Vancouver Veterinary Hospital: what do users think?
Hippo: Avoid
Gordon Kerr: I have been coming here with my red heeler, Wyatt for a few years now, I'm always impressed with the service and friendliness of the staff. They explain things very well and make me feel comfortable leaving my dog with them. Even helped me get my kids back in the truck while I carried my super groggy dog.
Reban Nouri: If I could give them 0 star I would. I think they recently hired a new receptionist and she is very rude. My dog has thyroid issues and I am explaining to her that he will run out of his pills in a few days and need a refill and instead of saying yes no problem, I’ll put a two weeks order in for him and he will need to see the doctor to see if his condition gotten worse. She says” you can’t get a refill unless you make an appointment that is our policy to make sure the dose is the right does still” and I continue to explain to her at this point we know he needs this dose so I need a refill and continues to repeat the same thing. So I tell her so you are putting my dogs life at risk and hold his refill as hostage right now. You want him to feel ill until you do your test. She continues to repeat that 95% sure that the doc won’t approve it. This is unreal. You are putting my dogs life at risk so you can make a few hundreds. Keep in mind they could’ve told me about the blood work at his last refill. He has had this condition for the past 5 years and he has had this vet since his first shot. He is 9 years old. Every other receptionist that I had come across here before told me we cant do the usual refill quantity, but I can give you some until he gets blood work. Not this lady. She must’ve had a bad day or something. Last refill this same lady doubled the quantity of pills instead of his usual one and I didn’t t say anything because my dog needed it. They use to be good, but not anymore. I am moving my dog somewhere else.
Christina Thoma: Our chihuahua had a tooth emergency that required extractions and the clinic took very good care of her. She recovered fast and is doing great. We felt confident and well informed throughout the process even though we’re far from home and this was our first time visiting the clinic. Thank you.
Leo Li: Very helpful staff and good atmosphere overall. Doctor Amy Cheung is the best as always
Karlee P: We greatly appreciate the care our new puppy has received from Vancouver Veterinary Hospital. We were so impressed by getting a follow up call from the veterinarian on a long weekend! Thank you to everyone at VVH!
Carson Tai: Very kind and helpful staff. Takes very good care of my dog. They are quick to respond to emails as well! Thanks!
Newsha Khalaj: I have reported them to the complaints board of College of Veterinarians of British Columbia because of our experiences here and what they did. I would NEVER recommend them to a single pet owner.
Jane Dyson: Thank you to all the kind and gentle folks at Vancouver Veterinary Hospital. We have been clients here for over 20 years and we and our beloved pets have always received excellent, tender loving care. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Philip Wolfman and Jennifer who spent so much time working with our little Ecco. We miss her deeply, but know she received the very best care from you. Take good care until we see you again.
Cathy Li: To respond to the owner’s response below: first of all, I was talking about your attitude and the way you treated a customer of your business. It was disgusting how you being so cocky that morning, when I asked for help from you to explain something on the consent form. 2nd, when you and your business call yourself as animal advocate, you take the moral high ground to force ppl to do thing in your way, and that’s why being one day late from what a vet recommended is not acceptable by you, regardless someone has spent thousands of dollars and in the meantime suffering from a shocking news. You can list all the facts of my cat’s critical conditions, but it’s not your excuse to threat your customer. 3rd, you gave a background of the situation, including saying the vet had concern of my cat might have heart failure in Dec, to support your response. However, this is exactly the evidence to show the problem of your business. I have NEVER been told that the vet had such concern before the ultrasound. I wasn’t mentioned anything about heart failure in Dec. Your business has communication issue, giving the fact that we had different doctor almost every appointment, and that every time I called, either for follow up questions or appointments, I had to repeat the thing again and again, your staff didn’t know much about a client’s history or what needs to be done. I don’t feel being cared from a so called “animal advocate”. Last but not least, technician also needs to interact with ppl, some customer services and emotional intelligence workshops may be helpful to you. - on Feb 23I have been taking my cat to this clinic over 10yrs and today I had the worse experience I ever had. The staff was so arrogant and didn’t bother to explain the form I need to fill out, until I told her that I don’t understand some medical terms. And I was forced to book an appointment by this staff, regardless I had emphasized that I need to see a doctor that I’ve talked to and can easily communicate with, even the appointment is only one day after the day she wants me to book, and her reason is that the doctor advised that I must bring my cat in that specific time. She just kept pushing. As a pet owner, I’m responsible for my pet’s health and I understand the risk. I hate being treated in this pushy and threatening way.I wanna give negative if I could, 2stars only for the past experience and old staffs.
Dora Prieto: Really fantastic staff and I found all the vets had a really nice way of working with my cat, making him feeling comfortable and letting him settle into the room and sniff instruments etc. felt like they cared and they weren't trying to just push us through asap.
Mister Kim: I would give minus 5 stars if possible. I ordered meds earlier this week. I called before going to to confirm. I arrived today and they were out of the meds I HAD ORDERED AND THEY SAID WOULD BE READY!! VVH is not close to my house. Its not convenient for me to go. I dont have time to go twice in one week. I DIDNT EVEN GET AN APOLOGY. The rude woman, who obviously messed up my order, just shrugged and said “we get our orders on Tuesday!” THAT DOESNT MATTER. YOU TOLD ME TO COME SATURDAY! Im never going back here. Its going downhill fast. Stay away from this place.
Abby Nicole: Best vet in the city!
JSM: Been taking my dog here for awhile, the doctors and staff are super helpful!
Christa Siminiuk: Very kind, friendly and caring staff. Thank you!!
Irma Reid: First time here for my Grandkitty, wonderful doctor and wonderful staff!
Mima Accettura: Sadly leaving this veterinary facility due to a lack of communication and care for animals welfare and owners welfare. They will ask you to bring in your dog early only to have your dog sit and wait for half the day while nothing happens. Telling you that the Dr's are doing the work when in fact it is the Technicians who are doing the majority of any work. If you tell the staff important information that must be conveyed to the Dr's it does not happen even if this information is critical to owner safety. For instance not being able to drive in the dark therefore requiring that the work be completed in time so that I could safely drive home. They charge like the Dr is actually performing the tasks but in fact the Dr. performs a review of the work completed. Suggests extractions of course!! I no longer trust this facility. I don't like being lied to but they will say they miss spoke?? There are alot of staff in front and back and that is what you pay for. Vet suggested that soft tissue Surgeries are performed first which I replied why was I asked to bring my dog in at 8:30 am? His response was that emergencies take priority having mentioned that spaying and neutering are first on the list??? I don't consider these emergencies but still doesn't answer why my dog should have been brought in so early or why I wasn't given all this information to make the most informed decision to leave my dog there all day only to have his teeth cleaned so late in the afternoon by technicians that I had to demand the return of my dog so I could safely drive home. The more I became anxious the longer they took and kept stalling me. This facility operates arrogantly. Very upsetting and frustrating to not be respected. They are too expensive for obvious reasons none of which include efficiency and customer respect which are severely lacking. I'm bringing my dog to see another vet for a second opinion. This vet clinic would have extracted 4 teeth if I had not questioned them and still a simple cleaning cost 1200$$$ and a dr was barely involved in the process. They suggest a wiggly tooth should be extracted? Yikes there is a serious problem here.
Elaine Leung: Vets and staff are knowledgeable and genuine.
J M: I have nothing but praise for VVH. Dr. Kong and all of the other veterinarians have been so caring and knowledgeable. I feel lucky to have found this place.December 9, 2022I can think of no other way to express my deep appreciation than through a review. Today I had to say goodbye to my cat, and the kindness and thoughtfulness of Drs. Kimberly Cruz and Irene Kong and the staff at VVH is priceless.
A Vant: We have been taking our beloved cat here for her annual check ups for the past 4 years. Reception is friendly and helpful. Vet techs are skilled and professional. The Vets are always sweet (towards are skittish cat) and super knowledgeable, following up lab results by calling us and explaining everything in detail when needed. No upselling of services. Just quality animal care.
Tough Age: i have been lucky to have almost exclusively good vet clinics in my long life of living with Cats with Issues and Vancouver Veterinary far and away has been the best. The team’s dedication and care for our cat is so clear and noted to the point that our cat doesn’t even mind the visit and she hates everything! I couldn’t recommend bringing your pet here more highly.

Granville Island Veterinary Hospital: what do users think?
Alison Bjornson: We had waited two years to get into this vet and it was worth the wait! We are trying to figure out a very complicated health situation with our dog and they have been so helpful and supportive.
