Pear Tree Elementary: what do users think?
Vanja: Pear Tree School is a forefront leader in childhood education. Their innovative theme-based methodology coupled with real-life knowledge application sets Pear Tree apart from all other schools in Vancouver. Pear Tree equips students with the skills and confidence to understand the challenges of the world in which they live, recognizing their responsibility towards others, the environment, and themselves.Lead by an exceptional team of Masters prepared teachers, the school offers an outstanding breadth of educational experiences, encourages academic intrigue, and sets the stage for lifelong learning. Enthusiasm for academic endeavor lies at the heart of the school, stimulating students to think deeply and explore ideas beyond the curriculum. Every pupil is encouraged to be curious, creative, critically aware, and to develop their passion and talent to their fullest potential. Pear Tree provides students with an abundance of opportunities to discover, pursue, and develop their skills, talents, and interests while being empowered to flourish and build healthy relationships with others and with the community.Pear Tree has a holistic student approach which ensures every member of the school feels valued, supported and encouraged, and has the confidence and determination to respond to setbacks in a resilient manner. Children are nurtured into confident, outgoing, inquiring, and creative young people. The faculty, students, and parents recognize and celebrate the benefits of having a diverse school community, in which individuals value themselves, one another, and the different contributions that everyone can make in the classroom, our wider neighborhood, and the world. It has been an absolute privilege having my child attend Pear Tree; I recommend the school whole-heartedly to families.
Darrick Boyes: It was a delight to see such a bright, and positive environment. Healthy and happy children excited to learn. I know that we are lucky to have progressive learning schools like this, and it definitely gave me hope for a better way to bring the best out of our children. The staff and the children all smiling and the chef cooking healthy food for the children. This would have been a dream come true when I was a kid.
Bob Li: the chef is a very good chef and he makes good food too
Delaram Norani: We decided to look for a private school after the pandemic hit. First of all, they never disclosed the fact that they have a group three certificate which means they are considered a school that doesn't have follow BC's curriculum. I found out about that after I called the FISA.The co-owner is a very unprofessional person that obviously only cares about money. I sent an email notifying the school that my daughter wouldn't attend PT. Below is his exact response. Very disappointing response from a school that its main goal should be kids' education."Regardless of your decision, the 1st tuition payment of $5,757 is still due at the end of May, as per your contractual agreement. This can be paid by cheque or e-transfer."The principal listens to your concern, but never really takes action as she believes, the school knows what they are doing and we as parents shouldn't interfere in what happens at school.Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would rather send my child to a public school and hire tutors instead of sending my child to an incompetent school like Pear Tree.Below is my husband's review that keeps getting deleted:Positives;this is a small, 50 student school that escaped the distractions of Covid because of its size.the project based learning approach is an interesting way to educate – if executed properlyNegatives; This is a “group three” independent school (link below) that is not obligated to follow BC curriculum or test to it. In fact, they are very reluctant to do any substantive testing to reassure parents that they are educating appropriately. "Trust us" is the operative phrase they use. They are not rated by the Fraser Institute, nor would they want to be we suspect. This is somewhat disingenuous, as Pear Trees marketing material claims that they are a "top Private School" without any effort to substantiate this, and indeed a stated school aversion to ”testing”. In our opinion, the level of education provided is inferior to that of the private school our daughter is now attending. The school facilities are “Spartan”, to say the least.Pear Tree is a tenant in a class C (old), unsecured commercial building and has no gym, no change facilities, no library, no campus, no auditorium, no music rooms, no cafeteria, no computer lab -these would be considered basic amenities for a "Top Private School".There is administrative dysfunction - for both terms, report cards (which provide little in the way of progress information for your child) were provided several days later than promised, and for term 1 were lacking in any mention of term progress – in their words, the school needed to “remedy the oversight" with a revised report some days later still. The particular teacher for grades 5-7 we unfortunately rate as poor to mediocre based on our parent teacher meets, feedback from our daughter, and feedback from other parents. In addition, she was absent from class for in excess of a month of school, and the school was not capable of providing a suitable substitute replacement. We believe teacher quality is THE critical factor in education quality. When we communicated our specific concerns with the principal, she informed us that she was in a much better position to evaluate the quality of her staff as a "professional educator" and defensively and summarily dismissed our concerns. Conclusion; We decided to move our child to St. Johns, as did other parents, as she faced two more years with this teacher and an unresponsive school which sees fit to charge top dollar for a poor to mediocre educational experience.
Dylan D: Not recommended-there are many good reasons to have your child attend a private school in BC including seeking a superior education and facilities. And if you are paying $15-26,000 in tuition, you should, at a minimum, expect these benefits.Unfortunately, Pear Tree can only offer a hot lunch.
Zahra Hudani: We love Pear Tree. It truly has a community feel. We appreciate the regular communication channels available to us as parents and feel informed throughout the year. They are also really responsive to any concerns or feedback which is important for us as parents. The group of staff are wonderful, very smart and kind, and focused on each individual students’ needs. They have built an inclusive environment and their project-based learning approach is practical and impactful. Our daughter has grown so much, both socially and academically, since being there. We also love their focus on being active and healthy. Our daughter absolutely loves the healthy hot lunch program and it takes a huge load off us as parents with meal preparation. They have PE everyday and some fun programs too like skating, yoga and gymnastics. We highly recommend Pear Tree!
