Raintown Dog Training: what do users think?
Ruth Susanne: excellent dog trainingfriendly and knowledgeable and fun
TheDeadb3ar: The puppy plays are really good. You can even sneak out some advice from the trainer's without needing to be in their classes (we wanted to be in their classes, but they were all booked)
Jayne Cassidy: Moose and I really enjoyed our experience at Puppy Kindergarten with Bern and Sara!Moose is my first pup and I didn't know where to start when it came to training him. Raintown was recommended by a friend of a friend and I couldn't be happier that we chose to sign up with them! Bern and Sara made training Moose fun and way less intimidating. We can't wait to come back for their Basic Manners class!
Shanique Kelly: I'm so grateful I found Raintown Dog Training! We took the Basic Manners class with your 1 year old dog and had such a wonderful experience. Our teachers were kind, welcoming, intelligent and encouraging. I left feeling more connected with my dog and I'm excited to take more classes with Raintown in the future.
Ash Hayes: My partner and I are first time puppy parents and we can't thank Raintown enough for all the support, validation, care and help they have given to not just our puppy but also to us. Having a space where we can ask questions, feel heard, understand our pups body langue and learn new skills and tricks to help handle the moodiest of puppies has been such a comfort. We look forward to our weekly puppy classes almost as much (if not more) than our dog herself. Thank you to the whole team for helping us along the way, seriously, we love you!- ash, amii & Brew
Alex McHardy: Our dog Eugene attended the Basic Manners Class with Bern, Sara and Rhiannon. The whole team really cares about each dog and keep the classes fun and engaging for the dogs and humans! We can’t wait to come back for tricks classes.
Michelle Paymar: Excellent trainers in a fun environment. Highly recommended!
Simon Luk: We had a really great experience with the Basic Manners course at Raintown Dog Training. Our trainers Kris and Bern displayed a lot of practical and theoretical experience and provided the right level of education to help me develop my own training skills. As much as the course is about helping my pup develop her skills (which she did), it was also very useful for me to learn about my own training habits. Kris and Bern were very kind and patient and made sure that our questions were addressed - even staying a bit late to listen and offer advice. Great experience and a great foundation for anyone new to training or with a new pup. Thank you!!
Tyler Yestal: Great group of people that run the training. We have been having a blast at the puppy classes and are already looking to do the next round of training. Highly recommend
Jenny Xiao: Olive and I attended the puppy socials at Raintown. They were such an amazing experience both for my personal learning about dog body language and Olive’s socialization during the key socialization period. We also did private 1-1 sessions with Bern. We focused mainly on our issues with LLW, engage-disengage, and recall. Bern was amazing at giving us different pattern games to practice and strategies to manage all of Olive’s puppy energy and excitement when she is outdoors. She was so kind, patient, understanding, supportive, and knowledgeable. Bern has been instrumental in Olive and I’s learning journey together and I can’t recommend Raintown and Bern enough!
Thomas Urquhart: During our 1:1 session, Kris was able to provide me with valuable information and techniques to help Eleanor improve with pulling and staying focused on walks (e.g. leaving items alone). We also took the 'Basic Manners' group class that left us with some useful tricks (e.g. emergency recall; calm greetings (although Eleanor is anything but calm); sit, stay, down; and 'go to mat'). I'd highly recommend Kris and Raintown Dog Training for their science-based positive enforcement approach. Because of this work, Eleanor is a much more 'behaved' and enjoyable puppy.
Brooke Allen: I can't say enough good things about Kris and Raintown Dog Training! Rosie did Puppy Kindergarten + Basic Manners; both were incredibly helpful and Rosie learned a lot and it socialized her with other people and puppies. So, when Rosie was 1 yr. she stopped walking from a series of traumatic events outside, I knew exactly who to email :D 3 private lessons later, Rosie was walking! Kris was amazing and goes above and beyond. Moreover, it's money well spent. I invested in my dog's happiness and her health and development. Now she doesn't just model her cool gear, she walks in it! 10 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Alcina Lam: A great place to learn about training. I felt that it wasn't just my dog learning; I also learned to be better and cleaner with commands. They use positive reinforcement and it's the main practice. They don't pressure puppies to be social butterflies. My little Toki started super shy, but every drop in changed her demeanor. Don't feel pressured or discouraged if you have a shy pup! You will see a change. I know I did. Toki literally runs inside for class now haha. I recommend their puppy kindergarten and puppy socials for any puppy owners 🙂
Susan Reznek: My 11 year old Standard Poodle, Zoey and I loved Kris' exuberant personality and her methodical approach to solving a communication issue we were having. Specifically, I needed Kris to train ME so that I could train Zoey to perform a particular behaviour. Kris is proof that an older dog AND an older owner can have lots of fun and an improved relationship.
Andrew Nobles: We did a training class with Raintown. They're very knowledgeable and helpful and we learned so much from them. Their classes are also very friendly and fun for dogs and humans. We're excited to take more classes with them
Miki Eslake: Raintown creates such a positive, welcoming environment for both people and dogs. They explain theory really well and are happy to answer all questions - my only wish is that they had more class options to sign up for.
Kevin Condy: We brought our timid four month old rescue pup Ollie to Rain Town and could not be happier with our experience. We have since completed two classes. For Ollie, Rain Town has been instrumental in growing his confidence and developing good behaviors with people and dogs. We now have the tools we need to keep our pup safe, happy, and healthy.Bernadette and Kris are fun and engaging teachers who care deeply about dogs and I can't recommend them enough!
Genoa Vartell: 1:1 Personal Training with Bernadette for my puppy (and me) was essential to getting us off to the right start. Bernadette was so good an educating me and sending me fabulous resources. I would need to write pages to outline the benefits we received. I highly recommend working with her.
Emily Logan: My puppy and I signed up for puppy kindergarten. We both thoroughly enjoyed the 5 classes and learned a lot. Sara and Bern were excellent and the classes were extremely efficient and organized. Also the space they use for the classes is so clean! They take cleanliness seriously, which I have not seen at some other places. I highly recommend Raintown Dog Training! Jaz and I will join Basic Manners in October!
Julia Lin: We had so much fun learning and playing at Puppy Kindergarten! The classes are structured with a great balance of play time with other pups and training that can easily be applied at home. Bern & Sara were very attentive, knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended!