Keegan Holmes: Such a relieve to know that Peaches is in the hands of Loving Professionals who have and will do right by her. Thank you!
Lindsay White: I think we all know that veterinary care can be expensive and unpredictable - we all want to do what's best for our pets, however you can't help but feel sometimes that there are unnecessary add on's, which increase the cost, particularly with senior pets. After having this experience, I decided to give GI Veterinary Hospital a try on a recommendation I received, and my experience was beyond my expectations. The Admin team are absolutely lovely and offered food samples prior to recommending me to make a large food purchase. We saw Dr. Alessandra Chek-Harder who in addition to being approachable, practical and friendly was also highly competent and was able to provide support and practical suggestions, BEFORE recommending costly tests. Dr. Chek-Harder did provide me with the information I needed for the purpose of the visit, as well as possible investments needed in the future, so there will be no surprises.I can't express how grateful I am to have now found a vet clinic in this very expensive city that works to build a long-term relationship with their client base. Cannot recommend this clinic highly enough!
Huck Baldwin: Very caring individuals here will take loving care of your fur babies. I feel very fortunate to take my cat here for very thorough care.
Jonathan Triana: Our dog has no complaints. Enough said.
Cameron Clare: Incredible staff
Chad Krolouski: We’ve been bringing our dog here since he was a pup. Always friendly and helpful. A little pricy but otherwise worth it.
Crystal Mount Tannehill: Staff is so friendly. Vet is so great. Very happy there.
DIANNE E: Sadly, I lost my 14 year old beloved Yorkshire/Silkie Terrier Cross Casey on October 23rd, from nasal cancer, 3 days shy of his 15th birthday. Casey was a rescue and we had 14 wonderful years together.I have been taking my pets to Granville Island Veterinary Hospital for close to 35 years. The level of compassion, empathy, kindness and care I have received from Dr. Cynthia Rose and Robbin over the loss of Casey has been beyond measure. The entire staff have been so caring and kind.Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Rick Brown: Compassionate and professional.
Tyler Smith: Great help and expertise, very friendly. Solved pups problem right away.
Emily Zufelt: Such a great team! So knowledgable, friendly and put care front and center of everything they do.
Kalinda Link: This is the BEST place to take your pet! They are kind, professional and caring. We take our rescue dog there and she is timid, but she doesn’t mind going here! I’d say she loves it but realistically she loves sleeping, playing and going to the beach. Vets can be scary places for pets but she is ok here. They are all so incredibly nice. I highly recommend!
Al Al: Yes 1 star. Never replied to my email and claimed I never sent an email to them before which I did and I sent a screenshot to them but they never replied.
Cora Eff: Great people, super friendly! However, beware tardiness - if you're late to your appointments by 10 mins, you may need to reschedule. That happened to me and I had to reschedule my cat's check-up.
Eric Jones: I cannot express how much I love the team here! They are always thoughtful and friendly and the countless small touches are always appreciated. Most importantly at the end of the day we trust their guidance and advise regarding the health of our cats and dog.Couldn’t not recommend more strongly!
Laura McDiarmid: Best vet and support staff in the lower mainland.
parth buch: The best doctors for you fur babies.
eva y: There’s the nicest team you could ever imagine.
Maria Honda: I like this place, and my dog was not afraid. The receptionists are friendly and pfofessional.Dr. Ignacio makes us both happy and at ease.I wish he were medical doctor.
Gianmarco Spiga: The staff at GIVH literally saved our girl's life twice this year, and got us through an extremely tough situation. You could not find a more competent and compassionate group of professionals to care for your furry friend! All procedures and costs are discussed in advance, and all the doctors take their time explaining their diagnosis and treatment plan. We are so glad we found GIVH!

Point Grey Veterinary Hospital: what do users think?
Colette Dubois: My little Bandit is so scared and "on guard" with a hand approaching, and to have found a doctor and staff who understands will be a huge relief for me going forward with this dog. I wouldn't have been to keep him otherwise. Clinic is very engaged in supporting you in your pet's "wellness journey." Dealing with my shelter dog without five years of history and my tiny runt of a chihuahua puppy, they were informative about pros and cons of procedures and made it very easy for me to make decisions on their care... They have a large competent staff and it's easy to book appointments in a timely manner. Very kind people here :)
Timothy Makrides: I recently had the pleasure of working with Point Grey Vet Clinic to prepare my dog for international travel to Australia, and I cannot recommend them enough. From the moment I contacted the clinic, the staff were friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the complex requirements for international pet travel. The team at Point Grey Vet Clinic made sure that all necessary vaccinations, tests, and paperwork were completed in a timely and thorough manner, leaving nothing to chance. What really stood out to me about the team was their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of my dog throughout the entire process. They provided me with helpful tips and advice on how to keep my dog calm and comfortable during the long flight to Australia, and followed up with me after every appointment. The level of care and attention to detail provided by Point Grey Vet Clinic was truly exceptional, and it gave me peace of mind knowing that my dog was in good hands. I am so grateful for their expertise and support during this stressful and complicated process, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of veterinary care for their furry friends.
Valos Farsangi: Visited for the first time yesterday and I've been very pleased with the level of care and professionality of all employees I've interacted with. From Violet at the front desk, to Maria assisting the veterinarian and Dr. Castro herself, all exhibited an extremely high level of skill at what they do. It's evident that they genuinely care for animals and I felt totally safe having my puppy in their care. Will be returning here for all my veterinary needs.
Danika Cahill: Timmy the cat has had positive experiences with every vet, vet tech and front end staff. Timmy had several health issues when he was adopted. He is now healthy, happy and we both look forward to checkup appointment’s!
Sayaka Sekishima: My cat Freyja and I always have a pleasant time at Point Grey Veterinary Hospital. All staff and doctors are friendly and helpful. They listen to us and very considerate. Their advice is helpful, especially when Freyja had trouble eating food. Everyone is gentle with my cat and I can see that they are committed to fear free practice! That’s why Freyja loves visiting the clinic and I have no worries at all!If you aren’t sure where to go, I highly recommend Point Grey Veterinary Hospital!
Gavrieal Magdalena: As a lifelong animal lover and pet owner having seen really bad examples in veterinary care I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat, Dr Burke & Dr. Chan are very professional and attentive as are the technicians and support staff such as Becca and Jessica, Sage (office manager) always goes the extra mile and is extremely kind and helpful.
Emily Do: I can see all of staffs really care for pet friends and treatments given are very professional, efficient and affordable
Kathy Griffiths: We’ve lived in Alberta and BC. This is one of the best vet clinics we’ve had the fortune to find. Staff are all professional , friendly and helpful.
Camila M Cavalli: Excellent place! Akira had a really great experience today. It is clear that everybody cares about making the visit as positive as possible for the animals. She loved it so much that at the end instead of wanting to leave, she was waiting in front of the exam room trying to go in again! Thank you Dr. Burke and the rest of the staff!
Alessandra Bordini: I've always had an extremely positive experience at Point Grey Veterinary Hospital. The doctors and staff are both knowledgeable and caring, which is not an easy combination to find. Highly recommended!
Mitchell S. Zimmerman: Great staff - better than any vet I’ve visited in the area!
Gisa Laslo: Wonderful and friendly staff and the best Vets! I have taken my dogs there over many many years and glad to be back with my latest pooch!!
Karen Robinson: I just started bringing my older Dachshund to Point Grey, and so far I am completely happy with the experience.
Marcus Loh: My wife and I are new dog parents and took our puppy, Rizzo, for vaccines and a consultation at Point Grey Veterinary Hospital today. We did not have much knowledge on care or what to look out for, and Dr. Rebecca Burke and her team took care of Rizzo incredibly well. We were greeted by the amazing staff and front desk immediately and made us feel very comfortable. Dr. Burke spent a lot of time with Rizzo just to make him comfortable before he got out of his kennel. We really appreciated her patience and sharing knowledge with us. Most importantly, she was so gentle in giving vaccination to Rizzo. I would HIGHLY recommend going to this clinic and even if I didn’t live so close, would travel just to come back. Very happy new dog parents! Thank you team!
Ross Crooke: Great team! Everyone loves the animals, and takes superb care of them! Very helpful to the humans also - from the front desk, technicians helping with paperwork, and of course the vets. Thank you so much!
Peachy: It was our first time here today for a nail clipping. The ladies were so nice and the tech was amazing, I have a huge dog and she was so good with him. We had a great experience. I would highly recommend.
