The Templeton: what do users think?
Barbara Leao: I went there looking for an authentic North American breakfast. I asked for a plate with three eggs, sausage, pancakes, and toast. It was very good. The service was great, and the vintage atmosphere was a complement, especially the utensils as holders in the cabinets.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Boomer Girey: When you see a small line up outside you know the food is good. Great breakfast. Came back a 2nd time while visiting VancouverFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Cassy Gomez: Busy place, be sure to get there early or have someone save a spot for ur party. We had 6 ppl and had to split up. But food was still great. Worth the wait.Vegetarian options: My eldest daughter is vegetarian. It's usually hard to find a place to eat for all of us to eat at.But they had options for her and that was awesome.Kid-friendliness: Didn't have a kid menu but we were able to order my 7 yr old something
Stathis Dimopoulos: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Keno Leon: The place was busy so I hung by the entrance and then the lady behind the counter said seat wherever you want, they were cleaning a couple of empty booths so I said I'll take one of the booths, there were also a couple of empty bar stools and they said you can't seat on the booths if you are by yourself in a mean kinda way.I mean next time lead with that or put a sign, one of my few bad interactions in Vancouver, walked a few blocks and sat on a booth in a different dinner and ate breakfast withouth being profiled by a waitress like some criminal.
Josh Malinoski: Great breakfast food. Better drink options would entice us more. We loved the Turkey sandwhich and the French toast with blurberry compote. This popular spot has the retro diner feel.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More
Pooneh Ashja: Basic breakfast and service.
Regina Haldemann: klassisches cooles Dinner. genau wie es sein soll.

Samalee Matuszak: Save your money
NOS GUITAR: Merely OK. Food is Dennys level. Small place, had a line up. Which doesnt mean anything in Vancouver. They love to lineup for everything. Especially if they think something is chic. This place is kinda cool in its diner ambience but its "SHABBY" chic. Nothing really matches, booths are worn thru all over, not terribly clean. The jukeboxes everyone is going on about were out of order and that sign didnt look new. I suppose if you are 25 and a hipster you would call this a classic diner. If you are old enough to know a classic diner, you might relabel this one a hipster dive. It was OK.
Heike: I love this place. Great food. The best milkshakes ever! They also have movies on a large screen some nightsVegetarian options: Veggie omlettesWheelchair accessibility: They are right on granville street so it's accessible
Z M: Been here for years, this time found a piece of who knows what was in my pancake. Way overcrowded and they stuff people in there even though the darn bar was already full. Never going here again! Did not even deserve my $2 tip but I believe in good karma . Too bad but I am no longer a customer and a mere 15% discount does not cut it sorry!
Denise Leinen: Excellent food and cool laid back diner atmosphere. Pancakes are great as well as rosemary potatoes and classic eggs Benny!
Elow: Amazing breakfast
Matthew Lenner: Cute and tiny diner offering excellent food. Not the cheapest, but fast and delicious.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Bon's Off Broadway: what do users think?
Michael Frymus: Damn that was disappointing. The service was... Well, there was none. After sitting for 6 minutes, a waitress walked by and said she'll be right back. Just over a minute later she did come back with the menu. A few moments later she took my order and left right away in a rush again. My food was delivered by another person working there, but didn't ask if I needed anything else or anything, just dropped it off and left. I never saw my waitress since she took my order. I ate my food, which was... Okay I guess. Nothing special. The French Toast was pretty sad to be honest. I didn't like it. And then I sat there for a few minutes after, maybe she'd come back? Nope. Probably the worst "service" I've gotten. I thought this would be a cool place to go to because it was also a decently cheap meal, different vibe, but not worth it. Food okay, but the service was not there.

The Basic: what do users think?
Dario Pavlovic: Very basic indeed. The food had no taste at all. It’s still cheaper than most other brunch places around here, but for a reason.
Bhaskar Chandra: Service was good. Food was mediocre . I got 2 scrambled eggs and potatoes with toast . Not something I would order again .

