Maddock Rosie: It’s been great to discover this wonderful emporium of West Coast creativity, offering a broad range of work, and a city venue for supporting and building the arts community in Vancouver. Collage Collage: what do users think?
Cecilia Mok: A wonderful children's bookstore and arts & craft store! Very family friendly. Also enjoy the decorative prints available for sale.
Caroline D Boquist: Full disclosure, Erin is a friend, but this is a treasure for kids and adults alike! If you’re looking for thoughtful gifts for kids, this is the place.
Natalja Robertsdottir: I cannot speak well enough of the service provided by this place. I live in Ontario and was sourcing an item from Collage Collage to use as a prop for a commercial my Media company is producing. I had a very specific timeline and paid extra for expedited shipping so that I would get the item in time. Long story short, this did not go as expected and after having tracking shown to be on schedule it changed last minute to show much later delivery date that was going to put a serious monkey wrench in planning props for the commercial. I reached out to Collage Collage about this and was treated so incredibly well by Erin who did everything in her power to try to fix this. It was obviously a Canada Post issue. Regardless, Erin went above and beyond in her customer service. She went personally to inquire about this at the Post Office and kept me well informed about that through email. She also refunded me the shipping cost even though I didn't ask for it. As well she went to the lengths to try to search for places in Ontario that might have the same item for me to have as backup. Thankfully, in the end I did get the item from Canada post only few days after it was supposed to and it was clear that there was a glitch in their tracking system showing much later dates. This was a very stressful process but what stands out is the exemplary attitude and willingness to show care for your customer in deed. I applaud Erin and her business for being so top notch and I 100% recommend them as a supplier of crafts or services offered if you want fantastic customer service.
Liz Wong: Cute arts and crafts/book shop. We love their stickers and quirky toys. Love browsing here and always end up picking something up!
Adele Tetangco: One of my most fave kid's stores.
Deborah Aiko Insook Kim: I love this adorable shop. They have a rule for COVID-19 as limited 4 people inside. We waited and look around for 5min. There are lots of things and make us smile. My daughter wanted to get many things and got a small dinosaur. For me colour pencils. But the price is bit higher. Maybe staples is better place if you are not obsessed in cuteness.
Kathrin Kilburn: Lovely little store with a great selection of art supplies, books, gifts, toys, decorations etc. Did most of my stocking stuffers shopping here and had great service (online order to pickup). Highly recommend!
Stanley Lau: A variety of art activities guaranteed to keep your toddler and/or child occupied for an hour or two. Your kids can sign up for regular lessons, or just drop-in; fees vary. Staff are nice, and the facilities are bright, colorful and engaging, albeit a bit small. Retail sales of art, supplies, toys and gifts are available.
Allison Rosengarten: My kids live this place! Beautifully curated products, knowledgeable staff and friendly service. All in a super cute space!
Phil W: This place is my go-to for thoughtful, fun, creative gifts for the little ones in my life. Great shop.
Sam Moth: If your child hasn’t been to the Emily Carr Institute for Arts in Vancouver, BC, Canada, -THEY WON’T CARE about you. All the reviews you are seeing here are FAKE REVIEWS. I can’t believe my review was even printed here! I went in there 3 weeks ago with my 8 year old niece, but we didn’t look “rich”, “wealthy”, so they gave use the cheaper lesser refined art quality “paint” and paper than what they gave the more “refined” looking folks. Bottom line is, if you don’t look higher up in prosperity than them, then don’t bother, Jesus Christ.
Diana L.: This place is so sweet and fun! I love the vibe here. Take a class or stay a while and get some good ideas. It’s a bit hard to find parking but it’s mostly pay parking.Very central and on Main Street. I haven’t taken a class yet, but will so in the future!
Cathy Matusicky: This shop is so inspiring, from the minute you walk in the door. So many beautifully-curated gifts and books and a long list of amazing classes and workshops. The staff are so helpful and knowledgable and my family and I always feel at home there. So happy Vancouver has this special spot!
lizzy karp: For years Collage Collage has been my go to for the most inspiring books and gifts for all the kids (and grown up kids) in my life. I worked with their amazing staff to create multiple DIY projects for my wedding too- that people still ask about! It's a must visit when visiting Vancouver or the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
Grace Partridge: The most charming shop in the heart of Mount Pleasant. Original, cool and creative programming led by a friendly and outrageously talented staff. The selection of toys, books, art and art supplies make it THE BEST place to buy a gift for the kiddos and creatives in your life.
