Darlene King: If all you need to know is that Dr. Owen Reid is an exemplary surgeon and a caring and thoughtful person then I can assure you from my personal experience – he certainly is. I however feel that, with the positive way he has impacted on my self image and my life in general, I owe him the debt of letting people know some details. I was hit by a car while riding a bike 20 years ago and the injuries I sustained were very serious and led me to be in a wheelchair for months. I was a world dance and gymnastics coach and of course my substantial thighs for those sports turned to jelly as I struggled to rehabilitate. It took a year before I could walk unassisted. Happily, I recovered almost fully but my legs never returned to normal and one thigh was left much larger than the other due to swelling and deep tissue injury. The lumps left behind always showed through my clothing and every time I looked in the mirror, I relived the accident. I went to numerous plastic surgeons in the hopes that they would be able to give me back at least some sense of the positive self image I had previous to my accident. I had given up and just accepted that nothing could be done when I found Dr. Reid’s Coastal Plastic Surgery web site. My first impression was one of relief and gratitude. This doctor not only listened to what my issues were – he worked with me to devise a plan that would give me the best result. He thought “outside the box” and, while most others had said I needed a lower body lift, he was honest about the limitations of that procedure for me. We opted for a medial thigh lift done in 2 stages. He felt that doing the major lipo suction needed first and then doing the thigh lift would be best and he was correct. No one else had suggested this be done in stages. The cost ended up the same as if it was all done at once but the result and time that I had between allowed me to have not only a better end result but less risk of complications and faster recovery. Yes, I had to be patient between the surgeries with more hanging skin but that wait was well worth it. Dr. Reid made sure that I felt heard and cared for during the entire process and he and his staff are kind, patient and of the highest professional standards. The Cambie Surgical Center staff where the surgeries were performed are incredible. I am an RN and knowing that my nurses and anesthesiologists were there for me in every way to support the excellence of Dr. Reid made the entire experience calming and gave a sense of ease and confidence that is so vital when undergoing these types of procedures. I had asked Dr. Reid to give me the chance at being able to look in the mirror and not see the accident that almost cost me my life. He not only did that but, now that the weather is good, I am once again wearing shorts!! Thank you, Dr. Reid and all the staff at Coastal, for giving me this gift of your experience, expertise, attention to detail and thoughtfulness. I had recurring breast abscesses from a cyst that was in my nipple and was recommended to see Dr Reid after many failed attempts from the hospital and two other Dr's to remove it, I can not say thank you enough to Dr.Reid and Echo his assistant for the amazing job they did, he was the only Dr that went into my nipple and removed the cyst sack which needs to be done to stop future regrowth. The needle for the freezing usually hurts so bad I almost cry this time I didn't even feel it go in when he did it. He was gentle, had excellent bedside manner and was confident. I definitely will use him in the future if I am in need of a cosmetic surgeon, I highly recommend him for cyst removals.

Jason Torwalt: Receptionist was super rude to me. I sent a follow-up email a week ago, trying to confirm my appointment date and time after the first email I received from them (A week ago) - ‘with no information about my upcoming appointment’.I finally got a response from them and got an email from them today, with my appointment time, saying I’m scheduled to come in, ‘also today’?! So with no previous warning, according to my records, they scheduled me in, without communicating to me that they scheduled me in. I emailed them back, stating that I was more or less unhappy with having to reschedule my entire day, with the lack of communication on their end. The receptionist called me, asking if I was angry. I said yes, and calmly explained my situation. She took no responsibility, and said it was my fault that I didn’t review past emails from them regarding scheduling (which I never received). So, I tried to rationally explain over the phone, ‘how can I take responsibility for something that I never received from them’... She kept cutting off what I was trying to say, being very dismissive, raising her voice, and rudely saying that I “was being aggressive”. Shocked at her comment, thinking we were going to have a calm rational discussion about scheduling and miscommunication, she finished off the conversation by basically saying that they couldn’t help me today, and they were going to cancel my appointment. I started to say something, but then she hung up the phone on me! It’s an appointment I have been waiting for, for months. I felt it was really unprofessional, and she was trying to spin it that I was the aggressor in the conversation, rather than her. Rather than hearing me out, and having a conversation with a client/customer, she rudely shut me down. Maybe she was having a bad day, but the way she just cancelled my appointment, then hung up on me in mid conversation... Not cool.Another work associate of theirs, or the HR department called me to hear my side of the story, but they ended up dismissing my points, and just sided with her anyways.Looking at the comments in this review section, I see that I’m not the only person who has had this kind of personal experience with them. Hopefully this will encourage a change of attitude within their business.

kay ge: dr gelfant performed a lower eyelid blethoraplasty on me . he botched it. he then performed it again and it's still botched. it messed with my tear ducts so now if I tear my face swells up badly. I would not recommend him for this procedure.

