Pear Tree Elementary: what do users think?
Vanja: Pear Tree School is a forefront leader in childhood education. Their innovative theme-based methodology coupled with real-life knowledge application sets Pear Tree apart from all other schools in Vancouver. Pear Tree equips students with the skills and confidence to understand the challenges of the world in which they live, recognizing their responsibility towards others, the environment, and themselves.Lead by an exceptional team of Masters prepared teachers, the school offers an outstanding breadth of educational experiences, encourages academic intrigue, and sets the stage for lifelong learning. Enthusiasm for academic endeavor lies at the heart of the school, stimulating students to think deeply and explore ideas beyond the curriculum. Every pupil is encouraged to be curious, creative, critically aware, and to develop their passion and talent to their fullest potential. Pear Tree provides students with an abundance of opportunities to discover, pursue, and develop their skills, talents, and interests while being empowered to flourish and build healthy relationships with others and with the community.Pear Tree has a holistic student approach which ensures every member of the school feels valued, supported and encouraged, and has the confidence and determination to respond to setbacks in a resilient manner. Children are nurtured into confident, outgoing, inquiring, and creative young people. The faculty, students, and parents recognize and celebrate the benefits of having a diverse school community, in which individuals value themselves, one another, and the different contributions that everyone can make in the classroom, our wider neighborhood, and the world. It has been an absolute privilege having my child attend Pear Tree; I recommend the school whole-heartedly to families.
Darrick Boyes: It was a delight to see such a bright, and positive environment. Healthy and happy children excited to learn. I know that we are lucky to have progressive learning schools like this, and it definitely gave me hope for a better way to bring the best out of our children. The staff and the children all smiling and the chef cooking healthy food for the children. This would have been a dream come true when I was a kid.
Bob Li: the chef is a very good chef and he makes good food too
Delaram Norani: We decided to look for a private school after the pandemic hit. First of all, they never disclosed the fact that they have a group three certificate which means they are considered a school that doesn't have follow BC's curriculum. I found out about that after I called the FISA.The co-owner is a very unprofessional person that obviously only cares about money. I sent an email notifying the school that my daughter wouldn't attend PT. Below is his exact response. Very disappointing response from a school that its main goal should be kids' education."Regardless of your decision, the 1st tuition payment of $5,757 is still due at the end of May, as per your contractual agreement. This can be paid by cheque or e-transfer."The principal listens to your concern, but never really takes action as she believes, the school knows what they are doing and we as parents shouldn't interfere in what happens at school.Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would rather send my child to a public school and hire tutors instead of sending my child to an incompetent school like Pear Tree.Below is my husband's review that keeps getting deleted:Positives;this is a small, 50 student school that escaped the distractions of Covid because of its size.the project based learning approach is an interesting way to educate – if executed properlyNegatives; This is a “group three” independent school (link below) that is not obligated to follow BC curriculum or test to it. In fact, they are very reluctant to do any substantive testing to reassure parents that they are educating appropriately. "Trust us" is the operative phrase they use. They are not rated by the Fraser Institute, nor would they want to be we suspect. This is somewhat disingenuous, as Pear Trees marketing material claims that they are a "top Private School" without any effort to substantiate this, and indeed a stated school aversion to ”testing”. In our opinion, the level of education provided is inferior to that of the private school our daughter is now attending. The school facilities are “Spartan”, to say the least.Pear Tree is a tenant in a class C (old), unsecured commercial building and has no gym, no change facilities, no library, no campus, no auditorium, no music rooms, no cafeteria, no computer lab -these would be considered basic amenities for a "Top Private School".There is administrative dysfunction - for both terms, report cards (which provide little in the way of progress information for your child) were provided several days later than promised, and for term 1 were lacking in any mention of term progress – in their words, the school needed to “remedy the oversight" with a revised report some days later still. The particular teacher for grades 5-7 we unfortunately rate as poor to mediocre based on our parent teacher meets, feedback from our daughter, and feedback from other parents. In addition, she was absent from class for in excess of a month of school, and the school was not capable of providing a suitable substitute replacement. We believe teacher quality is THE critical factor in education quality. When we communicated our specific concerns with the principal, she informed us that she was in a much better position to evaluate the quality of her staff as a "professional educator" and defensively and summarily dismissed our concerns. Conclusion; We decided to move our child to St. Johns, as did other parents, as she faced two more years with this teacher and an unresponsive school which sees fit to charge top dollar for a poor to mediocre educational experience.