Lyndsay Sklenka: I have done two programs now with Raintown - puppy kindergarten and just completed basic manners. With my new pup being the first dog I ever had - I really benefited from all the info, knowledge and community that Raintown strives for. I have learned lots of valuable information that really helps me figure out training as as whole. If you are needing a group class - look no further!

River District Dog Training: what do users think?
Alannah Bowes: I'm so grateful to Maraysha for the incredible adaptability she brought to her work with us and Pickle. We started working with Maraysha fairly quickly after graduating from a puppy class when it was clear that Pickle was struggling with some very big emotions and frustrated reactivity. We truly wouldn't have been able to get through those first months without her help. We also appreciate all the different tiers of private training that are offered, as this allowed us to start with 1 program and change our subscription as we went through various phases in training and behaviour management to best meet our needs. Maraysha helped navigate us, and adapted our training, through multiple health issues and process of finding the correct medications for Pickle after which we were able to do a few months of focused training where Pickle made SO much progress in her reactivity and general ability to settle and manage her emotions. It's been almost 6 months since we set off on our own and while we've still had to overcome more health issues which effected Pickle's behaviour it's been so much easier to navigate given the strong foundation of training that Maraysha provided for us. I would absolutely go back to Maraysha for training on other specific goals and am looking forward to trying new offerings such as the nose work course!
Crystal: I cannot say enough positive things about Holly at Honourable Hounds. From the very beginning, she was incredibly helpful and supportive. Before committing to anything, Holly took the time to speak with me over the phone and answer all of my questions, which helped me feel confident in moving forward. We adopted a dog who had a number of issues, including body handling, reactivity to other dogs, reactivity to noise, resourcing guarding, food aggression, and separation anxiety. Holly was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, and she worked with us to develop a training plan for each issue. She provided us with detailed handouts and showed us in person how to train our dog. We also got a really good recommendation for a behavioural vet from her. While we're still working through these issues, we're already seeing positive changes in our dog's behaviour. We're so grateful for Holly's expertise and guidance, and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable dog trainer.
Chantal S.: Holly is an amazing teacher. We have done both private and group classes and I’ve learnt so much. I’ve seen such a big change in my puppy after applying the techniques she’s taught me. I would highly recommend Honourable Hounds!
Leana Santos: Honourable Hound and their trainer, Holly, have been exceptional in helping my dog Porter overcome anxiety and resource guarding issues. Holly is a knowledgeable expert who demonstrates a deep understanding of dog behavior, and Porter's behavior has significantly improved since working with her.Holly provides tools and techniques to manage Porter's anxiety and prevent resource guarding behaviors, and she is always available to answer questions and provide support. Honourable Hound's commitment to positive reinforcement training is admirable, and Holly's approach focuses on rewarding positive behavior and building a strong bond between dog and owner.Overall, I highly recommend Honourable Hound and Holly for top-quality dog training. Their expertise, dedication, and commitment to positive reinforcement make them a standout in their field. Thank you, Honourable Hound and Holly, for all that you do!
Emma Chen: I’m very happy I joined the puppy class. It’s a great opportunity for my puppy to socialize and play. Maraysha is patient, knowledgeable, and experienced. She has a deep understanding of dog behaviors. She gave us very clear and easy to follow guidances when we need to train our puppies at home. Definitely will recommend them to anyone who needs help with dog training.
Amanda: The group puppy classes were great for socialization and the whole team was super patient and supportive. They create a really safe environment and provide a lot of 1-on-1 time and opportunities for Q&A's. Thank you to the whole team : ) Look forward to signing up for future classes!
Marissa M: I would highly recommend Honourable Hound to anyone looking for dog training. We just completed the 5-week leash manners and recall training course. We loved that the class was run efficiently, they packed a lot of information in an hour but it didn't feel overwhelming. The small class size meant there was ample opportunity to practice drills, ask questions, get instructor feedback, etc. My dog had big improvements after the second class. Thank you Holly and Maraysha!
Charmaine Tsang: Part dog whisperer, part dog owner therapist, Holly at Honourable Hound is a highly skilled dog trainer and a wonderful human being. My vet and several other dog trainers/walkers highly recommended Holly and they were not wrong.I worked with her and my dog over the course of 9 months and we have made great improvements. Before the training, I was very sad and concerned that I would have to give away my dog due to his barking issues but Holly showed me positive, healthy ways to diminish the barking. If you are looking for a dog trainer, my advice is not to waste your money on other less expensive trainers (like I did). Just take the plunge with Holly at Honourable Hound. It is not cheap but she changed my life, and drastically improved my dog’s well being too. We are so grateful. Thank you Holly! 🐶❤️
Laura Sosner: Really lovely instructors. They explain things thoroughly, the training is all about positive reinforcement, and they were incredibly patient and helpful with our rambunctious dog. Looking forward to returning for more lessons!
Ainslie Kwan: It is such a pleasure to be in class with Holly and her team. Lots of helpful information and they are always willing to answer any question you have.
Justinne R: We signed up with Holly because we were encouraged by what others have said about her positive and punish-free approach. Our pup Raja has been reactive and has made our walks and daily living in downtown Vancouver quite stressful. However, Holly helped us tremendously. She is patient, reliable, and easygoing. She was open with us on what could possibly be triggering Raja, and taught us ways to help him be more comfortable and confident. It turns out Raja was quite stressed out and overstimulated a lot of the times. Holly answered as many questions as possible with us, and we did not run out of questions as first-time dog owners lol.Holly made us feel comfortable and supported. She gave us practical and customized tips on how to make our relationship with Raja better, and we use the training daily. We have more work to do with Raja (so Holly - stay tuned!), but we are in such a better place than where we started. Life changer, for sure. Thanks Holly for your care, attention to detail, and expertise. You are the true dog whisperer!!!
Sophia Lai: We signed up for the puppy class for our Staffy pup, Dayzi, and it was wonderful! Dayzi loved all the playtime she got with the other pups! It was important to us that she had a safe and controlled space to socialize with other dogs and we're very happy with the experience that River District Dog Training provided. Holly and Maraysha are fantastic at what they do! Not only are they great with all the pups, but they are very patient with us humans too in teaching us how to be good leaders to our growing fur baby. They are highly skilled and knowledgable about dog behaviour. They truly support the importance of building trust and a strong bond between you and your pup and setting us all up for success! We love that the classes are small in size as this gives each pup some one-on-one time which we absolutely appreciate. We're happy that they now have drop-in puppy parties so that Dayzi can come back to play with more puppy friends and see her favourite trainers (aka her Sunday aunties)! We highly recommend River District Dog Training!
