Mason Sewing Machine: what do users think?
Anahita Tanzif: They are helpful and knowledgeable.
Kiki Shilpa: I am from Kiki’s Luxury furniture,,, We go there first time,,, all staff was very good 👍🏻 we will like to give them 1000 stars ✨ because they were very helpful,, there are Vandana ,Mark and Berry very nice people.
Ruth Marzetti: I purchased my Presto II from this shop, they were very helpful and took a lot of time going over the machine. I have had it for a year, they are doing the first annual service free. They are helpful when I asked advice about quilting, they gave me resources and ideas. The staff are extremely generous with their time in ensuring you purchase the right product and have lessons and resources to get the most out of your machine. I am very satisfied and highly recommend this shop. Thanks!
Elly Fenton: Was very disappointed to drive all the way to the Store to see that walk ins not accepted. This is not on the initial site information. The hours and address are listed so I didn't feel I had to go on to the actual website for further information, This should be FIXED !! so others don't make the treck there for nothing.
Janyce Eakins: Since 1991 I have purchased several machines from Masons. Always 1st rate service. Staff always helpful & patient. Marc you are the best. ThanksJanyce
pınar özcan: The staff here were always kind to me whenever I visited them. They had to fix my sewing machine twice. They sell basic sewing equipment, too. I was suspecting that I was not using suitable needles fo different fabric types. They answered all of my questions patiently and gave very detailed information. I cannot thank enough. Highly recommended.
Janene Preston: My machine was jerking on and off while sewing when barely touching the foot pedal. Dropped off machine along with foot pedal and cord and explained the issue in full to associate at the door. While I appreciate I dropped off during COVID and safety was of utmost importance, I was handed back the foot pedal and cord as they said they didn't need mine to fix. I picked up the machine and was informed it was fixed! It was not - issue persisted. I (a layperson) searched the internet and found that the issue was the foot pedal! Wow - maybe some questions could be asked first before I laid out $120 to this company to fix a sewing machine that wasn't broken!
Heaven Neal: Was good. They answer all the questions I have. When it comes to sewing machines it is the first place you wanna go to.
Patricia V: I would like to give a huge shout-out to Mason’s Sewing Machines and their wonderful staff. It is my go-to establishment for the best customer service. A few weeks ago, we went in to purchase a BabyLock Accomplish sewing machine. I am a huge fan of specialty machines and this one did not disappoint. Vandhana was amazing and so patient, knowledgeable, and fun. During this time with lockdown, she arranged an appointment for us. We stayed for almost four hours as we had so many questions and were able to work on the machines with excellent guidance. As a new small business owner, I appreciate the care and attention she gave us. Thank you so much.
Kris E: I bought my wife a juki du-1181 from here last week and she loves it. Marc was very helpful and friendly, I will be shopping here again. Thank you so much for the incredible machine and service!
Gord Linder: These guys are a pleasure to deal with. Had a small issue with my industrial machine. Mark took the time to understand the issue and had me back up running quick! Can't recommend enough!
Jim Purvis: These people really care about their customers. They remembered a request from two years ago and came through with flying colours.
Traylynn Ingram: Very informative communication towards how things needed to work safely with my Juki...Thank you so much!!!
Cara Tull: We had an incredible experience in this store! The sales clerks were amazing at their jobs, they showed us demonstrations on the type of machines we were looking for, they let us test them out, gave us space to talk about our decision and yet were available for asking any questions. We weren’t sure we were going to make a purchase today, but the amazing service helped us commit and we found a sewing machine over and above what we expected to!
Nayyer Souzanchi: Thanks for very good service
Bria Yelland: We have our industrial machines services here and have always been happy with the service provided.
Martin Johnson: Great service - very helpful.
Michelle K: I called looking for a replacement part only to have the women on the phone speak down to me like I was a child calling me a 'silly little girl'
Kelly Kochut: Love this place. They are the best. A wealth knowledge about sewing. Great machines and prices. Customer service A++.
Warren Kane: Very helpful found us what we needed. Will be going back for sure.
Maddy S.: They answered my email query right away, when I phoned for a follow up they answered politely and got me an appointment right away. They had a very particular and crucial part immediately on hand and had the expertise to install it perfectly for me. The price was extremely reasonable and I couldn't be more happy with the service I received. Thanks to your whole team, and Betty in particular!

Pfaff Sewing Centre Of Vancouver Ltd: what do users think?
Diane Whitehead: As of April 17 2023, Still no repair completed on this machine. You would thing that after 3+ years someone would make an effort to get this machine repaired or even respond that the cannot do the work. WORST service in the world! My sister has been waiting for her sewing machine to be repaired for 2 YEARS!! She has been to the store on more than two occasions to pick up the machine, 'supposedly ready' and still does not have her machine. The latest (last two weeks) is that it has been repaired but doesn't work and they have no idea when it will be repaired. Be aware when taking your machine to this location for electronic repair. If they don't have the ability to repair the machine they should say so! They seldom answer the phone and leaving a message is impossible as the mailbox is always full. Occasionally, they will cal you back. She wants her sewing machine back!
Kelsey H: Exceptional service. Kind and thorough! Couldn’t recommend them more.
Joline Rath: The staff here are kind, knowledgable, and helpful. I've purchased a new sewing machine, a used serger, and an iron here. Fantastic customer service both on the phone and in person. Will be back!
