Vancouver General Hospital: what do users think?
Jessica
Jessica: I came in for a CT and found the two information desk staff to be incredibly rude when asked for directions and a face mask. I know health care workers are overworked and we are grateful for your service but.. Isn't the point of an information desk to provide information?

nicole travassos
nicole travassos: Clean, friendly staff covid friendly.
Jonine Rochacewich
Jonine Rochacewich: I recently had ankle surgery, I spent three weeks on the orthopedic/trauma floor. The doctors and nursing staff were wonderful and professional, I know their jobs are especially challenging during Covid-19 and they work very hard. I cannot say the same for the two physiotherapists assigned to me; one was extremely rude with no bedside manner. Also, the hospital was not very clean. I realize the cleanliness could be a result of the hospital being short staffed.
brigitte cavanagh
brigitte cavanagh: Everything look fine. I had many small surgeries and 1 bigger, some nurses were not nice....but there is not much i can do about their staff.
Keith Johnstone
Keith Johnstone: Well run. No hot water in some of the public washrooms tho

Vancouver General Hospital: Women's Clinic: what do users think?
Erin Westbury
Erin Westbury: My doctor sent them a referral. They declined the referral but did not contact my doctor about this decline. I ended up calling the clinic myself to find out it was declined. Have been waiting weeks for a response. Very disappointed and very unprofessional.
Gary Beka
Gary Beka: Just always been treated very nice workers are caring never bad experience ....had double lung transplant.nov 29th got out aug 21st have no issues. Go to vgh for testing and workers r great !!!!
Claire M
Claire M: Great experience at the the clinic for procedures, all nurses I dealt with in person were caring, informative, and efficient. My low rating is due to how I received my results. I have only ever communicated with doctors here via my personal phone number for the last two years. However, they must have an outdated number included on my records somewhere, which is a family member’s number. They called that number, reached a voicemail, and left a message with the full and explicit details of the results of my tests - To the wrong number.I understand that dialling the wrong number happens, but to leave the full details of the results on a voicemail is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. If results are going to be given over the phone, please ensure you are speaking to the patient. This is so upsetting, and a massive violation of my privacy. My hope is that this review can serve as a reminder to anyone at the clinic that needs to hear it, to be much more mindful of how you are delivering results, and to whom.
Dani
Dani: Nurses are very friendly and helpful
Fraser Valley Homes Sales
Fraser Valley Homes Sales: Waiting for over an hour so far.. not even a magazine to be found! Bring something to do while you wait because you wont even find an old newspaper here.
Vikram S
Vikram S: Excellent Hospital and very kind and friendly staff who take care of you in a professional manner.

Burnaby Hospital: what do users think?
Jennifer M
Jennifer M: I suffered a miscarriage and was bleeding massively. From the triage nurse, to the ER doctor, to the OB/Gyn, the nursing teams, ICU staff, and finally the staff from the Maternity Unit - everyone worked in synergy to save my life and I could not be more grateful to them. Dr Paul Johar, Michelle, Sydney, Marie, and Evan from the Emergency Department - thank you! Dr. Cornel Smith - cool as a cucumber - thank you! Nestor and Brooke from the ICU - thank you! And Eugenia, Daphne, Ira, and Leila (I’m sorry if I’ve got some of your names wrong) from Maternity - thank you! I wish I could remember everyone’s names.
Bakhtawar Syed
Bakhtawar Syed: I understand the staff are doing their best, however the wait times are beyond ridiculous. 6 hour e.r wait on Friday and today currently over 3 hours waiting for a technician to review an ultrasound taken at 7:30am!
Dtour
Dtour: 5.5 hour wait time to not even get a hi from a doctor? really? staff is rude and ignore you whenever they have a chance. They were busy I get it but this is completely unacceptable. Cant wait to include this information in my civil suit!
MaHmooD KhaN
MaHmooD KhaN: Some accountability and responsibility is mandatory in the emergency room money is not always the solution. Very bad and poor management unfortunately. Its been more then 5 hour and still waiting imagine. After 7 hour wait we gave up so shame on you burnaby hospital and no sympathy
Sumi Philip
Sumi Philip: It was a bad experience from the time we entered the emergency department.Staff was rude. They might be overworked but everyone should be treated with respect, specially if the patient is under stress and sick.I had to wait 4 hours to get an injection which doctor prescribed and to meet the doctor I had to wait 7 hours the previous night.
Mr.QWERTY
Mr.QWERTY: If you want to be tortured while you’re sick, look no further than Burnaby Hospital Emerge. You will be asked to sit down while your short of breath, having chest tightness and nauseous. Not the staff’s fault but its our government. Our government treats our medical staff like garbage and at the end, the public suffers.
gabrielle riess
gabrielle riess: I have been going to our Burnaby hospital for 50 years, raising a daughter and grandsons. Treat professional staff with respect and you get it back. Thank you hospital staff....
