I needed an appraisal due to the age, and Monika was diligent in assisting me to get it sorted.If you are making a decision about one of the most expensive items in your household, Monika is the person to trust and work with.

Jennifer Harris: I’ve been delaying getting my engagement ring cleaned and appraised because I was nervous to let it out of my sight. However my ring recently experienced significant damage so I needed to get it fixed to even make it wearable. I searched the internet and saw the amazing reviews for LL Private Jewellers and made an appointment.Right away Monika put me at ease. It became apparent that I would need to leave my ring to get it fixed, and Monika was so understanding and reassuring. She had me take a video of my ring before I handed it to her, and promised to treat it as her own. Although I hadn’t planned on it, she arranged to have it appraised while they had it, so I was able to get that done at the same time. And of course, they cleaned it, checked and tightened all the settings and replaced a missing diamond.It took a week, and I was shown my ring under a microscope to see the GIA inscription on the diamond, to confirm that it hadn’t been switched out. My ring looks brand new and the cost was very reasonable. Above all, Monika made a very stressful experience much more tolerable. All the positive reviews are true. Do not hesitate to see Monika at LL Private Jewellers.

Nicole Comey: I had my engagement ring resized, retipped and cleaned last year and LL Private Jewellers did a great job. They only had my ring for a couple days so the turnaround time was amazing. Monika was such a pleasure to work with and made some great recommendations on where to get my wedding band. The resizing was difficult as I have a couple balls on the inside of the band to keep it from spinning around so Monika had let me know if the fit wasn’t right to contact her. I reached out recently as I tested the sizing out in all seasons (my finger size fluctuates!) and it overall still felt too big. Nicole Hatty: Bought earrings that are supposed to be gold plated for my daughter. After wearing them 12 hrs both ears had cracked, bleeding skin. Definitely not good enough quality to be called gold plated.
Hannah Xu: I visited today with my mom, and the staff were super nice. It’s a cute little store, with a beautiful display of unique jewelry. There were many local artists and a wide selection of necklaces, bracelets, and more! My mom and I spent an hour picking stuff out, and the worker was so patient. She helped us go through the options, and made great recommendations as well. We ended up purchasing a pendent and chain. Will definitely visit again!
mt145: I like the variety. Well priced and high quality products. The service is also very good. You can have a small budget going in and be satisfied. Or if you are willing to break the bank, you can as well. The only feedback is after going in every other month, I feel the products look and feel the same and haven't had many new styles or new artists. But this is small and minor feedback on top of the overall good service they provide.
Tina Kim: I was very disappointed with their customer service. A lot of items were on sale, and I asked a lady there how much a necklace was with the sale price applied, and the answer I got was "I don't know. I am not so good at math." And when I was torn between two necklaces, I asked the same lady which one was more popular and she replied to me, saying "they both are popular.", and that was it, no more explanation added and I got the impression that she did not want to talk to me anymore. Also, it seemed like the sales people there looked more interested in chitchatting with each other than dealing with customers, and I felt not welcomed while being there. I still wanted to be polite and said thank you, but the lady who "helped" me did not even say "good bye" or 'Thank you" back. I guess customers would want more professionalism from sales people in such jewelry shops?

Sophia Kim: Extremely disappointed with the service at this location. I walked in 10 minutes ago with my sister, hoping to buy jewelry for an event. The women at the counter looked at us, then continued talking to each other, despite us waiting due to the "wait to be served" sign. We walked in regardless, and not a single employee acknowledged us nor asked if we needed any assistance. I saw many cute pieces, but even when I had pointed these out loudly to my sister, the employees continued chatting amongst themselves.We were in the store for about 10 minutes when another customer walked in, and the blonde employee greeted her with a cheery "Hi, how are you? What can I help you with?" while we were still being ignored. At this point, I was so frustrated and offended and I decided to leave. The employees at the Metrotown location are much more professional but after this experience at the Robson location, I'm definitely reconsidering even going to Blue Ruby in the future.

Overall, the service was very unkind and we felt so unwelcome in the store. Not happy about this experience and will not be returning to buy jewelry there.

Throughout the process, Jorin provided his expertise and was accommodating to the indecisiveness that comes with making a ring. Jorin answered our questions promptly and was able to provide mock-ups and other suggestions when asked. Can’t recommend Cavalier and especially Jorin enough, truly a wonderful experience and we love the result!

Peter made an overwhelming experience very smooth and enjoyable with his knowledge and expertise. Peter is a great communicator and he was able to make the final product within the budget I had set out. The final product turned out even better than I could have expected. I was looking for a pair of larger gold hoops and I found a pair that are lightweight and very comfortable. Harling’s is worth a stop in if you need service or are looking for a new stylish piece. We had a piece of terribly tangled jewelry and it was very frustrating. They were patient and managed to untangle it for us as well. I forget the name of the gentleman that helped us but he made our day! We will definitely be back next trip to Vancouver.