Maila Mustang: Ok. So my breasts look great now, however this is because I kinda fixed them myself. I had noticably asymmetrical breasts, so when he (Dr. Gelfant) warned me it would be amplified after my surgery I took that into consideration. My mistake apparently was not asking if something could be done to compensate that, but perhaps it was because my friends telling me all the wonderful things their Dr.s did to compensate. So I made an assumption, my mistake. When figuring out size I wanted 450cc, he said "I'm not putting anything larger then 425 in you" and walked out. It was kinda rude...I shoulda taken that as a sign. Did the 9g procedure anyways. Couple weeks go by and my left breast is sitting a full 2 inches higher then my right. I was really upset and went through horrible depression. I emailed asking how this could be fixed. Said to just wait it out. I went and saw him for a check up after 12 or so weeks and he said HE COULD have brought down my left pocket and brought my right one up... So I just looked online and found a solution to bring my left breast down and they're fine now. AND my incisions are a full inch away from my crease and look dreadful. So that's another thing I'm still taking care of after a year and a half...I just dont believe Dr. Gelfant wants to do BA. probably why he charges so much. There are plenty of amazing Dr.s in Vancouver who will take better care of you. I've since met 6 girls who's dr.s I would of rather gone to.

When I went for my sizing for my mastopexy ( implants/lift) I knew I wanted to go big, and I picked a size that would not be best for my overall health and desired look , ( I ended up going 405cc) Dr .Gelfant will only do operations in which he can achieve optimal results, he is an excellent surgeon and will only recommend a procedure if you’re a good candidate, he is genuinely invested in your well-being. I choose to go with the Ideal implant, which I view as the best implant, and only a limited number of surgeons can offer it. I would give my overall experience 10/10. I was very scared going into the operation, as it was my first surgery, Dr.Gelfant really made me feel safe and well taken care of before I went in, and his team is top notch. Dr. Gelfant has a contact line where you can reach him 24/7, I even called him on Christmas eve to ask him questions about my medication, and he was there for me, regardless of the holiday. When I saw the results of my surgery on the day after in my post -opt I was in tears, his work is so clean, my results were everything I was hoping for, and more. I’m 5 weeks post-opt now, and I’m so in love with my results, the healing process was a breeze, and my scars are hardly noticeable at only 5 weeks. Meghan Mansfield: I am a 44 yr old mother of two who was first a patient of Dr. Lennox 7 years ago when he performed a breast lift and augmentation. I had always had large breasts (34 DD) but after two children and a combined 5 years breastfeeding I was uncomfortable with how my breasts looked and felt. I could not have been happier with the outcome, and 7 years later I went back to Dr Lennox for a Tummy Tuck in April 2021. Four months post surgery I could not possibly be happier with the results. I am a 44 mother of two with what I consider a 24yr olds abdomen. The results have far exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend the procedure as long as Dr. Lennox is the surgeon. I did lots of research prior to the surgery and Dr. Lennox and Toni totally prepared me for what to expect in my recovery. Dr. Lennox suggested I rent a walker to use following my surgery and I highly recommend anyone having this operation do the same. I think my recovery was much easier having used it for the first couple weeks. I had many people recommend I look into having the procedure done in Columbia or Costa Rica and having had the procedure done here in Vancouver, 30min from my home, I could not imagine doing this in another country and having to travel within 10days. This is a major surgery and the recovery is far more difficult than breast augmentation. Any surgery I choose in the future would 100% be with Dr. Lennox or a surgeon that he would refer me to, and while I had zero complications I would never recommend anyone have this surgery in another country, the recovery is intense and you need access to proper medical care should you have complications. Furthermore I would not have been able to travel for at least a month without experiencing some kind of complications. My only regret is not doing the surgery sooner!

