Urgent Care Centre - UBC Hospital: what do users think?
爹Ryan: Hello UBC fellows! Don’t expect to get any real help if you encounter some Asian, especially Taiwanese nurses when entry. Both young and old are simply rude and uneducated. But this doesn’t mean that there aren’t some good people here. Generally speaking, white nurses and doctors show great sympathy and excellent professions.
Dominic Tomkowicz: I am extremely disappointed and appalled at the completely inaccurate and shockingly long wait times here. Firstly, I just want to say straight up that in no way do I think poorly of the doctors and nurses who dedicate their hard work to this hospital and its patients, working 12 hour shifts. The staff at this hospital were very nice and dedicated, and I can attest to this personally in the way they professionally carry their operations and conversations with patients including me, so I have absolutely no problems in the way that I or any other patients around me were treated. That being said, I cannot say the same for the upper management of this hospital. In my opinion they are running the waiting queue terribly, with a real wait time for me of over 6 hours. In the most polite way, I just have to ask them: what is going on with this place?? As a university student, I have things to do that if missed, can affect my grades severely. Not only did I miss my 3 PM math class, a subject I already struggle in, but I had to skip lunch and feel awful hunger while waiting to see a doctor, which feels very bad for someone with a fast metabolism like me who needs lots of calories every day. All thanks to the completely understated and inaccurate wait times posted on the EDwaittimes website and irresponsible queue management. After arriving at the hospital at about 10 AM, the ED wait times website showed a wait time of just under one hour to see a doctor, but it took a whopping 3.5 hours before I was taken to a hospital bed, being taken from one waiting room, to the next, and finally to the hospital bed. I am currently on this hospital bed at the time of this writing and have waited 2 hours since being directed to this room. These are VGH levels of wait time, and I specifically came to UBCs hospital to avoid the wait times of VGH.I honestly hate to say this and never thought I would say it, but if every hospital is like this in Canada, I would totally prefer America’s expensive healthcare system. At least that way I would have half a day left to do something.
Joyce F: I visited the UBC hospital laboratory on Feb 15 at around 10am for blood taking and unfortunately, I had a concerning experience with a laboratory technologist/phlebotomist. The phlebotomist, who happened to be an older Asian female, displayed unprofessional conduct and made unacceptable clinical errors. As a patient, it is crucial to feel safe and confident in the care we receive from healthcare professionals. Regrettably, this was not the case during my visit. I urge others to exercise caution and consider alternative options when seeking healthcare services at the UBC hospital laboratory. The UBC hospital administration should prioritize patient safety and maintain high standards of professionalism and competency, particularly in clinical settings. It is my hope that they will take appropriate measures to address this issue and prevent similar incidents in the future.
Chris: I recently visited this hospital for a procedure in the gastroenterology unit. I was truly impressed by the quality and level of care of all the staff, including receptionists, nurses and doctors. They were pretty organized and showed empathy towards all the patients. You can feel they really have a passion for what they do here. Thank you and God bless you all 🙏🏻
Mashhur S: I think they should hire more doctors to make service better.
Kallie Volk: Joel was an amazing nurse! Great attention to detail and very empathetic. Made my stay that much more enjoyable!
Ashley Michele: So impressed with this hospital. Between the nurses, staff and doc everyone was incredibly helpful, empathetic and resourceful. Taking care to check in, be clear as possible and ticking the boxes for possibly issues. Not to mention how clean it is. It’s always a dread needing to face Emerge but knowing you are so cared for by this staff and facility is reassuring.
Katherine Lauriente: UBC hospital is much quieter and cleaner that either vgh or St Paul's. I really appreciate the staff here, especially the CT people.
Alexandria Devereux: Was admitted for a week for my procedure this past July and from the moment I entered the doors at admitting to when I was ready to leave - everyone I met & that was involved in my care was super helpful, doting and kind. All my nurses were conscientious, timely and helpful above & beyond their stations! Helping me charge my phone since I forgot my charger at home, ensuring I had all I needed to be safe & comfortable - plus resident doctors were all extremely professional, reassuring with excellent bedside manners and skills. This is more of a speciality location so don’t expect to find yourself here unless you have been referred by a specialist or have a elective surgery scheduled. But it’s a lovely place to be with wonderful people who I really hope are recognized and treated well by VCH for their contributions. I’m very thankful and happy 🌹
薑黃貓: Very Sweet and helpful place.
Mickey Qin: I got a surgery last Friday in UBCH,for taking a big lipoma out from my shoulder. Now I rest at home then have time to express my thanks again to the doctors and nurses. They are so lovely and kind and professional. Take care , Dr Vasilyeva, Dr Li, nurse Nicole and other nurses! Thank you!
Jessica: The doctor, nurses and receptionists are all so sweet, you can feel like they actually care about you. The wait can be a couple hours or possibly longer, but the wait here is much more worth it than waiting at a walkin clinic for the professional care they provide. Thank you all!
