Jade lanore
Jade lanore: Cole is an excellent, inspiring and thoughtful instructor and is also considerate and patient. He has been instructing my daughter since she was 5 years old, allowing her to pursue her own musical tastes and encouraging her to try new things, including performance and song writing. At 8 years of age, thanks to Cole, she now has the confidence, skills and love of music to play and quickly learn new favourite songs on her own. I highly recommend Cole’s classes.
Karen Campbell
Karen Campbell: Over the past 4 years Cole has taught our every member of our family how to play the guitar, from beginner chords through to advanced classical guitar to our now teenage son. He's thoughtful, creative, and his enthusiasm for music makes for a great experience.
Annemarie Kaan
Annemarie Kaan: Have been having lessons with Cole for 2 years now. Cole has a great way of teaching that fits with your pace and your wishes in terms of music choice. He's always patient and has the ability to impart his great talent and skills to students of all ages. The end of term concert is always fun, no pressure and good incentive to practice! I would highly recommend Cole for guitar or uke lessons.

I highly recommend Cole as a guitar instructor.

In the 4+ years Cole has been his instructor, our son has progressed from being a new learner to being accomplished with the ukulele, guitalele, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar - and Cole has got him singing at the same time. We hope Cole is our son's instructor for years to come.
Trevor Thomas
Trevor Thomas: I recently completed my first term learning the ukulele with Cole. He is a great teacher – kind, patient, and passionate about teaching. The lessons were structured around learning chords through playing songs. Cole is very positive and encouraging, and he allows his students to progress through their own discovery, experimentation and learning. Cole provides a video summary after each lesson, which is very helpful. Highly recommended.
Lesley B
Lesley B: Cole is a fantastic dedicated teacher. He truly loves what he does and it shows. Our daughter started with him playing keyboard as part of a kids band he was putting together and private guitar lessons. She had been paying guitar for a couple of years, but she made huge improvements in only a couple of lessons with Cole. With the band, he has encouraged the kids to busk and play gigs, volunteering to drag his equipment along and help them set up - he goes above and beyond.
Jonathan Wong

But has been very effective - patient, calm, and manages to make learning fun. I took a group lesson from him and it was a nice way to learn. I highly recommend Cole's Guitar Lessons!
Adam Henderson
Adam Henderson: Cole's a great teacher and customizes his approach to the individual student.
Amanda Pitre-Hayes
Amanda Pitre-Hayes: Cole is a truly exceptional teacher. He put together a super fun group of us for our intermediate lessons that resulted in an experience that was both social and instructive. He is super good at meeting you where you’re at as a student. Stretching you when you’re ready to grow, and bringing you back into the fold if you’ve been too busy to practice for a spell. Positive, efficient, fun... Can’t say enough about his talent as a teacher. Have learned so much from Cole and am already looking forward to the next term.
nathan Matthews
nathan Matthews: Cole is a fantastic teacher! If your child has an interest learning to play an Instrument, Cole is a very patient and thorough teacher, his instruction had made my son's enjoyment of playing drums grow and grow!
Kathy Wong
Kathy Wong: Cole is an excellent teacher! He takes a very positive and engaging approach to his lessons. He is always introducing my son to new and challenging pieces of music, and he always goes the extra mile by providing additional instructional videos and such to his students. Not many, if any, other teachers do that. And he often provides other support for his students outside the classroom, helping with gigs and with choosing/purchasing the right instruments. He's quite dedicated to his students!