maria liu: My whole experience with Dr Peter Lennox was amazing. The sense of ease and trust he delivers from consultation, actual operation, till recovery was unforgettable. I personally feel so lucky that I had someone as qualified as him to get my very first augmentation exactly as I have expected. Laurenne P: After 2 separate individuals referred me to Dr. Lennox, I contacted his office to get my upper eyelids done. He didn't try and sell me on a bunch of other procedures but simply focused on my upper eyelids. The surgery was a year ago and I don't think Dr. Lennox could have done a better job. I had a lot of extra skin to remove. There is always a fear that too much is removed or not enough. Dr. Lennox performed perfection. He has a mild manner and I always felt completely at ease with him. I am a huge chicken when it comes to needles and surgery and it took me years to get my eyelids done. danielle bjornson: After being diagnosed with breast implant Associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma I was having a hard time trying to find a surgeon who could operate on me. Finally a doctor from Texas recommended Dr Peter Lennox saying that he had previously had a case of the same cancer from breast implants about 10 years prior. Dr. Lennox could not answer anything in regards to whether or not this patient was doing well or if she was alive he did not follow up with her when I asked him how she was doing. I had a lot of struggles with his receptionist Toni and him when I requested to have my implants return to me. They both tried to push me to sign the forms immediately for surgery but I wanted to make sure that I was fully informed and I kept asking questions as obviously being diagnosed with cancer from a medical device was a very serious thing and I was very scared and so was my family. I had my surgery done the end of September in 2016 at which time after my surgery dr. Lennox did not even come in to see me and see how I was doing. A few weeks later I had received a pathology report from him and also from my oncologist that I had at the time and it said it was only one page and said there was no spread of the disease. Both myself and my husband asked if there were any masses or anything like that and we were told no everything was fine and that I was cured. I also asked for pictures of my capsules and implants and whatever else they could take pictures of. They gave me all the pictures but they were so dark you could hardly make anything out you had to physically use a photo program to lighten them up. Both of my capsules appeared very chopped up and neither one of the capsules said which side it was from so I had no way of knowing which side was which and they looked to be completely shredded in pieces. I continue to stay sick and I could not figure out what was going on but was made to feel like everything was in my head. Finally after several months I ended up finding out that dr. Lennox withheld three pages of my pathology report. He had lied to me both him and his receptionist as well as the oncologist that I had at the same time trying to cover up the fact that I was in advanced stages. When you're diagnosed with cancer it is vital and very important to have accurate information and for your doctors to be honest with you as this is a matter of life and death. I would never recommend dr. Lennox especially because of the fact that when I caught him in this lie and withholding Vital Information on my pathology report and leading me to believe that there were no masses and everything was fine that is completely unacceptable. I should have been able to feel trust with him but he did everything he could to cover up his lies thankfully I refuse to communicate with them via the phone as I wanted to have documentation regarding everything. Yes he was the president of the plastic surgery Association of Canada and is one of the people heading up what is going on with breast implant Associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma in Canada but being in a position of power like this honesty and credibility is everything and he just does not have that. Not only that but I had sent him an email asking for copies of his reporting my diagnosis to health Canada and the manufacturer and he had said he already did this and that he was away on vacation and would send that information to me when he returned. I was one that ended up reporting my own case 8 months after I was diagnosed and again he had lied to me leading me to believe that he had already reported it. This is not somebody that should be heading up anything to do with this man-made cancer caused from breast implants. These people make you feel like you can trust them but if you do get sick watch out because all he did to me and my family was lied to us. The simple fact is his Greed for money is more important then the actual patients health. To this day I still am not better and have lost all trust in plastic surgeons. Shame on you dr. Lennox for doing what you did to me and my family.

Lesley Jane Allan: Amazing surgeon! Dr. Lennox performed breast reconstructive surgery after my bilateral mastectomy. I chose to have the DIEP flap procedure which in itself is an incredible procedure! Please research to understand the complexity. Both breast were successfully created perfect. It was only due to previous radiated breast tissue from my 1st lumpectomy (standard protocol) that caused the left breast to developed necrosis and lose volume. Dr. Lennox saved the breast with surgical debridement and skin grafting. Over the next 4 years he continued to add volume by fat graphing until both breast were perfect! I can't thank him enough for what he has done for me. I love my breasts! I am whole again!! He is extremely skilled, professional, kind, and compassionate. His staff (Toni) was also unconditionally supportive, kind and professional. Thank you both for making my journey incredible! I would highly recommend!!!