Megan Upper: They’re amazing trainers and have the best advice for issues relating to puppy behaviours.
Jisue Shin: This is a long overdue review. Holly is incredibly patient, understanding, and one of the best trainers I have had the pleasure of working together. My husband and I have been seeing Holly for a little over a yr now. We went through private package sessions, online sessions, and currently going through our monthly training subscription. I love our monthly training program because we can receive continuous support. I appreciate how she doesn’t make you or your dog feel judged and guides you with knowledge so you can build a better relationship with your dog.My dog, Bingsoo, has his own quirks but he has made great progress with us, which wouldn’t have been possible without Holly’s help! After every session, Holly makes us feel understood and confident. It amazes me every time how Holly can understand Bingsoo’s perspective right away and personalizes the training session to fit his needs. We truly appreciate Holly’s help, as we would have been totally lost without her.
Mollie Connor: Holly was great with our dog. First time dog owners and we got a rescue pup, she was very shy and fearful for the first few months in our home. We booked a pack of three classes with Holly to get some tips for how to start training the dog. Holly taught us how to build our dog's confidence and with only three classes we saw our little pup start to come out of her shell and be more curious and social. It's been a rewarding experience and I highly recommend Holly's services to anyone with doubts or questions about their dog's behavior.
Elaine Lau: We started working with Holly when Bella was just over a year old. Bella is a unique dog with some possible neurological issues and Holly was great in helping us try to understand what Bella was telling us. We went from unmanageable barking at all times in the day (including walks!) to only a few barks here and there. Holly is also great in training Bella with our daughter who is 10 and gave her exercises to work on help keep Bella calm. High recommend Holly and River District Dog Training! 🙌
Caroline Ming: Very friendly trainer. Clear instructions. For us very useful tips and helpful feedback. When necessary, she gave us one to one guidance.
Laura Catrinella Wijaya (Laura): Holly has helped us understand our dog's (Peanut) reactive behavior. And how to handle any kinds of situations that we may face in the future. We are still learning every day, and he has shown so much improvement compared to before we met Holly. We still have a long way to go, but at least now we know how to help Peanut be the happiest Weiner dog and enjoy his walks :D Thank you!
Olivia Foster: My experience with Holly and Maraysha was wonderful! I reached out to them for help with building confidence and leash walking skills for my newly adopted rescue Luna. The intake session really showed me that they wanted to understand Luna's personality, history, and routine in order to get the best results for her. As they asked me about Luna's care I never felt that I was being critiqued, which can be a real point of anxiety for a new pet parent. I appreciated that they set clear and realistic expectations for what the training sessions could achieve. The in-person sessions were great and felt very productive. Maraysha also stepped up to ask another dog owner for space when Luna needed it and that really stood out to me.In our few sessions they taught Luna and I a lot of valuable skills. I know both of us would be happy to work with them again!
Brenda Martin: Holly was very informative, kind and patient. She had a lot of useful information for my dog and I look forward to future sessions with her.
Andrea Laird: So much valuable information. Maraysha has been a great help with shaping our puppy. We look forward to doing more learning and teaching.

K-9 Best Behaviour Dog Training: what do users think?
Julianne Johnson: We had a good time with Serena and the other dogs!
Ravneet Grewal: Serena is a great trainer! Outdoor classes in various locations with other dogs really helped socialize my puppy to different environments as well as dogs. The classes were super helpful in teaching me how to teach my puppy and my puppy loved her !
viviane franson: Serena has been a part of both of our puppies training journey and has helped us with discipline and obedience. Serena has always been willing and available to provide feedback to us when we had questions. We definitely recommend Serena to any dog owners!
Pooja Bhat: Highly recommend Serena to all the new pup parents. We signed up our pup, Cashew, into her Puppy Prodigy Program (6 months program) when he was 8 weeks old. We could not be happier with the progress he made with socialization and obedience through training with Serena. We loved that her classes run, rain or shine, outdoors instead of a confined indoor space. She was always available to answer our endless questions and helped us with all the issues we were encountering with him. We'll certainly return for next level training classes :)
Rottn K9: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,Value
Jimin Rhim: Our miniature poodle Tori took Serena's class this spring. Serena's classes helped us to better communicate with Tori. Her classes were easy to follow and practical and she was extremely patient during the classes and answered all the questions we had. Thank you Serena.
Jay Kiew: Imagine getting a puppy in May 2020…only to realize that most dog trainers had stopped working due to the pandemic, despite (at that time) easing restrictions.Serena has been a God-send for our pup (@brooklyntheshibainu), as we’ve practiced a) socializing despite social distancing and b) reinforcement of obedient commands. As a result, Brooklyn has been obedient and easy to work with as he continues to grow! It’s super clear that Serena prioritizes doing the right thing for the dogs, as she gives out tons of advice whenever we need it.Thanks for all you do Serena!
Victoria Butterfield: Serena is nothing short of genius! Her initial consultation session with us and our very stressed and reactive rescue Gidget was thorough, personalized and insightful, and she was extremely helpful in getting us started on some basics. A few weeks later we started attending her group class each Saturday, and those classes (along with regular practice at home, of course) made a world of difference. Serena has a limitless repertoire of ideas and strategies and every week we are surprised with new challenges to work on. She develops a personalized bond with each dog in the class, keeps a close eye on everyone to ensure safety for all, brings her own dog/s to class to serve as role models, and responds quickly if we text her any question or concern between classes. The leveled classes are in a different park each week, with a different lesson focus each time, and every few weeks the classes meet together to practice a group walk. Being around any other dogs at all was initially very stressful for Gidget and would cause her to be reactive and hard to control, but Serena was always very helpful and reassuring, and ensured the rest of the class respected Gidget’s need for space. As a result of practicing with Serena each week and following through on those strategies between classes, Gidget can now co-exist in the same room as our cats, can pass other dogs on a walk without going into a frenzy and has even developed the trust to interact and play with the other dogs in her class. These changes in behaviour would not have happened without the guidance and support of Serena and we cannot recommend her enough.