Maki
Maki: this hospital is worst service and worst level in my life .specially reception. Doctor was good . But the reception lady didn’t know about the service . I want to know her name . She is really terrible asian women .
A
A: Asian lady with glasses & chubby white lady with brown hair working triage the morning of April 29, 2023 between 1am & 3:30am need to be fired immediately. I have never experienced such rude staff at a healthcare facility in my entire life & I am in & out of the hospital more often than most people due to my health conditions. As I was explaining to the white lady what’s going on with me I couldn’t control my vomit which made my eyes extremely watery causing my eyelashes to fall off so I placed them at the edge of the counter as I reached for my care card & she goes on to say in a very rude tone “yeah you can get those lashes off my table” & I politely let her know I wasn’t planning on leaving them here & will be throwing them in the garbage as soon as I get up. After waiting for 1 & a half hours I politely asked the Asian lady if she had any idea when I would be called up & in a very cold, rude tone she says “I don’t know, I don’t know how long you have to wait” & I said well can you please let me know how many patients are ahead of me & she says in an extremely rude manner “I don’t know, lots, go sit in the waiting room.” talking to me as if I’m a child & I said “you don’t have to be so rude when you can clearly see I’m a sick patient in distress” & she goes on to say “Do you want me to call security?” I was at a loss for words & completely blown away that people like this are employed in the healthcare field. After another hour & asked the white lady this time & she says “I don’t know, there’s lots of ACTUAL sick patients in there fighting for their life so I don’t know how long you’ll be waiting, could be 6 hours, could be 10 hours!” I’m sorry but am I not an “actual” sick patient? Absolutely disgusting! Is this what Burnaby hospital considers as care for their patients or think this is how a proper emergency triage is run? I have never in my life waited that long in emergency & regardless of whether it’s Delta hospital, Surrey hospital or Royal Columbian they have always put me on an IV with fluids & zofran right away to help with my nausea & prevent me from dying of dehydration yet these nurses were treating me & other sick patients in the waiting room like a joke! These women lack compassion & should be fired immediately & not be trusted around around sick patients. Absolute disgusting attitude & behaviour & treatment of patients from these 2 vile women.
C & T
C & T: Avoid if you don’t like waiting. I’ve been in Emergency for 9 hours so far and still haven’t seen a doctor.
Roni Kury
Roni Kury: Heads up: main entrance now 100% closed off die to construction!
Super Martin
Super Martin: The lady who work early at General admin table this morning April 17/23, she was very rude and impolite, if she doesn’t like her job then don’t work.
Shay A
Shay A: This place does not even deserve one star and only for the way the nurses and reception handled things. My doctor was very respectful and the ultrasound office was nice but the emergency room and fast track was horrible. I came in literally not able to breath and asked them to help us and all they kept saying was to sit down and that we need to wait. One nurse put a "closed" sign on her desk. EMERGENCY CLOSED? sorry I didn't know that my emergency was during an inconvenient time.. They literally would sit there doing NOTHING i wouldn't even see them on their computers at times and then the way they would talk to other people was just horrendous! A guy came in with a gashing wound on his head bleeding and he said he was dizzy and they didn't even bat an eye at him. I really really hope head office sees this and does something about it because you should really look into what kind of PERSON you're hiring not just what degree they've achieved to be suitable for the position. A simple smile would even suffice. Finally when I had enough, I announced I was leaving and the receptionist at fast track goes "your file is right here it takes 5 mins to review you can wait another 5 mins. SIT. DOWN." THEN WHAT WERE YOU DOING IN THE PAST HOUR??? there was only one other person waiting with me! Then another nurse goes "you can't choose when to leave so sit back down" SO RUDELY. Horrible horrible service and I think I'd die if I had a real fatal emergency and I went there, not that my shortness of breath wasn't!!! Another thing is that I do not try to bud in and say that I know what responsibilities they have because i don't. However, the only issue is that when you're such a disgusting rude person to others that are just trying to understand what is going on, then no I won't sympathize with what you gotta put up with because we have to put up with you. Be nice, I promise it won't kill you ladies
Dan Williams
Dan Williams: Don't bother going here!
김유림
김유림: The reception was very unpleasant. Doctors and nurses were good, but at the reception, they asked my parents' names and sighed, "Don't you have an English name?" In addition, the woman who measures blood pressure was angry that she did not answer quickly, asking questions in difficult medical terms.
