Pare de Pensar Pobre: No service, dirty tables, really slow to order and to get some food. The cod tasted as Canadian cod, not as Portuguese, we’re really disappointed at all. Do not try!

David Mak: This place is fantastic! Their food is unpretentious, tasty and very traditional. I imagine that’s how a Portuguese grandma or grandpa would cook them at home. The restaurant has an old-school comfy feel. Fellow patrons have a European community center kind of friendly and chatty vibe. We ordered grilled sardines, grilled squids, seafood casserole, fried ribs, cod cakes and steamed mussels and 5 pints of beer, and the bill was only $135! What a reasonable deal! And they threw in a basket of chewy Portuguese buns and pickled olives for free! And I just found out that this restaurant is a non-profit! How wonderful!
Jonathan Medeiros: Awesome place for a traditional portuguese dinner. Was shocked to see such tradition live on coming from Toronto area. Absolutely loved the caldo verde soup and the dinner clams, pork and potatoes. I would recommend this place to any family looking for a place for dinner in the Vancouver area. I will definitely come back once I'm in the Vancouver area.
More Memorable Events: Excellent traditional food prepared with love. Enjoyed a family style meal sharing a number of entres and appies. The grilled squid appetizer wasn't on the menu but I'd seen it on other reviews and heard it was delicious. We were not disappointed. The Portuguese buns that accompanied the meal were excellent for absorbing the yummy juices and broth from the clams. Will definitely return.

Mam Farhad: I am a regular customer here but today I was so disappointed. I had guests and I brought them to this restaurant, I ordered chicken with 3 fries and when the first plate of chicken came I told the cashier that I had ordered fries with it but she said I didn’t. She asked if I wanted to order one but I told her no since I assumed that she had forgotten to add one of the orders of fries. The other two plates of chicken came only one of the plates had fries. I told the lady that we had ordered more than one order of fries, she told me that I only ordered one.She didn’t understand me when I ordered, up this point it was okay. I asked her for a large fries and later on before I even finished my food another woman came and very rudely told me that I needed to pay for the fries right in front of my guests.Although it wasn’t my mistake and I shouldn’t really have payed if she had told me in a respectful way I would have been fine with it but she came right when I was eating as if I was going to run off.Later the cashier that took our order came back and once again told us that we have to pay for it in a rude way.I always take the plates back when I’m finished eating every time I eat here and I even left a 5 dollar tip but this time I was really upset with the poor service and the cashier that couldn’t understand my order.

I had never really had Portuguese food until I met my wife and this is one of the best I’ve had. The roast chicken was juicy and packed with flavour and the Natas (Portuguese tarts) were out of this world. Cinco Estrelas really hit it out of the park for our wedding. I would definitely recommend them.

Gina Alm: Ordered from Anita’s pop up and my old school Portuguese parents loved it to my surprise. Both of my parents can be picky. My dad said and I quote “So we are ordering again for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve right?”. We ordered bacalhau à Brás let me tell you there was more codfish then potatoes (my dad loved to see that an eat it) and we got prawns piri piri omg so good and so much flavour. It’s Karen: We emailed Anita with little notice for a small grad dinner celebration and we received a response within minutes. From the get go the communication was excellent. She was able to accommodate our request with the only stipulation being we had to pick up because they already had a number of events booked. Not a problem as she'd already saved the day by saying yes :) When we arrived to pick up, everything was ready to go. The smells wafting from the different dishes as we brought the food in had everyone looking around to see where it was coming from, and dinner did not disappoint. We had the bifanas and basa fillets which were both amazing! The pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fish was very lightly breaded, with a delicate flaky texture and the sauce was the perfect amount of vinegary and savory. Definitely my favorite! We had the usual sides, roast potatoes, salad, rice, etc. and they all tasted fresh and homemade. No frozen or canned or re-heated flavours at all!. Oh and the buns!! They were not from the usual bakery, I think they were made on site, I forgot to ask. But right up there with the best we've had. The portions were a good size and we were able to share take home plates. I would not hesitate to recommend Cinco Estrelas Catering to our family and friends, and will use them again for our next event! I only wish I'd taken pictures before everyone dug in. A Ramirez: Loved Nando's in London and Dubai before and since we don't have it in WInnipeg, we really went out of our way to visit this branch when we flew in to Vancouver recently. We're so happy with the chicken wings with lemon and herb peri peri sauce which was not as spicy and the 1/2 chicken for my husband with medium spicy sauce. Love the juicy, grilled flavor and the fact that we can choose the level of spiciness of the sauce made it perfect for us. Hope you open a branch in Winnipeg soon!

Gary Glans: I just ran in for a takeaway wrap. It was very fresh and spiced nicely. A good break from the subway sandwiches, etc., that somehow never taste that exciting. They have free wifi while you wait for your order. My only complaint is they put everything in a takeaway paper bag, making me think I had all I needed... fork for the coleslaw and a napkin. I realized after digging in that I needed to grab all that somewhere. I think if you are doing takeaway in a sit-down restaurant, you should at least tell customers to grab cutlery and napkins if you haven't already provided them.

She made us feel looked after, suggesting menu, having small talks and even giving our son his own water. The portions of chicken were quite good. We couldn't decide the level of spiciness so the staff informed us we can order half and half on a whole chicken.We also love the food presentation. The vibrant, unique plates were a plus! The chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender with just the right amount of heat from the spices. The sides were equally delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the peri peri fries and coleslaw.Despite the great food, the service was lacking. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive.Overall, I highly recommend Nando's peri peri to anyone who loves good food. The chicken is absolutely worth the visit.