Emily Jarvie: I had a Mommy Makeover with Dr. Tregaskiss in July of 2022. This included a bilateral mastopexy with augmentation, abdominoplasty with muscle repair and liposuction of my upper abdomen. I had been quite overweight (almost) my entire life, but after 2 pregnancies, 2 c-sections, breastfeeding for over a year each time, I decided to take my life back. I lost just about 90lbs naturally. Even though I already felt better and looked good, I was left with sagging and deflated breasts and loose skin on my abdomen with abdominal separation. I decided that it was worth looking into having surgery to put the finishing touches on my body transformation. After A LOT of research, I decided to book a consultation with Dr. T. From the very first step in booking my consultation, I was very pleased with the level of customer service I was provided.During my consultation, Dr. T provided me with all the information I needed. He went over the risks and procedures very thoroughly and explained in a way that was easy to understand. He didn't overpromise anything and I appreciated this a great deal. I was so impressed with my consultation that I cancelled other ones I had booked, and I scheduled the surgery within the next couple days.The months leading up to my surgery, I was in contact with the Cosmetic Coordinator, Laura. She was quick to respond to my emails and even set up another phone call with Dr. T so that I could ask some more questions that had popped up after my consult. I appreciated that he took the time to call me and answer all the questions I had accumulated over time.The morning of surgery went very smoothly. Every single person I encountered was friendly, kind and professional. I had never been under general anesthesia before so I was very nervous, but the Anesthesiologist was so wonderful in making me feel at ease.I woke up from surgery and received absolutely incredible care. I am a Registered Nurse so I have experience in this area and I was so impressed with the level of attentiveness I received from my nurse - I wish I remembered her name so I could tell her how awesome she is. Everyone that looked after me was so kind even though I was a little dramatic after waking up from anesthesia!My follow up care has be top notch! Every anxious email was promptly replied to by Laura who sometimes passed messages to/from Dr. T and the nurse who looked after my incisions for my first two follow up appointments was fantastic. Recovery was difficult for the first few days as expected, but I was prescribed good pain medication and had an overall smooth recovery.The front desk staff are also wonderful - always friendly and helpful. I've worked in doctor's offices before so I truly understand the importance of a good front desk staff!As for my results, I could not have imagined a better outcome! I have been self conscious of my breasts since I was a teenager and Dr. T has given me the set of my dreams. My tummy is flat and my scar is low and even. There is not a single thing out of place. Saying that this surgery has been life-changing is an understatement. I am more confident than ever, which has had an effect on many aspects of my life. I had wanted to have a face lift for about 5 years but I felt I didn’t have the time and I didn’t have confidence in any of the doctors I had researched. Then I found Dr.Buonassisi .There are many you-tube videos on his work and so it’s easy to get information.He has experience in doing face lifts and this was very important to me. He explained what I needed to have done and answered my questions . Yes, this surgeon listens and he answers your questions! He is personable and relaxed so he makes YOU feel relaxed. He is also honest about what he can achieve. On the day of surgery, naturally I was nervous, and he spoke to me before and after the procedure. This was a great help.In follow up Dr. Buonassisi makes himself available. On two occasions I didn’t expect to see him but he checked in anyway . He answered , in detail , other questions I had about other procedures , Botox and Halo laser and never made me feel rushed .Dr. Buonassisi also has a great support team . The nursing and admin staff at 8 West are knowledgeable , friendly and helpful. Caroline Mica and Megan were always available for questions. They provided meticulous aftercare and support.Another plus , 8 West has a full suite of services so that you can confidently have other procedures done without searching for another clinic.As for the results , I am extremely satisfied. It’s about 18 months since I had my face lift and I feel/look fantastic . My face has been lifted , the sag and lines are gone and I have no saggy skin on my neck ! I look ten years younger.If you are considering a face lift I strongly recommend Dr. Buonassisi .