Kate Chase: Pear Tree has been a wonderful experience for our daughter. In terms of academics, the project based learning approach is implemented with an enormous amount of planning and thought, and it shows in the high quality of the children's work! Pear Tree kids are learning to think deeply and critically about the big issues of our day.Socially, Pear Tree is a warm, welcoming environment and teachers are focused on fostering positive relationships and an understanding of diversity. We feel so lucky as a family to have discovered Pear Tree, and are excited to see what high school brings!
Irina Mackay: If you are looking for a school that fosters children's love for learning and helps them grow as confident, responsible and kind people then look no further! Our son started attending Pear Tree in Kindergarten and is now finishing Grade 1. He started off as shy and introverted and has since blossomed with confidence and is a lot more comfortable with public speaking and interpersonal relations. The reading and math skills acquired at Pear Tree surpass those of many other kids his age. We believe that this is due to Pear Tree's approach to education through project based learning which keeps students engaged and allows to apply their skills to real life concepts. Our son is always coming home excited about the themes explored at school and has developed a love for learning at Pear Tree. One of the other amazing things about this school is that they have an in house kitchen and chef and serve daily fresh meals and snacks to the students! Our son used to be very picky when it came to eating but since attending Pear Tree he is a lot more open minded to trying a variety of foods. As parents this is also very convenient for us since we don't have to worry about packing a lunch or snacks and we know that he is eating healthy and fresh food while at school. All teachers and staff are amazing educators and really care about students as individuals. The communication is excellent and we are always updated about our son's daily activities through the Fresh Grade app.The school also places a strong emphasis on physical education, with daily PE time and different activities such as yoga, gymnastics as even parkour! Our middle son is joining Pear Tree next year and we will be also sending our daughter to this school when it comes time for her to join kindergarten. We are delighted to have found this amazing community and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this school as an overall excellent choice for both academic and personal growth.
Sandrine Espie: Our son joined PearTree last year. He is now in grade 3, and our decision to change school for PearTree was the best decision for his socio-emotional and intellectual development. Pear Tree offers project-based learning opportunities. Kids develop various hands-on experiences as well as creative, artistic, engaging, collaborative, and fun projects. The small classes and combined grades enhance leadership and a sense of cooperation and peer support between students. The themes that students worked on every semester address some of the most pressing issues that this generation will need to understand, i.e. exploring their natural environment by going on various field trips to study birds, bees, weather and landforms.Pear Tree curriculum includes daily PE, music classes, french (all the teachers are bright, responsive and engaging). The school has a fantastic chef who cooks hot lunch on site (which exposes students to different flavours, textures, cultures etc.). PearTree's learning environment is challenging (in a positive way), supportive, vibrant, creative. I've seen my child flourish, and I know he will thrive this year thanks to the dedicated, experienced, and professional staff.
Crystal Ehresman: Pear Tree is the best option in the city for busy parents. Their curriculum is well-rounded in arts and athletics which really takes the pressure off from finding extracurricular activities. The days are extended compared to public schools, and there is a before and/or after-school care option. This was a huge relief to me because my schedule requires flexibility. I love not having to pack lunches or provide snacks. The in-school chef saves me the time and mental energy that comes with meal prep and I can count on nutritious snacks and lunches. Most importantly, the faculty, staff and students are wonderful people, and I know my daughter is well-cared for.
Penny Chuang: Our daughter attended Pear Tree Elementary since kindergarten. Their project-based learning really showed a different approach compared to traditional education. The teachers, the staff, and the kids work collectively and really make up a warm and welcoming environment. Pear Tree does not just focus on academic results, but rather shaping our kid to be growing in all aspects of life, into becoming a better part of the community. In addition, their hot lunch program provides healthy and various choices everyday, shout out to chef Borja! We are more than satisfied of what our daughter has been able to achieve and learn here. Our second daughter will be graduating pre-school next year, and needless to say, Pear Tree is our one and only choice for her as well!
Ryusei Koyama: I was a student at pear tree, and this school was the best school I ever went in my life! The cook’s food is really healthy AND good!
Luna G: Pear tree elementary is a small but exceptional school in Vancouver. My son could adjust well thanks to their careful attention and full support when we moved to this new city. My son loves Pear Tree’s tailored approach to teaching and learning. He’s learning how to learn in PTE. In particular, I like this about the school. PTE offers a variety of activities and special classes, so children can have diverse experiences. One more thing I must tell you is the best teachers with passion and professionalism. I highly recommend PTE.
Cailin Broere: We recently moved to Vancouver from Hong Kong where our daughter attended a top international school. We really wanted to keep her level of learning consistent with what she had experienced in HK and hoped to find a school that shared our values and also provided a diverse and global outlook. We found Pear Tree in our search and have been truly impressed.Pear Tree is a small school but its founders are committed to educating the whole child. Social, emotional and dietary health are all considered and nurtured on a daily basis. The PE program and outdoor learning opportunities are fantastic. Borja, the school chef, ensures that my daughter is eating healthy, hot meals and saves me so much time and stress during the week. Picking up my daughter from school and having her excitedly show me the perfect seashell that she found on her morning trip to the beach is really just one of the many aspects that make Pear Tree so special. If you are familiar with the PYP curriculum and its values and principles, I really encourage you to consider Pear Tree in your search. Innovative, enquiry-based learning is alive and well here.