Tammy Lawrence: We love Collage Collage! We have been going here since my kids were little and it first opened. Love the new location on Main Street where there is a separate classroom for classes. The shop has great gift ideas, books and art supplies. Hard to leave without a pom pom, paint set or tiny animal. Great staff and you can tell they make such thoughtful choices when ordering. My 8 year old recently completed the Writing & Illustration class and he loved it. He was especially happy to have his story printed and bound into a "published" book.
Kevin Jenkins: This place is ridiculously small and the hosts were extremely rude. I'm a single dad and thought that the high prices would be worth it, but I'm here to tell you it's not. Don't even bother! I'll be instead going to 4Cats Studio up the street where my child will have more room to roam and play, with better value. Highly unrecommended.
Neil Diguangco: Hidden gem of a place. Great place for kids classes
Josh Loewen: A really neat place to bring your little one. My 2.5 year old enjoys it. The space is a tiny bit awkward.

Claytek Studios Inc: what do users think?
Jenny Jones: Checked the website - it said 10am openingWalked for over 45 minutes from downtown to get there - waited for it to openWent it just after 10 and asked if I could buy some items from the shop to be told no because she is running a class - it is literally 3 steps from where she was standing - she said come back at 1pm - I explained I couldn’t as I was flying back to Australia - I had bought a few things a week ago and wanted to quickly get some othersShe said no - come back at 1I will never go back! And whoever this “she” was is rude, unprofessional, inflexible and should update the website with accurate information
Jonah Letovsky: Quite inflexible policies unfortunately and not great consumer service. Make sure you 100% want what you purchase from them because they offer no flexibility to change or return.
Simon Warrington: Amazing ceramics, Nevena is a star; super knowledgeable and friendly.
Kraft Dinner: Great, knowledgeable staff. Wonderful pieces for sale at a range of prices and styles. My Go-To spot for gift buying.
Alex Putrenko: Lovely place! Great people 💛
Anna Eroujenets: Took a Beginner Wheel class and it was really good value, definitely worth the price. We learned a lot in each class, the material was broken down by lessons really well. The instructor, Alysha (sp?) is knowledgeable and experienced. She is really good at rewording the explanation and presenting it in a different way if you don't understand something the first time, a great resource. Either manager is at the studio during drop-in hours which is helpful when you inevitably have a question, the other members were open to sharing their experience as well. The studio never felt crowded, it is also extremely clean and organized. As a beginner , I was satisfied with the tools and glazes available. Bonus points for the location and cuteness of the studio. (there is an amazing sandwich place and the best ice cream place close by)
Mary Braun: I am currently taking the beginner pottery wheel class here. Great studio with knowledgeable instructors who do a fantastic job of walking you through the process and assisting when help is needed. I also think the pricing is more than fair for clay and classes.
jock urquhart: great lady that runs the place
Dejan Pantelic: The best of the best
Callie Service: Beginner class at Claytek is so worth the cost. Along with the class you get unlimited access to the studio for the duration of your class. Pottery is pretty difficult and requires loads of practice before you can throw a piece without it collapsing, so the extra time is necessary. The instructor is patient and understanding, and doesn't judge you when you ruin a piece (even if you totally judge yourself). Can't wait to spend more time with my 20+lbs of clay!
MY EMAIL: The place is nice and the location is amazing. However, the staff and the instructors are not really friendly, rude at times. I was a member there and I left because it took them forever to fire and glaze my pieces, so it wasn't really worth it at the end.
Nusheen Dhamani: Great studio with a good facilities and great accessible hours. I took the beginners wheel course and with a bit of practice feel pretty good about what I can build, so far. Pics to come once all my pieces make it through their firings.
