Rutiger Payback: After we stopped at a local mall our car wouldn't start. I've used Instamek before so I gave them a call. They were able to set up an appointment for the next day and the mechanic quickly discovered the problem and fixed it, all inside an hour. We wanted someone to diagnose the problem so we can know if it's worth repairing or we should just scrap the car. The mechanic arrived at our home in North Vancouver and was very thorough and provided us with a detailed report. geoff Sharpe: Been two days since we got our inspection. Been trying to contact them for follow up on the issues our car has. They were open on Saturday till the evening, I called them early afternoon and they said they were closed. We are on a messag y chat with them so they have our info - no folllow up after the report was done.We paid $300 for inspection (which is very pricey) and they offered no additional follow up on the issues, just a report we were supposed to parse. If you’re paying a premium like this for an inspection there should be at least some followup from the company on the severity of the problems, the cost to fix, etc. The report is pretty useless without the context or understanding of the severity of the issues.I’m giving them 1 star for the timebeing but will update it later if they get back to us with any sort of information.

However this is not what they told me and what I agreed to on the phone.

angela roy-wright: Don’t waste your money! I hired this company to do a mobile pre sale inspection: I paid $285 for the service which is pretty pricey. They inspected my car & gave me a report that said everything was in pretty good shape (other than a few minor issues that I was aware of & had no issue with). I bought the car for about $7000. The car started having issues within a short period of time. I took it to a mechanic to get it looked at & they said the transmission was shot & a couple other problems that would cost upwards of $6000-$8000. I had to return the car in the end. Was SUCH a waste of money hiring this company. They told me absolutely nothing useful & all I got from the experience was a $285 bill on top of all the other bills I had to pay. 100% do not recommend!!

Very detailed in every step of the service.This time I also booked a specific diagnostic request for a driver power seat issue which he resolved in a short time (saving me a lot of money where another shop advised me that I will have to replace the seat and the official manufacturer service department was going to charge me 2hrs labour for diagnostic - issue was just a loose screw...Jack has been my regularly requested mechanic with #instamek (including pre-purchase inspection at the dealership) as he's proven his expertise and trustworthiness in identifying issues honestly and know that I'll be back safe on the road until the next service appointment.Thank you Jack, sincerely appreciate your top notch service!!
Sean Santos: I had InstaMek do a pre-purchase inspection for a used car I was looking at. They scheduled a mechanic to come to the dealership the next day during my appointment with the dealership. The mechanic Ali was punctual and friendly upon meeting him. He let me watch as he did his thorough inspection of the vehicle and showed me anything he found concerning. Turns out the vehicle had a few major safety issues that the dealership was not willing to repair or reduce the price for me. Ali's expertise and communication made walking away from the dealership the easiest decision I've made all year.

Rope Star: Booked an appointment, waited two weeks or so and then they cancelled the day before via voicemail as they were unable to find a technician for a wheel alignment. They declined to reschedule as I guess they just couldn't be bothered trying to make good on the poor service. Pretty shabby.

Gregoz Gawronski: I had my car fixed at Taylormotive twice in the past few years. Each time the paint started coming off and this time the paint lasted only 3 years. Not sure if it is cheap paint or poor workmanship. When I pointed out their “guarantees body repairs for as long as you own the car” motto displayed on their website, it was somehow me, the customer, to be blamed, or the previous substandard repairs. Only the previous repairs were done by Taylormotive themselves a few years before. It took them months to reply to my complaint. So, cheap paint, low-quality work, and a terrible finger-pointing service. I don’t recommend Taylormotive.Service:Body Trim

