Mood Disorders Association of BC: what do users think?
Clobberella: Complete waste of time. My 60 minute appointment was over in under 10 minutes. Asked very superficial questions, cut off responses, didn't ask follow up questions. Made assumptions, and called it a day.
Mikey: Do not go for RTMS here. Going on day 3 of headache, extreme pain behind eye and my ears ringing technician not properly trained. Do better research or do it a UBC as I feel you would be in better hands
Carah Holmes: Dr. Brost is very caring, kind and efficient. He has truly helped me through my journey during the highs and lows. The receptionists are also lovely. They are patient and informative.
Broderick Griffey-Krist: They will get you in fast, and it's a subsidized clinic by the Provincial government meaning you'll spend less money than anywhere else.If you feel comfortable with being provided rTMS for treatment of depression without diagnostic imaging such as Quantative Electroencephalagraph or fMRI, then go here.Personally I would suggest using diagnostics before treatment your most precious organ, the brain.QEEG Neurofeedback or Cognitive behavioral therapy, Hypnosis, EMDR, Emotion Code, or Tapping, as it's called are better alternatives to begin researching into & doing.
Elizabeth Haley: Consistent, caring and reliable. Provided services in the most accessible way I have ever seen an organization do. Highly recommend for your mental health recovery to reach out to MDABC.
Becky Donoghue: Dropped me as a patient when my issues became too much.
Will T: This is a failed experiment, as is evidenced by the Centre's recent closing down of the Robson St. clinic and the association's merger with another dubious charity. Furthermore I am told by staff that the doctors have been fleeing the place in droves and patients are being purged from the system. This decline and fall is what is deserved. As a patient there for two years, attending their goofy "Group Medical Visits" (GMV) I have yet to witness anything like "group therapy" happening in the meeting rooms. It's just a crowd prescriptions filling! The doctors - not all, but many - are barely "there" in their minds. They refuse to communicate with patients individually. The docs rarely respond to patient email messages. Likewise, they refuse to communicate with pharmacies when something goes wrong with a prescription, such as when a patient misses a "GMV" but needs his prescriptions anyway, or when a patient inadvertently forgets to request one particular med at the GMV.They say they are performing a wonderful new innovative service to mental health patients. It's baloney! Since most of the docs there are working pro bono, it is unclear just WHO is being served! The only imaginable winner is BC Healthcare itself, by way of a sizable reduction of doctor visit fees paid out when one doctor sees a dozen patients at a single consult.Don't waste your time with these people.
Jay Omega: Worst psychiatrist I've ever talked to. Recommended the strongest most dangerous drugs after a 1 minute conversation. Was incapable of listening. Terribly unprofessional and 100% bound to the tainted body of information coming from pharmaceutical companies where actual good psychiatrists are better listeners, more open minded, and have respect for the intelligence of their patients.
Michael Sarvari: This organization does some of the most meaningful work I've ever seen for those struggling with a mood disorder. I would recommend their services to anyone.
Jillian Robertson: I have been a participant in the Food and Mood, Group Therapy and Medication consultation. I am so impressed with the kind and sincere caring treatment I have received. My journey has been long but I feel like I can cope so much better with this team.
Ingrid S: I also am thankful that I have found this place. My doctor referred me here after I had a difficult time finding the right psychologist fit. I went to see one of the counselors and found him very helpful in my particular situation(s) and went back to see him again a couple years later. I found my session very helpful.
Alice Knowlden: For almost 5 years this place has been a safe haven for me and has helped me through the toughest times in my life. Thank you to all who make this place run and, especially Dr. Remick, for helping me find myself again.
Sarah J.: This place absolutely saved my life. Dr. Torbicki is the best psychiatrist I've ever seen.
