Yoga West: what do users think?
Aneesha Kozikova: Great yoga classes. I have been coming here for many years. Very friendly invironment and lovely teachers.
Elviie Ad: I love this studio! Yesterday, I had my first class since the pandemic started. And Oh Wow! My body and brain are feeling so sharp and in tune today!
Elin Jonsson: My second home. Love Yoga West and the amazing teachers
m c: With The most recent release of Premkas book and her detailed experience with the abuse she endured at the hands of Yogi Bhagan I would hope and pray that removing YB photos from the studio would indicate that Yoga West does not support OR condone such horrific behaviour from one human to another. This kundalini community is going through a extremely challenging time and while investigations are taking place the studio itself could be serving the people by representing yoga west a safe place to breath and move without glorifying YB. We must take action diligently and calming to provide a safe and respectful environment by adjusting to the changes that must be taken in lieu of this 'credible' information! Sat Nam
Anya Torina: My favorite yoga place in Canada:), that focuses on Kundalini yoga - You should try it!Besides yoga you can enjoy small Sikh temple & kirtans, gong healing baths, ginger tea, cozy sofas, book shop, different workshops and more..
Cristina W.: This is a good studio to check out if you are looking to learn very traditional, serious Kundalini yoga. Although it is not necessary to wear all white (or close to white as possible), loose clothing, that is what the teachers and some students wear to class, which is what is traditionally done in Kundalini yoga. The classes are prefaced as "Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan." Frequent use of mantras and intense breathing exercises in class. Breath of fire is common and sustained for moderate periods of time. I enjoyed the teacher's focus on bringing a positive outlook to this life we have been gifted, and doing the most we can to bring positivity to our reality and our world and our fellow humans. The reason I gave 3 stars is because I didn't feel the teacher guide me outside of the physical structure of a pose. I do feel that the use of breath of fire and other very intense and demanding breathing practices can be dangerous when the teacher is not mindful of how much they are opening up the students in their class by directing them to use these powerful breathing tools, especially for moderate periods of time. Kundalini yoga is a practice that should be taught accessibly and carefully because of the intensity of breathing that can occur, and I didn't feel this class was very accessible to the average, western Joe (as the studio is called Yoga West, after all) in need of the spiritual, physical, and mental benefits of Kundalini yoga, who may not be prepared to (and shouldn't, if they haven't built up to it) jump into such intense breathing exercises. Rather I felt it catered to the experienced, traditionalist yogi who has had a lot of experience with these intense breathing exercises and already knows how to do them without hurting themselves. That being said, I think this is a great studio for experienced yogis looking for a very traditional and serious approach to learning the roots of Kundalini yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan).
Emanuele Bignone: If you want to learn kundalini yoga, this is the place. They have great classes.Try it for a bit and you will see chances in yourself.
Anastaisha Krasko: Yoga West is a gem! This center has some really good teachers and the atmosphere is way grounded and positive for someone who wants to learn to to meditate or do kundalini yoga.

Eric Mendes: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI had a great experience with this yoga studio in Vancouver
Lina Morrison: Positive:QualityI am a member of Karma Teachers for over 4 years. I love their classes and safe environment. This is one of the best Yoga Studios in Vancouver - and best of all they are free or by donation!
Richard Morrison: Positive:ProfessionalismExcellent Place to do Yoga Teacher Training in Vancouver. I got my certificate in 2019. The life training is simply unparalleled. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to advance their Yoga as a professional or in life training.
Emerson Wolfe: This space used to be amazing! Unfortunately, in 2020, the executive director was asked to leave because of abuse of power and misconduct. Before he left, he registered the trademark "karma teachers" in order to maintain control of the community and manipulate the incoming board of directors. Rather than associate with him, the community decided to rebrand as Phoenix Community Yoga operating at 45 w Hastings. This is not the same Karma Teachers.
Amber Marple: Such a blessed space! The instructors are amazing and Karma Yoga does so much for the community. They offer a wide range of yoga classes and their dance classes are so much fun! Highly recommend checking them out.
climbing karma: Sorry
Taste Creativity: Can't recommend more.
Lala lo: This a home where you walk in and no matter what state you’re in, you know you will feel safe. How precious it is to connect back with unconditional acceptance of self!I feel such gratitude for Karma teachers, allowed me to belong, share & grow with others. True family
Nicole Roy: I did my Kids Yoga Teacher Training at Karma teachers. It was comfortable and centrally located. Everyone I met at the center was passionate about yoga and knowledgeable and nice.
Roi Ben Daniel: I absolutely loved the place, great option for Yoga lovers who visit town. A very community oriented yoga center, you can choose what you contribute to the center. Arrive early so you can register to the class.
Melanie Y: Cozy yoga, meditation and teacher training studio located in the heart of Gastown. All classes are by donation with a suggested minimum donation of $5! Lots of different classes offered including: Hatha, Vinyasa, Power Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative and Meditation.