Aroash Solomon: Serena is AMAZING. If you have a dog and you’re wiling to put in the work, don’t question it and contact her. I cannot recommend it enough.A bit about us: our dog is a timid, easily scared rescue pup. She has some issues with aggression towards other dogs, as well as leash pulling. In times of fear we would find that nothing would make her listen to us. We tried other training in the past, but found it to be unrealistic - she’s a very good dog in the home and in safe, familiar scenarios and felt nothing was sticking when we then took her out into the real world.I was concerned about taking our to a group training environment, in fear that she would be problematic for other dogs. Serena reassured me from the start that it’s a controlled environment and the exposure would be good for my dog. She was absolutely right!Serena is super realistic in her approach - you’re not training for hypothetical scenarios or doing things you wouldn’t need at home. You’re training to ensure you and your dog understand each other more, and teaching them about the benefits of paying attention to YOU and not other dogs/people/cyclists/you name it. You’re in different surroundings every week with changing groups of people and dogs, just like the real world. Serena’s classes aren’t a place where you let your dog off leash to “socialize” and chat to other owners. They’re a place where you have to be fully focused, engaged and giving your dog 110% of your energy. The connection we have built with our dog which we will continue to work has rewarded us ten fold - our dog is so much more confident, relaxed and is becoming less reactive. We love Serena, and our dog loves Serena’s treats - hah!
Kelsey K: I would HIGHLY recommend K9 best behavour! Serena is not only a fantastic dog trainer, but an incredible lady who genuinely cares for her clients and their dogs. Her classes are informative, interactive and fun!
Jolene Johnson: I have edited my review to indicate 4 stars. I would have given 5 however, I did not get any communication from the owner with respect to my telephone voicemail messages. My emails bounce on her website. I understand the owner is very busy, however, that being stated I had initially posted my review as I was concerned that something had happened to her, as typically businesses do not just not cash a cheque when someone signs up for classes and not contact the customer. I understand now that the business owner is busy.
Karla Guerrero: Bringing home your first baby and second baby, living with 3 existing fur babies was exciting and at the same time worry-some, my male Maltese was a bit aggressive and stubborn, loving boy with his people just don’t make him do what he doesn’t want to do, Serena taught us how to show him we were the pack leaders and he became a much happier boy by simply applying some house rules and consistency no matter how cute they are, my little 5lbs Maltese girl had separation anxiety and fear aggression, Serena helped us get better to the point my little girl didn’t suffer from her separation by teaching us how to work with her and educating us how important is do your homework and exercises with them. She helped us become a healthier pack.Serena is now helping with our GSD teaching us how to work with a strong breed and seeing him become a handsome calm and loving boy is just amazing my big lap dog. I am fully satisfied and thankful with the amount of help and understanding she has for each individual dog and their needs.Thank you for never giving up on our pack and teaching us how to be a fair and good pack leader.
Chris J: We have worked with a Serena for 6 months. She was very helpful, especially with the private sessions. On Saturdays the group sessions were also beneficial for training our dog and socializing.I would highly recommend.
Darryll Hobson: Serena knows her stuff! We've learned so much about dog psychology and training through her classes and private lessons. Serena was recommended to us, and now we recommend her to others.
Teresa Marchetti: Serena is a great dog trainer! All of the pups in her classes love and respect her. She knows how to work with them all in a caring but firm manner. So glad my dog and I have had the opportunity to train with her. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for training from puppy and up.
Sebastian Fake: Serena knows dogs. We love Serena, she is more than a dog trainer to us, she really cares about your dog and has become a good friend to us and our dog. If you're looking for someone to train your dog for you, look elsewhere. If you'd like to learn how to train your own dog and create a strong bond with your pup, Serena will be great help for you. Not to mention, if you'd like your dog to socialize with other dogs you'd be hard pressed to find somewhere better to go. Group classes are outdoors and in a wide variety of places in Burnaby.
Alan Chou: Incredible dog lover and absolute amazing trainer. Serena is responsible, skillful and passionate. Class time is well informed and class is always challenging and fun. My Rotty Rain has been with Serena since she was 4 months old, and has become a confident and wonderful companion. Rain adores Serena and we feel so blessed that we can meet someone who can love Rain as much as we do. As an amateur dog owner, Serena patiently guides us to handle Rain's obedience training. My Rotty has grown into an lovable teddy bear and my wife and I can become a suitable handler all due to Serena's assistance. We will absolutely recommend her to anyone!!!
ERIC HUANG: We and of course my lovely 15-month-old golden love Serena. Her class is engaging, practical and easy to follow. She offers tons of useful training skills in class, and addresses any questions /concerns after class, which makes new parents like us worry-free. We have seen my pup's obedience improved over time (9 months) and we can see the benefits of training with her in the long-run.
Nicole Rogers: We’ve been with Serena for about 2 1/2 years and the experience has been amazing. She is incredibly generous with her time and truly dedicated to her clients—especially the four-legged ones! I’ve never owned a dog before and had no idea how much the regular classes would build the connection and bond with my first Boston and now our second. Serena is patient and encouraging when you need it but tough when you need that too! I’ve learned so much about my dogs and others as well so I can be confident when we’re around other dogs and be a responsible dog owner.
Michel Pouliot: Outstanding trainer who really understands the dynamics between dogs and their owners and dogs. Serena is a no nonsense trainer who helps us understand dog behaviour and helps us develop the skills we need to have well behaved dogs. She always end up giving more then what we pay for Highly recommend her
Callie Jenkins: Serena is a fantastic trainer and very knowledgeable. Mojito loves her! We’ve been going to her classes for over 2 years and it’s been great. Classes are fun, and you learn a lot, group walks with all the classes are awesome too. Highly recommended!

Bravo Dog Training & Behaviour: what do users think?
Nathan Salomon: Renée is an awesome dog trainer and did a wonderful job helping us train our Bernedoodle Panda! I would highly recommend her puppy kindergarten and private training sessions!
