Brix and Mortar: what do users think?
Shawn Joseph: It's absolutely perfect for the time you don't mind splashing a bit extra $$$!The food was to die for. You have to get the burrata salad to start off with. The mains are up to you. However, for the dessert, I still dream about that vietnamese coffee creme brulee. It was the definition of heaven. Finally, the servers were awesome and fun to talk to. They treated you like they were your pals.
Jiajyun Wang: This restaurant is perfect for a romantic date. We were lucky to sit in the courtyard on the second floor, just like having a date in a beautiful garden. As for the food, we ordered shrimp and fried cauliflower salad for appetizers, and they were both stunning. The flavors were rich and delightful. The steak and chicken for the main course maintained the high standards of a great restaurant

Brandon Wadley: We ate here last week and randomly spotted it was featured in Yellowjackets S1 E4. The feed was great, service was on point, ambiance beautiful! We came for our honeymoon and they brought us champagne to toast!
Carter & Madison Hougen: The definition of fine dining. This place has a great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and excellent food! The beef tenderloin is the best meal I’ve ever had, with the barbecue shrimp to start. Delicious!
Benny Hao Bin Li: Brix and Mortar is a restaurant that offers a memorable culinary adventure, leaving a lasting impression on its guests. My dining experience at this establishment was a combination of impressive highlights and a few areas that could be improved upon. The ambiance at Brix and Mortar is undeniably charming. The interior design exudes elegance and sophistication, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The service provided by the staff (Savannah?) was attentive and courteous, ensuring that our needs were met throughout the evening. The servers were knowledgeable about the menu and offered insightful suggestions. However, there was a moment when I informed the waiter of a small hair on the ramen egg of the Ahi Tuna Salad (I think you can see it on the picture). Since I have already split the salad with my family members, I wasn't expecting anything other than a follow up. The waiter said "let me check with the kitchen", took away the egg, and never came back with an apology or any follow up.The menu at Brix and Mortar offers a diverse range of dishes, showcasing the creativity and skill of the culinary team. We ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad, Burrata Di Puglia, Wild Sockeye Salmon, Lamb Neck, and Steak. The flavors were generally well-balanced, and the presentation was visually appealing. All the dishes were exceptional aside from the Steak, which was satisfactory, but not outstanding. The cocktails we ordered (Stregarita, Sakura Blossom, and Basil Exposition) were delicious as well.Overall, Brix and Mortar is a restaurant that offers a memorable dining experience with its refined ambiance, attentive service, and creative menu. Although there were a few minor areas for improvement, the overall experience was enjoyable and left a positive impression.Atmosphere and Environment: 5/5 Lovely!Service: 4/5 Minor incident that had occured.Food: 4.5/5 All the dishes were great and exceeded expectations aside from the Steak.Drinks 4.5/5

Service was good too.(2023年3月)3度目の来店でしたが、今回もとても満足でした。盛り付けも綺麗で美味しい料理、店内の雰囲気も良くてサービスも良いです。(March 2022)This is my first visit here, but I am a big fan already. Everything is so delicious and nicely presented. We had dine our Vancouver festival dinner menu. We had TOFU PORK BELLY SALAD, ROCANA PORK CHOP, WILD LOCAL SOCKEYE SALMON, Panna Cotta and fruit sorbet. The pork chop and salmon tasted great, perfectly cooked. And the desserts are both really good too. The service was very attentive and good as well.

Robert Zheng: Would Return.A refined establishment with a strong menu and excellent service.Tartare: One of the best I've had - strong mustard, creamy, tang, good chew, taste of steak still comes through. I like the carb as it is short and crumbly, adding good texture without scratching your mouth.Takes AMEX. Expect $60-$70pp.
Chey: Good food, but this place tries to be a little fancier than it actually is. Would be better if the atmosphere wasn't so uptight.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More

xx PreppyinPink: The worst restaurant we visited in Vancouver. It started pretty good. We walked up to the host and were immediately seated. Then we waited 20 minutes to be greeted by the waitress. Another 10 minutes for our drink delivery any then the waitress was back to take our order….so 45 minutes in we placed our order. It then took 40 minutes to get the first course a salad then another 60 minutes for the entree. We never saw the waitress again. We flagged down a busboy for water and tea while we were waiting and after 10 minutes waiting for someone to come back to check on us to take our plates or offer dessert we gave up and walked up to to host, requested the bill and left. The salad was excellent. The duck was dry. A huge disappointment all around.
Blair Friesen: Had a wonderful Mother's Day brunch here. Every bite was delicious and the service was fantastic.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Valerie Michetti: What an incredible dinner experience! We were served by Lynn, who was attentive, kind and helpful with wine recommendations. The bread was warm, the butter was soft, and we were brought little fried cauliflower amuse-bouche from the chef to start us off. While we waited on the wine, we had some cocktails: a clover club for me (perfectly balanced; I find them usually too sweet), and a moscow mule for my husband. The tuna tartare was mouth watering; both sweet and salty, with nice big pieces of fish and avocado. We couldn’t get enough of it!For the main course, I had the ravioli with scallops in beurre blanc, and don’t think I could ever order anything else off the menu going forward. It was to die for! Make sure you hold on to a slice or two of bread to sop up all that delicious sauce. My partner had the seafood spaghetti, and while the dish was over-salted, it was cooked to perfection and was delicious nonetheless. We were seated within earshot of the pianist, which was so enjoyable all evening, and he played happy birthday for me while Lynn surprised me with a little dessert to celebrate! Such a lovely touch. I can’t say enough about this restaurant and the experience, and can’t wait to come back
Michael Purdue: I was dining alone, yet I felt very taken care of--nit a second class citizen at all. E service was fantastic and the did delicious. The oysters were very good and shucked well. The Italian Greens exceeded my expectations. I also had the herb--crusted halibut special. Th portion was just right. The crust was crispy and flavorful, but not overwhelming, and it did not dry out the rest of the fish. It was moist and silky. The accompanying vegetables were also prepared quite well and I was able to enjoy the individual taste of each. I cannot remember the last time I had such wonderful zucchini. It was cooked perfectly and tasted delightful, as did the carrots. Highly recommend trying Bacchus.

