The Gluten Free Epicurean: what do users think?
Lisa Blake: This is by far the best bakery/ gluten free bakery in Vancouver. The staff goes above and beyond and make you feel like a family friend coming over for a snack. I recommend The Gluten Free Epicurean to patients, family and friends who want healthy alternatives but don’t want to miss out on flavour. It doesn’t matter if you are sweet or salty tooth, there are amazing treats for everyone! Thanks for being a neighbourhood staple, and for always having the best treats combined with wonderful people! 💖💖💖💖💖💖 💖
Avi Plays: Always love The Gluten Free Epicurean, it's worth the drive from White Rock to get the Boston Cream donut on Fridays 😍
The Shady Brunch: So happy I found this bakery today. As a celiac it’s so hard to find good tasting baked goods that remind me of my pre-celiac days. Even my non celiac husband loved the peanut butter and sprinkle cookies. I enjoyed the Simpson donut and the birthday cake cupcake. Both were delicious. Will definitely be back.
Rebecca deMelo: Oh. My. God. These donuts are amazing! The cookies, amazing! Also tried there vegan sandwich of the day and that bun was so soft and so good! They also had baguettes! Finally, a GF bakery with soo many dairy free options as well. I will be back!
Rachel Gadd: It's pricey but delicious and the service is great
Marina Mishel: Overpriced, overpriced, overpriced. Asking for tips in addition. Some of the snacks are okeish. Personally, I like the breads there
Julia Murrell: Lovely selection of GF treats!
Josh Akins: Apple fritters ($4.5) and chocolate cookies ($2.95) are great. Decent cake ($4.95). Tasteful choice in music. Location could be better (RIGHT next to a highway). Includes kids toys near entrance!More outlets would be good (our table didn't have any)
Gary Chow: Gluten free bakery that really shines brighter than most others. Scone flavors change daily so call ahead. Muffins, cookies, bread are all excellent for their flavor and un-GF character (not dry, gritty, or dense). Check out the freezer sections for pies, you-bake scones and other treats. Nut free and vegan items, in addition to GF are also available; check the labels or ask.Parking is on the street; there is often space by the park around the corner if there isn't space in front. They currently limit the number of customers in the store to 6 at any given time. Scones can sell out quickly, and they won't take orders over the phone, so get there early.
Erin Taylor: So many choices! The apple fritters are fantastic. This was my first donut in 10 years and I was so impressed by the flavour and texture.Edited to add that the little lemon cookies are melt in your mouth delights. I’m looking for excuses to make the 4 hour trek to Vancouver just to get apple fritters and lemon cookies.
Uli Laue: Great quality and people. The doughnuts are to die for. The Paleo Brownie is very tasty too.
Maria Barbosa: Oh. My. God. I finally found a place where I actually have choices when it comes to GF and DF pastries! Their cranberry and chocolate chip cookie is the best damn cookie I ever had! We tried their gluten free pierogies from the frozen section. Unfortunately the dough didn't cook properly, no matter how long we tried to boil them for. Their chocolate waffle from the frozen section was tasteless..However, I will definitely keep coming back due to the huge selection of pastries and cookies.
Alicia Parker: The best gluten free bakery in Vancouver! I love this place so much.
Zoe Le Good: I love this bakery and shop. Everything is delicious. Their baguettes are fantastic - but very popular and almost always sold out. Just tried their frozen lasagna and WOW. It’s amazing. Staff are really kind and friendly. Really thankful to have such a great gluten free bakery near home.
Thatcher Imboden: This is now my go to GF bakery in Vancouver. Great selection of GF/DF treats. 2/2023 update: this is my favorite Gf bakery on west coast of North America. the jam filled donut was next level (light glazing, yeasted-style donut). The lemon bar was also punchy in flavor and smooth in texture. I’m not normally a fruity dessert guy, but these were the highlights. Also had carrot cake (solid choice, but not mouth dropping) and the cinnamon roll (very good, a little denser than I’d prefer). This is a destination-worthy bakery, for sure.
April I: I finally tasted their pastries lol.Since they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. I went there on a Saturday. When I got there I needed to take some time to look at the options since there are so many to choose from.I found that each pastry has it's own rich flavor.I also tried their boston cream donut. It was good but I could have tasted more boston cream. It was good experience.
