Gene Tang: Great choices! Supposedly, it is the biggest Indian buffet in North America. They have goat and lamb, which I enjoy. Who doesn't like all you can eat, naan? Buffet food is buffet good! Shubham Gaur: Well there are so many good reviews but i want to share my own worst experience i have ever had in my whole life.I ordered take out of 12 people, first of all it was late because we already told them that we have a flight to catch and even if we forget that how can you forget the worst service which makes you feels like a vomiting.The server at the front was ever charge us for the complimentary disposable spoon and plates and not even that she called someone and asked about the price of napkins like seriously my god,If guys can not provide the disposable which every restaurant do just next time put everything directly in customers mouthSo disappointed service.And it wasn’t enough for the day, i guess worst time never leave you alone sooner.When we took the food we asked server to double check and we got in a park where my whole family was waiting for food because they didn’t have anything from the morning3 packages were missing and when we called they were rude and sad you forget here seriouslyI am requesting to the manager please check you cameras footage than she only handed us 3 packages and inside 3 daal were missingHow were we supposed to eat the rice aloneWe couldn’t do anything because they blocked our number and we also had a flight to catch.But telling you one thing my whole family didn’t eat anything for a whole day because they came form india to visit and can’t eat outside food but you guys seriously gave us a pain that we can not forgetWorst restaurant ever!!!
Shilpa Sharma: My experience with this restaurant is very very poor . I am from Edmonton. My family visited from india so I bring them to Vancouver to make good memories. On last day of my trip we were on Granville island, we ordered food for our lunch . Girl on counter did not gave us full order . I ordered 3 daal and 2 mix veg dish , we waited extra 30 min for our food . We didn’t received 3 daal order . We waited more than a hour and ending up having only naan and rice. I called back and talk to girl who was serving , she hang up on me . She said we did not pick up 4th bag , but truth is that she never hand over that to us . She was very very rude , she don’t bother to apologize . My family from India was very upset too. Anyone will upset if you order food waiting for it and did not receive it.we paid full amount of money to food which we never received . So my big No this restaurant. Very bad service.
Tarun Sharma: Worst Indian Restaurant in Vancouver. It is not just a bad experience it is reality. The way of treating customers reflects it. We had a take out of about 150$. First of all it was late even though we were in expected time then, We asked that everything is in there place because we have to catch flight later on and we don’t have time to even check everything. We left for restaurant and when we started eating it there was only rice nothing else we paid for everything. But still nothing in the bags. Moreover, we called the restaurant to let them know about there mistake. They talked rude and even blocked the number. We will not be going there ever again and will suggest everyone to stay away from them.

I have been ordering from New India as my regular takeout place for at least a year now. I have been ordering the same thing every time: 2 lunchboxes, 1 veg, 1 non-veg. Every single week. It's gotten to the point where the staff recognizes me by name and knows my order. Like I said, great service. The value is incredible, and the food has been top-notch. My girlfriend (from India) has said that this is the best Chana Masala she has ever had in her life.Now to the reason for my review. They recently changed something, within the past month or so. New chef, new recipes, I'm not really sure, but the taste has completely changed. The chana has much less flavour and tastes watery, the butter chicken tastes plain, and this goes for a lot of the curries that we were eating with the thali. It's truly a shame, because I loved the atmosphere and the service in this establishment, and I looked forward to the treat of Friday night takeout from New India. With this change I'm not sure if I'll continue. I've been actively looking for a new takeout spot, but what I'd love most is for New India to return to their original flavors.

Apoorva Sharma: I wish i could give less than one star. Please don’t be fooled by the reviews of this place. The reviews said that food was fresh and good quality but that was not the case. I went there for lunch, the naan’s were not fresh. The desserts were stale except for the gulab jamun. There was no flavour in the curries, everything tasted the same. The food was cold!!I told our server almost all of our food was not fresh and he said we should have told him to get the fresh items we wanted. I don’t think its fair, if they see customers are eating they should bring our fresh food. One of the fruit was not restocked and I heard a lady tell the server thrice to refill it but they didn’t. I was so excited to go to this place but it was quite disappointing. Maybe I went at a wrong time but I would suggest you to save your money.

gail gin: The price has gone up ($75 pp) this year but I feel that the food options and quality have gone down. The seafood /cold platters used to have so many more options and were freshly prepared - snow crab legs used to be super flavourful and meaty but now the quality of the seafood isn't as fresh. The desserts are so miniscule now that its probably more effort to make the in these tiny "bite" sizes than what its worth.