Mallesh Pai: Nice old school bar: big leather chairs, suited bartenders etc. Definitely looks the part. We had a couple of glasses of wine and they were fine, but folks a little ways down seemed to be having some nice cocktails. Def worth a visit especially if you're looking for a place to meet/ chat with friends (ie it's buzzing but not noisy).

Martin Archer: Had breakfast. The bénédictine are average. I was expecting way more from this establishement . Especialy at that price point. Im sure the other meals are worth it but the brekfast is allright.
Jessica Impey: Bacchus is an amazing restaurant and is 100% worth the price. Our server Franklin was kind, considerate and knowledgeable for the whole four hour experience.
Dare Salmon: Really good restaurant for dinner. Amazing ambience, really good food and a variety of options. Fantastic service. Scott took great care of us
Ritu Aggarwal: Definitely an upscale restaurant. Our meals were delicious, the service impeccable, and the ambiance was relaxing and elegant. Well worth the experience of dining upscale, but food is overpriced. Thank you!

Lesley White: We stopped in for a cocktail on a rare sleepy Saturday night in Downtown Vancouver and were delighted to hear the live piano, intrigued by the great character of the other patrons and filled with the cheese and wine. It was a lovely experience.Vegetarian options: Limited, but there were two vegetarian options on the lounge menu, cheese board and pizza (as well as the usual suspects, salads/fries)

Cathy Fitzhugh: We made plans to come here to celebrate Mother's Day early, as well as celebrate a birthday, and I was really disappointed in the bottomless brunch, which is too bad, because we've had a wonderful experiences there before. No one asked all the food was, my toast was burnt on two occasions, I had to ask for water, repeatedly.... and I was missing cutlery more than once. The service was slow, and the staff was in attentive. when people brought food to the table, they had no idea where it was going or who had ordered it.We also had to wait long time to receive things. At one point I was waiting for a biscuit for over 20 minutes (after asking two different people,) and when I finally asked someone again, I saw that the biscuits were just sitting in a heated basket right behind us.No one apologized, not even once! In fact, after the biscuit incident, I think our server purposely avoided making eye contact. It was pretty odd.Don't recommend.

Century Honda: Great restaurant, nice atmosphere, not first time here either. While The Arc does have a patio and private room, the common seating area inside was chosen as there was live music on a Thursday evening which was nice to listen to.Place wasn’t too busy and the service from the staff was great.Started with Sour Dough bread appetizer and a grean tea. The bread was tasty. 🍞 🍵Ordered Arc Kale Caesar Salad with chicken as a main and it was great. 🥗 🍗Definitely return here again.
Sarah Menzinger: I was very tired after a long flight when I arrived. My waitress was a breath of fresh air! I can't thank her enough for her positive upbeat and friendly attitude. Sadly I don't recall her name but I believe she was either Italian or Greek.Next time I'm in Vancouver I will definitely pop in for a breakfast.Dietary restrictions: I am gluten intolerant and this was no issue! Vasisht Raghavendra: The best experience in all of our trip to Vancouver. The restaurant and the hotel both are excellent and the service is top notch. As part of Amex we had a deal for the restaurant and the hotel. Breakfast was covered as part of Amex. We had 5 meals at this restaurant and it was the best all the time. For breakfast our favorite was Benny with Spinach and caramelized onions. The hollandaise sauce is out of the world. We also had Pancakes and Avocado toast. We paired it with a latte onee time and cappuccino another time and a smoothie both times. For dinner our favorite was Butternut squash soup. We also tried the Sablefish, Cobb salad, Veggie burger, Lentils and Chicken wings. All the items were delicious and sufficient quantity.Update: Came back here after a year and a half and the food was better the last time around.