Ryan Liu: Pear Tree is an excellent elementary school. Even though, the school is small but it's packed with everything your children need to know. Their directors and teachers are very friendly. Their staff knows every single child's name. I can see that all the students are having fun learning at school.
Lynn Wang: We went to the school when my son was 3 and we really impressed the education environment. Although the school is small and located in an office building, the kids still have plenty of space here and there. what we like the best is the school using most updated social events as study case and make us feel like our son is communicating with the society. very good school and very nice teachers.
Qin Luo: It is the best school for us, our oldest child studies in community 3 and she likes everything in this place ,and we hope our second child and youngest child could study at Peartree in near future!
Qin Zhang: Fantastic! It has a very friendly and respectful environment, my daughter Eva started at Peartree in September 2018, she was very shy and speak a little English at that time, but now she is very confident and enjoy everyday in Peartree, moreover she loves every Peartree's staff and students!By the way, Louisa Chen is really amazing!
Line Aune: What an inspiring place Pear Tree is! Our daughter started at Pear Tree Elementary last fall after loosing motivation at her previous school. After just a short while, after school starting, she started to love school again and she doesn't even want to leave at pick-up time.My daughter enjoys being in a class with other grades, where it is most important to excel on your own level. All students are closely followed up by their enthusiastic teacher. The teacher continuously keeps the students eager to learn by using different tools ; visual, arts and crafts, field trips and new technology, as well as using interesting themes as background. And how cool isn't it to have snake or salmon eggs hatching in the classroom? We also love that the school focuses on nutritious food and physical education every day (during last half year they have had martial arts, skating, yoga, climbing, dance class and a lot of different activities outside with Mr M)!All the above makes an excellent foundation for our child and I strongly recommend the school.
Neda Shahbandian: Today I went to this school for privet tour , after half an hour delay its manager (Paul) was coming he behaved completely impolite toward us, without any sorry for delay. He didn't show us anythings and just asked "what is your question?" when I asked my question he said :"there are all answers in their website". On the other hand this school is so bad and really small like a small daycare , I never will register my daughter in horrible school.
Ivy Irem Dreger: Our daughter started Pear Tree in September (Grade 2). After 3 years in a very elite and popular co-educational private school, we wanted something less traditional and more creative and innovative for her. She was getting bored and losing her creative spark. Even though she had no academic or emotional issues, she wasn’t very happy and wanted to be challenged.Pear Tree is a breath of fresh air for her because she gets to create new things daily and there is no time for boredom. She gets so much attention thanks to the small class size. Lessons are always connected to real life and incorporate so many different subjects. Project based learning is very beneficial for sparking creativity and mimicking real life work environment. Kids need to work in groups frequently and complete tasks together in a timely manner. All work is always completed and accounted for. You don’t end up with piles of half completed work at the end of the term. Kids are always out and about and go to so many educational and fun field trips. The PE and music programs are amazing. Thanks to her encouraging PE teacher, she participated at a cross country race even though running is not her forte. After only one term she already plays songs with her ukulele! The hot food program is amazing. Their chef prepares everything from scratch and makes very creative, healthy dishes. No more packing lunches and worrying about her veggie consumption!Pear Tree is a very special school. It might look small from outside, but somehow manages to fit a much bigger and more creative world into its space compared to a lot of schools with elaborate campuses. Paul and Alexis put so much effort into creating an outstanding education experience for all. They hire top notch teachers and staff that are so dedicated to their craft. Pear Tree is what 21st century education should be.Our daughter loves her school and never wants to miss a day. We feel so fortunate to be a part of Pear Tree family.

West Point Grey Academy: what do users think?
Sam King: Cool, they have free wifi with the name wpga-72 and the passwd w1pg23456aThe other network like “secure” or something takes your data and tracks you, so make sure that you use this one to keep your information private and secure. I learned this the hard way when my data was tracked!
lu jiang: Applied for the school for JK as we live in the neiborhood. Teacher who is on the video interviewing the kid was rude, arrogant and unprofessional. Without self introduction, speaking fast with poker face and ended the session rudely without basic manner. I emailed head office but they did not care to response. I guess there is the atitude they want to show.
Bradley Jones: Exception staff and learning experience. I have had the pleasure of dealing with staff and students at WPGA. The school is a model of educating minds as well a model of inspiring spirit. Education is more than addition and regurgitation it is an experience of how to think and work with team members and the community. If all schools could create this experience our next generation would be so much better off.
cecilia: besttt
Monika Herrmann: Best private school in BC.
PoopScoop: idk I come to this school sooooo it's good enough?
Freddy Huang: Friendly staffs, top school in BC.
Bella Carter: Such an amazing school, so lucky to have been apart of it for the past five years
Cyrus Behroozi: Good quality of education. Somewhat strict with formalities
han ji: Yo
Aaron Bohnen: Definitely the best secondary school experience I've seen. A strong ethos of achievement and compassion infuses the whole organization. Students are energetic, faculty are passionate and parents are supportive. It's a privilege to be part of.

Startup Skool: what do users think?
John Goranson: Startup Skool mentors guided my 8 year-old son to create a company, design a product, market it with his own DIY website, and present it to angel investors. He loved the process and will build on these skills in future camps. I was so impressed by both the process and the staff's dedication.
