for a study break. My only regret is coming 1h before closing since it is barely enough time to interact with all of them. As of this week they are closed for the season until next year
Ocean Gray: So many cats! Each with their own story and personality. Friendly staff as well.
Jennifer Oehler: An amazing place for cats who might otherwise not find homes. There are endless places to lounge, nap, scratch and explore. The cats are well taken care of by volunteers.
Ashley Patrick: This place is amazing! They are doing great work and proving a much needed service for these cats. Cat sanctuary’s are few and far between and I feel so grateful I got a chance to visit this one. All the the volunteers and staff I encountered were all so kind and you can really tell they care about animal welfare.
Justin Saint: The best place in Vancouver for cats and the people who love them!
Howard Lung: They are doing important, loving work. There is an adoption "centre," a trailer at the site entrance. Otherwise, look on PetFinder for cats ready for adoption.
Tia Dawson: This was so much fun. I highly recommend people visit and support this cat sanctuary. The cats are very well cared for. I recommend going early, when they open, at one. You pay for one hour of visiting. We arrived late, but it wasn't that busy so we could start for as long as we wanted. The people who volunteer there are very knowledgeable about each of the cats. Avoid engaging too closely with the cats with collars.
Tea (Tea): Where have you been my entire life? Having only recently learned about this cat sanctuary, I was super excited planning my first visit. I was not disappointed. The cats were adorable, fluffy and deserving of all the pets! You could spend hours just playing with these cuties.Like another reviewer said, it's recommended to go for the first time slot of the day because that's when the cats will be most active and loving. If you choose a later slot, the cats will be all tuckered out and lazy, especially during the summer months (still cute though!)The staff/volunteers were also super friendly and excited to talk about the cats they loved. There are areas that need special attention, like needing to sanitize frequently or staff-only zones, please respect those rules. The price is also a little expensive ($12) for the allotted time (1HR, but if it isn't crowded they will let you stay the full 4 hours) but it's good to think of the price as part of a donation to keep this lovely facility running :)
MANN Niyati: You and they both need healing, you both need love affection and that warm touch. Cat is not a very friendly animal so don’t expect that they are gonna cuddle with you like a puppy or a dog but yes they need equal love attention and that affectionate warm touch. But don’t dare to invade their comfort 😋So I am starting here from Cats right it’s a cat sanctuary. If you really love cats then you sure gonna love it there. So many cats there sone need your attention sone just giving you cold shoulder yup this is the personality of the cats.So I suggest you to sanitize your hands before going inside. When you enter in there the first cell is having those cats who love to play with you and maybe a one or two may like to sit in your lap but it’s not a sure. There are toys to keep them busy. Brushes to groom them and at entrance you can pic a treat for them to feed or to attract 🤔So there are many cells for cats and when you’re entering and leaving a cell then every time you need to sanitize your hands close the cell every time.In different cells are different personality some doesn’t not like you to touch them do just try to play with them with toy or just click a memory.Or just simply with them and observe them it’s fun doing that. Some cats are not very healthy and are in completely different cell so be very gentle with them. Now come to volunteers:Every volunteer is doing great there they are knowledgeable they love to give you tour and some are so experts reading you that they know what you’re looking for and they just help you with that without even asking from them. They all are very gentle with cats and taking care of them like their parents.Parking: there’s parking place for almost 14 cars in just front of sanctuary but a 150 meters away you can park many cars.Toilet: they have one neat and clean toilet adjoining with the first cell.Cleanliness: it’s very clean and nice but so many cats are there so hopefully you are not expecting no hair there, are you. So yes it’s clean in it’s own way.Smell: it’s a cat sanctuary!! Got it?I am attaching few Photos here so you may fall in love with these lovely faces.
grace lim: It was such an amazing heart felt experience to visit the adorable cats, the volunteers really care and are knowledge of all the cats that are there
Pebblesong: I used to come here a lot but I realized that they've added a cost to visiting this place which is so stupid. 12$ for a single visit is a waste of money.