Botanist: what do users think?
Nicholas Quintillan: Certainly a terrific experience. I’ve known the lead bartender my whole life. He recently won some well-deserved accolades and he truly is the best bartender in Canada and even perhaps the world. A strong statement for sure, however, his cocktails are creative, unique, balanced, and ridiculously flavourful. The service was outstanding and the food was unbelievably great. If you want an “out-of-this-world” experience, come have some drinks and food at Botanist. Highly, highly recommended! It was the best Burrata and Duck I’ve ever had.
Daniel Jung: An exquisite dining experience! Came in for brunch with no reservation. Luckily, after a 10-minute wait, someone canceled.Service was brilliant, food and drinks tasted delicious, and the vegan dessert was amazing! The brunch was under $90 with tips included. Fantastic spot for a date. Highly recommend reservations!I will be back 100% thank you!
Heron Hanuman: I was fortunate to celebrate a friend's milestone with a group of close friends in the private room. The cocktails are incredible. Like really good. Kianna Kho: Came here for dinner. Food, drinks, and service were good during the dinner, but I have to deduct stars because they charged my credit card twice for the $250 dinner. It took 5 phone calls to finally get the refund. I never actually spoke to anyone from the restaurant, only the hotel. Never received a note or apology for the inconvenience, the charge was just quietly refunded to my card and I noticed on my statement.
Joel Chan: We got the three-course brunch and it was delicious. I ordered the charcuterie plate as my appetizer followed by a croque madame and the strawberry coconut panna cotta for dessert. The food was fantastic and I don't know which dish I liked more because it was honestly all good. My wife ordered the hand-cut beef tartare, butter poached lobster benedict, and the milk chocolate coffee mousse. We also got the antioxidant juice, orange juice, and blue moon non-alcoholic cocktail which paired very nicely with our food. Overall great experience with a very friendly, courteous, and professional staff. Even the washrooms were gorgeous.
Amy Knechtle: Incredible place to eat. Amazing atmosphere and service was the best I've ever had. Ever. It's expensive but worth every pennyFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Dillon Sharan: The ambiance at the Botanist is unparalleled - it's one of the most beautiful restaurants in Vancouver and a great place to celebrate any special occasion. The food and service are excellent. I ordered the vegetarian dish for my main course and was quite disappointed with the portion size - it was laughably small, fewer than 10 small bites. It's a pricey restaurant and the quality is absolutely up to par but after spending $100 per person, guests should have enough food to be satisfied, not wanting more.
A.M. Wolf: Trendy place to eat, drink, hear live music, and have the valet park your Ferrari.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Monet Beswick: Beautiful room, amazing service. We had the tasting menu brunch and it was really good. The ricotta mushroom toast and the brioche French toast was my favourite ! Really beautiful place for brunch . 10/10
Jennifer Kelly: The brunch at the Botanist is incredible. Service is impeccable. High class. Beautiful setting and lots of bright windows. DJ on the weekends. The brunch menu is the best deal as it includes two cocktails and three courses. Highly highly recommend.
Savannah: Gorgeous interior and even better service!Went with a group of 12 people so we were seated in one of their private rooms with no extra cost. The private rooms have a set 3 or 2 course meal ($65 for 2 courses and $71 for three) the only difference between the 2 and 3 course meal is dessert for the 3 course meal.Excellent service, always tentative to waters sides etc. Food had amazing flavour and unique presentation.I would definitely recommend this place for an upscaled brunch or dinner!
Nicolina Ricciardi: Roland has amazing customer service skills. Food came second to his service (but the food was also delicious)Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Kelsey MacGregor: There’s a reason this place has such an amazing reputation. Incredibly beautiful setting which compliments the service and food. We’ve never encountered such amazing customer service. Very accommodating staff. Best mushroom toast we’ve ever had and the pistachio croissant left us speechless. We will for sure be back and will tell everyone we know to come here.
Ben D: Great place. Comes with mimosas and your pick of cocktail with its 2-3 course meal. Drinks were great and packed a punch. Fair price for the flavour and serving size. The beef tartare was really memorable. Lamb belly poutine was a great mixture of custom French fries with a nice balance of cheese. Eggs Benedict had the right amount of hollandaise and the lobster bumped it to that next level. Dessert met our expectations and were balanced without being too overwhelmingly sweet. Great way to finish off our meal.$71 for the three course which me and my partner had. Was surprisingly filled by the end of it.
Kimberly Stephenson: A week after dining here, I'm still trying to wrap my head around how amazing this place was! The drinks, food, atmosphere-- EVERYTHING exceeded expectations. Even the journey to the bathroom was pleasantly surprising; I found myself lingering at the hallway photography exhibits, and feasting my eyes on the bustling lounge below. There was also a live pianist, whose effervescent fingers doled out jazzy covers to pop songs like something out of a 40's noir film. The lighting was perfect (not too bright, not too dim). It's impossible to say the service was inattentive-- they anticipated every refill, every wanton desire for more oatmeal sourdough bread (which was scrumptious). The other culinary standouts were the lamb shanks/belly (which now rivals bacon for me, lol!) and the sour-cream ice cream for dessert. Be prepared to crave another visit! 😝
Paula Gamio: Toda una experiencia gastronómica, increíble servicio e inolvidables platillos