Alexander Chen: I joined Startup Skool for 2 summers and I really enjoyed the camp a lot!! I made new friends and had fun learning about starting a business. We had to ask ourselves 'what business should we create'? We brainstormed ideas and did detailed business research. I enjoyed making products and selling them to customers. I also had the opportunity to give a presentation to an audience and answer some questions they had about my business idea. I am now more aware of businesses around me when I go shopping. I think about the target market, location, what product or service they provide, how they treat their customers, if they have good quality suppliers, if they have a good business name, as well how how profitable the business is. I know I have a lot more to learn so I'm looking forward to another summer at Startup Skool!
R Bains: I came across Startup Skool by chance when my husband sent me a link of a course that might be of interest for our daughter. It was the most enjoyable and amazing educational experience we have had in a long time. We have done several "camps" and "courses" in the past but have yet to find one with such an honest interest by the instructors for each child to get the most out of the course. Their goal is to teach the children about entrepreneurship and how to use tools available to assist them on their ventures. They went above and beyond to ensure the children understood everything and were able to apply all the lessons to their real life start-up businesses.I would highly recommend Startup Skool to any parent looking for a space to help their child learn about business, tech and all things now!

LSI Vancouver ( English language school): what do users think?
Julia Góes: Great school, with great teachers and staff. An amazing place to learn and make some good friends from all around the world. The location of the school is also excelent
Sofia: BAD SERVICE, BAD SCHOOL, ALL OF THE THINGS THAT THEY SHOW IN THE PAGE IS FAKE. THEY DO NOT RESPECT YOU AND DO NOT HAVE ORDEN TAKING ABOUT THE CLASSES.

Juanjo Ville: Positive:Quality
Bahadir Cohadar: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Deutsche Sprache: I took a course in LSI. I would see my experiences was not good. I did ..not learn something new or just practicing what I know with different way , the teachers were nice and I love them but for me that was not enough. one of the weak points was the lack of examples when they explain grammar or vocabulary and that makes the thing that we study less memorable , I go to class and come back again to the class but I did notice any improvement.
Bruno Benatti: Incredible
Edgardo Augusto Mendoza: Me atendieron muy amablemente! Además ofrecen cursos de verano, que duran un mes aproximadamente. Ideal para un curso de vacaciones!

If you are looking for somewhere that will support your learning needs and approve of LGBTQ2S+ and trans rights, it’s Mulgrave!“I’m just happy Mulgrave supports the LGBTQ2S+ and people from everywhere. Jacob Lei: Ethan Wang is my teacher for debate. Mulgrave did really well in the world scholar cup!ps I go to Westbay with Ethans brother Aiden
Iris Lo: We're so happy with our experience in Mulgrave. School is exceptional - from teachers to support staff to the community overall. Offerings are great and the school is so innovative. Our daughter is thriving there and we cannot wait for our second one to join this fall. Mulgrave has such a strong and tight-knit community!
Zhaoer Zhang: All three children in my family attend Mulgrave School. It has been seven years since my eldest daughter joined the school at the age of 3. Throughout this process, we have been very satisfied with the school. The teachers have a very good teaching level, and are very patient and friendly, and will communicate with parents in a timely manner. Children are happy to go to school every day. The school also has Chinese classes, four times a week, and the Chinese teacher will also give free after-school tutoring to some children in need.At the same time, the school has a unique community culture that is diverse and inclusive, and families, teachers, and other staff of all ethnicities get along well here. So, one of the reasons schools don't enroll in many grades is because no families want to leave, no places are available.
Cristina Fabio: We are so happy with Mulgrave since we joined the school 6 years ago! They build an extraordinary environment for our kids to grow as open minded thinkers with a great responsibility in their community!
Edmond W: Mulgrave is one of the most competitive schools in Vancouver, and for good reason. Not only is it amazingly impressive on the outside, but this extends through to the friendliness and professionalism of the leadership and the attention provided by the teachers. The facility is second to none, the IB curriculum is excellent, the after-school activities are extensive, and the students are genuinely happy to be there. Of the many dozens of Mulgrave parents who I've met, every one has had nothing but praise for the school.
sarira molaie: Since the first day I entered the school for a tour, I knew that I want my kids to study and graduate there! After 7 years of experiencing life in this fantastic community, not only me but my kids have no doubt about it.Mulgrave is not just a school, it becomes your second family with strong sense of belonging for students and pleasant experience of parents watching their kids thrive with the professional, caring and supportive teachers and staff, also all the world class facilities that creates the opportunity to all students to become the best version of themselves.
Flora Song: Best school ever! All my kids are attending Mulgrave, it meets the needs for every kid. Lots of sports, lots of learning and supporting programs. Teachers and staffs are the best! They are always there for me. My family is proud of Mulgrave in all ways.
ji hong: my family's dream school~Love Mulgrave(♡ ὅ ◡ ὅ )ʃ♡
Rose Smith: Sorry to see this school has too much discrimination!!