As someone with no previous experience/knowledge and a relatively modest budget, Harling's was exceptional to work with. He instilled confidence throughout the entire process from consultation, through to fabrication and pickup. C-Note 604: As someone that came in with zero knowledge about diamonds and purchasing jewelry in general, I was pretty nervous to start this process. Thankfully, Peter at Harlings made the process quite simple and eased my worries. He quickly found a diamond that would work with my budget, while also explaining the technical sides of diamond purchasing in a relatable manner, such as the difference between lab and mined diamonds. The only information that I had was that my fiancee liked oval shaped diamonds and yellow gold as a band colour. Peter was able to take this information and craft a beautiful ring. We were also able to come under what I had initially budgeted, which is a big plus.I wasn’t able to provide peter with a proper size, but peter assured me that each purchase comes with a free sizing. After I had proposed we came in and had her finger properly sized, and now it fits perfectly.I would recommend Harlings to anyone that is beginning to look for an engagement ring as it was simple and affordable, and came with great, personal customer service.

I was so inlove with almost every ring available at their shop. I like the design, the quality, and the entire look of their rings. Jasleen Kalsi: Every Blue Ruby I've been to has been a welcoming and helpful experience. This location is a different story. The 4 people staffed were too busy huddled around the table and talking rather than acknowledging me or asking if I would like to see something. I was there for a good bit of time too, very disappointing, I was ready to buy a gift for my sister but this turned me off. I went to Mejuri instead.
Sarah Guy: Angelina has helped me on several occasions. She provides wonderful customer service and always seems to know exactly what I am looking for based on my vague descriptions. Very impressed by her!

Today, went there again but had a terrible experience and would give one star (but giving two cuz have amazing experience prior). I was helped by TD(her Initials) and was given lots of attitude by her. Asked her to open the necklace for me but she said to do it myself cuz she couldn’t because of the massive nails she had on(maybe don't wear long nails if you work in a jewellery store). In the end, we asked for a bag for the pendant and she rolled her eyes. We went out to try the pendant but couldn’t figure out why it wasnt locking in. When we went back in, she said they can do their best to replace it… I mean I was just outside the store for 2 minutes and you are treating me like a stranger.Anyways always had a great experience and amazing products, just this time was very frustrating. If you could please let the employees know that they need to be friendly to keep the your amazing business running. Won’t be coming here again even tho will be missing out on your great products.
Angela Parkins: One of my new favorite treasures in Vancouver. I came into the store absolutely clueless on how to layer and style pieces of jewelry together, i’m very new to the jewelry scene. Angelina was the girl who helped me find pieces that would fit my style and even took the time to show me how to layer my necklaces together. She was super helpful, informative and a genuine sweetheart, it is always nice to be served by someone so warmly especially during the busiest time of the year. I will without a doubt be returning to this location soon.

There were barely any customers in the store and they are still not able to provide good service. I woul have probably bought something if I wasn’t scolded so rudely. 2 stars because there is some nice jewellery. 1 star for service and rude staff.

Sara Mia: I gave this jewelry store a second chance since my first time was no great. I bought small hooped earrings that were 14k hollow gold and wore them for 2 weeks. I was swimming (without a cap) and went to check on them after a length and one of them had broken in half... My hair had possibly caught in it or something but that is ridiculous. My first experience I bought a pair of expensive 14K earrings but the store clerk did not mention that the butterfly back was copper coated in gold. I am allergic to any metals besides surgical steel so my ear got infected after 3 days and the butterfly back had turned black. One of the jewels had fallen off as well. They handled the interaction really well and gave me my money back but it seems the jewelry quality is not the best.
Joanne Wong: I’m rarely ever acknowledged or even helped but this past experience was especially egregious. One of my opal earrings turned transparent and no longer a beautiful milky colour. I was told by an employee that she can’t do anything about it. After asking if I could avoid this happening in future she said no, and repeated that she can’t do anything to help me. I left without an apology.There was another instance where an earring had dropped and some of the plastic gems came off (this pair was worth ~$150). I was within their return policy but was told I had to pay to get new gems put in and it would take a few weeks to ship it out to the manufacturer.In short, I will not be returning to these unsympathetic people ever again. I’d much rather spend my time where customers are valued.

Booking an appointment with Harold was very efficient – he replied to my emails quickly. I had no idea which ones are genuine or fake, let alone their value. I booked four hours for appraisal because of the quantities. Harold was extremely knowledgeable, professional and very thorough. Four hours went by very quickly while he demonstrated his knowledge and answered any questions I had. I left his office with peace of mind and felt confident in his appraisal. I also realized Harold was very knowledgeable not just about gems, but also pearls, precious metal etc. So I made the second appointment with Harold shortly after and turned out I had more valuable items. He was also very knowledgeable about unbiased way of auction and provided me with information, which was on my next agenda but seemed daunting.