Mr Ait: The teachers are great staff are very friendly and helpful. the atmosphere cozy There is a nice seating area and you can help yourself to a complimentary cup of healthy drinks There is also a small changing roomI would definitely recommend it!I feel really lucky to have this studio in my neighbourhood and look forward many more sessions there.
paige robyn: Love this place 🕉️✌️thank you for a safe space !
Luzarno Saqa Kage-Thevarge: Beautiful studio filled with beautiful souls. My favorite place to be, outside of the beach 😁
Ruth de la Giroday: A fantastic group of people teach & practice here. They are all very welcoming; no one is turned away. The space as well is beautiful & amazing. 100% will practice here again.I came because a friend of mine is doing her teacher training here. They hold their classes by donation. The teacher I had for Yin yoga was wonderful & helped correct / adjust some of my poses. Beyond happy I was introduced to Karma.
Sadi Santos: Great experience!
Ashley Jordan: I always feel so at home at Karma Teachers! All of the volunteers are so committed and kind, and the classes are always amazing!
Jonathan Poddar: Loved it. Wanna go there more.

YYOGA Downtown Flow: what do users think?
Marjan Rouhipour: This review is not about the service in studio or teachers or quality of service. This is about hold request on monthly membership. I am a month to month members eligible for 3 holds per year.It should be easy process to ask for hold but it is, it is very confusing and you cannot talk to anyone. The north shore studio told me to fill the form and I did. After 4 ays I have not received any response. After submitting the request, there is no tracking number no auto reply email nothing that shows you sent that request. In summary:- you cannot do it over phone and call your studio- it is only through a online form, finding the right form itself is confusing, no instruction- you do not know if YYoga received it or not , no auto reply or tracking number- no response in 72 hours as YYoga claims.
Ghazal: First time at this location. Booked a Hatha yoga class through ClassPass for this studio and I was truly impressed with the studio aesthetics! This location is very spacious and has a huge lounge area to relax and unwind before or after your classes. What I like about YYoga is that teachers usually educate you about the poses and their benefits in addition to guiding you through the shapes.Jayme was an amazing teacher!Highly recommend!
Ivan Quintana: The 200 hour YYOGA Yoga Teacher Training program is second to none. I would strongly recommend it whether you would like to learn how to teach yoga or simply deepen your knowledge in the practice and increase your level of self-awareness. The program is very comprehensive. The instructors Mari, Jayme, Jasmina and Zander are very dedicated and passionate professionals, and are generous with their knowledge, experience and time. They attract similar enthusiastic and empathetic people. I was part of two different groups and both were full of incredible, wonderful people.
Gustavo Arruda: One of the best yoga studios in Vancouver. Nice, big rooms and a very welcoming atmosphere. Teaching is superb.
Maria N: Very good and clean studio!Staff are nice. Bernadette is a wonderful instructor,I attended her class 3 times and enjoyed it so much. She is very engaging, shows a lot of different postures for different levels. On the other hand, I was not very impressed by Jayme. Won’t attend her class again.
Justine Yiu: Love coming here after work to unwind. They have great facilities: showers, tea room, infrared sauna. I feel like I get a mini spa day during the week. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. The hot yoga and power classes are great. Be prepared to sweat. Haven’t had an issue with their online booking system. I just pay for the 10 class pack, which is great for my needs.
Rebecca Coastal: Very disappointing! From 2021 until 2022 they didn't let students enter without the Va.xx Passport. That's a violation of our medical privacy and the Canadian Bill of Rights. They even mandate the Yoga teachers to take the Jab.Many of them left.I understand that they want to keep the studio open, but it's OUR body OUR Choice! They failed the Great Spiritual Test that was presented to us. They are NOT authentic. No Body, No Mind and No Spirit. They ONLY have fear of breathing. Even after taking the jab.The decisions they made were to save their own selves and their business. This is the primordial reptile brain (fear) which is operating for those who failed to do the right thing; a lower frequency vibration (and operating on the 3 lower chakras). Not very ‘yogic’ if you ask me.
Rebecca Brewer: V nice facility and challenging classes. Mainly attended the yhot classes and had good experiences. The reason for the lower rating has to do with the relative inflexibility of the passes. After an abdominal surgery I was unexpectedly required to avoid all significant exercise for 6 weeks and Yyoga did accommodate me with a 1 month extension to my pass to cover some of that time. The problem is that it simply wasn't enough time to recover and I pushed myself too soon to attend classes again after losing significant muscle mass post-surgery . Long story short, the last class I attended was followed by an evening spent in the ER. Not a great experience coming out of illness to feel that pressure to use up paid credits, but I understand that they're a business. I feel a bit attached to the idea that yoga should have restorative potential but after this experience with Yyoga, I realize that I simply am not consistently able-bodied enough for this yoga studio. Sad because I had enjoyed the experience for the most part. Just a suggestion, but maybe given the mandate of wellness, it might make sense to be a bit less arbitrary about giving people extensions based on illness. Why the limit? Why not just accommodate your clients in this small way to help them in their recovery? I don't think I will be going back because of this feeling. Final note: In one of the post-surgery classes I attended and tried to struggle through, the instructor, speaking to the entire class, said to "ignore" me (not sure if some people were distracted by my deviation from or modification of the poses?) and that felt very off.