Kyran Nolan
Kyran Nolan: It was our first time in the emergency room so we weren't sure what to expect, but I'd consider it pretty positive. All of the staff were very helpful and made sure my mom got the treatment she needed. The care may not have been the fastest, but considering how busy it was with the limited amount of staff and space, I have no complaints. Thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff for their efforts. Special thanks to one of the overnight nurses (had an accent with cool colorful crocs) who cared for my mom and managed to find a bed for her to sleep in while she was on fluids. Initially she seemed a bit stern, but she was very straightforward and caring which I greatly appreciated.
Fishy Fishy
Fishy Fishy: The most unsympathetic, pathetic and insensitive team of ER medical professionals I have ever witnessed. While I understand they are under immense stress and pressure from an overburdened medical system but at least TALK and have updated conversations with concerned family members. You guys are not God so don't act so arrogant when we are simply seeking answers. And if you don't care, then leave this profession. If you want to become a statistic, please come to this hospital. If not, kindly exit and proceed to VGH.
Alkarim Amarsi
Alkarim Amarsi: The parking rates in their parking lot are a money grab and can only be described as cruel to the patient's families. These rates are hourly as opposed to every half hour increment and without "all day rate" options. This is is one more thing that makes the community dislike the Burnaby Hospital even further. I hope the Burnaby Hospital Management appreciates that this looks ugly especially in a hospital setting paid for by the tax payers of BC. Please alert Impark that manages your parking lot to make the changes asap!!!
Dragan Gnjatovic
Dragan Gnjatovic: One star only bcos can't give zero
Arun Swamy
Arun Swamy: Truly disgusted by incredible sense of apathy the ER doctor showed to my friend who was suffering. I have way too many questions. Where did your basic sense of decency go? Why are you even there if you talk to people the way you do? None of them in that room seeking help are there by choice. You use your egomaniac power on the people in pain to show off what you say goes? Disgusting, truly!
Hussein Haidar
Hussein Haidar: Its first time i come here, my small brother needed stitches in his head he is 6 years old, i told them i am in a hurry i was fasting and i haven’t ate anything the whole day, and it was already 6pm they literally made me wait over 3 hours in the emergency, they told me wait 10 minutes and then we will apply the stitches. I slept on the chair for 15 minutes, then waited 30 minutes and no one even passed and said anything, beside being the first one to enter to zone 3 with my brother as the first patient, all in all when i told them i cannot wait any more, with no cense of humour they told me its your call u can leave if you want beside looking on my brother situation. Literally a hospital with no sense of humour and doesn’t know how to deal with patients.

Vancouver General Hospital Emergency Department: what do users think?
Parinoor Basra
Parinoor Basra: This hospital doesn’t deserve any star. The doctors and nurses killed our family member by giving overdose. When we need medical aid we get nothing in return except saying let your aunt go with dignity. Doctors are for saving peoples life or giving these statements.
Mark Dave Sarmiento
Mark Dave Sarmiento: Useless hospital. I’ve waited too long and no one was available.
Rowan Wang
Rowan Wang: got a serious blood problem, bleed everywhere, waited in a room for 4 hours before any doctor met us. the good side was, the bleed began to slow down before doctor came, if they gave us more time waiting, maybe it would stop totally.
Joel White
Joel White: I came in two nights ago with extreme pain from a kidney stone and just wanted to thank all of the nurses and doctors who dealt with me. I was one of many people suffering and despite being very busy, I felt cared for by every point of contact. The nurses were so busy, but they were all lovely and took the best care of me. Thank you all so much.
Kseniya KEKKSICK (KEKKSICK)
Kseniya KEKKSICK (KEKKSICK): This was my first experience with an ER in Canada and I was just discharged from this emergency room. I have to say I was in and out, the whole process took about 2 hours, every employee was super nice and respectful. Very helpful doctors and nurses and an organized process, not at all what I was expecting after hearing horror stories about ERs.Luckily I didn't need any further hospital admission, the doctor gave me very thorough home care instructions and medication memos. So thank you for a smooth experience and professional help!
Nakita
Nakita: Busy place, busy healthcare workers
Carrie
Carrie: Hands down best hospital in Vancouver the nurse and doctors are super friendly, caring and actually take their time to figure out what is going on I went in with sever stomach pains and pain with my breathing and they took extra steps to make sure it wasn't anything to serious the wait was a bit long but that is to be expected in the ER
Sylvia Thomas
Sylvia Thomas: Two months ago, my husband came into Emergency due to a heart attack. The doctors and nurses were amazing. From start to finish, they had him admitted, explained to us the problem and put a stent in his heart all within 41 minutes. The staff exemplified grace under pressure. They were kind, gentle and sensitive all while being professional and efficient. I saw our system through a new set of eyes. They were truly remarkable.Like many of you, I too have complained about the long waits at Emerg having come in for things that felt really scary. For the first time, I realized that the wait was because they were saving people who would literally be dead if they had to wait for hours. Our system has many difficulties at present. We do need to address them, but the staff at our hospitals are overloaded and working for the most part with great grace and dignity.I can't thank them enough. My husband will be here to celebrate Christmas with his grandchildren because of them and their dedication. Thanks to all the dedicated hospital workers who are facing pressures every single shift that we can't imagine. I found it hard to just be in Emergency. I can't imagine the stress of making life and death decisions constantly and having to make the difficult decisions of who to treat first. They are dedicated! They are compassionate! They are amazing!