Alice Ho: The receptionists and doctors were polite and helpful. My dog enjoyed the experience and so did I! We will be back.
Shandee Simpao: Dr. Burke and the staff were lovely and friendly! I took my puppy, Stella here for her second round of vaccinations and Dr. Burke was very knowledgable. She told me a lot of information about vaccines and answered my questions thoroughly. They also gave me a puppy pack with a lot of information for dogs and pet insurance. Which was great because the other vets I have visited never provided that. The next day they followed up with me about how Stella was feeling and informed me to email or call them back with any other questions or concerns I had. I definitely trust the staff with Stella. Overall the service and staff were great and helpful! I recommend going to this vet.
Kate Emberton: Not impressed. Spent a great deal of money here, my pet is still suffering $500 later. My pets situation is chronic and hasn't changed even a bit, so an additional exam to be referred is not really fair. Her vet didn't call to follow up as she stated she would. I wouldnt continue investing somewhere that isn't investing in her.
Steve Charlesworth: Our little guy had a bit of a rocky start within a few days of coming home with us. The staff at Point Grey went absolutely above and beyond to accomodate treatment, answer questions and follow-up on how he was doing. I cannot speak highly enough to their level of compassion, professionalism and diligence. The environment they provide for animals is also so much fun that Cannon can't wait to go for visits and see his friends.
Andrea Wadman: I am very happy with the care my two dogs receive at Point Grey Vet. The staff are communicative, caring, and approachable, and always try to incorporate my input about how my dogs will respond best to treatment. Plus, they act quickly, if they can (one needed stitches and he was seen right away), and they treat my dogs very well.

VCA Canada Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital: what do users think?
Kristen Spanza: Tech vet helped us put on short notice for analysis glands. Happy dog.
Charly Kate: Great service with texting follow up. Gentle, fear free techniques for my nervous pooch. Much appreciated!
S Noetzel: I was so impressed by the calm and compassionate treatment of my dog today. My dog is anxious at the vet, but they were able to keep him calm and the benches they have in the examining room where you can sit with your dog is ingenious. I was happy with the treatment and had a lot of confidence in the vet and the staff. I highly recommend this wellness hospital.
Sherry Campbell: Great staff -warm, caring and professional. Dr Shea is amazing.
Gale S.: Got me an appointment fast, were quick and non judgemental which I appreciate. Did not feel like they were too pushy to sell medications and procedures. Overall would recommend.
Looks Whosetalkin: Recent staff changes are very disappointing. New veterinarian gave me advice that made my dog worse. Couldn't reach the alternate veterinarian who was supposed to be available.
Bonnie Hammond: Absolutely top notch service. The Dr was kind and understanding, the techs were just so lovely. My fur babies being sick is just the worst and having an understanding vet and staff just makes ALL the difference. I'm so happy I brought my baby here.
annabel kershaw: I love this vet clinic. My dog has had a lot of health issues, especially when she was younger and they have given phenomenal care. She loves going there and everyone treats her with so much love and affection. It's a shame if their patient roster is full and they aren't taking new pets but I have heard this is an issue everywhere - similar to family doctors - we need more vets in the city.
Shay Kelly: I have been a long time client with this clinic and on numerous occasions have been gouged for services. It's so hard to find a good vet these days. Dr. Kramer and Henry are the only ones I would see here. This is a corporation so beware this place will price gouge you.
Riaz M.: They do not accept new patients, and have no wait list for such, yet keep providing new marketing materials to business partners to give to customers who adopt new pets advising of free post-adoption vet check-ups, etc. This gives the impression that post-adoption care and appointments are accessible, which doesn’t end up being the reality, making it quite stressful for short and long term care and wellness planning. If I had known they would not be available, nor would be in the foreseeable future, I would have planned and researched into finding an alternative vet clinic in advance of the adoption. Please update your website to indicate no more patients are being accepted. Beyond my gripe and complaint, thank you for the good work that you do for our furry (and non-furry) friends!
Carissa Thomas: We've taken our little kitty to this vet for both routine visits and also unfortunately for an emergency where he ended up needing surgery. The staff here is so kind and provides as much information as possible on every action they take, through very difficult and stressful times they were communicative, accommodating and compassionate. I would recommend them to anyone who wants the best care for their pets!
Jennifer MacNeil: This hospital is very clean and modern and beautiful. The staff, in particular the ladies at the front desk are very nice. My reason for three stars is due to their communication. I phoned them in advance of my coming down to tell them that my dog had a dental injury. They told me to come in. I didn’t mind waiting if I thought my dog was being treated. About 3 1/2 hours after I arrived, they asked if I would like for them to administer pain medication. I told them to go ahead and handed her over. They brought her back to me about five minutes later and she was breathing incredibly fast. They told me that it was normal because she was on methadone. They then proceeded to tell me that they don’t do dental treatments at the hospital at all. I told them that I was going to leave and take my dog somewhere else and they said I couldn’t leave because my dog was now on medication and under their care. There are two things that I wish had happened: the person who answered the phone should have told me that they don’t do dental treatments but that they could give her pain medication. An even better option would have been to pick some medication up and treat her at home until she can see her regular vet for surgery the next day. The second communication breakdown was not telling me they were putting her on such a strong opioid. My dog has a heart murmur and would have been much better off taking something orally and resting at home until I could take her to the vet in the morning instead of being terrified and confused in a strange place.I was there for about seven hours in total and I left with a dog that still had to get treatment elsewhere the next morning. I wish they had communicated more with me about what they can and can’t do so that I knew what to expect.
Meagan Torelli: We were lucky enough to stumble upon VCA as our first vet in Vancouver. Their service is exceptional and we could not be happier with the care that they provide our little guy (dog). VCA always offer us multiple options for care and treatment. We have even been offered a payment plan when times are tough.I really cannot say enough good things about VCA. I've never met a dog who loves going to the vet as much as ours does - he is so happy and equally important, he is very healthy. Thank you VCA for always treating us and our little man so well.
Edgar Perez raygoza: I am so sad, this place is an awful one, my dog had an emergency right in the morning, and the receptionist told us to drive all the way there, she said she was going to help us as soon as we get to the hospital. When we arrive she told us “we do not have any spots available now, you can wait in your car to see if we get an spot for this evening, or you can comeback tomorrow” I don’t understand why she made us drive all the way there to tell us that as soon as we arrived. That’s is mean 😭 she just didn’t care! Horrible woman
Nicole Yuen: Always there when we need them. And they’re so kind
Violet Wilson: Great experience at this clinic. The receptionist was kind and helpful, the vet tech was great at handling my squirmy cats, and Dr Shea gave my pets his full attention and a thorough, thoughtful exam. The front desk staff followed up quickly to answer my questions and sent records for my insurance. I will be coming back again for my kitty’s dental procedure.
Jodi Jackman: Friendly helpful staff...very professional..very clean bright vet clinic, and the had my cat's special kidney diet canned food in stock!
Gary H: Amazing staff and Dr. v is great.I'm extremely protective of my dog and who gets to handle her. All the staff made sure both I and the dog were comfortable and were amazing and gentle with my dog. I unfortunately have had to deal with some not so professional vets and I'm super happy that I stumbled upon this clinic and the emergency hospital of the same company.Dr.V is very professional and very thorough. He made sure that I understood what the issues were and gave me options on how to deal with said issues that my dog was having.TLDR: I highly recommend this clinic as well as the emergency hospital of the company. Staff are great with the animals, attentive, and very professional. And the prices are very reasonable compared to some other vets that I have been to.
Ann: Taking your pet to the emergency is one of the scariest and most helpless you can feel. You become your own EMT and ambulance. I've been to other animal hospitals before (one in my hometown and then the one on Fraser and near 30th) and this one is truly amazing. The front desk are extremely kind and understanding. A woman came in to pick up her cat's ashes, very distressed, and the front desk was very gentle and soft spoken when helping her out. My own experience was also very good. I brought my cat in without calling - she had suffered a seizure and in between calling an uber and making sure I had pants on I couldn't make the call - and still they were kind and helped me. The vet on shift was extremely knowledgeable and clearly cared about helping my cat. Before I left, as I had to have her stay overnight for monitoring, the vet allowed me to see her again and hold her. I never could have imagined such kind and humane treatment at an animal hospital. Allowing me to see her was likely due to their level of congestion and might not be available for everyone but it truly made me feel better. I was recommended this hospital by my main clinic and I do not regret it at all.