Jessa: By far my very favorite place for gluten free food in the city. Many tasty options and very friendly helpful staff
Katie Anderson: The apple fritters, Boston creams, and croissants are to die for! I wish I lived closer so I could get my favorites more often!
Linda H: Sooo many great options! Was a celiacs dream, but sadly the desserts were definitely on the super sweet side. The savory sandwiches and pizzas were delicious!
Lola P.: Obsessed!! Their gluten free range is incredible. I went there everyday when I was in Vancouver. Highly recommend trying their donuts, Boston creams, and the oat cookies. Best gluten free bakery in Vancouver!!
Jamie King: I wish I lived closer so I could eat these scones every. DAY!

Mountain Top Wheat & Gluten-Free Bakery: what do users think?
ANNE TIZE: I highly recommend that you pay cash or make sure you check everything carefully.
Jaclyn Smith: I wasn't sure when I first walked in, but the baked goods were very good! I had a Banana Muffin and a Coconut Dream and both were wonderful. The staff was fairly friendly.
Glen S: Great little place for Gluten Free food, their panini in particular was great. I only wish their hours were more accessible, as it's hard to include them in my grocery trips when I also work a 9-5 job!
Michael Henderson: They have great food. I sneak in on occasion to grab snack when I can.
Sasha M: I liked this bakery, but now I'm not impressed.I bought a chicken pot pie, cheesy bread, sausage rolls, paninis, and apple pie. The chicken pot pie was really disappointing, with barely any chicken or vegetables for that fact; we were basically just eating dough. The sausage rolls were very dry, lacked freshness, and were a complete crumbly mess. As for the paninis, they barely had any flavour, and I would not repurchase them. The bread and sweets here are fine, but the quality of the other items seriously needs to be worked on. I spent a good bit of money and was so unimpressed.
Naved Noorani: Had an appointment for a massage this morning and the delicious bakery aroma dragged me to this gem of a store on my way out.I found many delicious GF treats for my wife - Macaroons, Granola bars and a delicious Greek Quiche!
Noelia Fonseca: Great gluten-free bakery in the neighborhood. The variety on pastries is limited but they are good. I love the sugar cookies, muffins and date squares. The bread is the must have here. The texture, flavor, and the quality is incredible. Few breads can compete with this one.I'm used to European bakeries so I asked if they do croissants and baguettes. Very friendly they explained to me that people don't buy them so they stop making them. I totally understand that the short variety is due to the specific taste of the clients.Even though you can not find everything, the quality of their products is very good. I am satisfied as a customer.
Sydney Gass: Best gluten free bread ever
Patricia O'Brien: Has the beat gluten free bread I have found anywhere in BC!
Garth David: We are a ferry away from North van, but Grace was good enough to meet us at her closed shop so my husband could pick up an order of wheat free treats to suite his Fodmap diet.He is so very happy to enjoy cookies & muffins again. He loves the bread, toasted with eggs for breakfast - and had really missed it until Mountaintop!the chocolate biscotti are all gone already - so good!We have already told our gf friends to shop there.Very tasty gf baking and great customer service
Sarah: The smell of this bakery is so inviting in the hallway and inside the bakery! Lots of selection to chose from, but not any freshly baked pastries. When we went, everything was individually wrapped and presumably not baked fresh. The date square and macadamia nut brownie were very small portions (maybe 2inches) and cost over $6. They were decent, and would like to check out bread from here in the future.
Barbara B: The bread and buns are amazing.I freeze and toast to keep fresh. It is hard to justify ever buying store bought bread again! Yum!
Emily Barrieau: I have a gluten, corn, dairy and soy intolerance. And a preference for whole foods and ingredients I can understand... so This makes finding bread products I can buy a serious challenge!I am SO grateful to have found these guys. The search is over, I love this product so much and I feel great eating it. Thank you!!
Jennifer W: I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I wanted to share my experience so that hopefully others avoid my frustration. I went to the bakery today and purchased 2 loaves of "sourdough" bread, a pack of butter tarts and a few other items. I noticed that the bread didn't smell quite right, but I was in a rush and needed to get home. When I arrived home and sliced it, I discovered that it wasn't sourdough it was plain white bread. It does not have the sour fermented flavour or smell that proper sourdough has. I was also disappointed to find that the butter tarts were dry and stale - the sugar filling inside having hardened and crystallized.I called about the issue with the bread mix up and was told that sourdough and white bread are the same, which they are not. I definitely wouldn't go back and would urge you to spend your money elsewhere. Gluten free products are expensive enough as it is, at least you should get what you are paying for.