Blue Morris Guitar Lessons: what do users think?
Yi Stropky
Yi Stropky: I have been learning electric guitar from Blue for almost half a year. And I have had an amazing experience. Not only he is extremely knowledgeable, but also very good at teaching. I had tried to learn from online sources before, but starting learning from Blue was when real progression began. Highly recommend to anyone who wanna improve guitar skills.
Avinash Ahilesan
Avinash Ahilesan: I started taking lessons with Blue without having ever touched a guitar in my life. Within four months he was able to teach me the fundamentals of the instrument and many fun songs. I'm extremely satisfied with the progress and fun that I had from taking lessons with Blue. Great guitar teacher!
Ryan Helsten
Ryan Helsten: I've had a couple of guitar teachers in my guitar journey. I feel that I finally found a teacher that can lead me to the promise land of guitar nirvana. Blue Morris really listens to what your guitar goals are and guides you throughout the lesson. He provides homework for you to work on during the week that pertains to your lesson. I've been using Zoom as my medium to take lessons with him and it's been great. I've tried using YouTube to learn guitar but having a professional to give instant feedback is everything.
David Zaharik
David Zaharik: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI drive an hour each way to spend an hour with this fabulous instructor! On top of being an incredible guitarist, as an instructor, Blue is relaxed, knowledgeable, and patient. He is able to clearly articulate the lessons. I highly recommend him... I have NEVER left a lesson disappointed!
Penelope
Penelope: My wife & I have a weekly class with Blue online. Blue is a fun, easy going and effective guitar teacher!Blue strikes a great balance between mastering old favourites and learning new repertoire. Can't believe how much ground we've covered in the last year and look forward to continuing in 2021!
Frederique Morel
Frederique Morel: Blue is a fantastic teacher. He is patient, kind, very professional and I am looking for my next class every week.I began to study music when I was a very young kid, in the strict environment of a Music School and I completely lost the joy of playing music for 20 years!Slowly, with Blue's benevolence and his great sense of humor, I am getting back on it. What a gift! :DIt doesn't have to be a struggle to be efficient and I can't believe how much progress I did in a few months, just by having fun playing.Thank you Blue!
Jon Cartwright
Jon Cartwright: Blue is a great teacher. As an advanced intermediate he provided me a fresh perspective on concepts I was familiar with, showed me new ways to apply those concepts, and expanded my musical vocabulary. I take lessons when I'm stuck on a plateau or in a rut and am looking for the next "level up". Thanks Blue for opening the door to the next level of guitar mastery on my journey!I'd recommend Blue for any students primarily because he was so patient and easy going.
Aleesa Sutton
Aleesa Sutton: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI really enjoy my lessons with Blue. He's an extremely knowledgeable and talented musician. He tailors the lessons to my skill level and I feel very encouraged during my lessons. His rates are also very competitive. Highly recommend! Happy to have found him.
David Ho
David Ho: I will recommend Blue to anyone that wants to learn to play guitar. I had taken guitar lessons before and Blue by far is the best, I couldn’t play any song before I started taken lessons with Blue and from the very first day I was able to play a whole song with him, that by it self helped me with my confident, which is another quality of him, he not only boost my confident, but also made me understand that I was gonna make mistakes and that I had to be patient with myself.Today I can play several songs and I’m having a great time playing.
Eric Fryatt
Eric Fryatt: I had owned a guitar and enjoyed learning on my own for about 15 years before I decided to take some lessons to improve my playing. I tried a handful of different teachers before settling on Blue and looking back I made a great choice. I have more enthusiasm than natural ability and Blue has always been able to break things down in a way that makes them accessible to my skill level. He has always been patient, professional and accommodating. If I bring specific things to work on he will tackle those with me and is always ready with suggestions if I don't. Working with Blue has improved my playing immensely and allowed me to really enjoy the process at the same time. I would encourage anyone looking to improve their guitar playing to book some time with Blue.
Michael Cholod
Michael Cholod: I owned 5 guitars and 3 or 4 amps for over 10 years. Took lessons, watched YouTube videos, downloaded all the tabs and still couldn't play a note. One lesson with Blue and I was actually playing guitar, I sh*t you not. I now consider myself a guitar player. Sounds like textbook guitar teacher to me. Oh yeah and Blue is a really nice guy too ;-)
Gregory Blair
Gregory Blair: one of the top ten hardest songs in the world to learn and Blue is teaching me it. It's Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix.
Michael Pizarro
Michael Pizarro: If you want to learn guitar, Blue's your guy. I've always wanted to learn guitar, but never really pulled the trigger on it until last year. I found Blue through google search. I was a little hesitant at first, but after the first lesson I realized how talented and skilled Blue was at teaching guitar. He was also very patient, which was an asset especially for me, since on day 1 I knew nothing about the guitar. 1 year later, and I am able to play some of my favourite hits from pure memorization. I am also able to read, tab, etc. I recommend Blue to all levels of guitar skill, he's great!
Cindy AuYeung
Cindy AuYeung: I have been taking guitar lessons from Blue for around 8 months now. As a music student that has been taught by many teachers in the past on different instruments, Blue is one of the best teachers I have ever had.Blue breaks down the basics of how to play the guitar into simple and clear steps, and highlights one or two things that are the most important for you to remember at the beginning - so that you never feel overwhelmed. He then builds upon the foundation very seamlessly. I knew nothing about playing a guitar prior to lessons and now I can play bar chords, play different styles of songs including picking, and have learnt over two dozen songs, due to his well-rounded teaching style. You never feel like you are learning music theory, it is always so seamlessly inserted into how he teaches you. He is always encouraging and is very patient even when he has to show me the same thing more than a few times!Blue has a remarkable voice and a wide knowledge of the music genre, but my favourite aspect about him is that he is a great source of inspiration to his students as he has many creative outlets from playing guitar, singing and recording his own album, to writing. As a skilled guitarist that performs as much as he teaches, Blue is truly dedicated to his work - as a teacher, a musician, and an artist. Plus, he has the cutest dog in the world!

I came in knowing next to nothing about how to play my electric guitar and Adrian has managed to teach me how to take apart and learn just about any song I want, in addition to equipping me with the technical skills needed to play fast paced/complex solos. Overall, I'm shocked at how much he has helped me progress in such a short time and I know that I would not be where I am today without him. Adrian, I can't thank you enough for making the painful learning stages a fun and bearable process. You're the best!

Aside from all of that they are also incredibly talented musicians. I took lessons from Gabe and he not only got me writing my own music a few months into starting but he also became my mentor and friend. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to help me kickstart my music adventure. Love you guys, thank you!

I signed up for lessons with Lenny and within the first 2 classes I made more progress than in a year of self teaching. He's rally engaging and knows how to blend fundamental exercises with playing songs I wanted to learn. The office team was really helpful with bookings as well. All around I'm really impressed with Blue Guitar.
Larissa Huang
Larissa Huang: I've been taking lessons with Lenny for about 7 months and my confidence and skill level in guitar has grown tremendously. He took the time to learn what my musical goals were - blues and soloing - and designed practice exercises specifically to help me progress towards my goals. He has been super encouraging, technically detailed, mindful, and masterfully balances theoretical knowledge, learning songs, and soloing! Best teacher I've ever had.
Glenn P

Michele G
Michele G: I’ve been taking guitar lessons with Adrian at Blue Guitar Studio for just over a year. He is a gifted musician, and a wonderful teacher. As an intermediate player Adrian has really helped me finesse my playing. He brings my attention to things I’ve never even thought about, encouraging me to be precise in everything I do. This has brought my playing up to a different level that even my friends notice. As a song writer Adrian is really helping me expand my options through a practical application of music theory, song writing principles and by gently coaxing me out of my comfort zone. I used to have wait for inspiration but now Adrian has me writing full songs based on 4 chord experiments. For me Adrian is the whole package and I highly recommend him as a teacher. Enayat Ahmady
Enayat Ahmady: I have been a vocal student at Horizon for a couple of months now and they have not only helped me improve tremendously but also gain confidence. I am currently training with Neil Mcmillan who is a wonderful instructor that wants to see you succeed but also makes sure to push you to improve. I highly recommend Horizon School of Music for anyone that has always thought of branching out but were too afraid to take the first steps. They are great with communication and they make sure to listen to your goals and set you up with the right instructor to fit your needs. Thank you to Kris, Sarah and the entire team at Horizon for helping me out!