Keldire: The most amazing cat sanctuary I have ever seen. I wanted to take them all home but my wife wouldn't allow it 😉
Anythingispossible: Beautiful and full of happy cats!
Andrew Rochfort: An amazing sanctuary run by very caring and compassionate people.
Zaro: I like cats. I like cats a lot. This place has a lot of cats, which is pretty cool. Cats are not the most friendly animals so don't expect to be cuddling with all of them, but there is still a decent amount of friendly personalities you can pet and hang out with. There is kind of a lack of direction within the sanctuary, so we spent most of our time wandering around trying to figure out where to go, but it was still pretty fun regardless. Overall, probably wouldn't come here again for a while (especially for $12), but I am glad to have had the experience (because I like cats)

dj btoxic: They pleasantly took receipt of our Ronin's (who passed over the rainbow Bridge recently) stuff.I'm happy his toys and trees will be used for their cats. I was worried I couldn't find a place for his old things. We had a chance to visit with the cats that were up for adoption, and they were really well taken care of. Happy and clean.I hope to help out this organization more in the future. I'm glad they are around.

Maya Gal: Shame on them. I won't even go into the story, but they lied, interrogated, and manipulated me and my vet after a very difficult and sensitive time for us. We felt horrible for the cats there, they clearly don't get enough attention as they all jump and cry as soon as we walked it. The person working there told us most applications are rejected, and though spca is fortunately very low on cats, raps has wayyyy too many. Now we now why. If you can endure them and bless an animal, bless your soul. Don't expect to be treated with respect or care though.
Myra El Masraya: It's a very clean and well organized place. The cats are well cared for in every way. Medical staff are always on sight taking care of those cats who need medical attention. Many other staff are there working hard to take care of the cats and to keep the place clean. Many volunteers attend on a daily basis to feed the cats, clean the litter boxes, and to wash their blankets and dishes. Kitty comforter like myself and my husband like to go and brush the cats, welcome the new comers of stray cats, visit the sick cats, and help shy cats to gain self confidence. It's a big team of paid and unpaid people who loves being with cats. Not to mention the volunteers who takes care of the gardening, bushes, and flowers around there. If you haven't seen it yet, you need to check it out one day on the weekend when they are open.
Joanne Julia: This is a really good place to get education when you are thinking about adopting, a new pet, i.e., a dog, cat, rabbit,. They provide a lot of knowledge for you before you even get your pet. It’s a great learning experience.
Henri Ng: It's a solid place to come and check out and chill with cats. PSA: YOU GOTTA BUY A TICKET(S) FOR THE TIME SLOT VISIT. IT'S NOT A DROP-IN PLACE.
Markus Charles: Really would love to go there just for therapy!
Shannon: This place is heaven on earth! LolIf you're a cat lover, you must go visit these lovely felines. The volunteers are super friendly, really knowledgeable and welcoming! I am hooked and fell in love with this baby Dodger, one of the indoor cats, and I will definitely be back for more snuggles!
Kirk James: After doing a fair amount of research, my wife and I decided to have our dog's dental work done at RAPS.The amazing team at RAPS took such good care of Dany that we are switching all vet needs for both our pets, despite it being an hour drive round-trip for us.RAPS is a non-profit with a heartwarming and inspiring history (check out their Wikipedia). The level of care provided is absolutely amazing (search Reddit for many confirmations).RAPS is also more affordable than most other animal hospitals (other than some shady ones that should be avoided).I honestly can't recommend them enough... wish there was a 6th star!Thank you RAPS Team, you truly are heroes. 3
Ronnie Kelly: The Drs are good with the animals they get 4 stars. Staff is not so good with humans they get 2.5 stars.
Ramona Folau: Excellent care.