Eryn MacKenzie: I reached out to Renée after dealing with some sudden onset leash reactivity with my Boston terrier. He was a perfectly behaved well socialized little dude until he and I got bit by an off leash dog while he was on leash. Following that he started to get stressed on leash or when other dogs were in our home.Cue me calling Renee for some training assistance. What is so great about Renee is that she came and joined us just on a regular walk so she could observe at first and give feedback. In the end I was really worsening the behaviours and so she gave me training tips for both me and my little dude.Fast forward to living in a condo 2 years later and my dogs leash frustration turned into leash reactivity. I called Renee again and we went out for a walk where she introduced me to marker training. She also encouraged me to just understand and read my dog’s body language and helped me understand when he is over threshold and when to use taught cues like emergency u-turns.It’s been 4 years since we started working with Renee and I couldn’t be more grateful. My dog shows me daily how safe and happy he feels, his reactivity has become greatly reduced with only occasional triggers and best of all my relationship with my dog is stronger than ever.Thank you Renée for giving me all the tools to make Ollie’s life so full. We are so grateful for you.
Rebecca Milman: My reactive doggie and I have been working with Renee and it has been wonderful! It worked very well for us to work virtually from home as he is fearful of strangers and new environments. Renee gave us tools to use in his own space, which helped to get him to a place where we can begin introducing the training in other environments (ie vet visits, public places). We have made so much progress with body handling, leash reactivity, and marker training. Thank you Renee for all your help!
Marina MacDougall: We worked with Renée to help with our dog’s reactivity and it was such a great experience. She’s given us the tools to help us understand his patterns, keep him under threshold, and also how to expand that threshold. We did 3 sessions and have noticed a huge change in his behaviour and confidence. Thanks Renée!
Balen Habeeb: The best 👌👌👌
Barbara Crystal: We adopted a foreign rescue and luckily we were able to get an appointment with Renée fairly quickly because we were quite overwhelmed. I still consider many of the points Renée has raised in our sessions. Most of our sessions were virtual and it’s amazing what we accomplished through video. We now have a well adjusted rescue dog who enjoys her life, we understand her better and continue to see her adapting as she ages. We still celebrate all the small wins! Thanks Bravo Dog!
Christine Fedusiak: Took puppy kindergarten with Bravo when my dog was a pup, and recently had a behaviour consult for behaviour changes on-leash for my now 5 year old. Super helpful, glad we have this resource!
Jess Culham: I have had the pleasure of working with the amazing team at Bravo dog both in puppy classes then multiple training sessions over the years with both my dogs. While using positive reinforcement techniques, practice and patience- my dogs have improved 10 fold- all because the amazing team at Bravo Dog. I cannot say enough positive things! Whether you have a puppy, a rescue, or a reactive dog- they have all the education and techniques to successfully address any challenges you have! Don’t send your dogs away for training- learn with them and do the work! Bravo Dog will help!
Emily Drummond: Highly recommend Sandy for private training sessions! She is a kind, compassionate, and caring individual who will go above and beyond to help you and your dog. We engaged Sandy earlier this year to help introduce our highly reactive older dog to our new puppy. Sandy delivered a clear and easy-to-follow training plan to help us prepare our senior pup for the new arrival, and additionally gave us lots of bonus enrichment ideas to improve quality of life for our senior. We would never have thought of these ourselves and were so grateful, as taking care of a senior pet comes with so many challenges. We also appreciated that Sandy made things easier for our senior pup by conducting the sessions at our home, and the many kind follow-ups she sent to check on our progress and answer questions. It is clear that she cares deeply for her clients and loves what she does. We would not hesitate to work with her again.
Jenna Beatty: Super recommend Bravo Dogs!! Big thanks to Renée for the virtual training session, and the kindness and empathy the team showed when we were initially emailing them about our dog.My partner and I were skeptical to book an online session at first, thinking it wouldn’t be sufficient to help us train our occasionally reactive dog. We have a 5 year old Great Dane named Cabbie who’s usually an absolute sweetheart but we were struggling with reactivity around the elevator and certain triggers on walks. He was stressed, we were stressed, anyone trying to get out of the elevator while a 140 lb dog was barking at them was stressed. 😅We left the virtual training session with a better understanding of what’s going on with Cabbie during these triggering moments and having a clear path on how to support him in a positive and loving way.Within a week or two there was a HUGE difference in Cabbie’s behaviour. It’s now been a couple of months since our session and Cabbie’s a much more relaxed dog around his triggers (and everyone is much happier around the elevator when he’s there 😂).My partner and I feel so much better and we’re grateful for the simple, yet effective tools we’ve learned. If you’re struggling with reactivity I definitely recommend booking a virtual session at Bravo Dogs, you can train your dog in a caring and supportive way that will give you and your pup confidence. 🤗
Sandra Rodriguez: Really good dog training
kate meagher: Bravo Dog are the best!! The trainers are knowledgeable, professional and use positive reinforcement to teach you and your pup how to learn more about each other.Sandy is amazing, patient and a true pro at what she does! The small class sizes really help ensure you get the most from each session. Really could not recommend the team at Bravo Dog more!
Eilis Desmond: Our rescue dog had many behaviour issues when we first got him including fear-based reactivity to both dogs and strange people. Renee gave us the tools we needed to help him overcome these issues and he is a much happier and calmer dog now! The stress in both his and our lives has reduced dramatically. Walking him, having guests over and taking him on trips used to be very difficult and involved a lot of planning and management; now we can just enjoy these occasions.
Shane Houlihan: Thank you to the bravo dog team for all your support and guidance (loads of free educational content on social media and on the podcast). My view on dog guardianship has totally shifted for the better. Life is easier when we can meet our dogs needs. Highly recommend.
Ashley Gribble: Trainers who take pride in education and providing ethical, humane training for dogs and their guardians. They are open, compassionate and non judgmental; ready to help guide you. True leaders.
B K: I’m so glad to see all the education programs in place and have only heard amazing things about sandy and Renee from clients I’ve referred. I feel good knowing I can refer to trainers, like Renee and sandy who take pride in continuing to education themselves. I’m so stoked to see the Dog Walker certificate program in place 🙏🏼 I’m excited to see this grow as we the dog training and walking field is completely unregulated. Absolutely love that you guys are educating the masses in positive reinforcement fear free training methods. Thank you guys for providing so many amazing services and for all the hard work you do.
Amber Young: The trainers who train you! We adopted a street dog five years ago and Reneé worked with us to create a calm, loving and trusting environment for our pup. She gave us the tools to become his advocate and give him the best life possible. We initially completed the 'Mind your manners' course and I've continued to learn through Bravo Dog's social media and podcast. When you choose Bravo Dog, you choose people who use scientifically proven best practices and who have your dog's welfare at the heart of all they do.