Dylan D: Not recommended-there are many good reasons to have your child attend a private school in BC including seeking a superior education and facilities. And if you are paying $15-26,000 in tuition, you should, at a minimum, expect these benefits.Unfortunately, Pear Tree can only offer a hot lunch.
Zahra Hudani: We love Pear Tree. It truly has a community feel. We appreciate the regular communication channels available to us as parents and feel informed throughout the year. They are also really responsive to any concerns or feedback which is important for us as parents. The group of staff are wonderful, very smart and kind, and focused on each individual students’ needs. They have built an inclusive environment and their project-based learning approach is practical and impactful. Our daughter has grown so much, both socially and academically, since being there. We also love their focus on being active and healthy. Our daughter absolutely loves the healthy hot lunch program and it takes a huge load off us as parents with meal preparation. They have PE everyday and some fun programs too like skating, yoga and gymnastics. We highly recommend Pear Tree!
Kate Chase: Pear Tree has been a wonderful experience for our daughter. In terms of academics, the project based learning approach is implemented with an enormous amount of planning and thought, and it shows in the high quality of the children's work! Pear Tree kids are learning to think deeply and critically about the big issues of our day.Socially, Pear Tree is a warm, welcoming environment and teachers are focused on fostering positive relationships and an understanding of diversity. We feel so lucky as a family to have discovered Pear Tree, and are excited to see what high school brings!
Irina Mackay: If you are looking for a school that fosters children's love for learning and helps them grow as confident, responsible and kind people then look no further! Our son started attending Pear Tree in Kindergarten and is now finishing Grade 1. He started off as shy and introverted and has since blossomed with confidence and is a lot more comfortable with public speaking and interpersonal relations. The reading and math skills acquired at Pear Tree surpass those of many other kids his age. We believe that this is due to Pear Tree's approach to education through project based learning which keeps students engaged and allows to apply their skills to real life concepts. Our son is always coming home excited about the themes explored at school and has developed a love for learning at Pear Tree. One of the other amazing things about this school is that they have an in house kitchen and chef and serve daily fresh meals and snacks to the students! Our son used to be very picky when it came to eating but since attending Pear Tree he is a lot more open minded to trying a variety of foods. As parents this is also very convenient for us since we don't have to worry about packing a lunch or snacks and we know that he is eating healthy and fresh food while at school. All teachers and staff are amazing educators and really care about students as individuals. The communication is excellent and we are always updated about our son's daily activities through the Fresh Grade app.The school also places a strong emphasis on physical education, with daily PE time and different activities such as yoga, gymnastics as even parkour! Our middle son is joining Pear Tree next year and we will be also sending our daughter to this school when it comes time for her to join kindergarten. We are delighted to have found this amazing community and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this school as an overall excellent choice for both academic and personal growth.
Sandrine Espie: Our son joined PearTree last year. He is now in grade 3, and our decision to change school for PearTree was the best decision for his socio-emotional and intellectual development. Pear Tree offers project-based learning opportunities. Kids develop various hands-on experiences as well as creative, artistic, engaging, collaborative, and fun projects. The small classes and combined grades enhance leadership and a sense of cooperation and peer support between students. The themes that students worked on every semester address some of the most pressing issues that this generation will need to understand, i.e. exploring their natural environment by going on various field trips to study birds, bees, weather and landforms.Pear Tree curriculum includes daily PE, music classes, french (all the teachers are bright, responsive and engaging). The school has a fantastic chef who cooks hot lunch on site (which exposes students to different flavours, textures, cultures etc.). PearTree's learning environment is challenging (in a positive way), supportive, vibrant, creative. I've seen my child flourish, and I know he will thrive this year thanks to the dedicated, experienced, and professional staff.
