crywalkr: This is a neat little toy store on Main Street that's packed full of modern and retro toys. They had some cool toys from the 80s like Slinky, an Etch-A-Sketch and Lite Brite as well as the latest Playmobil and Lego sets. My one disappointment is that they didn't have a traditional Jack in the Box. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I hope to go back one day

Aoife Dowling: Great selection of games, toys, lego, crafts, all squeezed into a fairly small space.
Ellen Wong: They have one of the best selections of stuffed animals around...although the prices for these are generally higher than what you'd pay at some other stores (like Miniso 😅), they probably have a larger selection of the more traditional, soft, and slumpy teddies and bunnies, and a selection of fruit and veg stuffies that's harder to find elsewhere. Store staff were nice. The store was kept well-organized. The only thing missing: On the day I went, I didn't see any hand sanitizer at the entrance, which I would've appreciated, seeing how everything inside the store is tempting to touch and check out.

Lauren Jarvis: This is the coolest store ever for kids. I can only be sad to think I never got to be a kid and experience the joy and instant excitement of entering this space and wanting everything. It makes gift giving easy though, and they have literally so many options and toys you can’t find elsewhere. I highly recommend stopping in here with your littles or if you can’t seem to find anything to buy for someone’s kid, or your own 😜

Matthias Luers: I have been coming to this store since I was a kid and I’ve always loved it. Today, Me and my girlfriend visited the store, the lady working at the register was absolutely wonderful! We purchased several playmobile mystery packs for fun, and ended up returning 3 times within the hour for more because were determined to get all the characters, we interacted with the lady at the register every time because she was such a delight to talk to! Would definitely come back, very cool store, and wonderful staff!

I was expecting an answer from you, thanks for writing: your response sounds like nothing has happened or you are not aware of the situation!If you are the owner of this business and you were not at the store when this happened, it appears that you don't know how your staff deal with the customers in your absence! And if the person who at the time claimed to be the owner was you, then you should be the one who left the toy that I purchased for my three year old grandson on the dirty ground out of your store in the middle of Covid!I have been living in this neighborhood for the past 25 years, haven't seen such a disrespectful behaviour from any of the local businesses! My daughter, who was with me, checked the price of the plastic toy just as I tapped my credit card at your store. The item/toy was still on your counter. She checked online and realized that the toy you sold to us for $40, was $20 at Walmart and Indigo! In response to our inquiry for refund your staff (maybe you) said that we didn't have to check other stores and that you needed to make money for your own family! They could have offered us a store credit with respect and understanding. Instead the owner wanted us to leave and left the toy on the ground! Disgusting behavior!I would again strongly recommend people to check the price before buying anything from your store! Not only to save their money but also to stay away from disrespectful manners! Your manners matters the most as you deal with children in our family-oriented neighborhood.Talk to your staff and ask them to respect customers! And please don't respond the way you did originally pretending that you don't know anything about what happened in your store last week! Work on your customer service and try to make it up for other customers. I will never ever shop from you again.

Goodluck to you scamming people out of their hard earned money!Let me start by saying that we've purchased toys from here before.We went in this week and settled on a toy. While at the counter, my mom went to purchase the item as i searched it up online just to browse other prices ( found the item on indigo, walmart, amazon too for 19.99. The purchase price for same item was 39.99 at this fraudulent place). She stated that the extra 20$ is us supporting small businesses. This is fraudulent and totally a scam.I simply voiced the pricing i found while mom was paying. She tapped her card as i finished my sentence....still at the counter. The lady simply said " sorry. No refunds". The owner was present and became upset that we were asking for our money back. I eventually took out my phone and started recording the interaction and still will hold onto it going forward. The rudest most aggressive person ive ever met. They claimed that they have a sign stating " No refunds". Not true. Lol. They also should have stated that there was a no refund policy or whatever their policy is before someone purchases an item. Anyways. This aggressive owner, took the toy and threw it on the street, in hopes of getting us to leave. NOW remember, we purchased a toy. For a CHILD. Which she proceeded to throwing on the street...in the middle of covid!!!! Disgusting behavior. They lost more than a few customers. The cops were called by us ....the cop decided to allow us to figure it out and to let it go. I dont think i can. People BE WARNED and stay away.
Jason Lopez: I love that little independent shops like this still exist! It’s so great to take the kids into a real shop and let them see what they are buying, so much better than just choosing something from a computer screen.
Francesca Smilgin-Box: Great neighbourhood toy store! Don't go in in a hurry - this place is like Aladdin's Cave! You'll need a while to let it all soak in and have a good poke around. Massive selection of puzzles (which is a personal fave in our house), as well as toys ranging from big names like Lego and Playmobile, through to handmade independent toys and crafty things. I particularly love the felted items and great selection of animal puppets.
Susan Bilbey: We've been customers of BC Playthings for years, and it's still my go-to toy shop even though we've now moved out of the neighbourhood! The variety and quality of products is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. You couldn't ask for a better community-driven, positive store owner than Donna!

Don Parkinson: I gave this community business a twig bench to use in their displays. That bench is some two feet long by a foot deep. It was part of a display that sat in our home for 36 years, holding two dolls that were made in the likeness of my wife and I as a wedding gift. I gave this to Donna Grocott, because we are going to be moving and we are uncertain as to how much space we have to move into. The bench is our first piece of furniture to find a new home. Here it will be utilized by fairies and many, many dolls. It will become part of the lore of Edgemont Village and find a new home here. It would never hold the weight of an actual child for that is not the purpose for which it was designed. This store is a wonderful warm place for families to spend time in, there is magic in a toy store.

Kathleen edwards: I would very much like express my delightful experience from ordering on line. I ordered a very hard to find Playmobil Advent calendar on Saturday. This item was sold out everywhere in all of Vancouver and surrounding areas. My grand daughter wanted one very badly. I placed the order last Saturday afternoon and received it this morning with Canada Post. I had sent 3 messages to their support team and my messages were answered almost immediately. I was very impressed. They went above and beyond to help me and make my grand daughter one very happy girl . I HIGHLY recommend and I will be doing all my toy shopping for my 4 grand children from here for many years to come. This was my first experience shopping with them and I’m a happy grandma . Kendra Nickerson: This is my secret kid's store - although after a recent visit I decided it should be shared with others so that it doesn't close! Support local business, right? Such a fantastic selection of everything for kids: books, puzzles, games, gifts, the latest toy - even clothes. The back of the store has a huge selection of DVDs and games for adults too. This is where I come for gifts because it's easy to park and the service is great.

Kimberly Hallberg: Absolutely the BEST PLACE to get books and really really cool toys for kids. They have an amazing variety of toys which are also educational! I call these toys, toys that trick the kids into learning! Lol! Go check it out! I can almost guarantee that you won't leave there without at least ONE thing for your kid(z). There's also quite a few items for us parents, grandparents and friends! This store is MUST SEE in my opinion! There's something for EVERYONE!

Ali & Abi’s TykeTalks: I am astounded at the poor attitude of these people. I bought a game recommended by a staff person and found it was just a $20 deck of cards, many of which were blank. When I asked for refund they said no as the plastic had been opened. Had I known without opening the plastic i never would have bought it. That they would recommend a product so strongly and then also confess they hadn’t opened it is shameful. I will never shop here and recommend others shop where customer service and loyalty has more value.
Adam Nyaeme: Not a great service. Unfortunately this businesses doesn't get the basic principle of trying to build a good relationship with customers. Please do yourself a favor and try walmart or amazon, at least these companies give you a better service and a better return on your dollar.