Lumen Beltran
Lumen Beltran: Great music school! Their team helps you get set up with a music teacher who is aligned with your interest in genre, level of ability, and personality. I take voice lessons with Rocky every Wednesday and she is awesome :) Very friendly and knowledgeable!

Barry Petkau
Barry Petkau: Horizon has been a wonderful discovery for our son as he began learning guitar and bass over the past year. He really connects with his teacher and Jacob has inspired him to practice more to improve his playing.
L Shields
L Shields: I highly recommend Horizon School of Music. I have taken both private and group sessions from Kris Schulz and Rob Hamilton and have been thoroughly impressed. Both guys are excellent players and teachers and really put an effort in to improve your playing. As I live in Seattle, I take the lessons over the Internet. Despite the distance, I feel like we are working in the same room as they are very used to dealing with online learning. I also appreciate how they keep the lessons fresh by mixing Music fundamentals in theory along with learning pieces that are interesting to me. Horizon also has a great online presence with resources that are available to students which allow you to track your progress and access various worksheets that assist in tackling particular challenges we face as musicians. The teachers at Horizon keep the process of learning fun through online workshops group concerts and the like. They provide free clinics in the community and have engaged in fundraising efforts for people who are facing challenges. They truly are a bunch of good people. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Alison Gibb
Alison Gibb: I’m a long time student of Horizon School of Music and chose to continue my music lessons online when I moved to Australia. The personal guidance from the Horizon team and their deep understanding of how to best support my learning is second to none. I always leave my lessons feeling excited about my progress and inspired by where my musical journey is going. Recently for one of the more technical lessons we recorded the session so I was able to go back after the fact and break everything down again step by step which helped a lot in absorbing the material. The teachers I have worked with have each been amazing in connecting to my musical pathway and taking me in meaningful directions towards my goals, with skill progression that feels challenging, satisfying and most importantly, musical. I always look forward to each lesson and the personal connection and tailored instruction makes me feel like a valued part of the Horizon music community.
Wanda B.K. Boyer
Wanda B.K. Boyer: I am so grateful that a friend recommended I take lessons at Horizon School of Music to begin my journey with the guitar! I had an introductory call with Kris, and he asked me incisive questions to determine what instructor would best suit my level of past musical experience, my learning style, and the type of music I would be interested in learning. He was so warm and encouraging, and even gave me a tip on how to form that pesky F bar chord!Kris matched me up with Madeleine, and she is AWESOME. She is so kind and patient with me, and her teaching techniques are impeccable. I really appreciate how she teaches me, say, a scale or scale patterns, and then WHABAM it’s the basis for a song that I’m going to learn! Also, Madeleine has a really keen sense of new songs that I’ll be motivated to learn, and has really laid out clearly what I need to do to gain competency. She makes me feel like a million bucks by identifying when I’m following along with what she’s teaching, when I discover what she’s leading me towards. I’m stoked to be able to learn from such an accomplished musician and supportive teacher!
Nicolas Arnaud
Nicolas Arnaud: I participated in both Advanced Improvisation and Music Theory online courses taught by Kelly Brown and Rob Hamilton. Both courses are excellent, I had a blast with both of them, enjoyed them very much.Kelly opened the door to so many possibilities and as always, having the opportunity to learn from him is really precious. He has lots of experience and lots of skill in the craft. He has provided a lot of guidance that is so rare to find elsewhere because not so many people have it, and very precious indeed, but most importantly because he cares about his students' development. I feel very fortunate to have him as a teacher, and sometimes I feel the need to practice more to pay homage to all the things he has shown to me and taught me :) I believe the most important thing is that I'm progressing and as Kelly said, to keep moving forward.Rob has provided an excellent resource, reference and background of music theory, but not just theory, applied theory I would say. His course was perfectly structured and delivered, and one thing that comes to mind is the huge number of songs and examples he provided where music harmony was applied, with lots of my favourites as part of them. He would demonstrate these examples live and simply, with an acoustic guitar. The course was a pleasure to attend. To be honest, we could go for hours, poor Rob, he almost had to kick us out. He has also provided reference material and books which are great to have.Having both workshops has been amazing, both teachers are excellent and they provide two very different approaches, and if I had the time, I would probably continue learning from both.I hope they become a staple of Horizon's workshops as they deserve it, the workshops are golden opportunities to advance one's learning as a guitarist and as a musician; and that they continue with a sequel of these courses in the future.I recommend these courses to anyone.
Marco Duenas
Marco Duenas: Start it playing around with my guitar when the shut down occurred. Was mostly trying to do things on my own using YouTube and web, just whatever I could find and whatever sounded good to learn. Best decision I’ve ever made after months of struggling not really knowing what to do was partnering up with Horizon School of Music. Wow, I wish I could’ve gone back and started with them since March. I wasted so much time and what a difference Kris has made in my world of music. I’m a blind person so I was very skeptical about how learning an instrument online would be. I’m in Los Angeles and was unsure if doing this on zoom or FaceTime would work. Well, it did and it Has. I love the school and everyone that I have come in contact with has been simply awesome. My progress has been so fast and so much fun. Kris listens to what I say and really Taylor’s the class for me. He thinks outside the box and it’s not there just to show me how to copy a song that I want to learn. Although that’s what I wanted, just to play the songs I like but now I’m improvising, playing a couple of tunes and singing. Wait, what? I don’t sing, well, I guess I do. Can’t wait to see where I am six months from now, stay tuned!
Melanie Reynolds
Melanie Reynolds: Great experience...know how, space and good people
Dave C
Dave C: It's a time in life when I can finally focus on something I dearly love, music. My wife and I had stumbled upon Horizon School of Music to see a concert (Trevor Gordon Hall--amazing!). That was a year ago. The place had a certain something about it that I could not put words to, but I knew it was the right fit for learning guitar the way I wanted to learn it.I asked Kris for a recommendation from his roster of instructors. I told him I wanted not only to learn guitar, but also how to produce my own music at home. Kris told me about Kelly, so I went with it. And wow.Kelly and I have had 4 or 5 lessons to date. I don't think that even if I had traveled the world and interviewed thousands of potential teachers, I could have found a better fit than Kelly. He is exactly, precisely, what I was looking for to help me in this journey.I am deeply grateful, and looking forward to growing as a musician with Kelly and Horizon.Thank you Kris and Jillian!
Patrick Dore
Patrick Dore: Finding a guitar teacher that "fits" is no easy task especially as an adult student. Kris listened and set me up with Kelly Brown. Kelly has been challenging me since day 1, always keeping me rooted in the very basics of music while expanding my skill set. He is a very experienced and intuitive educator and, while it always hasn't seemed so, has improved my playing dramatically in a very short period of time. Isn't that why we take lessons from experts? Thanks
Michelle Jenkins
Michelle Jenkins: Kris and all his staff provide an amazing teaching/mentoring service for musicians of all ages and abilities. We lucked out when our guitar loving son got a chance recommendation to look Kris up for lessons (back when Kris was inspiring students from his home studio) over 6 years ago. Since then Kris has gone on create an impressive school of diverse, dedicated teachers for multiple music disciplines. The school is very attentive to individual needs and flexible in their approach and delivery (including online scheduling, payment and remote lessons as requested). Over the years we’ve racked up lessons weekly, monthly group blues and jazz sessions , weekly jam sessions/performances to one-on-one jazz guitar (with the master Kelly Brown). It is with immense gratitude that I recommend Horizon School of Music.
Linh Jiang
Linh Jiang: Horizon school of music is a great place for my daughter to have her violin lessons with Hannah. They are flexible and always willingly help adjust our schedule whenever needed. The owner Kris is very personable and my daughter was very happy to meet him so that he can help us set up our lessons. Thank you for your professionalism, friendliness and patience.
Adrian Coyne
Adrian Coyne: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueHave had lessons with Rob & Rocky and they have both been outstanding in all aspects of teaching from how they interact with students to their music knowledge. Kris was also very helpful from the start in organizing lessons and taking an interest in the music I was interested in learning
Paul Ngo
Paul Ngo: I am so glad I found Horizon School of Music. Although I have just started I feel I have learnt so much already in such a short amount of time. The staff are amazing and welcoming. They definitely have made it a point to observe my needs / goals as a musician and match me with a instructor best suited to me (Kelly Brown, great teacher) If you have any plans to pick up and learn an instrument I would definitely recommend Horizon.