Joseph Goldes: I have been working in ceramics as a hobby my whole life, but never before have I felt put off and unwelcome in a studio. I am new to Vancouver and was excited to see a studio so close to my Chinatown apartment. when I walked by and saw that they were not busy, only two people on the wheels, I inquired about a membership. unfortunately I ended up leaving fairly quickly when the woman on staff was quite rude.I don't know her name, but she had gray hair and glasses wire rimmed topped with a broad multicolored band. She seemed entirely uninterested in giving me any information about the studio except that there was a long wait list for membership. It was clear that she would have preferred if I just left the studio and not bothered her. (so much for the "welcome, come in" sign out front...) I asked her how long the wait list was, but Instead of answering she started interrogation me about my experience in clay. yes, she should ask me questions about my experience, but it should not make me feel like I am some low level scumbag, generally I love talking about ceramics, but at this moment I felt like I needed to defend my experience.I didn't get very far in my "defense" because the phone rang and the woman took the call without apology. I walked out then, not worth my time. I work in customer service and the goal is always to make the customer happy. It feels bad to now have that level of service returned to me.
Erin Audley: Claytek is really great. Small classes, loads of wheels, lots of space for hand building, a wide range of clay bodies, glazes, slips etc. to use. Plus loads of really friendly and helpful people. Recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to pot. :)

Craft Council of BC: what do users think?
Esperanza Rodriguez: In my pursuit of nice art and craft stores at BC, I found this place as well. It has unique selection of various items. I was surprised finding those figurines inside because I never expected them to exist in a craft store. But the bizarre collection makes it exciting for me. I like how aesthetically pleasing it is inside as well.
Grace Xiao: I love it!
Daniel Guzmán: If you're looking for a craft beers, this is the place.
JINK lee: 적당히 예쁜 공방 아트샵.
ANDRES CATT: Great place! Cool stuff
Luke Spicer: This place is great for gifts, the staff are friendly and it smells good. Worth checking out. Best craft store on the island!
Pepa Llausas (Vivir Mirando al Mar): Wonderful!!
Sally Ann Kelly: What a wonderful place! I have visited the CCBC Shop and Gallery on several occasions when visiting Vancouver and would recommend it highly to anyone who appreciates high quality, handmade artisan products. The staff are all welcoming, professional and knowledgeable about the products and highly talented artists. The display is elegant and well thought out - a delight to browse! A first stop on Granville Island for gifts but can never resist buying something for myself!
Jocelyn Bussieres: The Craft Council is such a breath of fresh air on Granville Island. Their selection of local contemporary craft is thoughtfully curated and changes regularly. The staff are kind and knowledgable and often have fun bits of information about the artists that they carry and their processes. A reliable go-to for gifts for loved ones or to treat yourself to something special.
Sunny Rothschild: Crafthouse is my go to place when I need to buy a gift. I've also bought some things for myself there because I really loved them. I am now a volunteer and am very fond of the people I work with, both paid staff and other volunteers. Before I was a volunteer, whenever I was on Granville Island I made a point of visiting the store to see the amazing hand crafted items on display and for sale. I always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Now that I am a volunteer, I feel fortunate that I am able to surround myself with so many beautiful things.
Glenda Mindlin: I am always amazed at the selection and workmanship of the crafts displayed.I have bought many things at Craft House both for myself and others.I will continue to visit. The staff are always informative and knowledgeable about the artist and how the piece is constructed.I am always comfortable browsing or getting help from the staff.
Andrea Catt: I work there and love the friendly staff
Jordan Price: Small, quality gallery full of intriguing contemporary crafts, including ceramics and fabric arts.
Olivia Broderick: My experience was not pleasant. When I walked in hoping to buy one of their unique level like necklaces, I was not greeted upon walking in nor asked if I needed help. The two girls working behind the counter obviously didn't want to be there. Trying to open emails on the computer was more important then customer service. I didn't get the two girls names, but one was blonde haired and the other dark haired. Personally I would fire them for lack of customer service and smiling skills. This visit took place thanksgiving day 2016 at around 5 or so.

Stacie S: Very cute little store. It's small and there were a lot of people when I went in Monday afternoon, kids and adults. Fun craft store if you're needing a certain amount of small supplies for a project. Seemed like decent prices.

Deborah Griffin: We love this place! So many good craft supplies. It's a creative reuse place as well as having a few brand new items, so it's great for sparking creativity. Don't come here looking for specific items, though, as inventory is constantly changing.