Daniel Wu: They do deserve credit for being really fancy (They literally have someone to respond to the ratings) but they put way more money into making themselves look fancy but boy does their education suck
meg h: eat the rich
Daniel: In my past experience of mulgrave, this has been a fair school. Hospitable environments, a range of activities, and very observant staff members that provide a good learning environments.Things that Mulgrave that have done not-so-well are its food providers. As many people complain about here-and-there, the 'food' tuition is actually around 5k a year. I know Mulgrave have signed a 5-year contract with the food providers, but they are INCREASING prices every term, which is absolutely scamming.Raising the food prices just reinforce the stereotypes of :a. Cafeteriasb. Mulgrave.c. Students' attitudes.I hope this can change Mulgrave attitude towards food. I'd much rather eat at a bad - tasting restaurant then an overpriced one.edit: I wrote this review around 3 years ago. In those three years my attitude towards Mulgrave's education has remained the same and always have been satisfactory and now I have come to especially value to amount the amount of resources Mulgrave provides - on the basis of education, careers, sports, etc. A lot of people have come and asked to me what the main difference between Mulgrave and other schools are, and that would probably be my answer. (Although my attitude towards the cafeteria will always be stagnant, education is the priority)
Raymond Zhang: Mulgrave the best at XC!
Josh “MrSmart”: I love this school!, the teachers are great, the campus is comfortable and very modern, the staff is nice.Recommended.
Erin Griffiths: This is a wonderful school! From the teachers, the administration, the facilities and the overall supportive but still challenging academic environment. I really can’t say enough great things about this school!
Alfred Jeffrey: This is a great school overall, I have many friends who graduated and loved the experience. They provide some of the best programs in Vancouver and the facilities are very modern and up to date. The area surrounding the school is also beautiful and has plenty of nature and great atmosphere.
Daniel Fasihi: good school
刘泽瑞: I love this school, even if I have never stayed in it! I love love love this school. I even love u!

Alexander Academy: what do users think?
Will Chin: Graduating Student of 2022 - 2023 here, I would like to start off by saying that I had the privilege of learning here at Alexander Academy for both grades 11 and 12. I would describe Alexander Academy as an environment that is welcoming, supportive and determined to help you succeed. I found that in my time here, I got the help that I needed to help me succeed and to grow into a person that I can be proud of his accomplishments. Another thing I’d like to comment on is the connections and relationships that students here at Alexander Academy form with their teachers, is something you won’t find at most other schools, it is truly something special.
Safina Merchant: Studying at Alexander Academy is a great experience for me. I really like the environment over here, teachers who are always helpful and are willing to answer any questions you have. Students here are from all countries, which makes it much better to know people across the world. The staff is amazing, the teaching and learning method is put out for students perfectly. It's the best high school in Downtown, Vancouver!
Clair Choufani: In 2021, I joined Parent Advisory Council (PAC) at Alexander Academy. I was a member for 2 years.I had the chance to get to know teachers and other school staff through PAC. Additionally, it enabled me to express my opinions, give back, and participate whenever feasible in school-related activities. It was a fantastic way to stay involved and informed about all the current/future events/activities at school. I also was able to meet other parents and interact with them. One of the most significant benefits of being a PAC member for me was that it enabled me to serve as a positive role model for my daughter by volunteering and showing appreciation for the school.Giving back to the staff and students of the school was a wonderful experience for me. If parents wish to get more involved in their children's education, I encourage them to participate as well.
emaelena: Amazing school! Loved my time here so much. Teachers are extremely dedicated, welcoming, friendly and are great at explaining and teaching in various methods. Students are passionate and energetic and make the campus feel like a very safe place. Going to school in Downtown Vancouver is a cool experience.
Linda Petersson: We can highly recommend Alexander Academy for anyone considering placing their child abroad at an international High School. We are a Swedish family and our daughter experienced a fantastic year in Vancouver thanks to the professional teachers, excellent staff and great students that quickly included her and they became new friends, some of them for life I ’m sure.We experienced the best service from the very first contact. Starting with a professional interview between the school and parents/student, great information were given upon starting school and moving to a new country learning new custums, this was very helpful for a student.Through out the year academically, we were satisfied as well as with our daughter self-development progress. We were very impressed with how quick the school where able to switch into online-learning during the COVID-19 situation. Our daughter managed to achieve her goals even what struggle the Corona- pandemic brought us all, for that we will always be grateful to the staff of Alexander Academy and their excellent job with their students. We will truly give them our highest recommendations!!Kind regards,Mrs Linda PeterssonMother of Luna Petersson, Class of 2020
Lyazzat K: An amazing school with students all over the world. Lovely place to study and to have an unforgettable experience.
Focus Onfootball: Love ❤️
Ivan: i saw ur ad. very cool
Joanna Vancouver: Alexander Academy is a wonderful place for local as well as international students to study. The smaller class sizes allow for excellent attention to each student. There are many field trips and opportunities to connect with the community. The school also offers great support to students who are learning English. It is located in a beautiful building in a central location right in the heart of Vancouver.
Liz Prehauser: A life-changing experience. We feel no less than this when we see the changes in our son. From improved grades to a positive outlook, self-esteem and confidence. At Alexander Academy our son is flourishing and is happy. Next year our daughter will attend for sure. The teachers are also wonderful and very dedicated and we feel fortunate to have found this school.

Bodwell High School: what do users think?
Viva Mexico y Iran alv
behnood gholampoor: Anxiety, stress in one package. They literally do not care about student life and mental health. As a student who was there for more than a year, i can say most of us were dealing with stress and anxiety the whole time. For a extrovert person like me Bodwell is prison.