S KM
S KM: A review long overdue... I have been a customer for almost 15 years now at Music Gallery. Bought my guitar and piano here. They have provided great service all long. Fast, reliable and above all honest crew. Patience is a virtue at Music Gallery!! Always willing to help and reliable. I have referred many of my students here to purchase their instruments and will continue to do so as they have proven to be reliable, competitive and honest through the test of time!
Stanley Hung
Stanley Hung: Regina was very knowledgeable in helping my son choose his first guitar.Excellent selection of guitars. Also, very convenient to book music lessons.Thank you Regina.
herry shao
herry shao: I went to the piano store today to buy a new one-half violin for my daughter, and also replaced the violin I bought the year before last. I paid a total of 249 Canadian dollars, and I think the price is very reasonable. There is also a new case, which my daughter likes very much. The most important thing is that Regina's service is very good, patient, and careful. I will come here again next time I change the piano.
Amir Karimi
Amir Karimi: Very good collection of different instruments, great customer service and wonderful, knowledgable and polite personnel. We found this store the best in the town!
Jack Ormel
Jack Ormel: Super helpful and very kind!
Javad Noori
Javad Noori: I had the pleasure of purchasing my piano from this shop, where Regina provided excellent customer service by offering valuable and informative guidance.
Haruka Sun
Haruka Sun: We’ve got our very first Yamaha piano from Music Gallery & Academy and the best experience of my life! Regina is very professional, knowledgeable and very patience with us. They also have great selection of digital piano. If you are looking for piano for yourself or your kids, highly recommend!!!
Katarina Nikolic
Katarina Nikolic: Michael was incredibly helpful regarding all my inquiries. He has extensive knowledge and experience regarding musical instruments, music lessons, instrument repair and provided me with top-notch support and assistance. I highly recommend The Music Gallery for all your musical needs.
Melody Kruppa
Melody Kruppa: Went in looking for what I thought I needed-an amplifier for my digital piano. The staff were very kind to me and went through my options in detail. I felt guilty about the amount of time they spent with me testing the amplifiers especially when, in the end they told me I don't need something that expensive. They recommended something simpler and more affordable-a portable speaker. I was really appreciative of the time they spent with me, their kindness and honesty. I could have easily been influenced to buy something I didn't need at a high price. I highly recommend this shop!
Andrea Dunn
Andrea Dunn: If I had to comment in as few words as possible, I would have to say my experience was “unreal”, or maybe “amazing” or “first-class” or “top-notch”.The service was impeccable. Michael helped me out and although I walked in knowing nothing about instruments, he took the time to sit with me and help me understand what it was I was looking for. He is so personable, it felt like I’d known him forever, He was as excited as I was about my new endeavour to learn the guitar so I could cross that off my bucket list. He showed me some tricks to get started with my learning, and assisted me in getting lessons in their academy. Not once did I feel pressured to buy anything or commit to anything.A week after my guitar purchase and first lesson with Arash (who is amaaaaaaaazing), Michael invited me back to see how my lesson went, and see if I needed any help with anything. He was so kind and helpful. He spent another good amount of time showing me a couple things to really focus on during my practicing at home.I’m so grateful I walked into the Music Gallery to make my purchase, as the service was next to none.
Rosie Mitchell
Rosie Mitchell: Wonderful experience purchasing my new ukulele from Music Gallery.