If Anna: one more favorite restaurant in van. flavors were perfect, i can say they handle the steak better than Vancouver any restaurant, even steak house. // Love the oyster (I’m not in to oysters) but they made it taste like escargots à la bourguignonne, love it!Recommended dishes Baked Pacific Oysters …More
Alex Niculae: The highlight of our trip to Van City. Will def come back again and again
尹涵: The service is very good and can give full marks. The environment is a bit crowded. There are three appetizers and two main dishes. The only thing that tastes delicious is the main course quail, which is full of flavor and seasoned properly. But it’s really not as hype as advertised in Xiaohongshu. The three types of bread before dinner are very ordinary, most of the dishes are salty, and the taste is very ordinary. After two people ordered 250 yuan, they didn’t feel full. The main menu items are too much Less, there is no room for choice if you want to eat more, it is a bit sad. The portion of the appetizer is super mini, and it is thoughtfully matched with a lot of bread for you to taste. The foie gras in the appetizer is really like the packaged foie gras in a French supermarket. It is not delicious and salty. It does not mean to discredit this store. In addition, the partners in the same business can not accept the half-cooked pork chops as the staple food. The meat is only appearance Layer cooked, there is not even a little fiber of cooked meat in it. Steak can be eaten medium-rare, but pork chops are really not daring. Do foreigners eat this way? My friend said the pork chops smelled weird. But fortunately, the restaurant's handling method is in place, and they will also ask if the food is satisfactory, and then cook it for him according to his preference.Thank you. I think everything can be improved. In addition, Quail is really recommended. Unfortunately, it has to be off menu.

Angela Jeffery: The chef menu was a wonderful taste adventure led by many guides. Each remove had its own person who explained the creations. The cocktails were a sensory experience themselves, but the wine pairings with dinner were worthwhile. I appreciated the primarily local ingredients and vineyards. The only thing that detracted from the experience was being out by the windows was a little cool for the dress I wore; a light shawl or long sleeves would have been ideal. The space with all the glass and courtyard was still enjoyable.
C Wong: Practically empty restaurant, claimed not to have space for me at the bar. This happened twice. I guess it doesn’t matter what you do for work and if you don’t dress fancy the hostess deems you not good enough to be there. Go to the Diamond instead. They are waaaaaaayyyyyy more friendly.
Anja Ivica: Went here for a friend's birthday last night - two of us explained to the server that we have dairy sensitivities and were explicitly told by the server that only 1 appetizer and 1 main were available for us to choose from. The server was extremely condescending and rude and said "This isn't really a place that does 'dairy-free'"I explained several times that we were okay with food cooked in butter, but could not eat large amounts of dairy or dishes that have lots of cheese, cream, etc. but she continued to basically berate me about how things are cooked at the restaurant - considering this is a "fine dining" establishment, I'm confused at how it's so difficult to swap out butter for oil or simply serve a dish without cheese. This wouldn't have even be an issue, if the server's attitude had been friendly. Instead, every time she came to our table, she made a point of saying there's basically nothing for me to eat here, and in such a judgmental tone that was dismissive and rude, implying that I shouldn't have even come to eat at the restaurant. For a bill that totaled over $90 per person, while the food was good, the service was atrocious, and I've never been made to feel more uncomfortable at a restaurant in my entire life.Dietary restrictions: Dairy sensitivity - do not accommodate at this establishment
Amber G: Spent $500 on dinner, the manager I guess so he claimed to be was watching us like a hawk the entire time. Rushing our bills as there were other people in the restaurant. Was a very uncomfortable situation having someone act like security watching us eat. I ordered sable dish which was terrible, took a bite and gave it back. He didn’t even care to take it off the bill or exchange it for something else.
Karl Meiser: Nice atmosphere and great employees. As expected, excellent selection of wines as well as several beer and other alcoholic drinks. They have table service but I was part of a group. The spreads provided had a nice mix of cheeses and meats.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Gregg Taylor: I attended a hosted lunch and learn event in a wonderful banquet room in a building down the alley and behind the main restaurant. The Food was amazing and the staff were great. I had a perfect cooked steak and a great tomato/basil soup starter. The dessert was amazing. I’ll definitely keep them in mind for hosting any party or group dinner.
Lysha W: Went here for a celebratory dinner and it was an awesome experience. Had a couple glasses of wine and the steak Diane, would highly recommend! Super flavorful and they were really thoughtful about my lactose intolerance.
Henry Chen: Celebrate my wife’s bday here, it was absolutely stunning.Beautiful interior, super friendly&attentive staff, amazing food and wine, atmosphere was great, it was just perfect.Have to say the bread was so good I had to buy some to go!
Kevin: Had an amazing evening! Thanks for the great host Matthew and the wonderful food by Chef Will!! What a super combo!!!
Arash Salamati: To say going to this place was an experience is not doing it justice. Possibly some of the most incredible dishes that is put together like a painting. Elegant, delicious with great wine options. This is a place you go for a very special occasion. The octopus dish was probably the best octopus dish I've had ever. Also highly recommend the chef special absolutely great setting with 9 dishes to try. The staff are so kind and helpful. Andrew the sommelier had an insane knowledge of practically every item on wine list and great to talk to. Overall excellent experience
Cassandra Anderton: Always exceptional dishes, service and food here. One of the very best in the city. Happy hours are a fun way to try a few menu items. Look for specialty dinners and collaborations for extra fun.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Allan Chow: Amazing food. Probably some of the best I've had in Vancouver.