Crystal Ehresman: Pear Tree is the best option in the city for busy parents. Their curriculum is well-rounded in arts and athletics which really takes the pressure off from finding extracurricular activities. The days are extended compared to public schools, and there is a before and/or after-school care option. This was a huge relief to me because my schedule requires flexibility. I love not having to pack lunches or provide snacks. The in-school chef saves me the time and mental energy that comes with meal prep and I can count on nutritious snacks and lunches. Most importantly, the faculty, staff and students are wonderful people, and I know my daughter is well-cared for.
Penny Chuang: Our daughter attended Pear Tree Elementary since kindergarten. Their project-based learning really showed a different approach compared to traditional education. The teachers, the staff, and the kids work collectively and really make up a warm and welcoming environment. Pear Tree does not just focus on academic results, but rather shaping our kid to be growing in all aspects of life, into becoming a better part of the community. In addition, their hot lunch program provides healthy and various choices everyday, shout out to chef Borja! We are more than satisfied of what our daughter has been able to achieve and learn here. Our second daughter will be graduating pre-school next year, and needless to say, Pear Tree is our one and only choice for her as well!
Ryusei Koyama: I was a student at pear tree, and this school was the best school I ever went in my life! The cook’s food is really healthy AND good!
Luna G: Pear tree elementary is a small but exceptional school in Vancouver. My son could adjust well thanks to their careful attention and full support when we moved to this new city. My son loves Pear Tree’s tailored approach to teaching and learning. He’s learning how to learn in PTE. In particular, I like this about the school. PTE offers a variety of activities and special classes, so children can have diverse experiences. One more thing I must tell you is the best teachers with passion and professionalism. I highly recommend PTE.
Cailin Broere: We recently moved to Vancouver from Hong Kong where our daughter attended a top international school. We really wanted to keep her level of learning consistent with what she had experienced in HK and hoped to find a school that shared our values and also provided a diverse and global outlook. We found Pear Tree in our search and have been truly impressed.Pear Tree is a small school but its founders are committed to educating the whole child. Social, emotional and dietary health are all considered and nurtured on a daily basis. The PE program and outdoor learning opportunities are fantastic. Borja, the school chef, ensures that my daughter is eating healthy, hot meals and saves me so much time and stress during the week. Picking up my daughter from school and having her excitedly show me the perfect seashell that she found on her morning trip to the beach is really just one of the many aspects that make Pear Tree so special. If you are familiar with the PYP curriculum and its values and principles, I really encourage you to consider Pear Tree in your search. Innovative, enquiry-based learning is alive and well here.
Ryan Liu: Pear Tree is an excellent elementary school. Even though, the school is small but it's packed with everything your children need to know. Their directors and teachers are very friendly. Their staff knows every single child's name. I can see that all the students are having fun learning at school.
Lynn Wang: We went to the school when my son was 3 and we really impressed the education environment. Although the school is small and located in an office building, the kids still have plenty of space here and there. what we like the best is the school using most updated social events as study case and make us feel like our son is communicating with the society. very good school and very nice teachers.
Qin Luo: It is the best school for us, our oldest child studies in community 3 and she likes everything in this place ,and we hope our second child and youngest child could study at Peartree in near future!
Qin Zhang: Fantastic! It has a very friendly and respectful environment, my daughter Eva started at Peartree in September 2018, she was very shy and speak a little English at that time, but now she is very confident and enjoy everyday in Peartree, moreover she loves every Peartree's staff and students!By the way, Louisa Chen is really amazing!
Line Aune: What an inspiring place Pear Tree is! Our daughter started at Pear Tree Elementary last fall after loosing motivation at her previous school. After just a short while, after school starting, she started to love school again and she doesn't even want to leave at pick-up time.My daughter enjoys being in a class with other grades, where it is most important to excel on your own level. All students are closely followed up by their enthusiastic teacher. The teacher continuously keeps the students eager to learn by using different tools ; visual, arts and crafts, field trips and new technology, as well as using interesting themes as background. And how cool isn't it to have snake or salmon eggs hatching in the classroom? We also love that the school focuses on nutritious food and physical education every day (during last half year they have had martial arts, skating, yoga, climbing, dance class and a lot of different activities outside with Mr M)!All the above makes an excellent foundation for our child and I strongly recommend the school.