Tristan Knoess: Great place
Jenkin Tsui: The wait is long, but the doctors here are extremely helpful and experienced. A lot of them also work at the student clinics so it is great being able to get help from them at different locations.Keep up the great work!
Jonine Rochacewich: I recently spent three weeks in UBC/CAMU after ankle surgery. I’d like to express my sincere thanks to my PT Russell, my OT Stephanie and special shout-out to nurses Jin Ru, Tarryn and Angelee, and care-aide Helen. I’m grateful to all the team that helped me on my road to recovery. The hospital is clean and the food isn’t bad either! Also, Shirley in food services put a smile on my face every morning with her cheerfulness. It’s a great team and everyone seems to care about the patients and each other. It’s something very nice to see during the challenge of the pandemic
Olive Oil: GE CLINIC 非常好👍friendly and professional staff, my visit was very smooth and felt welcoming!
H: Professional, pleasant, very clean. Excellent experience! Thank you to Dr. James Gray and my nurse Tommy as well as all the nursing staff in the Gastroenterology clinic.
김아름: Its the first time to do operation hereLinda from day care unit - professional who made me relax before go to operating room ,nice and friendlyKarin RN form ward 4? (Im not sure because my room start with 4 ) - you are the best nurse i've ever metMillion thanks for taking a good care of meEspecially Thank you very much for Dr. Merha and team my surgery has been done very well with no complicationAll staff was so nice from entrance ,clean, quite ,the best hospital( ^^ )

University Village Medical & Dental Clinic - Allison Road: what do users think?
L S: So what you will expect is:* wait for more than a month to receive a phone call appt with a doctor* no message or email reminder or confirmation, if you miss the phone call then you miss* bad attitude when you talk to the medical receptionistI will not return.
Vivek Srivastava: One should definitely avoid this dental clinic and doctor. Very unprofessional and inexperience dentist. You will be asked to wait often for long despite making an appointment and later regret of a unsatisfactory job. Better check out the other location at Birney avenue!
Nikki Omanian: Awful and rude receptionists who talk to you in a very condescending and sarcastic manner. I had to talk to the office manager to get an issue resolved. The office manager was very nice and understanding though. The doctors are very iffy, sometimes they’re okay sometimes they’re terrible. Overall not a very pleasant experience
Ashlynn Prasad: This place essentially provides a useless service. I went in today hoping to see a doctor urgently, but they don't have any doctors in the building anymore. There are two receptionists (one of them had their small child in the waiting room) whose only job is to call around and make doctors appointments for you. Today was November 21st and the earliest appointment they could find for me was December 2nd (again, at a different doctor's office, since no doctors work here). They basically do the same thing that the TELUS Health app (and other similar services) do, just less efficiently. None of this would have been an issue if they weren't also rude. One of them smiled when I came in and seemed friendly, but she was on the phone so I ended up speaking to the other one, who just stared blankly at me while I explained why I needed help, as if she didn't know why I would be telling her.
Aly Char: I had a nightguard made by them 4 years ago, but it started cracking. Called them to make another appointment to get refitted for a new one. The receptionist was super friendly and very helpful! They alao still had my file from 4 years ago!
akkella a: I had an awful experience at this medical clinic. They cut me off as a patient for making a complaint about how the receptionists were rude to me and always discouraged me for making in-person appointments. Was also upset the staff were not masked but insisted I use hand sanitizer upon entering (Covid is airborne). I was never abusive, never called anyone a name or anything like that. Just anxious and upset and in tears because I couldn't make an in person appointment for my child. Because I spoke up and voiced my concerns to the office manager, when I called a few weeks later to book an appointment was told my file "was closed." Lost access to my medical care for myself and children. I'm a new mom with a history of anxiety and post partum depression. This is not right.
Christine Simundson: I've been going here for 20 years. While the waits can be long depending on time of year and day of the week, they are no longer than any other clinic in my experience. Even though I had a family doctor for years, I often came here instead as I found treatment and follow through better. I see Dr. Ross mostly now and she is excellent. She always follows up with treatment, calls me with results before my specialists call, and I never feel rushed or dismissed.
Mackenzie Urquhart-Cronish: This is no longer a walkin clinic according to receptionist. Apparently all of the doctors have left. Don't waste your time
Robert Seguin: Don't even bother. You'll have better luck dealing with a bakery.
Matt: The receptionist isn’t mentally capable of doing her job and unable to complete basic tasks. When she had to do work she became very aggravated with me and told the doctor a exaggerated story resulting in them to refuse a basic appointment.
Christina Fokkens: On their website, they say they only do walk-ins, but apparently it is the opposite and they only do appointments. They also did not seem to have time to help me set up an appointment.
Yilin Dong: i thought dr ross was friendly and efficient, got my medication on the same day as appointment and appointment just 2 days after calling in. they werent too thorough tho. receptionists might have changed bc the ones i got weren't that bad
Yana Y: The reception was not the best but the doctor was worse. Dr. Brown should stop telling her patients that "the government only pays for 10 minute appointments" so she could not give me a blood test requisition that the same government entitles me to once a year, and that I needed to schedule another appointment. I had no complicated issues and it was once in THREE years appointment. That's just a shame. I know everyone is on edge working through the pandemic and all, but not spending 15 minutes of her time on preventative measures shows how little damn she gives. And she wasn't shy to make this known.