Peter Musser: The staff are just lovely, and while the dog doesn't love her visits there we know she's taken care of!
Ryan Gardner: Super friendly and accommodating staff, great place to pick up your pets specialty diet needs.

Canada West Veterinary Specialists & Critical Care Hospital: what do users think?
Xu Jiang: honestly, very expensive, but worth it. I chose to be here every time.
Candice Sharpe: Our border collie was attacked by a pitbull on Saturday morning. I brought him into Canada West at 8 am. He spent the day here with such a great team. I am so grateful for how amazing they took care of him. They were extremely kind, and fast acting. After such a traumatic experience I'm grateful this was so positive. Thank you to everyone who helped with Yogi!! He is recovering well!
Stefanie Woewoda: We found out by chance through my home vet that my 9 year old Cockapoo had a gallbladder mucocele and needed to have it surgically removed. I had a few choices for surgery. A few people I trust had only good things to say about Canada West. We made the trip over from Vancouver Island. From the minute we walked through the door we felt welcomed. Every point of contact we had from reception, to the nurses and the surgeons was professional and kind. Our surgical consult was with Dr King. He was a wealth of knowledge and we immediately felt that our dog was going to be in the best hands. Our surgeon day of Dr Horntje was also wonderful and called me before and after surgery to keep me updated. My dog has separation anxiety and it sounded like she got the best loving one-on-one care. Sure it was a big bill, but if you actually take the time to think about the services that are provided and everything that goes into a surgery like this, they are not over charging. They are getting paid their worth and it is worth every penny to have my dog around for as long as possible. If I could give you 11 stars I would. Thank you so much!
Arica Hsu: I went here regularly for 5 months. The admin staff did not demonstrate competency in their work and were very focused on money, including unreasonable and unrelenting harassment for payment despite the claims already approved by insurance. They would call daily, and sometimes, twice a day because they do not communicate with each other internally. Techs did not demonstrate basic understanding of biology and pathophysiology, and made many medical errors. Doctors were more focused on inflating the invoices, prescribing - at times - unnecessary or inappropriate treatment (including premature euthanasia). I’ve made multiple attempts to speak to the managers, including CEO, and they have demonstrated a lack of insight into their own practice as they do not take accountability for their inappropriate and unprofessional conduct. They deflected my concerns and did not express willingness to improve their practice, especially around patient safety. To elaborate, they have refused repeatedly despite medical errors happening… and by the way, racial profiling is not ok.
Daniel: About as fantastic an experience as one can hope to have late at night at an emergency hospital :) We brought our dog Tokyo here last week because she was limping and experiencing tremors and clearly in pain. From the moment we walked in, the staff (both administrative and medical) at were incredibly kind, patient and sympathetic, taking time to examine our doggie very thoroughly, explain the diagnosis and our options, and offer further advice for home care. The bedside manner here was so much better than anything we’ve encountered at other clinics (or even with our own veterinarian). We also phoned again the next day with some follow-up concerns about Tokyo’s medicine and symptoms, and again the staff were incredibly helpful, patient and communicative, and their advice turned out to be excellent. We 100% recommend this place. And though we obviously hope our dog won’t medically need to come here again, knowing we can bring her here gives us serious peace of mind. Thank you!! 🙏🏽
Alyx Hough: Was it way more expensive than a laundry list of other vet clinics? Yes. Was it worth every penny? Yes. I do not write this review with a light heart...as we sadly still ended up saying goodbye to our little cat. But I do honestly believe that they did everything they could have. They were professional and kind; honest and openly communicative. Your pet is in good hands here-- no matter who helps them.
Danny Vaughan: Timmy was all but finished when we were referred to this hospital for his Kidney failure. He had 1 blocked ureter and another stone in his other one.All signs pointed to him dying of kidney failure within 24 hours of us rushing him in.Every step of the way, we were given honest and detailed information about his situation. Timmy is the reason why I am still here today. He gave me something to fight for when I had nothing else. He’s my best friend. My little brother. My buddy. On Tuesday we were told that he was not going to make it, and that we should plan to say goodbye to him. We kept him there overnight hoping for a miracle with his blood work.On Wednesday morning all of his family came to say goodbye to him as we waited in the visit room for the doctor to brief us about his results. They were positive and his kidney values had started to move in the right direction. We gave him another night to fight, then another, and another. Fast forward to Monday morning when the doctors told us that he can continue his recovery at home. We are so lucky and ecstatic to be able to have our boy home with us.Dr Drolet, Dr Quinlan, and Dr. Henricksson were honest at every step of the way. They did not try to upsell us on anything and even told us about all of the dangers of each individual treatment plan, actually steering us away from a very expensive surgery that would have fixed the short term problem, but also make Timmy’s quality of life difficult.Along with their support staff and Technicians, I felt that Timmy was respected and loved at every single turn. I wish I could think of all of the Tech’s names, but I do have to give a special mention to Jane. Jane did more than care for Timmy. She gave my fiancé hope when she had none, and she helped her remain calm during the potential loss of our best friend and furry son. Jane is a saint of a human being and I do hope to be able to tell her that personally. We have a long road for recovery for our little lad, and the reason why we can still fight for him are these incredible people at this hospital. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.
Jason Lo: Some people in the clinic are super nice but other will give you attitude. They are very slow not saying that they aren't doing their job but I waited 1 hour when I was placed in a room for a doctor to come speak with me prior to that I waited almost 3 hours also keep in mind their consolation fee is $225 so you would expect better. But the worst part about my experience is that after talking to the doctor I waited another 45 mins - 1 hour for them to print me a form. I already ask the lady 2-3 times if she ready with the form and everytime she said they will be right with me but just kept me waiting. If your pet is having an emergency I wouldn't recommend this place, also pricing is kinda expensive at this place, my puppy was quoted $6,800 for surgery here but other places quoted as low as $3,500 like Atlas hospital along***(41st and Fraser)*** and also have a much faster service and also don't have those ridiculous regulations where you can't leave until they see your pet which is like in a couple hours so you are forced to sit there.
Malgorzata Lukasiewicz: Today, I am finally calm enough to respond to the situation in their office concerning my dog, Luna, health. I am disappointed with the hospital and one of the oncologists as a "specialist". It upsets me that I trusted her as a medical professional and believed she would help our family. When explaining our situation to other specialists, everyone told us that it was insane how we had to wait one month for Luna's biopsy results, which only happened because my husband kept asking for them. Furthermore, she kept pushing the next appointment back, which others agree is cruel. She knew something was wrong with our dog, and she waited until the last moment to see her.We called the hospital and informed the secretaries about the rapid increase of Luna's tumours begging for a faster appointment. Still, they ignored all of our cries for help. When we got Luna's biopsy test, she had stage 1 mast cell cancer that could be treated immediately with chemo. (90% of the cases can be curable). However, they postponed appointments which worsened Luna's cancer and became stage three. It took TWO AND HalF MONTHS to have an appointment that was not an appointment for chemo, it was just another appointment to go and pay for. Even though the hospital had all documents for Luna, they did not do anything faster to save her. Luna already had a second surgery, and the hospital knew about the aggressive nature of her cancer because the second surgery was done in this hospital. However, they still cancelled our appointments and ignored our needs. When my husband came to the appointment, the oncologist said she was sorry. After such a long waiting time, "I'm sorry" is laughable. She could be sorry if she tried to help Luna, but the chemo did not work because the cancer was unpredictable, but she did not even try to help her. We just got an estimate for the treatments with a 0% success rate. I am not saying that we had a 100% success rate before. It is cancer, and we understand that the fight is not easy, but there is a much bigger chance if you react faster. But once again, the oncologist never pulled through on her promise of early chemotherapy, killing our dog in the process. They let us down repeatedly, and because of their negligence, we are now constantly scrambling to save our dog. For this oncologist Luna was one of the many patients, for us, Luna is one of the members of our family. We love her and we would do everything for her. And we really regret that we trusted this hospital.Presently, Luna has stage three cancer, with numerous spots all over her body. My entire family has to rearrange our lives to care for our sick dog; nothing is the same in our home. All of this is because we trusted the wrong specialist at the most crucial moment in Luna's battle with cancer.
Koala: My little Shiba Inu was so collaborative today during the checkup for the first time at the hospital. The staff was really friendly and professional in handling the dog. Really appreciate the staff and the doctor.