Carley Colclough: RAPS literally saves lives. When Coco was found in distress by Nanaimo Animal Control on Vancouver Island, she needed significant surgery to repair her jaws, which could not be done on the island. RAPS stepped up and provided her surgery pro bono. Coco's case required coordination between several agencies who teamed up to rescue her, and RAPS could not have been more caring, generous, and willing to help. Please support this amazing agency.
TC: We intro ourselves and then were able to visit the animal a month ago...something told us to take a picture of all 15plus pets that were on the list where our fav pet was located on and a month later they still did not give us the decision if our pet will be adopted to us and the 13 animals on the list we photographed are still there today...problem is we donate too much money to them and they are in no rush to unleash the animals from the cage and the most agonizing of this experience is to hear all the cries of the animals that are still trapped in those cages...time to go to SPCA where we got our pet 2 days after the visit and when we went back to give a gift to the folks working there ..almost all the pets were already adopted
Freedom “Freedom IN Strength” IN STRENGTH: Horrible and rude service. Disgusting people with ZERO compassion
Mandy Lichtmann: Loving and amazing care at this NO-KILL Shelter for pets awaiting their forever home. The staff really knows the personalities of all the adoptable animals to ensure they are placed in the best fitting home.
Mysti Kong: Great, super helpful people. Very invested in the health of their animals, supports staff and volunteers' safety. My favourite no/low-kill rescue.
MAX JD: I looked online to see if raps was open. It said it was open so I went there, when I got there the gate was closed. The sign on the gate said "closed to the public". I think they should update their website to "temporarily closed" to prevent confusion in the future. We went there today to see what's up to adopt. nice place with friendly staff.
Dorando: They very kind, helpful and professional.
Grace Olson: Great staff, a fun spot to visit
Steve Cameron: I do not recommend RAPS for people looking to adopt a pet. The process is, in a word, ridiculous. In 2020 you should not have to wait 7 days to hear back on whether you have been 'selected' by the judges at RAPS. If you are thinking of donating money to this cause, look elsewhere. In my opinion the only "Protecting" going on at RAPS is protecting perfect candidates from adopting the animals they select.

Coquitlam Animal Shelter: what do users think?
nora morsink: Don't adopt from this shelter, they don't do adequate health checks on their animals, our cat has a massive congenital heart defect they should have caught before adopting him out. Now they refuse to help us because we didn't notify them of it sooner (we only found out a few weeks ago and contacted them as soon as we knew what he had) the only thing they said they were willing to do was take him back from us, but we love him and would rather come up with the money for his treatment ourselves. Go to a facility that does proper health exams on their animals, save yourself heartbreak and a few grand.
Екатерина Смирнова: Good place ❤️
Sea Lion: Can visit the cats to play, seems like they are all taken care of well.
Courtney Catterall: Great helpful staff!
Teresa M.: Extremely satisfied with the assistance Coquitlam Animal Shelter gave us in adopting our dog. Shelter staff were very helpful, friendly and prompt. They spent time introducing us to our dog and have given us great tips. The process was very quick and painless. So thankful for this experience.
Wayne O'Neill: These people go above and beyond!
Becky P: Good sized area for cats. Nice patio space for them to hang out.
Philip Budina: Great city run boarding service
Jimit Modi: They are kind and helpful.
med med: Great welfare for the animals, the staff are amazing and incredibly helpful with animal selection.
Guadalupe Forcier: As good as an animal shelter can be. This little kitty is sad but at least they put them in a separate area so they can be grumpy by themselves
小朋友.: I had been there so many times for cats petting. Lovely cats room within soda and outdoor area.Very friendly staff
Jae F: This facility is clearly well taken care of. The areas/rooms the cats/kittens are kept in are very clean and roomy, and the staff have been so welcoming when we have come to visit. Their application process is straightforward, and the questions asked are very thoughtful. The staff here truly take the time and consideration to match the animals with the most suitable people/home, and ensure you are fully informed/updated if you are an applicant. Although I was not selected for the pair of kittens I was hoping to adopt, the shelter phoned me when they were reviewing my application, confirmed my preferred adoption choice once more, and made it clear that time would be taken to choose the right owner. They reached out once more once my choice had been adopted. I truly appreciate the time they took to acknowledge and respond to my application. I highly recommend anyone to come here to adopt.