Gregg Taylor: Great breakfast diner. I give it 5 stars for what it is - a great neighbourhood diner with all your basic diner breakfast and food options, served quickly in a usually bustling evnvironment. It’s not fancy, or fine dining. I had the tofu/egg scramble on this visit - it was big, freshly cooked, with fresh veggies and cooked just right (not dried out). If you want a trusty breakfast experience, you his is a good option.

Marty: smaller place that the locals go to. great service , well trained staff, good quality food.
Ligia Augusto: It's basic. The pancakes and basic breakfast is fine, but everything else is very underwhelming for the price. Benny was small, looked like a frozen English muffin with sause all over. OK for something I make at home, but not worth 17$

da te: Nice people, very attentive, seem honest. Very small spot, slightly uncomfortable. Self serve coffee and tea. Sadly, could be better food. Its too bad mostly microwaved, assuming the waffles are (you can hear it going off a lot). I don't see why they cant be made fresh? Name like Just waffles, I would like them cooked fresh, they don't take long. Seems like there kitchen might not be well equipped? Is there an oven even back there? Had the eggs benny with chicken and asparagus. I was thrown off by the sweetness, they said they do herb and garlic for the pizza ones. Don't understand why they don't for the savory Benny's? Too dense and thick, no crisp. Eggs cant be poched soft, too bad. Asparagus and chicken had salt and cooked well. But should use thighs for more flavor and seasonings. Over all for 22 bux a pop I felt this was not really worth the money or stop. pretty basic food. Also for a table of 5 the seating was poorly arranged. Anyways, Cheers
Gregg Taylor: Cute and comfortable cafe serving the most delicious waffles! Evelyn's Cafe & Bistro: what do users think?
Alissa Kinnis: Rude staff, they don’t clean their tables and the food takes an incredibly long time (more than 30 mins) for food that should be very quick (we only ordered eggs)
Kate Wilson: Is this place a ghost of the 90’s? Yes. Would I change it for anything? Nope. It’s like stepping back in time, wood paneling and all. Feels like childhood. The food is yummy, home cooked and very affordable. An older couple runs the place and they are just the sweetest. A tiny hole in the wall, hidden gem of a local joint. Don’t expect anything fancy, but make yourself at home.

Very means! i were there at 9:06. Then I went to washroom and wait 5mins. And then I ask them “ sorry how long for my order “ at 9:16. They start yelling and say skip the order and get out of here ! I feel very bad. They gave me the order at 9:22. The order has been late 16mins. Why I cannot ask them how long for the order ?? And they were so means on it !
Stephanie Liu ay u: Only U is a great place in UBC. The food and staff are amazing. Their Benedict, pav bhaji and aloo puri are definitely a must try. Highly recommend this cafe!
rakesh shukla: Awesome chole puri ..rajma chawal and a huge variety of indian food.puri made here is having minimal oil..u feel as if they have not used oil..quite a healthy food...owner Awaan Sir is a great Human being..he offered free illaichi tea to us..this place is a heaven here for the students and also visiting parents like us..request to keep it open till evening, if possible 😀
Dana Sullivan: Five years living at UBC and I have been sleeping on this place. Finally stopped in to try their Indian food for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. I had the Kadhi Onion Pakora Chawal and it was so good. Nothing too fancy, but just excellent Indian comfort food. I’m not in a place to say whether Indian food is “authentic” or not, but this was not the relatively bland take on Indian food that you might expect from this unassuming brunch place, it was pleasantly rich. And the paratha was so soft and flaky! The portion was also very filling, so good value for your money. I like that the Indian section of the menu has so many (vegetarian) breakfast dishes that most Indian lunch/dinner restaurants don’t serve. I’m kind of curious about the Western brunch menu too, but will definitely be back to try more of the Indian food if nothing else.I had a Piña Colada smoothie too. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really do anything for me. They called this a “fruit smoothie” but it was so sweet and tasted closer to a flavoured slush to me. I'd skip the smoothie next time since the main meal was enough. The atmosphere is totally bare-bones, it’s not sketchy or anything, there’s just absolutely no ambiance to speak of. The staff was nice enough though, especially the person taking orders at the front. It’s not a hip brunch place at all, but a great place for some no-fuss good eats. Although I can’t speak for the Western brunch stuff, I can definitely recommend you check them out for the Indian dishes if you live around UBC.
Amber Swaan: The staff was fantastic, food was amazing and they have a better matcha latte then Starbucks!I had eggs Bennie with bacon and avocado. I prefer hard poached, and got exactly what I asked for.Parking: Street parking or underground parking.