Neda Shahbandian: Today I went to this school for privet tour , after half an hour delay its manager (Paul) was coming he behaved completely impolite toward us, without any sorry for delay. He didn't show us anythings and just asked "what is your question?" when I asked my question he said :"there are all answers in their website". On the other hand this school is so bad and really small like a small daycare , I never will register my daughter in horrible school.
Ivy Irem Dreger: Our daughter started Pear Tree in September (Grade 2). After 3 years in a very elite and popular co-educational private school, we wanted something less traditional and more creative and innovative for her. She was getting bored and losing her creative spark. Even though she had no academic or emotional issues, she wasn’t very happy and wanted to be challenged.Pear Tree is a breath of fresh air for her because she gets to create new things daily and there is no time for boredom. She gets so much attention thanks to the small class size. Lessons are always connected to real life and incorporate so many different subjects. Project based learning is very beneficial for sparking creativity and mimicking real life work environment. Kids need to work in groups frequently and complete tasks together in a timely manner. All work is always completed and accounted for. You don’t end up with piles of half completed work at the end of the term. Kids are always out and about and go to so many educational and fun field trips. The PE and music programs are amazing. Thanks to her encouraging PE teacher, she participated at a cross country race even though running is not her forte. After only one term she already plays songs with her ukulele! The hot food program is amazing. Their chef prepares everything from scratch and makes very creative, healthy dishes. No more packing lunches and worrying about her veggie consumption!Pear Tree is a very special school. It might look small from outside, but somehow manages to fit a much bigger and more creative world into its space compared to a lot of schools with elaborate campuses. Paul and Alexis put so much effort into creating an outstanding education experience for all. They hire top notch teachers and staff that are so dedicated to their craft. Pear Tree is what 21st century education should be.Our daughter loves her school and never wants to miss a day. We feel so fortunate to be a part of Pear Tree family.

Sylvan Learning of Vancouver - Kerrisdale: what do users think?
Tricia Raeburn: We started our daughter at Sylvan to help her catch up on her English skills as she switched from French immersion in Grade 4. In the short 2 months that she has been there, she has blossomed and her reading has improved immensely. The teachers are all wonderful.
Hailey Le: My son love this learning center, teachers have fun activities to encourage kids to studying. We so glad to send my son here
Damon Ding: Good staff, comfortable learning environment. They love to go there learning🙂
glenn chua: Contacted about 5 other tutors. They know what they are talking about, plus they don’t ask for a commitment/contract unlike others, just goes to show that they are confident. I am bringing my other child for tutoring.
Jacob: This is a recommended place to teach kids how to read and write. thank you so much for teaching!
Harman Li: The best Sylvan branch in town! My 5-year old enjoyed inclusive learning with friendly teachers and staff. With only once a week English literacy class, my daughter get "L" in her kindergarten English reading which well exceeds her age level. Thumbs up for the professional teachers and kind staff at Sylvan Kerrisdale!
David Poon: My son joined the Sylvan Reading program 4 months ago and we have noticed great progress. Not only can he pronounce the words but he is also very confident when reading to his classmates at school. This is why he is always excited to attend the lessons twice a week.Thank you to the teachers who make it fun for him to learn.I highly recommended Sylvan for parents with kids that need some extra support or just want to stay ahead!
C. H.: We have been sending our kids to Sylvan Learning for almost 10 years. Our kids have benefitted immensely, because Sylvan’s program is very in tune with what is being taught in the school system. Their reading, writing, and math programs have given all of our kids the confidence they need to excel academically. We have so much faith in their teachers that we never feel the need to request specific ones. We trust Sylvan, especially the directors at this location, to help our kids build a solid foundation of academic skills, study habits, and work ethic. They are truly invested in each and every student.
Mahbod Chehrazi: Sylvan is amazing at bring knowledge to my brain and is amazing at making me smarter and a better writer
Lindsay Silbernagel: My child is happy to attend as he is making progress with kind and engaging tutors. The director, Brenda, is helpful and responsive. The environment is clean, bright and welcoming.