Jeff Clark: I got a no-notice cancellation for no given reason for the dog training program. Pretty unprofessional.
Gillian Vrooman: Bravo Dog Training has been amazing to work with! I’ve learned so much about how to help my sensitive English mastiff through fear free & positive reinforcement training… the specialized training and certifications really show, truly experts in animal behaviour. Working with Sandy in particular was amazing & she helped me understand how to empower help my dog build confidence through positive reinforcement & providing choice to help with fear. She fine tunes my training & helps me see when I’m luring vs reinforcing, helps me problem solve and overall is such a support & wealth of knowledge. More importantly my relationship with my dog is better than ever thanks to Bravo ❤️ 🐾
Nadia Langenberg: We started working with Renee with our fearful rescue about 3 weeks after we got him and can easily say it was the best decision we made. Bravodog training has been invaluable for us. Renee is so knowledgeable, listened to all our concerns and worked with us to come up with personalized solutions that were tailored specifically for what we needed. Can't recommend Bravodog and Renee enough.
David Hui: Renee and her team at Bravo Dog are excellent - simply one of the best in the industry. I love how each staff member is vetted, obtained professional certifications, and provide the best for their clients by providing force-free, fear-free, and positive reinforcement based training which is a modern, humane approach to dog training. (As opposed to 'balanced training' or training with aversive tools such as shock/choke collars or fear/intimidation)We have brought our puppy Flan here for puppy classes with Sandy Wei, and we were so thrilled with the education we received. You can seriously tell Sandy is extremely talented at what she does and she makes classes super enjoyable and easily digestible for everyone. We have enrolled our puppy in the next Manners Advanced class and trust that they will provide the best training and knowledge to us possible. If I could give Bravo Dog 6 stars, I seriously would. When I had a negative encounter recently with a stranger who spouted unsolicited, damaging advice and then proceeded to physically hurt my dog and made her scream (!) - I reached out to Renee and Sandy and they provided me with support and it really makes the biggest difference in the world having that help when I needed it. The ladies at Bravo Dog are some of the best people in the world and I am truly grateful for them.I highly recommend Bravo Dog to anyone who wants the best for their dog.

DOGSmart Training & Smart DAYcare: what do users think?
Anita Crampton: An excellent positive rewards dog training school. They train you to train your dog. I have a bad habit to slide back into training dogs the Woodhouse Way. Not really appropriate anymore. I go back with every pup.
TheDeadb3ar: Really good puppy classes with Tracy
Angela Steiner: We absolutely loved Alice’s class, she is incredibly knowledgeable. As an experienced dog owner I realized how little I actually knew. Her training is clear and concise. Be prepared she lets you know when your doing something wrong. My husband and I left the class each time in stitches laughing after being told sternly what to do and we needed to be told because everything she said worked. We have promptly signed up for more classes. We loved her attitude she cares about dogs and their well-being first and foremost. Alice does not sugarcoat what she says which is fine with us as we were there to learn. I have read other reviews about about her abruptness and we did not take it personally at all, we felt her priority was in the right place. Which was for the dogs not the feelings of the humans. I give her class five stars you will absolutely benefit if you do what she says.
Zach W (Awesome Cheese): The beginner puppy school is the most useless thing I have done with a puppy because they don’t teach the basic of stay and coming which are important to teach to people because it’s hard to to teach yourself and new puppy to do it. The puppies are separated which I find odd because you should teach your dogs to nice play and meeting other dogs and human. I really don’t think I would recommend this puppy school because it really doesn’t help with much training on staying or come to your new puppy. For amount paid I would expect more personally training than watching videos in which I could easily look up myself.
Jenni: I highly recommend the Come When Called Foundations class for anyone whose dog struggles with recall. My dog went from running away and barking at people off leash to me being able to call him away from chasing a coyote, a squirrel, and a group of running dogs! Tracey is a wonderful and knowledgeable instructor who really takes your dog's personality and individual needs into account.
Sandy Leung: Alice is an amazing woman and can work with all kinds of dogs. She will be training you! Love the sessions she holds. There are group sessions and private ones to meet your needs. She also does virtual zoom sessions for in home training.
Jess Alfonso: Our dog registered for the canine good neighbour class. Our dog attended the first class. He was sick and couldn’t attend the second class because the vet recommended that.My wife sent an to Beth the trainer telling her about the situation and to request that the training material and homework be forwarded so we could prepare for the following class. No response was received, my wife sent a second request also with no response. Since my wife was concerned that Beth was sick or the class had been cancelled she sent an email to Annette requesting the same information. After 10 days no response response has been received. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. We guess that once you pay you are on your own.
Amy: Alice is a very knowledgeable trainer and you will NOT regret it. I have an extremely fearful and anxious Australian shepherd that reacts towards dogs, humans, bikes, children etc. We’ve also worked with a few other trainers before coming to Alice. At first, we were a bit nervous because of what people have written on here about her attitude. But if you really want to help your dog, put aside your ego and listen to what she has to offer. I also don’t know any trainers out there that would offer free assessment before committing to classes. My dog was attacked by another dog when he was 3 months old. When we first started the fear and anxiety class, my dog cant even stand seeing or the smell of other dogs. He would go crazy and completely out of control. We did 2 rounds of the fear and anxiety class and he’s much better now. He’s not 100% calm yet, but he’s much more manageable. He is a completely different dog!! We are very thankful of what Alice has done for us. She is truly a very caring person and genuinely wants to help humans understand and build a strong relationship with their dogs.
Jim Miller: 4 years ago, my partner and I adopted a dog from Korea through an organization that rescues dogs from the meat trade there. When he arrived, while he was very sweet, he was incredibly nervous and frightened of his new environment. We attended a few dog training classes before we found Alice at DogSmart, and while they were good, they didn’t offer the level of expertise and patience we needed for our reactive boy. We started attending Alice’s Reactive Dog Course in 2019 along with some other dogs who had similar issues. While our dog, Gordon, still has work to be done, it is only through listening to Alice’s expert tutelage, and her tireless patience, care and generosity, that Gordon has shown so much improvement. I would highly recommend Alice to anyone looking for support with their dogs if they are willing to listen and put in the work.