C
C: I got in a scooter accident and was here overnight. The nurses who work here are some of the nicest people I’ve met in Vancouver. My shirt was cut off on the ambulance ride to the hospital and they gave me one to wear home. Charged my phone so I could contact my family throughout my stay. We need to appreciate our healthcare workers more than we do. My mom is also a retired nurse so I know the amount of work they put in everyday.
N
N: Triage nurse is such a rude, miserable woman. People are vulnerable when they come to the ER. Treating people as if they’re health issue is mediocre after answering one question is incredibly irresponsible. You chose this career. You get paid. We all have jobs. You aren’t better than anyone else because you are in healthcare. If you hate your job so much, find a new one. Pathetic.
Karla Bruneau
Karla Bruneau: I had an acute neck seizure while visiting Vancouver on the weekend that resulted in a trip to the VGH ER. Dr.Rose and Daniel the nurse were exceptionally kind. I felt extremely well taken care of. I’m grateful for their professionalism, and for the incredible service I received from start to end.
mc andrian mckenzie
mc andrian mckenzie: If i could rate them none star, i would.
Erphat Jelil
Erphat Jelil: One hour one patient! More people working than patients but still working extremely slow!
Ryan Chase
Ryan Chase: Extremely under staffed, no help
Nikki Henderson
Nikki Henderson: Super long wait as always . But there nurses and doctors were surprisingly very nice . Only complaint is that I waited in emergency in a chair for hours in lots of pain. Also one lady who does your morning blood pressure came in super loud and aggressive, not cool . I almost fell off the bed . But over all wasnt a bad experience .
T Duong
T Duong: I hate giving poor reviews to health care professionals and you will probably never find this type of review on my account but I had to write this. I came into the ER for an infected abscess that was causing nauseating pain to the point where I could barely talk and walk.Admitting was easy but the staff who took my vitals yelled at me for no reason. Yes I understand it's Friday night and you're tired, but that is no reason for unnecessary aggression. Felt like I wasn't even a human in her eyes. She placed the oxygen monitor near my thumb and asked me to place my "finger in it" so automatically I moved my thumb forward. She then screams "FINGER" directly in my face. Ok, my mistake, but was very uncalled for and really woke me up lol.Waited 2 hours to see a doctor which was what i expected. The doctor cleared and drained my abscess and gave little information after the procedure.Thankfully what made this experience okay was the fun nurse who provided me with some pain meds and brought me to the room. Made a few jokes here and there and just brightened up the mood.
Charles Porter
Charles Porter: Staff are uncaring and rude.
R P
R P: August 14 at 1pm. Registration lady is beyond rude. My father had a heart attack and I was TOLD by the other hospital where he was transferred from to specifically ask Emerg to take us to Cath Lab because they have to have special entry to let us in. I waited while they were chit chatting about their day. When I tried to interrupt to ask where the Cath Lab is, she put up her finger and told me to wait. Then she proceeded to FINISH CHIT CHATTING AND THEN asks how she can help. Told her again my father was transferred and I need to get to Cath Lab. She tells me to turn around and goes 'do you see the volunteers? ask them, thats their job' after I told her I actually did ask them first and they directed me again to registration. She was still not helpful with so much attitude and 0 sense of urgency.I work at St Pauls and BC Childrens myself so I am fully aware of delicate and fragile patient and family care is ESPECIALLY in Emergency situations. This registration lady did not care whatsoever and clearly hates her job. She should be fired. Atrocious attitude to people in need. I do not thank you for her service at all rather she is an embrassment to healthcare workers.
Rebecca Z
Rebecca Z: I was treated by Dr. VanDewark for a fracture. He is kind, efficient and knowledgeable. He provided me with up to date treatment recommendations and ortho follow up referral. Nurse Cheryl then fitted me for an aircast boot and crutches. She was such a ray of sunshine. Overall, a positively wonderful experience at VGH ER.