Vicke Lash: It is very important
serenella: My daughter had a wonderful experience at Bodwell. She had the chance to meet outstanding teachers, wonderful staff and new friends from all over the world.A perfect organization, based on strict rules with a kind approach,a perfect educational setting. She will remember for ever the year spent at Bodwell.
Xin Li: good
Darren: Best school for academics!!!!! Come, if you have the money.
M E: Tuition is not cheap, but it worth!I graduated from this school in 2010s. I'm happy to see this school is expanding and offering more of programs to students from all over the world :)
soudabeh mousavi: For the past three years, my son has attended Bodwell School as an international student. Officials at the school have been accommodating and supportive throughout the process. Due to Covid 19pandemic, this was quite remarkable, and I can conceive of the following as positive aspects of this collection:well organized administrative structure, professional academic advisors, particularly Ms. Arian Talvardi (Iranian consultant), oversight of students' educational and moral concerns, and support and expert guidance for choosing a good college and excellency's unparalleled compassion, effort, and effort in education and the transfer of valuable information and experiences, as well as establishing an intimate and friendly relationship with students' seekers and creating a pleasant environment for acquiring knowledge and understanding the conditions of students last year, were greatly appreciated by my family. Finally, I'd like to express my gratitude to anyone at Bodwell High School who has supported and directed our children throughout their education, particularly Miss Talwerdi, Miss Zandi, Mr. Chaffey, Mr. Goobie, and Mr. Hallis.
Sahar Bazgir: My son has been an international student at Bodwell School for two years. School officials have guided and helped us a lot in all stages. Among the positive points of this collection, I can name the following:very regular administrative system, responsible academic advisors, especially Ms. Arian Talvardi, supervision of students' educational and moral issues, support And professional advice for choosing college and university.
Ayub Mohamed: Hi I am from Africa kenya,Their is so much poverty here . I have so much knowledge and my school is closed due to terrorism , I would like to learn in Bodwell high school if there is any space here .pleased🙏🙏
Dor Faraji: This school is totally great? I just wanted to know how much is the tuitionPlease answer me soon
Peggy: The teacher SORAYA RAJAN is the most awful teacher ever. Not only does she have no clue how to teach, she is very unprofessional, she doesn't know what she is teaching and has a clear biase and discrimination upon certain students. I was in one of her classes, and I have no idea how she managed to become a teacher in the first place, a lot of students and by a lot I can def say that almost all the students in her class have gathered together and filed a compliant(s) against her, but apperantly the school doesn't want to do anything about it. She is not good at her job at all, please sack this teacher and get a btter one
Max: !I have been studying here for 2 years! Pros of this school: A lot of professional teachers, clean, lots of space, they provide computers for those who can’t afford them. Cons: other staff doesn’t care about you, the nurse is not a professional and she doesn’t care if students are ill; I was forced to attend school with fever, students are not isolated if sick, so your child will anyways get infected along with all other students. Cleaning staff are stealing students property. Mr. Macintosh was threatening me, saying that he will “lower [my] marks”, that he “already hates [me]” and that if I will get his course in the future I would better drop it, and all of this is because I brought water on the assembly, bless god it was my last days in this school. Counselors that suppose to help young student to adapt to the environment to the most parts don’t care about students, so the poisonous environment in school is killing mental health of young generation. The school will try to pull the money out of your pockets in any way possible, for example they will charge you for the free insurance (800 bucks) (the MSP was free before 2020). And probably they won’t return your deposits.
Marimiusic Xy: Hello, my name is Fabiola and I would like to request information and requirements since I would like to study in that place and I am from El Salvador. Thank youHola . gracias
Libing Cao: The school environment is very good. A variety of facilities are available. The management here is said to be very strict. This is really helpful for students who want to improve their grades. It is close to the sea and the scenery is good. But public transportation is somewhat inconvenient. The school provides a school bus service.
Cyrus Owrangi: The boarding system provides a nurturing enviroment that paves the way for you to get your act together and discipline yourself. The community is amiable and you'll find people from all around the world in uneven porportions. It's a good choice if you have the money.
Sazzatur Zaman Ovi: I'm from Bangladesh. Can i study in this School? I want to complete my 11-12 from it. Can I do it?
Naomi Etukudo: After a few days at Bodwell, I felt right at home. Sure, different people might have different experiences but I can honestly say that some of my happiest moments in life thus far were made possible because of the 8 months I spent in Bodwell.Like anything in life, the school isn't perfect and there's always room for improvement but the experience is about what you make it. For me, it was honestly everything. From the amazing people I developed strong bonds with very quickly - students and staff included -, to the fact that they gave me the opportunity to discover my passion for volunteering and performance poetry; I will never forget my time spent there.Even when I go back to visit, it still feels like home. Sometimes, I even just call the front desk or boarding to talk to staff who have remained from when I was there and it brings me so much joy. I learned so much about myself while I was there. I cherish every moment - from hours spent after school with Miss Jinny, Miss Amber, and Miss Bailey at the front desk, to deep, self-reflective, fun conversations with Miss Mercedes and Miss Dalziel, and being genuinely interested (which rarely happens for me) in classes with Mr. Chiu and Mr. McMurray. So, for all the unforgettable moments, I really appreciate all the staff at Bodwell and all my amazing friends who have graduated or still go there.