Janet He: Extremely rude receptionist, was not welcoming at all. Was not wearing a mask when talking to her colleagues and had a horrible attitude when I was making a phone appointment.
Pulkit Sharma: Unreliable reception. There is no email confirmation of booked appointment, or telephonic reminder. You show up on date and time as confirmed to you, and they can stun you saying your appointment was yesterday and you missed it. So you lose time, the physician won't appreciate it, for me the worst part was reception made it seem like I was making it up.My advice, record telephonic conversation, and we might need to because this clinic is the only option for many.
Bing Dai: The clinic expects that the patients will always be available to pickup the call - they call you at random time and you have to line up again if you miss the call by even a couple of minutes.
Ayu Rickard: If I could give them a negative rating I absolutely would. Completely unprofessional, I had a standing appointment that I had to first wait to get phone consultation for a week then book an in person appointment that I had to wait ANOTHER week for only for them to call and tell me that I was getting rescheduled for next week ONE DAY before my appointment. As a student thats also working my schedule is very tight and I had been waiting for this doctors appointment for almost 3 weeks after I organically called to schedule one. For members of the medical personal primarily working with students at the "University Medical Clinic" it honestly seems to me that they DO NOT CARE about their patients or anyone thats calling in for medical advice. You'd have better luck getting treatment loitering around the ubc hospital lobby with puppy dog eyes than to even hope that this clinic would spare some time and compassion to follow through with their appointments.
Atoussa Deylami: Called them because they had messed up my friend's appointment. When I asked the receptionist the reason, she hung up on me and wouldn't pickup the phone after. I used another phone number to call them to see if they were purposefully ignoring my call, and yes they were. Extremely unprofessional. Don't even bother going here.
Shabi Javaheri: First the reception lady messed up my appointment. She didn’t add me to the list . I called to ask what is going on an another reception lady was extremely rude , disrespectful and unhelpful . She hung up on me because I said it is not my fault that they messed up my appointment . And then she never answered my call after that . What is wrong with people ? Just help out there is a reason I am making a doctor appointment
Guangrui Xia: We have been seeing the doctors there for 10+ years, and the experiences have been quite good. All the medical doctors are nice and professional. Not sure why people rated it so low because of the receptionists. I don't agree. There is a receptionist at the Birney location. She speaks mandarin, and my parents used to get lots of help from her, such as translation, which is really beyond her job description. She helped them a lot. Thank you!My only problem was with the previous dentist there, who made some mistakes in her knowledge. For example, she gave me some moushwash instructions which was not consistent with the vendor's instruction. She was very nice and approachable. However, she already left the clinic, and the current one is good. The receptionist on the dental side is also good and patient.
kaur sandhu: This review is for Birney Ave location. The customer service at the front desk is terrible. Poor communication skills. Specially on the phone, as a receptionist you are the first line of contact. Instead of having a positive tone, they try to make me feel that they know everything and wouldn't listen to the actual conversation. Adding to that while I was talking to the Indian lady working there, she hung up on me. Wowwww... that's great. most of the negative reviews are regarding front desk because they are not improving their service. Patients are there to seek help not to get disappointed more.On a positive side, The doctors are very king and knowledgeable.

University Village Medical & Dental Clinic - Wesbrook Village: what do users think?
Helen P: The reception lady is TERRIBLE, like everyone says here. How rude.
Chad Fisher: Despite being a regular patient before Covid in both locations (Allison road for more then 10 years and Birney since opening) I am not able to get an appointment for a month even though I am expecting urgent test results. When phoning for an appointment I get a “not our problem” attitude
Shannon Beebe: Update 2022: Dr. Laila is now the dentist here and she is great for our kiddos. She takes the time to explain the options and risks/ benefits of treatment now vs. later. As an example of her style, my 5yo needed both her first wiggly teeth extracted as they had very long roots and there was risk of infection (one required injected freezing), and Dr. Laila managed it with minimal tears. Kiddo has since been back for cleaning without reluctance.Huge shout out to Hiba who works reception and always finds a way to work with our family schedule. Also shout outs to hygienists Anna-Lisa and Cori who have been terrific with both kiddos. The staff work some weekend days which I hugely appreciate, so I don't need to miss big chunks of work for appointments (live in south village, work off campus).Highly recommend.2019: We see Dr. Jain for our dental care. She's excellent, both proactive and conservative on treatment, and great at explaining all the options rather than telling me my problem and a single procedure to fix it, as other dentists have done in the past. She's also super personable. Her schedule is open enough to get appointments within a reasonable time. Her front desk staff are pleasant on the phone and in person. I rarely wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment and sometimes she takes me in upon my arrival. My kiddo loves the toy area, which includes a castle, a rideable stuffed elephant and plenty of books. Dr. Jain was very gentle during the kiddo's first real cleaning and left such a great impression that she wanted to go back for another the next day. A great dental office for families!