Dennis K
Dennis K: The Indian nurse working at the Acute Care section of Emergency on August 3, 2022 at 2:30am is just a useless tool with a bad attitude. Zero compassion for people in pain. Clearly you became a nurse for the wrong reasons. If you're so miserable with your career or life, go do something else. Stop collecting welfare from the tax paying citizens of this city you bum. I feel sorry for your husband/boyfriend or anyone else that has to spend time with you.
Tim Creviston
Tim Creviston: Wouldn’t even go back here if I was dying.Worst ever

Xu Jiang
Xu Jiang: huge. . . . . slow. . . . . . huge. . . . . slow. . . . .
Jack Chan
Jack Chan: It's just that the waiting time is long and other places are good.
Lawson Hui
Lawson Hui: Broke a bone in my left arm Riding an electric unicycle, had my first emergency operation ever performed the same day, Good experience with all the nurses and doctors here, everyone is very friendly, informative and professional! Thank you Nurse Rose, Zahra, Ashley, Dr Van Wes, Dr Kendall and more!
Gabriel
Gabriel: So the hospital is open 24 hours. Great. But there’s a big problem, they don’t have Doctors working overnight. So if you get sick or whatever injuries they make you wait until about 8 hours until a Doctor comes in and sees you in the morning when you’re dead tired from staying awake all night. (No blanket given to me until about 8am. No pillows given, they expect you to sleep on those hard patient beds.)Staff and nurses are very friendly however so that’s good. And I understand they’re doing the best they can, under the circumstances and available staff.
Dariush Adim
Dariush Adim: The nurses are very nice here
Miss Fearless
Miss Fearless: Absolutely the WORST emergency I have even been in Canada. At 6am on a Sunday, with 2 people in front of me.. still haven’t seen a doctor 3.5 hours later. Meanwhile, listening to all the staff socializing, talking on cell phones while standing around the water cooler. Inefficiency and incompetence at its finest.
S R.
S R.: Dr. Simmonds was so attentive and patient with us. Really appreciate the care he gave us at ER. Thank you
Amy and Paul H
Amy and Paul H: I would if I could give a negative star if possible. Very bad experience or feeling twice at yellow zone MRI receptionist, she is very cold and reluctantly to work. She doesn't look at or check patients care card, she just let patients read the number and she has no motion while letting you reading the number.she looks very unhappy while working. She threw the medical form to chair and left, didn't tell us to fill the form, we realized that we need to fill the form after 20 mins.Shall she check patient med card and confirm the patient is correct people. And more, shall she tell patient to fill out a form instead throw it to a chair and left? Are we supposed to get a basic service on Saturday morning?Actually, rest of the staff at MRI are very nice and professional, her attitude is really downgrading others efforts.
Helena K
Helena K: Awesome Hospital Great service and awesome Dr's I have never had a bad experience in this Hospital.Thank you for all you do.

Frank G: Long wait times. But the care was quite good 👍🏽.
erica y
erica y: I’m writing this review that was supposed to be written 5 years ago. I was laughed at by a nurse while I was in serious pain and that memory does not leave. I had an acute flare of severe eczema and was rushed to the hospital. I was sat in a curtained room as the nurse came in and ask what my situation was. Everything was going well until she started to give me shots in both arms. She applied a numbing gel first— however, my arm did not feel numb. She injected a shot into my arm and I was in extreme pain, my arms were folded in panic and I started to scream. The numbing gel finally started to work, however, I couldn’t tell if my arms were relaxed or not as the nurse repetitively asked me to unfold them. I kept telling them my arms were down (or i felt like they were) and I heard laughing. My mom and my sister started to laugh which was somewhat okay… But the nurse? I was completely shattered to hear them laugh as I screamed in pain. It felt like it lasted 2 hours of torture and humiliation. This memory will forever stick with me and it’s humiliating. Horrible experience. I don’t think I’ll ever depend on this hospital again.
Boris741
Boris741: Busy Hospital Most Day's! Amazing Dr's n' Nurse's Staff as Any Hospital Deal's With alot is a given n' Shout out to them in a High Stress LifeStyle! So of Course I Give them All a 5 Star! 🙌🏻For doing what the Do
Gur Gill-Rai
Gur Gill-Rai: My visit to the ER in 2022 gives me still ptsd. Was experiencing chest pains with leg pain at my workplace a public sector. We have a medical clinic and I rushed to see the doctor. She suspected a pulmonary embolism and asked me to head to the ER immediately with an ambulance and advice them what the doctor suspected. My manager called 911 and as I work in a public sector where we have paramedic services they came within minutes and gave me the same rundown as the doctor. They advised me the wait for the ambulance is like an hour and the Richmond hospital is just 10 minutes away. They said to rush there and let the ER know I have been checked my a medical doctor and paramedics and they suspect a pulmonary embolism and I should be taken right away. My manager rished me to the ER right away. This is where the nightmare began.Once at the ER the receptionist could care less about any information I had to share. Kept telling me have a seat. I multiple times try to explain was I have been told by the doctor and paramedics (apparently it was also remarked somewhere) but she kept cutting me off and kept asking me to have a seat. In panicked andI beg her to listen to me and that is when she tells me if I don't want to wait I can leave. I again just trying to explain and then I am threatened with security.I sat down frightened ,waited 3 hours till finally called in for ecg, waited another 2 hours to be seen by a doctor who ordered a CT.The attending doctor and other nurses (except the triage nurse who tried to give me a lecture about the receptionist)who have seen me where amazing, compassionate and friendly. But this receptionist nurse is definitely in the wrong profession. No empathy or compassion. Threats patients like cattle.