Chie Watanabe-Scott: When I was taking an Early Childhood Educator course, my teacher recommended this store. I went there for my future practicum, and I enjoyed shopping at this store. While I was in there, my ideas popped up, I couldn't control myself. Thanks to this store, my creativity was being sophisticated.I painted peg dolls for my book extension, it was engaging with children. eye droppers are very helpful for art activity. If you are looking for something new in the education field, I would like to recommend this store.

Sandra Carter: You can find unique art materials here! It was not huge but it's alright considering how many art and craft supply stuffs were already available here. I found lots of adorable stamps that were perfect for my journaling hobby. The price is very affordable here too so it is nice to visit this place for your art supply needs.
Jennie Gonzalez: It is a little art supply store that I also like. I don't mind the little space we had, I find it exciting to look for various supply at top of one item and another. It is like a little art adventure. The owner is also helpful and very friendly. You can find a lot of interesting products here.

You can have a nice adventure looking for good products. You can also be surprised with the things you will find here. My love for journaling has been satisfied at this place too.
Mabel black label: Nifty place with lots of interesting odds and ends stuff for crafting. Parking may be difficult to find, though.

Bird On A Wire Creations: what do users think?
Hitoro Tsuyimoto: Haven’t stepped foot in here and I don’t intend to after the racist driver sporting this business’s logo cut me off, then proceeded to roll down the window and yell racial slurs despite me having the right of way. Note to the owners: hire competent staff that understand the rules of the road and that aren’t klansmen in disguise. The vehicle to watch out for is a black Nissan Qashqai LP: NE689W.
Thanh Le: Super cute cards and nice gifts for all occasions. It's nice to know that your money goes towards local artists. The employees are always nice and happy to help. It's my favourite store on W Broadway!
Denitza Dramkin: The best spot to find work by local artists in one convenient location! The staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable. It’s evident that a lot of time goes into curating the products, and you can always find a great gift for any occasion. Really miss their Main St. location, but I’ll journey to Kits for this place and their selection of goods any day!
Nav Sidhu: Have been going to Bird on a Wire for years now. Such a great place to support local and buy the prettiest stuff. I've bought so much for myself but also as gifts to others- can find something for everyone between the unique cards, bookmarks, pins, and more!
Zohar Levin: Such a special store. Unique stuff. I went there for needle felting workshop and it was super fun and interesting. Can't wait to go for more workshops. So glad i found this place.
Justin Holmes: Great selection of gifts and local artwork! Always find something for someone on my list.
John Lamberton: Nice greetings cards but not as much selection as the main St location used to have
Kim Aubert: Love this unique shop...local artists
Natasha Fairweather: Vancouver-specific art and gifts that are authentic, homey, and beautiful.
Natalie Gibbs: Neat shop full of local items

Highly recommend checking out Bird On A Wire.....just leave yourself enough time because everytime you turn around you spot something else unique and wonderful!!!!! 😀
Anna Manten: A bit of everything and lots of locally made art. Super cute shop and friendly helpful staff.
Christopher J: Helpful staff and lots of selection: greeting cards (tons!), art, house wares, women's jewelry, essential oils, baby stuff, and more. Best part was the fact that they have a little spot for little kids to entertain themselves...life saver. Excellent selection of local creators' wares at good prices. If you like this place, I also recommend Second Nature if the commercial drive area is closer for you. Both great places, so many gift ideas!
Leonie Peters: Such a cute store!
Gabriel Solomon: Awesome place I found while walking around the city looking for Dude Chilling Park. Tons of gift ideas for pretty much anyone. Very cheerful staff also.

Pottery: HiDe ceramic works: what do users think?
Amberly Chung: The owner and Momoka were amazing! I love how cozy and kind the atmosphere is. The owner has many many unique glazes and clay as well as his own pieces displayed. You come in and make up to two pieces on the wheel and then you choose a glaze and in two months you pick it up! They glaze and trim it for you! I love how positive they were and encouraging of each piece no matter the skill level. They truly want everyone to have fun and encourage them to be free with their minds and hands. If you’re a first time pottery thrower, definitely come here for a good experience!!! I will be coming back since I miss wheel throwing and I love how you can make whatever you want there. They also charge you by the weight of your pieces which is better than other competitors that charge a flat rate with less time / more charge for glazing etc. thank you for today!!