Susan Jung: Amazing customer service! Friendly, knowledgeable and truly happy people work here. Sabine is the consummate teacher who is always kind and patient and will answer any questions you have with her excellent repertoire of sewing knowledge. This is the place to go if you have questions about machines, repairs, sewing etc. If you see James there, he knows everything in the industry and is more than happy to help with a smile! This a business I trust and is the only place I bring my Pfaff machine to service. I will be back. Thanks so much for the excellent job on fixing my Pfaff sewing machine!!
Ann Loth: There is basically no way to contact this store. If you call, they don't answer, and the voice-mail is full. Their Facebook page doesn't allow messages or public comments. Their "website" is their Facebook page.
Andre_58_Hockey: This experience incetified me to consider more local shops when purchasing specific goods.Great and reliable service at Pfaff's on Granville. I had an issue with my machine...no questions asked and they gave me a new one. The owner even gave me some durable thread and a box of needles for my hockey gear free of charge. Buy local instead of Amazon!! No regrets! One happy customer left this neighbourhood shop.
Mark Fofo: I’ve known this shop and this family for years. I’m in the industry and they are terrific.I wish I could select more stars.
CellF CARE: Hanna, the lady that helped teach my wife and I about the sewing machine we bought there was awesome. Very patient, explained set-up procedures in detail, etc. She is definitely an asset to that business. Thank you, Hanna. Keep up the great work.
Charmagne Gibb: Friendly, knowledgeable and no pressure sales. A family run business who take great care of their customers.
MARIA ANGELICA BOTERO VERA: the best service, I can found all I was needing
Odessa Cadieux-Rey: I don't know what they're like if you have a Pfaff machine but they're unhelpful and snobby if you don't. I went in once to ask if they did repairs on other brands and they just said "we're Pfaff" and nothing else. Ok... bye then. Then when my partner phoned to ask the same, they said no and ended the call without any advice or referral. Well I won't be going there if I ever do want a new machine.
Barbara Cochran: I called from the Sunshine Coast & Sabine arranged for repairs on a day I would be in the city. I was able to return in the afternoon to pick up my Pfaff 1199 before going to the ferry. I was very happy with the service & the repair. My 41 year old sewing machine is working like the day I bought it (I broke it myself so no reflection on the brand's durability).
Chloe: Contacted this store multiples times to try and source a missing part for my machine. Each time they said they would get back to me and then never did. They told me the manufacturer was closed due to Covid but after contacting a different Pfaff retailer I found out that the manufacturer had reopened and that this store had lied to me about it being "closed until further notice" in order to avoid helping me with my simple problem. If you need help with your Pfaff do not bother going here, instead contact A Great Notion or Castle Sewing Center, they are much friendlier and actually willing to help you.
PHILLIP LOW: love this shop. they sell quality products. knowledgeable staff.
Katharine Casey: I searched and searched Vancouver for a sewing store where it felt cozy and welcoming. Pfaff on Granville hit the mark. Sabine and crew are friendly and helpful. I bought my Pfaff sewing machine and couldn't be happier. And when I wanted to upgrade - no problem. They took back the machine I had bought a few months earlier and I only had to pay the difference in price to get the fancier machine. And when I had questions about the machine (the different razzle dazzle things it could do) - again, no problem. Sabine hosted me in store for a free lesson and has answered my many emails and phone calls with instructions and helpful tips and tricks. My friends have now bought their sewing machines from Pfaff and are too enjoying the fantastic service and help.
Charlie Dan: Very helpful
Michelle Schnittker: A great shopping experience . Excellent customer service . Sabine was awesome and patient when I was trying out different sewing machines . Vast selection of different sewing machines . Store is highly to recommend
Connie Freitas: I took my kenmore machine in because it wasn't sewing properly. Customer Service was very friendly but they kept my machine for quite a while and they lost my extention cord. I paid for their work (hours) but the issue was not fixed. Not going there again.
Tina Hollands: So pleasant and knowledgeable!
Tess Singson: Was referred to this store by a Dressew staff when I asked about presser foots. Did not find what I need, and the staff did not suggest any other place I could go to.
Deborah Wilson: Meh. Ordered a hoop for my embroidery machine. Months later still no hoop, no calls from the store to explain why. Not happy with the customer service.

Euro Tech Sewing Machine Repair: what do users think?
alida: I've brought my Janome for a tune-up twice and it is always great service. His prices and time frames are reasonable, affordable, and his priceless advice is free!! Great guy! Highly recommend his services!
earth2k8: Over the past year, I have brought three machines to Eurotech for servicing/repair, and each time I have been very happy with the result: excellent work at a good price, with some helpful advice thrown in.
Heather Gunn: Wei Hin is amazing—a highly skilled tradesperson with a truly honest and kind approach to business. It’s rare nowadays to be able to find someone who knows their craft so well, clearly cares about what they do, and also cares about being transparent and trustworthy to his customers.I inherited my mom’s old Bernina that had been in storage for 20 years and while it worked OK I knew it needed a good tune up, and based on positive reviews I decided to take it to Euro Tech. Wei Hin has a real reverence for well-built machines and was able to immediately identify out-of-date or since-improved parts, but didn’t pressure me to upgrade them if I didn’t want to, which I always appreciate. He also took the time to share tips and best practices and to have genuine interactions with me during pickup and drop off. Because he’s so good at what he does, the wait was a while—a month or so—but he was up front about that and was able to predict the turnaround remarkably well. His prices also felt extremely fair given his level of expertise.I got my machine back yesterday and I honestly can’t believe how much better it runs—it feels like a new machine! I can’t imagine bringing my Bernina anywhere else as long as he’s in business.
Brenda Koch: I would always choose to bring my machines here. Efficient and thorough.