S: Great food and very friendly.
Vicky Sra: Wonderful chocolate cake!
Melissa Bonner: Very tasty bread! Very friendly staff!I will be buying my bread here from now on!
Eileen McAdam: Lovely place with best customer service ever!
Rick High: We, unfortunately, were unable to get anything here because we didn't have a Canadian credit card. I understand if you don't want to pay the processing fee (since we're American), but we were planning on buying roughly $40 worth of product. At a bakery, that's quite a bit. Additionally, if you don't accept American credit cards, maybe put a sign on your door or let us know before we order. When we weren't able to buy the product, we were treated very rudely and left. It's a shame because everything in the shop looked wonderful and obviously if you need to eat gluten-free, I ASSUME this would be a good place to go since they had a lot of variety.
Jennifer Breckon: Wonderful service and staff
Brieanna Fiander: Great food for on the go. Lots of high sugary stuff, but if gluten is your only issue great options. Nice pies for the holidays.

Delish Gluten Free Bakery: what do users think?
Judy Dee: My go-to spot for gluten free baking - friendly service too. Highly recommend. Close to transit.
x z: nice place, decent food, EXCEPT if like me you have a soy allergy. the staff provide inconsistent information on the soy content of their products and I've had to deal with more than one bout of diarrhea because of it. it appears that at the end of the day, this bakery sees gluten free as a health fad rather than an allergy. if you are avoiding soy, avoid this place.
Aly Madhani: The sourdough bread is the best in the city!!!
Giulia Poli: my mom bought 2 cupcakes and the texture was barely palatable, the red velvet was like a sandy mush texture, as if it wasn’t baked, the chocolate one was… not better. my mom is allergic to both gluten and lactose and there weren’t a lot of options for her to choose from so that was also disappointing. we were looking for a gf bakery that was close to us but no good so far :( i’m honestly hoping we got a bad batch or something because the texture was truly off putting and it barely tasted like anything
Amanda Schreiber: I have been celiac now for 9 years and I would say this is the best Gluten Free bakery I have gone to.
Ads: I got a 'To Good to Go' app' haul of goodies, and boy did I get a surprise! A vegan, gluten-free-loaded pastry army equipped to take down anyone, fantastic value and great, fresh products made from natural, wholesome and minimum ingredients. I managed to snag some Vegan Apple Cinnamon Crumble Muffins & Breakfast Cookies.A well decorated, modernistic and clean bakery with extremely quirky and edgy food ideas offering something awesome for everyone, I love this place its dope! A real home baking style vibe, the owner puts a huge amount of effort and love into this business which is a testament to how super yummy these muffins and cookies are.Support local businesses!
Darcy sangster: Excellent customer service/staff. Muffins excellent. Pastry as well.
Sarah Watson: Highly recommend!!! Their products are literally delish and the staff is so friendly. I got the cinnamon bun, cinnamon apple muffin, sourdough bread and chocolate chip cookie and all are so yummy!!! And they have GF perogies!
Heather Harland: Best GF Honey Crullers, Sourdough bread & Garlic toast!
Steve: The food is great, but it closes early too often. Best to call ahead to check if they're open
Nelson Mah: Amazing staff. The woman who teaches and works here as a summer job was fantastic. She gave great recommendations on gluten and dairy free options.Expensive and delicious
Elizabeth Brown: Delicious gluten-free food with both a sweet and savory selection of fresh and frozen deliciousness
Amanda Bouchard: Everything is so yummy from sourdough bread to muffins and scones
Sign Me Up Stef: Love this place.
J Toor: Love this bakery! Everything is gluten free and you can get a variety of vegan items too. Definitely worth checking out the location in Van or in Coquitlam.
Ross McCutcheon: Another Best for Vancouver. Gluten free bread that will keep you coming back for more. The look and taste of traditional bread. And don't get me started on the peanut butter cookies.
Alaleh Black: I bought a lot of stuff here!! Love it!!
Lyndsey May: Amazing fresh pastries, pastas and breads! I am so thankful we have you guys in our Hastings sunrise community!