Zachary Yamaoka: Patrick was an awesome teacher. Really happy with my bowl
Vinson Tam: We have not done ceramics nor pottery before and decided to do a drop-in session at Hide Ceramics. Our instructor, Haneu, was super patient and walked us through all the steps of wheel throwing basics. In the 80min session, we were able to make either 2 bowls or mugs of our choice as well as choose the finishing for it. This is a great option for those who aren't looking to commit to multi-week classes, but want to explore the world of pottery. You will have to wait 2 months to receive your work however.
Yug Gug: I had a worst pottery experience at this studio. I hide my real name since I want to stay away from him. He is a terrible instructor. I do NOT recommend to take his pottery class.
Brendan Stookey: I've been throwing clay here for a little over a year and absolutely love this place! Everybody is so kind and helpful. All of HiDe's pieces are incredible and inspiring and he's such a gem of a person. Every week I'm excited to get into the studio
Breanne Lehodey: I have been going to HiDe's studio for more than three years as a regular class student and absolutely love it!Students are free to be independent and self-directed with their work (which is not the case at many other studios) and progress at their own pace (I work full time and am only in the studio one evening a week). There is always an instructor to answer questions and give advice and guidance to help students at all levels develop their skills; and there is total respect and support for each student's unique aesthetic/method. The studio has a combination of hand building and wheel throwing (electric and hand wheel) and many types of clay, so you are free to choose how you would like to work and experiment. The atmosphere in the studio is friendly, cosy and calm (there's always good music playing), and students at all levels are constantly chatting and bouncing ideas off each other. It is a beautiful, supportive and judgement-free creative space to spend time in and I can't recommend it enough.
Graeme Bates: Attended a drop-in in 2019 and took classes for 3 years. Love this place so much! The studio is a cozy space, and the teachers are friendly and are keen to help out however they can. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to learn the art of pottery.
Eden Hayley: I adore HiDe. I go to the studio once a week and I've learned so much from the instructors and fellow ceramicists. I like that the regular "classes" are not formal lessons, and you can come with your own ideas and the instructors will help you execute your project. Really friendly environment and very welcoming!
Jason A: I've been taking classes here for over a year now. The instructors are very knowledgeable and I have been able to create a lot of pieces for home use as well as for friends. Highly recommend.
Irene Ng: We've been taking regular classes at HiDe for about 1.5 years now. I really enjoy the freedom to explore my creativity and clear my mind of everyday stresses. The community is so supportive and fun, I look forward to it each week. The instructor gives you advice and mini lessons when asked but a lot of learning is through practice. I may not love every piece that I make, but I very much enjoy the process of getting there.
Breigh Butchart: Instructor was great. Impossible to contact to get my pieces. Emailed 10 times no answers. Left my number for a call - no response. Very unhappy considering amount spent. Was told they would deliver to Winnipeg as we reside there too confirmed I’d pay the shipping and all.
Hello My Name is May: My first time doing pottery on the wheel! My instructor Patrick was amazing and simply explained the process while guiding us through each step during my 80 minute session. I decided to make a ramen bowl 😁
avp: The instructor we had was a bit pushy.
Mitchell S. Zimmerman: We had a great drop in class with Miho. Super useful demo in the beginning and she helped us fix it when we were struggling.
Brandon Lin: ⸌̷̻ ( ᷇๑ॢ˃̶͈̀ ꇴ ˂̶͈́๑ॢ) ⸌̷̻
Lavina Wijaya: I did 2 drop in classes at Hide ceramics studio, once on my own and I loved the experience so much that I came with my family the next time :)Our instructor, Airin, was very professional and dedicated to her craft. I felt that I had learnt a lot about pottery making through her instructions. She also went around to make sure we were able to create the pieces we wanted, and mentioned tips to improve our skills. 10/10 would take the class again!Had some fun taking pictures of the finished products afterwards hahah
ahna kim: This guy was a rude and totally poor teacher. I was looking for a ceramics studio online and remembered that I took a course here a couple years ago and didn’t finish the course because of the terrible vibe here. I would be remiss not to leave a review here. I would stay away.