Lauren Emberson: Sometimes v hard to get an appointment but great clinic with competent staff and good doctors. We go here with our family.
Claire Li: My whole family has dealt with this clinic for almost 10 years. Doctors are good, except one of them (he is somehow indifferent). The reception is terrible. Most of the ladies in reception are unhappy and rude. They make mistakes but never apologize when patients' time is wasted due to their mistake. It seems it is the culture there. If you are considering to take this clinic as your regular family doctor, think twice.
Sussan Emamdoust: My son had pain in his ear ,and we went to this walking clinic .The receptionist did not accept us .She told they did not accept new patient .l am new in this neighborhood .Is not this clinic walking ? Does it mean everyone can walk to see a doctor?
Hooman Khoramshahi: Walkin clinic that doesn't do Walkins
K C: Terrible medical clinic. Had a phone appointment for 12pm so I made arrangements to be near my phone and ready. Well this doctor calls you whenever she HAS the time, she called at 10:20am and left a voicemail and I got NO call at 12pm…I was out of luck. Good luck trying to build a practice with that mentality doctor!
gibby23: you will read this and go anyways because you're sick. However, I wouldn't waste your time. the doctor felt like she couldn't care less about your problem and just wants you out asap. secondly, she only works one day a week! the rest of the time she calls people and that's how your appointment will go.... and that's IF you happen to have your phone whenever she decides she needs to speak to you. you may have scheduled a time but that doesn't matter. you're either there when she calls (whether that's 30 , 45, 15 minutes before the appointment) or you missed your appointment. here's the best part: the xray technician TOLD me that there was something off with my hand AND that the doctor would follow up. it's been over 2 weeks and i just got told that there's nothing wrong with my hand.. yeah, forget the pain still there plus the xray guy telling me that there's something off. I'm not sure what the deal is with doctors today but they sure feel like they don't wanna work.
Karl Lee: A walk-in clinic with no walk-in
Joanne Thorburn: I went to see dentist, Dr.Leila, with a severely infected molar. She scheduled the extraction TEN days later. I called the clinic in agony with a worsening infection and no one even returned my call. I then went to an emergency dental clinic who immediately extracted the tooth upon x-ray. I could have died had I waited the 10 days for Dr. Leila to do the surgery. BEWARE.
Danielle Porritt: Never seems to have doctors working physically in the building. It's a walk-in clinic that does not take walk-ins. You can book a phone consult a week in advance however for enquiries that cannot be assessed over the phone such as gait analysis.
Samantha Koe: HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC. Called to make an appointment at the Alison road clinic. The receptionist was so rude and when I explained that it was a simple procedure she said idk that’s what I was told. Called the other clinic to see if they would give me the same answer and instead they said yes we can do that and they booked me an appointment. Called the other clinic back to tell them I got an appointmentat the other clinic so something wasn’t adding up. Then the manager of both clinics (also VERY rude) called me directly and said that I was the rude one and said she was cancelling my appointment because “the doctor doesn’t know anything about you.” How unprofessional and unorganized. You are better off going somewhere else where the staff are qualified and are more organized and a hell of a lot nicer to you!
Tiffany Gong: Birney one is terrible i mean the receptionist. my kid was sick and there is no face to face appointment so i agree with the phone appointment in the afternoon next day, but got the call that afternoon saying it needs to be reschedule to the morning next day. the worse is i never got the call!! i took 2 days off to wait for the phone appointment with my kid. next time I ll ask for cancellation charge because our patients' time is also need to be respected!
Heather: Dr. Ross was amazing - thorough, helpful, and took the time to answer all of my questions. The receptionists were also very kind and accommodating. Thank you all so much for your help and kindness today.
Annie Yu: Didn’t realize it was possible to have a favourite place to get dental work, but it happened! The staff are all so friendly and the receptionist is especially welcoming. The dentist is very professional and does a great job with her work.Thank you for the help!
Matias Kubacsek: Went in for dental, and the Doctor is AMAZING. She made me feel safe and informed about what was happening, and she's also super kind and easy to talk to. The assistant who helped during my check up was incredibly kind and super fun.Ps- The doctor I saw is no longer there (Dr. Jain)
Nadan Cho: I went into book an appointment, they said the doctor will call me, but it’s already been a week and I still have not received a phone call.I paid to receive medical attention but I didn’t receive any calls or nothing. As a cherry on top, to make this even better, your receptionists are extremely rude and unwelcoming. Like come on.