Rina Liddle: This place has the best customer service. All their staff, including the veterinarians, were compassionate and kind, and really took the time to get all right information and explain all the issues and options. Little Georgie was super well taken care of, and for a dog, she’s a scaredy-cat! I hope I never have to come again, but this will be the first place I come to for any pet emergency in the future. Thanks so much!
Amy Xu: Canada West Vets hospital is excellent. I was called two times for my dog emergency, bite by another big dog and is bleeding.I’m very worried for my dog and is my first time had experience with this. I was cry and anxious don’t know how to deal with bite wound.I search on social media and lots of good review for Canada West Vets and is 24 hours open.I called on late night around two o‘clock, the reception operator was very patient listen to me and ask me what situation.Told me now is busy and the estimate wait time will be two hours. I have something to do tomorrow morning, decided to contact pet hospital that I went before. But they are too busy today and told me go to another hospital. I‘m anxiously and called Canada West Vets hospital again, the reception operator Catherine she is dedicated and careful to ask about the situation, and told me hospital is busy this time, I can send picture through email and doctor will see the pic when they are available. And they called me back after doctor see the picture. As a customer I fully recommend this hospital, is pretty nice and with good service attitude.
Nadia Langenberg: Always amazed by the dedication and care of staff. My dog is extremely fearful and not an easy dog to provide care to (and who needs a lot of it unfortunately). Staff at CanWest have made our many trips so much easier. Have never had anything but a positive experience with them.
Amy Sabharwal: Too expensive.
Steven Guo: I was worried sick about my dog when he had canine bloat, and Tanna was empathetic, caring, and very knowledgeable about everythingThank you Tanna!!
Carmen Saucier: Just an outstanding team of providers and clinicians. Will ALWAYS trust them with a sick animal. Grateful to have them close by.
Mack W: Such a wonderful experience during a stressful time. The technicians genuinely cared and loved my senior cat making sure she felt as comfortable as possible during her weekend stay. The doctors and nurses were in-depth with their diagnostics, and I was always assured I could call for check ins as much as I wanted. A very professional and warm environment. Cannot recommend this hospital enough!
Consuelo Fernandez: It was the worst experience ever. I took my dog to the emergency and they did nothing for him. He was dehydrated, with fever, not eating and they did nothing. The only thing they did was charge me almost $300 cad.
Matthew Green: They give you an estimate, everything "goes as planned" but then the final invoice is nearly doubled when it comes to settling up. Appalling behaviour.I get an estimate is just that, but to jump from ~$2,000 to $3,800 is odd.Avoid if possible.
Megan B: We’ve had outstanding care at Canada West on multiple occasions (different dogs, two separate emergency visits). Both of our pets received professional, compassionate and quality care.100% recommend-You should take your pet here if you need emergency care.
Alison Rasberry: Can't say enough good about this place. I was desperate in a moment of crisis and they were amaaaazing. Kind and helpful and wise, (even on the phone beforehand) knew what was wrong right away, didn't charge me for things that weren't necessary. And a calm and comfy place to wait while my loved baby is being cared for. So grateful.

Granville College: what do users think?
Anver Malik: DOES THIS COLLEGE PROVIDE PGWP OR NOT ?
Legend Lloyd: Roman gave me great educational advice which helped my studies at SFU
Stephen James: Sometimes people get accustomed to a specific routine for so long that they hesitate when a genuine opportunity lands in their lap. For me, that opportunity came in the form of higher education.I had reservations about perusing an entirely new skill set, feeling that it’s too late in life, or that I didn’t have time, or most obvious, I just didn’t have the money. In the midst of putting my best foot forward at my place of employment, one person, in particular, noticed my potential and proposed a thought-provoking challenge to me; one that I’m so grateful to have taken.Roman Ansari discerned a very camouflaged plea in my routine and guided me to explore options. He was flexible with my strange hours of availability and scheduled me in for a consultation meeting. There were all sorts of questions I had - questions ranging from the credibility of the college to questions about the variety of courses encouraging a better salary. Despite Roman’s articulate and thorough explanations, I still needed time to contemplate what I was hearing. In the weeks ahead, Roman and I were able to schedule more meetings; each conveying more satisfaction to my questions. One thing I was able to notice time and again with Roman was that he cared. He was invested in my story and genuinely wanted to assist in the best career path for my future.Roman broke down the financial jargon into easy-to-understand language. Once I was able to grasp these reframed concepts, I wasn’t intimidated by the cost in the least. Moreover, Roman didn’t make me feel foolish if I needed something clarified about the importance of financial sensitivities and investments. I feel that I was speaking to an equal. He didn’t come at me with intimidation, or manipulation, or any tactic that skewed my purpose in enrolment. To date, Roman has displayed professionalism throughout the course, representing an administrative arm of support for the class regarding any concerns. Under Roman’s guidance I graduated with Honours, obtained a Social Media and Web Marketing Diploma. I especially recognize the powerful inspiration that Roman Ansari has been for me.I am blessed where I have secured a life long friendship with you. I look forward to recommending you to anyone that needs guidance. Thank you Roman and keep up the amazing work!Sincerely,Stephen James
Magdalena Leveque: Highly recommend Roman as the go to advisor for getting advice as well as getting funding.Very knowledgeable and caring individual. Much respect.
Sally Banerjee: Shot out to Mr Roman Ansari for giving me guidance and support. I look forward to starting a new career with the advice.Thank you again for all your help.
Bre Stevens: I am at a current student at Granville College attending Veterinary Technician Course.I had issues with ID which caused delays in me getting funding. They helped me get a flexible plan so I can start classes before my funding got approved.School staff has been amazing. My instructors are amazing and I love my classes.I highly recommend the program. Highly recommended.
HARUTOSHI MORINAGA: My name is Toshiharu. I am a current student studying Global Supply Chain Management program. I really want to say Thank you Roman Ansari for guiding me, and getting me money to go to school. Also, getting me extra help to study by arranging a tutor and staying late so I can use the class room to study every Monday to Friday. Thank you so much.
Marc Dani: Roman is doing an amazing job helping many international students find helpful practical solutions as director of admissions for Granville College
Parminder Singh: I have a question. Do this collage really transfer students to vcc or columbia collage for a PGWP ?Please reply me .
Natalia Jacoby: I first met 1.5 year ago. He took over an hour to sit down and answer my questions without rushing me and gave me some great advice.I contacted him 3 weeks later and due to my work schedule I could not meet him during business hours. He offered to meet me late evening or on weekends.I met with him on a Saturday and I shared with him about my student loan debt and bad credit. He put together a 2 year plan for me without charging me a dime.We met up a third time and he spend over an hour going over what I needed to do over the next couple of weeks to get my life back on track. Due to Pandemic it's not been easy but each time I get discouraged I call him he takes my call and returns in a timely manner. After working with him for over 1.5 year and following the payment plan that he put together, I received good news this week about my student loan status that for the 1st time it is in good status.I wish that I can fast forward time as I would love to start the next step of my life but I am glad that I am on the right track.Thank you for great advice and words of encouragement always.I look forward to starting classes after I am done fixing my debts with the advice and plan you have put together for me.Thank you again Roman Ansari for everything and for me it is not about the school. For me it is about dealing with you and I will take classes wherever you work as I am glad to have you as mentor.Thank you. NJ.
