Rob Drury: Friendly staff, warm welcome, a really gorgeous bar and theatre space! Lovely to visit the island on our visit to grab a bite and a couple drinks before a show, made for a lovely evening.
Chantale Lee: Very well rehearsed plays … interesting topics well presented
Vincent Wong: Great show.
Peter Gordon: Great performance hall for the Vancouver live theater scene.
Ailysh Greenway: Saw The Cull...so good! The bartender and usher were so friendly and helpful as well
Anthony Wong: Great intimate venue that is perfect for presenting some of Arts Club's smaller productions. The staging is impressive and the seating arrangement gives everyone a good seat. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The lounge is a great place to grab a drink before the show and during intermission!
Travis Albers: Going here felt like a fever dream. I enjoyed it (I think?). To be honest I can't believe this made it to production but it was pretty good I guess. It makes sense they sell alcohol because attending sober was an.... Experience. Would recommend you try it.... I guess.
Sue Sparlin: We saw "Mom's the Word: Talking Turkey". I was able to use the accessible parking spot right in front of the theatre. Staff were helpful. The show had moments of uproarious laughter, tender reflection, bawdy jokes, and relatable tales of Christmas or Samain. After the show we walked a block to The Keg for dinner. An altogether enjoyable experience.
Rhoda Taylor: We went to Mom's the Word, talkin turkey and had a wonderful time. The staff were great and the space was perfect for this kind of performance. Of course the location on Granville Island can't be beat. We had a great dinner after our show and got some shopping done
Duke D: Great Christmas show, a lot if fun, easy to get to, intimate theater, not a bad-seat in the house!
Jay Young: Saw an amazing show last night, one of those ones that is poinient but also very funny. There were several kinds of funny as well, from completely outrageous to clever song lyrics to being funny just because it's so close to real life and you know that's exactly how things are!! The show was Mom's The Word - Talking Turkey. I don't usually do much for Christmas and I never do Christmas this early but that was part of this show too and part of the fun. Excellent show, definitely worth the visit.
Tessa Adrienne: There are no bad seats in the theater. Enjoyed Made in Italy this weekend and absolutely loved it. Will be back for more performances in the future
Brenda G.: Quality of plays is excellent. Very entertaining, well acted sound and lighting banh on. The Theatre itsellf nothing fancy except the location on Granville Island. The lobby is new and ground level. But the theatre and bar/concession are not. No elevator to to 2nd floor bar/concession. No handrails inside theatre to get past 1st row. No seperate disability washroom. The 1 disabled stall in regular washroom is very hard to access down narrow hall, behind sinks.. You will get stuck inside waiting for everyone to finish at sinks/mirrors. The ushers however are excellent and will physically help you up the stairs to your seat and store any mobility devices for you. They also accomodate late comers. If able bodied they seat you "at the back" which means a staircase to the 2nd floor. If not able to do stairs they slip you in stage level by the door then assist you to your assigned seats after intermission. They'll even give you a synopsis of what you missed. Hats off to the ushers!
Cory Couture: We went to see the matinee performance of "Made in Italy yesterday. I was so impressed. Daniel Curalli was spectacular. I haven't enjoyed a performance like they ever. It's a one man show. How he jumped from character to character was incredible. I laughed so much plus it was also moving and choked me up too. It was written so well. Definitely check it out. You will not be disappointed. Daniel Curalli is an amazing talent.
Nigel Kellett: Efficient , great small theatre space. (I'm guessing seats about 300 ish) bar service very reasonable and seating comfortable.
Ben Inglis: Great live theatre, every seat is good. Just saw Made In Italy, highly recommend it.
Robert Suranyi: Trying to find parking on a Saturday afternoon for a show is very stressful. It is much better to use public transit and avoid all the traffic at Granville Island.
Robert Fawcett: Went to see Made in Italy last Thursday night. Great one man show. Lots of laughsStaff were available to assist with questions. Try and see it before it goes,!
Jennifer Gardner: The front of house worker was SO KIND to me today. I have my 92 year old mom visiting and I bought tickets for us to see Made in Italy for March 27th. Somehow, I made a big mistake and booked tickets for the 20th! The woman dealing with me was so understanding, and so empathetic. She found tickets for us to attend on the 27th. I am so grateful !
Muff Hackett: We have always felt that Arts Club shows are great value - the staff are incredibly helpful and we always come away with something to talk about.
Natasha G. Laine: The creativity and professionalism of the staff here is great. I only wish it was easier to find parking here.