Carolyn B: Very professional and knowledgeable. I appreciate the tips on the best ways to care for my older (but still awesome) machine. Came highly recommended by a high school textiles teacher.Your machine will be in excellent hands for servicing or repairs!
Karen van der Hoop: I have had 2 older model sewing machines serviced here and am so pleased with service, suggestions and honesty that may not be repairable due to age. Both serviced and also gave excellent sewing tips.
jean whitehead: So happy with the service at Euro Tech. I really trust Wei Hin with my sewing machine. Wouldn't take my machine anywhere else. Thanks so much
Katy Fuerderer: Wei Ng is undoubtedly an expert in sewing machine repair and preventative maintenance. He takes the time to explain the problem and how to prevent issues in the future. He provides clear pictures and details on what he repaired and if you need any accessories such as bobbins or needles he has them on hand to provide to you. I have recommended his services to friends and family and will definitely be using his services in the future. It was a truly a pleasure meeting and dealing with Wei!
Ruby Rudd: Thankyou Wei Hin, I am absolutely delighted with the repairs on my Singer Featherweight sewing machine. Excellent job, great service, reasonable price. I could not be more pleased. Ruby
Maria Palma: I was very happy at how easy and efficient the whole process of getting my serger fixed was. I would definitely recommend this service.
Penny Rea: My 40+ year old Kenmore is humming again.
Julie Schneider: Knowledgeable, professional, very reasonable - fantastic!
Jane Edwards: EuroTech has done a superb tune up on my ancient Bernina. Wei's knowledge and expertise means he can fix issues even if the original parts are not available. Once again my machine is running smoothly and beautifully. Even though I am several hours outside Vancouver, it is totally worth driving in to have Wei repair/tune my sewing machine. Absolutely recommend EuroTech!
Aussie Girl: I just picked up my Pfaff 1467 sewing machine. My machine was in a sorry state when I brought it in. Wei was awesome he notified me of things that were wrong and gave me details and costs of how much it was to repair. Wei sent me photos of the things that were broken or needed fixing. I 100% would take my machine back to Euro Tech sewing machine repairs. I have just finished making a baby top and it is like sewing with a brand new machine.
Sharon Quan: I am very happy I found Wei to repair my Bernini 240 as top technicians are difficult to find. He repaired my needle threader and adjusted the tension as well serving the the machine thoroughly. He was very professional and efficient as well charging a reasonable fee. I would not hesitate to refer him .
Raquel Schmutter: Great service at EuroTech. Reliable service and clear communication. Wei Hin even offered me sewing tips during pickup. 100% recommend.
Gwen Kornak: Great experience, my sewing machine is better than it ever was! Very knowledgeable about sewing, helped point out things I didn't even realize I was doing wrong. Able to complete my project now just in time for fan expo.
Karen Lam: Amazing service — well worth the wait. I had my Janome sewing machine and serger both serviced and now they are clean, calibrated and probably better than new! Thank you!
Jordan Ou Yang: Great and prompt service, helped set up my singer 328K
RJF: Sewing machine mechanic extraordinaire! He’s helped so much.
Ande Van der Weken: Excellent service!I didn’t think my machine could be repaired as it had seized completely. Was referred to Euro Tech by a friend and decided to give it a shot. Glad I did and very happy that my machine is up and running again.Repair timeline was accurate, communication was excellent, great value for cost (no surprises) and machine running like new.Highly Recommend!

M & I Sewing Machine & Services: what do users think?
Francine Berretta: I am so thrilled with my newly serviced "old", hand-me-down sewing machine. Ivy fixed a seemingly unrepairable tension disc and called me back several times to carefully confirm next steps so I was aware of risks and extra parts cost. She must have spent countless hours trying to solve this issue but didn't charge me any extra labour hours from her original quote. Her costs were reasonable but the bonus was the additional hour she spent showing me how to use my sewing machine properly! Along with the basics of how to thread the machine properly and adjust the tension, there were at least 3 new buttons/features that I was completely clueless on. Thank you Ivy!!
judi closkey: I took my 30 year old Kenmore sewing machine this past summer to Ivy for repairs. I thought it was completely dead and unrepairable but Ivy knew exactly what was wrong right away. It needed some electrical repairs and ivy took it apart and went all over town looking for parts in the right color to fix the electrical. She did it!!!! And all in white!!! She is a sewing machine goddess!!! She also gave it a servicing and got it in tip top shape. She put in hours of extra work and only charged me her original quote. Very very very reasonably priced for such an ancient machine. Then, when I picked it up she gave me free sewing lessons!!!! How to thread the needle properly, how to do front and back stitch, how to check the tension, tips and tricks for changing the thread so I didn’t need to rethread the machine. And so much more!! Ivy was awesome, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Everyone who needs their sewing machine tuned up needs to go see Ivy. She’s an angel. Thank you Ivy. 😊
Venus Wong: Ivy is very professional and passionate about sewing machine services. She spent over an hour helping me understand the machine better and I learned a lot from her. Happily getting myself ready for the new sewing projects again!
Sandra Ramezani: Lily knows her craft and loves what she does. My machine is working like new again and she took the time to show me tips to keep the machine in good working order.
Holly Rock: She couldn’t tell me what was wrong with my machine or what she did to repair it. Paid $160 and my machine is still jamming and unusable
Ecofriendly cloth All organic: Bad experience just in the entry…. Bad manners. Totally unpleasant
Olivia: Brought my sewing machine here, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Ivy was incredibly kind and professional, and even gave me lesson on the do's and don'ts with my machine to keep it from breaking again! Repair was reasonably priced. Would definitely take my machine here for repairs or a tune-up in the future.