Samara: Nice space, staff are really friendly, and most of the classes I've attended have been great!
Trevor Baldrey: Great place to go for whatever mood you’re in. Whether you want a nice stretch or a solid workout. Teachers are friendly and most knowledgeable in the Vancouver community!
Stephen Smith-Gander: My girlfriend has had so many issues with them.First their auto renew policy is a joke. They actually sign you on to a contract and the only way to cancel is to call them. This is not clearly stated at all when you first sign up. So, your credit card will be continually charged until you do so.Second, their staff are extremely rude pretentious stuck up people. They lack basic customer service skills. Soulless vapid folks.Lastly, their late policy is absolutely ridiculous. If you arrive even 1-2 minutes late (no exaggeration) you will be denied entry. So, if Someone rushes to make a morning class and because of a transit delay they are forced to reschedule ? Complete non sense.Yoga is supposed to be about inclusion, fitness and giving people the ability to deal with their daily stress in a healthy way. YYoga just makes that stress worse.
H Yang: I was falsely charged a “no show” fee for a class I attended. I didn’t receive any notification about this charge from YYOGA and only found out after I checked my credit card statement. I was in touch with a “digital experience guest experience” staff about this matter. I understand mistakes happen, and I would have been perfectly content with a refund of the false charge and an explanation on why I didn’t receive any notification. They did issue a refund but they did not address my concern about being charged without notice, and rather, they explained to me "why this was my fault” and how I should take responsibility as well. I was registered for 2 classes and they assumed the error occurred because I signed in for the first and didn’t sign in for the second. However, if they checked the time of the classes, they could see that the class I was marked absent for was the first and not the second, so their explanation does not make any sense. Not taking ownership and unjustly pushing blame on the customer when they make mistakes is terrible. I ALWAYS make sure I check in each time before entering a class. I corrected this digital experience staff and asked to speak to a manager about my concerns about not receiving any notification before getting charged and I did not get a response.I mentioned what happened and my concern to in studio staff and later in the day I got an email from a supervisor. They said I was sent notification and copied the said email to me. I copied portions of the email in my email search bar and found nothing. Very strange since I have no issues receiving other emails from YYOGA. I can accept that it could be a glitch. However, in addition to this, the supervisor also included a lengthy segment on how I can prevent this from happening in the future and summarized the cancellation policy to me. They were not aware of the situation and just assumed that I was absent for a class and refused to pay the penalty because I didn’t receive the notification. I found this very offensive because I understand the cancellation policy, I respect the cancellation policy and I would expect to pay the fine if I violate the policy whether or not I received notification. I read and understand the membership contract I signed to become a YYOGA member. Very frustrating/disappointing that a supervisor would send this email without first taking the time to understanding the situation. How this false charge was handled showed YYOGA was more concerned with “protecting” themselves and pushing blame. I would have really appreciated and respected ownership. What I got was a “lengthy” defence and no reassurance on how they can prevent this from happening in the future.I guess the take away is always be diligent about checking your credit card statements.
Azi Jahan: One of the most amazing Yoga studios in Vancouver!Professional and caring instructors👍🏻Professional support and customer care team 🏻Energetic and smiley faces studio team!I recently moved to Equinox as my main gym but couldn't leave this unique experience.Try it and enjoy a great quality of service and package you will experience there🤩
Jie Zhou: Love the yhot and need it for my life!
Denis Semenov: I bought a pack of single use passes (1 month expiry) 3 days before the covid shutdown in Dec 2021. The studio was closed for an extended period of time and I was unable to use the passes at the time that I was expecting to. I walked into the studio and was directed to email head office and the staff there can't help with any membership issues. I was directed to email and would get a response within a few business days (great). I did get a shocking response from head office notifying me that my pass was indeed expired and I would not be able to use the passes that I had paid for. Naturally I sent back an extremely disappointed email reminding them that the COVID shutdown had nothing to do with me, that I had paid for passes and was not provided services at the time that I was expecting to receive them. I was even more appalled that they insisted that they would only re-instate my pass if I purchase additional passes. Are you kidding me? Goes to show that these guys have absolutely zero customer loyalty and their only goal is to siphon as much money out of you pocket as possible. Whoever is running that office obviously has zero business experience and no idea how to retain customers. Would have been better off to allow me to use the passes that I paid for and deserve to use and they could have retained a future paying customer. I will be taking by business somewhere else.
’Qátuw̓as Brown: Very exclusive and unwelcoming space upon arrival. There is white woman with dark hair who gives off a passive aggressive elitist energy. She made me feel so uncomfortable and unworthy to be in “her” space. The two others at the front desk were friendly almost compensating for her energy. Very sad considering the roots of yogic teachings “non-harm”.The two stars are for the effort and energy the rest of the staff offered.