K A: My 9 year old daughter started attending Sylvan (Kerrisdale) this year. She's been attending for a few months and is really enjoying herself. We have seen some progress in her skills and abilities thus far but most importantly she is feeling confident and happy. She is always excited to attend class at Sylvan Kerrisdale and looks forward to working with all her teachers. We hope to continue in the program for the long run and also thinking about having our youngest daughter join.
Katherine Chan Sison: My son and daughter recently joined Sylvan Kerrisdale - we cannot thank all the teachers and directors enough. We send the kids three times a week - they have been enjoying every single lesson and they always look forward to their next session. We are very impressed with how Sylvan manages to keep “every child’s learning personal”; the directors are very on top of our monthly review which we truly appreciate. We have also been referring our kids’ friends to enroll in the amazing Sylvan program! Upwards and onwards!
Suzanne Stewart: I have found the Executive Director of the Kerrisdale Centre to be very supportive of my son's learning journey. His specific needs are being addressed and their writing program has been tailored to meet my son where he's at. Although the year at Sylvan hasn't shifted his marks at school, it has shifted his mindset, which is the first (big) step.
Poonam Preetika: It is a great learning institution for children.I am so glad that I put my son for English Learning classes as I can see improvement in his learning and I hope He excels more.Thank you to the teachers.
J Ip: We started Sylvan learning for our daughter 2 years ago to help her reading and in just one year we saw an incredible difference. She no longer needed extra help at school and in fact was commended by her teacher for being above grade level! This year she has had both virtual and in person tutoring to help her math. She finds her lessons fun and engaging and reports that they are improving her performance at school. We have been thrilled and impressed with all of the staff, from Brenda who is the head and coordinator, to all of the teachers. The token and reward system works really well as the toys are awesome and keep our daughters very excited (we were so happy we added our older daughter for extra learning) . I would highly recommend Sylvan without reservation, whether it's for assisting a child with learning difficulties or a gifted child who wants to get ahead.
Justin Peng: Sylvan is very good at teaching my son. Thanks!
Jordana Dodek: This is great place to go for your child to learn additional skills to supplement their in school learning. It is not the same as a tutor they don't work on school work there is a real focus on working on beefing up skills that might be lacking or weak. There are regular updates to see your child's progress. They also use a token system that helps to motivate your kid. Highly recommend this place.
wioletta putko: Thank you!
Alice WANG: Our daughter started with Sylvan when she was 4 years old in the early reading program and now she is one of the most efficient readers in her grade. We recently switched her to the math program and are trying to get more advanced in math. Both programs are very systematic and thorough, and have been helping my daughter build essential skills and confidence. Most importantly, it is making learning easy for her. We like how the Sylvan Director proactively reached out to us on a regular basis to update us on my daughter's progress, and to listen to our goals and providing advice based on that.
Ingrid: Very accommodating. Excellent tutors. My daughter made it through 5 years of high school math because of Sylvan.
MING YUE KE: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality

Pattison High School: what do users think?
Blake Steinson: We provided a first aid course for the staff of Pattison High. They were an amazing and fun group that got along great! They took their training seriously and care deeply about the safety and wellbeing of their colleagues and students. The entire group was extremely helpful and respectful to their instructor, and even bought flowers for her birthday! I hope to work with them again soon. Thanks Pattison!
Y H: This is an image I took ten years ago on my graduation day. Back then, I was a young international student new to Vancouver and received tremendous support from Pattison. After I graduated, I studied Environmental Design at UBC and now taking a master of fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania and based in New. York and Philadelphia. I could not forget it was our art teacher, Mr. Scaramella, who taught me how to use a camera and paint. Ms. Lau taught me economics; she is a brilliant and caring young scientist. And my math teacher Mr. Stewart, would wear his traditional Scotland outfit in the festivities and introduce what we call each pocket of it. It was a loving international community; our founder Ms. Lu is a very respectful and visionary educator. My experience in Pattison has prepared me for further education and life as a global citizen.
Giselle Bui: Being a student at Pattison High School was one of the most honourable and memorable experiences of my life. The teachers genuinely care about your learning outcomes and helping you accomplish your goals. I was surprised that the school community here is friendly, affectionate and always prepared to assist each other. This school does an amazing job of preparing students for university. In the beginning, I was struggling with homesickness, but all the teachers, students, and staff provided such a welcoming and positive environment. My one-year study at PHS has been a critical stepping stone on my path to success.