Mark - Slava Ukraine: Yo guys school is actually lit
Alex Shahbazfar: Bodwell has been one of the most valuable experiences for me in my life. It has helped me meet a great number of amazing people-student peers, teachers, counselors, and so on. Personally, the citizenship office at Bodwell is my home. Ms. May and Ms. Mercedes are always there to help you with WHATEVER that is going on in your life besides academics they can help you highlight and discover your aptitudes in the community and in your own life. The student counselors in bodwell are really amazing— Ms. Kim and Ms. Dalziel have always helped me in selecting my courses, finding the right universities, and guiding me in and about my academic career. My teachers were absolutely wonderful, they were all experienced and educated in the field they were teaching and I always enjoyed staying after school or after class to talk to discuss with them class non-relevant matters and I have gained so many insights and perspectives in doing so. I have made so many best friends and have learned so much about different cultures around the world, including my own.

Cousteau School, The French International School of Vancouver: what do users think?
Katie Matthews: Love this school, and am so happy we found it. My child is in their second year of the pre-school, and is thriving. We've had an exceptionally kind, creative, and wonderful teacher, and the kids are always doing really cool art, science, and learning projects. The after school activities (Petites Chef, Zumba, Karate, and more) and daycare is great for working parents. My daughter entered Cousteau with zero French (we only speak English at home), and after close to two years, she understands everything, can speak and respond to her teacher in French, and has learned so much! We've also found a great community of friends within the school.
A F: Brittany Mills and Maxence Baudry breached into my private life, unlawful and unacceptable. They cannot be relied upon for taking care of children.
CT: The French eco-school par excellence!
b vahedi: Three of our children did attend Cousteau before entering the Canadian public school at grade 9. They all did very well. Our fourth child is still at Cousteau and will soon integrate the Canadian public system as well. We are confident that he will excel with the strong academic education he has received at Cousteau.Thank you Cousteau staff for the great work you are doing.
Arnaud BUSSIERES: We have put our daughter in this school since pre-K (maternelle grande section) and will put our son from next year. Hands down the best school in the Vancouver area for so many reasons: French and English education following French and British Columbia curriculums, eco-school label teaching environment values to kids, small classes, amazing teachers and staff, and above all kids are happy and growing with great values and great attitudes. Could not recommend enough.
Hubert SCACHE: Amazing school! High skilled teacher in an wonderful eco-environment. Lots of activities proposed for kids personal development.Admin at the top! Do not hesitate a second!!!
Iryna Scache: My children LOVE this school – from the teachers to the students to the challenging curriculum, French and Canadian. The Multicultural environment, friendly spirit and perfect bilingualism of kids. Cousteau School integrates compassion into their teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons. One of the best educational programs in BC!Though it is a small school, it allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving children more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the teachers.Teachers are passionate about seeing their students succeed. They are so great about sharing moments of pride they see within your child – their good behaviors and achievements. The School offers all kind of extra activities at school what is super convenient and the kids have a large choice (you can choose two activities per day from Monday till Friday). The kids could have fun while the parents are working .If you leave far away from school, you can use the school bus in the morning and in the afternoon (at 3:10 pm or 5:30 pm).Cousteau School offers a perfect environment to offer your kid the best education and make your kid happy!Great team – great school!
Sandra Ramezani: This review is for the summer camps. Don't waste your money. I signed up thinking my daughter would have a French experience. She spoke English most of the time. The camp was extremely expensive at $450 and they offered nothing special in terms of activities. They are also unflexible and uncaring about personal circumstances and do not offer refunds.
Samira Zarghami: I recently recommended this school to a mom because we really believe in the school and what it has to offer, and she mentioned this review... I had to read it and now I have to respond to it, as I don’t want a child to miss a great education opportunity.I am sorry for the family and the child who had such negative experience, but it is certainly not the Norm. My child started at Cousteau last year when turned 3 with zero French, and now she has conversations in French, and I have no idea what she is saying. When comparing Cousteau to other preschool/day care programs in North Vancouver, I have to say that you cannot. What is offered at Cousteau is far more. here are some of the reasons why we choose Cousteau for our child:The children are exposed to Native French speaking qualified teachers, this is amazing where your child is exposed all day in an environment where every teacher is speaking their native language, and that is all the child is hearing ******The Curriculum, class lessons, activities, set up of classroom, and the daily routine, it all has a purpose and it is to set up a child with a solid academic foundation that is just beautifulThe hours are set up to lead the child and prepare the child for KGThe staff are just super supportive and helpful, they spoil you, they are quick to respond to calls and emailsCousteau offers the best before and after care services, with amazing and enriching afterschool clubsIt’s a community and you build your network within that community, it is what you make it, we have friends who speak French and families who do not speak French at home, and there are families that do both, you choose what works for you, but it is what you make itAll communications are in French and EnglishThrough an app you are in touch with what is happening at school within your child’s classroomThese are just a few that came to my mind as I am writing this, am not saying that the school is perfect, but they are open to suggestions, they are always in the process of improving their classrooms, their library was recently renovated, they made changes to the parking system that was not working, they encourage and welcome parents to get involve with the school and I am a hard parent to please and I question everything.Am just saying all this because I don't want you to miss the opportunity, visit the school, attend the open house, and ask questions and decide for your self. Cousteau may not be a school for every child, but if it is for your child, it will be the most amazing experience they will have.