Mehdi Fahimrad
Mehdi Fahimrad: Really sad for this kind of health care system very very slowThere is really lack of doctor to take care of patient here .I sad for who is really has bad sickness.
Elaheh Akbari
Elaheh Akbari: Horrible hospital. Not good training staffNurse didn’t know how to work with Covid kitWaiting long than expectedI prefer to die but not to go richmond hospital anymore
Nezaroo Best
Nezaroo Best: All due respect to the staff in the hospital, especially the CT department, they are very wonderful
stef
stef: Terrible service in emergency. Waited for over 4.5 hours in pain after being admitted and triaged by a condescending nurse, and in the end decided to leave without seeing a doctor about my condition, and wait for a drop in clinic to open. No dignity, privacy nor compassion from any of the staff there. Was in the middle of the night and wasn’t very busy. All they offered was a Tylenol and told me I wasn’t going to die. Pathetic!
Zoro The Pirate Hunter
Zoro The Pirate Hunter: I rate this hospital 3/5, because in the positive part, they provide a first class experience in their Birth Center Unit. But I observed that when you are not pregnant or for other reason, and you have walked-in through their Emergency Room, the quality of their service is very slow and some nurses are not that compassionate enough to help their patients.
faustina mambwere
faustina mambwere: Our experience at the birth centre was amazing. I’m glad I gave birth at this hospital, staff are professional, friendly and supportive. From the doctors who delivered our baby to kitchen staff. Special mention to doctor Lou, doctor Lister and nurse Deborah. We appreciate the work that you all are doing.
Lili Reichert
Lili Reichert: The late-stage cancer care here is extremely poor, the nurses are cold-blooded, and the nurses mentally and physically abuse the patients! Make dying patients more miserable! This is the cruelest thing I have ever seen in my life! Many female nurses are very lazy and have a bad attitude! The cancer care nurses here are callous and inhumane!

Vancouver Coastal Health: what do users think?
Sarah Nickerson
Sarah Nickerson: Vancouver Coastal Health coordinated my father's team of palliative care givers. They provided professional, compassionate care to us in our home, and worked tirelessly to make sure that all the different aspects of my father's care were seamless and of the highest quality. Every single member of their team went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed (and many things we didn't even know we needed). I wish I could give them a rating of higher than five stars.

BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre: what do users think?
Steve Kasica
Steve Kasica: Both of our kids were delivered here, 10/10 would recommend again.
Bonkowskiart
Bonkowskiart: The staff are excellent and most of the facility seems nice but SWEET BABY MOSES! The arbutus wing is trash. 3rd world hospital conditions. Apparently at this hospital 70 % of births here are done by c-section those who endure that hardship go to a recovery ward in the tiniest rooms all ghetto trashed with violent toilets. New father's like me have to sleep on the floor and some of the rooms have windows into hallways?? Please rebuild this wing.
Samantha McIntosh
Samantha McIntosh: I had a procedure done here recently and the staff in the surgical unit were amazing. I was an anxious mess and they were all so friendly and made me feel so at ease. I’ve never seen a group of staff so calm that treat you like a human and not just a patient they need to get in and out. They also made sure I had the right next steps and medications I needed to be as pain-free as possible. I have absolutely zero complaints.