Michelle W: Ive been out of practice for a while since relocating to Canada early last year. The uncertainties of the pandemic even prolonged by absence with practicing yoga. I tried going to this studio late last year where I ended up traumatized with how the class was held. As a long time practitioner, I am used to a certain type of disciplined environment where restrictions apply, so my disappointment with this particular studio was evident.I took another break and even though I've been aware of YYoga even when I was still back in Asia because I was doing my research on how I can continue my practice, the reviews held me back. But I miss yoga more, I miss the silence, I miss the heat and sweat, I miss that part of me where distractions dont exist. I miss my inner peace. So I hesitantly signed up for my trial pack with least expectations and paced myself for more disappointments to possibly come. I was wrong. I left the studio happier, I felt like I was finally back in the same community I was a year ago.The studio is aesthetically beautiful with its minimalistic approach. The front desk team has been nothing but warm and friendly upon my first arrival, they've answered all of my inquiries. The instructors that I have attended to are encouraging. Wonderful team!
Wholly Flow: If you want to flow; then this is the place to go
Etsuko Yoshimura: It has honestly become ridiculous how Yyoga or other Vancouver based yoga studios are strict with being late. To the point that I think it's not welcoming and inclusive. People have lives and things can happen, and even though I rushed as much as possible to attend the class, spending 40 mind commuting I was rejected of entry just cos I was 5 mins late. "We don't want people to be disturbed" like really, just cos someone comes in a couple of mins your yoga practice is ruined ?Yoga has become so pretentious it's just pure annoying. I rather do yoga at home with YouTube then
Aidan Cheung: very bad company culture and all about money
Manuel Lam: Aesthetically pleasing environment. Unfortunately, out of their control, several facilities are closed for COVID reasons, which is totally understandable. There is a yoga mat cleaning station in a common area outside the yoga studio . It contains a spray bottle, but no towels or anything to wipe them down with, which was inconvenient. Other studios I've been to have sprays and cleaning supplies available inside studios.Although they quickly check COVID vaccine QR codes, I'm shocked they don't actually scan them. In a fitness facility where masks are not required, I would have hoped more strict security measurements. As well, when the front desk staff checked my QR code, they just glanced at it, which defeats the purpose. The hot yoga class I took had a teacher who spoke too much and told anecdotes on his personal life. Although they were funny at times, it was hard to focus because he was very talkative. As well, he would check his phone at several points which was a bit distracting. For the most part, he only talked us through the poses, and rarely did them with us, which was hard to follow. Not naming the instructor because he seemed like a nice guy.

One Yoga for the People: what do users think?
Monika Reinhold: Thank you 🙏
J I: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityOne has been my happy place for five years. The front staff is warm and sweet, the instructors are brilliant, and my fellow yogis attending practice are always lovely.
Christopher Szado: This is my favorite space in Canada to practice. The instructors are all great. Even the newer instructors have a very high standards of practice and the best of the best in Vancouver congregate at this studio. Could not appreciate and value the space and people more. Highest recommendation possible
Jenny Yao: Dubious honor of delivering the worst digital classes that I have ever attended: 1. Zero effort put into the set-up (instructor's upper half was cut off - can probably find better streams on YouTube); 2. Verbal cues only for a good chunk of the class - not really beginner friendly; 3. Felt like you didn't matter if you weren't a regular - where's the community feel?
Tomoko Mikuriya: My favourite yoga studio! I highly recommend their in-person and virtual classes.
Brainy Bungler: Tried a few studios in Vancouver. This one has the best vibe.
Amin Rezapour: Best in town
Josephine Greene: Love this yoga studio
Kyle Wisniewski: Excellent.
Mike McLean: Great classes, space and teachers.
Cristina W.: One Yoga is my favourite yoga studio in town with, in my opinion, the highest caliber of teachers. Most of these teachers have devoted their lives to this practice and are the kind of teachers who teach other teachers how to be an amazing teacher.Check out Christine Price Clark for a beautiful and intentional sequence. See Clara Roberts-Oss for unique and enlivening breathwork and forms. See Mari Dickey for a vinyasa class that will leave you feeling like a new person. See Risto Duggan for a rocket/vinyasa class that will encourage you to reach your full potential. See Shelley Tomczyk for her spiritual energy and heart-lifting sequencing. Those are just the teachers I can remember off the top of my head. Go find out for yourself how awesome they all are!Sliding scale payment system makes practice more accessible, which I am very grateful for. Wonderful space as well, red brick walls, deep brown wooden flooring. Homey vibes.
Sarah D (EatEnergizeEvolve): I went to the 10am and it was packed, but spaced out well. Fantastic class, fantastic instructor and the front desk staff were super nice.