G Cheng: Hidden gem if you need last minute needles and oil for your machine at affordable pricing
Dee Pozzolo: Ivy is delightful and will fix my 40 year old Kenmore sewing machine that has been such a workhorse I couldn't bear to part with it.
david boriboune: Just popped in to get a part for my mom. They didn't have it but she showed me some used parts that were similar. I was willing to buy it but she advised that I would be wasting my money. Instead of trying to make a quick dollar, she rather sell me the correct part. Hard to find a honest businesses like this anymore. I would highly recommend them.
Gil. Langlois: Went there twice, two weeks in a row, pass one o'clock on week's day...the door was always closed! Zero star!
christine: I am really glad that I had my sewing machine serviced at M & I. They are the best! They are low-key but knowledgeable, honest and work with integrity. M & I is not open full day. They are not in it for the money. I would call before I make my way there.
Shawn Moreau: Almost as good as a kid walking into a candy store.
Aggie Lo: Ivy is an expert in fixing sewing machine. My 34 years old Singer sewing machine was broken. She clearly explained what the problem was for this "old timer". As this machine was my wedding gift, it mean so much for me. Therefore, I decided to fix it. However, her store didn't carry the part for this machine. She tried to order some other places. Luckily, she found one from a dealer. She went there to pick up the part personally and made sure that was the right one. Finally, my sewing machine was fixed. I was very appreciated for her passion towards the work. She was very professional and showed me how to operate the machine properly.
Brendan Cade: I have been attempting to get a machine repaired here for roughly 4 months, as they are very close to my house. Not once have I seen them open, nor have they ever answered the phone. Not sure what's going on, the plants in the windows get watered but that's the only evidence this place is still operating.
Katie K: My 20+ year old Pfaff Hobbymatic970, a basic manual sewing machine, had been having problems for a while. The tension was off no matter how I adjusted it, and the press foot would not stay down firmly at all. It seemed the interior mechanism was in need of a major tuneup. I google searched for sewing machine repairs in Vancouver and found M&J Sewing Machine & Services on Broadway has a fairly good review. I called first to check if they repair Pfaff machines, they said they only repair manual Pfaff machines but not computerized ones. I took my machine in on a Monday and it was ready for pickup on Friday.Ivy, the owner, explained thoroughly what was wrong with my machine and walked me through how each component should work properly. She also reviewed with me how to loop the thread and bobbins to get the correct tension, and a few more tips to get the most out of my sewing machine.Ivy also carries some parts and accessories. I bought some bobbins for my machine which is not available in fabric stores or on-line stores.I am very pleased with the repair and service provided by Ivy. I highly recommend this place and will definitely go back for future repair when required. The repair fee is also reasonable. It is a cash-only store and a 50% deposit is required.I hope this review is helpful.
Lina Basso: Giving me excuses that the material I am using is causing the skipped stitching then after using various materials and the skipping is still happening saying that the machine is old and even industrial machines have these problems IS NOT backing up your service. $100 in the garbage.
Andrea Mathys: I brought my Singer machine here and I thought it would be really hard to fix it. Haha it turned out that something was wrong with the setting and the machine is fine. The lady was sooo nice and just showed me and told me what to do. She didn't even charge me for the service of checking the machine. I will definitely go back when something comes up for real!
Andrew Perez: I brought my sewing machine here thinking I needed to repair the feed dogs but I felt like a goof when the owner showed me that I simply just needed to adjust a dial. She knew I didn't really know how to use thing thing so she gave me a few tips on how to properly use it.
Rosina Cuk: Took my machine in for a service 6 months ago. I let them know that the sewing machine's foot paddle is sticky and would like them to look at that. They cleaned and oiled the machine but nothing else is fixed. The lady told me nothing was wrong with the paddle and it's likely to have a loose wire and she wrapped the wire with black electrical tape. Which did not make sense to me at the time since the light was working perfectly.Today a part came off from the foot paddle and that was loose the whole time!Unless you don't know your machine or you have a novelty sewing machine, I recommend taking your machine to a real sewing machine servicing company. They may have good customer service, but they really don't know the machines.
hailanbrooke: Great service at a very reasonable price! Very, very happy to have found this place!!

Tom's Sewing Centre: what do users think?
Rita Sheloff: Love this store and their staff! I have found them all to be kind, helpful and friendly. I bought my Janome Embroidery Machine from them last year and I love it so much! Such an amazing machine and a really good price. The value for my money was excellent. A year later I'm still very happy with it.
Haruka Imai: Brought the machine to fix on 10/15/23, being forgotten for five months. No UPDATE CALL. i was patient. I called in on 3/1/23 at 9:30 am.They had no clue where my machine was, at all. Waited the call back patiently 6 hours.Again, I was waiting. Finally I was waiting for the answer, they said “the machine parts are missing to fix and now we’re ordering. Have no clue when the part will arrive. “ I was patient till then.I assume this “tom’s sewing “were forgetting and CANNOT MANAGE TO TRACK OF THE CUSTOMERS ORDER like Normal business people can do, to check up on my machine otherwise the time WOULD NOT have passed this much, it goes without saying, obviously.Only if they gave me approx waiting time with an APOLOGY, I wouldn’t have given this feed back.Instead the lady on the phone didn’t apologize nor gave me the attitude to help me figuring out.She just said “ i don’t know how long it takes” is it the attitude to who is waiting for five months?I don’t think so. what if it was you who were waiting. I waited five months without any complain.I was and I am very upset with this customer service and such an disappointing experience and so SAD the fact that this brunch is the part of the singer.THIS PLACE DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO OFFER !It is the shame that I had to deal with this place just because there’s no alternative.I wouldn’t have used your place, it is very inconvenient location too.Far from downtown, store is boring too.I am going to report to the singer’s HR. what a shame. At least, why don’t you APPRECIATE this honest review MR TOM?! Huh
Linda Diane Taylor: Very friendly and helpful staff. Picked up some wide back flannel on sale. A little disorganized as they are rearranging. Great selection of quilting cottons. Prices comparable to other fabric stores. Kits on higher end of price scale.