Sarah Abdu: I got COVID and informed them the day before I need to reschedule (not cancel) and they refused. They took my $18 deposit and refuse to let me book another time unless I pay another $18. How am I supposed to know four days in advance that I’m going to fall sick? COVID is well alive in summer 2022 and you don’t have a policy for it? It takes 3 days to get a response to each email and there’s no phone number to reach them. Wouldn’t recommend. Terrible experience.
Clayton Inglis: Love this studio so much!Although it is very small, the guests and staff are so friendly and helpful. They will provide you with all the tools your need and teach you the techniques necessary to make your piece. Highly recommended.
Tomo I.: It was my first time to try pottery and it was fun! I had a great experience in the class. The owner of the studio and the instructor were very nice and friendly. I would definitely go back.
Kuny: My wife and I had a private lesson from the owner Hide.He showed us how to do it from the basics and let us try and feel how it is fun to do. At that time, he was making a lot of lamp shades for a restaurant in Whistler which is opening soon. We are very impressed by not only his skills but his passion for pottery. He is a real artist and always challenges something new. Other instructors are also friendly and their instructions are easy to follow. I highly recommend to drop-in here and having fun creating something unique for yourself.

Baaad Anna's Yarn Store: what do users think?
Jeffrey Wonser: SUCH a cute store! Excellent selection! We arrived right at 1100a and found the store open. The lady inside was very nice and cheerful! We're tourists, but always like to take in local stores. This one's a gem!
Katie Morgan: Recently took a trip to Vancouver and stayed downtown. I was hoping for walking distance which wasn't the case. I was unable to visit the store as I would have to drive and there was a large homeless population on the street around the shop. 5 stars regardless as I'm sure I would have loved it. I hope they change location soon.
Rebecca W: Incredibly helpful staff and great selection.
Nicholas: Really nice and took the time to explain the differences in materials to me
Becky Bub: Thus is the best place for me to buy my fibre for felting. I love to come to buy what i need for my felting hobby. Staff r very friendly they have a good selection of fibre and yarn and whatever u need to felt, knit, crochet, weaving or spinning. This is my go to store. I love coming here.
A Lavoie: Always a fantastic stop in Vancouver, not just for knitting but most fiber related crafts.
Chad Rattie: Excellent experience! Very helpful staff and lots of yarn 😊
Lynda Marie Neilson: Awesome LYS with tons of cool hand dyed and local dyed yarn! Leave your credit cards behind and window shop!
Catherine Rogers: There is a very nice selection of unusual yarns, well organized. Other related wool products to such as felting g kits are also available along with gift items and accessories. I found just what I needed, very pleased.
Mia Thegreat: Smaller then desired selection of hooks and needles but huge selection for parts to spin, twist, weave yarn. Considerate and knowledgeable staff and lots of locally made nick nacks like stitch counters and darning needles for sale.
Carolyn T.: Great variety of merchandise (including needle felting supllies) and super helpful.
Tania Colina: Fun yarn shop with a great variety of local yarns, books and lots of knitting accessories. Great selection of needles and crochet supplies, fun embroidery kits and very knowledgeable staff.
Barbara Hoodspith: I thought I had found my new local yarn store. First 2 visits were great. Today? Infuriating. I was there at 5 minutes to opening. 2 others joined me. 2 clerks in the store. Great …. Nope. They looked at their watches and walked away ( 1 to straighten tags). Kept me waiting (why???) until exactly 11 am on Christmas Eve. The 2 other customers left. Acknowledgement would have been nice. Better = to not walk in front of the door several times. ( just yo be sure we saw they were ignoring us) Best = open 4 minutes early ( before the other 2 customers left). So …. New customer = gone. I’ll drive to my favourite or shop online. Tags come first here. No accommodation for customers. Had I not Needed the yarn I bought today ($100+) I too would have left. But I won’t be back. I want to shop where customers are wanted … not an inconvenience to tag straightening. Were they wrong. No. Just zero accommodation to customers. They can do so much better.