Kristin Darguzas: I registered my 7 year old daughter in a Lights Up summer camp and she absolutely loved it. The teachers were creative and engaging and the content was excellent. She did the camp with a friend and diligently practiced her songs and lines every day. for the performance, which teachers captured via video for parents due to COVID. I'll definitely be registering her again next year.
John Lucey: High quality theatre training for children and teenagers across Vancouver. Highly recommended and consistent results over many years.
Donna Dobo: Students at Lights Up are so excited about their musical theatre training. I've heard nothing but good things. And it's such a healthy activity for children's minds and bodies, building confidence and having fun. I highly recommend it.
Some Guy: Good

Jennifer H: Awesome show,fabulous theatre
Charlott-Isabell Witt: I went to the “Georgia McBride” Performance. And it was awesome, such nice performance and actors.Loved it !!
Fern Abercromby: loved the performance The Legend of Georgia McBride, highly recommend it!
Bay Hollander: All I can say is it was absolutely amazing!
Will Anderson: What a lovely theatre!
Marilyn Massoud: Great shows/actors
Abby Nicole: I saw The Legend of Georgia McBride and it was AMAZING! Clearly a good set up for lights & audio. Everywhere is a good seat & seats are comfy.
Kent B: Honestly i would have to say one of the best theatre experiences i have had
B. Smith: Most productions rate 8 or 9 out of 10. once every couple years, something jumps up to 9.5 or 10. Solid.
Mary Pat Thompson: Lovely vintage theatre.
Eddie W: I've been to this venue many times now. Beautiful old theatre. All staff that I've ever dealt with in person or over the phone have been great. The seats are comfortable. Lots of leg room for the average person. There is enough of an angle on the rows and scattering of seats from row to row, at least in the orchestra section that if an average size person sat in front of your view, is still good. I'm not sure what seating in the balcony is like.
Sandrine Ribaille: The seats were quite uncomfortable for someone tall.
Heather Main: Attended a performance of "Sense and Sensibility" on a Sunday afternoon. There was a mix up at the box office (my friend had accidentally booked the wrong day), Glenda (I think) managed to sort it out, she was very helpful and friendly. The show was lovely, beautiful set, beautiful costumes, and extremely well acted and directed. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Dan Davies: An elegant experience in a beautiful venue! We have seen several productions here and it was great to be back.Few people were wearing masks and distancing is not possible.
Emylee Todd: Stunning theater, in the art deco style. We sat off to the side but still had a good view of the stage, so I'd bet that most of the seats had a good view. The production of sense and sensibility was excellent, the dialog was easily heard even in the quieter moments of the play. All in all a great venue for any play you'd want to see!
hui huang: We're a season subscriber and throughly enjoy our show every time we go
nick hadfield: Beautiful theatre! Seats were nice and close to the stage.
Jacqueline Jongkind: Always amazing venue and performances
Cassandra Anderton: Great venue for the performing arts. The Arts Club Theatre utilizes this stage and their shows are extremely well executed. Check the yearly line up and book ahead! Some great places to grab a drink and a bite, try the Stablehouse or Impostori.
Sarah HANNOU: I went for 3 shows and they were all different and great! If you like plays and musicals, I recommend you check out this theater.

Will L.: Shows are nice, all sorts. But the venue, can you upgrade the chairs?
marwa salem: Was amazing show! Nice place
Nigel Plumley: This concert was one of the most beautiful I have been to. Benjamin Appl,is without peer in the lieder world of music . The Playhouse is the perfect auditorium,no matter where you sit the sound is perfect.
Anderson Mazuchelli: Mid size theater with awesome focus on local performances.Rise was an amazing presentation from the Vancouver comunity!
Peter S: I saw Rise here yesterday. I Love the ART, set design, music, lights, characters where all great. But for me the show was tainted by the opening monologue welcoming everyone to the location as "stolen" land and referring to Canada as "So called Canada". I came for the art, not to hear your geo-political opinions. I get the recognition of unseeded native lands but that is all that needs to be said. The lingering effect of hearing anything else in that forum prevents one from fully opening to the experience and idea's expressed in the show. Wondering the entire time if the intention of the symbolism is to hustle the views expressed in the intro.
maryam Mohammadi: Every thing is good 👏👏
nieves garcía: Muy cómodo, una buena obra
Garnet Ryder (VE7GNR): Great theatre, but the seats are very tight together. It's a great venue.
Rick One: Just notice that the air vents are so dirty. Not to sure if the air quality is being well take of.
Mauro Varas B: Love this place I have been here twice. venue with lots of seating, nice stage, good sound. You can purchase drinks and snacks and find washrooms :)
M G: Great shows and nice place for stand up in Vancouver
Alexander Brunner: Such a great venue! The shows are top quality and it’s a very intimate space.
Tarek Riman: Amazing spot. Great service. Always great shows.
Sky Agent: Great venue, every seat has a good view of the stage.(Tip for shows aim for seats about 3 rows from the front for a better view)
Peter Gordon: A great venue for theatre. See a show here soon!
Elina Kuznetsova: Great and cozy place to visit some performance or theatre show!
Nandini Bhatia: great!
Pablo Zayas: A perfectly size stage. No seat is too far or obstructed. I visited for a modern dance performance that took my breath away at moments. Great location for intimate performances with friendly staff.
L. Li: I attended a concert here with friends! The place is nice and inside temp is well controlled. It’s wheelchair accessible as well!
Sophie N: I love this theater because it's small enough to feel the energy on stage. I took 2 stars off because of the seats that are not comfortable and don't look clean at all.
Paul Stacey: Great theatre. I'm part of the Vancouver Men's Chorus and we love performing at the Vancouver Playhouse

Noah O: Wonderful theater, full of wonderful people, that put on, you guessed it, wonderful shows! Find something your speed or go see something new!
KJ P: Good atmosphere and nice, cozy viewing (even near the back). Chairs became a bit uncomfortable after a while, and the triangle rail guards was also uncomfortable to lean on.