Debra Sommerfeld: Amazing ❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾September 17 2022Basement fire, I phoned animal shelter, told I'm pretty sure kitty is alive & in the suite, they reacted so fast that yes Kitty was Alive woo hoo ❤️🙏🐾Beautiful People & CareingThank you Sara ❤️Thank you Barb❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🐾🐾 Hugs 🐾 Purrs
Debby: Friendly staff. My bird was found amd dropped off at this location. I paid a fee and they provided a small breathable box to carry my bird home in. I appreciate them caring for my bird until I could get there and the provisions.
Ariana Chaparro: They had the dogs I was dog sitting. Even though they open at 10 they called me earlier to let me know they had them and what I needed to pick them up. On a holiday! Really nice personnel and took good care of the dogs. Make sure your pets are registered you can save big fees in case they get lost and you have to pick them up. You still get charged a fee but is not as bad.
John Lee: Friendly staff, takes really good care of your pets.need to book in advance as spots are limited during vacation periods..
Crew West: So grateful to staff who accepted our 16 yr old daschund that passed away on Jun 30 before the long weekend. Wonderful caring service. Thank you.
Lauren St John: Kind and compassionate service as we delivered one of our daschunds who passed away in his human's arms earlier that day. Such a traumatic time made much easier with the caring help of the two ladies behind the desk. So grateful that they provide cremation service thru Until We Meet Again and will even come to your home to collect the deceased. Thank you for making an awful day a little better for us. RIP Kurtis, 16 yrs and 6 months. 🙏
Jack Rynda: Lovely folks there. Got 2 female rats for my newly rescued girl and they are just darlings. Everyone was really really lovely to talk to, especially Barb. 😁 y'all make our week! Thank you again!
Mansun Lui: Friendly staffs and helpful!

BC SPCA Richmond Education & Adoption Centre: what do users think?
Jack Zhang: Nice facilities, friendly and helpful staff. It was an easy and smooth adoption process. A bit tricky to locate as the building is not by the road. Look for the sign and drive into the long driveway to get to the building and parking lot.
Kainer Y: I recently had a duck with a couple of ducklings stumble and get trapped in my apartment patio's narrow crevice and I thought it'd be unsafe to get them out. Gave a call to SPCA and they were here in 30 minutes and retrieved them safely in just 5 min. Good job! The man was calm and collected, as he did his job
kiran k: Adopted a male cat, and having wonderful experience with him.
luice liang: 工作人员只顾聊天对外访人员服务不佳.而且冷漠.不耐心.动物种类不多.
Joe Tillman: I wanted to extend a sincere thank you to Emma and the staff at this particular SPCA. I'll be honest, I was always kind of put off by the stories I'd hear about how difficult it is to adopt. They're not true. I have a renewed faith in people because of my experience. They were super helpful and they did everything they could to (successfully) help us adopt our little girl Mascha (dog). They answered our questions, kept us updated on issues relating to her, and encouraged us to contact them if we had new questions or concerns about our girl. Really, this is a great place doing great work. Thank you, to everyone, at Richmond SPCA.
karen Harris: They gave out free pet food for me and my friends. Awesome service so kind and welcoming. Thanks ladies.
Nicole H: I had an amazing experience at the SPCA Richmond. I went in one day with the hopes of being able to adopt a cat and by the next day I could take her home to foster to adopt. After her spay, she was mine. I got 50% off her adoption fees (promotion they had going on), a sample of food and a few toys.My kitty was a shy girl who wasn’t eating much at the shelter but within 2 days she was warmed up to me, eating and is beyond happy at my home. She’s gained some weight and loves her wet food with gravy and Churu treats.I’d recommend this location 100%, a lot of these animals really need a loving home and you can tell the difference in how they act when they feel safe and stress free.