Tableau Bar Bistro: what do users think?
Thro Iway: Saw a rat run across the restaurantFood was good, chefs do a good jobWaitstaff was really pushy and condescendingDemeaned the women for wanting the fries with the Steak-Frites instead of a saladWhen asked about the difference between 2 types of wine, only said they were bad and recommended the most expensive wine on the menu

Sanj Sukerkar: Love this place. A nice upscale watering hole for drinks after work. Great service and humble folks with zero attitude.Appie choices are limited but overall great ambience. Stopped by for a few rounds of drinks , so ordered mushrooms and French fries to nibble on with a bottle of white wine.
Florence Wong: From the first step into the bistro to the last bite of our entrees I was wowed by the ambiance, service and most importantly the taste of food. This is a casual French bistro that is part of the Loden boutique hotel. The restaurant is divided into the lounge area and the dining room. The lounge was lively and buzzling, while the dining room was quiet and intimate. My friend and I were seated in the dining room.We were greeted by the nicest server with French accent, which actually puts us in the right mood for French cuisine. He started us off with couple fruit liqueurs to stimulate our palette. He then introduced the menu and answered our questions in the menu thoroughly. We ordered couple appetizers and couple entrees to share. We were most surprised by the sweetbread appetizer, which was delicious. The steak tartare was fresh and the crispy potato stacks 😘. I would've liked the tartare a bit more moist and fatty though. Our entrees Coq Au Vin and Bistro Fillet (beef) were also delicious and flavorful. The portions were just right and we were too full to try any desserts.I am definitely coming back for a date night! Thanks for the enjoyable experience.
Donna So: Came here for the heated patio on a gloomy day. Brunch here is so lovely and the staff is so attentive and friendly. We ordered a bunch of things like the croque madame, smoke salmon, crepes and beef tartare. Can’t go wrong with any of these. They make the crepes in front of you and you get a nice char from the flambé.We liked that it was close to the water so we could take a stroll after brunch. It’s on a smaller street so it’s not noisy. There’s plenty of parking space on the streets. Would highly recommend coming here.
Andrea Lo: Impossible for larger parties. We’ve been here several times before and the food is great but it’s been impossible to book for a party larger than 5.Tables larger than 5 cannot make a reservation online so we had to call the restaurant and leave a voicemail for them to call us back. We had to leave two separate voicemails before they call us back. When they finally called back, they took down our name, phone number and email for the reservation but when we arrived on the day of the reservation, they didn’t have us down in the system at all.The 8 of us were looking forward very much to a nice birthday celebration and very disappointed the night of.
M Ha: Food was excellent, and service was great. Foie gras was especially good.
Niall King: Fois Gras Monte Cristo. Amazing!
David Huang: Excellent food with great presentation and atmosphere. Well priced for the quality. I will be returning for sure to explore the rest of the menu!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes French Onion Soup, Profiteroles …More
C AD: Poor service!
Rosa Park: First time trying their Happy hour. The welcoming champagne were provided and our wine selection was great. Oysters was very fresh. Must try their truffles fries.
Erik Johnson: Excellent service and delicious food. Don’t miss the burger.
Wenter S.: Best happy hour I’ve been to in a while! Oysters were such a great deal and fresh and tasty. The mushroom toast is also a must get. And house bubbles = smooth and tasty. Overall super fun restaurant and already planning another visitRecommended dishes Mushrooms on Toast …More
Brian T.: Wow, we were visiting from San Francisco and were blown away by the food here. Went for happy hour and the food and Cremant were fantastic. We ordered 1) oysters which were fresh and sweet 2) the mushroom toast which were so deep, complex, and rich - YUMMY! 3) the Caesar salad which were perfectly balanced and crisp 4) the geoduck parfait which was Smoky and refreshing. What a treat! And the service were fantastic as well. We cannot wait to come back when we’re in Vancouver. Merci!

Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar: what do users think?
Richard Mills: Really good for dinner, really expensive for breakfast.A group of us had an excellent dinner, with great service. Really recommend the seafood tower.Breakfast the next day was $50 for a plate of fruit and 2 poached eggs on sourdough. Really nice eggs, but that’s a lot of money for breakfast.
Victor Lo: Richard gave us an amazing dining experience at the Boulevard. We enjoyed the food and service very much, definitely recommend coming here to celebrate any kind of occasion.
Eliza W: Consistency in Vancouver is rare, but Boulevard found a way!A gem, like their amazingly fresh Atlantic Gems. Best oysters in the city.Food is amazing. Drinks are good.Find ourselves back here weekly.
Stephanie C: Nice ambiance and well presented, tasty food. I had the halibut special which was beautifully presented and prepared well. The seafood tower was impressive though hard to determine which marinated fish was which as it’s dark in there. Nice place but expensive.
Artun Duman: Okay food, bad service
ludmila santos: We went for oyster happy hour, the oysters were great, the shucking was a hit or miss.
brandon m: The food is fantastic and solid service. Hotel restaurants are underappreciated. My eyes took an hour to adjust due to how dimly lit it is. But I'm naturally blinder than a bat. So what's to hate? Also it's across the street from a movie theatre. Dinner & a movie can never go wrong.
Jo B: We got the seafood tower, sour dough bread and some mock tails. Everything was AMAZING. We agreed it was one of the best seafood towers we had ever had. The mock tails were pricy but fun. Overall we had a great evening enjoying some fine dining. Highly recommend.Recommended dishes Fresh Oysters on the Half Shell …More
Arham Newaz: Wow what an experience! We sat at the Gerrard lounge and the ambiance of the whole place really made me feel relaxed. The service is 10/10, there was never a need to look for my server or any lack of hospitality! The servers paid close attention to our needs and made sure they were there at the right time!( Without being overbearing ). The food was amazing, I don't always dine at up-scale restaurants but generally when I do the food would always lack to justify the value. This I can say was not my experience with Boulevard. It was so simply delicious and I can almost wholeheartedly say that their signature burger is probably the top 5 best burgers I had in my life. I will definitely be coming by again!Dietary restrictions: I substituted the burger for no bacon
Jimmy C: Breakfast buffet 3-star, but service is 5-star.
sai iyer: I guess a voice needs to be heard,I BELIEVE that Mr Kris (krishnan) manager on the breakfast front is A PATHETIC MANAGER,an employee I believe I was never given an opportunity to perhaps prove anything of worth. If Vedant didn’t even know that bacon is from a swine, very evident this may actually shock everyone else that it’s RIDICULOUS,proof with ME! IRON CHEF,is absolutely ASTOUNDING with your level of mediocrity, perhaps IMPROVE !
Riaz Ismail: Amazing food, fenomanal service, and a great vibe.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Amara Huntington: The service here is EXCEPTIONAL. Our waitress answered every question we had flawlessly and took care of us in a beautiful manner (I forgot her name but she was Australian). The interior of this restaurant is gorgeous and the menu is 10/10, seafood tower and lamb are both winning dishes. Definitely a spot to return to❤️
Sergey Samotaenkov: Went there during food festival.Nice interior, food was ok but I think pricy for what you get.
Alisha Kara: Amazing food and wine!Great ambiance!!Attentive service!!!Knowledgeable and friendly staff (shout-out to Richardo)!!!!Beautiful experience and would highly recommend for a date night or special occasion!!!!!
m !: tried for the first time, really enjoyed the carpaccio and the banana mille-feuille but the other dishes were alright - hot dishes were not hot.the gerard lounge is a very cool spot, oldschool luxury atmosphere - service was not personable
gino vincenzi: Good bar. Nice ambiance. Proper cocktailsParking: Good
Gunn ONG: I did a 3 night staycation and was there one night for desserts. Our server Jonathan was very attentive and pleasant to speak with. Dessert was amazing.HOWEVER, being a hotel guest at Sutton Place, I ordered room service and the attendant was horrible. I ordered pot of coffee and asked for it to please be delivered to my room. The gentleman immediately commented "you know room service isn't free right?" I answered "yes I know." Didn't think much of it until later in the day. It's a horrible feeling being talked down to like that. I wished I got the gentleman's name
A. I.: Absolutely amazing!! Every dish was delicious! Service was amazing! Daniel is a very talented chef!! HIGHLY recommend dining here.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Florence Wong: I was here celebrating Mother's day on the weekend. We made the right decision to come one week before otherwise we wouldn't have been seated by the window. The view of coal harbour and the snow topped mountains were incomparable and serene. The ambiance and decor was also excellent. Our server was attentive and welcoming. We ordered the $65 pp high tea service which came with a small selection of tea. Certain choices required additional cost. We also ordered a la cart caviar. The variety and portions of food was perfect. We even had left overs!I would've given 5 stars if the tea selection was larger.Overall I'd recommend visiting this restaurant and would definitely come back for other special occasions.
Ali Nematollahi: We went to Five Sails for dinner. First time at Five Sails. My girlfriend has a number of food allergies and the restaurant was very very very accommodating! Food was great, atmosphere was very pleasant.Best of all was our server, Raymond. He was incredibly attentive and a gentleman! He was literally the best server I've ever had to deal with in Vancouver!!We both really enjoyed the restaurant! We will definitely go back again.Parking: Lots of parking lots aroundDietary restrictions: They are very accommodation to dietary restrictions