K. Dub: The lady was very knowledgeable about what they carried, had my part.
Ho Yi Lau: I took my sewing machine here to fix because it was leaking oil. I forgot to bring the electric cord and foot paddle but the staff there just used the cables they had in the store because they sell Janome and my sewing machine was made by Janome. They looked at my machine carefully and think nothing is really wrong with it but offered to keep the machine so the owner Tom could look at it. It turns out the previous technician I hired to service the machine put too much oil in it. They didn’t charge me for this inspection which was fantastic. I feel bad for getting free service so I bought some fabric from them. Overall the service was excellent, staff there are very knowledgeable and friendly. I went there with my 5 yo daughter and she was running around (I stopped her many times but you know it’s hard with a 5 yo), staff didn’t get upset and still very friendly to us.
Keyra: Tom went above and beyond to help me with my sewing machine. I needed the needle threader repaired and couldn't get an appointment from the Husqvarna Viking dealer. Tom repaired the needle threader and also consulted with a Husqvarna Viking rep about my machine display. Due to the extra time it took to consult about the display, I wasn't able to pick up my machine the same day. I thought I would have to wait another week for my next day off, but Tom brought my machine to my home for me! Fantastic service. I will definitely go back.
Serena Young: Really experienced staff on products and also found one pattern fabric I had been looking all over for to finish up my quilt.
Sofia Zax: My singer machine started sewing weird and I gave them a call. The service time was pretty long - about 6-8 weeks but I came in with the part I thought was acting strange. They didn’t want to sell me a new one as they said it was perfectly fine - but showed me how to tune it. I really appreciate the fact that they could sell me that but didn’t! And the lady in the shop was right, I followed her instructions and it solved it! Super professional shop, from what I saw they also had a really good selection and prices. Would definitely work with them again in the future
William Bonner: Brick and Mortar stores need to really shine, to prevent themselves from falling victim to Amazon. I needed a bobbin case, and found it on Amazon, but it was going to take 3 weeks to arrive. I knew a real store would sell it for double the price, but I wanted it today. So I called this morning at 10:15, knowing they were open at 9:30. There was no answer, which seemed very odd. Good customer service includes answering every call, even if you place them on hold temporarily. Confused and wondering if they were even open, I left a voicemail. When no one called back 10 minutes later, I tried calling again. The woman who answered was curt (rude), and said she 'hadn't had time to talk to her parts person yet", and would call me back. Again, I was confused, why can't you just put me on hold and go check now? So we hung up again. She did finally call me back, and asked if it was front or sideloading. I explained I was new to sewing and wasn't sure. She kept steamrolling the conversation over me as I was trying to ask if I could give her the model number or send a picture. I kept thinking, how can you know if you have it in stock without a part number?? I tried telling her there were screws on the top plate, and I thought I needed to remove them to remove the bobbin case but she said that was wrong. (I did later confirm you need to remove the screws to get it out) I finally just said that I'd buy it on Amazon, (because I didn't want to deal with her anymore) How does Tom's expect to compete against Amazon with people like this working there? If I knew the person was inexperienced and new to sewing, I'd go the extra mile. This telephone exchange left me feeling burned.
Danika “Danika”: Great fabrics. Really wonderful and helpful staff. Pleasant atmosphere.
Celina Sekhon: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessAmazing customer service from the kind ladies who work here.
Kirsten Daub: A really lovely shop with very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I am somewhere between a novice and intermediate sewist, and really appreciated how much time they took to answer all my questions and show me the machine I was interested in. Really nice to be able to see and try different machines and have friendly people tell you all about them.
Khaled Almhawich: Nice place and people
Koji Sato: Pretty poor customer service. Brick and mortor stores need to do better... I'd rather order from Amazon.
Tamelia Platt: Person on the phone and the front of the house person really left something to be desired as far as attitude.
Sandra Esperanza: This place is very very hospitable. These ladies in there are awesome. Quilt shopping in Canada vs the States is very different. These people are so helpful and willing to help with whatever I’ve needed every time I go in. I feel like I’m State side. I purchased a machine from them and have loved all my experiences going in!
Jade River: I had to drive a ways but it was worth it!I could have ordered the part online but they had it in stock so I could start sewing right away. As I waited in line the woman in front of me was told her machine would be fixed the SAME DAY! Wow. Knowledgeable people and prompt service. Well done!
Theresa Cotton: Tom was very knowledgeable and honest about the machines we looked at! Kind service from everyone in the shop, and a great and organized selection of machines, fabric, and notions. Worth the drive if you don't live near by!