Pricing could be a little bit lower about 13 to $15 a plate. I think under 10 would be better
Anushree Shah: My absolute favourite place to eat at UBC. I started eating here when I lived on campus since it was so close. Over time, I realized the owners had a secret Indian menu and it was so good, it reminded me of home. Even though I don't live at UBC anymore, I still come here on occasion to satisfy a craving. The staff is kind and friendly and always helps me pick the best dish 😊. And it helps that the pricing is student friendly!Highly recommend all the vegetarian options on their menu!

Bad smell of actually burnt oil, and nobody cared to clean or organize inside. I would never suggest this place for its bad quality of food and the worst service I have ever received, and believe me; you would get regret it if try even a simple breakfast!
Mika: Super cute place with really good food with a huge array of options. The Indian food is also well made
Aranie S: Great food--they customized my breakfast sandwich the way I wanted and made the eggs spicy (it was delicious!) Friendly employees, very clean and overall one of the best brunch places I've been to
Sahithya Ravi: The quality of Indian food is very very poor (pav bhaji and puri chole)! The ingredients used seem to be of low quality for a cost of 15$ a plate!

Cafe Deux Soleils: what do users think?
Jesus Rodriguez: Primera vez que visito este lugar y sin duda alguna regresare, precios muy accesibles y tiene un concepto medio raro pero bien el lugar.
Em-Z: Lovely vibe. Cozy and friendly. Good price for tea and sweets 😎
June Thea: Dietary restrictions: gluten-free options available
Valerie Goodwin: An incredible community locus, with extremely good food and even better vibes.
Eric Nelson: Yummy and reasonably priced vegan breakfast, great people watching outside seating
Britt Goldenberg: Disgusting. Greasy and gross.
Lauren Toyota: Kind of disappointing if you’re vegan. The tofu scramble is NOT like breakfast but like eating an Asian stir fry at dinner. Not good coffee. Staff is not friendly. Place feels kind of dirty.
A C: Good meal for the price. Ordered The Jemlette. Not disappointed, but not wowed. Something I could have cooked myself, but nice to let someone else make my food! Kinda dark in here and no a/c. A real minimalist approach here, as in you go up to the counter to order your food and you clear your dishes when you're done.
Robert Monroe: Lacklustre, overpriced, flavourless food served by an utterly unenthusiastic staff who clearly hate their jobs. How this "veteran" of Commercial Dr. has survived into the year 2022, I'll never know.
Zaid Gallo: The best pancakes I’ve ever had. The best pancakes I’ve ever had. The best pancakes I’ve ever had. Saying it 3 times for impact 💥 Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious! Seriously, a lovely place to start your day. Our waiter Curran(?) was very kind and helpful.
Caroline Therrien: one of my favourite places for breakfast, I love the eggs they serve that have garlic/basil/tomato/cheese. Perfect amount of food and their toast is always really tasty too
Ara Wilmot: This place has gone so far downhill. I went for lunch, paid $16 for a veggie burger and side salad... ok. I ask the server if I could have water and she points to a room temperature jug sitting on the counter (it was 35 degrees today). I ask for cold water and she says "there's a tap in the bathroom you can use I guess." Excuse me? There was a sink right next to her...The burger wasn't even good, the salad was not fresh and the greens were slimy and had obviously gone off. Unbelievable.
R Casama: Each visit has been a great experience here. Food is good price for portion and quality, service is quick, and the place is clean. The jemlette is my favourite. This is a great breakfast/brunch spot offering vegetarian and vegan meals
Benjamin Harris: I love this Cafe! ❤️ It has been a staple of the East Van/Commercial drive community for a long time. Delicious, plant based meals, beer, treats and live music. The hummus burger is amazing, it is one of my favorites. Take your order to go and sit in a nearby park to enjoy! Or stay and people watch on "The Drive".
Quinn Thomas: Classic. Flames.
Nicole Chacon: Pretty great and cheap option for breakfast! The plate is really filling and yummy. Great vegetarian breakfast place with vegan options too.
Katie Stevenson: Such a cute, soulful spot. So cozy. The food was good. Nice place for a date or an afternoon of reading with a tea.
Marie Watson: Relaxed. family friendly. Blackboard menu says it all. Very tasty fresh cooked food.
Karen Harris: Enjoyed a brunch with a few friends there today. The food was pretty tasty, but they don't have free refills on regular coffee like most cafes do, so that's why I took away one star.
Heather M: Such a disappointment. We were excited to eat a vegetarian breakfast at this cool-looking restaurant. After sipping on a divine latte, we were expecting the same from the food. Instead the Veggies & Hash and Huevos Angerous were bland, rather watery. The food looked great but I'd rather eat for flavour. Fab latte!