Andy Sandberg: Extremely helpful!I needed a very specific yarn to mend a jumper, and at first I wanted to browse on my own (that's my default preference anywhere) and the woman attending the store left me to it with zero fuss, but as soon as I did need assistance she was immediately super helpful and found me exactly what I needed. The selection is fantastic, and the people are Wonderful. Also important to note that the shop recently doubled in size (they haven't moved, just added the nextdoor shop) so the range that's out and available is even wider than before! So exciting.
Jeannie Magenta: This store is full of the most exquisite yarns in so many fabulous colors. The staff are super helpful and great to answer any questions you may have. I would highly recommend going for a visit.
Peter Rolfe: Totally Bodacious Yarn Shop! Fantastic selection! Great Prices. LOTS of hand dyed yarn. Amazing staff!
Kevin Wu: Lovely little shop for all things knit related. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Sarah LeSage: My partners go-to yarn store. They have tons of varieties and colours and brands, and they have recently expanded their floor space. They also have equipment rentals, just ask! We rented a spinning wheel once and it was a lot of fun. :) They sell instructional booklets, accessories, felting needles, embroidery and cross stitch kits, buttons, and many different knitting needle sizes and types. An excellent store for the knitter, crochet-er, felt-er, and general craft lover. 👍
Emma: Gonna be nice place for those who started crocheting🤟🏻
Sylvia vanderHeide: Great selection of locally made products. Very knowledgeable owner. This place was very worth my detour!
Mia November: Loooooooooove this store and adore the name. Super helpful staff and just really nice people in general. Great yarn selection!

Claymates Ceramics Studio: what do users think?
Josie Piper: Such a wonderful experience. Our instructor Anna was so great - will definitely be going again!
Sandee Nho: I had the pleasure of being taught by Sydney in an intermediate wheel throwing class. She was able to focus on all of the students and give pointers and advice no matter who or what was going on. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to improve their wheel throwing and to try out different methods of the craft. There's more than enough equipment and the teacher was absolutely wonderful!! I was able to throw my tallest vessel with the most amount of clay I've ever thrown with.
Ewan Kirk: Me and my wife were so happy with our date night pottery class. So much fun. Averee and her team do such an amazing job at creating an inclusive supportive space, I'll definitely go back!
Rocky Banks: Claymates is great! So many amazing glazes and such a nice, calming environment :) very happy to be a member!
Emily Sheppard: This space is so refreshing awesome! Firstly, it’s air conditioned! How civilized. Secondly they have the nicest glazes and slips in the city! Always positivity and laughter in the air. 100 percent recommend this space to everyone.
ANNA Amoroso: The “teacher” didn’t like my positive fun energy. So from the beginning she made me wait until she went through all the “students “ to come to me… meanwhile I was really enjoying myself. And in between her telling my partner that she had never seen someone get so “dirty” within 5 mins before… and my being for being me shamed me for making friends with the other classmates. She Wouldn’t help me. And then I held my hand up to ask if I could get some guidance.. she then asked if she could pull me out for a “talk” cause I was being distracting to the class. Which they were all loving my chats. She just marginalized me and stereotyped me from the beginning as I’ve had done in the past. But have havent experienced it in a long time. Being from east van and living here for 20 years. I feel so attacked and hurt by the way she treated my partner and I (queers)… I was really excited about this new experience and she totally cut me down and made fun of me. I DO NOT recommend spending your money there. Very disappointed. To be honest we were having such a nice time with making our own clay art and bantering with the other people there… until this. Which came as a shock to both me and my partner ( I can’t speak fro others but) from the looks on everyone’s faces them too.My partner and I were so excited to have a date night away from our kids and animals for a couple hrs. I feel shamed and so disappointed by the experience. Once again cannot be “you” in these situations. So sad that this discrimination is still happening.. going back to my to my kids. Never recommending this to anyone. Don’t be funny if you chose to go- which I highly recommend not to. Very strict pottery class.
Rena Lawrence: My friends and I did the Claymatss Date Night - garden creatures themed - and honestly had such a fun and educational experience! We all ended up getting pieces that we loved. Hand building pottery is such a rewarding way to work with clay if you’re new (like we were) but it’s even more rewarding when you have an instructor who really guides you in that process but leaves you enough room for creativity and exploration. I couldn’t recommend the experience enough! The staff were lovely, the space was so equipped (and also very cute), and the *community vibes* were strong! Definitely looking forward to coming back!