The Crone: **Using an anonymous account for this because Vancouver remains a very small town in certain circles**I had an upper bleph at 8 West about 10 months ago. The result is acceptable - not as much skin removed as I would like. The lids are uneven (although you'd only notice if you were looking at me for long periods, like over dinner) and one scar extends far further than the other - that part is probably down to my own physiology. On that side the scar is puckered at the end, but it's not hugely distracting. All in all, looks better than before.The crummy rating come from three separate issues. Number one is that when I arrived for my bleph, they administered the Ativan a solid 20 minutes before Dr. Buonossisi came in to discuss the procedure. The result was that by the time he came in, I had a lot of trouble following what he was saying. That was when we discussed how much skin he was going to remove, how far the scars would extend, etc. I would have really preferred not to have been stoned for that conversation, and feel like I would be a lot more satisfied with the outcome if I had been more capable of articulating myself at the time.Thing two is that they didn't remove my freaking mascara before performing surgery on my eyelids. I had a meeting immediately before my surgery, and had confirmed in advance that it was okay if I showed up with makeup on. I was told no problem, we would wash it off.Nope. They wiped my lids but left my mascara on. I'm no doctor, but incisions that close to gunky eye makeup I'd been wearing all day seemed....not quite right. It was also a bloody nightmare (literally) for me to remove later.Thing three was the pain control afterwards. I discussed with the surgical team before the procedure that I am one of those people who needs a boatload of anaesthetic (my dentist is constantly amazed) and that I am aware that I have a pretty pathetic pain tolerance. I was sent home with Tylenol. I will not get into the details, but if we didn't happen to have a couple of pretty major painkillers left over from an old prescription, I would have gone to the hospital (I have been to the ER for my own health twice in my entire life, so that's saying something). I contacted Dr. Buonosissi, who just told me that the pain would subside. Thank god for expired morphine.Apart from those three things, it was fine. The nurses were delightful. I found all the other clinic staff I dealt with to be almost comically cold and snooty - it is sort of like a caricature of a Beverly Hills clinic in that respect. I myself couldn't care less if an MOA is unfriendly, but mention it because I know some people feel strongly about that sort of thing.I will probably have a revision bleph done in a couple of years somewhere else. In the interim, the results are fine.

Nancy Manning: I have had several procedures at 8 west. They have all been made as easy as possible and i am very happy with the results. Recently i had a full face, lip, neck and brow lift and am thrilled with results. I look like me, but younger. Recovery was not difficult. Everyone at 8 west was amazing.

My upper blepharoplasty procedure could not have gone any better, from start to finish.  Given my type-A personality, before contacting this clinic, I had many pages of questions and scenarios to review with the surgeon.  I contacted two other clinics prior to my consult with 8-West, and immediately felt a remarkable difference in my experience.  Dr. Buonassisi was friendly and earnestly interested in meeting my personal needs.  His experience translates to confidence as he made markings on my lids, held the mirror so I could clearly see, and explained the best he could do for me.  He considered his options and could achieve my goal without performing a brow lift too. He was honest, realistic, optimistic, and very knowledgeable while discussing my upcoming procedure.  Dr. B set me at ease, so I didn’t need to ask my long list of questions.On the day of my procedure, Dr. Buonassisi was sensitive to my feelings and wishes (inviting me to choose either quiet time or interaction in the surgery room).  It was a very smooth experience, even though it required the effort of traveling from Manitoba to British Columbia so I could have Dr. Buonassisi’s skilled hands and caring mind attend to my precious lids. The support staff at the clinic was on top of everything in a timely and efficient way. I received all the information I needed to have the very best experience.  Without having to ask or advocate for myself, the clinic sent out clear, point-form instructions that were easy to follow.  They checked up on me regularly, ensuring I had received and opened their email and inviting further questions.  All the staff was so polite, friendly, helpful, and encouraging, willing to clarify even the most minor questions.It is two months since my surgery, and I am thrilled with the outcome.  Before the procedure, my lids were extremely droopy, sagging on my eyelashes with baggy skin extending far beyond the outer edges of my eyes. (It required an incision well beyond the length of my eyes.) What a difference to my appearance this has made! I couldn’t be more pleased.  It is very natural-looking for a woman of my age of 64.  I feel Dr. B removed exactly the right amount of skin, not too much, considering I’ve always had hooded eyes, and yet enough so that a small area of my lid is visible and frames the eyes. Very natural, but SO different and such an improvement from how I looked before! My eyes look brighter and bigger which in turn makes me look more attractive and younger. The surgery caused minimal disruption to my life, and I was able to travel out of the country one month after the procedure. When I send pictures to friends in Canada, they’ve remarked that I look refreshed, uplifted, beautiful, or like I am having a restorative vacation. It’s actually the work of Dr. B. I am thankful!

The staff is kind, very experienced, and most importantly kind. I also wanted to have my Botox done and the nurse injector was HONET enough to tell me to wait.