Ann Charlton: I always enjoy a visit at Tom's. Well stocked, with knowledgeable and friendly staff. I also appreciate their COVID vigilance...keeps them open and everyone safe!
moonlighthirani1: The staff are very knowledgeable and were very helpful when I went to purchase a birthday gift. In my excitement and being from the U.K.,I am unaccustomed to taxes not being included in the prices so I unfortunately realised later, that I had gone over my allocated budget.I requested to swap it for a cheaper model and get a gift certificate for the rest of the amount intending to purchase more items from this shop at a later date.I was informed that I can only upgrade. Exchange/credit note/gift certificate etc. are not available options.I was saddened by the very limited exchange policy.I had intentionally sought out a local business rather than shopping online from places like Amazon as I choose to support local businesses where possible.I would recommend this shop for the expertise and products it offers but would also recommend that customers are aware of the refund/exchange policy before making any big purchases to avoid any disappointment and stress.
Shari Green: Great repair service. Great selection of fabrics. Friendly!

Spool of Thread: what do users think?
jennifer huxham: Beautiful store, awesome selection and super helpful staff :)
stephen olson: Pretty good and large space for moving around and viewing products.
Frank Branch: I needed a special cut of fabric I couldn’t do myself due to a disability. They were so helpful got exactly what I needed. Definitely coming here was worth the drive.
Ly Nguyen: Staff was not friendly or helpful when I called about an introductory sewing class. When I asked approximately how much the supplies would cost in addition to the class fee and instead of explaining the options they said they would only send me the list after I’ve put down the non-refundable deposit. I decided to go with The Stitchery Sewing Studio in Port Moody instead; they allow online booking and have a clear outline of the materials you’d need for their classes on their website (not to mention you also get a discount for buying in store materials). I get that they have to pay their instructors and the rates are fair for what you get but providing friendly customer service over the phone shouldn’t be all that hard.
Zachary Abbott: Cute, clean and very well stocked.Polite and helpful staff. Will be back for fabric FOR SURE !!!
Peter Freitas: Leigha was absolutely wonderful to get customer service from! She greeted us immediately upon entering and continued throughout our trip finding fabrics for 4 different projects. She was extraordinarily friendly the whole time! On top of the service the quality and variety of fabrics was great to see.
Cassandra Ma: Went into the store and didn’t find the staff to be very helpful or friendly. They have a great selection of prints but it’s pretty expensive and I saw the exact same fabric I bought off Etsy from a local seller for a higher price. I’m sure the cost of rent and owning a business contributes to the inflated price, I understand. What I mean to say is if they charge a higher price for a store front and customer service, it would be helpful for staff to be friendlier and available to help and not be brushed off or on their cell phones at the front desk.Cute fabrics and prints but I would rather support other small businesses like Twoonine or DailyLike on Etsy or Blackbird.
HR: Good selection of fabrics. Spacious layout. Mixed experiences with staff, however. There are sewing machines at the back of the shop where staff are usually sewing when I enter the store. If I go to the till to look for assistance, I wait for a while, but then I need to call and ask, hello who is working here? Some workers are kind and helpful, but about half the time I get grudging service.
Jenny Paddon: Such a beautiful store...the most gorgeous fabrics...beautifully presented...fabulous range of interesting patterns...a tranquil inspiring place of creativityParking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free street parking …More
Lucy F: I went there to pick up my order. When I walked in the door, I saw one staff was sitting there minding her own business. I greeted her and thanked her when I was telling her the reason of my visit, but she never greeted back accordingly except that she gave me my order. Then I browsed the store a bit, when I was leaving, I heard her passionately greeted to two Caucasian costumers at the door. I thought it’s her personality but it’s a discrimination instead. All I can say is I despise this type of behavior, shame on you.
Joel Reynolds: very cool store, and very helpful staff
Andrew Bryson: Went in looking for a particular thing. Turned out they didn't have it and the staff person suggested an alternative which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the alternative would not suit what I needed. I asked if they knew of any place that had what I was looking for as they clearly could not meet my need and I was quite surprised by the response. One counter person just said no outright. As we were walking out, the second staff person walked up to us and quietly suggested a store up the road. It was very obvious that she didn't feel comfortable sharing an alternative store. If it is clear that the store has no way to fill my need, what is the issue recommending an alternative place?
Chanh Houang: Knowledgeable staff, beautiful selection of fabrics.
Danni: Great prices, lots of fun and cute prints. I placed an order for fabrics after their hours, my order was processed and ready for pickup the next day, when i went i saw this cute cat sewing box. The staff was also friendly
Mark Trischuk: Way better than Michael's for sewing supplies
Maya Credico: Great shop! Amazing selection. I Came in and knew exactly what I wanted, and they were a great help with me finding my supplies. I purchased the Florence dress pattern by merchant and mills.Thank you spool of thread!
Romy Zaidel: Staff are not very friendly. I walked in with my child who was behaving themself and they were pretty snotty. I've been in many times alone and I've never had a problem. There are other much better sewing shops to go to in the city.
Rosemary Lynch: Super nice fabrics , but unfortunately the worst service ever! I am a beginner and simply asked if I was getting enough fabric ? The gal passed me a ruler and walked off . Turns out I got all the way back to Whistler only to find out I did not , so disappointed
Lucia: Great variety of beautiful fabrics, and helpful staff! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for unique and interesting patterns
Kati Rodzon: Fun store with great fabric. Staff is helpful
M C: Really making an effort to shop local and avoid giving my money to big box stores/amazon, so i would have been really happy to buy from spool of thread. However, when I went in and asked for organic fabric for a baby project, the staff very unwillingly showed me some holiday prints (the only organic fabric they have apparently), and were in general pretty uncommunicative and unhelpful. I asked what other fabric they might recommend for a project for a baby and they said "we dont have any fabric for baby stuff specifically" and acted like it was a strange/annoying request. You're telling me no one comes in here looking to make baby gifts? Zero suggestions, no help beyond the bare minimum of what I specifically asked for. Enthusiasm and customer service are things people shop at small businesses for.The store is lovely inside, a really nice space. But the cold maybe snobby service? No thanks. I biked all the way over ready to spend my money, and I left empty handed.