Muneera Bakhsh: I was referred me to Roman Ansari by a friend who highly recommended him.I called past Friday at 5:40pm and he said he would call me back. He called me back at just past 6pm. Apologized for taking so long to call back. We spent 40 min on the call. He extended the invitation to meet him and I told him that I work full time to which he offered to meet me on weekend.I met up with him this week and he took the time to explain everything in details, answered all of the questions and provided a lot of useful information about the course and generic information. After I was done with the questions he asked if I had any more questions to which I said no. He thanked me for coming in and wished me a great week. Puzzled I asked if he was going to ask me to fill out any forms on the spot. He smiled and replied by saying that he is not going anywhere and I need to sleep on my decision so I do not regret it.Thank you Roman for changing my past negative experience into a better one. I was not considering another course but my entire commute home I am now debating about signing up and when I do he would be the person to call.I would highly recommend Roman Ansari to anyone seeking post secondary advice.Muneera Bakhsh
Aryan Malap: I first learned about this college in June, that was when my father introduced me to Roman. He gave me a tour of the college, introduced me to very helpful instructors Mandy and Katy (lovely people) and guided me throughout my admission process into the VTA program by helping me with scholarships and payment plans. It’s been two weeks since I’ve started this program and I’ve loved every second of it. Shout out to Roman again for introducing me to this awesome institution, for anyone looking to be in the vet industry this is a great place to begin your career. Aryan
Zahra Mohebbi: I met Roman at Granville College and he has helped me out tremendously and is very kind hearted. He has inspired me to just chase my dreams no questions asked. I felt very afraid at first but his reassurance made me feel at ease. I’m very thankful that I crossed paths with him. Roman truly loves to connect with students and build a community, which I admire greatly. I definitely recommend talking to Roman if you need any mentor or just going Granville College to anyone wanting to start off in the Veterinary Industry. ❤️
Shreepad Malap: I was contacted by Granville College Jan 6 and spoke to a rep. After talking to her and meeting with her on Jan 12th I was not interested in any school for myself and put the idea aside.Last June 27th I received a call from Roman Ansari and rather than asking about school he asked me how I was doing and if I needed any help. After 30 min on the phone late night I met with him and was very impressed. I came down with my wife and son and we met with him from 7pm till 9pm and found a wealth of information. I could not enroll due to finance reason but I am happy to be getting guidance from him on regular basis. On the flip side my 17 year old son enrolled. Roman got him a huge scholarship which cut the course in half for us and on top of that he got us a payment plan for the remaining amount which helped us a lot.I want to thank Roman for going above and beyond in helping us and my family financially. My son loves the classes. Teachers are amazing and the campus Director, Nada gave us special accommodation.I highly recommend Roman Ansari to everyone. Go see him. Best thing you can do. Shripad Malap
stoic jaat: do they transfer hospitality mangament diploma students to vcc and student get pgwp after 2 years please reply ?
Deepraj Brar: I have a question. Do this collage really transfer students to VCC or columbia collage for a pgwp
Mittensz: I am one of the plenty of grads 2015 and can not stress enough of what a waste of money this was, courses are not recognized for jobs or other schools. I highly recommend taking the actual courses at recognized institution instead of taking the fast route here. It is 2022 I have never put this to use but still paying off the student loan I used for this I demand a refund!!! And the school who has gone through so many HR people and teachers don't respond for nothing.
Thảo Nguyễn: This is my first Vet college and my 1st impression for this place is that it's a pretty nice school! I graduated from the VTA program and I learned a lot from this school to apply into my practicum. My instructor, Justyna, was knowledgeful and have many stories to tell. My classmates are smart and curious. The curriculum is good and the field trips are fun. To add more, I am an international student and I'd recommend other international students to take a look into this school. I hope further in the future this school will be big and bring more courses and benefit for their students.
Monica Alejandra Urbina Caceres: This a great college with realistic goals and expectations for become a good professional in the veterinary field.
Mackenzie Deib: I wish I could give more than 5 stars, what an amazing college! The staff are awesome, and do everything to prepare you for the veterinary industry in only 6 months. I loved the small class sizes, and the support of the staff. Thank you Mandy for making this program even more amazing and helping us to find great clinics for our practicum! Im so glad I chose Granville college and highly recommend it.

West King Edward Animal Clinic: what do users think?
Jennifer Emm: Treatment plan lacked clarity, my cat still has an ear infection after more than a year. Always a different vet and their opinions are inconsistent. Very expensive too.
P P: Jackie McDowell murdered my dog, I was in shock and repeated to her several times that I did not want to put my dog down. I wanted to take her home, She knew that but kept pushing me to put her down. I told her that I was uncomfortable, didn’t feel safe and that I wasn’t thinking clearly because of shock. She forced me into euthanasia, she works at this clinic. All people should be aware and forewarned of her murdering ways towards the fur babies. This is a photo of Duchess the dog, Dr. Jackie McDowell murdered. Years later I still suffer from acute grief because of this awful vet.
TheDeadb3ar: Great vet
ari s: Best vet!
Illene Yu: Dr. Boo is one of the most compassionate, gentle, and kind veterinarians I've had the pleasure to meet. The staff at West King Ed Animal Clinic on Cambie are all friendly and professional.
Monica: Dr Boo is the best! The staff here took great care of Ralphie and found out exactly what was going on. They clearly love their jobs and it shows! Thank you so much for keeping my senior so healthy!
Learning through Stories: Feeling being ripped off, being charged twice for doctor examination fees within three weeks! My cat is supposed to have vaccinations but since we are not sure if she’s pregnant or not, so the vaccination cannot be done as scheduled, they can just simply let client know that vaccine is not recommended at this point. No need to do another check at this point! More important, after last check, I have confirmed with the doctor that I won’t be charged again before the coming vaccination. But they charged me today, talked to the manager, but she just say that she has to pay for the time of the new doctor ( which I didn’t request change) and they say it’s for different issues? Which I really cannot agree on this! Very upset! Being ripped today!!!The doctors I met here are nice and professional, however one of the front desk girl was a bit inpatient and beat the desk when I questioned about today’s charge.
Magali Signourel: A good vet like we need more of them. Real vet, real prices. He saved the life of my cat and has been following up. They do care about the owners too. Anyway, would not recommend this vet enough. Dr Harry and his team are all caring and very pro. Thanks again!
Sarah May: It took me a while to find a vet in Vancouver that had availability for new clients. WKE was my third attempt at finding a vet that was reasonably priced, skilled, and compassionate. Unfortunately it’s a rare quality to find a vet that doesn’t make you feel even worse when you go to see them with a sick pet. I’ve been so happy at WKE: they truly care about animals and also treat pet owners with care when we’re at our most vulnerable. Their prices aren’t cheap but they are reasonable in this market and they don’t overcharge for unnecessary treatments or diagnostics. Plus they are very transparent about costs and never make you feel bad when you ask questions about cost. Which is huge. Highly recommended!
Spencer Phillips: They take great care of your furry critters!! The place is clean plus everyone is very nice.
Hayley L: Great vet clinic! Was looking forever to find a new vet that I didn’t have to wait months for an appt for a stray cat that needed to be seen asap.I was able to get in right away. The vet, techs and front staff were all so professional and friendly! So glad I found this clinic for my new fur baby!Really reasonable pricing as well.
Mhm mm mann: They will just try to make you buy there food. Tell me my 17 year old cats blood work is perfect and has no issues but I need to change her diet and buy their food. Can’t even go in for blood work. You have to pay $200 for them to sell you food before you get the $80 blood work.
Laura Forsyth: Excellent and compassionate care from both Dr. Boo, Dr. McDowell and the staff for our elderly cat who passed away last fall and for our current kitten- would highly recommend!
Jennifer Leigh: After initial consult it appears that when one asked to see the same doctor each time one is considered to be difficult. I met the owner when we were teenagers. And then I met him again in the mid-80s with his wife and children at church. So I don't profess to know him but had met him and had read good things about him and so felt fortunate to be able to come to that clinic. Unfortunately I never got to see Rob and I never had any issues with the vets. Only with support staff. Oh well. Always another vet hospital down the road
kristine Jones: Thank you to Dr. Claire Ashburner, her wonderful technician Jen,Dr. Boo and the entire staff for taking such good care of our boy Charlie and of us! We highly recommend having your pet treated at West King Edward Animal Clinic.😻
Leslie Hoolaeff: Amazing and attentive team here. We're very happy with the care provided
Zen Quartz: Very happy with this place. The main staff and the veterinarian are kind people, and I don't feel like I'm being talked down to or that the vet is holding back information.
Ichigo Ryu: The staff were very professional and kind, along with the vet (Dr. Makhan and Dr. Boo). I would highly recommend this vet clinic.
Neen Daley: This clinic got me in and out pretty fast while making arrangements shortly after my bunny died. They’ve been great
Julie Rudkowski: I am sooo happy with the service from this vet clinic. They went above and beyond and were always extremely helpful. HIGHLY recommend.
Marsha Andrews: So far, excellent! Dr. Alex Boo understands the value of alternative medicine, has knowledge about it and very supportive. Many vets (and Doctors!) are not! My little Yorkie-poo will be going in for dental surgery soon. I am very confident in Dr. Boo and his staff.

Burrard Animal Hospital + Emergency: what do users think?