Rosario: As a fellow Canucks season ticket holder , I’ve been able to enjoy the captains room twice , and the food is amazing they have 3 stations to choose from prime rib , rotating table (the nights I went one day was short rib and the other night was Korean fried chicken) and a dessert tableable to keep your personal belongings at your seat during the game and come back during intermission5-7 they have hot and cold food and desserts1st intermission just cold food and desserts2nd intermission just desserts and they have a small bag of popcorn waiting for you at your tableI’ll def being back in toe foreseeable future , hopefully one more time this season
Maureen Seguin: We had a great experience celebrating our daughter’s birthday. Our server Eddie was amazing especially with both our kids (2 year old and 8 month old). Speaking as a mom, I was very pleased that they had high chairs and a family washroom just steps away. The food as top notch and they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything. The service was beyond our expectations and we would definitely do it again with the kids. Thank you to the team at the Captain’s Room for making our daughters 2nd birthday a unforgettable evening.

James Gill: The food here is top notch. Everything is done carefully down to the smallest detail. I especially appreciated they way they made their own seafood cocktail sauce from scratch. The prime rib as succulent and the king crab legs were split for easy access. The service is the best thing about the place. You are treated like royalty here. I had a coffee waiting for me at the end of the second period. Our server and the chef prepared my wife a gluten free vegan desert platter. A night to remember.

Alym Amlani: Incredible food. We don't eat pork, and they were carving the prime rib with the same knife as the roasted pork. When we asked the chef if he could cut a piece for us with a different knife, he did one better - he brought us three huge pieces plated, right to our table. Amazing service, great ambiance, and a rare treat when watching a Canucks game.

Felix N.: Tried the signature lobster roll yesterday. The meal you get looks amazing but its taste didnt live up to my expectation. I'm sorry to say but for me it was average at best.

Theresa Abraham: Visited Granville and had to try the lobster roll. Got the Connecticut lobster roll. Which was $25, which was a bit pricey. But the brioche bun, and butter lobster was worth it. It came with ruffle potato fries. Not much for seating so get it to go and find one of the many near locations to sit and enjoy. Also make sure to grab plenty of napkins, you will need them.
Angus: A satisfying lunch experience here trying out the signature lobster and crab rolls.The lobster filling was fresh and tasty on a brioche roll. A nice balance between the meat, dressing and bun.My friend said that the crab roll was OK but a little to creamy (too much dressing) to really taste the crab.Both are served with very nice crinkle cut salted chips in a box that you can eat out of.Not the cheapest lunch but decent value for money for the area.Very few seats here and its not exactly an attractive part of Granville Island, however, there's lots of nice places with public picnic tables great views close by, by the marina, at the back of the market or by the sea wall.If you choose the sea wall at the moment, you'll see lots of geese and goslings.

Victor Yang: I come here to buy their fresh oyster only. The quality has always been great and prices are reasonable. Royal miyagis are currently at $1.35 per piece if you buy a dozen and the oysters are sizeable. Parking is a pain at Granville Island but unless you are here for some walk, you can probably just park near the store and quickly buy some to go without paying.
Wifey&Hubby: We got a Connecticut Lobster sandwich. It could use more lobsters for the price... And the chips were basically from Costco.

K Cee: They still have carts, which is great if you want to eat once you get seated. Everyone is super attentive and quick. What really shocked me was the price of the green beans dish and vegetable soy sauce noodles. Both came from one of the carts. You'd never guess the price... And since I couldn't read the receipt as it's written in Chinese or says "kitchen" I was thrown aback. I had to ask and the host confirmed the price. (Only found out once we went to pay).......$32 for a mediocre sized dish of green beans and $29. for a medium sized dish for the soy noodles. (There's NO meat in these dishes. Even if they put crab in there, that might have justified the price). I thought maybe if I had my Asian parents with us and my family, maybe the prices would have been different.Just beware!! Otherwise, food is delicious and the service is outstanding.Bathrooms- typical of an Asian restaurant. IYKYK