Sam's Sewing Machine Repair: what do users think?
Pat Walker: I am so impressed with Sam's Sewing Machine Repair. I have an old Kenmore sewing machine which need some work to fix the bobbin. I took my machine to a different repair shop and was told it was unfixable. I decided to try a different place and I choose Sams. so glad I did. He had not problem fixing it with 5 days. I was so happy. I can now get back to sewing. Sam was very nice and polite and made my day. Thank you Sam. Jackie Walker. Port Moody.
katie rose: Amazing service, well priced and very fast! Was so happy to find someone close by who could take care of my machine :)
Kath Lousada: We had a great experience with Sam. He is professional, kind, and efficient! I found him through Google, and I do recommend his services.
Elizabeth Turtle: I can’t say say enough about how pleased I am with Sam’s Repair Service! He is kind and professional, his work very reasonably priced and completed in less time than I expected. My machine works just like new again (and it’s over 45 years old)!Thank you Sam. I will highly recommend your service!
JeanBrown Piano: My bobbin holder looked like it was completely broken and I would need a new one. Sam told me he would try to fix it and he did. When I picked it up from him he said to let him know if I have any issues in the future and he will then order a new part and only charge me for the part and no labour. So far I have been sewing with it beautifully! Thank you Sam!
Kelly Khakh: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessI called Sam to have a look at my newer brother machine. I don’t know much about machines or sewing. I just need to occasionally repair seams. He looked at the machine and told me nothing is wrong with it. Showed me how to thread it properly. Feel bad cause spent time but didn’t charge me anything. Thank you so much Sam :-).
Claire Cormeau: BEWARE!I took my Pfaff sewing machine to get serviced by Sam. When I took it back home to start a project, I realized that he had not put it back together properly! It was almost falling apart!! Also, two issues that I had told him about (thread cutter not working, needle threader not working) had not been repaired.I have called him a total of 3 times now, leaving messages each time over the course of two weeks, and he has not responded to any of my messages. So not only does he do poor work, but he ghosts customers!Very unprofessional, I would not recommend taking any of your equipment here.
Beryl Musser: Excellent service
Silvana Vieytes: Sam was nice and professional. Honest and efficient. Exactly what we need to have our machine running again for a fair price.
Ahmed Ajjeh: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueSams work is very clean and professional, he has fair pricing for outstanding quality service. He quickly managed to resurrect a seemingly worn down sewing machine. Truly a master of his craft.
Diana Klejne: Have an older Singer we adopted and it was missing a part and needed a little tuneup. Contacted Sam, he was quick to respond, and seemed very reasonable. While the machine was in his care , the part took a while to deliver due to Covid but Sam communicated with on a regular basis, and keeped me updated. Really appreciate the level of service ! Thanx Sam !
Erica Franken: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueSam is amazing! I bought a second hand Singer sewing machine and he was able to fix it to full working capacity! He was kind enough to pick it up, drop it off and offer me a free lesson on how to use it, too! I highly recommend his services!
Ceci L: The telephone number on Yelp does not seem to be correct and I missed that there is a different number on the business web site. However, as it is only a few blocks away I drove to the address (residence) and there was no response (it was during posted business hours), and no sign of it being a business, so I am unsure of the status. While I always try to support local small businesses, I took my machine into Vancouver for servicing.
Alexa Hanser: Positive:Quality,ValueSam is a Rockstar! He really helped me out in a pinch, I told him my situation and he was super helpful and did the repair within 7 days! I thought my machine was a goner! Sam does great work and I'm so pleased!
LS C: My experience started with a call for mobile service. He delays me 1 week with my continuous following up with him. (If you get the same response, stay away!!!) Eventually, he makes it to my place to service my industrial machine. He quoted $120 during our first conversation, but when done, he charged $150. He spent a little less than 1 hour working on it. When completed, the machine was up and running with the bobbin time corrected. Less than 2 hours of usage over 1 week, the timing was off again. Called him back to recheck the machine, but no luck getting him back. Now, I have contacted Mason on Kent St. which charges $119, but I have to bring the head in. I should have gone through the Mason route vs some backyard repair guy to service my machine. What a waste of time and money!!!
Karen W: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueVery professional manner. My serger and sewing machine run so smooth now.
Sher Macdonald: I am very happy to have found Sam's sewing machine repair.Very professional and great service.I would highly recommend Sam to anyone who needs their sewing machinerepaired or tuned up..
Eli Semotiuk: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueSam was wonderful to correspond with for fixing my machine. He was quick and professional, very fair price. My machine works so smoothly now- I will definitely use Sam in the future for repairs and regular upkeep. Thanks so much!!!
Jules man: Sam is excellent sewing machine serviceman. He not only fixed my issues with my Kenmore 10 stitch machine but gave me tips on how my machine works. He was very ready to answer any questions and when i had trouble from inserting the needle incorrectly, he corrected the issue within the same day. His service is impeccable and at a very reasonable affordable price. Now my machine is running very smoothly. Next time my machine needs servicing, i would not hesitate to bring it back to Sam! He knows his stuff!
Meredith Benningfield: Positive:Responsiveness,ValueSam fixed my Pfaff sewing machine quickly, for a fair price. He is a lovely gentleman to deal with!