They even helped me install my new front license plate (I moved from Alberta). Lily & her husband are the most wonderful, friendly, reliable people. All services are at extremely reasonable prices. I once took my tires for a winter to summer tire change and she called me to warn me the summers were in such bad condition and advised against changing them, and they didn't charge for any work they had done. I've always had synthetic oil changes and the prices are astonishingly low compared to the dealerships and even other repair places.I wouldn't go anywhere else for any car repair or maintenance needs. Lily was lovely to deal with, there were some fixes needed on my car but they were very reasonably priced and they did them so quickly, keeping me updated the whole time. I ask them to align it again as it will damage my brand new tire of my 2 Cars,they align it again but the same situation and get worse i ask Anthony Ho(head technician)for a road test he told me they are busy .so i get frustrated as they are not giving me answer.I decided to ask them to reinburse my money ,I talk with lily she said that only 1 car i can reinburse suddenly Anthony Ho step inside the front desk threatened me, he said if I'm looking for a trouble (pick a fight with him)just come back. So I lost 120.00 $ then I went to other shop for alignment and pay for 140.00$ for each car ,a total of 280.00 $ for 2 cars ,you can check on photo. I put the receipt of alignment from Do most & from the other shop .if you want to check by yourself that you have perfect alignment drive your car for 80 to 90 kms in highway then hands off from steering wheel about 2 minutes if it is straight that means it is good if it pull to the left side or right side, your alignment is bad like what DO MOST sHOP done to my 2 cars & you need also a printed copy of the adjustment of camber and caster of the wheel not just the receipt.if alignment is not perfect it will damage your tire.You can check in youtube specially on angels mechanic (#alignment)...Anthony Ho Im not asking to get back my money you can keep it.....Service:Wheel alignment

Matt Shane: This business is crooked. I booked an appointment with them, which was subsequently cancelled without them notifying me. I tried calling and emailing several times and could not get ahold of anyone. They had my money since I booked the appointment on their website using a credit card. The only way I could finally get a refund was by contesting the purchase with American Express. I never received any service and fought this for about 2 months. Bottom line: do not do business with Smart auto check.
Marwin Rueffer: I strongly DO NOT recommend this company. Booked a prepurchase inspection and nothing happend at all. for days. After giving them multiple calls and emails without getting any reaction at all the car was gone (as was a lot of my time spent on this crap). Therefor do not consider smartautocheck for any services.

So I Call smartautocheck to ask what's going on, and they tell me they will call the seller today and set a time to check the vehicle. At the End of the day I get a call from the seller saying he hasn't heard from smart auto check and wants to know what's up, as others are also interested in this vehicle. Frustrated I tell him I will call smartautocheck as soon as they are open and let him know what's happening.The next day, I must of called smartautocheck 50+ times and left multiple messages. Every time it went straight to the answering service. I Have not received a single call back from them. The seller doesn't want to wait for this BS anymore and has decided to move onto other buyers. I missed a great opportunity with this vehicle."Smart" auto check has not called me back as of yet. And I am in the process of figuring out how I get my $150+ money back. Unbelievable. Complete and total rip off. Avoid these people at all costs.....I wish I had just taken it to a mechanic myself as I usually would of done.

But when I checked the car by myself, lots of things were found that were not reflected in the report. Michael John: Ali truly is a 5 star automotive technician. He has years of automotive experience. He is no rookie and knows what he's doing. I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S that needed headlights replaced to LED and he did it without any issues all while having a normal conversation with me at the same time. I'm in the process of having him do some additional repairs for me. He is fair on price with a great attitude.

I called them thinking it was my brake pads, turns out my brakes were barely holding it together and the adhesive was gone and the pads came off everything. Dodo Poze: Experienced and trustworthy mobile mechanics. My beloved 2011 BMW 335d's sensors told me I needed new brakes, so I had to call them. They came around 30 minutes later and told me that while my brakes were good, my sensor was not. It's good to have a trustworthy business in town. I wouldn't have known if they had tried to sell me new brakes. I'll be contacting them again for BMW's future suspension replacement as well as any more “surprises” that may occur