Questgiver Cyradis: The receptionist does not pay attention to the questions asked or appointments made. They can't confirm appointments by email, which is quite frustrating. Since they called over the phone to make the appointments, and I wasn't near any writing tools, I didn't get to write down which tests/shots I was doing on a given day, just barely noted the times. She booked me for two separate appointments to get a tetanus shot and a blood pressure test. She was upset when I asked her to verify what item was for the first day, and which was for the second. It was a poorly coordinated thing that could have been avoided entirely. Both of the receptionists surprised me in another poor way: BC has an indoor mask mandate for shared spaces, and neither of them were wearing their masks most of the time, or if they did, it was chin-strapped. I expect that sort of thing at fast-food places, or from other people at grocery stores, or people sitting in their own office cubby.... not at a doctor's office!! What the heck?Dr. Jacobsen was not particularly great to see. He was rather dismissive to me which is frustrating. He seemed eager to leave instead of actually be a doctor concerned with keeping people healthy. At least he decided to do the blood pressure check on the first appointment, so I could cancel the second one that the receptionist made for some unknown reason.
Stephanie Lee: The receptionist working at the Birney medical clinic location is beyond rude. I continue to see the doctors at this location just because they've been so helpful and kind (contrary to their receptionist). She is completely dismissive and puts down my phone before I even get to finish my sentence. Somebody needs to do something about the customer service here.
Debanga Kashyap: Pros: The doctors are decent, take their time to listen to you and figure out your health needs, priorities etc.Cons: RECEPTIONIST. Enough has been said already my multiple reviewers. Someone needs to step up, and take the time and effort to train them better, for everyone's good.Overall, my regular clinic is the Allison Rd location. My experiences there have been alright over the years to be fair.

UBC Health Clinic: what do users think?
Naomi Winsborrow: The lady at the front desk was incredibly unprofessional. I called to ask if I could do a walk in as I felt my medical situation was not important enough to go to the hospital and most general walk in clinics take forever to book in patients. I am already on campus so I thought it was my best bet. I was rudely told over the phone that they were a family clinic and that they weren’t taking anymore patients (how I was to know that?). I tried to ask some questions about what I should do and she just blatantly told me to go somewhere else and HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. This should never be the first interaction someone has with an establishment. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
Neshat Zaman: A middle aged rude lady called me back after I left a message and basically yelled at me for trying to make an appointment as a new patient when they’re not accepting new patients. How was I supposed to know that? Also she kept repeating it’s a family clinic and not walk-in clinic in a tone as if people who go to walk-in clinics are peasants. Disgusting
Janet Lei: I've been a patient here for over 15 years, since my undergrad days at UBC. I really appreciate the level of care the residents provide - they are so thorough and I always feel like my concerns are taken seriously, no matter how minor. My husband and daughter are now also patients here and my daughter really likes going here because the reception staff are so friendly. Thank you for all that you do!
Steph Giammarino: Front staff is terribly disorganized often rude and abrupt, takes forever to answer the phone and then once answered you are put on hold! My husband just spent 1 hour going to get lab work from the requisition only to get there and realize they had not filled in what lab work to be done!
Moody Avocado: The medical care is fine but the East European-accented woman who answered the phone was first flustered and rushed as she put me on hold and then impatient and dismissive. It was clear she thought she had more important things to do than talk to me. it was startling since the job is based on dealing with the public. I thought UBC was more selective in their hiring.
Mahal Love: Thorough. Clean and friendly service. Most checkups are done by UBC students and supervised by UBC staff Doctors.
C N: One star is too much. You're better off going to a veterinarian. Don't go alone. Untrustable.
Derek Myles: They misdiagnosed and delayed my knee recovery.
Karina Platon: The entire team was professional and punctual, the doctors always spend time with you in regards with your health, pleasant, knowledgeable awesome team. Positive experience.
Moustafa el hennawi: I called and dealt with a lady her name was April and she was very unprofessional , am very disappointed that a place like this would hire someone like her
Reza Falsafi: I saw a resident (Chloe Haldane) for my knee, her diagnosis was so good and in agreement with the x-ray and physiotherapist. Overall, i am very pleased and specifically in this case, super satisfied.
Michelle Lovely: The team of physicians and medical students work together to meet all your healthcare needs. I am really pleased with the kind and patient centered service I receive.

UBC Physical Therapy and Research Clinic: what do users think?
Daisy Zhang: I’d give this place six stars if I could. I worked with a few students, and all of them deeply cared about my care. It’s been a couple years since I made my last visit, and I still think about some of the sessions I’ve had at the clinic.
Melissa Giesbrecht: By far the best physiotherapy clinic I have ever attended. Clean, efficient, affordable, and friendly. Everyone I've met has been skilled and knowledgeable and I have received tangible relief from ongoing treatment tailored to my disorder. Gavin is a miracle worker.
Sartaj Singh: Super great price and services. Came in to fix my neck snd Alyssa really made a difference! Huge discounts for UBC students, love that they’re not limiting service in lieu of price. All the other staff are quite nice too! Facilities are clean and COVID protocols feel very safe. Highly recommend checking them out!