J CYC: The staff was amazing and helpful!
Garrison Stewart: Brand new building, very nice. Friendly staff. We went to visit the cats, but they are not available on Wednesdays. They are open for everything else :-)
Wendy Klop: Feb 15 2023 This afternoon I called in about an animal that was discovered deceased in the slough besides Shell Road and as I am looking for my missing cat it was thought that perhaps this could have been our boy. Subsequently a very amazing fellow "Ed" from the SPCA came and even though the location was treacherous with a steep slope, blackberry bushes barring the way Ed worked with great ingenuity in figuring out a way to free the "body" which ended up being a young raccoon instead. The weight of the animal was substantial and I can't thank Ed enough for the tremendous effort and care he took in retrieving the raccoon and confirming for me that it was not my cat or anyone else's for that matter. It really meant a lot so thank you again Ed!!Best Regards Wendy
Ceola Kelly: Do not donate or volunteer to this place. They show surplus on their annual report and we were bullied, harassed, illegally surveillanced for 3 months a single mom with 2 young children. They then falsified reports to seize our pet husky right before xmas who is sitting at their shelter not being adopted. The officers are on power trips wannabe cops and when we stood up for our rights they harassed us further. My kids were going to volunteer here not anymore. Donate and volunteer at a place where they don’t harrass and bully young vulnerable families and children, wrongfully seize pets only to leave them stuck worse at the shelter having separation anxiety missing her family because of their power trips and sense of entitlement. Their brand new facility is a result of them falsifying reports, fining us the public to feed their pockets further. The BCSPCA is a huge scam. They took our PET husky Aurora changed her name with a false narrative and moved her to the Burnaby SPCA. They lie so much. This is not a place of pet lovers. They are overpaid bullies with no accountability department overlooking their wrongful actions.Your work is not evidence based your officers falsify evidence and lie. There is no accountability department for it that’s why you’re being sued in BC Supreme courts. That’s where your donation money will go to fill their fat paycheques, fund their brand new facility, pay their legal bills fighting their officers falsifying evidence like they did to me a single mom and my kids and others fighting against them falsifying evidence in BC Supreme Court.Donate to RAPS or Wildlife shelters that genuinely care about animals not funding themselves.
William “Wthomas104” Pearson: Don’t bother wasting your time going to this location folks! It is always closed for viewing pets. I have been to this location three times and every time it’s closed.I donate regularly to the SPCA and even requested folks donate to SPCA in lou of retirement gift for me! No more.
William Lew: Excellent staff and great service!
Farsh N: Wonderful dedicated people who really love animals, koodos to them.
Alan Ngo: We just adopted a strayed dog from Richmond BCSPCA, staff are friendly and helpful. Facility is new and clean.
A D: Check out their new amazing facility! Community based, friendly staff with wonderful pets looking for their fuuurever homes.
Patrick Jonsson-Good: Sent in an adoption application and I was able to take home a beautiful lynx point kitten the very next day. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and professional despite (presumably) housing an inordinate number of animals. Adoption process was simple and flexible. I am so lucky they chose me to adopt such a special cat.My only complaint is that the building is somewhat hard to find, far from the official road sign and does not say "SPCA" on it. Both myself and my Uber home separately had trouble finding the exact location.
Ryusuke Fukazawa (Ryu): First step in and you'll notice it's a brand new, super cool, clean and spacious building. There's some cool artwork in the parking lot, too. We went into to adopt a kitten and they were so helpful through everything. We still have to have him neutered next week. But they are really great and seemed to have taken care of the kitten very well, as he is adjusting to his new forever home wonderfully. 😍
Lana Mcclelland: Brand new facility, they should be proud. The animals will be comfortable.
Pamela Peel: I went there to finalize the adoption of a little senior dog I was fostering from Maple Ridge SPCA. The young lady did not know how to fill out the forms. She explained that this branch had only cats and other small pets. They are planning a much bigger facility which will include dogs. Hopefully then they will train their staff correctly. The young lady was very kind and tried hard, but she was unfamiliar with the procedures for dogs. I'm looking forward to seeing the new building.