Donna Delgado: He went above and beyond the clutch I needed replaced, and even cleaned my car, inside and out. Work and parts warrantied for a year! Incredibly welcoming, professional, and communicative, making sure I knew everything going on from start to finish. Highly recommend! I'll never go to another mechanic!
Jennifer Hollar: The owner was very attentive and even participated in my vehicle repair. He was very quick to resolve my issues. We even had time to talk about local restaurants and each others lives.
Paul Pickell: This used to be my go to place for seasonal tire swap and oil change, but the change in ownership has been a real drag. I had an oil change and tire swap performed here back in October 2022, I was shocked that it was over $600 for that service. The same service from the previous management was ~$200, just 6 months earlier.My real grievance, though, is that they over torqued some of the lug nuts. Took my vehicle to a Costco tire center to find this out, they recommended me to go to a mechanic. So I called Grandview Auto to tell them all this and I wanted them to fix this problem they made. Guy on the phone was nice, said they’d take responsibility, and he would call me back. Never heard back, so I went to my dealer instead. They were able to get the wheels off and they also confirmed one wheel was over torqued beyond the manufacturer’s specification. As I expected, they broke a stud in the process, which was a $130 fix.Ironically, my dealer was able to do an oil change, swap the tires, and fix Grandview Auto’s horrible prior job for less than half what I was original charged by Grandview Auto. Folks, I cannot stress enough that there are better shops out there.Been about a week as of this post. Still waiting for Grandview Auto’s phone call to take that responsibility.

Ali Sadeghi: Came today and the past 2 times to change my tires. Fast service and very friendly mechanics/workers. Was in and out in less than 45 minutes, fast service even though I arrived unannounced. Came here because i needed a proper job done to safely change my tires off the rim and they have the proper tools for it. If you have a nice set of rims, this is a pretty good shop to change your tires at. They let me know i had a crack on the inside of one of my rims, they let me know exactly why i should fix it and told me to look for a rim restorer/welder to fix the crack for my safety. I have only been here twice for tire changes but was very satisfied with the service. It also seems like they value giving good service which i like as well. I would HIGHLY recommend going to this shop over shops like Kal Tire, Fountain Tire and Mr Lube.
Nathan Jones: My first experience here was great, with good service and reasonable prices. Unfortunately, my second experience was quite poor. I paid $300 the first time (in April 2022) to swap four tires onto new rims and replace two pressure sensors. I had to get the next two sensors replaced. When I called to book the service I was not told a price but was told I would be sent an estimate. I never received the estimate but assumed (I think quite fairly) it would be far less than the original work since much less was being done.It cost over $350 to have less work completed. The staff told me AFTER the work was done and after I had paid that I should have waited to do it with my next rotation or other tire work.I wanted to support a local business but this was quite disappointing and the pricing does not seem appropriate for the scope of work. I appreciate that prices have gone up everywhere, but I don’t think it should ever cost more money to have less work done a mere 8 months later. I don’t think I will go back.
Mahmubul Hoque: All the positive comments seem to be targeting the previous owner. The new owner doesn't seem to be able to fill their shoes as I saw with the more recent comments. I thought I'd still give them a chance, but I definitely regret it. They completely stripped my bolts and damaged my rims during a routine tire change. When confronted, they refused to take blame and tried to charge me $350. Will not be returning.

Brandon Weidema: I came here for a wheel balance, dropped the car off and went for a coffee. Upon my return, the front desk (who was very polite) explained to me that the mechanic had lifted the car and determined both front hubs had to be replaced and were going to separate from the knuckle. “very unsafe to drive”Anyways, i went to a different mechanic for a second opinion who was actually willing to show me what the real issue was and it had nothing to do with the hubs. As he could tell they were both brand new already (whole knuckle was replaced in jan 2022). i just needed to replace a tie rod on one side which was causing the play. obviously a tie rod is much cheaper than 2 entire hubs.I feel that the first mechanic from this shop was either lazy, inexperienced or worse, a con. I felt pressured to spend big money on 2 hub replacements in a quick succession. Thankfully, I knew better but others with no experience may be spending money without much reason.

Daniyar Abdrakhmanov: I made an appointment for Jul 29 two weeks prior and even confirmed the appointment. On the day of the appointment I bring my car and arrange a lot of plans around the repair. But the shop is closed and on the voicemail it says that they are closed till august 12th. No warning or communication on their side about this. Good people working there and honest. Just horrible communication. Now I have to rearrange all of my plans and look for another shop.