Anthony Lam: BLACKLISTED! BANNED! BE GOOD TO YOUR PET, DON'T TRY TO COME!We had previously suspended visiting this place for almost a year due to our past experiences. However, our dog fell ill this time and we couldn't secure an immediate appointment elsewhere. Reluctantly, we decided to schedule another appointment with them.Based on our previous encounters, it is evident that their primary concern is their own interests, particularly money. They have only one vet on duty at a time, which means that if your pet has an emergency while the vet is attending to another urgent case, your pet will not receive immediate treatment.I understand that emergencies require prompt attention, but the way they handle things is nonsensical. If they were unable to accommodate our appointment, they should have at least declined, allowing us to seek an alternative. We even cancelled our appointment at another hospital for this! I blame myself and feel terribly sorry for my suffering dog, as she did not receive the timely and proper treatment she needed. If I had the option, I would give this place zero stars!!!!!!
Astoria Yuan: They take care of my cat for about two years, and he went back to Meow Planet last night. Thanks for everything they did for him. It's his fortune to get their care. All of the doctors and assistants I met in this hospital are friendly and kind.
george rossi: Waited over an hour 15. and we were told that appointments come first while our dog was pretty ill and suffering on the floor. Told that the wait would be indefinite and they did not investigate our dog to determine what was going on.if it’s not an emergency hospital then take the sign down.
Cara Mcdonald: I am writing this review for my little cat Sunny, and for all the pet owners out there to think twice before bringing your beloved pet to this terrible place!! They misdiagnosed my baby every time over at least 4 costly visits, from September to January. My cat had cancer and despite all kinds of bloodwork ($$$) they kept telling me he was fine. I know cats sleep a lot but when your cat is totally lethargic and hides in the closet for three days...not eating or drinking that is not normal!!! He was finally referred to Canada West where the first thing the tech asked me is why does Sunny not have any platelets?! How could Burrard have missed this??!! there are alot of other things I can say, but none will bring back my best friend or my trust in this clinic. I believe they knew my cat was sick and decided to make as much money of me until they could not anymore!! Shame on them for preying on pet parents who trust you to do the right thing. At least my little cat is at peace now with no more pain! Don’t bring your pets here
Amnit Dhindsa: Dr. Barzelai is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, logical and kind! He recommended very reasonable tests to diagnose our dog (and on a long weekend). Thank you so much for your help! Dr. Barzelai takes the time to explain the issue and each test very thoroughly in simple terms, he does not use excessive technical jargon which I greatly appreciated.
Shūji Kiritani: Always had a good experience with nice and friendly staff.
Faye Li: Trustworthy vets. I highly recommend Dr. Nair. It's hard to find a vet with empathy, genuine concern, and kindness. Dr. Nair made my pup feel comfortable and his explanations were thorough. We had our pets come in for emergency for a few times and I always felt comfortable and at ease with my dogs in their hands. On top of that their examination rooms are clean. I have had a horrible experience with another vet and am so relieved to have my pets transferred here.
Jessica Davies: Have taken my (stoner?) dog here twice for ingesting THC at kits beach. The front desk staff, techs and vets I’ve encountered are empathetic and knowledgeable.Going to the emergency vet is never going to be cheap or pleasant, but if you have to go, Burrard is a good choice. The they give you the options and costs for care up front and the rates are pretty comparable to my normal non-emerg vet.
Kate Benner: I wouldn’t recommend Burrard Animal Hospital. They constantly reshuffle appointment times, even for more urgent appointments like infections.I was told to take my dog to emergency care as my regular vet was booked up and my dog required treatment for an eye infection. After booking an appointment at Burrard Animal, they rescheduled me to 9:30pm on a weeknight and then pushed my appointment until the next day (meanwhile - infections don’t go away, and the eye is a sensitive area!).Upon arrival the next day, they again told me that they were behind schedule and could provide no estimate for when my dog might be seen (?!). I understand that this is an emergency vet, however it is difficult as a client to receive little/no updates on appointment times and to repeatedly wait multiple hours to actually be seen by a vet (this has happened on multiple occasions). As someone with an extremely nervous dog, it is also very unreasonable to provide no information to clients and require them to sit with a panicking dog for an extended period in a waiting area. I would recommend that Burrard Animal improve their clinic organization to reduce the constant reshuffling and improve their communication to clients to reduce stress for all.
Okkk: Spent a couple hundred and the doctor only told you they didn't find the problems, and if you want to know the reason, you have to go through several more big exams to find out. My dog got sedation and was still not fully recovered on the second day. He became sensitive, acting like he was scared, hiding under the bed and was anxious when we reached hands to him. His legs were trembling while his sleeping, his voice was hoarse, and his breathing was heavy. But the hospital said nothing was unusual. He didn't act like that when he was given sedation at a different hospital. That time, he was entirely covered after a couple of hours. But this time, he still hasn't covered for two days. *Receptionist was friendly and responsive.
R G: Never thought I'd write this, but I feel like I've been scammed and misled. This place managed to prey on naive and anxious first time pet owners to escalate what was essentially diarrhea into a full blown potential invasive surgey or endonoscopy for our sweet kitty. We had to pay $2300 for what was a 12 hour overnight to morning stay for all sorts of checks, IVs and other work. We initially suspected our kitty had an upset tummy, or poisoned from something like salt/deicer. She was throwing up but otherwise keeping liquids in.We also thought maybe a bit of foam lodged, because of the fact she threw bits of it days before. Yet they charged $600+ for radiology x-rays to look for FOAM?!!Make that make sense please ? We didn't agree to that, if anything an ultrasound would have been the better tool? Poor judgement and duty of care to suggest and conduct unnecessary work.It looked like random unnecessary techs/jobs had been added onto the billing list to buff up as many charges as they can. I want this invoice to be revised. It's unjust and I can't believe it, the other reviews are saying the same, make a decision for yourself if you think to take your beloved pet here. This business is literally next door to my home and 24 hrs and I will never think to bring my cat here again, even if she wasn't breathing. This vet hospital seems to be for-profit, like it's run by cowboys that moonlight as vets by night. Confusing, weird medical jargon said to trick and worry you in to saying yes.Lots of prodding and probing for no reason other than to upcharge and boost their profits from each visit. You know who I am, please reach out to rectify this. I'm going to see if I can speak to my credit card company- seemingly a scummy practice.Strange to have a CPR/resuscitation policy thrust on you at the end to give you that extra worry...
Connie Mak: We started bringing our Corgi puppy Pudding to Burrard since she came home at 2 months old infected with parvovirus 2 years ago and since then, we haven’t been to any other vet. During the hospitalization, we were so worried but the clinic makes at least 3 phone calls to you during the day to give you an update and they were ALWAYS available to answer questions or provide an update whenever we called!! We were so grateful that Burrard saved our little pup’s life ❤️ and we are so glad that we brought her there!!! Our pup actually LOVES going to their clinic and gets excited so you can see how well they treat your fur babies when they are under their care. Hands down the best clinic in the Lower Mainland!! Pricing is reasonable and not ridiculously high for a 24 hour clinic that’s always available 👍🏻
Lisa Blake: We have had nothing but wonderful experiences here with our dog.The staff is super helpful kind and go the extra mile. The vets all take great care of our dog. They are super knowledgeable and take the time to explain treatment plans and options. I also really appreciate that they check in and give great after care.
Cindy Reynolds: I brought in a lost dog and Lai, the receptionist, helped me connect with the owner. This wasn't all that easy as it took several phone calls to track the owner down. The clinic was fairly busy but Lai went out of her way to help. Many thanks!
J. H.: Reply: arh, I guess other vets don't offer hospitalization after general anesthesia like you do...Quoted me 2800 for a CT where every other specialists in metro vancouver don’t extend 1800.
Brookelynn Wood-Schatz: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueThey were able to help one of my dogs out when she hurt her knee - surgery and ultrasound done within days! Super thankful for everything you do for my dogs. They genuinely care about your animals! Super quick and efficient❤️
Samira Wagner: Since moving to Vancouver I have tried a couple different vets, and after coming to Burrard Animal Hospital + Emergency over a year ago we've never explored anywhere else. My dog has vet anxiety and they treat her with so much love and care to try to help her manage her fears! They've always been honest, clear and caring. I adore the team and appreciate all they do!
Kirsten Bowles: We went here for the first time after our dog ingested rat poison. Being first time dog owners, and thinking he was going to die we were extremely upset and concerned we would lose our boy. The staff were calm and helpful and got our dog in right away. Dr. Wong and the vet tech (I didn’t get her name, unfortunately) were so incredible. They were empathetic and kind and made us feel like our dog was in good hands. We were able to get him on medicine and he’s going to be fine thanks to their quick work. We were in and out in an hour and a half with a prognosis, treatment, medication and plans for a follow up! I see some reviews talking about cost but I think I’m an emergency situation they could have charged us much more we didn’t feel at all like they just wanted our money. We hope to make Dr. Wong our full time vet, so we will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone who is having a pet emergency!