Ralitza Dimova: The studio is very new and modern and all the staff are fantastic. The only reason for the 3/5 stars is because the last three 4:15 classes I have attended have been so packed that the space between the mats is limited to 40-30cm, and they’ve run out of equipment every class (blocks and/or straps). So I’ve had to hold my leg up instead of using straps for a large portion of the class, which has been frustrating and has left me feeling like they care less about ensuring they are providing enough equipment for the poses in that class and more about selling as much space as possible. I found this wasn’t the case over the summer but it’s gotten worse since fall started.
T ngg: Amazing instructors. Beautiful space. Hidden gem.
L Klein: Home away from home :) The teachers at OneYoga are, in my opinion, the best in town. The atmosphere of the studio is relaxing, yet professional. Perfect mixture. Caters to many different needs- classes are taught pretty much morning-night on most days, with varying types of classes being offered. Can only recommend.
Anirudh Kansal: The staff and volunteers here are suuuuuper nice! They have a really strong community feel and the culture of service is really obvious when talking with anyone there. It's a beautiful studio, one of the best in Vancouver!
F. Dini: Great yoga studio. The noon classes are a perfect lunch break option if you want to relax and calm down for the rest of the day.
Andreas Lerch: Great staff with a nice open clean space
jmhughes: Wonderful space and friendly staff. The class I took with Clara was superb - she focused on alignment and working at your own level within a well balanced flow class.
LAZER HAWK: My favourite yoga spot in van, really great vibes in this studio.
Terezie Strnadova: love this studio, teachers there are so inspiring, fun and have so much experience. staff is friendly and helpful and the studio is beautiful. my favorite in Vancouver.

Nirvanami Yoga and Wellness: what do users think?
Ciara Kennedy: I had a wonderful reiki session with Ami, in a beautiful space which was healing and heart opening for me. Ami has a special gift that she so kindly shares with the world. Highly recommend!! best of luck in all your endeavours Ami!
Anastasia Buzmakov: I’m very grateful that life connected me with Ami in winter!!! This spring I could join her retreat on Sunshine Coast that highlighted the beautiful beginning on my personal journey by connecting me with absolutely lovely people. Ami is a very good yoga teacher, sound healer and beautiful soul that has infinite light and energy. Looking forward to do Reiki session with her. Very grateful, Ami 💛
Kirsten Hermanson: Ami is a beautiful soul who is able to hold a safe space for others. I went on my first retreat with her and it literally changed my life. I quickly signed up for a second and again, it was life changing. If you are looking to heal, grow, escape the busyness of life or just be - go on one of her retreats. Thank Ami!
Elaine Davies: This is the kind of opportunity when u truly can connect with yourself on a safe environment, once that happens… you never go back … the only way if forward 🙏🏽
Sonia Clair: I attended Ami's yoga retreat on Jordan River, Vancouver Island on May 2022 long weekend. Being my first yoga and meditation retreat I did not know what to expect. The retreat was amazing and exactly what my mind and soul needed everything from the daily yoga, meditation and breathwork. Ami was a wonderful host, very down-to-earth and inspiring human being. The location was beautiful, surrounded by nature and very comforting. Everyone who attended the retreat were strangers at the beginning but became friends at the end, it was beautiful. I recommend anyone who needs some soul searching or just some time away to attend one of Ami's yoga and meditation retreat. I know I will for sure attend again.Thank you Ami for creating such a beautiful space for all of us.XO
Preet Brar: I had my very first retreat with Ami and loved it. Definitely will be joining her again❤️
Mamz P: I am forever grateful for Ami and Nirvanamiwellness. When I looked at the last year 2022 October retreat at Eaglenest sanctuary, I was literally jumping because I knew my soul needed that retreat. I must say that Nirvanami wellness has been instrumental in my healing journey. During my retreat, Ami also offered Reiki, it really helped clear so much and heal, she was also so compassionate and loving, hold space for my healing. I have been hooked to self love, self discovery, thank you Ami for who you are and how you show up in the world, and most importantly how you share your gifts with the world, you are such an inspiration. I continue to work with Ami for many of her future retreats, sound healing, Reiki Wow, she is multifaceted. I highly recommend Nirvanami wellness retreats, meditation and Reiki, we all need to heal the parts of ourselves and we don’t have to do it alone by ourselves, thank you again for lighting my soul up. Love and healingMamtaXoxo
Meigan Swanson: Ami holds such grounding, healing space for people to explore their inner and outer worlds through meditation and yoga. I have had the pleasure of joining both in person yoga/meditation events as well as a 21 day online meditation journey. Her voice is mesmerizingly meditative! I highly recommend joining one of her classes or reiki sessions.
Yamini Gandesha: I did Ami’s 21 Day Meditation and loved it! I highly recommend this to anyone starting off or wanting to get into the practice of meditation. I found myself truly committed and not pressured at all. I am also looking forward to another Reiki session with Ami! My first experience of Reiki was incredible!