Alison Staudt: My aunt recommended Alice’s anxious/fearful class for my rescue dog that I adopted a few months ago. I must admit I was very disappointed. Alice may have many years of experience but her demeanour is very unprofessional and judgmental. I felt anxious and dreaded going to each class. I already felt vulnerable because I was feeling guilty/unworthy for being unable to meet my dog’s needs. When I went to each class, I felt further judged and criticized. She would “snap” when we would ask simple questions, and even laugh sometimes. My main goal of the class was to reduce my dog’s reactivity and that has not improved one bit. We were supposed to have the dogs meet one another (group class of 4), but that never happened. I would not recommend this class.
Reina: I had an assignment. I believe their training classes work good for some dogs but I don't feel like to come back. How the lady speak to people is not comfortable. I'm assuming she has a good knowledge of how to approach aggressive dogs but she needs to learn how to approach people.
Nancy Goldberg: My vet recommended that I retain the services of Alice Fisher DogSmart Trainer for my one and a half year old terrier who was characterized as being reactive. That recommendation turned out to be a real blessing! With the assistance of Alice I can honestly say that, after two months of effort, my dog is well on the way to being “cured” of the anxiety that was underlying his behavioral problems. Alice is a consummate professional who is 100% committed to both the human and canine clients. I was really impressed by Alice’s professionalism. The enthusiasm she brought to each class, the genuine care she showed for our pet, and the compassion she showed for the stress I was suffering as the owner of a reactive dog was greatly appreciated. I participated in small group sessions which were extremely well organized and run. Watching how the owners of other reactive dogs were instructed to deal with their problems and having the opportunity to participate in discussions with them was most helpful. In addition to attending the reactive dog sessions I had a few private sessions with Alice where she observed how our family interacted with our dog in our home. She gave us brilliant suggestions which we have put into practice. I cannot say enough positive things about Alice and her enterprise. I would unconditionally recommend her to anyone with a dog that has behavioral issues. Sincerely Ben and Nancy
Rosemary Smith: We didn't know our Boston Terrier got out of our yard...a rare occasion...until Tracy from DOGSmart arrived with Tootsie in tow!! Tracy was driving by on busy Main Street and noticed our dog (no collar on!!) wandering. She kindly pulled over and leashed Tootsie. Tracy being a professional employee of DOGSmart (fitting name) smartly let Tootsie lead her the distance home to us! We had no idea Tootsie was even missing!!!This was above and beyond the call of duty and level of care and human kindness ❤️ What a testimony to Tracy, an animal lover, who also works in the field. Lucky DOGSmart! Boy will we be using their service if ever needed 🤩Gratefully, Tootsie's Family👪 & Tootsie 🐾
colleen brady: John and I had Tracey as an instructor. The best program was called Walk this Way. We have a very distractible puppy and Tracey was so helpful in guiding us. We had a breakthrough in our last lesson. Thank you Tracey!! As we told Tracey, this was a 4-week session which really needs to be 6-weeks. Nevertheless, we found it so valuable.
chrissy stewart: We went in for an assessment to see which class was the best fit for us. The “trainer” rude, distracted and did not assess my dog. She was talking to other clients and not even looking at us when completing the assessment. She did nothing to see where my dog was at in terms of Behavior as we sat down and spoke about previous training. Such a waste of time. She was horrible.Response to owner:I have our conversation saved confirming the date and time. This was your error and don't worry about sending me away because I would never waste my time coming back. As I told you, my dog has had training with different trainers, and successfully completed the training skills we were working on and the others trainers feedback is very different then yours.I was not flustered at all and its ridiculous that you refuse to take any accountability. I agreed with you because I was very unimpressed with your professionalism was happy to end our interaction. I was deliberating posting my review however your response has confirmed my original thoughts. Also when I was walking in the parking lot, i did so as you instructed me as it was to do an " assessment" of his leash handling. Your back was to us talking to others....how could you have done the assessment if you are not going to watch? Our dogs were not close together at that point and when the " assessment" period was over, you seemed more interested in helping the next person and moving us along. Not to mention the other dog was still in the car so I don't believe you were concerned for anyone's safety at that point, You need to reflect back and take some accountability.
Sophie Cooper: We took the Puppy SmartStart class with Tracey and loved it! We learned so much. It was wonderful to see how much Tracey loves her job and all the puppies. She is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. We're excited to continue the training at home and feel like we've been set up for an awesome relationship with our lab. We also appreciated that the class is based on positive dog training rather than reactive training. Could not recommend enough!
B Ridge: I took my dog to the "anxious and fearful" class with Alice and I'm so glad I did! It was a good opportunity to learn about dog anxiety, what to look for and how to respond. The set up is unique compared to standard obedience classes so I had a chance to work with my dog around strange dogs in a controlled way that reduced my stress as well! Alice gave good, practical instruction and explained her methods well. She was always available and invited contact between sessions with videos and pictures of our 'homework' she even spent extra time with me reviewing loose leash walking which has been a struggle for my dog that pulls hard on the leash.I looked at other behaviourists but none were as qualified and the rates at dogsmart are more affordable. I picked this class because of the philosophy of training they endorse. I think some of the critical reviews online should have done their research into positive reinforcement and force free training which does involve a lot of reward and generally that is food for most dogs. Alice teaches you how to use a treat as a reward... not a bribe. I also dont think its realistic to go to a behaviour modification course and not expect to be corrected by the trainer. Alice isn't there to be your best friend or sugar coat things and tell you everything is perfect... why would u need her class then? It's been a few weeks since finishing the class and the results for my dog are undeniable! I'm so pleased my dog is walking calmly on the leash and just seems calmer in general. I plan to keep using Alice as my dogs trainer... seeing results gives me hope I'll be able to help my rescue dog overcome her many fears. 5 stars. Read the website and pick a class!!