Paula: I am so glad that this Assoc. is available to anyone - you only need a referral and that can be from any walk-in clinic etc. They really do get individuals immediate help (often with a needed medication), and then the group visits are very useful. Remember, these are highly trained Psychiatrists who are interviewing you and following up with you in the group sessions. There is no easy way to see a Psychiatrist by yourself on a regular basis. Although I have not been to any of the Behavioural sessions offered by the Psychologists on staff (these are the ones you pay for), I am sure some of these 'courses' are very useful. Someday, I hope most G.P.'s offices will have a Clinical Psychologist on staff to assist with patients closer to home. There is still a long way for Canada and the world to improve Mental Health access and assistance. My one constructive comment for the association is that : The new location's waiting room is small and the clerical staff and others engage in 'office chat & laughter' which is normal in an office, but disconcerting in this type of place where clients who are waiting are frequently very depressed and unhappy. I would really appreciate if the staff in the waiting room area were mindful of this and chatted etc. in a quiet tone so as to be respectful of the clients. At the other location, it was very calm and quiet, which is best for such a setting.
Robb Hogan: Continued support and I have always felt listened to.
S. Regis: I've given this extra star only because it's a necessary alternative to an inexcusably long wait list for people needing help.I feel for Camille, the Borderline dx seems to be the diagnosis du jour for women, yet despite the lip service, it leads to prejudice in any other clinical setting yet it's handed down from on-high in 10 minutes? In itself, the group visit was awful I felt any disagreement or discussion with the psychiatrist running the group would have been given a pat answer, well I was, and there is an implied "That's enough from you" No matter how you feel. there's no one to see after, you're rushed out, and your choice is the E.R. No one should leave a psychiatric visit crying with no follow-up.I was in emotional agony, but had to put on a brave face and after one protest, nod yes whatever the Doctor said. "See you again in three months"I left feeling alone and scared, not knowing where else to go. I heard another woman sobbing in the bathroom, she had been at the same visit. It feels like a McDonald's drive through. Shame on the system.
Dorothy J: The doctors are down to earth and practical. I have never been promised a "cure" but I have been heard and allowed input to my own mental health concerns.I don't care for group visits much, but prefer it over no help or paying through the nose for just a med change.I just wish my chosen doctor was not booked fully so often; I would like to just stick with the 1 rather than whoever has an opening in 2 weeks.
A Scott: Honestly, I'm so grateful I was referred to this clinic because I've had nothing but great experiences here. I've been seeing Dr Gorman for the past year and a half, and he's helped me diagnose my disorder, understand/how to cope with it, and aid in my "recovery" process. The wait times can be a little off-putting, but I promise that it's probably worth the awesome psychiatrists.
Camille o'rourke: At best, this organization is a mental health assembly line. I've been struggling with depression and anxiety for years. Was given a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder after a 10 minute interview with the doctor.
Sacha O: I started out at this place by having an intake by a cold but professional woman, who immediately prescribed me medication, which i am grateful for. Since then she has left the practice and I have been volleyed between a few different doctors for group medical visits, which just are not for me.Its uncomfortable enough speaking to a stranger about your issues without a room full of people judging and hearing about your personal issues. The last meeting I attended i spoke to the three psychiatrists that were there and all i left with was a book recommendation for mindfulness written on a scrap piece of paper. The prescribing doctor kept looking at the clock while i expressed how my mental health was hindering my success and how awful I felt. I was looking for support and coping mechanisms, or a referral to an ADHD specific Dr. and he let me walk out of the office crying with a book recommendation. Mental health support in this city is dismal, and I shudder to think what people with more severe mental health concerns go through to get the bare minimum of support. Won't be going back here. I feel as if I wasted a year trying to get support from doctors who don't care.

The UBC Department of Psychiatry: what do users think?