Vesna B.: It's one of the best theatres in Vancouver and it shows very diverse performers and performances.
Jen S: Have been to the Cultch twice now for the Cave & Little Willy and seen 2 Cultch offerings at the Playhouse (Sacre & Animal), I have to say that not only is the Historic Theatre a great venue but calibre of shows provided is far beyond what I’d expect of a theatre of its size. Always unexpectedly good, we’ve never seen a show worth less than 4/5 and we a quickly becoming regulars!
CM S: Gorgeous space. No bad seats, totally charming. Concession with drinks AND swag. Great location near lots of bars and restaurants
Heinstrung: Rope Access Solutions Chris Heine: Get geeky and East Van vibes. Head here for great plays
denny bilac: clean theatre with gteat staff
Jason Lee: Came here to watch Bad Parent. Great play and great venue. Very intimate. Wish they could fix the squeaking chairs though as it affected the play a bit.
Tom Chin: An incredibly intimate, fabulous venue for theatre or music! How do you beat the built-in acoustics or theatrical ambiance of an old converted church?Add great staff, a great program/gallery supporting local artists, a great adult refreshment bar and you have a complete entertainment package for the night! The Cultch has had a longtime unparalleled history of eclectic, well-produced shows ranging from Dave Von Ronk to episodes of Fawlty Towers to an outstanding premiere of Clean/Espejos, and the current Bad Parents. Kudos to Cultch for a dazzling array of shows reflecting the diversity of Vancouver and for validating the belief that equal expression of all cultures enriches us all!
Jeremy Arbuthnot: They always have interesting shows and art on the walls. They have drink specials most nights for 30 minutes after the doors open. Fantastic new all gender bathrooms!

brian: one of the older vancouver civic theatres used for concerts, movie sets, and other events. it's the home of the vancouver symphony orchestra.built in 1927 it's nearly 100 years old. was going to be gutted and redeveloped as a multiplex cinema under ownership of famous players in 1974 but was saved through public protest and fundraising. the city of vancouver purchased the orpheum for $7.1 million ($3.1 from cov, $1.5 from provincial/federal governments). it was renovated soon after and has maintained it's current aesthetic for over 50 years.
Victam Tamato: The place is nice but the block it's on is pretty rough and the speaker was stuttery.
Jonas Vlasenko: Love this intimate historic venue!Great place to take in a comedy act or live performance!
Jonathan Brower: Super intimate concert/performance venue. One of the best places to see artists you love at close proximity. Gorgeous inside as well. Floors in aisles are old and the cement work from chair base to floor between the seats is slanted and narrow, so legroom can feel a bit cramped, but otherwise love this place.
WILLIAM REN: The Orpheum is a famous theater in Vancouver of British Columbia with a history of 96 years. It started out as a vaudeville hall, later became a movie theater, and became the main venue for the Vancouver Symphony in 1977, with occasional cross talk or other performancesTonight, American opera tenor Gregory Kunde soaring high notes here, nearly seventy years old, in full swing. The performance of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is great. The most impressive thing for me is the sound of the Harp. Although it is only a harmonic accompaniment, the performer is extremely performative, with a soft and tender voice, full of poetry, and the lingering sound lingers in my mind.I haven't been to the theater for many years, I didn't expect to sit quietly for two hours enjoy the audio-visual feast
Gary Mussatto: Exciting to watch my son in law with the Vancouver Opera share the stage with world renowned Tenor Gregory Kunde!
Ryan Dery: Incredible venue! Will visit again.
Stephen Franklin: Performing here is always a blast! The walls are frought with history and the upholstery is jaw-dropping. While it is not the best acoustic I have ever played in, I have little to complain about. If you're ever in the area I highly recommend going to see any performance here. The crew are stellar and can put on a good show for any show (be that rock, pop or orchestral; you name it!).The lobby is gorgeous and many people will simply spend their time wandering around capturing the sights.P.S. The grand pipe organ (named "the orpheus" appropriately) fills the room in an otherworldly fashion. Truly a riveting experience if you get lucky enough to hear it.
Anastasia Polianska: beautiful place, well organized but very $$$snacks and drink at intermission. I understand they are children friendlyhave stroller parking. lol but they need to educate parents about great thing for kinds. not well advised I didn't know either husband found out accidentally wandering theater with noisy baby
Angel Liu: love the sound in this venue!
Cody Ouellette: BEAUTIFUL VENUE. But. Had seats in the nosebleeds and the slope of the balcony isn't steep enough for you to see the stage. Standing ON the seat still wasn't enough for my wife to see the stage.Something to keep in mind.
Phil L.: Love this place. Great sound and ambience!
Neale Adams: Great concert by Vancouver Symphony, resident orchestra
Mark Gray: I love this place!❤️
Hiba Morcos: Amazing place, one of my favourite places in Vancouver. Gorgeous space, always great performances.
Brian DeGeer: Great night watching West Side Story while the VSO played the soundtrack live. Truly memorable.