Arsh Gill: Meeting Ami has to be one of my key highlights of 2021. Back in August, I was looking for an opportunity to relax, unwind, and connect with myself on a deeper level. Ami’s Fort Langley retreat was a god sent and it was exactly what I needed. I was able to recalibrate because of the safe welcoming environment she creates as a hostess. I recently attended a 21 days meditation initiative led by Ami which helped me get into a habit of meditating and embrace mindfulness! Cannot thank Ami enough for her wisdom and gifts as a healer!
Aligned Creations: Was such a pleasure catering for Ami's yoga retreat last fall. She is so wonderful to work for and she held such amazing space! I can't wait to cocreate with her again and to learn from her life long experience of personal growth, devotion and following her passions!
daljit bhatti: I went to one of the retreat organized by Ami, since than my life has changed so much for the better. She gives so much of her attention, loving energy to you and ofcourse guidance that makes you feel special and attuned to yourself. Thank you ❤
Lindsey Seigo: Love Ami’s events! Her energy, wisdom and love is much needed and appreciated 🙏🏼🌟 Highly recommend attending one of her events.
Zartaj Habib: Positive:Communication,QualityAmi is great at yoga and reiki both! Go in with an open mind and heart
Tej K: Ami is a beautiful, soulful yoga teacher, and also a wonderful and inspiring human. Thankful to have met her and had the loveliest Reiki session during the most perfect yoga retreat in Langley!
Gillian Chandler: I quite literally can’t say enough complimentary or amazing things about Ami and Nirvanami. My whole retreat was relaxed and full of laughter. Every yoga class was beautiful, the food was unreal and she even had amazing gluten free substitutes. She picked a stunning location. Every single aspect just overflowed with her own heart and energy. If you have the chance to have a reiki session DO IT!!! The whole weekend was *life changing* and I’ve already requested to go on another of Nirvanami’s retreats next year!
alexandra biddell: This retreat was the most warm, welcoming, peaceful, and inspiring weekend. Thank you so much for such an incredible time, full of light, inner peace, beautiful locations, and so much grounding and inner work & realizations. Thank you!!
Lyn vo: Spent an amazing weekend at her yoga retreat. Beautiful yoga practices and calming meditations, in between great food and authenticity. Would definitely go again 🧡
Noémie K: I’ve did the Yoga retreat this year with Ami on Pender Island. I don’t know how to perfectly express my gratitude to her. I really needed this in my life at this exact moment. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done in many years for myself. Getting out of your comfort zone, going alone on a girls trip with strangers that are super open minded. Every body was wonderful and shared their own feelings and experiences. The house, the classes, the little helpers, the meals… everything was on point and made for us to feel relaxed and disconnected from the world. A peace of heaven. The Reiki session was also very helpful . Ami is an amazing human being. Thanks so much for everything you shared with me. Honestly I would have love staying a month and not only 4 days. I felt so free and lifted. So, it’s without hesitation that you should try classes or retreats with her 💕
Michaela Heldová: Just being around Ami's presence has a healing and calming effect on me and when she started her Reiki magic my back pain disappeared. The way how she takes care of her clients is unbelievable. I felt that I am important, I am being heard and loved. I was lucky to experience her yoga retreat, she put lots of love into each moment, making the experience unforgettable. I recommend Ami to anyone who is seeking honest holistic healing.
Misty Mountain Fern: Fully in bloom flowers of chestnut trees overarching my gaze up during standing poses, on a backdrop of azure sky. THIS is how yoga needs to be felt ! Wholistic, encompassing all aspects. Perfect pace, clear cues, sacred opening with centered intention. Gentle presence; wise leader. The deepest relaxation I've ever experienced out of 20+ years of going to other yoga classes. Here, true time is given for Savasana. Skilled sound healing equals incredible. Mysterious overlapping instruments wash over so my mind completely let go. Sweet transition of empowering words, sacred poem, to wish us on our way, back to city life. And all this time, we were in the middle of the city, but transported to another place.

Open Door Yoga Commercial Drive: what do users think?
Connor Brodie: Beautiful vibes, space & teachers !
Shane McLoughlin: Great experience, yoga and people... a word of warning; be prepared to pay 28$ if you're only doing one class
super trash compactor: Employees misinformed about their own policies and offer contradicting statements when issues pro up.Responding to comment from owner: Haha that's what I've been doing and they prefer to argue and deny that there's an issue.
Scott Verbeek: Great spot for yoga
Robert Parkala: Contacted Lidija Martinović Rekert directly regarding help and guidance. I live in Calgary and she didn't mention that the introductory session would take place BC time, just that it would be at 12:30pm. Waited for an hour and after contacting her again received an underwhelming response that next contact should be paid and 90 minutes long. Rude, not compassionate and can't take suggestions well. Wouldn't recommend based on this experience. Georgina, this was sent by LR directly, I haven't contacted info@. Thank you.
David Bishop: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityGreat, clean locations and a variety of teachers and classes, so you can find one (or more) that suit your style of yoga.