Mohammad Sadra Niakhalili: As a current student at Pattison High School, I should admit that the school has many professional teachers who will help in any case or situation. Also, an experienced advisor team is always available to assist you with your difficulties. However, I want to mention that the school can have some improvements in the counselling area.
Windows1088: 呦西
Tom Peng:
lily yang: Pattison Middle School has three semesters each year, so that students have enough time to complete all the high school courses. Most of the teachers in the school teach hard, and my friends and my relatives' kids have got the offer of the ideal university from this school
Kay Zong: I graduated from Pattinson since march, I’m going to ubc for my university degree learning, I love the teachers in Pattinson, they really helped me a lot in school.
linh pham: I'm having a great time studying at Pattison. The teachers are always friendly and help me a lot. Besides, Miss Stella is the best advisor I've ever met. She gave me a lot of useful advice. 5 stars for her. :")
Minh Anh Đặng: For me, studying at Pattison high school was my great experience. The teachers taught me very carefully and made me improve a lot. Especially, the teacher I remember the most is Ms.S, she was so funny and I enjoyed studying in her class. Besides, I also like Ms. Stella who is one of the advisors in my school :)))))
Alica J: Thanks to the teachers and advisors! I received great support when studying here.
e Ma: The principle Mr. Chowne and the administration assistant Lynn are both very kind. They tried very hard to help my daughter register an AP exam, after she had some registration complications, even though it is already way past the deadline. We almost gave up because all other schools said no, but Mr. Chowne phoned College Board multiple times to get us a special registration. We are very appreciative of their warm-hearted help!
Alex W.X (Alexlivesindesert): I would not call it a high school. They only get six room and one toilet. They only have one story for the campus. And there’s no gym at the school but they will help you get membership from the gym cross the street. I would give no star if I can. Such a disappointment to Canadian education system
Strange Alessandro: this might be be worst school in Vancouver. Students paid $22k a year and all they got is 1 toilet. There are no local students, all you see will be Chinese people. the hallway is too small, no gym and their cafeteria can't even hold 30 students. The school is way smaller than what showed in their advertisement. Think twice before you go to this school.
Dave: I could not agree more to give Pattison High school a 5 star.Teachers and staffs are supportive, knowledgeable and approachable. The principal sometimes is over-strict on students about using their language at school ( they have English only policy), but it's good for students themselves.
Ruby Li: great school perfect environment
dark mushroom: This place always can make people feel uncomfortable
Alex: Great and friendly teachers!
Cậu bé đầu bếp: Teachers are nice, they help me many times during class. Even when I am not a smart student and my English is not good, they never complain and alway cheer me up.
nguyen viet duc pham: This is a great school, teachers are really nice. Love this school so much.
pooya namavari: I knew I would need to study abroad to really improve my English, that lead me to Pattison High school. I advanced my education quickly at Pattison High school. Getting involved at Pattison High school helped me to make connections and found awesome friends. Community of friends at Pattison High school is fantastic, we all treat one other like family.

Sylvan Learning of West Vancouver: what do users think?
Sarah Tam: Learned so much here! Bhavani and Zahra were the best tutors I have had and they helped me excel in my school subjects!
Kathy Wu: Positive:Communication,Quality
Mario Francis: Sylvan is a wonderful institution and their teachers genuinely care about the development and progress of my child. They are understanding, flexible and experienced, especially when dealing with students with learning disabilities. I am glad Sylvan is here to help support. Without them, my child would be academically unmotivated and frustrated with school. I highly recommend Sylvan if you want to see confidence grows and results improve.
Irma Schiele: I went to Sylvan Learning of west Vancouver during my last high school years, it was an enriching experience to say the least! Tutors Bhavani & Zarah were always willing to adapt assigned work to better suit my learning style, in fact they went above and beyond to make sure I was prepared to learn future assignments. They were patient and provided a positive scholar environment for me as well as my two siblings. I was able to work individually while receiving frequent feedback alongside other students whom were dealing with the same assignments, thus creating a communicative & inclusive relationship between tutor, student & study mates. I would highly recommend Sylvan Learning of West Vancouver to any struggling student, Bhavani & Zarah helped me move forward in History and Math, they will always be two of the most memorable tutors I’ve had!