I'm fall in love with my white Yamaha Piano😍 I would like to thank the entire Music Gallery team, especially Mr. Ehsan, who gave me the best advice with patience, good manners, and valuable knowledge, and it only took 4 days to place my order and get it. On the same day, the educational plan of my classes was also done. I recommend everyone to visit the music gallery to buy instruments or learn.🙏😊
Ghazal Taleb
Ghazal Taleb: Michael is a great person himself , so knowledgeable and patient with all your concerns and questions about musical instruments. We recently bought an acoustic piano from them, a Hailun HU120J, and he helped us a lot to find a good match with our needs and budget.Your help and advice are appreciated Mike.Highly recommended Music gallery, you will be in good hands there.
Shailene Daemi
Shailene Daemi: After many research about different piano brands, finally, we bought a Hailun piano from Music gallery today. Madam Regina helped us to choose a perfect piano based on her experience and knowledge. She is also very patient with kids. I highly recommend this store specially if you are living in North shore and looking for a lifetime piano.
cici zhang
cici zhang: Regina and Charle was very helpful and welcoming
Julia Zhou
Julia Zhou: I went to Music Gallery on Dec 28 2022 looking for a ukulele. Regina was very patient and helpful. She let me try a few back and forth, played for me to compare the sound and gave me professional advice on which one to choose. After staying at the store for an hour and half, I eventually decided to pick the concert ukulele which sounded louder and happier, and of course more fit for my hands. Regina also introduced a beginner book and suggested me to do some self-learning before I went to the private lesson two weeks later. I did follow her advice, and started to read the book. I can't stop playing for a few hours each day ever since and now I can play "Sweet Sweet Home" while chanting. It is so much fun. Thank you Regina!
Mark Condon
Mark Condon: I bought an electric drumset with Regina and Charlie’s help. It was a floor model so Charlie helped me to pack it away and bring it to the car. Regina was very pleasant to interact with
ming lei

Regina provided exceptional customer service experience and showed me all the options available for me to choose. I definitely recommend going to Music Gallery for any music related needs. Stephanie Severino (Oliveye)
Stephanie Severino (Oliveye): Benedict is an AMAZING teacher!! He is patient, supportive, knowledgeable and fun when it comes to learning the guitar and just an awesome guy to know! I highly recommend taking lessons from him whether you're a novice or advanced guitar player. I always learn something new at every class. :)
Shahnaz Daneshpajouh
Shahnaz Daneshpajouh: Everything... The instructor, the technique, the place
cathwon
cathwon: Benedict is charismatic, kind, and has extensive knowledge in all aspects of music - including music theory, acoustic and electric guitar, piano, songwriting, and probably more I don't know of. No matter what difficulty you struggle with, he always has an answer to your question. He promotes more holistic approaches to learning guitar, and is very encouraging when you're learning something new. I would say he is the real deal!
Robert Jones
Robert Jones: I had taken guitar lessons years ago and wished to restart and improve my skills. After some research, I found Ben, one of the best guitar teachers I have ever had. If you are looking for a good teacher, whether beginner or advanced, he is your man. I have referred him quite a few students, all feel the same way. Good luck with your studies,Rob
Christa Siminiuk
Christa Siminiuk: Amazing!!!! I have taken guitar lessons with various teachers in the Vancouver area and nothing compares to the progress I made learning from Benedict Marsh. Knowing how to play guitar does not easily translate into being able to teach it well. Teaching is a skill in and of its own. Benedict has the guitar skills and is an excellent teacher. He understands the neurological mechanisms behind learning a new skill, and his methods have greatly improved my playing! He's knowledgeable, talented and adapts his teaching style to fit with your goals and learning style.
Marilyn M
Marilyn M: I look forward to coming to class and learning something new every time, regardless of which class skill level I'm in. I've always wanted to learn to play by ear and I like that Benedict inspires you to practice and get better and encourages you to really listen and feel the music you're trying to play. He is a very experienced player himself so he has lots of helpful tricks as you go along. I think a group setting would be great too as having other students next to you can inspire you further and you can learn from each other as well.
Leanne Janzen
Leanne Janzen: Our Community Music Centre is a supportive and encouraging environment to learn guitar, make mistakes and be curious. As a beginner I’ve only accessed the tip of the iceberg of Benedict’s knowledge and experience which he makes completely accessible. Music is a felt experience and the lesson is where you can explore your relationship with music. You learn to play guitar not just with your hands, but use your whole body. His philosophy of everyone’s ability to play, participate and create music rings true every lesson. I believe his talent and musicianship would allow for continuous learning and improvement no matter what your experience level. The lesson set-up is great too. Best deal in Vancouver! Once you sign-up, unlimited learning and fun. OCMC comes Highly Recommended!!!
Colleen Oldfield
Colleen Oldfield: Our Community Music Centre promotes an incredibly comfortable place to learn the guitar, especially for beginners. I was intimidated at first to attempt this new skill in a group setting but find it extremely beneficial to the entire learning process. So happy to be part of this amazing community.
Glyn Jones
Glyn Jones: I don't think I could have imagined a more inspiring and interesting way to learn to play the guitar before I met Ben. He is such a fun and effective teacher. I started to take the group lessons 5 months ago at Our Community Music Centre. Ben creates a comfortable environment and with ease encourages and inspires everyone to try things beyond their limits. I was a bit hesitant to learn in a group setting but I am totally convinced it is the best way to improve your guitar playing. If you are looking for quality fun and affordable lessons in Vancouver you should definitely give Ben at Our Community Music Centre a call.
Hannah Walker
Hannah Walker: If you love music and want to learn tools to help you to play it beautifully, Our Community Music Centre is the place for you! I've had the pleasure of working with Benedict on many occasions over the years, he is a wonderful, comprehensive and down to earth teacher. I would highly recommend this place!
Asher Kasirer
Asher Kasirer: Benedict is the greatest teacher I`ve ever had
David Beckingham
David Beckingham: Benedict is a great teacher. Passionate about music, he infuses his students with energy as he guides them to a deeper understanding of the craft of guitar playing. He is clearly a musical heavy weight in terms of his theoretical knowledge but he explains things so they're easy to understand for students of any background (including beginners). I'd recommend him to anyone wanting to learn or improve their skill set. Great value too. Unlimited classes with the monthly and yearly passes. Only teacher in town offering such a deal.