Athena LIU: Affordable, professional, effective physical therapy located on the UBC campus. Although treatments are given by PT students in training, the quality is the same as professionals, if not better. A professional physiotherapist supervises each session and checks to make sure we are on a good track. I visited here for my shoulder injury for 5 sessions and the exercise programs and massage therapy they gave me have been very helpful in terms of building strength and reducing pain. Each session is 1 hour long and with my UBC student discount & insurance plan, I only need to pay $15. I’ve had physiotherapy at professional clinics for $80 for 30 minutes and the quality of treatment is about the same. So I would highly recommend anyone, especially UBC students, who has mobility and strength issues to give this UBC clinic a try!

Raymond Soegiharto: Nice and clean building but the name is bit hard to pronounced.
Lina Vallee: This is where the UBC MS Clinic is located. Very nice building.
Stefano Cataldi: The Centre for Brain Health brings together experts in the fields of neuroscience, neurology, and psychiatry in a hub for training, research, and clinical care. From clinics to laboratories, you'll find here the best science at UBC.

BC Women’s Hospital: what do users think?
Paayge Antivist: Thank you to the lovely staff who helped me during my stay. 💖 my family is so grateful
Steve Kasica: Both of our kids were delivered here, 10/10 would recommend again.
Bonkowskiart: The staff are excellent and most of the facility seems nice but SWEET BABY MOSES! The arbutus wing is trash. 3rd world hospital conditions. Apparently at this hospital 70 % of births here are done by c-section those who endure that hardship go to a recovery ward in the tiniest rooms all ghetto trashed with violent toilets. New father's like me have to sleep on the floor and some of the rooms have windows into hallways?? Please rebuild this wing.
Samantha McIntosh: I had a procedure done here recently and the staff in the surgical unit were amazing. I was an anxious mess and they were all so friendly and made me feel so at ease. I’ve never seen a group of staff so calm that treat you like a human and not just a patient they need to get in and out. They also made sure I had the right next steps and medications I needed to be as pain-free as possible. I have absolutely zero complaints.
Gabrielle Cholette: The nursing staff is incredibly supportive and attentive. They were kind and informative. The Dr. was effective and very good at his job but a little bit cold. Overall, would highly recommend this clinic to other women.
mafe garmon: Kind Emergency staff , doctor, nurses and triage. Thanks
Obie O: Weird vibe
OneFiveThreeSixTwoFour VR6: Wonderful place to give birth however I've had 2 bad experiences during my first and third birth. I don't want to sound sexist but the first lady who was trying to give me an epidural in 2008, told me to sit still and shut up or she wont be able to give the epidural.. I was shaking in fear as it was my first birth at just 20 years old... the nurse handling my premature baby was very rough... very bad experience. 3rd birth in 2020, the doctor on call which was also a woman, wasn't compassionate at all. She was annoyed... and told me to go home as there was nothing she could do. I had an emergency c section 2 days later...... 1st lady was blonde, nurse was east Indian and the last was Chinese... I never liked Chinese doctors. No compassion or any bedside manners. (I am Chinese so I'm very aware of how our culture is despite what white people say)Anyways, I've held in my experience long enough and I feel much better.
Sergei Lenkov: I would say first that all the nurses and doctors were very professional and caring and this is the most important thing you are looking for when you and your partner are about to have a baby. Special thanks to nurse Ling for detailed explanation on how to properly do the breastfeeding to my wife! They also gave us an extra day to stay for my wife to recover from unplanned urgent surgery - made a difference. She was also provided with food and all necessities for her and our baby. The building itself is in good condition, all the equipment was modern and had everything that might be needed. You can also buy a meal and/or coffee at the cafeteria or buffet if you're hungry. The minor things to improve are a lack of place to sleep for father in the room (had to sleep on mattress on the floor - although I did not care after 24 hours of no sleep), waiting for anesthesia an hour extra cause anesthesiologists were busy and waiting for urgent surgery cause there was another more serious surgery going on (still my wife was constantly checked on her condition)...But all in all, everything went good and our experience was very positive and I would recommend the place for meeting with your baby!
marcos almeida: My wife arrived at the hospital pregnant (8 weeks), bleeding, and they told us there was no available ultrasound. Guess what? The doctor said:” the ultrasound team will call you through the next week and book a day for you to take the ultrasound.” This is unbelievable and unacceptable! Because she was bleeding on the weekend, we must wait until Monday. I’m wondering how this place which called itself a woman hospital, does not have an ultrasound for pregnant available for emergencies? It's reasonable and more than necessary an improvement for them.
Jasmine Carlson: I had day surgery today and every single staff member that I interacted with were so so lovely. I have never had such a calm time at the hospital, everyone really helped me not feel anxious in the slightest even having an IV in which is a huge phobia of mine went smoothly and didn’t cause me anxiety like it usually does. There was even a dog that came to say hi beforehand which was so great for calming any anxiety I was having. I had anxiety when I got to the hospital but by the time I went into the OR all of that anxiety was completely gone. 10/10 staff ☺️
Marcia Matchett: The best I have ever been treated and I finally feel Amazing after years of struggling.