Marulilu Café: what do users think?
Carrie Chan: I visited this unique Japanese restaurant for a few times but this was my first time having breakfast there. I ordered breakfast wrap with curry sauce. The curry sauce was blended so well with the mash potatoes and I just love it. My friend ordered a full combo set, with omelette, with tofu, miso soup and some rice, what a healthy meal to kick off the day. As a friendly reminder, Marulilu Cafe is just across Broadway - City Hall Canada Line station, it’s better to take public transit to get there .
Amy: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
Jessie Shen: I ordered a curry omurice for lunch and it was served within minutes. Delicious, but probably also easily replicated at home as the curry tastes exactly like the $4-5 boxed curry cubes you can buy from T&T. Cute little family style cafe. Water is self serve and you order and pay before you eat.Recommended dishes Omu Curry Rice …More
stephen milton: Great value for nice simple, well-made food
Zihan Yuan: This restaurant almost killed me! There was an iron uline stick staple hiding inside the rice And scratched my mouth!! I called the restaurant, and their attitude was so bad!!They said they can not do anything with it!! Can not believe it!!! I don't want to be mean, but their manner makes me wanna report this to Vancouver Coastal Health!!!

GEoff Budinski: Japanese style breakfast!! So good. fast clean and so delicious.Recommended dishes Omu-Hayashi Rice, Japanese Style Breakfast – All on It …More
Tyler F.: This is my go-to spot for Japanese comfort food. As a half-Japanese girl who grew up in Japan for the first 18 years of my life - this place hits the cravings I need when I miss authentic Japanese food. I always get either the Omu-Hayashi Rice (pictured below) OR the Omu Curry Rice (get it with Katsu , it’s gooooood) because it’s so freaking good! Marulilu is also cheap and affordable (you’ll always spend under $27 !) Their coffees (I got the iced caramel macchiato today) are EXCELLENT. Their takoyaki is steaming hot and yummy as well! Highly highly recommend - support this local business !
Ry: Good place for omurice. I had the basic omurice with ketchup rice and the egg was nice and fluffy. I would come back to try their other items. Service was friendly.
Karen: Delicious food and drink. I always crave their waffles and Katsu sandwiches.
Jessica: Super disappointed with this place due to their poor customer service and definitely not worth the wait at all. I recommend going across the street to eat at Saku or Santouka if you want Japanese food as they have much better service that will make you feel welcome and display actual Japanese hospitality.
Ka Hing Cheung: Small enjoyable place, nice food, could get busy.Seems authentic.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Muling Peng: More than 10 years come back, still excellent and delicious. Japanese food family style
Alicia: I think this is my number 1 favourite restaurant in Vancouver. The food is just exceptional. If you've heard of the famous Saku, dare I say that Marulilu's curry rice surpasses Saku (although Saku does have amazing cutlets). The omurice with curry and karaage is my top choice! If you want a bit extra, switch to garlic rice and it is sooo amazing. I come here several times a month now and always order this item. Their matcha latte and caramel macchiato is also amazing, reasonably priced, and better than Starbucks. The dining area is small inside but service is really fast. My food comes so quickly I'm never disappointed.Only thing I would say that can be improved on is that it is boiling inside!! I want to say 26C or something. Very hot with the heater blasting.