Duran Ritz Vancouver Drum Lessons: what do users think?
Maya
Maya: Book your lessons with Duran now. Won't regret it, I promise you. I've had the pleasure of being taught by both Duran and his colleague, Taylor. They are both extremely talented, engaging, patient and most of all a ton of fun to work with. Each lesson was thoughtfully planned out and adapted based on skill progression. Thank you guys! Stay awesome 🤟
Young Yu
Young Yu: I first met Duran in February 2021 as I wanted to do something fun during this pandemic and happened to find out he has been offering exciting drum lessons near where I live. Duran is not only an engaging drum tutor, but also a great music (or even life) coach. He has been helping me improve my drumming skills as well as develop my interest in music. Lessons are always tailored to my needs and ability. It might sound slightly exaggerated but my life has definitely changed since I started hitting the drums with Duran. I am looking forward to enjoying more drumming times with Duran!
Shy Fleming
Shy Fleming: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueDuran is a wonderful teacher and person.I highly recommend him as a drumming instructor.
Tatiana Tikhomirova
Tatiana Tikhomirova: If you looking to pick up a new skill, Duran’s lessons are definitely for you. I didn’t realize that playing drums can be so easy and entertaining . Duran is an amazing teacher and will always challenge you with something new, while keeping it doable and not too painful to figure out :) These lessons will quickly become something that you will be looking forward to every week, and you will be impressed with how much you can learn in a few months with some practice between lessons.
Nora GT
Nora GT: Duran is an excellent teacher with awesome personality. I thought learning the drums would be overwhelming and hard.. but Duran makes it feel so simple and easy! He makes sure you understand the material before moving on to the next section. He's encouraging, patient, and knowledgeable. You won't regret choosing him as your drum teacher!
Nahaal Fadaeian
Nahaal Fadaeian: I have been taking classes with Duran for almost a year and I thoroughly enjoy every one of them! Duran’s teaching style is extremely professional, engaging, and fun. Every session is dynamic and I am always learning something new. Duran is not only a phenomenal teacher but is also an admirable and talented drummer. I’m very thankful to be one of his students. Thanks Duran for guiding me through my drum journey!!
Curtis
Curtis: I emailed Duran through his website looking to set up an online lesson as I am not located in Vancouver. Duran made this possible and we set a lesson up through FaceTime.I am an intermediate/ advanced drummer, and I hit a big plateau in my playing and I communicated that to Duran from the get go. He listened to my issues that I've been dealing with in my playing, and helped me single in on a few concepts that would direct me into more focused and driven practice time. He proceeded to lay down exercises that have since challenged me and taken me into a more creative space.Duran was patient, communicated concisely, and proved to me that he has a wide understanding of the drums. For future students, this is what you should be looking for in a drum instructor/teacher.Big thanks Duran, can't wait for our next lesson!
David Gradwell
David Gradwell: Awesome teacher, awesome drummer. I’m stoked to learn with Duran. Highly recommended.
Will Hollett
Will Hollett: I’ve been taking drum lessons bi-weekly with Duran for the past couple months (with no previous experience) and am amazed with the progress I’ve made so far! Duran has already got me playing along to some songs which is a lot of fun and keeps me motivated to keep practicing. He’s got a ton of experience playing various styles and knows a lot about the history of drumming which always makes for great conversation during the lesson. Whatever type of music you’re into or skill level, you’ll definitely learn a ton playing with Duran.
Silver Sun
Silver Sun: Duran is a professional drummer, also an awesome teacher. You'll always feel learning a lot in each lesson and keeps developing your drumming skills. Duran makes each lesson personalized, he will find and fix your bad habits, teach based on your current level and interest.I'd definitely recommend it to anyone want to learn drums
L B
L B: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueDuran is an excellent teacher for all levels. He is professional, provides a great learning environment and provides everything necessary for your success!
Candace O'Connor Alan Simmonds
Candace O'Connor Alan Simmonds: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI was very impressed by Duran's coaching style, and the progress my Grand-daughter made in just one term of lessons. She enjoyed her lessons as much as I did. I highly recommend him!
Deena
Deena: As a teacher myself, I have found that the hardest part of working with students (especially adult students) is motivating them to practice.Duran's teaching style is so motivating it COMPELS you to make time to practice. Duran has an innate gift of intuitively knowing where his students are, where they need to go and how to get them there. He is a consummate professional always looking to get better at his crafts: teaching and drumming. If you are even slightly considering taking lessons - do it - and take them with Duran! You will be stoked that you did.
Jackson Hutton
Jackson Hutton: After working with Duran for some time I can confidently say my drumming has improved a great deal. His lessons always provide me with what I need to take my drumming to the next level, helping me break bad habits and develop the tools to play with ease and confidence. Both knowledgeable and easy to learn from, his lessons are both fun and incredibly constructive.
Robert Doyle
Robert Doyle: My interactions with Duran have been great. His teachings are effective, adaptable, and most importantly enjoyable. I get stoked to just to play beside him every lesson because it's a fun, easy going environment to be in (he has two drum kits side by side for lessons). Every lesson it feels like a new door has been opened in the drum section of my brain. I want to go play drums as I write this. 10/10
Connor Maclean
Connor Maclean: Duran is awesome. He's a killer drummer, a great teacher, and a great communicator. I've played drums for two years and have developed my own (not so great habits) and he's helped me correct many of them. I struggle being able to express what I'm having difficulties with but he's always able to get to the root of it. He's helped me get through difficulties I didn't even know were difficulties! It's drum therapy I tell ya. I'm sure he's been teaching for a long time but he always seems interested in discovering new ways to improve himself, especially as a teacher. As a student, it makes for a unique quality to have observed.
Aaron Barsky
Aaron Barsky: Duran is an outstanding teacher. He has an inexhaustable collection of exercises and drills that keep you motivated to practice each week. Best of all, the drills work. My drumming keeps improving. His teaching setup is great, playing side by side on full drum kits. I often look forward to my lessons just for the joy of playing at full volume on his well-tuned kits. I had been stuck in a rut for years, reinforcing my same old bad habits in my practice time. With Duran's help, I was able to break through to the next level.
Rob T
Rob T: Duran's teaching and communication skills are highly effective and his playing skills and chops are inspiring when working with him. His teaching studio is a great set up for lessons and learning. Duran possess a rare combination of teaching and playing skills and his ability to improve your playing in a short period is extremely rewarding! If you have the chance to work with Duran and take lessons don't hesitate. I have playing in Vancouver since 1977 and you won't find a better instructor.Rob TomkowCulture Shock, The RoadRunners, Go Four Three, Not Mentally Prepared