Joe Kan: Kei the server only in Canada for 6 months from Japan was the best! Knowledgeable and very friendly. My mom's birthday was a blast! Food was on point too!Dietary restrictions: They give you options that accommodates your health style.
david procter: I accompanied my wife and mother to the Five Sails for Afternoon Tea on a Sunday afternoon. What a FABULOUS experience. From the GM Jason to his Greeter and to Jordan our server The staff was warm. Friendly. Knowledgeable and attentive. And hugely welcoming. Thanks so much. The tea started with a wonderful glass of bubbly. Followed by tasty tea I tried the Nutcracker black tea. Flavours of hazelnut and vanilla. Yummy. And the food which followed was exquisite Presentation alone earned outstanding marks. But the variety and flavours and textures of the offerings was outstanding. I even tried some of the caviar Bit of a rookie on that but it was very enjoyable. Definitely worth trying. Neat taste sensationsJason. Thanks so much for hosting the three of us. And to you and your staff. Our sincere thanks. We shall return !!!Cheers. David.
Randy Brown: Ambiance was fantastic, service (Michael) was great and food was extremely good!
Josh Bateman: We went to Five Sails to celebrate our 3rd year anniversary. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived and the hostess accommodated my reservation requests and gave us a great table with the most amazing view of the harbour. Shawn was our Waiter who was very friendly and attentive all evening. Shawn went above and beyond to make sure we both had a memorable anniversary. They surprised us at the end with a happy anniversary dessert. I would highly recommend Five Sails!
CHANEL SATTARA: If I could give this amazing place, view, and the exceptional service more than 5 stars I absolutely would. This the was the best dining experience I've ever had, and I'm a major foodie so that says a lot. The view is breathtaking, the service is so personal and warm, they also have VEGAN options. The drinks and the sorbetto are exceptional. I would come over and over if I still lived in Vancouver. Thank you so much Jason 3
Sahiba Speaks: Honestly this place definitely impressed me. Their customer service was above and beyond. Very loving and make you feel more than comfortable and accepted. Everyone was treated with the utmost respect and love. The customer service they gave us was just incredibly beautiful to the point where I was simply touched. We need more places like you. Thank you for treating us with love and giving us an experience where we want to come back and tell others how amazing you are. The food was fabulous and so were the drinks. I am in love with the drinks... gorgeous... The atmosphere and the energy are just breathtaking. You will leave feeling apreaciated and like a king. We deserve the best and that is exactly what you will get here with class and luxery.
Mark Epik: Great atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and make sure you take advantage of the cocktail menu.
C AnW: good place for dating.
Sabrina L: I absolutely love dinner but recently I came for a baby shower and it was just alright.$65 pp for high tea was a steal, but it was just okay, my favourite was the lobster biegnet.Service though was mediocre at best.We were missing a chair when we arrivedWe had to ask our server 3 x for the tea menu and she seemed not pleased when we didn't all order alcoholWe had order sparkling water but most restaurants would ask before opening the next model but she did not, she literally would top us up after every sip, before you knew it, we were 5 bottles deep between 5 people (wasted full glasses at the end)Asked her twice to take away our food and her timing was just really off for everythingWas less than pleased with her serviceParking: Parking lot was fullTried to valet but there was noneEnded up work street parking $8/hrWe parked for 3 hrs for a total $24

Hawksworth Restaurant: what do users think?
Maya Bourgi: Me and my boyfriend tried the tasting menu. Hands down the best meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Must try! We’ll be back when we visit Vancouver again :)

sekureh: Overall very good experience.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sandy Zhou: Leaving an extra star for the crème brûlée which was actually tasty. The presentation was there, as was the service but everything felt like a twilight zone episode - the appearance of good food but no taste, the appearance of good service but no warmth, the appearance of good decor but no ambience. Honestly felt like I was sitting in an alien spaceship pretending to be a restaurant. The food was extremely bland. I added salt and pepper every bite cause I couldn’t taste anything. Then the service kinda felt like the movie The Menu - incredibly attentive but no warmth. Almost as if management whips employees into a state of docility. And the decor! Expensive I’m certain but I felt like I was sitting in Homesense. What I’m impressed with is how do you charge fine dining prices for something so… cheap? Like dude c’mon I get better service and food at the hole in the wall mom and pop shop down on Davie Street. I pay the same prices at Elisa and Blue Water and they are far better. What’s interesting is we love our Hawksworth cookbook. The recipes in there are super tasty. But what the heck happened to the restaurant? This is our first time and last time.
Can Comertoglu: Good atmosphere and service. Great wine list. Delicious but smaller portions.Overall worth a try if you're in the area.
Niall Jones: Hawksworth is a restaurant that is recommended on various lists, is very expensive and has some awards. In my opinion, the meal/experience here does not live up to any of the above. The food certainly is not bad, in fact it is nice! But is it good enough for you to ever talk about it again? Or recommend to friends afterwards as somewhere they just gotta try? No. It’s fairly lackluster. The restaurant had no vibe, no atmosphere. The food was standard and uninspired, albeit very well made and high quality. The service was friendly but ultimately nothing to write home about.Honestly, save your money and go elsewhere. Our experience was by no means negative but we had so many other way better meals and dining experiences for less money and we felt that dining at Hawksworth represented, disappointingly, money and time that could have been spent elsewhere.
Samantha P: A long standing institution in the city, situated in Hotel Georgia in downtown Vancouver.Hawksworth had a lot of fanfare when first opened, and was one of the restaurants that were top notch and fine dining.Over the year, their reputation has slipped, possibly due to other competitors with similar approaches and style of dining service.I went recently with friends and Hawksworth did not disappoint. However, it also did not impress.Service was thorough and attentive. This is what carries the restaurant to this day, most, in my opinion.Food though is not spectacular. They no longer offer a wagyu beef burger but do have their house burger which is good but runs on the salty side.Decor and restaurant setup are beautiful and great for a date night or special occasion. The food just isn't worth the hype or price.Would return, since mussels are good. They also do a great brownie.
Kathryn Peries: Food was not satisfactory at all and kitchen manager (Dom?) was extremely rude when I complained about my fish smelling like it had spoiledFood: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Bruce Fullerton: Great service and delicious food really enjoyed the night would go back again for sure!
Harry Granger: We had a fantastic evening. Great food and fantastic service from the staff who helped us celebrate our honeymoon. Thank you!
Amir Taghiakbari: Great taste
Jenny Anderson: Had a birthday dinner here.Food was pretty good, but the portion was so tiny.Just beware, order more food if you are hungry^^
Scott A: Lunch was incredible, service was even better. Patrick was one of the best waiters we have ever had. Worth the visit for sure, food and cocktails were all amazing!
Karim Burnaby: Very disappointing. I received a Easter Menu via email. We went specially for the halibut dish and to our surprise they did not have it o. The menu. We showed the assistant manager the Easter special email to honor the the promo. It took 45 min to get our food and they were nit even busy in the dining room. To boot We got chicken instead of halibut Then the manager had the audacity to show us the menu again to indicate there is no halibut on the menuVery disappointed!
V P: First time here, but other than the Caviar, other dishes didn’t impress me. Ribs and lamp shoulder are both too lean in my opinion, even though they are falling apart, but they’re too lean so they tasted very dry, needs a bit more fat to add flavour. The East Coast oysters were even smaller than Kusshi oysters, and I’ve been to the East Cost, most oysters were big and plump. Other dishes were just standard, no wowing factor. Not worth it for the price.
James Koh: Great customer service and outstanding of quality food
K.T.: One of best restaurant in Vancouver and would love to keep coming back. Special thank you to Patrick for treating us extra special and delivering a first class customer service experienced. I highly recommend this restaurant and also look for Patrick and ask him to serve you. He will never disappoint you.