Tina V: I took a beginner class with my 7 month old chi the other 3 dogs in class were much older and had previous training .after 1st class instructor noticed my dog was nervous n fearfull .she even told the others I may not return cause this wasn't the class for me .she let me continue and didn't speak to the owner like she said she was gonna .so miswell say I donated the money cause got nothing in return .I don't recommend this place nor do I recommend Tracy she did me disservice with not directing me to the right direction. The owner wasn't very quick to respond I'm upset n 😒
Nina Harada: My husband and I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. We brought him in at a very early age around 6 months old and the instructions we got were mostly around postive reinforcement. There was no corrections as that was considered 'abusive' and unfortunately it's lead to a series of bad behaviors our little corgi now has.We read books from Monks of New Skete and Ian Dunbar (which the lady at the front desk recommended) that specifically states a martingale collar is appropriate at a certain age. When we brought him at 10 months old, Alice reamed us out for having it on him. She was very disrespectful, rude and did not provide any USEFUL information in how to manage his excitement and herding instincts.Fast forward to NOW, where we have gone to take him to a real trainer who told us how to help with our corgi's misbehaviors in a firm and communicative manner. The change is 180. Unreal. We have spent MONEY, TIME, and a tremendous effort to help our dog during the crucial puppy stage only to have received the wrong advise from the DogSmart establishment. I strongly recommend that if your dog is like ours please do not waste your money and time on this business.
Rob R: Masumi is the reason people come to dogsmart. She is an excellent trainer and has a very friendly attitude.
Joanne Cheung: Love their agility classes. Mary is the best!

Doggone Smart Nosework: what do users think?
Michael Peters: Quality sniff training.
Serena Eagland: Rich and Danielle are awesome. My dog Poodle can be unsure with new people but they know dogs well and it's not a barrier to him having a great time!! He's so tired after class! Highly, highly recommend as an activity for you and your dog.
Christine Anne Videña: Rich is a super thorough and fun instructor! My dog Bronx had so much fun at his Level 1 Nosework classes and we look forward to doing more nosework in the future 😊
Wendy Warzoka: We have loved learning about nosework from Rich and Danielle. They are experts in the field of scent detection therefore extremely knowledgeable. They treat both dogs and handlers with respect and kindness. My dog is super happy , tired and content after a class. She gets so excited the morning of “Nosework” when she sees the backpack containing her treats and harness she literally dances and sings. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend this time with your dog as they are doing what they want ( sniffing) and get rewarded for it ( treats). And you get to see them succeed . The training is well thought out and broken down into segments that are easy to understand and practise. It’s just a wonderful activity.
Cherie Mcbeth: Great experience with Rich & Danielle at Doggone Smart. It was very rewarding to see my dogs excitement and learning, and she left every class reluctantly, but very tired! This class was amazing enrichment for my 4 year old labradoodle and as a handler, I learned alot very quickly about reading my dog and the sport of "scentwork" in general. I would recommend this to anyone looking to have fun with their dog or interested in competing in trials.
Eunice Lau: My pup Lolli and I just completed Level 3 with Rich and Danielle and we cannot sing/bark enough praises for their methodology and organization in general. We had completed Levels 1 and 2 with Rich in previous years and were already impressed by his patience, professionalism, and skill in teaching Lolli this wonderful game. Lolli was excited to work every class and always left happy and tired. Signing up for Level 3 was a no-brainer, but I was still surprised to see radical improvement in Lolli’s search and my own handling skills. Having Danielle as well added value and another perspective which we appreciated. Thank you Doggone Smart for the excellence you’ve shown at every level and instilling confidence in me and Lolli! ❤️🐶
Susy McKay: Positive:Professionalism
Lane m: We did Level 3 with Rich and Danielle and it was awesome! They are a fantastic team whose strengths really complement each other. Super supportive and fun learning environment that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to help their dog excel at nosework.
Soledad Ronco: We love Rich and his classes. Great handler training, and the dog has fun too. Good covid measures.
Cicy G: Nosework is awesome, Rich is awesome! Whether just for fun and to learn to trial, nosework is a great activity to build a bond with your dog, and Rich is a great trainer.
Corinne Tighe: Rich is an awesome trainer. You can tell he is an experienced trainer and he is super knowledgeable about how to engage your dog and build drive for the game, whether they are enthusiastic or super skittish (like my own GSD). Highly recommend his classes!!
Darren Keane: Rich is an amazing trainer and fantastic with our dog. We have a 11 month German Shepherd and loves the search. I would highly recommend as it is our dogs favourite game to play.
P Y: Great activity for both handler and pet
Charmaine Barnard: Well.. there is definitely a reason that classes fill up so quickly - they are amazing! Kiah, my recently adopted 3 year old golden retriever and I both thoroughly enjoyed every single class in Level 1 and are looking forward to doing drop ins in the new year while we wait to start Level 2 in the spring 😊. Kiah came to me with some potential joint issues that I needed to be mindful of but also a need to use her smarty pants brain and nosework provided both for us! It definitely helped build our bond together and we have found a sport we both enjoy! Thank you so, so much Rich!
Crystal Lai: Loved my experience. Highly recommended! Rich really knows how to work with all sorts of dogs (I have a shiba and she always has a mind of her own; however, she responds to Rich real well and he knows how to get her to work). Definitely learned a lot and had a wonderful time.
Siobhain Spekat: I would highly recommend Rich for anyone interested in nosework! He teaches in a logical and methodical manner that makes it easy and fun to learn. I’m interested in competition but had several issues to problem solve, after some private sessions we’re back on track and having more fun than ever! Thanks Rich
Melissa Van: I love Rich and Danielle ...What I love most is their passion for the sport !! They have so much knowledge, and work wonders with you and your dog. I have taken LVL 1, semi privates, drop ins, and 2 LVL 2 classes. My dog "HERO" absolutely loves it!!! As an owner and a handler I have learned so much. I have witnessed Rich work with all types of dogs, and he never fails to get them engaged and loving the sport. I have looked at other trainers , and nothing even comes close to how much I love Rich and Danielle. Their passion is just contagious. If your thinking about nose work, and are unsure.. stop thinking and just do it!! I promise you, you will be hooked like us.
Aurora Davidson: Bruno, my Airedale pup, absolutely loves Rich's Nosework classes. We have taken Level One and Two and can't wait to go to Level Three when it's available. Nosework is a great way of bonding with your dog and having fun together. Rich makes it easy and fun.
Tara Evens: Very fun class, my dog loved it.
Carolyn Butt: My dog Dash and I took Rich's level one and two courses. Dash and I both learned a great deal about scent work. I would highly recommend taking scent courses at Doggone Smart Nosework with Rich. They are challenging and fun for both dog and handler/owner.
Spencer Turbitt: We just finished level 2 with our dog Lily. It has been a great experience working with Richard. We have now completed level 1 and 2 with him and have enjoyed all of the training. We would recommend his teaching to anyone looking to get into scent work!