Deniz Soykurum Çetin: I have had mammograms and biopsies at this hospital. The doctors, operators, nurses, and anyone working here is lovely and caring. They explain everything, they make you comfortable. Best care. Always grateful.
Gail Latowski: If you are just getting a Covid test and not pregnant or you don’t work in health care don’t go to this clinic. They will send you to 1290 Homer St. and now you have to pay for the test- $45. or $65. depending on what you are getting.
Megan: We received OUTSTANDING care, attention and guidance throughout the delivery of our first baby at BC Women's Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Rosengarten, Dr. Wong and all the maternity nurses and support staff. Absolutely fantastic health care teams at this hospital!
Enzo Guo: Great Doctors and Nurses, but the tiny parking stall is annoying, almost guaranteed door ding. I got a Tesla and I can tell people are being very careful but however I still got door ding on both side.
David Howell: I just wish I could give BC Women's Hospital 10/5 stars. The staff were down right incredible for the birth of our first child. Can't imagine that experience without them.
RobJamie Lee: We had an AMAZING experience delivering at BC Women's. This was our 2nd child but first time delivering at BCW. EVERY nurse we worked with were pleasant and professional. Everything was organized and we felt were were under the best care possible. We were also pleasantly surprised how good of the food was and how we get to pick what we'd like. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to stay at BCW this time. THANK YOU BC Women's and the entire team we are so grateful for you.
Kevin Cooper: My wife had 3 beautiful and healthy babies here and our experiences were absolutely wonderful and perfect. Especially considering babies 2 and 3 were twins! (Thank you, Dr. Blumenthal). Thumbs up!
Muffet: born here
Kim J: Please investigate well enough for the case, recent accident, the loss of 2 persons, a mom and baby.

Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine - Boucher Campus: what do users think?
Peter theRock: Not allowing Drs to work who wont take your govt experimental non vaciine is a contradiction to naturopathetic medicine and you guys ought to be ashamed, no more support from me
Brian G: Quack
N D: I'm a former student. The school itself is okay. Lots of the teachers are good (except for Vargo, who's awful), but they are underfunded and rushed. They try, but they often fail, pressure, and/or stress their students. I went there because it is, currently, the only option, but hopefully more options will appear in the future. Do a bit of research, first, if you're considering this place as a student.
Luke Mountjoy: Great way to access affordable naturopathic care! Guaranteed to have at 2-3 clinicians working on your case at one time (a 4th-year student intern, supervising naturopathic doctor and potentially a 3rd-year student intern). Can not beat that! As a teaching clinic, the students are very thorough, safe and supervised closely from licensed practitioners. A great avenue to access the full scope of naturopathic care. Highly recommended.
CARISSA GAUTHIER: Have been going to this clinic for almost a year now. Have had great results and everyone has been very attentive and caring. Would definitely recommend getting laser treatment for any old injuries! It’s a miracle worker... feels good to go to a clinic where people actually care about you and your long term health, not just curing your symptoms which they will also help you with!
Miyah Lampe: An amazing example of true patient-centred care! I have been attending the Boucher Clinic for about 4 months now and I could not be happier with the care I am getting. It is evident that my primary is extremely invested in my health as each week she asks for updates about a variety of aspects of my life and spends an ample amount of time outside of our appointments to come up with the best treatment options for me. The daunting doctor-patient hierarchy is nonexistent in this clinic as the doctors are open to listening to you, respect your decisions and aim to educate you on your health a little bit each time you are in the clinic. The Boucher Clinic offers a wide variety of treatment options including, but not limited to; acupuncture, botanical remedies, homeopathy, women's health exams, hydrotherapy and food sensitivity testing. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for an affordable Naturopathic Physician.
Kyla Stewart: Highly suggest trying a hydrotherapy session for detox and relaxation!!!Hydrotherapy uses hot and cold application. The student practitioners were amazing and very knowledgeable. I found the experience relaxing and rewarding as I started to feel the affects of detoxification a few minutes after the treatment. The students here also do acupuncture which has been helping me deal with stress and the sore muscles that come with it.
Jeremy Bolduc: I have been a few times and every visit has been pleasant. Very friendly staff, great doctors and soon to be doctors.
Tegan Daniels: Despite the mess in the lobby, the pissy smell when walking by outside its nice. I'd hate to see what the hidden corridors and washrooms look like..smdh..whomever is working as janitor needs to be fired!!
Melody Kruppa: Boucher is a god send. I was treated with respect and it its totally patient centered care with an hour for each appt. Very detailed analysis of health and great advice but not pushy. They helped me with a condition i had for years which an allopathic dr said only medication would help. A natural tincture did the trick and I was totally skeptical but it worked. Their prices for their tinctures and supplements are very very reasonable. The front desk staff are very friendly too. If i had any doubts about naturopathy they went out the window after my treatment at boucher. I highly recommend this place. Yes ofcourse they focus on diet heavily for some things because diet affects our whole system, but they dont PUSH their ideas. Slowly i made changes to my diet and was helped a great deal by it. The accupuncture is also amazing. Highly reccomend going, even for a consultation visit just to see how nice they are, how caring and what they think they can do for you. Its worth it.