Wathik Alhashimi: During Dr. Woo’s first zoom session of June 2020, Dr. woo diagnosed me remotely on “hearsay” basis and in less than 10 minutes with “Mid Dementia “. Dr. woo during this session and 14 months afterwards (to Aug 27, 2021) never showed any concerns regarding my driving abilities, nor he wrote to the Ministry of public Safety, BC in this regard for their actions.Dr. Woo never followed up until Aug 27, 2021, by his second zoom session. The medications Dr. Woo claims to have instructed my GP (Dr. J. Baxter) was not provided to me until Feb 01, 2021, that is 7 months after Dr. Woo’ diagnosis (Remedy RX Cowrie Pharmacy supplied me on Feb. 01, 2021, with Risperidone 0.5mg (RX 1088472). That is 7 months upon Dr. Woo zoom session of June 2020 .RoadSafetyBC have made no attempts, whatsoever, to verify the accuracy of Dr. Woo’s report rushing into hasty action to follow the report’s dishonest and contradictory statements. At no point did Dr. Woo’s report of Aug 27, 2021, questioned my mental abilities as stated in other than Dr. Woo’s accusation of me being impulsive, rather. Regarding my mental abilities Dr. Woo in his report agreed with the MoCA results submitted to Ministry of Public Safety, BD-RoadSafety by DR. Ceri Strating letter dated Oct 15, 202.Why DR. Woo waited for 14 months (Jun 2020- Aug 27, 2021) to report my driving unfitness to the Ministry of Public Safety, BC ?Dr. Woo never saw me or examined me physically (June 2020 to to-date). He tried to see me on Oct and Nov 2021, but I declined due to his dishonesty and unprofessionalism.Dr. Woo never included in his report the reasons why I was not cooperating with him, and why I did terminate the Zoom Session of Aug 27, 2021. My cooperation with Dr. Woo went to the point of Dr. Woo’s accusation of me as “Shop-Lifting” and “Peeing in Public Spaces” which were never mentioned in Dr. Woo’s report of Aug 27, 2021, altogether. It is only fair the content of the two zoom sessions recordings be requested and analyzed by RoadSafetyBC prior to rushing into any actions.

Dr. De Freitas,: what do users think?
Ronald Wu: Does not care the well being and live of patients at all. Avoid at all costs.
G: Just called to inquire about their services. Whoever I spoke with was incredibly rude and basically hung up on me. Despicable level of professionalism
Ranjit Dhinsa: Just called to ask if a referral is needed to see the psycatrist, whoever picked up the phone didn't even let me finish but finished my sentence for me with a firm tone and hung up. Thanks but no thanks I need to get my mental condition better not worst. I will stay away from this clinic.
Hedy Krause: I've been seeing Dr. De Freitas for 4 years now and for the first time in my life I feel like I have my life under control. He's incredibly knowledgeable about all medications and knows what combinations work best for me.

Forensic Psychiatric Hospital: what do users think?
T J: I go for a walk at Colony Farm. While walking, I would like to charge my electric car. But since the forensic hospital staff rotate their cars, it's impossible to charge my car.Yes, it's open to everyone, but can we have some courtesy? There's always hospital staff car waiting, and once the charging vehicle is done, the next person comes out of the hospital to switch. Please install an EV station in the hospital! You guys make money, so why are you taking joy from people walking in nature while charging cars?
Kristina Tkachuk: Largest WorksafeBC fine in history of $650,000 in 2019, $75,000 fine in 2016, $15,000 fine in 2014. 200 escapes from 2009-2014. Hundreds more from 2014 to present. This facility is a waste of tax payers money and an embarrassment. You could not pay me to live around that Gong Show, not hard to find hundreds of ex employees who have horrific experiences from working at this so called facility. It’s time the public stands up to this nonsense.
Mrs M: They can’t keep their patients in the facility…every two months the neighbourhood gets a BOLO notice because someone has escaped, again. I can’t imagine the negligence that happens here.
Brett B: Trash facility. Dangerous people escape from here all the time. Don't know how or why but very dangerous.
Jo Dyal: this place is sick, don't ever allow your loved ones to suffer here. cancel colony farms
LOUIS APPLE: Hospital for the criminally insane they went to the point of having a meal nurse sponge bath me to the point of feeling so disgusting and there was nothing I could do to talk him out of it there for the weekend or the worst weekend I felt like a year
Joshua Andrade: I go here to see my brother, all you people stop joking about this place. Take it very seriously, there are sick people here.
Justin Böttcher: Grave Encounters :o OMG....
ilya Menow: Prekrasno!
Vlad: It's really? O_o
Миша Белкин: OMG it is real