Nicole Stoppard: Originally I gave this studio 1 star. I feel that it was slightly unfair because my review was for their 200hr. teacher training. The studio is gorgeous with everything you need. All of the teachers are great at what they do! If I lived downtown open door yoga would be in my top three studio list!.I attended the course more than 8 years ago. Since, I have attended many other teacher trainingings in the lower mainland. Overall my experience with open door was not good which, is too bad because they were highly recommended to me by a fitness mentor. I was upset, hurt and disappointed by the way a situation was unprofessionally handled by Charlotte Juras. Another student claimed that the criticism in my "sandwich feedback"was so upsetting that she spent the whole weekend crying. My words to the student were "i felt that you didn't hold the space during savasana." (She was picking her toes!) She, the teacher leading the class and other students did not react to my feedback negatively. I'd also like to mention said woman was clearly a menopausal wreck.I was completely blindsided.....Over the phone the following weekend Charlotte attacked my character without question. She inaccurately judged me, was rude and accusatory. She even threatened to kick me out of the course without refund 2 weeks before end, without certificate. She treated me unfair and made the experience awful. She was as ridiculous as the situationMore than 5 years later gossip follwed when A flight attendant student in the course spoke of the situation to a coworker/teacher teacher running a separate training..Why am I saying this now? Well, you don't get over 14+ years in the health/fitness industry making bad reviews and burning bridges.
Desire Olexy: I was quite confused to see the below comment regarding the teacher named Kristen. She is an amazingly kind and compassionate teacher whos classes are some of the busiest at ODY! Numbers do not lie :)Open Door Yoga has many teachers who are all so special in their own way!
Milan Wells: So fun!
Kim Lett: I've been coming here for many years, and it feels like a family. When I suddenly stopped attending classes (due to a broken foot) they called and asked if everything was okay! They helped me sell my pass and were there for me when I was finally able to return to my practice after several years of healing. Thank you Open Door! You have enriched my life and soul. 3
Scott Gardner: Great studio.
Rebecca Nolan: Having a great experience so far. Very clean and love the studio and all the equiptment provided (and the tea!) I would however like to request that the lady Krishna who subbed one of my classes on Sunday do more classes here. I thoroughly enjoyed her practise and would be amazing if she held more classes at Commercial Drive!
Axel Matfin: I have been regularly going to Open Door Yoga for nearly the past year. I have numerous sports injuries and broken bones, some highlights being a broken back, leg/knee, elbows, and the range of teachers and classes at Open Door have really allowed me to be free of pain and have a range of motion that I didn't think was possible. I have taken primarily the Hatha classes for their restorative value.I have enjoyed Jennifer, Veronica, Patrice, Lorena and Randy's classes a lot. Each of them has an unique approachable style of teaching that provided different mental and physical results.
Graham Douglas: Great yoga studio with a variety of instructors. The view out the windows is nice although you can hear the noise of commercial occasionally.
Sarah Wex: Teachers are hit and miss, great intro deals if you haven't been in before. Some people I know love it here; I may have had bad luck with teachers. None have been bad, but haven't found the right fit here.
Danielli Navarro: I love practicing there. The studio is always organized, clean and provides all the equipment needed for the classes. The teachers are all GREAT! Super experienced instructors, with a lot of kindness, patience and knowledge. Students with all levels of experience are very welcome. The prices are fair and they always make good deals for the ones who really want to improve and keep practicing. Open Door Yoga definitely made me enjoy even more my staying in Vancouver and added some very special people to my life!
Stella Domnich: I love this studio. The atmosphere of inclusion and non-judgment has really allowed me to grow in my practice.
lochleen macgregor: My mom and I walked in to get some more info and they rudely kicked us out. Wouldn't even talk to is politely. Just told us that we had to leave immediately if we weren't going to join the class that hadn't started yet. I understand schedules, but I don't understand why they needed to be rude. Open door yoga is anything but.
Ron Garcia-Fogarty: Open Door Yoga is a great place for hot yoga, Monica Shannon and her staff work with people of all skill levels to improve their client's health and mindfulness through yoga.

YYOGA Kitsilano: what do users think?
Eddie Kibicho: I really enjoy going to this Yyoga location! The staff are very warm, friendly, kind and helpful. All the instructors I have had are clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about their craft as well as have a very keen sense of engagement with what is going on with every student in class. The other practitioners I have met at Yyoga have also been generally warm, kind and engaged in their practice. There's a sauna which I absolutely enjoy to sit in and relax after class. Overall the premises is very spacious and well laid out, the patio is really nice to sit in, relax and soak some sun either before or after class. The teas they provide are always delicious and refreshing. All these things make for not only a great yoga experience but a really soulful, peaceful and enriching human experience that always leaves me feeling nourished and more connected to something larger than myself.