Gabrielle Cholette
Gabrielle Cholette: The nursing staff is incredibly supportive and attentive. They were kind and informative. The Dr. was effective and very good at his job but a little bit cold. Overall, would highly recommend this clinic to other women.
mafe garmon
mafe garmon: Kind Emergency staff , doctor, nurses and triage. Thanks

OneFiveThreeSixTwoFour VR6
OneFiveThreeSixTwoFour VR6: Wonderful place to give birth however I've had 2 bad experiences during my first and third birth. I don't want to sound sexist but the first lady who was trying to give me an epidural in 2008, told me to sit still and shut up or she wont be able to give the epidural.. I was shaking in fear as it was my first birth at just 20 years old... the nurse handling my premature baby was very rough... very bad experience. 3rd birth in 2020, the doctor on call which was also a woman, wasn't compassionate at all. She was annoyed... and told me to go home as there was nothing she could do. I had an emergency c section 2 days later...... 1st lady was blonde, nurse was east Indian and the last was Chinese... I never liked Chinese doctors. No compassion or any bedside manners. (I am Chinese so I'm very aware of how our culture is despite what white people say)Anyways, I've held in my experience long enough and I feel much better.
Sergei Lenkov
Sergei Lenkov: I would say first that all the nurses and doctors were very professional and caring and this is the most important thing you are looking for when you and your partner are about to have a baby. Special thanks to nurse Ling for detailed explanation on how to properly do the breastfeeding to my wife! They also gave us an extra day to stay for my wife to recover from unplanned urgent surgery - made a difference. She was also provided with food and all necessities for her and our baby. The building itself is in good condition, all the equipment was modern and had everything that might be needed. You can also buy a meal and/or coffee at the cafeteria or buffet if you're hungry. The minor things to improve are a lack of place to sleep for father in the room (had to sleep on mattress on the floor - although I did not care after 24 hours of no sleep), waiting for anesthesia an hour extra cause anesthesiologists were busy and waiting for urgent surgery cause there was another more serious surgery going on (still my wife was constantly checked on her condition)...But all in all, everything went good and our experience was very positive and I would recommend the place for meeting with your baby!
marcos almeida
marcos almeida: My wife arrived at the hospital pregnant (8 weeks), bleeding, and they told us there was no available ultrasound. Guess what? The doctor said:” the ultrasound team will call you through the next week and book a day for you to take the ultrasound.” This is unbelievable and unacceptable! Because she was bleeding on the weekend, we must wait until Monday. I’m wondering how this place which called itself a woman hospital, does not have an ultrasound for pregnant available for emergencies? It's reasonable and more than necessary an improvement for them.
Jasmine Carlson
Jasmine Carlson: I had day surgery today and every single staff member that I interacted with were so so lovely. I have never had such a calm time at the hospital, everyone really helped me not feel anxious in the slightest even having an IV in which is a huge phobia of mine went smoothly and didn’t cause me anxiety like it usually does. There was even a dog that came to say hi beforehand which was so great for calming any anxiety I was having. I had anxiety when I got to the hospital but by the time I went into the OR all of that anxiety was completely gone. 10/10 staff ☺️
Marcia Matchett
Marcia Matchett: The best I have ever been treated and I finally feel Amazing after years of struggling.
Deniz Soykurum Çetin
Deniz Soykurum Çetin: I have had mammograms and biopsies at this hospital. The doctors, operators, nurses, and anyone working here is lovely and caring. They explain everything, they make you comfortable. Best care. Always grateful.
Gail Latowski
Gail Latowski: If you are just getting a Covid test and not pregnant or you don’t work in health care don’t go to this clinic. They will send you to 1290 Homer St. and now you have to pay for the test- $45. or $65. depending on what you are getting.
Megan
Megan: We received OUTSTANDING care, attention and guidance throughout the delivery of our first baby at BC Women's Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Rosengarten, Dr. Wong and all the maternity nurses and support staff. Absolutely fantastic health care teams at this hospital!
Enzo Guo
Enzo Guo: Great Doctors and Nurses, but the tiny parking stall is annoying, almost guaranteed door ding. I got a Tesla and I can tell people are being very careful but however I still got door ding on both side.
David Howell
David Howell: I just wish I could give BC Women's Hospital 10/5 stars. The staff were down right incredible for the birth of our first child. Can't imagine that experience without them.
RobJamie Lee
RobJamie Lee: We had an AMAZING experience delivering at BC Women's. This was our 2nd child but first time delivering at BCW. EVERY nurse we worked with were pleasant and professional. Everything was organized and we felt were were under the best care possible. We were also pleasantly surprised how good of the food was and how we get to pick what we'd like. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to stay at BCW this time. THANK YOU BC Women's and the entire team we are so grateful for you.
Kevin Cooper
Kevin Cooper: My wife had 3 beautiful and healthy babies here and our experiences were absolutely wonderful and perfect. Especially considering babies 2 and 3 were twins! (Thank you, Dr. Blumenthal). Thumbs up!
Muffet
Muffet: born here
Kim J
Kim J: Please investigate well enough for the case, recent accident, the loss of 2 persons, a mom and baby.