Thought I might give the new owners a try for a tire repair.Just tried to book an appointment using their Facebook system the day before I wanted to bring it in. I received no response to the booking request, and calling them left me on hold for 15 minutes with no response. I guess they wont be getting my business after all, which is unfortunate as it was convenient in terms of their location to me.

I was unaware they were super busy with other jobs and I had my car sent there for the claim and repair. Initially I found the communication regarding my claim to be poor. After I voiced my concerns the shop manager was on the ball. He repaired my vehicle and cleaned it up. While it was there I paid for an additional repair which was a pre-existing issue prior to the claim. They repaired my issue very quickly. I am very happy with the service I received from the shop manager and receptionist. This is a family run business that charges fair and reasonable prices. If I ever encounter another issue with my car I will be a returning customer. Thank you for fitting me in with your heavy workload.

Jagdeep Randhawa: Used their service few months ago to get oil change done on my Toyota and for getting an aftermarket halo ring light installed. Planned to use their shop mainly for the lights. Called them and was advised they could do it. Dropped my car and was told they will call back and update with a quote. Never got a call back. Had to call them twice only to be told that the light work can not be done and that the price for oil change was $216 including labor. What a waste of $200+. Got my truck serviced with a multi point inspection and a complementary car wash from Toyota for $250 recently. IMHO consider NOT using their services for anything other than body work

Benjamin Keefe: Have been here twice and they have always been quick and helpful . Both times I was able to get in the next morning and have my vehicle back by the end of the day repaired. Only downside is not much parking but still only a small price to pay for good location and good service . Check them out

Todd: Great place! I wish we had brought our car here sooner. The engine mount they ordered came in not looking 100% to their liking so they ordered a second one. The first one may have been fine, but I really appreciate them striving for perfection. Also, them immediately explaining that the right side mount would be the only one causing our problem, so other two wouldn't need replacing was nice. Problem fixed, car runs great now. The communication, price and work were all top notch.

J Page: Where to even begin with these guys?I'm appalled. Nightmare service. Literally worse than when I dropped it off.. and they just ditched my vehicle on the side of the road, I had to leave work to come and get it. They took apart the center console and dash and JUST LEFT IT ALL DISASSEMBLED AND SCATTERED AROUND THE INTERIOR. Incredibly unprofessional. I almost feel like I'm a part or two lighter than before I brought it to them. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.

Charn Riarh: This shop is a very rare place. A group of mechanics you can trust to do honest work (something very rare in this industry) and provide you with insight on what else needs to be done. Frankie and his staff do tremendous and I would highly recommend getting work done from them. I can’t express how grateful we are for this place.We had a wedding event at the Pipe Shop nearby and our wedding car was a beautiful 1967 lincoln continental. The car was having major issues while braking as we arrived at the venue. I was on the phone calling multiple places to get this issue sorted before the bride and groom would make their exit. Many places said they were too busy or were not able to help with a car this old. I called this place and they were very understanding of the situation and the importance of getting this car going. He told me to bring the car by so they could take a look. As soon as I brought it in, two of them stopped what they were doing to focus on the Lincoln. Found the issue very quickly, explained why it was happening, ordered the caliper bracket bolts in from lordco, sanded down the metal shavings off the brake caliper, checked the other side, bled the brakes and had me back on the road in no time.I made it back before the wedding was over and in time for the exit. They saved the wedding day from disaster and we are forever grateful. Thanks again!
Samantha Lo: Went for a typical oil change. Was charged an hour of service for that as well as unnecessary "add-ons" that I did not ask for (like he checked my brakes when I didn't ask for it). Had to pay over $200.

Ken Chiu: Had timing belt replaced but the camshaft sensor or something was not properly installed causing engine light to come on. I took it in about 10 months later and they won't fix it under warranty. I ended up paying for additional fixes for them to charge 1/2 rate on the camshaft sensors.