Samantha Johanson: SO GOOOD 🍪 🥖 🍰 and tons of vegan stuff too! Absolutely love this bakery, and a line up out the door always is very telling of how good it is 😍
MrKaozhq: We just bought 2 chocolate Vegan cupcakes from this bakery. They were seriously the worst vegan cupcakes I’ve eaten, and I’ve eater some bad ones.I’m not sure if they’re doing any quality control or taste testing themselves but they shouldn’t be selling that to people. icing was bland and the cupcake was dense and tasteless
brian danay: Shop is adorable, the spread is gorgeous, very clean!Bought a couple items: the chocolate cupcake, my wife absolutely loved. Also bought a Cherry Square which looked absolutely lovely, but found that the base was, a bit odd. It was very dense, the texture of a powder held together with honey but without baking into a base. It wasn't bad, just unexpected, and would have preferred if the base was made more like the topping. Finally, Garlic Bread from the freezer. The texture was excellent, and it toasted up great, tasted delicious too; except that only one side of the Garlic Bread was "garlic buttered". For the price (approximately $8-9) would have appreciated both sides covered, as garlic bread is usually prepared and served on the half.Prices were fair, and a good selection of non-sweet items and sweet items, especially for catering to gluten/wheat free standards. Staff was quick and polite.

Purebread: what do users think?
Nicola Parker: Purebread is the best bakery in town (in the lower mainland even) hands-down and have THE best selection of goods. Went in today to pick up a birthday treat and the staff were super lovely in dealing with a minor mixup with the order, so kudos to the service team as well!
vida piri: Such a cute bakery serving fresh paste
I Hadiputra: The store is very pretty
victoria vid: Went there multiple times during our stay in Vancouver! Everything was fresh and tasty especially the cakes and brioches. The selection was always different. Highly recommend checking it out!
Shannon: The staff are friendly and helpful. The pastries are tasty. There are nice bar seats in the windows for people and dog watching. I saw a dog carry his owners umbrella. Very good boy.
박현진: 직원분도 친절하고 맛있었어요 ! 아침으로 간단하게 사서 길먹하기도 좋았아요
Victoria Spiterie: This is the best dessert bakery I've ever visited in my life, to date. It's truly a unique experience— being overwhelmed by the extensive and diverse selection laid out before you + the atmosphere is so warm, fun, and friendly. I personally love decadent sweets, this place does it right. We tried three different items on two separate occasions and both experiences exceeded our expectations.
Gregoria G: Delicious and fresh! 😋👌
Kaley Merritt: This is one of my favourite bakeries in downtown Vancouver. They have a large selection of freshly baked goods. They have even have a good selection of vegan items. The desserts are so delicious and very well made. Everything I have tried has been SO good. If your looking for something sweet and delicious this place is excellent.
Topkwon: While looking around the city, I went to a nearby coffee shop, and it was different and delicious because there were several types of bread.시내 구경하면서 근처 커피집을 찾아 갔었는데 여러 종류의 빵이 있어 색달랐고 맛있었습니다.
Raz: Lots of optionsNice ambiance
Cyrus Lee: Working my way through their offerings, but you can bet every single thing is delicious! Love their chocolate almond croissants, brownies, and savoury scones. This is the best Purebread location simply because their staff is so sweet and friendly.
Ghazal: Amazing bakery with lots of goodies to try! Everything looks super delicious here and the cafe has lots of room for you to sit and get some work done or to hang out with friends and family and enjoy your time off.I got a latte and the raspberry cheesecake brownie for ~$10. Both were pretty good. I’m looking forward to trying other treats here!
l luong: Some delicious products, but it is hidden behind the abundant options which are hit or miss.
Manolli: Probably one of the best bakeries I’ve visited in Vancouver. We tried the scones and were not disappointed. Staff is friendly and accommodating - will definitely be back :)
shivani agarwal: Just happened to stumble across this place while strolling and I had the bestttt cookie of my life so far. Got a chocolate rosemary sea salt cookie and what burst of flavors it was with just the right amount of sweet and not overwhelming. Also what made it's fan was it's texture. It just crumbles when you take a bite and melts in your mouth. I will definitely try out more next time I am there. What a gem. The staff is friendly and the amount of options they had is crazy incredible.
Gulnur Sultanova: Good desserts
Lisa Voigt: I have not visited this bakery, but I have eaten many of their treats and they are incredible. 10/10 baked goods, so decadent.
Tracey Mi: A variety of pastries choices, but both coffee and bread taste okay :/
jennialame: very cozy vibe and friendly staff, had a lemon loaf which was way too sour for me, but everyone else in my party enjoyed what they got. good coffee!