Rodolf Bugaci
Rodolf Bugaci: The c-section doctors were excellent and Dr.Lyons with her group were amazing but the nurses at the Arbutus recovery room were horrible. They mad my wife and me feel very uncomfortable. Kate and Jen secretly kept asking my wife regarding her personal life at home and if there is domestic violence when there was no apparent reason to do so. When confronted, the nurse in charge Jen, said that there is no reason for all the interrogation and that it is just standard procedure but it did not feel like standard procedure. My wife does not even want to come to this hospital for future pregnancies. Our stay was uncomfortable and filled with assumptions and accusation. The nurses do not change baby diapers even when wife is alone and still recovering. They did not bathe our baby at all even after 24 hours. The rooms are the worst I have ever seen in my life, no one has come to clean the room, floors are sticky, walls are damaged, very disgusting and dirty. No actual couch or bed for husband to sleep on No hygiene control what so ever. Worst experience ever. Will file a formal complain with the department as well and will be contacting CBC news so that everyone in the lower mainland is aware as well. Whatever you do, never accept to recover in the Arbutus wing.

Beth Doyle: Should be posted on their website no walk ins on weekends.
Hector Gonzales (revhec2r)
Hector Gonzales (revhec2r): My first time to visit UBC hospitalThough that the staff are friendlyBut because im not familiar n the place instead of assisting me a man whise on duty 10/01/22 lift his voice and l feel bothered he is not good in performance sorry to say.
B D
B D: I am forever grateful to Tina in radiology for her kindness, patience and help in sorting things out with my GP. She took the time to explain the process to me. I truly appreciate her knowledge and positive approach in dealing with patients.
Stuart Omsen
Stuart Omsen: I was extremely anxious before my CT Scan. It was comfortable and fast. The staff are extremely friendly and patient. Thank you!
Julia Ottar
Julia Ottar: Terrible service. My GP office can’t reach to schedule ultrasound. No answer coming from faxing them (fax?, really? Are we in 20th century?).Calling them is dead-end. There is no way to reach anybody there. I had to go to the other hospital on other side of the town to get ultrasound service.
Brittany
Brittany: Helpful, kind and caring staff, especially before and during the procedure. The team made my experience very comfortable for an uncomforting x-ray. Thank you so much 🙏
Q orminator
Q orminator: Had a spinal nerve root block injection on 29 March 2022. Relief was immediate and of course of great overall benefit. Many thanks to the doctor, anesthetist, nurses and staff: you have worked your magic again Best wishes - Paul Ormiston
margaret stott
margaret stott: I want to thank the staff at the UBC Department of Radiology Department who recently provided me with a CD of a CScan. There wasn't time to go through the normal requesting process because my doctor’s appointment was in another city and within days. Tina Zorotheos told me everything I needed to know to request an urgent copy. The staff were amazing! Within 2 hours I returned to pick up the CD. Many thanks to Tina and Clara and everyone who helped. I’m very grateful to this wonderful group of professionals!
M Byrne
M Byrne: Amazing staff!
Chris Bentley
Chris Bentley: Refused care because I didn't have a requisition from my doctor. That may be policy, but a poor one at that, and a tribute to bureaucratic nonsense. If I'd shown up with my leg obviously shattered, what then? Too bad because you don't have a requisition, I guess
Kirsten Eve
Kirsten Eve: TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN NEVER REACH THEM!
Mona Khorshidfar
Mona Khorshidfar: Today I had my HSG at UBC hospital! Great staff! Reception and nurses! Dr. Murray, radiologist, has performed the procedure! It was an excellent experience! I was afraid before seeing him! He was professional and explained each step for me! I feel great now, after 6 hours of the test!
Kevin Yu
Kevin Yu: Worst department ever. Phones never work in that department. Impossible to talk to someone. They had to rechedule our appointment because a technician is sick. We had waited a month for the appointment and now we have to wait another month. Ridiculous system as we are taking the punishment of other peoples mistake.
maryam tashakor
maryam tashakor: Really frustrating staff; I’m trying to book a test with them for couple of months; they never answer the call or return the voice messages. I finally got someone on phone this month, and her awful service end up with saying no spots available after 3 days of my phone calls and following up. Every day I heard we call you back while they never did. Such disordered organizations are really frustrating, and it's so sad that this kind of disappointing department is part of the UBC.Asking the supervisor to deal with the issue; we chatted on phone, and he accepted that they got the referral the first day I call. He supposed to deal with that, and get back to me which NEVER happens.
Jennifer Mawby
Jennifer Mawby: Had a procedure done recently at UBC Radiology and the experience was excellent. Almost painless with sedation, the nurse was excellent, doctors had a empathetic manner, were incredibly gentle, and explained both the procedure and the results very well. Very impressed with my experience. Thank you!