Ghazal Ghaffari: After extensive research about private schools, we registered our 3.5 years old son to the pre-school program at Cousteau.Unfortunately, we experienced difficult times at Cousteau and got the minimum support from the school.Firstly, I would not recommend the school if neither one of the parents speak French.Although they tell you that 75% of parents do not speak French at home, but many know French and they just do not speak at home.Further, please be aware that there are teachers at Cousteau who barely speak English and communicating with them is so hard if you do not speak French. Our son has suffered tremendous amount of stress in the classroom. His teacher could not communicate with him well.Secondly, the system is very strict and our son claims he has been physically punished. From day one, he claimed that his teacher squeezed his finger backward to stop him from crying. He showed us exactly how the teacher did it.A concept that he never seen before and it was not a scenario that he could use his imagination to create! We approached the school and they did not address our concern properly and they claim our son has problem adapting to the system and he is possibly imagining the teacher doing this because he does not like the school! We hired a child psychologist to understand the situation. We came to conclusion that the school fail to help him adopt to the system and the system is very strict. We feel that the system is designed to normalize kids and the disciplinary methods are very harsh for this age group. The pressure was sever on our child that he started biting on his figures.According to our paediatrician and private counsellor this was due to the stress he was experiencing at his school. We got the minimum support from the management team of the school about all the issues. They kept pushing us towards the idea of our son has issues adopting and get away from the fact that the system failed to support him!Further, I picked up my child twice with scratches on his body and none of the teachers knew what happened to him at that time. Apparently they left unsupervised in the class and could not explain us what has happened.I am very disappointed with Cousteau. My son attended the school for only 3 months and it had very bad effect on him. It has been 3 months that our child does not go to Cousteau, still before he goes to bed he tells me "mom, my teacher hurt me at my French School and it was so painful. He is going to a new school and he truly enjoys the place. He has adapted very well to the new environment and he loves his classmates and his teacher.I am sharing my experience with you because I do not want you to experience what we went through not to mention the financial loss in thousands.
Yara Schoucair: Our four kids attend this school. we have been part of the community since 2011 and we are firm believer of the bilingual dual program and it's benefit.Cousteau makes you love going to school.More than 25 nationalities, amazing experienced loving teachers and most of all inspiring, a super extra-curricular program from sports to stem to theatre in French and English that makes each day at school a more special and enriching day. Not to mention that it is the only certified eco school in Canada which has a stupendous influence on everyday's behaviour of our kids towards their environment....the list is long !
Maryam Moayeri: Both my kids attend this exceptional school that caters to English and French families from preschool to Grade 9. It is the first eco-certified school in Canada and one of the only full day preschools. Highlights are as follows: 1. The teachers: they have several degrees and great experience. The French teachers are from France teaching in French and the English teachers are Canadians who speak English as their first language. They are fun, creative, and have high standards. 2. Academic Rigor: Kids follow the dual curricula of BC and France. Kids score high on government math, reading, and writing tests. Their handwriting is impeccable. 3. Community: The families of the school care deeply about education, culture, art, and music. 4. Peer Group: The kids are friendly, respectful, engaged, motivated, and intelligent. They are an inclusive cohesive group. 5. After School Programs: Robotics, tennis, soccer, swimming, skating, gymnastics, art, music, dance, choir, karate, cooking, theater, climbing, chess, and so much more is offered either directly at the school or at a nearby location where a teacher takes the kid in a bus. 6: French: Anglophone kids speak and write French fluently as if their families were of French origin. It is a level unparalleled elsewhere. 7. It is the first certified Eco-School in Canada. The faculty, students, and families care for the climate and humanity.
C & T Wakefield: Initially, my wife and I were looking for a child care solution that would allow us to continue to work 9-5. Our child had also outgrown their existing day care - the children were well taken care of but our child was ready for a more stimulating experience. Our future vision for our child's education also involved French Immersion. It was through random word-of-mouth that Cousteau was recommended to us. We haven't looked back. The small class sizes. The celebration and embrace of French culture. The 8 a.m. child care. The report cards. The after school clubs that introduced our child to ballet, soccer, music, math, stories from around the world and cooking (at 3 years old!). The daily surprise of discovering our child has learned something new (yes dear that is the Canadian flag!). We began our Cousteau journey believing we would leave after pre-school. The superior educational experience (especially when compared to what we learned about other French Immersion options on the North Shore) and the on-going development we see in our child has convinced us to stay long-term.I have clear memories of being terrified of school during my first day of Kindergarten. Our child has no such fears, puts on her backpack and is proud to go to school every day. She is so far beyond my development at the same age it's incredible.I encourage anyone considering Cousteau to go to an open house, or register for their summer camps to give the school a try. It's worth it.
Brad Lamoureux: Our two daughters attended this school for 12 years. Overall, they made many great friends, and were taught by dedicated and wonderful teachers. They graduated fully bilingual, and if the school offered grades 10-12, they would have stayed for these grades as well. This is an outstanding program and school!
Melanie Simpson: It is shameful that the school that specializes in bullying wore pink shirts. Completely hypocritical!!This place needs a consultant to come in and advise the teachers how to deal with bullying with their own anger and with the children at the school. Please do your research before sending your children to this school!
Killarney Oxygen Yoga: Amazing school with great location and caring staff!!