Estairia Hong: My first time having a Japanese breakfast meal but it wasn’t anything I hadn’t had before so didn’t feel like a new experience to me. Having the packaged natto and seaweed wasn’t that appealing presentation wise. The soup was fantastic very flavourful! Staff was friendly. It was pretty hot temperature wise to be in the restaurant and felt cramped. The match vanilla latte was great as well!!
Isaac L: Small shop with a lot of different curry options. You should definitely try the Naruto here !Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Lorraine Yang: My boyfriend and I used to love this spot and have always supported their business. However after my experience on Feb 26, I will not be returning anymore.I visited the location a bit past noon on Feb 26 with my boyfriend for brunch, I went up to the cashier and ordered my meal and a drink specifically saying the details - regular, hojicha latte with oat milk, the cashier told me :"oh thank you, you told me everything I was going to ask". Then the cashier went to make my drink. When my latte arrived, I took a sip and immediately felt that the milk they used was regular milk, I took a few more sips and asked my boyfriend to confirm. I am lactose intolerant so I had to order the oat milk substitution. I waved and asked a server to come by to confirm what milk they used, server went to the back and confirmed that it was regular milk and said I did not indicate I wanted oat milk. I told her that I definitely told the cashier it was oat milk and I am allergic to regular milk so I cannot drink it. She took the drink away and said they will make me a new one and asked me to go pay $0.75 at the cash for the oat milk surcharge, she asked if I can pay in cash or not and I said I do not have cash on me, unwillingly to use the credit card machine. They remade the drink but at that point I was already almost done my lunch and I asked my boyfriend to help me get a paper cup so I can take my drink to go. He went up and they also asked him if he had cash, he said no and instead of $0.50 cup fee they charged him $1.00 indicating that it was the lowest fee they can put on the machine. This experience truly made me feel that all this place care about is themselves. As a consumer I do understand that there is inflation and fees associated with operating a business but I do not understand why you have to go above and beyond for every single penny...When a customer indicated that the order was wrong, this business automatically assumed that the customer was at fault, even after learning about a dietary restriction, still asked the customer to pay for oat milk. When it was already made aware of the incident, not being understanding about why the customer needed a to go cup and then having the audacity to surcharge 2 times for a paper cup because the customer has no cash?We left as we did not want to be there longer to explain as honestly we do not need the extra $0.50 but it is just a horrible experience for a place that we used to support.Dietary restrictions: Not understanding
Pei Lee: If you're looking for authentic Japanese breakfast and omurice with beef then this is the perfect place for you. We miss Japan so much and this is as close as we will get.Kid-friendliness: There was high chair available
William “Billy” D: The Omu Curry rice was amazing, and very filling. Had a maple latte too, and it was better than any latte I've ever had. Great meal for under $20. I dont know how a small place like this can do everything so well, and stay affordable, but they do. They deserve more recognitionFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Curry Omurice with Tonkatsu …More