Anna Kettler: Great instructors and really well organized and run. Nice environment for creating beautiful things
Nicole Parker: I am so glad I found Claymates when looking for a studio to join in Vancouver! The studio staff are the friendliest, most helpful folks and the vibes in the studio are always positive. The studio is organized, well equipped and veeery cute. I love being a member here.
Eileen Brassington: Claymates was great fun! First time for my daughter & I using a pottery wheel. Our instructor, Hannah, was friendly and encouraging and was run off her feet helping the 7 newbies in attendance. The 2 hour class flew by and we all got to choose one of our items which will be glazed and fired. Finished product available for pick-up in 6 weeks. This would be awesome for a mother/daughter, couples, girls night out or solo activity!
Courtney Galloway: I did private beginner wheel throwing lessons with Claymates which included six 2 hour classes. My teacher was Monica, who was so friendly and a great instructor. As I’m not particularly crafty, before I started the class I was thinking I’d be lucky to end up with one mug good enough to drink out of. In the end thanks to Monica’s expertise and teaching skills, I left with more pieces than I knew what to do with - which made my friends and family very happy. If I were staying in Vancouver, I’d be looking into a membership at the studio, as it’s a great space with really good vibes. Thanks Claymates!
Tanya Reid: After a 10 year hiatus from pottery, I became a member at Claymates studio. Avery runs a really well organized and clean studio. The selection of clays, glazes, tools, etc. are great and allow you to be super creative. The members are super friendly and supportive with people at all different levels. You can always ask a question and get help on a problem. I’ve thrown at a few studios and this is one of the best in Vancouver.
Bambi Edlund: The beginners hand building class with Anna was excellent. She was very welcoming and showed us the basics but then encouraged us to follow our interests when making projects, and was there to answer questions as needed. The space is cozy and comfortable to work in.
Aidan Easson: After finishing a hand build class in this fun and intimate studio I couldn't be more pleased with my experience and time here. The instructor did a fantastic job of demonstrating build techniques in a easy and concise manner which allowed me to have fun with my builds and the process of creation. Easy recommendation for anyone interested in the art of ceramics
Rita Ovis: I’ve been a member of Claymates studio for over a year now I couldn’t be happier with my experience. I’ve also taken multiple classes in which I’ve learned so much and had a blast. The studio is organized, clean and cute. Everyone who attends is awesome and kind, and the glazes and firing process are always so smooth and turn out so good! Highly recommend!
Imogen Tyers: I’ve taken a couple of classes at Claymates & now have the pleasure of being a member. The teachers are welcoming, the space is well equipped and so incredibly organised, however the best aspect is the people. I’ve learnt so much from Averee & other studio members who are always willing to help. I feel so much happier & calmer after a few hours at this studio.
liane carriere: I did an intermediate class and loved it so much I signed up for my membership! Everyone is so kind and helpful. The studio is always clean and very covid conscious! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to try out pottery or refining their skills!
D R Haliburton: Love this space! The studio is tidy and well equipped - it's a very comfortable place to work.
Tessa Leyland: I’ve been a member at Claymates for a few months and absolutely love it! The staff are super friendly and helpful, the studio is fun and clean, it’s really affordable and flexible to my schedule, and has a great community feel :) highly recommend!
Katie Slimmon: Love coming here! It's a very inclusive space for all skill levels. Very organized studio. Vancouver gem!
Melissa Philley: I attended a private event for a bachelorette that was led by Monica. None of us had any experience with throwing so she had her work cut out.The space when we entered was cute and inviting. Monica was open to us hanging a little bit of decor for the event and then we felt really cozy and at home for the rest of the evening.Monica had a sweet, warm, and calming presence which was needed in a room full of newbies. She felt like our cheerleader who was also there to laugh with us when our mistakes got a little out of hand. Her demonstrations and analogies were on point and made us laugh. She had immense patience repeating the same directions and steps to multiple people over and over again. Monica made our experience at Claymates what it was. Because of her I will definitely be recommending the studio to people in the future.