College Clinic - Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine: what do users think?
TCICTCM Classroom2: Great treatment of TCM clinic in Vancouver!
Janet Reid: MY GO-TO PLACE FOR INSTANT RELIEF AND HEALTHY MAINTENANCE.ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL, VERY CALMING ENVIRONMENT AND ALWAYS MAKES ME FEEL COMFORTABLE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TEAM OF PROFESSIONALS. OVER THE YEARS, THEY AVE NEVER LET ME DOWN.
Soeine Bac: The admin staff, teacher, and students were friendly, courteous, and accommodating. I went there to receive acupuncture. Mostly I was treated by the students. When the teacher did the needle work on me to demonstrate for her students, it was painless and smooth. But when students worked on me, it was often painful, and sometimes blood came out. I expressed the pain, but nothing much was done to alleviate the situation. My legs felt uncomfortable for at least two days after. I went there twice, and the second visit was worse. So I consulted with a Chinese friend, and he adamantly suggested I should stop receiving acupuncture from the students. Acupuncture should be painless without blood coming out. The fee is cheap, but that’s not worth the pain and unpredictable risk.
Amanda Poitras: The team and students at Tzu Chi are very welcoming, accommodating, and thorough in their work. I feel nourished and cared for with each visit. I highly recommend this clinic for affordable, holistic, and effective health care.
Parvin Ehsani: I’ve joined Tzu international college for doctor program of TCM. It has been such a wonderful opportunity to study Chinese medicine in this school. Very knowledgeable instructors, lovely classmates and passionate and friendly staffs. I’m so grateful to have a chance to join this team. The education program and the materials are informative and very good organized.
nilomontemayor: Just passed my acupuncture license exam in one take! Credit goes to this school and to all wonderful teachers who trained me. Highly recommended!
Yeana: I've been a student of the school for last 4 years, and it was such a great time of studying TCM with passionate, very patient and acknowledgeable, instructors, and lovely classmates! The quality of studying materials was informative and organized for me to study TCM easier and in more efficient way. Fairly high passing rates for board exam preparation.
Chenjie Yao: Unprofessional administrator who are clueless. Don't waste your career here.
Ho Jayni: Very ridiculous bad attitude of their services.Poor staff. Very doubt it how can the school have such bad services with very unprofessional staffs.
Juliana Shek: I am truly blessed to have such an amazing team of caring Chinese Medicine Practitioners treating me for the past few months. I had stomach acid reflux and heartburn and was searching for a cure once and for all. From the reception, the medical students, the instructor, to the pharmacy, everyone cares about and pays full attention to the patients. I had Alex, Lulu and Jiwoon under the direction of Dr Claire Kao to measure my pulse, ask for my health issues in detail, do the acupuncture, and give me the prescription herbs. The acid reflux and heartburn are not coming back. We have started to treat my chronic back pain and hope to alleviate the pain.I would highly recommend the clinic if you are looking for an alternate treatment to improve your health and well being.Good job, Alex, Lulu and Jiwoon. I wish you all the best in your study next term.
L Mc: This place used to be great. I started going to the student clinic after I had a bad bicycle accident over fifteen years ago. I saw lots of different groups of students: observation groups with an instructor, as well as senior students. There were some great instructors during that time, but the place has gone downhill in recent years. I can't say why or how this happened, maybe because they moved the school or because of changes imposed by the licensing board - or maybe just poor management - but where the schedule used to be completely full (it was hard to get an appointment), it is now mostly empty, so I guess I am not the only person who has noticed a difference. Some of the instructors are lazy (Frank Feng being one of them) and some of the good instructors have moved on... the students and even the reception now seems uninterested in actual health and customer service, and focused more on just doing their job, with little interest. Students show up late, I am often kept waiting for my appointment, then it takes them another 20 minutes to get the needles, and they do the minimum required. Too bad, as I think the quality of treatment used to be very good. I wish I knew what had happened.
kim peters: This was a very bad experience. Instructor was rude and unprofessional. My wrist hurt for days after my treatment because the instructor didn't check if the pins were too deep. This was an overall very bad time.
Shanti: Once of them best treatment I have had. It changed and saved my life. I highly recommend this place and new approach to medicine & healing.
Guilherme Marques Silva de Carvalho: Very nice place. With lovely students and excellent staffs.
phil S: If you're dream is to become an acupuncturist and the closest school for doing it is that one, find a way to study in another one or change your dream. EVERYTHING is wrong in that place. Particularly their values and their relation with money(the god they believe in). So far from the values that a medicine school should have.
Bonnie Park: This is a school you should be using to get acupuncture treatments for cheap :) yes, the students are working on you, but they are very professional and have an instructor designated at all times. And don't limit your experience to just a one-time appointment. Every practitioner is different, so it is a great place to find yourself the best practitioner for you. At $25/treatment, take advantage! It's a great clinic.