Harmony House Music School: what do users think?
Lisa Cartwright
Lisa Cartwright: Harmony House has added so much to my life, socially, physically and emotionally in the past several years. As an adult starting to address a few things on my constantly growing bucket list, its like one stop shopping for trying new things, experiencing the joy of music in so many forms, and learning to be comfortable performing in front of other people. Between singing in Harmony House's wonderful choirs (Spirits Call and Classic Rock Choir), taking solo lessons, singing with a small group, or trying out an instrument for the first time, its all fun and oh so good for every bit of me! I've learned that music is a pretty terrific antidote for just about anything that causes stress in our busy lives...and I'm thankful for the opportunity to be part of this amazing experience and hope to keep at it for a while! Thank you Harmony House!
Gija Williams
Gija Williams: My son has been taking lessons for 1.5 years and at the age of 9, he can play the piano while singing which is super impressive. He can sit in front of the piano and sing songs by Alicia Keys, John Lennon, Elton John, Oasis and Vulfpeck and I did not have to ask him to practice at all. It is fun for him to study cords and perform in front of audience.I would say, you are lucky to find this place and that is how I feel.
Sanja
Sanja: Thank you Sandy and Jeremy for one more succesful year at Harmony House!Zivan is developing his musicianship spontaneously and without too much effort every year allowing him to focus on his other obligations as well.Zivan is two years at HH and really enjoys being a part of a band as well as performing solo songs at the concerts. We will definitely continue to be a part of this amazing musical family.
April Haffenden
April Haffenden: My daughter is loving her lessons at Harmony House. Jeremy is a fabulous teacher and very enthusiastic. The teaching approach has helped my daughter's confidence with learning to play the piano and to sing.
Samantha Burnet
Samantha Burnet: What a fantastic place! If you want to see your young people( and your own grown up self) step into a joyful and brave way of being with music; performance, collaboration, sharing, skill development, & discovery. This is the place. ❤️ LOVE
Anita Hildebrandt
Anita Hildebrandt: Harmony House is very special, unique and different in a way that you can witness if you give it a go. While producing measurable results, it's so easy to see that the teachers, owners and this school in general have passion about being brave, about the skills learned and having their students find passion in the music that they learn. The next difference is the students actually perform before a live audience in concert (after recording in studio) if one is up for it. With multiple programs (private instrumental, voice lessons, group ensembles and unique programs beyond), both young and old alike grow in not only skills but confidence while performing. The teachers bring out your best with skill, patience and humour. Our own daughter has grown and accelerated in playing/singing in a fairly short period of time and it's such a joy to see her into it! ps. The students get to decide what songs they want to learn which keeps it all very cool/current for them. Highly recommend this school.
Valerie Johnson
Valerie Johnson: Harmony House isnt just a place for kids to take music lessons - they genuinely create a community of all ages with a love of music and give you a platform to perform, collaborate and grow musically. The adult program has been an awesome experience for me and i would recommend it to anyone who loves music and might think it is too late to play an instrument or sing - it isnt too late!
Helen&Nic Rioux
Helen&Nic Rioux: It's a great music school! Not only students learn how to play the instrument they choose, they also learn how to be confident. My 5-year old daughter started 10 months ago in the Budding Musician program; I really like the fact that she not only learns to play piano, but also singing at the same time and learning to talk & perform with microphone (in front of audience). These are the ultimate qualities I want my child to develop which will benefit her in her lifetime and Harmony House has a very well-planned program to guide their students to be confident. I have friends that sent their children to other piano school at young age and went through lots of crying & rejecting (some children never wanted to touch piano after a few months), I am very happy that my daughter is still very interested to play (although practise at home doesn't last long ;) and is making progress.
MomsDayOut
MomsDayOut: So happy we chose this over school music. The individual attention has advanced my son tremendously. The teachers are amazing!
Meagan Smith
Meagan Smith: Wonderful small music school with a family-like atmosphere. Unlike other places we have tried, these teachers are here long-term and not passing through, so the consistency is great. The added perks like twice-yearly studio recording, two professional concerts, fun family events, christmas carolling, etc. etc. really add to the experience. Sandy and Jeremy, the owners, are passionate about what they do. Highly recommended for children as well as adults.
Lorraine Holman
Lorraine Holman: I have had the absolute pleasure of being a member of the Classic Rock Choir through Harmony House Music School. I came alone and was embraced with instant acceptance. This is truly a community of people who come together for the joy of singing. No pesky audition and even those who cannot read music happily learn their harmony in this incredibly chill choir. I can't wait for Seotember to start on our new songs.
Tim Parsons