K Cat: The staff are so kind and compassionate and they looked after my cat Moose so well. I love how they can fit you in the same day and also do routine care as well as emergency. Happy to have these guys as my vet.
Jessie D: I have had a bit of a mixed experience with this clinic as an emergency provider.Pro: they are incredibly fast. Two days in a row we attended, and the wait was 10-30 minutes, and there was no more than 1 other person in the waiting area. On those same days, VCA had a wait for 6-8 hours. They were also super prompt with my insurance, and labeled my pets ultimate “GI inflammation” as “lack of vitality”, so my deductible is easily taken care of if anything happens in the future.Cons: there is a reason they have no wait. It is known in the vet community that this clinic does not make an educated decision on which tests to run and when, they just run anything and everything. My animal had ate part of a plastic item and was experiencing pain a day later. Day 1 it was recommended that I pay almost $2k for full battery of tests - rather than “let’s start with this, and then consider a, b, c. I ultimately agreed to about $1k of tests, which did not indicate anything serious (no bowel obstruction). Medications were provided and I agreed to come back if the pet did not improve to complete the remaining tests (blood work). I came back the next day, and for some reason they thought that my pet needed a full body x ray as it could suddenly be a growth plate disorder, in order to diagnose the cause of a fever, which was new. I’m pretty sure most people know, when you have a fever, you have body aches! I ultimately agreed to the blood work and hospitalization for fluids, anti inflammatory and antibiotics. Surprise- pet was fine 24 hours later and has had zero issues in the 8 weeks since.I can appreciate that “it’s better to be safe than sorry” - however, my pet was able to recover with $2k of medical care, rather than the $5-7k it would have cost if I blindly agreed to everything. At no time was my pet so severe that there was not time to think critically. It’s not responsible as a medical professional to act this way - if you are an educated medical professional, you should know to start with “most likely” and go from there. If I got to my doctor with a fever, they don’t instantly assume I have cancer. I think the vets are smart, but that they work for an owner that creates a culture of $$$ being most important. On top of that, between day 1 and day 2, the cost of blood work increased by $100. I was not given an explanation, but my previous quote was honored. When I was concerned about them wanting to run excessive testing during the hospitalization, I asked them to send updates to my regular vet before proposing anything (something I have requested of other specialists/emerg vets - VCA - in the past as I trust my vet). They were VERY cagey about this, and given some of the reviews about medical records not matching events, I now understand why. Wouldn’t you be updating a medical chart in real time? That being said- the weekend vet accommodated my requests and pushback on the number of tests being done (despite the fact that I was probably quite rude in my frustration), they did take great care of my pet, and the Monday AM vet was very reasonable about what needed to/did not need to be done, and did not keep my pet there any longer than was absolutely necessary.Unfortunately, we’ll probably still end up here in the future solely due to the fact that despite the outrageous quotes, they are fast and do ultimately get pets better.
ARVAND ESLAMPOUR: I wish I could give 10 stars,They are really fair on price and spending time to find out the problem,They have explained everything to me to ensure I can make the best decision for my dog,I have been visited three of the doctors sofar and they were all amazing,Thanks for all your hard work!

Vancouver South Animal Hospital: what do users think?
Michelle Cidamon: The staff is amazing! Love being greeted by lil Milo as well at the front desk ☺️
Roozbeh Yousefnejad: I liked this place. Friendly receptionist, great doctor and sevice. The doctor spend almost 30 min just explaining some details about our new adopted cat. Totally recommend tgis place.
Brad McComb: Everyone was very nice, provided answers to questions, and a little humor to boot. Couldn't ask for more than that. :-)
Manpreet: Staff is really nice.
Lana B: Have been bringing my dogs here for a couple of years now. Bit disappointed that their pricing seems to have changed from last year - quite significantly. I paid $1500 last year for two dogs teeth cleaning and an extraction and this year I’m being quoted $1800-2200 for one dogs teeth cleaning and an extraction. That’s a huge difference and I’m not impressed nor can the increase be justified.Ended up paying $1100 all in at another local vet.
Wa Kei: Meabh, the receptionist has extremely poor customer service. No greetings, no thank you, no manners. I've been to this hospital many times but she provides minimal service every single time. Try asking her a question and she will cut you off and try to end the conversation asap. Great doctors, but poor service at the front.
Yara Suturina: Such kind and attentive team, always very thorough, making sure to answer all questions and ease any anxieties!
Ian Randall: I was thoroughly satisfied with the care my cat received at VSAH, but what really impressed me was the delicacy with which they handled her. They paid attention to how she was feeling, her body language, rather than just treating her as another patient. I felt like they really engaged and cared.
Margot M. D.: Very nice personnel and vet. The facility seemed clean, without odors. The vet listened to my concerns and gave advice.I was able to book online which was great.Only because it's that they are more on the expensive side.
Pam Brown: The staff at Vancouver South Animal Hospital are terrific. I have been taking my pet there for 3 years now and I am never disappointed. They take great care of my dog and provide me with lots of information so I always feel my dog is getting the best care.
Lorraine Sonney: Watch out!! Took my cat back for his 2nd vaccination for feline cancer which was to be given 4 weeks from his 1st visit. Everything was fine until I received my bill which included yet another Full Charge of an examination which he just had 4 weeks ago. So instead of charging me $45 for that 2nd vaccination from receiving 1st 4 wks previously, bill was $119!!!WHAT???!!! I was choked! Said hafta charge no matter what the visit. So I take this place as being money hungry!!! I'll never go back!! I DO NOT recommend!
Ken McNicol: The whole patient Care Team have always been so attentive, kind and thoughtful, not only towards our Dogs, but ourselves. Dr. Brian genuinely is an Animal Lover and that shows in every aspect of his examining and treating Ethan. And, of course, we love Milo!
Bryan Wong: Brian was really great and attentive to Tobiko's needs. I left the clinic feeling empowered with the knowledge I need to take better care of my 6 year old Orange Tabby Cat
Matthew Ko: Sean is amazing and the staff here is great. I trust them with my dog fully!
RAW: I brought my 3 year old dog here yesterday to check out her injured back leg. When I called, I was the typical hysterical dog owner in a panic. Melissa answered the call and talked me off the ledge haha. She took over 10 mins to ask every question about how my dogs injury happened. Not overlooking any details. When I arrived for the appointment she greeted me and welcomed me. I met Dr. Wayne and he took a decent amount of time testing everything he could to see what the injury could be.In the end, a week of meds and 6-8 weeks of rest with no walks was the recommendation. He told me what to look for in regards to “improvement” vs. “Decline”. He was confident that this injury will pass and my dog should be back to her energetic fast self in 6-8 weeks. When I left it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. Even if a lot of the stress was “in my head” , this team was so good and so professional. They clearly care about the well being of your fur-babies. I highly recommend this location.
Zoe Hodgson: Great.
Al GT4: Awesome people. Not pushy, advises honestly.
M: Super friendly, great front end staff. Easy street parking. Easy as pie to make an appointment online. Highly recommend!
Milos Kalanovic: They always take great care with our dog. Even when he's super excited to see them and can't sit still.
laflamme bernard: i called 3 weeks before to get an appointment and ask for details ,procedures and price.they haved not being honest. i ask if they can reproduce this paper with all info so my dog can fly. on the phone they said 85$+taxes. once i get there is 85$+ plus taxes plus 40$+ taxes, the clinic never told me the needed information was 2 different fees. if I knew there was extra hidden fees i would be shopping around to accommodate my budget, they are not honest they make me feel they are money grabbers just like rogers, telus and bell hidden fees. they tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door and do extra services to bill you extra because they know you need it. the way they do business is irresponsible, disrespectful. all this dishonesty makes me wonder what can happen when your pet needs serious attentionbeware is my advicethe front desk service is good and very kind but sad they need to act in hypocrisy to satisfy the boss thirst for cash.
Pablo Cuevas: NOT RECOMMEND!NOT RECOMMEND! They charged me $85 for a 2-minute exam in which they told me things that I knew (that the dog was a little overweight and that my dog was healthy)The previous year they charged me half for an exam ,about that dog was ear infection. I call the clinic asking about the prices and they tell me that a previous exam is mandatory to give the vaccine. The previous year it seems that they charged $75 and now they have increased it by 15%. No previous info not showing list of prices. Not coming back.