A Z: Positive:Professionalism,QualitySylvan has been a great tool for my son to learn and grow academically in his studies. I would like to commend Sam for his professionalism and patience with my son. He has been a great help to allow my son to enjoy and have confidence with his academics. Thanks again!
Bob Zou: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI am a current high school student, I enjoy learning here, and the best teacher here is Bhavani because she is caring and talks to me about school and life.
equuxstylez: took my kid here and he finally started getting As. I'm very happy with this place!!
Herman Ng: Positive:Professionalism,Qualitygreat service, and created a special catered program for the kids. Exceptional service and follow up with the parents
Iona Macintyre: I am a student here at Sylvan, and I have been attending for over a year now. Sylvan has been really helpful to helping me reach my academic goals. I have been coming here for reading and writing. My tutor Bhavani works specifically on reading and writing and she is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. It is a good opportunity to work with her because she has a good understanding of the subjects and is very patient and kind to me. Teacher's always go above and beyond to explain the skills and lessons to me even if I have trouble picking up the concept.
Tony Le: Sylvan helped me with my math and English so that I could do better in school. When I started math in grade 8 I didn't really know too much and it was very difficult for me. When I started learning math at Sylvan, my teachers helped me a lot. My favorite teacher is Sam because when I have some trouble with my math questions he helps me figure it out.My other favorite teacher is Bhavani, she's always nice and makes me laugh when I'm doing my work.
S L: Sylvan learning has helped my family so much! We enrolled into their reading and writing program and I immediately saw changes to my niece's and nephew's grammar and vocabulary. They have gained so much more confidence in school now and don't feel behind or confused. I owe so much to the teachers. They are patient and understanding and genuinely care about their academic progress.
Rick: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismBrought my niece here for english and math. She's doing so much better now, I have to commend the work ethics and organizational skills the staff has to offer. Cheers to Sam N.
Justin Chan: What a great experience we have had with Sylvan. Especially with Sam who really helped my daughter.
Oscar Hung: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueSam N was super helpful when it came to helping my son. I was able to see the difference in my son not only in his English but his confidence with speaking in public!
Ms Dundas Video: Not enjoyible at all!!!

Claren Academy: what do users think?
Shawn Hood: An excellent school with very bright teachers, pupils, and management. Our son has really grown during his time at Claren, especially due to an education style and pace tailored to students' abilities. Claren was at full steam after Easter break in 2020 (when other schools scrambled to figure out online learning requirements, due to Covid-related shutdowns) and the learning barely skipped a beat. I'd encourage anyone looking for a progressive education for their child to contact Claren!

Sylvan Learning of North Vancouver: what do users think?
R Singh: My kids have loved coming to Sylvan. The lessons are engaging and fun. The kids continue to be motivated to learn. The teachers are very adaptable for times when the kids need extra help with homework or to study for a test that’s coming up at school. Their programming has helped both my kids improve in math and reading/writing at school.
Nicole Jenkins: Our 10 year old is engaged and learning. The team at the North Vancouver location are fantastic!
Sarra Gau: Sylvan in North Vancouver has done a great jog of building my daughter's skills and confidence in Math. She started out frustrated and confused in Grade 9 with big holes in her basic Math knowledge. She just finished grade 11 pre-calc with an A grade. She'll be back at Sylvan for grade 12 pre-calc. To put this in perspective she was told in grade 9 that she was not pre-calc material and should stick to Foundations of Math.
Anita Rudge: Sylvan learning centres are breaking barriers with children ! Especially my child who has a severe learning difficulty. We had almost accepted that after 3 years of trying to teach him to read or write it may not be posible .After attending sylvan since the summer not only is it possible he loves going there and is not frustrated when learning like before . He loves the way they teach and looks forward to going and earning rewards for learning . Tanya and Allison do a fantastic job and he leaves smiling every time 😊
DxrkXEditz: very good!
Yukimasa Kondoh: Cool