Tim Parsons: In the spring of 2016, at 45 years old and at a stage of life where my kids are teenagers, I decided to start investing some time in myself, to do something that I enjoy for me. Ah, singing lessons I thought! Google to the rescue, and a few clicks later I landed on the website of Harmony House Music School. The more I read, the more impressed I became with the background and experience of the teachers, particularly Sandi Melody, one of the Directors/Teachers.I had learned that both Sandi and Jeremy Vallance (also a Director/Teacher at Harmony House) operated Spirits Call Choir, a non-denominational singing-group of people like me, people with little or no singing experience that love to sing. At the time, the spring session of the choir was just about to start, and the meeting location was very close to where I live in North Vancouver. I figured what better way to try singing and meet both Sandi and Jeremy at the same time.Yes, like most people I suspect, I was initially timid about going outside my comfort zone in doing something that I had never done outside the confines of a shower curtain. Though after making it through the first evening of singing with the choir, it was amazing how pumped and energetic I felt. Sandi and Jeremy had done a splendid job of making me feel welcome, without applying judgement to my singing, and with lots of encouragement to just “sing it out”. I was hooked, and nearly a year later, I continue to enjoy singing with Spirits Call Choir both in North Vancouver on Tuesday nights, and downtown Vancouver on Wednesday nights. In the fall of 2016, having now been singing for 6 months, I wanted more of Harmony House – I started taking private singing lessons with Sandi, and I joined a small vocal ensemble of 6 adults. The private singing lessons really helped teach me proper singing technique – I particularly noticed improvement with transitioning smoothly from chest voice to head voice, and vice-versa, and now feel more comfortable doing so when singing alone or with others. The small vocal ensemble provided a more intimate and personal experience to sing with a smaller number of people than the traditional choir, as well as a more creative opportunity to learn how to sing harmonizing music with others. Sandi and Jeremy were exceptional at identifying what little adjustments were needed to have you sounding your best individually and with a group – what great talent and skill! If you love to sing, and have the same apprehensions and fears that I expect most of us have when we go outside our comfort zone to try something new, particularly something so personal that makes us vulnerable, then Harmony House and Spirits Call Choir would be a great choice for you. Please leave your apprehensions and fears at the door and give it a try – you’ll be so happy you did. You’ll meet so many great people, and you’ll feel so much more uplifted and energetic as a person.
Holly Workman
Holly Workman: Hands down - best music school ever. Kids/youth stay engaged and motivated because they get to do the kind of music they want to do. Promotes music for life - and if you want - for work as well. Amazing (for adults too!!)
Steph Hendy
Steph Hendy: Harmony House has helped me to become the strong individual I am today. As a little kid I fell inlove with music, and Sandi - along with Harmony House - continued to fuel that fire. I've been with HH for atleast 8 years, being offered challenges and support all throughout. HH and Sandi were amazing to help me continue my education in music when I was struggling to get by, and never failed to cheer me up.HH is the only school in the lower mainland that offers this type of experience: recording in studios, performing on a professional stage, and having the opportunity to work both privately and with others. I have learned much from my time at HH and will always keep it close to my heart.
Jacqueline M Massey
Jacqueline M Massey: Harmony House provided an excellent environment and rich learning opportunities for my daughter who wished to explore her musical interests in a supportive, nurturing place. Her many years spent there has had an indelible impact on her creative live. Sandi Melody is an outstanding leader, and talented teacher, whose philosophy is inspirational and effectively applied at HH. I would highly recommend the school to anyone at any level who wishes to express themselves musically. I am personally very grateful to the school and its staff for influencing my daughter in such an overwhelmingly positive, life enhancing way.
Cori Creed
Cori Creed: Harmony House is a wonderful place to learn. The programming is set up to inspire, motivate and put just the right amount of pressure on students so that they practice!Music, especially vocals, is not something that can be taught well without creativity. The teachers at Harmony House have many approaches to drawing out techniques and results, and work with each individual to find a method that resonates.
Fraser Christian
Fraser Christian: I took lessons at Harmony House for four years and I would recommend them to anyone that wants to take their musicianship to the next level. The teachers are positive and encouraging, and all amazing musicians in their own rights. There is also a strong emphasis on developing skills for live performances, which is extremely beneficial to anyone looking to play in live bands. This all happens in one of the most welcoming and supportive environments I've ever been a part of.In short, Harmony House offers unparalleled instruction in an ideal environment, and anyone looking for music lessons would be crazy not to go here!
Shari Ulrich
Shari Ulrich: My daughter took piano lessons from Sandi Melody at Harmony house when she was 5 and 6 years old - which was 20 years ago! HH gave her a fantastic start as a musician, and she has been a professional musician since she was 12. The footage I have of her playing "When the Saint's Go Marching In" at one of their wonderful recitals is priceless.Harmony House provides an incomparable foundation for all who come through its doors.
Jared Radvak
Jared Radvak: Harmony House always always been nothing but awesome for me! I've taken drum lessons, performance classes, and just about every other course they have had to offer over the years. Harmony House always provides students with fun teachers and a positive learning environment which can be a rarity these days.. I have made several close friends over the years at Harmony House and wouldn't trade the years of lessons for anything. Sandi herself is the most motivating positive individual out there and her vision for harmony house is spectacular. She truly believes every single student has their own talents and it is her job to bring it all out! Thanks Harmony House :)
Alayna Gibbs
Alayna Gibbs: My past 5 years at harmony house have helped shape me as a person, as well as a musician. Throughout high school, I have enjoyed coming to harmony house for music lessons at the end of the day. Learning to sing and expand my vocal range with different techniques is a skill that I can hold onto for the rest of my life.
Adam Bushell
Adam Bushell: Harmony House is not just an academic institution. It is a community of musicians, young and old, beginners and experts, that allows its members to delve into an awesome world of artistry. Harmony House laid the foundation for my exploration into this world and many years later I can confidently say that my life was changed for the better.