Bob Braden: Well needed 😌

New Westminster Animal Shelter: what do users think?
darren young: AMAZING , COMPASSIONATE, HELPFUL STAFF, AFTER A FIRE DESTROYED MY HOME AND MY CAT WAS TRAPPEDTHEY WERE ABLE TO SET ME UP WITH RESOURCES TO CAPTURE MY SCARED CAT, BUT ALSO PROVIDED FOOD FOR ME AS I LITERALLY HAD NOTHING FOR MY ANIMAL FOR MY ANIMAL AFTER THE FIRE, I THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING DURING THIS HORRIBLE TIME :)
DevourerJay: Not allowed to walk in, "appointment only". Utterly asinine.
Michelle Bernier: So helpful and very kind
Tiffany Low: Friendly and helpful staff, clean and well-kept facilities, and the animals are taken great care of by staff and volunteers alike!
Jimit Modi: Didn't received the information that we were looking for
Courtney Lilley (Courtney): ALL of the staff members we encountered were very kind, understanding and very sweet you can tell they care so much about the animals and people. Thank you on behalf of my entire family for being so wonderful. We are so happy and blessed to have been able to get our dog Marley back. We will be back with some donations to show our appreciation and to help the other animals. ❤️
Forbidden Fruit: Great folk great people... I came in to take my puppy home that got lost... and I may be back to adopt a beautiful boy named van hopefully he's still there
Larry Fletcher: Wonderful caring, knowledgeable staff. Recommend!
Arab Series (‫مسلسلات تركية‬‎): Not bad this place
J H: Awesome animal shelter
James Williams: Great staff, easy process and truly pleased to find responsible pet parents.
Bill Watson: Great staff, clean location. They took great care of Tootsie while in between homes.
Patrick Foreman: They lent me a cat trap that helped me get my cat back!! Very happy now! Very thankful!
Bonnie Young: Facility only accessible with an appointment. Was able to drop off donations at the door
Andrew Goodger: It was a nice hike there, if you don't have a vehicle. But other than that, they treated my dog with care and attention. Did follow up on my pet, and had real consideration for her needs. Thank you. A bit expensive for new pet owners though. If that ever is in a budget for us or not?!? Would be a nice thought for others that lose their pet by freak accidents.
Robin Sukorokoff: Great place for those animals that need help!
Genevieve Carrier: I was there on Wednesday and I give up my emotional support animalBecause I could not find a place to live. I call to ask if I could get my emotional support animal back they said no.I have papers and they said they could not be trueFlack document when I paid for it. They are from here Canada.ThanksCan anyone help me to get her back.SincerelyGenevieve
Gabe Baron: Wonderful staff. Very responsive and considerate of the animals.
Sheila P: Very clean and spacious shelter, and incredibly nice staff. We adopted our kitten there in July and the staff was so nice and very knowledgeable about each of the animals. We also loved how clean and spacious the rooms were. Thank you for a very smooth adoption process.
Katie Ripley: Staff were incredibly helpful and courteous.
Anna: Nothing but GREAT things to say about the NWAS!The staff are patient, kind, caring, and take what they do seriously. They are also very fair with the adoption process - remember that their job is to ensure the BEST for the animals so that they don't end up back at a shelter again. This may come across as strict for some but it's in the best interest of the animals. The facility is small (and possibly underfunded) but it is VERY well maintained (did not smell of urine/feces).We went through the foster to adopt process when we got our dog, then known as "Jerome Von Wigglesbottom" now Zeus @zeuswildadventures ,and we were very well informed and taken care of from start to finish. Zeus is now 2.5 years old and the shelter staff still reach out via social media to see how he is! We are about to about to adopt a kitten from them and are so happy to be able to support such a caring, hardworking facility and staff.THANK YOU!!!!!