Chambar Restaurant: what do users think?
Mina: Such a great experience. The meal was amazing, the staff were so friendly, and the flavours were top notch.
Veronnica: Absolutely amazing food. They were also very good with my food allergies. Not only was I accommodated I had flavorful and amazing food. Went for brunch, which is hard to get my egg, dairy, and gluten allergy accommodated but it was amazing. They have an amazing gluten free bread, without egg and dairy.Their bacon and apple side was the most incredible bacon I’ve had in forever. Must get.Was told their dinner menu is extremely gluten free, dairy free, and egg free friendly.
Brenda W: Service was very good. However the mussels were so-so. Some mussels were overcooked, some smelled fishy (not fresh), some stringy and some fresh. Not sure what happened.
Sandeep Dhaliwal: Good food.
Kate Blackwood: perfect perfect perfect, what could be improved? absolutely nothing. their waffles? show stopping, met with great service and a cute area. Doesn’t seem too busy either, but it’s always nice to make a reso just incase
Jo B: The moule frites is my favourite dish of all time! A must get. The sour dough is also tasty. I love that they have mocktail options. The vibes inside are fine dining with none of the expectations of that. It’s a really great place to stop for dinner.
Leslie Gilker: Tasty Sunday brunch with the kids. Everything was delicious and finished with their famous waffles and tasty dipping saucesFood: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Lloyd Gerry: Very delicious brunch. The beer selection was wild. Some really amazing European beers. Would recommend!!!Recommended dishes Braised Short Ribs …More
Claire Blair: Dinner here was great, as always. Amazing food, service and ambience. Was expecting to have steak frites but when that wasn’t on the menu we ordered the bison carpaccio and it was sooo good. The Congolese mussels and broth are so delicious and I’m always surprised how many are in there! Very filling. They have such a great liquor menu too, including hard-to-find Belgian Trappist beers, and Fortaleza tequila. Fun to sit at the bar and converse with the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Mark: Moules Frites - Congolaise - Probably the best/freshest/largest mussels I have ever had. Fries were kind of an afterthought and nothing special but would recommend getting a side of sourdough bread so you don't waste all the sauce.
Hyunju Jo: Foooooods are great!!! Wanna visit every quarterly. Because they change the menu quarterly(or seasons?)
Tony Durke: Went to an organized event there on Friday and the service and food and drinks were impeccable. We have been going to Chambar for years and it has never once slipped in its excellence.Everything about the place is gold. I always recommend it to anyone coming in from out of town.

Aimee & Jenna Hobbs: We were in Vancouver this past weekend and went to Chambar Saturday evening for dinner. Our server Dylan was just lovely. She was knowledgeable about the menu and able to help our thirteen year old who is celiac navigate each of the dishes that could be made gluten free. Several people at our table had mussels conglaise and really enjoyed them. My niece and I had the lamb which was delicious and my son had the steak and ate every single bite. We will definitely be going again! Thank you Dylan!
SN: The service here is excellent and food and drinks are really great. Big fan of the shakshuka and waffles with salted caramel.
Leigh McBain: Enjoyed the evening a great deal. It was our first time, had never actually heard of it before. Service was excellent, the food the same and a great vibe. From a price perspective it sits middle of the road - easy to spend more, easy to spend less, but the value proposition was there. We will definitely be going back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Thon Grille, Carpaccio De Boeuf …More
Renée Frenette: Two words: brunch reservations.Need I say more? The food is very good. Very delicious and satisfying brunch options. I find the staff so nice- I really feel that they want to make the experience a good one. It's a go-to for us to bring visiting family and friends.