Rachel McAdam: It was fantastic! The space is beautiful and everyone is warm and welcoming. I tried the pilates fusion class for my first time and my experience was great! Thanks so much everyone :)
Chris Martin: Regular hot practitioner. Monthly pass holder. Talented instructors from a variety of backgrounds with different approaches to what is essentially the same series means I can pick the teachers I vibe with, and always be deepening my practice whether I want to sit back a bit, or feel the fire. I am a more mindful person, stronger, and more balanced IN class, and bring that out with me into the "real world". Clean facilities, friendly staff. Five stars, Google? I say SIX.
Melanie L: Like the instructors, class variety and Harrison the supervisor is nice but overall do not like how corporate their studios are run and front desk have poor customer service—the way I am spoken to by them makes me not want to return. Creates the opposite feeling of what you’re seeking from a yoga studio.
Lily Rogers: Such a friendly and warm atmosphere, clean facilities, and top notch instructors.
Megan: As someone who yard been practicing yoga for 10+ years, I have never had a truly worse session. The studio was absolutely filthy and had obviously not been cleaned in some time with hair, dirt, and who knows what else all over the floor. They shove so many people into one space you can barely move without hitting your neighbours. I had signed up for a yoga Pilates fusion class, but this was neither of these. The instructor was clearly not certified as she gave very poor instructions and the flow between movements could actually be dangerous to one’s body. About a quarter of the class was just stepping to the best of the music. I will never be going back.
lisa leo: love this studio, staff is always friendly and the space is clean and inviting.
Sarka Malochova: The worst experience ever. Parking nightmare, staff don’t even let you in even if you come 1 minute before class. Because they have strict rules. I wasn’t let in to class which started 3:30 and I came 3:29!!!lost my money and lost my interest to this studio. Don’t recommend, place should try harder because I see now bad reviews are just from me.
cm: As good as a yoga studio gets. Good instructors, friendly staff, in a clean and chill facility, at fair prices.During the pandemic, I bought their discounted class passes fully knowing I may not be able to use those passes for a while, and I did so just to support this local business. Yyoga kept their word and let us pass holders delay the activation date of those passes for more than a year (if I remember correctly), and kept us in the loop with periodic email updates on the studio re-opening schedule. Even though Yyoga's nearest location to me did not survive the pandemic, this location is a great replacement for me!
Gregg Peacock: The studio is decent, but as a business I am extremely disappointed with this company. The membership options are designed to take your money. You have to dig around for the ridiculous terms (why would passes expire???) for each membership and you can't easily cancel or alter your membership without having to go through an extensive email exchange.Clearly, they're more interesting in having people's paid classes expire than they are about providing wellness services. I use a similar business in the neighbourhood who is not only flexible but will even give you a free class if you didn't have a good experience.
Azin Z: Friendly, caring and supportive staffTalented, encouraging and passionate teachersClean and beautiful studioWish they add early bird classes starting 6:30 in the morning 😍
Toly Vasilyev: At the beginning of the year I put my membership on hold because they couldn't offer hot classes. Today I decided to reactivate my membership with a few paid classes remaining & was very excited to attend a class. Unfortunately their website wouldn't allow me to login, none would pick up the phone (several attempts) and when I showed up 20 min before the class to reactivate it in person I was told that I have to wait for 72hrs. In the meantime I'm more than welcome to buy another membership to attend this class. Super nice & sweet humans working at the front desk & teaching classes, but the bureaucratic red tape is absurd...
Starleigh Grass: Beautiful space, great teachers, wide range of options. Pricey but you get what you pay for!
jason p: tried a hot yoga class for the first time the other day, staff at the front desk were nice and helpful. Would come back again.
Liza Deyrmenjian: The space is always very clean
Karolina: Great and beautiful studio with knowledgeable instructors and several locations to choose from.
Henry Phan: Don't sweat it, or do!
Maryel Sparks: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,QualityDon't bother coming here anymore. It used to be a good place but now if you don't show up exactly 10 minutes before the class starts and not a minute later they will lock you out and waste your money and your time.
Ryan Chisholm: Amazing. I’ve practiced at the 4th Ave YYoga location for 5+ years. Highly recommended. Atmosphere, teachers, room lit with Sunlight, sauna, patio. When I’m mentally, physically or otherwise needing energized this is my favourite studio. Always clean, always friendly. I’ve been to a few dozen yoga studios in a dozen cities across the west coast in US and Canada over 10 years and this one is the best. With the new Covid street patios along 4th, you can finish yoga and walk outside 20 feet to enjoy friends and a taco. Well done YYoga.
Maria Yoma: I would put 0 stars if I could. I arrived exactly at the time of the class. 18.30 and they had the door locked. I called as now one answered the door. And they said they opened 10 minutes later and that there was nothing they could do. That they couldn’t let me in as they have “straight policies” I had booked the class via the ClassPass so I they didn’t let me in I would have to pay extra 15cad on top of the class. They didn’t care. After I complained with the ClassPass, they were the ones that apologized and refund me. The studio didn’t do anything but closed the door on my face. Awful experience after having worked 10 hours and driving 30’ to get to this class. Never ever coming again