When it was brought to our table, everyone initially thought it was a plate of fries due to its appearance. To our delight, each "fry" revealed tender, perfectly cooked calamari encased in a crispy, golden batter.Another standout item was the Baked Tapioca Custard, which quickly became a major hit with both kids and adults at our table.The staff at Pink Pearl are another reason why this place has earned its reputation. Even when the restaurant is bustling on a Sunday lunch hour, they manage to provide good service, regularly checking on tables, coming by with carts full of new surprises, and ensuring customers are happy.As for practicality, Pink Pearl has ample parking, and they accept Interac, which is not always a given at Chinese restaurants.I'd recommend the Pink Pearl to anyone looking for a tasty meal and a classic dining experience. And hey, if you end up ordering too much, just ask for a box - the leftovers taste just as good the next day!

She didn’t come to even take our drink order before going to take a table of 16’s food and drink order. Our two person order would have been very quick. After this she went and billed out another table before finally coming to take our order. Nicole Harpold: Weird and disappointing. We stayed at the hotel and we’re so excited when we checked in to see a waterfront restaurant right at the hotel. After wandering all afternoon around Granville Island and shopping, we were looking forward to dinner on-site. At check-in we even received a promo coupon for a “chef’s choice” happy hour appetizer, happy from 3pm - 5pm. We walked into the restaurant at 4:40 and were seated no problem, they even had a high chair for our toddler, no problem. We put our order in for our promo appetizer, plus two other happy hour appetizers to share as well as 2 cocktails at 4:45. Waitress brought our drinks and our first appetizer (marinated olives) no problem. About 5 minutes later (4:52 by my watch). Waitress came out and apologized, and said our order had been cancelled by the kitchen because happy hour was over. Excuse me? You still have happy hour menus in the table, the signs and the cards you hand out to guests all day until 5pm, but at 4:45 the kitchen starts cancelling orders? Okay. Check please, we’ll take our business elsewhere. One star for the nice view and the very apologetic waitress who was highly embarrassed by all of it.

We didnt get side plates when our appetizers arrived and we were starving so we ate it right then and there with no plates to share. She didnt even ask how our food was until she gave us the bill to pay. We asked for refils but they came 10 minutes later. She took our napkins away when she took our appetizer plates away and didnt give us new ones. My mom ordered clams (which were delicious) and she sat there for 20 minutes with no eyes on our server to get a napkin. It turned out to be so cold so we asked for a blanket and she took 10 minutes to get that. We asked to sit at a table that wasnt wobbly. I even said if its a big issue we can stay its no problem but she totally avoided the question and never came back woth an answer whether we could or couldnt move. For a dinner that was 300+ $ especially on mothers day it was such a disappointment to have a server that seemed to not care. We asked about 2 other servers to get us our bill because we couldnt find victoria and they all said theylle be right there but then go to their pos system and then walk right away far away from us. I understand we might have been annoying and asked for too many things but its expensive eating out and we want everything to go perfect. We most likely will never go back to this restaurant just because of the service we received.

Joel McCooey (The Tough Critique): We decided to dine here since we we’re staying at the Granville Island hotel. First impressions were good and the service staff were attentive. The first plate we had was the Wagyu Beef Carpacio. This was delicious and well plated. Accompanying this plate was the smoked olives these were very good although only some of the olives on the plate were smoked. Ok, good start. The mains were overall lacklustre in all ways. Lacking in presentation, flavour and overall composition. I can guess that this could only be attributed to the fact that cooks in a kitchen are only as good as their training. Perhaps if there were just a little more over the shoulder looking by the head chef these plates would come out cleaner. I will say that whoever wrote the menu did a fantastic job. i did want to order everything on it.

Lisa: Celebrated my bday here early April and had a pleasant experience with my sons. Food was tasty and fresh. Oysters were delicious but a pricey at $5 a piece and they were tiny. Not sure what kind of oysters. Truffles on the pasta was quite expensive, I didn’t realize. Service was friendly and prompt. Nice if you can get a window seat. But walk outside of the restaurant by the water is refreshing.

I should have spoken up but we were a group of 8 and we were excited to see each other for the gathering and I didn't want to make a fuss.And of course it happened while we were there, 2 big deliveries to the kitchen, and they open that exit doors to the outside at least 6 times, it was freezing cold the whole time we were there and our food got cold even before we ate it. And frankly the food was not as good as before. We will not be going back to the Vancouver location any time soon.