Sandra Swift: I was very pleased with Sam’s service. His prompt return call allowed me to explain the problem and have a pickup the next morning. When it was repaired, he called in the morning and set it back in the cabinet that afternoon. He made sure I tried sewing with it first before he left. I would definitely recommend Sam for his prompt courteous service that comes with a 3 month service warranty.Sandra S

Colton Mobile Service: what do users think?
Gail Graham: Great service they provided with picking up your machine; servicing it; & returning it! Because some of us are seniors & even have trouble even lifting machines!
Muff Hackett: Mark was quick, efficient and very reasonable. I am very glad to have been able to have him service my beloved 24 year old Kenmore sewing machine.
Gillian Vandermeirsch: So lucky to have these guys right in my own backyard. Quick response via email, easy drop-off, clear communication of work to be done and the cost, convenient payment via email and then text to pick-up. Maybe a bit longer than a week turnaround from drop-off to the quote, but then the repair was done quickly and nobody to blame but myself for not getting by to pick it up right away! Mark appears to really know his machines (so refreshing to find someone interested in repairing and not just throwing out and buying new!), and my machine is humming along perfectly, problem solved. Thanks Mark for the great service!
Dee Paquette: Lovely gentleman who is very knowledgeable and willing to share. My Singer 1940's Light weight is back to 100 % at a most reasonable price. Thanks
YU H: Thank you very much!!! My old Sewingmachine work very very well now.My friend gave me a old sewing machine which is “Calanda PFAFF made is Japan”. It was mad around 1960. Nobody used the machine quite long time. The machine was sitting in the closet. So the machine had a lots of problems and I could not use it, however, I didn’t want to throw away.Mark repaired my machine perfectly!! His customer service and professional technic was amazing. If you have a old sewing machine, don’t throw away. He will help!
Bertine Stelzer: Colton Mobile services is a hidden gem for the sewing world. Their repair service is great and a rare find. I had two very different sewing machines that needed service and Colton repaired both within 1 week. One star less given as currently the only way to get their services is to drive and drop off at their repair shop which is a bit out of the way (for me at least) and I have to go back to look after another issue. However, there is a 3 month warranty on repairs, which is fantastic. Thank you for the great support!
Jan Lander: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueNice to get my old machine working like new again. Reasonably priced and good service, thank you
Nina Wills: I recently got my Bernina machine serviced by Mark and it was truly a delightful experience. I had a bunch of questions for him about the machine and how it works and how to stitch certain things and he honestly knows everything there is to know. He is the sewing machine wizard! I will definitely be coming back and I would highly recommend his services to everyone else :)
B. Ringham: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueEmail was answered quickly and pick up service was arranged for the following day. I sent a 1948 Singer Featherweight and a modern White machine in for repairs and both are now in great condition and a pleasure to sew with. Highly recommend this service.
Maureen Clarke: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueColton Service Inc repaired my sewing machine to my satisfaction and were very reasonable with the cost. I am happy that I have found a reliable company that is not far from home. I will definitely go back again.
Art Green: I found this sewing machine repair quite by chance. An open garage door full of sewing machines. I now have a good working machine so Thanks!
Katherine Alexander: Very nice repairman.
Dawn Bouchard: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI have been taking my sewing machine and serger to Colton Serviceonce a year for a very long time.. Mark does an amazing job every time.He gets the work done fast and his price is very reasonable...
Private Person: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI am so happy to have had my machine cleaned and updated! Thank you for the home delivery ; )
ctc 669: I sent my machine in to be serviced and mentioned concerns re: the foot control. It came back and the foot control issue was not addressed. I called the owner, who didn't sound pleased to hear from me, frankly, and he agreed to bring it back for a second look. The driver was sent to pick up the machine and I showed him what the issue was—basically the control wasn't running smoothly, if at all. "Dead spots," is how he described it when he explained the issue over the phone to the owner. So back the machine went. Did it come back fixed? NO.Now that I need the machine again for heavy use, I popped open the foot control and based on the amount of dust and grime in there, and how little I had used it since it was first 'repaired,' I highly doubt it had ever been opened since it left the factory decades ago.Great that others have had positive experiences, but I certainly did not.EDIT: response to owner...I am definitely NOT confused. Your business was the one that charged me for servicing my machine—and did not follow through on my request re: the foot control, which is likely the only thing that was truly wrong with my machine.I removed the sticker you placed on my machine; otherwise I would've posted a pic of it here as proof.
Monique Young: Positive:Professionalism,Responsiveness
Maddy S.: Unfortunately, my sewing machine cannot be repaired due to its age and particular missing part. However, the gentleman who helped me was extremely professional and knew immediately the make, model, age, and issues had. He greeted my vintage machine by model number off the top of his head! Will definitely come back when or if any new machine I get needs a little help.
JB Fergusson: Positive:Professionalism,QualityConvenient delivery and knowledgeable staff. My old Husqvarna was running hot and Colton gave it new life. It now works great.
Lucille Wilder: Positive:Quality,Responsiveness,ValueTook in my Pfaff, Singer, Husquavarna and Janome...for a tune up,great service
Judy Grieve: Positive:ProfessionalismQuick response to my inquires about my Singer machine. Pick up was speedy and returned within a week. Had another problem after a week and again my machine was picked up and repaired for free as it was within the two months period. Would recommend Colton Services.
Nancy Johnston: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessAmazing, efficient, friendly and helpful to a sewer trying quilting. Gave me some helpful hints on working with a difficult thread too!! I've recommended Mark to all my friends. Thank you!!
